The point I think OP is trying to make, is that that person on the hook will die, and all the gens will not be finished by the time they die, unless NO OTHER THINGS IN THE GAME have been done and everyone is humping gens already with no intention of getting the unhooked person off the hook to begin with, before they even know the killer camped. The killer will likely have another person hooked before 4 gens are finished, if two people are on the same gen, which happens extremely often due to how limited in number gens are and how survivors generally spawn together. People who claim "Just do the gens and leave and take your 3 man" aren't doing their math. If it takes 80 seconds to do one generator, and 3 people are on a generator each(not assuming anyone is with another person on a gen), that'd be 3 and a half gens worth of progress. This removes searching from chests, doing totems, and any other thing that survivors were given to do in a match. So this scenario would only happen in a perfect world. IN A PERFECT WORLD against camping, this is saying 2 people will likely die, and 2 people will likely escape, REGARDLESS of circumstances. Because survivors "shouldn't try to save against a camping killer" meaning that once that second person who is being tunneled to death gets hooked, the other two should leave. This is why it's not a "free escape" when someone's camping.

I always hear this word "entitled". Of course, it's because they're "entitled" that they feel bad for a fellow human who is having the most miserable experience in the game because a killer decided not to let them said game. What it seems to me is that killers are "entitled" to have their one kill regardless of how miserable of an experience they are making to another player. Almost like, dare I say it, griefing?

The killer killing you isn't "griefing".

Also, when I'm playing survivor, I'm fine with sitting on a hook while my team finishes everything because the killer can't stop staring at me. That's not "the most miserable experience", it's just amusing.

One more thing: If survivors would stop being so goddamn thirsty for unhooks, killers wouldn't seem to be "camping". Seriously, if you're going to follow the killer around like a lost puppy and constantly unhook people 2.3 seconds after they've been hooked, don't call it "camping" when they turn around and smack one of you.

(Seriously, that happens at least half of my games when I play killer, and then invariably the survivors whine that I "camped" or "tunneled". The hell do they expect me to do, just pretend I didn't notice the unhook that happened almost literally within my lunge range?)

  • "Half the roster"

    Eh?

  • Yeah, at least on PC I can turn my gamma up to eleventy billion and at least see a little bit of that cursed map.

Feel bad for folks on console.

  • Survivor isn't "easy" by any means. That said, a well-played SWF group is the closest thing to unbeatable that there is.

Of course, we can't do anything about that because a well-played killer against a group of pugs is also extremely overwhelming.

So, eh. We've got what we've got.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/148900/a-noed-novel

What you described was entirely the survivors fault. In the event of face camping, you do the gens and leave. You're not entitled to a 4 man escape. Plus changing noed will do nothing to stop this, because they will just use bubba.

    This is the main point.

The number of times I've ended up with more kills than I deserved simply because survivors felt entitled to a full 4-man escape and hung around longer than they should have - and then raged in chat after about how I was being so unfair somehow - is staggering.

Just take the escape. Stop trying to make every match a "flawless victory".

  • I actually wouldn't mind that happening to me more often, if the endgame chat wasn't always, "LOL GOTEM NOOB TRASH KILLER LOLOLOL" afterwards.

Playing against better players is fine, playing against people who are just there to boost their self-esteem by steamrolling low rank players is crap.

  • I definitely don't think I'm entitled to a 4k every game - or ANY game for that matter. Certainly not as much as survivors seem to feel entitled to dictating my play and surviving every game.

That said, I really wish they'd just give all survivors voice chat and balance the game accordingly. Yeah, I seem to remember hearing that they don't want to do that, but I still wish they'd consider it. Because right now, a good communicating SWF group is just dominating to the point of near-absurdity, but an average pug survivor group is just a bunch of lambs to the slaughter.

The absurd rank disparity that SWF allows isn't great, either. New killers getting put against a SWF of purple-red rank survivors is ridiculous.

  • Freddy's teleport is really good, there's no doubt about it.

Calling it "Mindless" compared to other killers seems silly, though. I don't know what's so big brain about (most) other killer abilities. I feel like I'm doing more thinking with the teleport than with many other killers. Simple mind games like not teleporting at all but tricking survivors into running toward you with it until you've conditioned them to think that all teleports are fake, and then actually teleport when they're committing to a gen.

