Nah. Players only pub stomp because the average skill of the community is not that good. You can call it "average" but average in dbd is still not that good but even then average can still win games.
-
Eh certain meme addons are so miserable to use to the point where its not worth it.
-
No.

BHVR balanced the game so bad killers can beat good survivors. I am amazed huge winstreaks are even allowed in a PvP game.
This is just false.

The purpose of an MMR system was defeated when they made the soft cap and made it for an Asymm. AKA when it was first introduced.

Most of these looping spots are just glorified 50/50s. They can look cool because sometimes he happens to win them several times in a row. But even his example clips you can see he's getting hit several times. There are stronger places to loop on each of these maps, recommending that to new players is questionable at best, if not misleading.
The Dead Dawg spot in particular is ridiculous., It's way too long to work, the killer will catch you with bloodlust even if you make the window. I can't think an "experienced" player can suggest this and think it genuinely works. I've played killer for more than 1000 hours and I don't think I've seen even one survivor try to loop it in this specific pattern, it's just absurd.
Also no offense to Tatorhead but if you watch his actual gameplay on stream he is not the incredibly good looper that the titles of his videos seem to imply. Just like the majority of these god survivor Youtubers, in reality he escapes less than 50% of his games.
50/50s is part of looping though. You win the 50/50 you get to make another rotation (and yes good killers still lose 50/50s) and with blood lust… you are supposed to eventually lose chase. But it's better to keep the killer in certain areas which looping does than taking the killer on a cross-map tour. There's the macro play coming into the looping game. I feel like peoples expectations of looping has devolved into "oh i get to get to this super safe window or pallet the killer can do nothing about other than brute force it".
-
Probably because they couldn't make one in general so they just increased his TR to 32 meters.
-
Looping is still very much still a thing. Just people are so used to strong pallets killers can do nothing about other than break them that when they get nerfed a little they lose all ability to run it. A bunch of main buildings already have cut and dry loops that are strong like the entire realm of crotuss prenn, dead dawg, lerys main area etc.
If you are struggling a lot with looping I would suggest looking up Mr Tatorhead which makes incredible guides on how to run tiles. -
Tough spot because making chases more interactive might inadvertently make 1v1s for survivor too strong meaning you would have to make solo gens even more boring by making them take longer. Just a lot of mechanics would need to be changed in the game to favor a more chase oriented game which I don't know if the devs are willing to do.
-
Or just hear me out… they just play out the game normally. Getting robbed happens to both sides but you see far less killers go stand in the corner because of it.
-
While annoying yes there's nothing you can really do about it other than hope for better teammates to get you in that situation less.
-
Slugging is a very important tool for lower tier killers. Make that less viable and it will be even less fun to play those killers. Also if you get slugged for over a minute as survivor thats most likely on your team other than the situation of sluggin for the 4k with the last 2 survivors.

It shouldn't be added. The Entity is close enough to a spider. Many people don't like Spiders and will dc as some do against Plague. This topic has been brought up countless times.
Nah it should eventually be added. The game is marketed as a survival horror PVP. It should be common sense that if you have such a bad phobia that a fake image on a screen can scare you that much… you just shouldn't play anything that could cause it to happen.
-
She will without a doubt become a bottom 5 killer if the changes go through. 10% hinder should stay but haste goes. Raise the skill floor and not lower the skill ceiling to only as high as Danny Devito. Let alone 1 scan line and being able to be seen from beyond 16 meters is already a huge gut to her kit. Maybe they really want people to be able to play with their monitors turned off against SM.
-
Because you can remove traps or crouch over them because shes not built to be a chase killer.
-
Yeah no. We had an efficient self heal meta with CoH and that killed M1's. Sure you only have limited heals with medkits but 2-3 is all you really need if everyone is running a medkit. Medkits I would say is still by far the best item to bring BECAUSE of the self heal.

What exactly do you want to tell me with that? Distortion was always a fair perk and not unlimited (only recharges a tiny bit too fast).
I hope they add the aura is shown status effect from 2 vs 8 in normal mode, because dying by nowhere to hide is unfair, when you don‘t know the killer saw you sitting in the corner.
Another thing everyone seems to forget, distortion was the thing that kept aura reading in a fair and not super annoying spot. After this nerf aura reading pick rate will rise and then it has a too high pick rate and all of a sudden behavior gutts every aura perk. This is just how behavior handles things and we all now that.
I was telling you Distortion was an overtuned perk. One perk to counter every aura reading perk just because 3-4 were strong. The fact you could block 3 instances of aura reading while being able to easily get back stats because being in a terror radius isnt hard made it too much.

