I miss the moonlight offerings.
-
Deathslinger these days. He's not op or anything, I actually think he's pretty weak. It's just completely boring game play with very little interactivity.
-
How about we cut the large part and just go with a ship? I like that.
-
Actually all the survivor and killer sounds got turned up. Even the killer footsteps are noticeably louder.
We have no conrete patch notes on it though, just my interpretation.

It's 2m that prevents noed being cleansed. It's 2m that makes impossible to counterplay Undying in any way except crossing your fingers and hoping the killer has brain damage.
Which means you ignored totems all game including cleansing Undying itself...all game..
It isn't even remotely impossible to counter play.
30 seconds into the match Undying gets cleansed because it spawned on a hill, it did absolutely nothing. Man that no counter play was intense.
-
It was there before, but they bumped up all the footstep sounds to where it's noticeably louder on both survivor and killer. It's made them much more noticeable. You can tell where she's at pretty closely.

Iron Will? Or Stridor?
I'm referring to saying Bloodhound does a better job at countering Iron Will than Stridor.

*hides Survivor perk build...*
But on a serious note, I despite those perks even as Survivor. They're very situational and a waste of a perk slot, if you never even get to use them, like myself.
They're actually not situational at all when you realize how much value you are gaining from them even when they don't activate.
-
It's a similar question to:
Why does he lose power bar on an M1?
Why is his fatigue four seconds?
Why is Deep Wounds so bad?
It's supposed to be for counter play, but the issue is he already has tons of counter play and is extremely weak, so it all went over board.

So much stock is put into Stridor as a counter to Iron Will, particularly because of how often Spirit players use it, that it’s often overlooked just how superior Bloodhound is as a tracking perk and counter to Iron Will.
I’ve quite literally found survivors I couldn’t hear behind rocks because of the bright red trail of blood just hugging the foot of it.
Bloodhound helps me deal with Iron Will, it helps me end chases faster (less “where did the go?!”), and makes it fairly easy to find any slugged survivors.
What are your thoughts on Bloodhound?
I think you're looking at it the wrong way which is why Bloodhound seems better.
You're looking at it from a tracking perspective and finding the location of survivors.
Iron Will isn't good/being used because of its location tracking. It's good because it allows you to pin point the survivors location on the spot, mid loop. This allows you to know exactly where they are at behind the wall to better mind game the loop.
So for "tracking", sure Bloodhound is better. However, people don't run Iron Will for its tracking and that's not why it's good. It's for the mind games at loops and pin pointing location behind walls.
No one generally cares about tracking at high ranks which is why no one runs Bloodhound.

I'd actually like a lot more grass in general than we have currently on the maps as well. (poor Trapper)
With your change included of course.

They did clown dirty like that when I first started understand what snares were back during the ptb I was kinda mad because this just killed clown. Devs just based freddys snares off aof clown but made clown look like garbage compared to that. Its jsut sad but I think he will get a potential rework in the mid-chapter
I think he's the next rework as well.

I was playing with some red ranked players yesterday who were trying to say the game is killer sided. Granted, one of them was boosted, but the other one was not.
He probably doesn’t play much killer then or he’s newer to the game.
-
They either only play survivor or they’ve played killer only at low ranks so they don’t have a balanced perspective. Pretty much the entire high rank/high hour community agrees the game is survivor sided at the top level.

All I’m trying to say is that ever since cross-play came out A lot of PC players have been calling PS4 and XBOX players trash at the game and acted as if they are the best of the best which is not always the case. The devs don’t care about console players they treat us like crap after promising optimization along time ago.
I get where you're coming from.
"A lot of PC players have been calling PS4 and XBOX players trash at the game and acted as if they are the best of the best which is not always the case."
I believe they are speaking in generalities for the most part. So when you say always the case, I don't think that's what they're actually implying. I think they just mean in general PC players play better, not all. They could probably say it in a nicer way though given the experience you're having.

So you havent seen me play then alright lol.
I don't see how that's relevant at all to what I've said.
I know a lady that smoked her whole life and didn't get lung cancer. Does that mean smoking doesn't cause lung cancer? No, that would be silly.
My statement is a generality, not that literally every single cross play player is bad.
-
I realize you don't want a "git gud" type comment, but in a non-sarcastic or meaning to be rude way, that kinda is the case.
You just need to keep practicing at them. They are honestly too easy imo if anything and that build is actually quite weak.
-
"But this is an example for the people on PC that you guys are escapable and killable."
I don't think anyone actually thinks that. That's kinda a strawman.
Not justifying people actually being toxic towards anyone, but the difference between PC and the crossplay survivors/killers is extremely noticeable, at least from all the games I've been experiencing.
-
Killer: 3-4k is a win
Survivor: 3-4e is a win
2k 2e is a draw from either side
-
I also think a lot of streamers "think" they're being stream sniped when they really aren't.
I typically go to their stream and pause the broadcast before the game starts. I then unpause it after the game is over to hear their comments. They scream stream sniper a lot for why they lost when it really wasn't the case.
-
I'd be hella excited. Also because an Alien chapter would bring a huge fan base to the game and more player base is always nice.
-
SWF and map design are the most unbalanced things to me. Followed by all the second chance perks.
-
Are you gonna link it in your post for us to watch?