Does it take as much practice as Nurse blinks? No, of course not. But I find it more engaging than almost every other ability in the game.

If anything, I'd say make his trap spam require a little more commitment. Right now nothing keeps me from just sprinting at max speed and flinging traps everywhere I please without a second thought to the opportunity cost. When I play Hag I want to throw traps everywhere, but I have to balance that with the time spent doing so and such. Granted, Hag's traps can also be more impactful, but it still feels strange to not ever ask, "Should I lay a trap or do something else?" with Freddy.

  • Do people really complain about NOED because they think there's something wrong with the Exposed status? Or is it because of the timing of the Hex, where they start feeling entitled to escape (And teabag in the exit knowing there's nothing the killer can do, even if they're downed) and want to blame something when they still get hooked?

  • I pretty much always say "GG everyone" even if I stomped or got stomped. A game being one-sided doesn't mean it was "bad". Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

That said, survivors almost literally never have anything nice to say. Absolute best case is they say nothing at all. Usually it's just complaints about literally everything I did, or "trash killer lol" if anyone escaped.

I'm at the point where I'm just turning chat off, because there's no upside to it. Even if I compliment someone on a good play, they just come back with salt or insults. Even if I give the last person hatch, or down everyone after the gates open, but carry them all to the gate just because I'm feeling nice, it's salt and rage in the chat after about how I was a noob or I "camped" or "tunneled" or killer OP or whatever else.

So meh. Useless to even attempt to interact with other players, honestly.

  • Pretty much the only reason I'll "camp" is when the other survivors are going full on drooling and slavering for those unhook points, so I hook one person and the other three are just there in my face instantly.

At that point I might not WANT to camp, but what do you want me to do? Just walk away from all four survivors? Hah. Of course I'm going to stand there and get all the free hits they're handing to me in the pursuit of unhook points.

Slugging survivor #3 so you can 4k is 100% toxic. It is a lazy killer who doesn't want to have a fair match. The 4th survivor should have a run at the hatch. That is the 1v1 aspect at the end, the sliver of chance to still get out. Slugging #3 is just a cheap play to cheat #4 out of a fair end of match.

Gen rushing is not a thing, it is a survivor objective to work gens, it is the killer objective to kick them and chase survivors off. The killers need to engage in destruction, chase, hit and sacrifice. 4 objectives, not "just killing". Survivors need to be altruistic, finish gens, break totems, engage in chases as objectives. Blood points are this games currency, literally the only reward that matters. You can not buy a character with a pip. And to tunnel and slug survivors throughout the match and cheat them out of the opportunity to even play the game while claiming "it is a strategy" is ridiculous.

Teabagging is toxic behavior, I was not limiting my reference of toxicity to killers. So is flashlight tag teaming and such. Before the toolbox/sabotage nerf, 4 man SWF sabo builds were fairly crappy (although kind of a gray area as far as toxic, at least an exploit). You also stated that a "coordianted team" could rotect a erson being tunneled. But most teams are not 4 man SWF, I am in there together with 1 other erson sometimes, and there is really no excuse to tunnel whether team mates can block or not.

Slugging #3 to get a kill on #4 is not "toxic". It's a legitimate gameplay strategy that's perfectly within the rules and isn't being done just to harass someone or waste their time.

Slugging #4 just to stand there and annoy them for a prolonged period of time IS "toxic". The killer is just being a jerk at that point, there's no reason to be doing it.

Very different situations. People on this forum really need to learn how to differentiate between things you don't like and things that are "toxic".

Ok then running noed cuz you cant get a kill as killer that's a wuss move you lose you lose it use ghost face freddy is over powered billy clown wrath spirit cannibal the only killers I tolerate is ghost face because I know him plague demogorgan oni I cant catch a break from the doctor cuz this whole developers dont think about survivors what's next getting rid of pallets and hatch the day they do that I'm done

How do you guys always equate "using a perk I don't like" or "playing a killer I don't like" with behavior that's actually toxic?

I really don't get this forum. It's just unreasonable people being unreasonable at all times.

