Moris, Instaheals and Keys - None of them are Balanced and probably never will be.
That said, A little Imbalance is okay like a single Mori or one person using an Insta heal. But the problem with the game is that for survivors you have to remember there's 4 people on the team, That one insta heal can become 4 which is very unbalanced just like an ebony mori. Then you have Keys which give instant escape once hatch spawns...
Personally I'd just like to see Keys and Ebony Moris gone while Keeping insta heals and Single Moris just for some variation and excitment in trials.
-
The thing I don't understand is why this has become a reoccurring problem....
-
I think everyone in the thread has said is perfecty. As long as SWF continues to be game braking, The complaining will continue until the devs actually decide to do something which is unlikely.

Because shes hard to counter efficiently even if you know what your doing. So everyone yells for a nerf so they can get a easier game. Sad part is she has a bug letting you know she's in phase. Yet people still can't seem to figure her out. Her biggest strength is chases and mind games. Yet her single strongest weakness is actually a competent stealth player. People dont want to adapt to using stealth they prefer to loop a killer who effectively is designed to have the best chase potential outside of Nurse in the game.
I completely agree. It's honestly such a shame that Majority of survivor players refuse to play stealthy, The game could utilize stealthy gameplay and bring in some vairety to trials and killers but all anyone wants to do is loop and if a Killer can shut down loops their instantly seen as OP and needing nerfs when there is counterplay in place but it's outside of their playstyle.
Stealthy players against Spirit are a nightmare, Spirit is the killer I play the most and a Calm Spirit Urban evading team who know how to run from a spirit is very difficult to go against.
-
I love her, Her power can be used in chase but also help give map pressure. My only issue with her is prayer beads, While I think it's fun to have a scary game like that once in a while I can see how it can be a bit OP.
I don't understand the hate around her lately from survivors. Not every Killer needs a Direct counter it's asymmetrical for a reason. I feel like if they added more counterplay to spirit it'd wreck her, Her power is kind of fragile that way.
-
It should be a hold down button not mashing space. People don't like to mash theyre controllers or keyboards. They should have the option not to.
-
I really think they'd benefit from less dragged out release of chapters. Waiting weeks between the announcements, streams, PTB and then finally the Actual Release makes people loose interest, I know myself I can feel the hype I have dying down gradually.
-
Honestly Indicators of every survivors current actions would be a huge step to closing the gap between SWF and Solo.
Sadly, I don't think we're even close to seeing an attempt to close that gap yet if ever.
-
That's called RNG, Sometimes there too close and go in the killers favor and sometimes they're too far and go in the survivors favor.
If gates were always on opposite sides of the match it'd be a 50/50 on escaping since most killers cant make it across the map in the time it takes to open a gate, that's a pretty high percentage for your third chance at escaping. Leaving it to RNG is fine.
-
Happens with Huntress too if you M1 them they get mad for some illogical reason 😂
-
Chains? I wanted Christmas Lights!
-
Release will probably be Mid September depending on if the PTB is this week or next.
-
No Problem :D
The buffs I'd like to see from her is to be like she was in PTB before they nerfed her for seemingly no reason. Remove the slow down on Charging, Releasing and Holding Vomit. At least this makes her a threat without her power up in the beginning of the match so she has some pressure.
-
She's decent but It all comes down to the survivors.
If the Survivors don't cleanse they can deny her of her true power and leave her as a Loopable M1 killer with no power, on the plus side this makes all survivors one hit but if the survivors are good at Looping then the Plauge is going to struggle to get that one hit.
-
Yep, Most my games are in the Corn Maps, I can't stand them.
I'll never understand why they decided to do corn fields knowing Killer's have First Person Camera and survivors third person.
-
Nothing wrong with Defending a Hook, Especially when the Exit gates are open or even if all Gens are done.
If you don't have NOED there's zero reason to go for another person and let them get the save, That's just how the game is made, It's not your fault.
What you did is not bannable, They just got mad that they weren't able to save their friend is all.

I think the devs answered this in their first Q&A after Switch announcement and they said that they are not allowing cross platform progress
That's a shame, Guess I'll stick with PC then.