What if they gave him some sort of buff in his own gas? What if while in the gas he moves faster, or removes his red light for better movement mind games. There's so many things you can do to rework his entire ability and still keep his title as best anti looper. That's what I want clown to be. Sure he won't be able to traverse the map fast, sure he can't one shot down but he will not get looped to hell and back. That's what I want.
The only thing I'm hesitant about in that is making his 1v1 even stronger makes him less fun from the survivor side. I'd honestly rather them give him a secondary ability to help with his map pressure.
I also think they could do more with the blurred vision from his gas as that kinda feels like his trademark thing. Maybe like getting hit by additional gas makes the blurryness stack so it steadily gets worse and worse. Maybe the blurryness stays until you find a teammate to shake you out of it (this would slow the game down a little for him).
-
I can't really take DBD tournaments seriously. The game is too unbalanced for a legitimate tournament.
Now many of them do make up their own rules. Which is basically a sign of my previous point.
-
He's pretty awful. Freddy is everything Clown has and lots more. They kinda took his identity away as well with the Freddy rework.
Killers either need high map mobility/pressure or extremely strong in 1v1. One of these gets them just to around mid-upper mid tier depending on how good their other features are. All the high tier killers actually have both of these features.
Clown doesn't have map mobility or pressure and while his 1v1 is strong, it's not nearly as strong as it needs to be for it being his only one strength.

Right, I just don't think BHVR is good at reaching the middle ground consistently.
Old rank reset was fine IMO.
Agreed.

I guess I was taking it as "make it harder to reach red ranks across the board" instead of just making it harder to reach red ranks as survivor. You still run the risk of making it too hard to reach red ranks outside of stacking, regardless of whatever balance changes are made. People abuse stacks and off-hours all the time to reach the highest ranks in other games. It'd be no different here.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1599264#Comment_1599264
Yeah I wouldn't mind a simple revert to old rank reset. Time played each month is about as good as a ranking system as we're going to get in this game. MMR's going to flop again, I can feel it.
And yeah I know, that's why queues are worse at night. Everyone gets on after work/school/whatever to play SWF with their buds.
I don't think the only options are ridiculously easy to rank up like we have now or insanely hard where people can hardly get there. There is a middle ground.
Right now you have to actively try hard not to rank up, honestly. If someone is not ranking up, they are playing very, very badly. You'd have to be near completely useless on your team to not pip. Especially given the rank reset changes where there basically isn't a rank reset anymore.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1599223#Comment_1599223
Yeah but then the queue times become 20 minutes long on a good day and then nobody who reaches a high rank will want to play anymore.
Why would queue times get longer and why would people not want to play?
Once they fixed the ranking in that way they could actually balance high ranks.
-
I agree.
4 "good" solo's are still stronger than killers.
The reason people think otherwise is because as you mentioned, most your teammates are bad. Balancing for bad players isn't a good balance choice.
Like you said, the fix is making it harder to rank up so the quality of your teammates at a given rank will improve.
-
I like the idea. You could also attach the slow down to totems as well. So the more totems broken the less they slow gens down. This would have the added bonus for survivors of finally get a totem counter as well.
This essentially makes totem cleansing a little less completely optional. You could choose to still power through and ignore them though.
This honestly seems the easiest to implement.
-
All the second chance perks are at the top of my list.
While there are a ton of perks that need buffs/reworks, the abusively strong and unhealthy second chance ones actually hurt game play while all the bad perks just need their changes to create more diversity. Obviously abusive and unhealthy game play is the higher priority.
-
He wastes more time getting a good survivor tormented than he saves not picking up and hooking them.
If anything I'd buff it.
-
Iron Will's a perk that never leaves any of my bars.
I feel it just makes the game more fun as it allows for more mind games and jukes that wouldn't be possible otherwise.
-
I don't think so. I think people are way overestimating how good Undying is by thinking about the best case scenario happening.
Realistically they're gonna end up having Undying cleansed first a lot and then realize their wasting a perk slot that they got nothing out of.

