I'm just going to leave this here if you like to read the Twitter thread. Hens does a great job explaining way MfT is overturned and why it's a problem. Also, I think Hens a lot more knowledgeable about dbd than you or I. This is why I trust ppl like Hens and Otz on their opinions on balance in dbd. Anyway, have a great day. ^^

I got downed by the tail last night when it didn't even hit me. If he is bugged, then why isn't he being killswitched until it's fixed? It's unfair to allow a killer with a bug that favors them to be playable until & unless that bug is fixed.
I'm not even getting into all the ways the alien should be nerfed yet since that's a different topic, but it's pretty disgusting and pointless to even bother playing against the alien at this point. Every match I've had has been multiple survivors hooked before the first gen got done and a lot of those only had 1 or even 0 gens done before everyone was dead or someone luckily found hatch.
Most likely the major reason is xeno just was released a week ago and they need to sale the chapter dlc. They have never killswitched a killer right after a release as far I know. If this bug or other bugs showed up much farther away from the release they would most likely killswitched xeno. Also I be honest killers being bugged isn't nothing new. Pinhead for example been bugged for months now. If a survivor jumps into a locker with the box and he grabs them out of the locker the game just respawn the box somewhere else and doesn't give pinhead the benefit for solving the box.

That's just light bm, in those games I mentioned people wish for bad things to happen to you or your family, eg wish cancer onto people and stuff, scream at you which one of your family members they had slept with and so, the most offensive slurs and so on and so forth, I think calling someone bad, teabaging, telling to uninstall is really harmless compared to what you experience in these games... In my 2.5k hours not once has one of those things happened to me in DBD and I can count on my fingers how often this happened to me in those other games this week alone, so I stand by the point I made, DBD is by far one of the lesser toxic gaming communities out there. Dota might improve though due to changes in their behavior score lately, but we will see...
For me personally, I don't like either. The light bm you call it is just as bad as the other stuff. You talking to a person who was bullied and was competely isolated for most of their young life and even seeing that "light bm" triggers me greatly and send me back to those days when I was told I would loser for not playing sports or for liking anime. Those days have scarred me greatly to the point I really hate any social interaction at all. I have large amounts of social anxiety so any bm triggers me and I try to avoid it all I can. That is why I say that dbd is just as toxic as any other pvp game out there. That why Im happy dbd dont have voice chat and why Im avoiding TCM.

LoL
DBD and Blizzard games in general probably have the least toxic communities because they will basically ban you for most things that are considered harassment, whereas games like teamfortress 2 had achievements for making a player rage quit or something like that. Go play counterstrike or Dota and tell me that other games have friendlier communities. The amount of times you get insulted in those games is a lot higher than the amount it happens in DBD, not even close buddy.
In Dota for example people would fountain dive you and delay the game to kill you more often or just focus one person in the enemy team despite it being not the best play just out of spite, I don't know how people get the idea that the DBD community is that much more toxic than other games.
I don't understand people not wanting to see a gg no matter what happened in the game at least the guy tried to be a good sports about, what else can you expect? It's not like gg is anything like bm or something, you cannot preamptively gg in this game or do something similar.
We can agree to disagree then bc I don't think this community is as friendly as ppl make it out to be. Every night and every other game I come across toxic ppl who tell me gg ez and tell me to uninstall the game or say gg after they teabag me at the exit gate when I had a rough match. For ex last night I had a really bad match as xeno and you what I got afterward? I got teabags at the gates and was told I was one of the worst killers they ever had and I should uninstall the game. Sure I have over 1k hours in the game but I'm still learning a xeno and I'm having a rough time with it. That is just one of many toxic players I have seen in this game. So yeah I don't think dbd community is as friendly and least toxic as you think. Let's not forget we talking about a community that used an innocent killer cosmetic for racist acts. It got so bad that the devs had to remove those cosmetics competely from the game. This community is just as toxic as those games you listed if not more and no amount of banning from the devs will change that sorry. Anyway, I hope you have a great day, I really do but I'm done with this topic for now.
Also add that Im not against saying ggs in this game but I do understand ppl like OP who dont want to see it. All I have to say is just mute the chat and you have a much better time in this game imo. You dont need to interact with anyone if you dont want to.

