  • DBD is far from Free to play, The Base game is Pay to play and Content/DLCs after that also costs money. Yes it doesn't have an online subscription fee but it's not a Free to play game, If it was the base game would be free.

  • In my opinion only prayer beads needs a nerf, She forces you to play stealthy so do that.

People need to play as her to realize how to play against her, After phasing she is on cooldown and is a slow m1 killer. During this point you should be gaining distance so that you have a chance of making her miss a swing out of phase again and force her back into the same situation. As long as your not out in the open or obvious about your scratchmarks you can pull this off. Spirit can't vault while phasing and will have to stop and recharge if she wants to, Use this to gain distance.

People are so used to looping around one structure that they continue to do it even tough that's not how you run a spirit. If she gets her power back while she's close to you She's most likely going to get you unless you have a pallet.

and for the love of god If your injured you have to get away to heal or she'll hear and find you easily while phasing.

If you're still having trouble against her, Run Iron will. It's an all round good perk against any killer and makes hiding against a spirit much easier.

  • Goodluck catching a survivor when the vault gets bugged and doesn't close 😫

  • I'd love it but I don't see it happening, At least not anytime soon.

  • It's completely optional and there's a free version with much less but at least you can participate if you like.

If you played for long enough you start to realize that anything new coming to game is usually either going to be one of two things. A Grind to get you to keep playing or Cost Money. The Rift is both.

  • There's skill in every killer, some more than others but you still have to know what your doing with them to get Kills.

That's like saying a Survivor with strong perks (which is 99% of games) has no skill. You're given the tools, it's up to you to put the skill into making it effective.

  • How this add on got past even the design phase is beyond me.

  • She's most definitely the one that's complained about most, but even if she was nerfed it's then be Billy, Then Freddy and so on..

The Top Killers are always going to be complained about and asked to be nerfed until there's a direct counterplay to every killer, which in my opinion is a horrible way to balance a 4v1 game.

  • The Problem is that a lot of Survivors want a DIRECT Counterplay for every Killer no matter their playstyle.

  • Honestly, I could see it. Every Killer and Reworked Killer since clown have cooldowns. seems to be the new way to balance for the Devs.

  • I'm going to hold off saying too much since I haven't played her yet but my first Impression is that Your probably going to be spending a lot more time fatigued and looking at the ground. If this is the case I'm going to have to drop playing her, Her stun is nauseating.

  • I advise people to bring Iron will every game during BP Events.

Both Survivors and killers bring their A-game during these events and Killers are usually stuck with playing the top few killers since there's usually a lot of SWF teams, Spirit is usually a go to for a lot of people because she's strong and has a good BP Gain. Iron will is good against a lot of killers but it's amazing against a spirit.

  • Don't think they've announced it but I'm pretty sure everyone wants it to be haddonfield, It's the most unbalanced map in the game.

  • They've said it before, The Grind is in place to keep people playing. A very stupid thing in my opinion, It should be the game that keeps you playing but It's their game.

It's crazy that you see people like streamers who play the game for 4 hours+ every day who still haven't maxed out.

    It's kinda funny.

Everyone running moris, or 3 blink nurses and #########,

other survivors running insta heals, BNP, with Adren, DH, Borrowed Time and DS

Me with my meme survivor build with no items or offerings: H-Hi! I um... I exist.

Yeah it's kind of strange if you're just playing to have fun while everyone's scrambling to do the best they can and get all the points 😄

  • I don't know about Toxic but Everyone becomes Tryhards during these Events, Both Survivor and Killer.

People want the most points out of their games so they're going to try to win.

  • The thing is both survivor and killer bring out their A-game during these events.

Survivors stack up in SWF and bring instaheals, Keys, toolboxes - Anything to get the escape.

Killers do the same to get kills but since the roster of Strong Killers is so small, You're bound to see the same ones over and over. If you're trying to get the most out of the event then playing the weaker killers just doesn't benefit you, Games will be longer and you'll most likely get less points/kills.

  • The Game is pretty badly optimized. The lower graphics are most likely purposeful downgrades to make the game run better on the switch and take up less memory.

  • Leaving it to RNG is the fairest option for the gates.