I would argue haunted grounds is also in a good state for hex perks along with devour.
I personally think HG is quite weak. It's a perk slot for 1 60 second Exposed on everyone that usually gets popped early when all the pallets are still up and the survivors dictate when and even if it activates at all.
The odds of that procing when you are chasing someone and they don't have any pallets and they aren't already injured seems pretty bad.
Even if we assume it does proc and proc at the right time, on the right person, that's generally gonna be 1, 1 hit down for a perk slot. That's terrible value 90% of the time.
Imo it needs to keep both totems instead of removing the other once you proc one of them.
-
Iron Will is fine.
Deliverance is an example of how the other second chance perks should be, so it's well designed.
Pop is well designed.
Inner Strength is well designed.
Nurses Calling is fine.
M&A is solid.
There's probably a few others as well. That's just some that stuck out at me.
I'd say only maybe 10% of the perks for each side are actually perfectly fine where they're at.
-
Both good changes.
Still think Blood Warden should add 15 seconds for any subsequent hooks as well.
Remember Me should also allow gate switches to regress if not worked on.
-
I think a lot of people want a werewolf, myself included.

This is true, they should add it to a ptb and see what kind of results come from it
I wish they'd throw more things into the PTB to test them out. Even if it's not gonna come to live after the PTB, they should use it as a testing ground to try new things out.

The only problem is that I feel teammates will betray the ones without a mic
I was playing black ops 4 zombies one time and a guy literally was trying to get me killed because I wouldnt turn my mic on , maybe it will be a better experience with this game though? I agree on the sense they should have the same capability as a swf but this game has so many toxic players in it, I could only imagine some kid cussing me because I won't go to the basement and save him from a noed face camper
They could do that regardless.
You think you'll die more from a teammate being angry you won't turn your mic on or from not being able to tell your team the killer left the hook and that they're safe for the save?
9/10 it's gonna be more of a benefit to have the mic
-
Built in voice chat.
Obviously can have issues, but it's mutable if the people are annoying or you don't wanna talk.

In my opinion it harms the killer more than help because you're saving the safety net for the survivors and not getting rid of the pallets , alot of survivors will waste pallets and this is almost like training wheels teaching them to move on somewhere else and use the speed boost to find a safer tile to run to
Another good point, it's pretty awful.

I'd try it just to see. I might use it on a couple of people. I'd use it more if it wasnt a hex.
Yeah I'm not really sure why it's a Hex.
It's so bad that they could completely remove the hex portion of the perk and I still don't think anyone would run it. That's pretty bad.
-
An interesting question.
That said, the perk is god awful so you'd be better off just ignoring it in the first place.

Ummm no. I don't know how you interpret my comment like I wanted him to go clicky clicky. I said that it would be interesting to see different builds.
And he and his team certainly don't go out of their way to do totems. They get hit with noed all the time because they just rush the gens instead of cleansing.
And my main point was that it's just boring to watch them crush killers in minutes and it's a shame he doesn't play more killer.
"Ummm no. I don't know how you interpret my comment like I wanted him to go clicky clicky. I said that it would be interesting to see different builds."
I interpreted that because there's nothing else left to do. Your comment on different builds was unrelated to your reference of wanting him to do something other than gens.
"And he and his team certainly don't go out of their way to do totems. They get hit with noed all the time because they just rush the gens instead of cleansing."
Any time he sees a totem he cleanses it. Saying he should literally walk around the map looking for dull totems is telling him to play dumb. You're asking for someone you can watch to improve your game play and then being critical of him making the best play choices.
"And my main point was that it's just boring to watch them crush killers in minutes and it's a shame he doesn't play more killer."
I get what your saying and I'd like him to play more killer as well, but your comment runs counter to your posts original intent.
You want someone that can show you how to play well. The way he is playing is how you play well. To play less "boring" is asking him not to play smart, which is the main reason you'd want to watch him in the first place. The boring play style is generally the most efficient play style.
I suppose if your topic was "looking for the most fun survivor to watch that also does decently well at the same time", I would agree with you more.

Yeah Fungoose is very good but sometimes it's so boring to watch his streams when he only plays with his 3/4-man premade and they rush the gens in 5 minutes and two of his team are kinda toxic every now and then. He also plays with the same build all the time. Like it would be a lot more entertaining if they weren't so sweaty all the time and there was more interaction and situations with the killer.
His killer play is much more interesting but he plays too little killer nowadays.
Them doing the gens is sweaty? Should he go find the killer and clicky clicky at him? I'm confused what you'd want him to do instead of gens.
He goes out of his way to do totems and open chests.
-
Fungoose is probably the best survivor and killer player I've ever seen.
He streams on twitch and uploads to youtube regularly. A highly educational and friendly person to watch as well.
