@MandyTalk Just updating you on the code situation for me. Since receiving the first two codes I have received two additional codes in my email. One code worked and one did not. So that’s a total of 4 codes (even though I thought it was supposed to be 3 because of the 3 trivia questions) sent to me with only 2 actually giving me the reward. The other 2 that didn’t work said the reward was already claimed. Not really sure what the issue is with the codes, but figured I would let you know what’s happened since I first made this post.

Learn some manners.
Fixing code is not as easy as waving your hands over it and saying 'Be fixed in the name of Pythonia, Goddess of Python Code!' And the fact that it's 'been 16 days' means nothing; depending on the bugs, it can take longer or shorter to FIND the problem, nevermind fix it, then fix whatever else is affected by that fix, then fix everything affected by THAT fix...
Code does not exist in a vacuum; changing one thing can have an effect on so many other aspects of the code that it boggles the mind.
So, again; learn some manners. It will help you in life.
There’s a difference between having manners and being pissed because the devs don’t know how to properly test things and sort out their mess of code they already have for the game in order to prevent such bugs from even occurring. There are too many bugs in the game (and have always been) and the devs just slowly fix them, at a rate that doesn’t match with how fast they seem to add bugs tbh.
The state of the game has only gotten worse over the last few months and I see why people are fed up. For every issue they manage to fix, they seem to add a few more and now they choose to prioritize money over game health and of course that’s going to take a toll on the player base that’s been dealing with this for who knows how long now. Console has gotten the worst end of it tbh because they’ve always been in need of better optimization, but now it’s actually worse than it was before and they can’t even play a game they put money into, especially if these people have purchased DLC and cosmetics before and have put countless hours into the game.
So to be fair, I suggest you learn some compassion because while you do have a point, there are people out there who have given BHVR countless chances to make things better but clearly they cannot. People are tired and want to just have fun in the game they paid for, but they cannot because BHVR is too ambitious and doesn’t have their priorities straight.

Nah he is not good. I say the biggest cause of this is the speed boost survivors get upon initially being contaminated. I feel so helpless when playing as him because every survivor team I get knows it’s his weakness, especially if you aren’t using any gen regression perks (like I tend to do). I say he needs a few more minor buffs to make him a good killer on top of that one, but currently I rate him as a C tier killer (on the lower end if I’m being honest).
-
Another reason why they need to skip a chapter or two to focus on game health. Ever since they reworked the Asylum they’ve been having issues with new content they are releasing not working right. Whether it be maps, killer abilities, or desync/bug issues, something is always getting messed up and it tends to be a very bad issue that’s becoming more and more frequent.

Well on here nothing a killer does is toxic apparently. It’s always survivors fault. Noed is because survivors didn’t get enough totems, not a reward for a killer who did poorly all game. Maps are survivor sided yet devs keep removing loops and windows, and the 4K rate is sky high. Killer tunneling? That’s survivors fault since they did a rescue, right? See the theme here?
The 4K rate isn’t sky high. And half the things you listed are the survivors fault anyways (whether it be because of a teammate or yourself or the team as a whole).
-
I would also like to add that his add ons are mostly useless, or have too little of an effect on his power.

So you’re fine with a completely OP character?
But I guess slinger is too much of an issue
I agree with @CoalTower . The skill of the survivor is correctly identifying patterns in the killer’s behavior (Slinger, Nurse, and even Spirit) and using that to your advantage. If you are unpredictable, it makes their job even harder. They might be a bit unfun to play against if you don’t understand their counterplay, but that’s why you practice going against them and build a better understanding of how one wins against them.

Hag needs changes as her ability to camp is so annoying to go against and is a bit of an unhealthy way to play.
Fair enough. Maybe just have her traps have a range in which they can’t be placed near hooked survivors.

As much as I wish that would be enough, knowing if she's phasing or not would be for the most part useless. Yes the stand still mind game no longer works, but if she is phasing then you're still stuck in the same situation where you have no info on where she is while she has loads of info on where you are.
I don’t see why that’s an issue. It offers a unique style of gameplay where you are forced to deceive her with your general location and make reads on what she will do. The only other change I would maybe suggest is automatically resetting her power gauge to 50% everytime she phases so she isn’t constantly short bursting her power for free hits.