Make them too far away you give the survivor the escape, too close the Killer gets to easily patrol the areas. Since there's so much difference in the mobilty of killers there's no real happy medium on gate distance thus making RNG being the deciding factor the best option.

But it doesnt close it. It just makes it impossible to play with certain friends

SWF by default gives you an advantage, Being matched with a killer of the highest player in that group seems fair to me.

Having it go on an average lead to too many instances where people would play with multiple red ranks and one brown in order to get matched with a killer that wasn't on the same level and would easily get looped by the higher ranked players.

  • Yes, It's nice to see steps in the right direction to closing the gap between SWF and Killer.

  • Great Change In my opinion. SWF already have the upper hand by default so matching them to the highest rank closes that gap somewhat which is a good step in the right direction.

  • It's become a regular occurrence, Hopefully it's fixed soon. I feel terrible for the free week players who are trying to get into the game. It's probably very frustrating.

  • We'll know for sure when it drops but from what I've seen the Game is going to cost $40 but it'll come with Spirit, Clown, Doc and Hag's DLC to compensate.

I'm not exactly sure but I've heard that some of the Licensed Killers wont be available to begin with but you'll still be able to Buy the likes of Plague and Legion.

  • It's definitively a very strong perk, I can see it being up there with the best perks if used correctly more specifically in Solo que.

It basically has the potential to be 5 (almost) instaheals. If your playing SWF then it'd be much better to just bring one of the very top perks instead since you can easily communicate your locations and get heals anyways but yeah for solo play it's great.

  • Separating new from experienced players in an Online PVP is extremely important.

I wish matchmaking took hours into consideration even just a little, Maybe achievments or Kill/survival rate and not just rank because honestly the ranking system is pretty bad and there's usually big differences in skill level. There's probably not enough players for that though.

  • The Top Killers when played right can counter gen rush.

When Survivors play the best they can and "Gen rush" There's only a handful of killers who can put up just as much a fight like Nurse, Spirit and Hillbilly.

Majority of Killers can't handle Top Survivor level Gameplay, That's just how the game and the killers have been designed.

  • While I do agree that the Devs let streamers away with much more then the average player I don't think any of your points validate that statement.

The Fact is if it wasn't for streamers this game wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is and The Devs know that.

  • It just wouldn't work, even if you showed the Killers rank too. It'd be too easily abused by both sides - everyone would just look for easier games against lower ranks and bring OP things against high ranks.

  • Nope, Simply because the models would be too small, It'd be a nightmare to balance. and then you have the fact that survivors all use the same animations so Kids would each have to have new unique animations which Could be done but I doubt it.

  • Sounds like a Bug, Hopefully it's fixed quickly.

Yeah I also believe it's a sound issue, sometimes a certain gen here or there will be quiet while I repair, but if I pan the camera to the killer or someone gets hooked, the volume shoots up to normal.

That's sound occlusion It's in most games but in DBD it's pretty bad.

Normally an object should muffle sound a little but in this game it basically mutes the Gen/Survivor if they are behind a wall or object. Sounds always been a issue in this game, maybe one day we'll have it working properly but I doubt it.

  • I wouldn't expect it to be delayed just because the Devs are silent on it. My Guess is that it's delayed due to dedicated servers getting delayed. The switch doesn't have the best Wifi and P2P would just be awful.

That said, the Devs have been pretty quiet about DBD on the switch in general even before the delay on the servers. It would be nice to know some info on if DLC will be available and some footage of the gameplay would be nice too.

  • I'm sorry but that's how hitboxes work, If you want more accurate hit boxes to the point where the killers weapon has to hit the player model then all the killer Weapons and Survivor skins would need to be looked at and adjusted and The Whole game would need to be looked at and changed to rebalanced for smaller model specific hitboxes.

  • Ruin is highly situational which is why people complain it goes in 30 seconds and also say it's a must have perk. It all depends on the RNG of the totem spawn and if/when a survivor sees it.

In my opinion in high ranks it's most of the time a waste, Either survivors get the skillchecks and power trough or it's found and taken out right away which is the case most of the time, You'll get more value out of Pop goes the weasel but it's up to you.