I don't think so, even if just a single player outplays you and tbags and stuff is enough to feel bullied, same as in any other game as well. Some people will always be better and then play with you like with a toy. I don't think this matters in any sense, the killer can also bully the survivors and the other way round.
Maybe I just have had a better experience in other pvp games than dbd. I play a lot of OW2 and I never feel that either side is super toxic to the other. Even the games that are one-sided feel better afterward than dbd one-sided games. Also, I did say in my post that killers can bully survivors as well so I don't know why you said it in a way like I didnt. Either way I do think dbd is a lot more toxic than most other pvp games and that's why some ppl don't want to see ggs all the time esp when the matches are so one-sided. One way to fix this I feel is to make mmr better but who knows honestly?

I wouldn't say the games are not close because it is asymmetrical, I would rather play it on the bad matchmaking.
Mmm, I may have worded it wrong. I'm not saying it is an asym is the reason for the bad matches. That is competely bc mmr sucks in dbd and rarely ever works. Umm I mentioned asym bc in other games its an even number of players vs other players and I feel the chances of the feeling of being "bullied" is a lot less bc of your teammates are there also. Im mostly speaking from a killer main pov but there are times when I play Killer and feel all 4 survivors' goal is just to make sure I have the worst time possible. This can be true for survivors also where sometimes it feels like the killer's only goal is to make sure they have the worst time possible. I feel in other games you don't have those situations that often.
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
lol why though? This is the only gaming community I’ve been apart of where saying gg in some scenarios is frowned on
I think it's bc is an asym. In other games they more or last team base where each time has an even number of players. Also, dbd imo rarely has even matchups. A lot of matches are competely one-sided. As a killer main I rarely even have close matches, it is either I stomp the survivors or the survivors stomp me. When a side gets competely stomped, the last thing they want to see is ggs from the person or persons that competely destroyed them.
Also dbd doesnt have a clear win or lose. The community and devs kinda just decided that kills matter. So when a killer plays nice and try to hook ppl evenly but all 4 survivors leave while teabagging them at the gate and then says "ggs" Its not the best feeling. It felt you lost and the ppl on the other end is just rubbing it in. The same can be said when a killer plays for kills and tunnels and camps. Survivors don't really want to see the killer say ggs when they use stuff like tunneling and camping to kill them.

As others have pointed out, many people use it to show good sportsmanship, even if they lost. Not everyone is so focused on the outcome. If we want to get technical, usually it should be the person who 'lost' to say it first so it can't be misinterpreted as taunting, but since there aren't exactly clear cut winners in this game, that's not always possible. It's just important to read the room before saying it. If the match was completely one sided, the winner(s) probably shouldn't say it first.
You are not obligated to say it if you don't want to. You can even choose to hide the chat if you don't want to see it from other people. That said, always assuming the worst of people is a very dangerous way of thinking that tends to sour your opinion of people that have done nothing wrong.
Sorry, but I personally do assume the worst of ppl in this community. The amount of toxic players I see on a daily basis outweighs the amount of ppl who are nice. Sure you have ppl who mean gg as good sportsmanship but ALOT just say it along with something like "ez baby killer" or "you should delete the game bc you bad killer" Most of the time the ggs I get is from those who teabag me at the exit gates. So yeah sorry I do assume the worst of ppl at least in this community.
That said everyone is right if you don't like seeing something just mute the chat. I usually keep my muted anymore bc of the amount of toxic players I get every day and I am not in a mental space to handle those ppl. I honestly would say something to them that would land me with a ban if I do interact with them.

I watched your some videos.
I don't think you have problem with using tail. You are not bad with it. In time with more use, you will just get better. You know how to use it.
But you did some mistakes which made you lose games.
- You are not checking around for turrets which makes you lose the power. Always expect turret whenever you are going to progressed gen. Turret should be your first target, check around and break it.
- You are chasing survivor with no power. If you are not on position to get them down, don't chase survivor with no power. Enter the tunnel and get your power back.
- You are a bit panicking when you use your tail. You could get some 100% hits but you used your power a bit early.
- Basic killer mistake, you played so fair against strong teams.
But after all of these, you still got a lot hooks. I don't think you are bad with Xeno. You just need to play him more.
Thank you for the advice and the kind words. I also think I may play too far but I really don't like tunneling or camping even when Im against strong teams, that might be one of my issues. Glad to hear I'm not as bad as I think with his tail, I felt I was trash at it. As for turrets I have gotten better at looking out for them for the most part. I think it just panics bc when I see a survivor I want to hit them as fast as possible and I don't want to lose sight of them.
Either way, thank you for all the advice from everyone. Plz continues reviewing my videos and pointing out my mistakes. I never really recorded myself before since I'm really bad looking at my own gameplay and seeing my own mistakes. It's kinda of nice to have others suggest things for me to do. Thanks.