Hm. Would I be willing to pay nearly $60 to get the entirety of the game + all the DLC Killers and Survivors (not including Stranger Things) on PC so I can jump ship from PS4? Tough question...
I'm asking myself the same question with the Switch. I would much rather play on the switch than PC just for my own reasons but I can't warrant starting all my Killers/Survivors all over again and Paying again for the base game and all the DLC, It's just too expensive.
I wish with dedicated Servers they'd give us Dbd Accounts to log into on any Platform, There doesn't have to be cross play just One account to focus on.
-
It depends, Kill Wise I think 2 is a Draw and 3+ is a Win.
In terms of the Overall Game, If I've had fun then I've won. As Killer I find it a lot harder to have fun just because of all the micromanaging you have to do but as survivor even If I end up dying I usually still end up having a fun.
-
Honestly not just trapper, A lot of the Killers could be in much better spots if they had some add ons as base or just even some number changes in their powers.
The only reason I can think of is that the Devs don't want to change too much at once. Most changes wouldn't take long at all but the Devs are notoriously slow at Changes to the game no matter how simple.
-
That would be awful but not far from what's possible right now.
You earn plenty of bloodpoints in a trial to get a new item from your bloodweb to use in every single game, Ontop of that there's multiple chests inside every game with items waiting for you, And Finally, if only use 99% of your item and you escape with it you get to keep it.
Really there shouldn't be a reason for you not to have an Item every single trial already.
-
Pig has some things going for her with her stealth and how traps slow down the game.
I'd argue the worst is Doc or Clown. Clowns only ability is to slightly slow you down and Doctor's while it has some interesting mechanics it falls flat and doesn't do all that much either.

Counterplay, basically.
But wraiths only power is his invisibility, If you see him you've countered him and thanks to his Shimmer that's incredibly easy to do. Flashlights Burns in my opinion are unnecessary, and an outdated concept.
-
Ebony moris can be tough, I'd like to see them go along with Keys to be honest.
But NOED, That's the survivors fault if it procs. You had all game to do totems, They only take 14 seconds. Treat every game like there's NOED and you'll never have to worry about it again.
-
I'm running NOED just to slow down the game, If survivors decide not to do totems and rush trough Gens I get NOED if they actually take the time to do dull totems then I get an extra 70 seconds added to the game. It's a win win. I want them to expect NOED and cleanse.
It's a lot more effective then ruin that can be cleansed in the first 20 seconds.
Ultimately it's down to gen times and how fast survivors can finish heir objective in comparison to killers. Killers have to Chase and Down Survivors 12 times - Depending on the loops that can take a long time, Generators on the other hand can be done incredibly fast when people just sit on them and wait for adrenaline.
-
Spirit and Wraith, I wish Wraith was more viable he's so fun to play.
-
They'll still work against non stealth killers. The whole reason for this change was because Stealth Killers were just too easily detected thanks to perks like this, more specifically Object of Obsession.
-
It's already hard enough to keep track of survivors when people purposefully choose the same character and dress the same, While It would be interesting I'd rather not go against the same few survivors all the time.
-
I was extremely disappointed by his power, I'm tired of charge times. Every killer after clown has had a Charge time, Freddy and now the Demegorgon included.

