It was there before, but they bumped up all the footstep sounds to where it's noticeably louder on both survivor and killer. It's made them much more noticeable. You can tell where she's at pretty closely.
It’s a great signal for dropping pallets
It's always been a thing, but it's way more noticeable (and by that I mean actually useful) on only a very small handful of maps, and it's worthless in a chase thanks to the chase music (which doesn't seem to drown out other killers footsteps).