Damn, you struggle with Xeno, guess it's fine then.
Most players, once used to it, have an insanely easy time.
Last Xeno match I had, they literally had 4 hook stages on 5 gens.
4!
You can state "MMR shat itself" or "Trash survivors" all you want, but I've seen Xeno consistently getting at least 2 hooks before first gen pops, unless it's a team with premades with gen slam builds and BNPs.
For one thing I never said xeno was fine, I just say I don't understand the rants about him being OP. To me he seems to have a fair amount of counterplay and survivors can beat a xeno. The thing is if you nerf xeno to much you end up with another killer no one wants to play. Xeno will just join singularity and other killers ppl just don't want to play and we just be back to survivor complaining about all they see are nurses, blights and weskers.
Also as I said I can only speak for myself. For me xeno feel really weak and sometimes not even fun to play. That just my opinion tho. I'm just one person so my opinion means nothing. I'm just speaking my mind on the subject and saying what I exp.
-
I feel if xeno was truly OP then everyone would be 4king with him no matter what. I can't speak for everyone of course but I can tell you I'm having a hell of a time with him. He one of few killers I can remember that I struggle a lot with on the first week. Singularity was the other killer. This week my xeno matches have been really hard and kinda unfun. I lost all of them and got on avg 1 kill at most. I haven't even gotten a 4k with this killer yet. So honestly I don't know how ppl are saying he OP. I feel a OP killer would allow anyone to get easy 4ks almost every match no matter their skill set.
-
Right now where I am at with the killer I think low A or High B. Hux and Xeno are the first killers that have given me a really hard time when learning. The first two weeks with Hux were a nightmare for me as I wasn't getting many kills and every match felt miserable. I finally just gave up on him altogether. Xeno is shaping up to be the same for me as well. This first week has been a complete hell for me. I'm having the opposite exp of others on this forum. Every match has been miserable and I usually only get 1 kill and that's it. I have even had nights this week where I got 3 hooks every match and no kills. Turrets have been a pain for me and they feel like emps to me also and the tail attack has been so hard to hit a lot of times.
That said I do think the killer is fun and strong but I do wish it was a little easier to learn and didnt feel like I have to lose every single match for a month just to get better at it. If you could de-rank like back in the day, I think I would be back to bronze or ash by now with the amount of depiping I been getting. Im hard struck on gold 3 and can't rank up at all. No 1mil BP for me this month I think v.v
-
I just don't xeno to become another Hux. I love Hux but damn I cant play him more than one match bc of the emps and management of his pods. I'm honestly exhausted mentality after one or two matches as Hux. I made a few post on here about how I been struggling really hard with xeno. I went night after night with bad matches and felt like Im making no headway with xeno. Turrets are being an issue with me and missing my tail attacks so if they nerf his tail and buff turrets then I may have to quit trying to learn xeno and just go back to Legion or another killer I learned bc the time investment is starting to not be worth it for me. I cant even pip up on xeno :-/ Xeno is the first killer of my 1k hours that have made me record my games and plan to ask someone to watch them for advise on what Im doing wrong. He is the first killer I have found really hard to do anything on.

We can only hope that BHVR can reduce Lobbydodging somehow.
Honestly I didn't even know that was a thing till just now. That might be what happening.
-
Can't tell you since I haven't played survivor in a bit but I can tell you I have had a lot of survivors escape when I'm playing xeno. Last three nights I have had a total of 3 or 4 kills as xeno. Most nights I get on avg 1 kill every 5 games. So yeah...I'm having the opposite experience from most xeno players :-/

That is easy to explain. The killrate for Xeno is high, you probably had match after match of 3 or 4 k and your MMR went up. So you got placed correctly in a higher MMR and got smoked by an organized group. Xeno is only balanced against SWF's it eats solo cue up like it is nothing since there is no communication on turrets and placing them.
Nope, I have yet to get a 3k or 4k on xeno. In fact, I been really really struggling with them. Last night I played 10 matches and got one kill, the night before I played 5 matches and got no kills. That is not it.
-
Last night as Xeno I had 3 p100 and one 57. It wasnt a very fun match at all and I was competely owned. The match was competely one sided. I got one single hook in the whole match.
-
Same thing is happening with me. I need one more hook in basement and I have hooked 4 survivors across 4 games in basement and still haven't got credit for it.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
Did you ever played with ranged killers? Slinger, Nemesis or Huntress.
Xeno has similar power but a bit different. You need to wait survivor lock in animation and then use hit. But you need to timing well. Xeno is strong killer but tail is the most important part of him. So you need to learn how to use power.
Playing against bots can help. Watching content creators can help.
I played those killers before but only nemmy I have a lot of time on. I suck really bad on huntress and slinger has always been meh to me. The thing about nemmy is I got good at dragging my whip and I don't think you can do that with the tail. I do know you can drag it down over stuff and hit ppl who hiding behind a pallet or a short wall. I did that a few times already.