Do you have data for that? Most times I've encountered aura read builds killers get a lot of pressure from their won chases and make better decisions. It's the early game which is the problem (something that needs looked at still)
the 2v8 reveal noise notification would be really helpfulIt's just the natural order of games. Aura reading is only as good as the skill level of the survivor. If the survivor doesn't just brainlessly run into you or immerses after you see their aura cross map then what good did that aura reading do?

Like distortion now?! The funny thing is even shadow step is better than distortion now and this perk is trash.
Lightborn should only make blinding take 100% longer and get shadowborn incorporated.
Lets see what distorion can do…. hide aura AND tell you literally what perks/addons the killer has. I'd say thats already a very good effect. People always seem to gloss over that fact.

Lightborn is even worse and is a 100% counter while distortion is not
Lightborn should only work once then you essentially have a dead perk slot.
-
@Mr_K said:
They sure took an axe to this perk when it didn't really deserve it.
Nah it was a long time coming. One perk to basically know which aura reading perk(s) or addons the killer has as soon as they use it. Was overtuned since the buff to regenning tokens.

Yeah right. Killers have a power even without any perks. All survivors have is the maps Bhvr keeps making worse and worse so they can make sure the game is always tilted in the killers favor.
Perkless killer as most of the roster will NOT win you matches against above average survivors. Meanwhile perkless survivor can fair mighty well.

It can be good sometimes but its not worth taking a perk that has a very good chance to be a dead perk slot.
I mean a dead perk slot on survivor is a lot more lenient than a dead perk slot on killer.

Only if it will work as non obsession…
Might be wrong but it never says you HAVE to be the obsession to reveal the killers aura. Only when you are the obsession it starts that 30 second timer while the first effect is something else entirely.
-
3 words… Object of Obsession.
-
Yeah idk the 5% head start seems fine but 20% repair speed bonus? Guess I'll just perma run legion.
-
Good change. Overtuned perk that was more of a hinderance to solo Q anyway.

Not true. In the last 3 days I’ve seriously have 18 matches where the killers ran 3 aura and Iron Maiden so people couldn’t hide in lockers
Ok so the killer was basically throwing unless it was someone like nurse or billy.

Practically any environmental object and any action taken now has an aura reading perk associated with it, up to and including 'losing the killer in chase'. If you try to hide off the assumption that they cannot see you, you are likely to give the killer a free hit if you gambled wrong on which of the aura reading perks the killer might have.
It would just be better for survivors if they knew the killer can see their exact location at all times, because you won't try and hide and get punished for it.
EDIT: Plus, you're not going to bother with all of these perks that -just- got buffed because they're literally invalidated by aura reading anyway.
"It would be better for survivors if they knew the killer can see your exact location" gosh gee willickers… its almost like thats a perk survivors can run called Object of Obsession that shows the killers aura whenever the killer can see your aura. Either way the point is there is MUCH worse things than a killer running multiple aura reading perks.
Also half of distortion still does it's job well which is basically TELLING YOU which aura reading addon/perk the killer has. -
If a killer is running more than 2 aura reading then they are basically throwing.
-
Oh yeah it's no secret that players giving up do inflate kill rates. I've seen streams where 1/2 games a survivor gives up first hook despite having a good first chase.
-
The only killers that are running full gen regression are nurses possibly blights and people doing it for fun. Nothing beats 2-3 slowdowns depending on the killer.
-
Nah. I would agree if you couldnt leave the game prematurely by giving up on hook, then sure take both at the same time.

Zombies are a good timewaster, and the addons make them better at doing that.
That's assuming they dont just keep getting stuck or walking in gen dead zones which sticking around gens is their best use.
-
So licker tongue got moved from a good addon down to niche. Well I guess hold W is back in play against nemi.
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
I mean he's got a good amount of decent addons still. Marvin's Blood, Damaged Syringe, the zombie movespeed addons, the wristbands, Ink Ribbon and Licker Tongue is still pretty good I think.
Zombie addons are just not good when zombies aren't good to begin with.
-
This game has had audio issue till the end of time. My favorite is when they sound like they're right next to you, the sound dims only slightly then nothing, then they vanish.
-
Uh no.
-
Yeah idk why they don't just make the hitbox go to at least knee height so this isnt possible. Like if you can get vortexed by a survivor and some object that should 100% be a hit unless its a lunge. Especially considering demo literally holds the arms out wide going for a big bear hug.
-
If they had a different way to earn distortion stacks it would by far be better. In its current state it is overtuned and straight up just promotes horrible team gameplay.