  • It's funny how obvious certain people are about their bias and entitlement.

Yes, I DCed once as a killer when I was new(er) because I got red rank people that were just trolling and refusing to end the game and I wasn't good enough at the time to catch anyone. (They even said after the game that this was their goal) But it was still a ######### move on my part. I was frustrated and did something I consider to be wrong and I wouldn't try to justify it at all.

I'm not perfect, but I won't try to justify my failings.

Some people here though, jeez. It's crazy to read the mental gymnastics to justify their actions just because they didn't want to "lose".

  • Nice!!

I complained about this a lot, but that's legit worse than any matchup I've had.

Escaping isn't the survivors' job, and I personally make sure to perform my duties such as generators, healing, and saves. How is it obtuse to explore the many facets of this game?

"Hey guys, the goal in Football isn't to score points! It's to pass the ball and run the ball and kick the ball and block your opponent!"

    Gosh, you're just so clever.

Ok you see them but they can be really butts and close the hatch right in front of you then hook you and then pull you away and make you crawl for freedom then Nope denied I dunno what rank you are but I've been purple and they dont care all they care about is 4k and gg ex or get gud when they know they have the upper hand

Yes, harassing a survivor at the end of the game is unacceptable, I agree. If a there's one survivor downed and the killer carries them to the hatch, closes the hatch, and then stands there while you bleed out, that's rude as hell.

Just "trying hard" or using certain addons or playing a certain killer is perfectly fine, though.

Lord knows that flashlights piss me off occasionally, but I don't call them "toxic". They just happen to be annoying to me personally.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1226262#Comment_1226262

I will defend that, absolutely. Why should a solo survivor having a bad team and/or a toxic killer mean they automatically have to die? The hatch is there, in part, to provide a means to escape in a situation where you're 1v1 with the killer, as the killer has the complete upper-hand at this point.

The notion that the hatch is a free escape is stupid. You still have to find it first, which in itself is dangerous and stacked against you, since the killer is faster, has already been traversing then whole map with a higher likelihood of seeing it spawn, and if the killer is close to it when you find it, they can block you from being able to enter, even though you cannot block them from being able to close it. If the killer has killed all 3 survivors with absolutely no gens done, something has gone horribly wrong and it doesn't mean its that survivors fault by any means.

I have definitely been in a match where, for example, an insta-down killer decided to face camp the first hooked survivor and two idiot teammates run in to save and get themselves hooked as well. There I am, sitting on a gen, watching them with Kindered hang on a hook to death. A few seconds before the last guy drifts off in the Entity's grip the killer can be seen finally leaving to go shut the hatch - something that hasn't spawned yet so I had no opportunity to locate it before hand. So there we are...a killer who can run around the map faster than I can and without worry vs. me. It really comes down to RNG at that point. More often than not the survivor doesn't find it and ends up dead anyway. The entire mechanics of end-game are totally stacked against the last survivor, so if by some miracle the survivor does get the hatch - they earned it. There is nothing entitled about it.

It shouldn't be an "automatic" anything, which is think is the point here.

People arguing for survivors seem to think that they're absolutely entitled to escape if they had a "bad team" or "mean killer" or something.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1226294#Comment_1226294

I'm just looking for where it says that this is the killer's whole job. Once I find it, I'll be plenty disillusioned.

Ok, well then it's not the survivors job to escape either, so please hang around and do other things so I can hit you.

What? None of this makes any sense? No, it does not. Stop being obtuse just because you want to argue for one side.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1226209#Comment_1226209

Reasonable, but what evidence do you have that killing survivors is the killer's whole job. The only other reward in game is bloodpoints, which are gained by completing actions other than ones that lead to the survivor's death such as using many killers' powers, opening exit gates, breaking pallets, and chasing survivors to name a few.

Are we really at the level of tribal delusion that we're gonna argue, "But killing survivors isn't really what killers are supposed to do, guys!"

  • @Ratchetcooper said:

Ya know it's bad enough we survivors get degraded so harsh that we have no choice to tell our teammates to dc especially against doctor billy and any other rugged killer we cant seem to avoid because people love spamming m2's or at least be a genuine person if we kobe off hook let the person escape noooooo its 4k city then gg ez spammers galore and baby sit us in front of hook so no one escapes or you can hit us as you laugh at your tv dbd is so killer sided our gen speeds are gonna get nerfed and gen rushing will be stripped away why do people run ds and inner strength

    What is this post?