@Objectively_speaking said:
First replace Tinkerer with a perk to delay your game. I would recommend corrupt or Deadlock or Ultimate weapon so you can practice more chases. Secondly, for your tail gameplay, if you can get a M1 go for that instead of the tail only use the tail when you know a survivor will be animation locked or when they are stuck in a very bad position. I know from experience, you might be using your tail too much and missing too often. Secondly, use your tunnels and stealth to get an advantage early. Additionally, try a mixture of slugging one survivor and going for another to build up pressure. Lastly, try to record some of your games and watch through and see what you did wrong. If all this does not work then Xeno might just not be for you.
Tldr, Use M1 unless you have to use your tail to get a hit, also try hit and run and using your tunnels to chase quickly.
I hate deadlock ALOT so I may try corrupt. Deadlock is one of those perks I feel I never get value from and the games never feel like they are delayed by much. No matter what killer I use it on it just feels like it does nothing at all. Corrupt on the other hand is my all-time fav perk so I try that. As for recording myself, I feel that won't work for me. I would need someone to review the videos for me and tell me what I'm doing wrong bc I can never point out my own mistakes. Thanks tho for the other advice.

You got that build off of otzdarva video didn't you? You see the problem with eruption, and pop is there slowdown depends on fast downs. If you aren't getting fast downs then you aren't slowing the game. It's why I don't run those perks. I'm not confident with killer that I can get fast downs all the time. I personally prefer slowdowns that don't effect getting fast downs like corrupt intervention, and deadlock for example or even surge.
I would also recommend experimenting in bot matches to see what build works for you. It's not a bad idea watching a video, and getting an example of what builds others use,but what works for one person might not work for you. Also check what addon's you are using with alien the map addon is probably mandatory in my opinion.
I did get that build from otz, all my builds are from him. I never had a build that didnt work for him other than this one. This first time one of his builds has really failed me, that's why Im having a hard time figuring out what is wrong bc I know the build is fine. As for addons I never know what to run alot of time. Im been mostly running the one that gives 33% more res to flamethrowers and either the kane's helmet or the xeno egg addons

Ppl complain all the time tbh. They complain when they don't see a killer enough (singularity) or when they see the killer to much (Wesker, blight, nurse, or Xeno). Can't make any one happy in this community.

"Here is the Alien Chapter bundle! It has the chapter and a cosmetic you may or may not want, which means we are charging more for it" and if you want to pay the 'cheaper' or 'original' price for the chapter, you MUST buy auric cells and in so doing - you are still paying more.Under this logic I should have the right to buy a killer or survivor without the package. That option, to the best of my knowledge, has never existed.
They are packaging goods and charging for it. Nothing about it is secret, everything you get is disclosed as is the price. Maybe they felt that they had to raise the price for some reason outside their control (license/inflation) and thought throwing an additional product in with it would be a better deal. Maybe they just want to make more money.
Maybe they went crazy and typed random numbers into the price.
We all get back to the same issue:
If its cost is not worth the value to you, don't buy it.
If you don't like the model of how the game monetization works, don't play it. There are a plethora of alternatives.
What I don't get is why so many of you ppl care so much that we are mad and want to voice our opinions. Why are you trying to keep us as consumers doing what is our right and that is complaining about the pricing of something that is trying to sold to us? I think none of us are dumb here, we know if we don't like the value of something we don't have to buy it. For me, I hate the bundle and don't think the skin that is in the bundle is worth the extra $2 since I am mostly a killer main who only plays Survivor an hour a day. The skin btw is awful and wish it was the Grid Xeno skin instead. Either way, I decided to just get the killer for $5 even tho I wanted Rapley but I'm not spending $10. That said it is still my right and others' right to complain about this sudden change of pricing logic even if doesnt do anything. How about this I throw your logic right back at you, If you don't like us complaining then stop looking at this thread. No one is forcing you to look at our complaints right? Like no one forcing us to buy the bundle.
At the end of the day, we are just mad that an option a lot of us like to get two characters for a slightly lower price is gone now, and are forced to pay $10 for both characters (saving nothing) or pay a higher price for a bundle that has a skin we may not even want. The consumer-friendly way they could have done was simply add two versions of the bundle to the store(a 6.99 bundle with just the charas and an 11.99 bundle with the skin(even tho is ugly as sin))