@Altarf said:
Reworking Nurse is a complete slap in the face to everybody who bothered spending hundreds of hours learning her. She is one of the most unique killers in the entire game, and her power isn't just a "oh no I'm dead" no-counterplay fest like Spirit, who actually does need a nerf. She has her own unique set of counterplay like doubling back, line of sight blockage, acting unpredictably, etc - all which unlike Spirit actually matters.
Nurse is not a problem. She is incredibly strong, and is incredibly difficult to learn and play to compensate without having a complete lack of counterplay. If you want a problem to fix, look at Spirit, who is very nearly at the same level of Nurse with add-ons with less than a tenth of the skill required or counterplay.
I'm sorry, but a lot of this list I heavily disagree with. Nu-Freddy as perfect? Spirit as only needing minor tweaks? Legion, of all killers, needing a complete rework? Twins needing to be nerfed MORE?
Maybe I placed Nurse a bit too harsh on my list. I generally just hate her add ons and power bugs. Spirit does not need anything too drastic in my opinion, but she does need a couple nerfs. Freddy is not perfect (as I said I don’t really like his add ons too much) but he’s still a really good killer with good perk synergies. Legion has the most useless power in the game (a popular opinion). And Twins need nerfing in that they are ultra good at camping, slugging, and tunneling, all the things everyone hates about killer. I want to see a more interactive gameplay from them tbh.
-
@GeneralV said:
I fail to see how Freddy, with his current generic and extremely unfun power, is close to being a "perfect" killer.
If anything I would maybe put Freddy into slight changes needed. His power is currently fine and when played correctly he still can be a threat, but now he just isn’t as oppressive as he used to be in my opinion.
-
@NoOneKnowsNova said:
Move down Nurse to needs a rework and move down spirit to significant changes, then I think this list is right.
Spirit is fine. She just has a strong add on set that could use minor nerfing and needs an indicator when she begins phasing to give the survivor some sort of information going into chase with her.

Honestly Ghostface isn't bad, except having really inconsistent stealth, since sometimes you get revelaed behind walls and sometimes survivors can't reveal when directly staring at you.But I believe that's more of a fault on network side.
As for Myers, I'm honestly surprised people want him to get completely reworked. I think his power can be devastating, if used correctly. Maybe tweak/change some of his addons, but his stalk isn't as bad as people make it seem.
Ghost Face reveal mechanic just feels bad from both sides. I think there needs to be a rework of that specifically. Also, he is too add on reliant, and should be buffed in how fast his power gauge refills. He does also have some very lackluster add ons beyond the few good ones he has.
Myers is definitely good in the right hands, but he is similar to Trapper in that his power needs a bit of set up before he can become strong. Generally good survivors know how to limit his power as much as possible and don’t seem to fear him at loops anymore. He’s become too perk reliant, and his addons are rather garbage in my opinion.
-
@Karao_Ke said:
Going off of your list, why do you think Oni needs changes? I thought he was in a sweet spot.
I would personally like to see some add on adjustments for Oni. Some are good, some are bad. Top knot is still kind of ridiculous. And maybe increase his base rate at which he passively builds his meter because he really needs a good early game to snowball properly. Nothing too wild of a change though.
-
@Northener1907 said:
Nurse? Wow dude, seriously. Nurse?
Nurse does not need buff or nerf, she is perfect.
I say mostly for her buggyness as well as her having quite bad add ons overall. She is a good killer on paper, but why so many people don’t want to play her is she can be too janky to learn and she gets frustrating. But I do think she needs another add on overhaul because she has like 2 useful add on sets.

It doesn't even hurt Wraith much on the initial approach anymore, not with his new cloaked speed.
Looking away just enough is still better of course, but i find Spine Chill less and less threatening these days.
Even though Wraith can handle the perk better than the others doesn’t mean Myers, Ghost Face, Pig, and even Deathslinger (with M&A) deserve to be stuck with the aftermath of a perk that defeats their purpose.
-
@Wazzup said:
Doesn't looking to the side a bit not trigger Spine Chill?
So we just gonna play the game sideways now? I don’t think that’s a fair “counter”. I still don’t mind the perk triggering when a killer is approaching, but it can constantly trigger, removing any sort of stealth the killer may have to attempt to get closer for a hit on the survivor unexpectedly.

