You wouldnt question it if you played killer and got matched with a 2-2-6-17 on rank 11.
-
Surveillance and make your choice are very nice perks. She’s decent but there are more fun killers to play, that being said she isn’t well worth the investment
-
I’m always loving thrilling tremors. Incredibly underrated
-
I feel like it would be much more kind to use you’re use bps with the big influx of new players from the stranger things chapter

I tend to give them one of these ^.^
THEY LOSE THEIR ######### MINDS 😚 xx
I guess I’ll jus keep it at the gg from now on. I sent over a paragraph last night to dude explaining how wrong he was and that his boosted ass needed to go back to green ranks where he belonged. Woke up this morning and now I’m a hacker because he doesn’t understand how BT works, or in his case didn’t work. Next time I’ll be ready. Ive got sad panda and pretty good job so far memes ready.

You gotta drink lots of water, dude. Too much sodium is bad for your body.
Right?! That’s why im trying to avoid some of it.
-
Other way around. Good survivors make your life miserable because his power can’t down people
-
Discordance is good, mad grit and Iron Maiden are niche af so you’ll never use them
-
I play sneaky but I still try to expose people. I think the way he is supposed to be played Is stalking people to 99 and smacking others. You wind up with 2 or 3 free hooks every game because people try to take hits for others not realizing how far they’ve been been stalked. You can also just straight up expose people if they’re in a dead area late game
-
I’ve fought my way to purple ranks with him, I’ll be red by tomorrow

Until the survivors have decisive strike due to camping/tunneling then some killer mains get mad when they use it.
Camping is a form of strategy, but it’s just a very boring one.
Takes me forever to find a game only to get camped in the end. Not epic. 🤡
The appropriate way to bait is to slug the unhooked survivor and chase the unhooker. And before you even mention BT I play ghostface 9 out of 10 times and laugh at borrowed time

I personally don't consider that camping, because in that scenario you're acting upon hard data. 2 left, no aura on hook, 9 times out of 10 the last guy is already in position for a rescue. There's literally nothing else for you to do but look for that last guy and you've been given an idea of where he is.
If I hook someone and there's someone nearby, I am absolutely going after that person even if it means staying relatively close to the hook at the time. But my goal is the other survivor which I'm actively pursuing, not the one on the hook.
To me, camping is a very specific mindset where you make a deliberate decision to park in a spot because you expect to get more kills that way. If you happen to do a lot of work in the same area while pursuing different objectives and dynamically updating your play, that's not camping to me. That's just one zone of the map being hot.
I don’t consider it camping either, that’s why I called it baiting
-
You make better progress by not camping, that being said I do believe in baiting the 2nd to last survivor especially when they don’t show up with bbq. That’s a wise choice because you lose more time going the wrong direction than you would staying put

they take too much time to set up to really be great I think, on top of having a cooldown to use them
I typically drop 3 or 4 before I start opening them. Drop them at every gen whenever you start, most importantly the closest, pick a direction dropping them along the way. When you reach the en crawl back to your first portal and go the other direction and you can put out a pretty crazy amount of map pressure like that.
-
@yeet said:
I think people are overrating him
His portals are finicky and difficult to use effectively
they provide information and pressure, granted the they can be kind of clunky but they still perform well. You also have priority if they’re breaking one
-
I would say b- currently, after he breaks pallets with shred I would put him at b+. Either way he’s above hag. A lot of people overestimate hag.

Considering he's fine with Chewed Pen alone, this would mean he would have absolutely no use for Chewed Pen if you shortened the cooldown. While Chewed Pen is in pretty much every build, it's not even really needed imo, as you still have it up in a decent time frame. With Chewed Pen alone, you can have your power up within a few seconds after hooking your first victim in my experience though, so lowering the cooldown would just basically give you a base Chewed Pen, and you'd just bring other addons all the time.
As for buggy revealing, it's inconsistent. Sometimes you can stare straight at GhostFace, and not reveal him at all, and other times you can stare at him while he's behind solid objects and still reveal him. There are a lot of times when I should be revealed that I'm not when I play him, as well as times where I should have revealed him as a survivor when I didn't. Now I haven't played vs too many GhostFace's recently(doesn't mean he's bad, just people are trying the Demogorgon and have more preferred killers possibly, and there's the detection issues people had), and I've bought other DLCs for killers so I haven't been playing him, so they may have fixed that, but those are the issues with reveal detection.
What I would like though for GhostFace would be a different UR addon than GhostFace Caught on Tape. I'd like a UR addon that instead made his terror radius 0 at all times, but removed his ability to stalk and gave all hits extra deviousness.
Ghostface caught on tape is the jelly jams. Outdoors security cam is useless, I would prefer that they made it a tremendously increase nightshroud recovery