Then dont buy it, that is literally the only thing that will work. Complaining wont do anything
The whole "just don't buy it" doesnt work either tbh. Voting with your wallet alone is meaningless bc of the whales out there. Today gaming space has shown that companies doesnt have to care if they don't get a few dollars from a few hundred ppl as long as they have whales to feed them the $$$. Look at Gachas, look at Apex, OW2 or Valorant. All these games ppl complain about and don't spend money on but do these companies care to change? No bc they do not have to since they know there is some whale out there who has WAY to money that willing to spend it on overpriced BS.
A lot of ppl on here are missing the point why ppl are mad about the bundle. They removed an opinion to get the characters at a discount without telling any of us they were going to. They just decided we just charge more for the bundle and throw a ######### skin in there to justify it(and yes both the nick cage and Ripley skins in their bundles are bad, at least imo). At the end of the day will our complaining do anything? No, most likely it won't but I will continue to act on my right to complain about a product that a greedy company is trying to sale me. That is my and your right as consumers.
-
Here few things I have to add. Like many others, I'm not happy with this new pricing logic, and even Otz and other streamer has voiced their opinions on this subject. Yes, it's true that you don't have to buy the dlc and just use cells but that does cost you more than before let's not kid ourselves with that. Bundles used to be a way for ppl to get all the characters for a slightly discounted price but now that option is competely gone it seems. Now you are forced to either spend $10 for both characters or $12 for the characters and one skin for the survivor. It just doesn't feel good that they took the option away from us as consumers. Now if they added two versions of the bundle(one with the skin and another without) that would been the better option imo. That way ppl who want the skin and the characters save little money and the ppl who don't want the skin but want the characters save little money. More options are better for the consumer.
On another note about this bundle and other bundles. I'm personally tired of killers getting left out of these bundles in terms of skins. No matter what they include a survivor skin but never anything for the killer. Personally, I would been more than happy to play the $11.99 for this bundle if they included the Grid Xeno skin also since at least someone who plays more killer than Survivor would get something. Don't get me wrong I play both roles but I do play Killer more and if I got this bundle I would get much less value than someone who plays Survivor more.
The last thing I say will be toward those who think ppl like myself or the OP are entitled. As consumers, we have every right to voice our dislikes about something a company is trying to sell us and price increases. Yes, it is also our right to not buy it. That doesnt mean we can't complain about it either tho. We just giving the company feedback and letting them know we are unhappy with the value of the product they trying to sell us. No one is being entitled here we just doing our part as consumers. The whole vote with your wallet doesnt do anything by itself. You need to voice your complaints also. I have voiced my issues with this chapter both on here and Twitter. I also only got the killer since right now that was the only thing I could afford. I would like to get Ripley since I like to try her perks but I am not paying another $5 just for perks and a character I would bearly play. Guess that another thing here its not just the character we talking about it's their perks also. BHVR is now casking you to spend more money for perks since a lot of ppl out there buy characters just for perks since that is an easier way to get them than waiting 6 months to a year to get them from the god-awful shine.
-

So to get the grid cosmetic, I have to pay 500 to unlock him, then another 675 also?
Yup, that is another thing I really hate. Killers don't get anything in these bundles. I will be honest I hate the new pricing logic but I would pay $11.99 if it at least came with both characters and a skin for each of them.
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
Players can still buy the chapter for Auric Cells. I would not fret over this.
This is true but the idea of bundles was it was a way for ppl to save some money if they wanted all the characters in a chapter. Two characters when buying with Auric Cells cost you $10 and buying the bundle would cost you $7.99. This means you save $2 by buying the bundle. Now you have to play an extra $2 for the bundle just for a skin you may not even want.
-
I just wanted to let the devs know I'm not a fan of this new trend of increasing the pricing of the DLC Bundle just because they adding a Rare skin to it. It started in the Nick Cage patch and I wasn't too bothered by it since that only came with one survivor so the skin I saw was a way to sweeten the deal but now with the Alien Bundle, they did it again and made it $11.99 for two characters and one Rare Skin(imo isn't even good looking). I liked how you all used to do bundles where a killer and survivor were $7.99 and the only chapters at $11.99 were chapters that came with 3 characters(one killer and two survivors). I hope you all don't continue this trend and go back to the old way of pricing bundles.
I also add if do continue this new trend then plz consider adding something for Killer also. $11.99 just for one extra skin that is only for survivors isn't great for those who play Killer more than Survivor. I would be more willing to pay that price if you also included a killer skin along with a survivor skin. You could easily include the grided xeno skin also. Either way, I just don't think $11.99 is not worth it for 2 characters and one meh skin. I will not be buying this bundle or any more future bundles if you continue down this road of pricing.