"Why can't killers be genuine people and not kill us, it's not right!"

It's so telling that almost every example of "killers being toxic" on this forum involves, "They played a killer I don't like." or "They killed me when I thought I was getting away." or "They used an add-on I don't like."

The thing is, I see killers giving the last survivor hatch all the time. I sure as hell never see survivors give a killer anything. Really don't know what you guys expect.

  • Are people really so tribal that they're seriously going to defend disconnecting/rage quitting because, "It screwed over a killer, so haha!"

  • I'm using it because I'm leveling Hag and I don't have any other regression perks and I thought Ruin was actually pretty ok.

In all honesty, is it truly THAT bad? It seems pretty useful, I don't have to choose between kicking a gen or chasing, and when survivors just panic and leave a gen because of a skill check fail or popping one of my nearby traps, I get regression on those without even being near them.

But again, I'm a pretty big noob, so it might seem a lot better to me than it is.

Everyone knows survivors can't be toxic, holy art thou survivors.

Real talk, just had a game where 3 survivors in an SWF went into basement. First got punished for going for basement chest, and 2 others went suicide to try and unhook. one got free and got to use borrowed time on 2 people at once, and then when they all still died anyway (They were all rank 2-4 against me at rank 7), they called it bad game and said I was tunneling for just following people who were running blatantly to the basement.

My games tonight: (Different sides as I had 3 Rituals to do)

Survivor: Pretty standard, escaped, gg's in chat after.

Survivor: Also standard, also escaped, gg's in chat after.

Survivor: Got killed, gg's in chat after.

Survivor: Downed as last one alive, killer took me to hatch. gg's in chat after.

Survivor: Killer just goofing off, didn't hit us more than a couple times, let us all go, laughing in chat after.

Killer: First survivor I see drops a pallet and teabags. Runs to next pallet and teabags. Mostly continues this way. Exit opens and group circles around the gate teabagging. "lol killer get git lol nub" in chat after.

Killer: Played against a small streamer and his group. Good game, no one was rude, gg's in chat after.

Killer: First guy I see runs to a pallet and teabags. Runs to next pallet and teabags. Runs to next one and teabags. I leave him alone but he continually walks out near me to bait me, I presume. Also has DStrike, so I assume he's the designated SWF team bait, but oh well. "######### killer tunneling me ######### noob ######### leave our friend alone" in chat after. They're all ~10 ranks above me, too.

Seriously, there's just something about survivors that causes them to act out. Maybe it's because they're always "protected" by having friends with them so everyone feels empowered to just let civility go because they have backup.

I dunno. I liked playing killer, but it's basically always a trollfest when I play killer and fairly friendly when I play survivor. So I'm driven more toward one than the other.

  • [Hex: Bleachicus Maximus]

All survivors clothing, skin, and hair becomes the brightest of whites while this totem remains.

  • @Traslogan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1224133#Comment_1224133

The problem with hexes is RNG. It gladly spawns them in the open fields or on hills with no cover so everyone can see it from 60 meters away. I stopped using it when I got 4 games in a row where it spawned a survivor at my hex and I Was losing my perk inside 15s of the game each time.

Nothing will be done to help killers though. If it inconveniences SWF, it inconveniences their money and so we're just taken for schmucks.

Honestly, it seems like most players (And the developers, perhaps) see the survivor side as the "real" game. The equivalent of the "canon ending" in a game that has multiple possible endings.

  • This is a bait thread from the devs to help them see what to nerf next. Beware.

    Kappa

  • When I play killer, I don't think I've ever NOT seen survivors teabagging at pallets or exit gates, dancing around at the exit for 30 seconds instead of leaving, spamming GGEZ at the end, even had one group pull a 200 IQ teabag where they all lined up across the map when I was about to hook someone and all 3 teabagged the whole time I could see their auras from BBQ. Guess they assumed I was running it or knew somehow? Eh.

That last one was kinda funny, but it's pretty much all the norm.