I mean to be fair, CoH was a 50% Self-Care (+50-100% bonus speed on top) for the Entire Team, whereas Self-Care was 35-50% during the time they were both around. CoH was broken OP from its inception, and should have started as 25% Self-Care with the aura and 50-100% Altruistic boost.
Self-Care now should probably be 40-45%, to match all other 6.1 perk nerfs that were needlessly double nerfed, and are slowly getting fixed over time. I do think 50% was too much, but 45% would be fine at the highest (so that ally healing is still faster in terms of gen seconds).
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3794842#Comment_3794842
Sadly we have to balance some things around bad Killer and Survivor players, so that we don't kill the game itself. If no one joins, then sweatlords scare all the casual players off, then sweatlords aren't bringing enough money to the game (since they more often have more time than money to use on the game), thus the game shuts down. A certain level is needed that bad Killer and Survivors simply need to learn, but I don't expect everyone to explain to me macro level strategies with any level of competency below 100 hours.
All 3 healing speed nerfs to CoH still was too strong. self healing at 16/18.3/21.3 seconds was still way too efficient for just one perk. Let alone self care being 40-45% would still be strong in the right hands.

And? Killers nowadays just bring Franklin's and Weave Attunment making med kits and other items and Add-ons just a waste... 2 perks ran together make any item brought into a trial worthless.
Heres the thing, you can completely counter franklins attunement by just…. dropping your item in a corner now they dont get the aura reading in vital places of the map and you lose out on a 5th perk. It's not that bad.
-
CoH proved why this was just bad to make self healing so good. Even now syringe is still a great addon because its a free heal at the cost of taking 2 addon slots or just 1 if you use the medkit to heal another teammate.

I never knew it was possible to do 2 different hitboxes on one character model. This would make medium vaults not so awful to vault. I would love for this to be a thing
Well kind of 2. I guess the bounding box is a hitbox for the environment and nothing else.
-
@HexHuntressThighs said:
I can’t believe we have to keep going through this but this really just comes from ignorance on how the Hitboxes are in this game. Bhvr needs to release an official diagram of Hitboxes to put this to rest, but I’ll explain it for you. Since even some veterans don’t know this either.
The Hitboxes are a solid cylinder that is bigger than the survivor on every side. The Hitboxes also follow about 2 feet behind moving survivors that’s why you hear advice to throw projectiles at the survivors but or feet. This appears even more egregious when a survivor is injured as they slouch over and the Hitboxes does not follow the slouch.
But if you fix this and have the Hitboxes for the survivors be more accurate then you would not be able to loop tight at all and killers would become much stronger. You could shrink the survivors Hitboxes but then it would lead to scenarios where the projectile clips through the survivor model but doesn’t count as a hit.
You could easily fix the hitboxes and not effect looping. Just do what TF2 does and make 2 boxes, one is your actual hitbox and the 2nd is a bounding box which is what determines your interaction with the environment. So the pill would be the bounding box while an actual hitbox would be added to surviovrs.

It's an over-rated perk. It does nothing if the killer isn't tunneling. If they are tunneling it probably won't save you.
It was never meant to save you. It is meant to buy your team a little more time when you are tunneled.

According to BHVR, most killers and survivors are average (not below average or above average). And at the highest MMR the game is killer sided. This is based on stats BHVR has given us. We don’t really need to speculate or guess or approximate. They gave us the stats and it shows that the game favors killers at all levels.
The only time i see the game being killer sided at the "highest" level of play is nurse. Every one else is just survivor because 4 people bringing meta is way stronger than 1 blight or spirit bringing meta. You can't claim "highest level of play" on BHVRs stats when the game is literally soft capped for MMR.
-
If both sides are of average or above average skill and higher (as most killers) its survivor sided. The thing is a majority of the dbd community has shown to be around below average to average.
-
They have every right to give you a penalty. They give YOU access to play their game for a price under their conditions. Conditions you agree too whenever you launch the game.