Just before Made for This released I could swear these same killer mains were complaining about Sprintburst and Lithe being OP. Lol.
I can't speak for all Killer Main but I know I never complain about SB or Lithe. In fact, to this day I still prefer to go against a lobby of SBs and Lithes rather than DHs or MfTs. SB and Lithe I can play around and make choices. What choice do I have when chasing an Mft survivor? Shoot I don't even know if someone has MfT till at the end of the match so I cant even play around that info since I dont have it to begin with.

Dev blog for what exactly? Xeno doesn't really need that many changes, bug fixes will be written in the patch notes, and you're in full-on copium if you think they'll add some unannounced balance changes, especially because it's not a mid chapter patch
Ppl just like reading about changes that are being made based on feedback from the PTB even if it's as small as a bug fix. I know I do and I would been happy just a tweet saying "We decided we not making any major changes from the PTB and release it live as is on the release date." Hearing nothing from the devs makes ppl think all the feedback they gave during the PTB wasn't heard. Xeno may not need many changes but there were a few QoL stuff ppl asked for and wanted to see.

post-ptb changes there were major though, they literally did almost a second rework to Sadako which turned her into a low mmr monster.
At the time a lot of people didn't see those changes as major things to Sakoro. No one knew those changes were going to make her like she is now. I don't know what to tell you, It's not like I'm saying that my guess is right or not. Its just a guess or theory I have one why we not getting a dev blog. It also could be that they just forgot to write one up or they just going to stop the post ptb dev blogs and just make us wait till the patch notes come out. Who honestly really knows right now?
-
I just think we didnt get a dev log bc there just isnt any major changes being made from PTB to Live this time around. It like the last patch with Nick Cage. We didnt get a dev blog for that till the day before the patch came out and even then the changes they made from ptb to live in that patch were very minor.

This is indeed silence as heck.
23 hours away from a new chapter goes live and literally not a single dev log after ptb started. It's kinda weird, I don't remember something like that in previous ptbs.
They did this with Nick Cage Patch also. They didnt release a dev log till the day before the patch came out. The reason why I think is there just isnt any major changes being made from PTB to Live. With the Nick Cage patch, barely anything was changed from PTB so we didnt get a dev log till the day before that only covered the one or two minor changes they did. I feel this chapter will be more or less the same. There just weren't enough major changes from the ptb to post one ahead of time.

Thank you. It’s really not that hard is it.
It’s hilarious to me how this thread is boiling down to “this community is toxic and the devs can’t handle it ergo voice chat= bad”.
Of course in that equation it’s voice chat that is the problem…
You don't know how hard it would be since you know you are not a game dev. You have no clue how much time and money the dev would have to do to put in voice comms and police it. Just adding a mute button doesnt mean they don't have to police comms. Every game that has a voice has a mute button but guess what they still police comms and ban ppl for slurs and other things. You can't just add a mute button and call it a day.
Now put yourself in the dev's shores for a moment. You put in the hard work, hours, and money to add voice comms in a game that is already been made for years and even add a system to police it. Then you see that most players either keep it off or use the comms to be toxic. Only a very few players use it for the reason why you made it in the first place. Not really worth the time and money now is it? Why add something to a game that is just either going to be not used or be abused by toxic ppl? The biggest thing is TCM and other games were designed with voice in mind and those systems were put in as the game code was being made. DBD wasn't and adding a new system to the already made code would not be as easy as you may think.
-
Honestly, I don't want in-game voice in dbd, I don't want in-game voice in most games I play bc I just don't want to talk to strangers on pvp games. It only leads to toxicity bc you know the internet is a thing. I don't think I'm by myself on this either considering every game with in-game voice I play(OW and Hunt are the top two there) randoms don't talk anyway. I even seen streamer solo matches in TCM where most ppl don't use comms to talk. Ppl only really want to talk to ppl they know aka friends and in dbd you don't need in-game comms to do that. You have a software called Discord. There are a lot of ppl like myself who either don't want to run the risk of talking to someone who is really toxic or just have social anxiety. I just don't see the point of putting in something that would take a bit of work to work into the game when only a small % of ppl who will really use it for what it is supposed to be used for. The rest will either leave it turned off or use it to be toxic to others and call each other slurs and other nasty things.
Think about it as soon as you mess up or make a mistake all the comms will be used for is to tell you that you suck and you should quit the game. I have seen this type so many times in other games and text chat in dbd can be like this also so voice would only make it worse. Then you have to think about female players, I have seen a lot of them get harassed in games too just for being female and that will happen in dbd also if voice is added. Face it there ALOT of toxic ppl out there in pvp games and the chances of you running into them on a daily basis are pretty high imo so why risk it? I really don't think voice would be used to make solo queue better and only make it far far worse. I think a ping system would be the better way to add more comms to dbd not voice. Either way, if they did add comms I know I would never use it and just leave it turned off.