When I play survivor, the killers tend to...just kill me. Maybe even give me the hatch at the end, which is pretty nice. (And I sure as hell have never seen the last survivor give a "free kill" to the killer!) Every now and then a killer will harass the last survivor and leave them on the ground, pick them up and drop them a bunch, all that nonsense, but that seems to be the exception rather than the norm. (It's telling that things like, "They used a mori!" are examples of a killer being "toxic" in people's minds.)

I really think that the nature of the game just encourages the behavior from survivors more so than from the killers, for a variety of gameplay and psychological factors.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1221916#Comment_1221916

This just sounds dumb. Survivors rush gens. Survivors rush hooks. No, survivors just do their objectives. And neither is particularly toxic. It's literally how survivors are supposed to play the game. Also, killers need survivors to off hook in order to rehook - how they are supposed to play the game. The idea that survivors shouldn't be doing gens as quickly as possible or off hooking when you walk away is pretty strange. Putting the word "rush" in front of everything survivors do has become a way to indicate their actions are some unfair afront to killers, and that's just not the case.

Who are you even addressing with this? I didn't say a thing about anything being toxic, or anything about doing gens.

It's just that if all the survivors are going to hover around the hook every time, of course I'm just going to hang around and smack them all for doing that. It's not that I'd WANT to camp a hook, it's just that in situations where they do that, why would I NOT just hang around and beat them up for it?

And yet when such a situation arises, they complain that I "camped" or "slugged" them.

  • I suppose the real answer is, "Just don't let it get to you."

It's not because of what killer you play, or anything you did. It's the matchmaking being wonky and players just playing like they always do. That's not going to change, no matter how much they claim it will.

Of course, I never take my own advice, and it's hard for me to not roll my eyes and get a little weary after the fourth consecutive, "Red rank SWF teabagger Claudettes against me at rank 17." Oh well.

  • "The opposite of whatever the killer ends up doing"

Or, at least, that's what I've learned from post-game chat.

  • Same answer that killers get when they ask what to do about certain loops: "Just don't be in that area."

It sounds snarky, but that's how it is.

Okay, but that's not the point you were making before. You attacked me for playing with friends, referring to it as "abusing an advantage." Then you implied that saying that it's a casual party game, which it is, or at least was originally meant to be, is hypocrisy and compared it to wanting unfair loops.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1221893#Comment_1221893

These kinds of comments were what I was reacting to. If your problem was just the matchmaking, THAT'S what you should have said. And I agree, this game's matchmaking is a disgrace; there's other way to describe it. It consistently fails both sides. And somehow, it seems to have actually gotten worse over the years. You're absolutely right that it's unfair to newer players. But that's not the fault of SWF's. The devs already said they were making it so that the game matches based on the highest person's rank, and not the average rank of the group like it used to. Now we just have to wait and see if they can actually do it right for once.

I didn't "attack" you, I simply said it's an advantage.

You can choose to believe you're not using the advantage, but you certainly are. Perhaps not to the extent that others do, but it's certainly being used. I highly doubt you don't say, "Killer's over there." to your friends on voice comms.

Is that bad in and of itself? No, it's fine. What it does seem to do is cause the matchmaking to have such odd results, which is mostly what I object to.

(That and people seem more willing to turn into total clowns when supported by three friends, but that's another story.)

Are you familiar with the game Hearthstone ? It's a card game with tons upon tons of RNG involved in so many levels, yet it is balanced enough for a competitive environment and it has a way better ranking system with bronze to Legend tiers and I can assure you even a super lucky bronze player can't win against an unlucky diamond player. If a game where something can say "do 30 random things (amongst 300+ options) with random targets" and still be balanced enough for the better player win, I'm almost sure that with enough balance tweaks a game where the only RNG is on map generation (with so many limitations these days) can be balanced towards competitive or casual gameplay (whatever way the Devs intend to go).

What? The very nature of Hearthstone is such that of course a lucky lower rank will beat a higher ranked person in a single game. Games like that are intentionally designed in that fashion, it's not even a secret.

Perhaps less well-known is the fact that in many "competitive scenes" surrounding these games, organizers work to ensure that the same well-known players maintain a certain level of visibility to give the illusion of some sort of great consistency, but oh well.