OoO Was Nerfed, DS was nerfed, BT was Nerfed/Buffed, Lucky Break was changed from PTB and now I've only seen it once despite this outcry of it being op.
The fact of the matter is, making tiles weaker and maps smaller as a whole is way more beneficial to literally any perk change so I have no idea why you act like I'm complaining when what I suggested is a far stronger change than DS, but pop off sweetie.
and for what it's worth i don't care about DS, haven't used it in years besides those two weeks after they changed it because i was getting sick of all the tunneling killers when there was no obsession.
While yes, maps/tiles do need some adjusting (which is kind of the point of the whole Realm Beyond thing), that doesn’t mean perks shouldn’t be looked at as well. Why not make changes to both?
-
@Mr_K said:
Starting to scratch the bottom of the barrel aren't we?
I’m just putting my thoughts out there on 2 overlooked strong perks that can be very impactful on killer’s momentum, similar to how DS used to. If you want to bring the game closer to balance, I think perks like these need some sort of small adjustment to bring down their strength just a bit.
-
@TruEternity said:
Both are good perks, neither needs a nerf in any way. If you’re having trouble with a spine chill iron will gamer, get better a game awareness. Both have easy counter play, and just because they have synergy with other perks does not mean they are too good.
Never said their synergy was the big problem. It’s just that they are ridiculously strong and no one realizes it. One basically mutes you as a survivor, removing one of the killer’s senses. The other basically is free information significantly more ahead of time than a killer’s terror radius. I don’t really have trouble against them as killer myself, but after using these perks for so long as survivor I can see why some killers, particularly stealth killers, struggle. They work a bit too we’ll at what they do and I feel as though they need some sort of slight adjustment for balancing the game.
-
As a Wraith and Myers main, I would like to see Spine Chill nerfed a tad bit to keep it from completely countering my stealth abilities.