I'm tired of people using one killer as a reason to give all killers a giant nerf, and I'm tired of people pretending this problem is 100% the fault of killers, when survivors are sometimes also at fault for excessively pre-leaving the generators.
The problem needs to be fixed on both sides. This shouldn't be a 100% nerf for killers.
I agree with you. I feel some survivors don't realize that 3 genning can be their fault also. Every 3 gen game I have had on any killer is at the fault of the survivors. I never start the match out with finding a 3 gen to defend and stay there all game along even with knight and SM. That said if I see that the last three gens are close to each I will camp those since by then thats on the survivors, not me.
That said it is an issue on both sides and I'm wondering what fix the devs have in mind for 3 genning since they said they are looking into a fix for it.
-
I don't really any likes or dislikes on either game especially TCM since I don't have it. I thought about getting it but $40 is a lot and I'm not 100% I enjoy it. Family looks fun but I hear it's not solo friendly and I'm not a fan of talking to strangers(social anxiety sucks). My friends are not into games like DBD and this is main reason I play killer in DBD. Victim doesn't look super interesting to me either even though it is solo friendly. Either games have their ups and downs. I may grab TCM on a sale if it still alive by then

I just wanted to say I would love to see some video evidence of these so call maps that have 8-10 pallets on them that Pulars boldly claimed. I don't think I have ever seen a map in this game spawn that little amount of pallets.

They should've mentioned tombstone Myers as well. I didn't even pay attention to them listing Pyramid Head lol. I just saw the Sadako and Rancor and my mind skipped away from the rest.
Tombstone Myers is a better example than any of the things they listed xD Tombstone Myers can straight up kill someone at the beginning of match if he feed enough. Meanwhile Sakaro moir takes a lot of time to build up and rancor is a endgame perk.

Rancor let you delete a survivor out of the game. Sadako and pyramid head let you mori without hooking.
Umm just want to call you out on one thing here. Pyramid head does not let you mori someone without hooking them xD A survivor needs to be died on hook and be tormented for PH to moir them :P

I don't think you can do sweeping base kit buffs for these killers. I think the only way is to rework/buff the weaker m1 killers but it has been shown and said by the devs this isn't a priority. Unless the data tells them otherwise they are happy with where the killers are as a whole. For example, they think Trapper is fine where he is right now and have no plans to ever buff him or rework him since they feel that will only hurt newer players. They think Trapper is a stepping stone or entry point for the game and don't want to change that. I feel in their minds newer players just move on from Trapper after they played a decent amount of hours and play other killers. Either way, I think the only way to bring these lower killers up is to do specific buffs to each one of them than sweeping base kit buffs.

I had something like this happen to me but around main building on myers' map. The survivor was running MfT and kept vaulting the window in front of the building and heading upstairs to the right side (the side where a gen can spawn) and vaulting that window. I chase them around that house so many times and the problem was that since they had a good distance from me and a lot of line of slight blockers I kept losing chase when they around the corner of the house. This meant no matter what I did the windows would never be blocked or I would get bloodlust. It was a nightmare :-/

Unless you got some footage we really can't figure out that one. I do suggest playing as a Survivor here and there though and running Kindred. It'll open your mind on the different timings on how to apply the most pressure when you touch killer again. Don't even be shy about playing Dirty if you know it'll keep two survivors busy lol
I do play survivor. I always play 2 or 3 matches as survivor before I play killer. I don't know some days feel a lot harder to get downs and hooks. Today as I said I didn't get a single kill and only few hooks. I couldn't end chases fast enough and just having a horrible time as Wesker. Could be I just really rusty with him since I haven't played him for a bit. The other day I had a better time as Hux and legion.
-
I always hear that killer has been easier than it has ever been but there are days when I can't get a single kill and feel like the mmr is matching me with ppl way above my skill set. For exp today along I played 5 matches as Wesker and haven't got a single kill and maybe 3 hooks. I can't tell you why I'm having a hard time but I am and I got to the point I do not want to touch this game for a week. My last match was the worst where I had a meg who t-bag me after every single stun and I just gave up. I dc and decided that the game isnt for me right now in my mindset. So yeah killer may be easy on avg but there are days where killer feels so much harder for me.