  • Serious question: What killer perks would be categorized as "second chance"? The nature of the game would seem to largely inhibit the development of such perks, as the killer doesn't rely on "chances" quite the way survivors do.

(An example of something that would seem to fit the bill would be, "Deactivate a generator" which of course doesn't exist.)

In essence, I think that's the core of the frustration. Most killer perks seem to revolve around the pursuit of running survivors out of "chances". There's a satisfaction in overcoming those "chances", so when that effort is erased at the touch of a button I suppose there's a natural feeling of frustrating.

This kind of commentary is where we get the idea from. You literally equated me playing a casual party game with my friends, the 10% of the time I do, with "abusing an advantage." That's what I reacted strongly to. And you're far from the first. If you, or anyone else, wants to debate game balance in a calm, rational way, then great. I'm always down for a good debate. But half the time I check, this forum genuinely seems to be nothing but toxic killer mains blatantly attacking me for having a different opinion than them, or for daring to play with my friends on occasion, and I'm sick of it. I've genuinely never seen the level of toxicity and entitlement that I've witnessed in this community (on both sides), and that's saying something.

I mean, you're still telling me how unimportant it all is. How everything should be chill. How you'd love a good debate.

All I'm doing over here is asking why the newbie experience consists mostly of being stomped by full lobbies of high rank people. Thinking of some way to mitigate it. Then you write a paragraph calling names, saying it's toxic, entitled, and so on.

I'm sorry if this doesn't really lend much credence to the whole, "Just a chill party game, relax!" narrative. I'd just prefer matchmaking to make more sense, like it does in most other games.

  • I think you guys are misreading what I said.

I was the killer. The survivors won handily, and one of them said they deranked due to a lack of emblems.

I've played plenty of actual team pvp games (Overwatch and R6, for example) and plenty more PvE games that happen to have a pvp mode (Destiny 2, Last of Us), and I've rarely seen lobby restrictions of any kind, especially not limiting how many people you can play with. The only kind I ever see is a limit on how much of a rank difference people can have, and even then, that's only in the Comp playlists. The majority of games I play are solo-queue anyways, which is how I know it's such a shitshow sometimes. More importantly, don't equate me actually enjoying a game with friends once in a while to "abusing" the game. My God man, check your entitlement before you try and argue game balance. This was designed to be a chill, casual party game, and it barely manages to be competent at that, and some of you want to treat it like a hardcore competitive game? It shouldn't even be anyone's main game, let alone something anyone takes that seriously, on either side. If you choose to spend all of your playtime in such a flawed game, instead of one of the many actually good, proper competitive games, that's on you, but get off your soapbox and stop telling people they're wrong for playing with their friends.

I never said you were "wrong", and I still don't know where people are getting ideas like "entitlement" and "egoistic" out of me simply wondering why the game behaves this way - especially with regards to new players.

It's telling how strongly some of you have reacted to mere discussion of this topic, even as you declare how unimportant the game is and how chill and casual it all should be.

  • Yeah, it's super weird that winning in a spectacular fashion actually seems to be punished by the game.

Had a survivor group run me over last night, and one of them said they deranked from it. That...seems wrong?

That's partly true, it does get used as a handwave by some Survivors who play hard as hell... but there is a large portion of the survivor base who are lifetime potatoes, who don't actually care about being better, who just look at the game that way. They'd be just as happy if all perks were unlocked from moment 1, and if killers were just a halfway good AI. Sorry, not saying they literally WANT that, but that they'd play and treat the game the same way, because to them, the killer isn't someONE to be beaten, it's just an obstacle (a someTHING ) to dodge on the way to escape with friends, like the xeno in alien isolation.

Yeah, it wouldn't be as big an issue if the matchmaking handled it.

CS:GO for example, you can't queue with a large disparity in ranks unless you have a full lobby, and then it matches you as if you were all the rank of the highest person in your lobby. So sure, you can do whatever you want, but you can't abuse your opponents with it. You can only take on the consequences yourself.

My second day playing DbD I was getting full lobbies of rank 3 people who rushed gens like mad and then just trolled and acted like clowns once they realized. But question why it works that way and the reply is, "Just a party game!"