  • He has a power just not a very good one.

He gets an Easy first hit but after that he's a regular m1 killer and we all know how they struggle.

  • She's very strong but I don't think she's unbalanced, at least not to the point where she needs a nerf. Only Prayer beads needs a nerf in my opinion.

I don't know why some people want every killer to have a direct counter in place, If that was the case then playing killer would be pointless. She forces a different playstyle, play stealthy and you'll have a better time going against her.

Everything Thats said is OP about the top killers can also be said about SWF. As long as SWF Exists there needs to be killers there that can hold their ground against it.

  • As others have pointed out, With dedicated servers they said theyd be able to crack down more on DCs.

Personally I doubt we'll see a change unless a timer is added to reque if you DC. People are still going to DC all the time just not up to the point of half their games or so to avoid any punishments.

  • We desperately need a volume slider, or even low/mid/high settings.

They finally fixed chase music before but it only lasted a couple of weeks and was changed back to a louder volume. It's such a shame that the game promotes audio as an aspect to the game while also have such terrible audio issues like the chase music for tracking.

  • There's the Chained skin but I think that might be it.

I wouldn't expect much change in his cosmetics, maybe a christmas lights one if we're lucky but I wouldn't expect any cosmetics that are big changes to his design since on the show the creature pretty much stays the same and I can't see netflix allowing much different.

  • It really looks great! Apart from the upstairs were I feel like textures are really lacking.

Gameplay wise I'm going to hate playing it, It's like a giant maze.

  • This should be common knowledge by now, for both Killer and survivors.

If the strength of the killer or survivor perks is a deciding factor of yours for a chapter then yes you should wait at least 2 weeks before buying. Just look at how many people were annoyed by MoMs Nerf even though everyone knew It needed one.

  • SWF gonna have a field day with this

  • Just keep track of how many times you've vaulted and you wont have to worry about the sound cue.

  • I haven't had a chance to test but seriously why would they do that though?

It was already a situational perk at best with no real use outside of a 3 gen strat since it couldn't be paired with Pop or Overcharge.

So now if it stays at 24m, That means This perk will only work under circumstances where There's an active generator that hasn't been kicked within 24m of the person being downed outside of the 40 second cooldown .. all this set up for 12% regression. You'd be better off just using Pop in it's place.

  • @Bbbrian2013 I know, That's why I'm cautious. I wouldn't expect them to be flawless, I'm just hoping it goes as smooth as possible.

  • I'm a little scared of dedicated servers to be honest. When the they have talked about it they've made sure to mention that it wont be 100%. I know this is to be expected but I just hope it's not too bad.

  • I wish they'd fix the FOV, I'm so tired of being forced to run Shadowborn and M&A.

It's such a simple fix and it's been as you said over 3 years without a change. I seriously will never understand how the Devs are so slow at changes to game even small ones like this.

Like the fov for killer as welll... that would be a majorly positive change for the game... as it stands the fov for killer is arguably the worst experience I've played in a game... I'd rather have them do dedicated servers perfect and have the update come out as good as possible rather then them take the attention away from arguably the most important update in DBD'S life

Yeah the FOV for Killer is the one thing I hate most about the game, When they said they were looking into it ages ago I got so excited but it turned out to be nothing. I'm tired of only having 3 perk slots because the FOV is just so small and I'm forced to run shadowborn or M&A.

Again, This is a simple fix since they have the system in place to adjust FOV as seen with perks that do that but for some reason a fix was mentioned once and never again.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/84741/devs-make-an-actual-punishment-for-dcing

I usually saw DC when killer had a mori or campered/tunneled. In other games I rarelly saw it

It really depends on the survivors you generally face. I see so many survivors DC if it's a killer they don't like or if they get found first, It's insane. It completely ruins the game for everyone else and needs to be punished heavily once dedicated servers come around.

  • To be completely honest, I have no Idea what could possibly be stopping them from doing some small changes that could have a big positive impact on the game, Other then possibly being understaffed or just having priority be on new content because that's where the money is.

So many of the Killers could be in a better place with some number tweaks but changes like that take the Devs Years.