As I believe Peanits pointed out if you're downing multiple survivors within a 40 second span then you're doing very well already. Surge is just the icing on the cake. There are also often 2 or 3 gens within a 32m radius
Calling Cruel Confinement situational is odd. Generators bring completed is a pretty common occurrence. Comradarie is an example of a very situational perk.
I didn't say surge was bad, Just that I believe there's a better perk in place for getting gen regression that doesn't have so much prerequisites.
The reason I think Cruel Confinement is situational is because in order to get the most out of the perk you have to be near a generator when it pops and also know where the survivors are. If a generator is completed across the map or survivors run to the next tile out of the radius the perk will most likely have no real impact.
-
The new survivor perks are Nice, they're not too strong but compliment other existing perks that they can make some nice new builds.
The Killer perks on the other hand I don't think you'll see much of considering there's much better perks you can run. I was really hoping for some perks to shift the meta but I guess not.
Surge is nice but the 32m range and 40 second cool down limits it to the point where you'd be better bringing Pop since you have to down a survivor anyway and it'll probably most times only effect one generator as well. Pop doesn't require a basic attack down either.
Cruel Confinement again a nice Idea but at most It'll get you 1 maybe 2 free hits if you're close by to the area where the generator pops and know where the survivors are. Very Situational.
Mindbreaker is okay to slow down the timer on exhaustion perks but again very situational.
-
Honestly i can see why they haven't touched SWF though I really wish they would.
SWF is a necessity for the game, or any game in general. Playing with friends is a must. You also can't put penalty or nerf someone just for playing alongside a friend even though it does have the potential to be game braking.
What needs to be done is buff solo play so it's more on par with the level of information sharing that SWF has. I get that this would change the game a lot but SWF being in game has already done that.
The only reason I can think of as to why they haven't done anything yet is time. The Devs are notoriously slow at big and sometimes even small changes. Buffing solo would mean a lot of work would need to be done on the killer side to balance things out and that in my opinion basing on how slow things get done would take months and months for them to fix.
-
I too started using NOED, Simply to try slow down the game.
Ruin lasts all of 5 seconds but at least if NOED gets destroyed that's 70 seconds of the game not doing gens.
Gens especially with toolboxes and adrenaline just go too fast, Honestly I wish more Killers would run NOED and force survivors to do Totems as a second objective. At least until the Devs address gen times.
-
There's 4 survivors and only 5 Totems on a Map, Most you can come across when not even looking, If you choose to ignore a Dull totem don't get mad when it lights up and becomes NOED.
You'd think the BP Increase on Totems would give more incentive to do dull totems but still people complain. NOED is incredibly easy to counter if you and your team just do dull totems, It's 14 seconds. That's a Minute and 10 seconds of your time spread across the game to prevent NOED, Seems fair to me.
-
Not healing sounds like It'd work in the killers favor on paper but in actuality it all depends on the situation.
There's a couple of killers that could capitalize on it like Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Huntress, Freddy or Hillbilly but against these killers people know it's dangerous to be always injured so they will in fact heal.
The problem lies with the Weaker killers being essentially just M1 killers with nothing to help in a chase so they can be looped for long periods of time. Just look at the Plague, She's a perfect example of this. When all survivors are Broken and refuse to cleanse to heal she has instadowns but becomes an M1 Killer with no real power.
If a Survivor is somewhat decent at running why would they waste time healing against a killer who has nothing to help in a chase when they could just sit on Generators and Loop until they get adrenaline.
-
In the early days it could have been but now it seems more of a horror battle royale with how everyone starts as survivors and turn into killers.
I will say the level design is great, Similar to death garden It's so much bigger and more expansive than anything you'd ever see in DBD.
-
I seriously hope they don't touch her base kit, Her Add ons most definitely needed to be looked at but as long as there's SWF in the game then nurse at base is fine.
-
I'm surprised they don't do this already. A lot of the weaker killers just need some number tweaks or add ons as basekit to be viable. It shouldn't take this long to buff a weak killer. But then again the devs kind of move at a snails pace with those kinds of updates.
-
It's just like the Wake Up exploit, They'd have to ban a hell of a lot of people including Fog Whisperers which isn't going to happen.
I think Exploits should be bannable but it's best we just forget about it for now and hope that this is just a change in policy going forward regarding exploits and not just because it was an exploit on the survivor side.
-
It's a Licensed cosmetic skin that people have been waiting/hoping for a long time, You really thought the Devs would make them a decent price?
Just look at the cosmetic prices as a whole, they're already overpriced in my opinion.
-
Nurses add ons need reworks sure but nurse herself is fine. People forget that SWF exists and also has the potentional to be incredibly OP, It's one of the main reasons why people are forced to play nurse since majority of the killers can't handle that.
If there were more viable killers your argument would have more room but seeing as there's so little killers who can actually deal with a strong swf, nerfing nurse and making that list even smaller is not a good move.
-
Your comparing someone with thousands of hours who is notability a very good killer.
I wont argue that even base nurse is strong if you're good with her since her power ignores loops but as long as there's 4 man SWF in the game which can also have the potential to be OP I think base nurse is fine. Her Add ons definitively need nerfs/reworks.
-
Something to remember - A lot of the big spikes in numbers, especially the newest overall highest player bases were due to free weekends, bloodpoint events and DLC releases.
Numbers have been around the same for the past year apart from the dip a few months ago which again was followed by DLC and bloodpoint events which brought numbers back into the green.
Overall I'd say the game is steady, not growing or dwindling
-
Pretty good suggestions all round.
I especially like his proposed changes to the killers but judging by how long it actually takes Killers to get updates at the moment, no matter how small the changes might be it'll take months which is a shame.
-
@OMagic_ManO said:
I got to rank 9 fast, I highly doubt the 10% to 5% ratio.
to be fair that's the global achievements of all players ever, Probably including people who played on free weekends or people who picked up the game for a while and dont play anymore.
The Devs should have the actual stats around the average daily player bases and their rankings.
-
Sorry but no, SWF is not balanced. It goes Solo, Killer and then SWF in terms of strength. The game is designed and based around solo which is why SWF is so strong because it gives a full team an insane amount of information the game never intended for them to have.
If the game was balanced around SWF, Solo would be an absolute nightmare and killers would be a lot stronger.
-
Spirit is the most balanced of all the killers, The second you add more counter play you'll destroy her potential.
Survivors not knowing or knowing very little of where she's coming from is what makes her strong. You change this and she'll become another loopable m1 killer.
-
I mean the game has been the same since it's release, I'd be more shocked if someone didn't get burnout playing the same trials over and over for years.
-
I have to disagree, some form of a grind is okay but DBD is by far one of the worst grind-centric games I've ever played. If anything It makes me feel terrible for newer players who have to go trough millions upon millions of BP to max out one single character.
There's people who stream this game almost everyday who still haven't maxed out. It's insane how many hours you need to play to max out all the characters.
-
There's very few streamers who actually are unbiased and have a good grasp of the game, I just hate the fact that a lot of these streamers go unnoticed by BHVR and then you have fog whisperers who run exploits and laugh about it for hours. I guess It's more of a number game then finding good people to put a spotlight on.
I've had to stop watching people like ohtofu because of toxic plays, last time i watched him he was in a 4 man swf bullying a lower ranked legion and they all DC'd as soon as someone went down.