Oddly enough, it stops being "Just a party game" as soon as I get any kind of upper hand. Then it's, "FU nub killer so lucky U lagswitcher #########!11!!" (Yes, I actually got accused of lagswitching when I dared to get a kill on one of these groups. Ok, I guess.)

That's the heart of a lot of dbd issues, including the surv vs killer mindset. Most survivor heavy players look at it as a party game, most killers see it as a pvp game. When one side plays a game as a fun distraction (often with friends) and the other side treats it as a competitive game all alone, you get a lot of discordance.

They say "Just a fun part game, brah!" but at the same time they're playing just as seriously as anyone else.

"Party game, brah!" is just a handwave. It's no different than saying, "Don't change infinite loops, it's just a game, no big deal!"

Be a good killer against good survivors. I have seen many of them destroying good swf teams. And yes, trying to stop friends to play together a game it's just stupid and egoistic. There's not only good swf teams. Plenty of teams are awful and they want to have just fun.

Where did you get, "egoistic" out of this topic?

Fact is, most team online games have some form of preventing abuse with lobbies. Either limiting how many you can bring, or ensuring that you can't abuse a disparity in ranks, or something similar.

DbD might be the only game I've ever seen where you can stack a full lobby of high ranked people and get matched with a newbie. It's weird.

C mon, do you think that the devs will ever touch swf? This is the core of this game pretty much. By sabotage them, they will sabotage their own game. I don't mind swf's, trying to stop or punish them from playing together a game. From you who want swf's out, remember this is JUST A GAME, you're not real killer. Chill out.

"It's no big deal, it's just a game! Unless you're talking about messing with the things I like, then it's a huge deal and you need to chill out!"

  • It's funny, people complain if a killer camps a hook, and people complain if a killer slugs.

At the same time, if I just hook someone and walk away, all I did most of the time was give them a free health state because you know there's someone five meters away just waiting.

At some point I have to change my strategy if survivors are gonna rush every hook. But then they whine that I was "toxic". I don't know what the answer is, but meh. You can't have it both ways.

  • You can't tunnel what you can't see.

30 minutes later Shinobiette will still be there, six inches from you, long after everyone else escaped.

The devs are afraid to release strong killers. When a killer is just coming out they tend to nerf them shortly after release like old Freddy. If they use the PTB they nerf them just before release, despite everyone's feedback. The devs don't want to make a strong killer they want to make a "fun" killer. I don't find being looped for 3 gens fun.

We all gettin' looped out here.

I don't know how many people here have played WoW, but I've often compared playing certain killers to playing a Warrior against four Frost Mages.

A queue limit is a bad idea. I have three friends who I enjoy playing with, on the rare occasion we're actually all online at the same time. Not to sweat it out, but because we just enjoy each other's company. If I couldn't play with them anymore, I'd objectively play less DBD, and so would many others. It is supposed to be a casual party game, after all.

"Ok, but that advantage is fun and I don't actually abuse it, honest! So don't touch it."

I guess. Some restrictions on lobbies are fairly common in other games, DbD might be the only game I've seen where it can be so thoroughly abused to screw with your opponent.

People seem to forget that a voice chat system wouldn't mean you're required to participate in it. Like Overwatch, or almost any other pvp game with a team chat, you can choose to join or leave said chat. And yes, it would be helpful long term. Yes, the 5% of games that have 4-man SWF's are cancer for one side, but solo queue is practically unplayable for the other side sometimes. Anything to close that gap is a good thing.

It really does feel like it's a case of "all or nothing" with regards to survivors.

As a killer, I either get a 4-man SWF of red rank people who I can't touch, or I get a group of 4 randoms who basically take turns walking into my weapon.

If it were somehow possible to smooth it out a little, that'd be nice. Maybe enable in-game communication, but put a limit on how many people you can queue with. (Two out of four, for example)

So we have to wait months for "content" to just get the game broken again with the new updates? I also never forgot when they released mettle of man to sell Ash, then when everyone bought him, they nerfed it. This is a good game and has potential, but the devs are scammers.

That's pretty standard for games that release new stuff like this. Release it in a state where everyone wants it, then nerf it.