Really similar to mine. I could understand some of the subtle differences tho for a few killers. My only gripes would be Doctor and Plague.
-
@glitchboi said:
A decent list, although I'd probably change a few things.
- Nurse is slightly more powerful than Spirit tho I'll leave that on you since that's your opinion
- Demo is DEFINITELY not C-tier, should be B-tier at best.
- I would swap Wraith with GF.
- I would swap Pig with Trickster.
- Clown should be at least high C-tier imho
Once you got all of that, you pretty much have my tier list.
For me, Nurse is just too map dependent. Spirit counter play to me is harder than Nurse counter play. Plus anyone can be a good spirit. It’s hard to become a good Nurse (for most players). Maybe I’m missing something with Demo, but I just feel some of the aspects of his kit (killer instinct and undetectable namely) are too underwhelming. And I could maybe see Clown at the low end of C tier now, but I don’t think he’s better than a lucky Pig.
-
@Luciferr_2nd said:
IMO, pretty solid tier list but:
Legion - Definitely not bottom of D tier, either top of D or bottom of C.
Pig - Shes D tier
Trickster - Worst killer in the game
Wraith - Probably a bit lower
I could say other things like you could squeeze blight in S tier just to have less in A tier, but those were the things that stuck out to me the most, maybe ill make my own tier list soon :)
I personally think Pig is a bad killer too, but I have to admit that when her RBTs RNG works I her favor than she can be very lethal. See my previous comment about legion. Wraith could arguably be a little lower than he is but B tier is definitely where he belongs (in my opinion).
-
@DbD_Enjoyer said:
I wonder if you placed Doctor this high up with or without addons...
Trickster is not Trash tier tho, neither is Trapper.
I placed Doctor based on addons/no addons. His tracking is phenomenal, he has a smal bit of game delay with madness III, his anti-loop is decent (just hard to master), and with add-ons/perks he can be very gimmicky in good ways. Trapper is too set up & addon reliant and can have his power denied by good survivors. Trickster is only good at certain loops. I may have been a bit harsh on him naming him second worst killer, but one portion of his power is almost useless (main event) and his power does nothing if you can’t land 8 consecutive hits. Plus he’s 110%. I think he just needs more tweaks to become viable.
-
@AhoyWolf said:
Legion is so underrated it hurts, I would put them in B tier personally.
If a team knows they’re going against legion all they have to do is spread out and he no longer has a power. Being injured for good survivors means nothing too half the time anyways. That’s why he is the worst killer.
-
@dtavares7 said:
Wraith is dogshit what are you on? lmao
Yeah he's great fun at rank 20 but ranks 1-5 he's basically useless, survivors HEAR you coming from a mile away due to his mouth breathing, and his "invisibility" is trash
He's fun but no good
As a consistent red rank killer myself, I find Wraith to be very good at handling most red rank teams (some red rank teams aren’t truly deserving of being in red ranks tbh but that’s just how the game is). I might be biased in that Wraith is one of my mains that I have mastered quite well, but I honestly think he has way more potential than you’re giving him credit for. Against some really hard teams, I find that with Wraith you can change up your play style easily to best go against different types of strong teams.
I think he will be similar in perception to when Leatherface was buffed. At first, everyone thought the buff was good but nothing special, but now everyone fears Leatherface because he can be very deadly if played aggressively.
-
I meant more that one of Plague's should be basekit. Same with Pig. Sorry I didnt make that clear lol.
-
Nurse if you can master her. Which to be honest I dont think many people can do, cause I feel it's so rare to run into a good Nurse these days. So next would be Spirit. She is not that hard to master, & is quite common. Then I would probably say Freddy. Arguably the easiest killer to play in the game & has a kit that helps him with so many different things.
-
Also have to take into account that most people are probably keeping crossplay on. The game is able to throw these players into matches no problem, while it has to take time to find survivors on the same system as you that also do not want crossplay on or that are available to be in a match with you. You are basically limiting the hell out of your own playerbase by disabling crossplay. So I mean to be honest, unless you reenable cross play, you are doing this to yourself because you don't want to pair with console players (who do in fact most wear headphones in my experience, so they understand direction).
-
The Game is probably my favorite as killer because the map is designed in a way that's generally more fair towards killers (though there are still some strong loops for survivors). As survivor, I would say my favorite is probably Lery's because there are more windows to utilize (less pallet reliability which I like for a change).
As killer, I hate both Haddonfield & Ormond. Haddonfield has neverending fences & is trash for basically all killers. Ormond just has so many strong tiles that spawn on it & I am not a fan of the map being snowy (too bright for me, hate playing Trapper on that map).
-
If I'm being honest, I don't think Iri-head hatchets are that OP. But I also understand how to dodge & juke Huntress's hatchets quite well while other players might not. Literally all they need to do to fix iri-head is give a small distance requirement to the addon & change it so it only removes 3 hatchets instead of 4. A distance of greater than 10m or something to instadown a survivor I think would make it balanced for all ranks of players. But you couldn't just leave it at only giving Huntress one hatchet to work with if you add that downside. 2 hatchets would be fine at that point.
-
I would say within the next 2 weeks. Hasn't been announced yet but we are about due for the next chapter to start being teased at any point now.
-
They just need to balance around SWF. Give solo queues some buffs to equal everything out (information buffs mostly). & make killers strong enough to at least threaten a sweaty SWF enough to not be considered a pushover killer.
-
They only reverted one of the 2 changes they made to his kit after his PTB release (this being the dissipation rate, his heat gain rate is the same). I agree that something needed changing because they basically gave him a limitation to his chainsaw that never even activated unless you forced yourself to. While I do think overall that the Overheat mechanic isn't necessary on Billy, if it's here to stay it might as well actually do something rather than be a pointless addition.
The devs are gonna need to just monitor their changes & make sure they can find a sweet spot for Billy & his new mechanic. I don't think this hotfix will be as debilitating to him as some seem to think. It will give his Overheat some purpose though & actually in theory would buff his one yellow addon that reduces his TR when overheated. In the end, I think Hillbilly will be fine & that people are currently just overreacting.
-
I was playing Trapper. I was on the Father Campbell's Church map with basement in the church & the safety window at the top of the steps (though I kept it trapped). The start of the match I let one gen go unpressured as I trapped the hell out of the church. I managed to quickly down one survivor right after & put them in the basement. Then the toxic survivors with their flashlight (and one with a key), tried so hard to make saves & get out of the basement, but they all just kept stepping in traps & getting downed. The game finally ended just to realize they ALL had the small pp build (DS, Unbreakable, Soul Guard, & an exhaustion perk). Good times.
-
Ahem. Head On would like a word with you.
-
The way to play solo survivor when you realize your team isn't competent is to be selfish. If a team of mine is not helping me in any way to get the gens done & escape, then I play by the hatch/EGC. It at least improves my experience in that case because of just how unreliable solo queues tend to be.
To be honest, the part of Kindred that shows where teammates are once hooked should just be a base kit tool. That in itself would greatly improve the solo experience.
-
Usually dailies or challenges. Sometimes if I see a key. Definitely if the team only consists of Claudettes, Neas, & Fengs. It's a proven fact that those teams are toxic.
-
The game is quite scary. Have you ever been chased by a Nea with a flashlight while Feng & Dwight are being gen jockies & David is looping you on the busted Ormond map? That's some scary stuff right there if you ask me.
-
Ace in the Hole, Plunderer's Instinct, Pharmacy, & a increased chest amount offering. I like finding & gifting fellow survivors.
Hex: Retribution, Hex: Haunted Ground, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, & Hex: Devour Hope. Makes it a fun game as they try so desperately to find which token needs to be destroyed before they all are screwed.
-
I would say Candyman, but I don't think we are gonna see him until the movie releases. Not sure what the current release date for the movie is, but if it has been postponed again I think the devs plans are gonna change & we will get something else (whether it be licensed or original). It could still be Candyman even if the movie does get postponed again, cause I mean in theory that could also be good advertising for the movie to those who are forgetting about it releasing in the near future.
-
Yeah I thought I was tripping when Ghost Face was locked for me (though I bought him on release). They said it's an issue that is happening due to the Steam maintenance though. So it should be resolved easily & shouldn't remove player progress on said characters since it has to do with something outside of the game.
-
I don't see why people are upset over killer lock. Survivors have no idea who the killer is & they just make their own builds theorizing who they could be up against. Even if I'm like a Hag for example & I end up against a bunch of flashlighters that I can't change my killer on, I just see it as a challenge & play it out. While yes I wouldn't mind a survivor lock as well, I genuinely don't care enough if the devs never implement one. And before anyone goes trying to call me a survivor main, I'm not. I play both equally enough to know that it's really not a big deal.
-
I wish I was having the same experience. I feel like I've been playing French Fry Simulator all day because everyone I'm with/against is a potato. It hasn't been fun carrying every single game today, & I'm not even trying to make myself sound like a god tier survivor. The teams I'm being paired with have just been that bad. Like the solo queue experience is generally rough with weak teams, today feels like that but on steroids.