I think there may be some misconceptions here, so I'll do my best to clear them up.
The game does use an MMR system for matchmaking and it has not been removed. That said, not every match will be perfect. Matchmaking systems need to balance match quality and queue times carefully. If it prioritizes making the absolute perfect matches every time, you're going to wind up waiting a very long time for a match. While some may be okay with that wait, others don't care as much and would rather play sooner. It's a tricky thing to perfect and something we're always tweaking to improve. The vast majority of matches are already within a very close margin where your odds of winning vary by a few percent.
There are some extreme cases where this is not possible, though. For example, if there aren't enough players near your rating playing in your area at the time you're playing. In cases like this, the matchmaking system has to gradually expand its search range until it can find you a match, otherwise you may be waiting a very long time (possibly forever). This scenario is fairly uncommon, and while it's unfortunate, there's not much we can do there. The matchmaking system can only work with the pool of players that are available to it.
But as far as levels go, they mean absolutely nothing and have no impact on matchmaking. If an expert survivor happened to pick a new character this match, they aren't suddenly a terrible player. Especially since the progression overhaul, they even have access to most perks right away. The same goes for grades and prestige; they have absolutely zero impact on matchmaking and do not reflect someone's skill in any way.
The exception to this is the PTB. Matchmaking ratings are not used on the PTB since there are not enough players on the test build to create quality matches. Therefore, it's disabled and you can be paired with anyone.
I suggest yall look into matchmaking right now and see if something has changed since as of late I feel my matches have been way too one-sided. I very rarely see balance matches anymore, there are either me(the killer) stomping the survivors at 4 gens or the survivors competely owning me and I walk away with 2 to 3 hooks and no kills. I know I'm not the only one who feels the matchmaking last few months have been really off. The streamer Hen333 made a post about it on Twitter a few weeks ago also.

Oh longer chases, it can easly be remedied with proxy camp and tunnel, dead lock, pain res, corrupt etc. Killers are constantly bloodlusting unsafe/semi safe pallets. I do actually play this game, so this ethical, fair killers fairytale is not working on me.
I really doubt every single killer you come across greeds bloodlust like that. You sound like a killer who claims every match they have is against a comp sfw team.

It is active only when injured and not exhausted. So survivors must avoid exhaustion perks (the most powerful one FYI) to get value. Seems balanced. Unlike handholding bloodlust.
Calling BL handholding is a joke. BL1 is just there for map design since there are still maps where BL1 is needed mostly around main buildings with broken windows and lerys with all windows that can be chained together. As for BL2 and BL3 if a killer is depending on these to get downs most likely there going to lose anyway since we talking about 25 to 35 secs in a chase with one survivor while the other three can use all that time to work on gens. Personally, I want BL2 and 3 gone not bc it's handholding, no for the opposite. It keeps killers learning the most important lesson and that is when to know to drop chase and find someone else. BL2 and 3 are weight down on killers since 9 our 10s if you spend that much time in one single chase you going to lose. Yeah, you may get one kill but the other 3 survivors are going to finish gens and leave. So no BL is not handholding stop calling it that. It's there bc these devs make maps WAY too safe for survivors and need some mech to make sure the killer can deal with the broken loops and chain of loops that are in the game. I say one more time BL 2 and 3 isnt needed in dbd but BL1 is needed so I say get rid of tier 2 and 3.

Dbd right now is so meh for me. I took a month's break in hopes when I come back I feel like playing again but just hasn't happened. The current meta for Survivor is slowly killing my enjoyment of playing Killer. Honestly, I don't know if it's the meta or the matchmaking but matches are just not fun for me anymore on some of my fav killers. It's pretty bad to say the most fun I have had this past week was the two days I was on PTB testing Alien against bots. Even the event wasn't that fun to me. I just know I see those three perks ALOT and it just hasn't been fun to go against every single match. I rather die in Hunt Showdown than even play dbd right now. Here hoping the Alien chapter brings me back to the game.