dude the system on pc wasnt even out for a day seriouslty dont complain for at least a week for a system like that to actually get the right mmr on people
They said they have been calculating ppl's MMR for a while now. The system should be working decently at least if they are properly calculating MMR. Like it's significantly worse than the previous matchmaking system in that not a single match today have I had a competent team. I'm just voicing my thoughts on how it is after less than a day, & it's not that great atm.
@Vox_Nocturne said:
I guess the MMR works better the more the game is played by that individual, as more trials gives a greater accuracy to that person's particular skillset. So it could be that you're facing people at an early stage, where they maybe trashed earlier opponents.
We're not sure how the numbers work in terms of MMR. I can only speak from my own experience that the MMR has been a much, much needed improvement on the previous system, and I've been very happy with it.
It would be good to see how the MMR calculates, so as to get a better understanding. However, I also believe there are people who would exploit the system, once they understand how. This would then throw matchmaking under another bus. If that's the case I empathise with the developers.
In the meantime, just smash out some easy victories and see whether the quality improves or not.
Any victory today has not been easy. I literally escaped once doing ALL 5 GENS. Like how tf do I get a team this bad, & a killer that was whiffing like a mf. & a match earlier where I was in chase for several minutes & not a single gen was done. I don't know how to get my team to actually be competent & it's driving me nuts.

Best solo queue perk to me is Iron Will. You can almost never rely on your team to heal you or bank on the chance that you find a medkit (if you don't bring one yourself). With Iron Will, you don't need either of those & you can just play more immersed to stay alive. But usually if I run Iron Will, I always accompany it with Spine Chill so I get more information on when a killer is coming so I can get to hiding faster. Usually the teams that take too long to unhook you don't react much faster when you have Kindred equipped (in my personal experience). Sometimes teammates just prioritize gens more than their teammate or are clowning around in the match, & while putting on Kindred should help fix these problems I find that it usually doesn't. That's the real problem with solo queue, is that teammates are too unreliable. So the solution? Run perks that help you not have to rely on your teammates. My personal go to build is Spine Chill, Iron Will, Dead Hard, & Prove Thyself (PTS is there to entice teammates to work on gens with you so they think twice about abandoning you).
-
Hatch shouldn't go (for use by keys that is), but the whole hatch opening for last survivor & Endgame Collapse process should. Tru3ta1ent had a good idea before where once there is only one survivor left, a timer begins automatically. During this time, the survivors position is intermittently revealed to the killer (through auras or something) & they must kill the survivor before the time runs out. If the survivor lasts long enough, the exit gates would open up & they would be able to run out if they can make it before being downed. Something similar to this would actually make getting the 4K a bit more interactive rather than having to slug & search for several minutes. Survivors also wouldn't be able to DC tech to give each other hatch. Seems fair to me for a solution.
-
I want the devs to answer what their thought process is on this addon during the next Q&A. There's no way they can explain a logical reason for running this addon & keep a straight face. If any one of the devs can give me any reason how this addon is effective, then I won't ever question their choices in coming up with addon/perk ideas.