As a killer main, I’m gonna say hell f*cking no. One gen in 60 seconds with one survivor would mean 4 people could get one done in like 20. Now imagine if a few or all of them had toolboxes on a large map. We would have like 10 second generators. They could finished 3 of them before you even found someone. If you did get lucky enough to find someone fast then genrushing during chases would be significantly More painful. 5 minute games would become the norm. So no this would not make playing killer on large maps less painful, it would make it absolutely agonizing.
-
I believe the BEST way would be to Waite for the double bp event next weekend
-
I think the second objective would be a good idea, I’ve mentioned it on forums before to have a gate relay to power the gates, but that should only start on blue ranks. Red ranks would have a relay for each gate
-
Not every totem spawn can be great, but hawkins has some fantastic totem spawns all snuggled up in the shelving where you have to look directly at them from the proper angle
-
The new map is awesome! Probably less awesome for survivor mains
-
You just have to click on the name of the people at the end result to to send them a message, but I would like an after match chat, it’s would be much more convenient
-
A lot us are still in blue, queue times are like 10-15 minutes when not at peak hours and it’s been less than 10 days since rank reset, and we do have jobs and families and such. Give it another week
-
ruin isn’t necessarily requirement, but no other perk buys as much time.
I think another objective would be good like you have to activate a relay to send power to the gates and each gate would have it’s own relay, but this new objective didnt start until blue ranks
-
Lol hnl is 1000% killer friendly. It’s nearly impossible to escape, there are dead ends, and the very few pallets that are safe are easily mingamed. Idgaf about your bl imma be waiting for you when you hit the ground ;)
-
I like playing against red ranks in blue, they make you better at the game faster- you learn more optimal routes, they highlight your weaknesses, and increase your ability to track. I prefer tight games to easy games always, it’s more fun and actually feels like an accomplishment if you play well.
-
Man, I don’t want to sound like a prick because i am legitimately trying to help you, but a fair amount of it does come down to personal skill. If you can’t down someone in the amount of time it takes for one survivor to unhook another, heal them, and finish two gens with the survivor they spent extra time healing you’ve already lost because of you. Youre spending way to much time chasing and need to work on routes, mindgaming, moonwalking, and recognizing when you’re being taken for a jog in the fog and to just stop.

Ok, and when they're on the gens? What do you do then? It's 16s, that's not exactly gonna save the match.
After you hook you know which gen to make a beeline for. That’s map pressure. Maybe you find someone, maybe you don’t, but you’ve still stopped the progress of all the generators. If you’re running pop, you know where to use it. 16s rarely saves a match, but doing that 10 times in a match is 160s. So nearly 3 minutes of safe or prioritized gens If you’re using pgtw efficiently you can create way more time than that. I would guess closer to 8 minutes.
Now, assuming you do run into a survivor off of tt, which is a fair chance, you get a chase-during that time another survivor saves who is hooked, meaning that only one person is capable of doing a gen during that 16s-1m because you have tied up 3 of them. If you down the survivor you are chasing, you know where that single Guy working on a generator is, and you know what to pop. You’ve just created a good amount of map pressure, you’ve extended the game, and you’ve put the survivors in a reactive rather than proactive position, meaning you’re in control while they recover, and you can force them to be in recovery for the entire game. Add ruin and bbq into that and that’s what I run. I expect ruin not to last long, but it usually lasts long enough to get 3-4 hooks on average. Other times they break It 5 second in, other times I’ve already killed two people

I've tried that, Thrilling is more tracking than stall.
Pay attention to the cooldown and you can essentially guarantee that survivors can only do gens 25% of the time. It’s great because it’s stall and tracking, which means it slows their time and speeds yours up, so you get a double return for one perk slot. combined with pgtw it can turn a 5 minute genrush into a fifteen minute game. But it’s perfectly fine on its own.
-
I don’t facecamp, I make an attempt not to tunnel unless they’re the only ones I can see. I will absolutely patrol hooks with gens, and although I understand that survivors don’t like being slugged, it’s often the best possible move killers can make in certain situations so complaining about it is ignorant and selfish, and imma do it if it benefits me.
-
If you don’t want to run ruin for whatever silly reason, give thrilling tremors a go
-
I’m a killer main, so I don’t mama or papa bear obviously, but I’ll thrown people who are obviously inexperienced on the hatch or bring them to a gate otherwise I’d feel kind of scummy
-
Surge could be pretty good if they would just make it every generator regresses and tak on a 3/4/5% regression for every one not regressed.
-
They are weak, surge would be decent if every map was the size of lerys or the game. The other two are just plain terrible. He is definitely not a killer meant to use his own perks, they’re just flavory

Yamaoka is a maze since everything looks the same besides its only "small" with mobile killers. Someone like doctor or myers has to trudge along forever to check on gens.
Start using whispers and TT, I promise you will fall in love with ormund.

My first thought is that his foot steps are causing issues. Another possible cause is its portals. More specifically, its Of The Abyss power when multiple portals have been placed.
I guess that’s possible, but it always seems to perform the worst in a chase, even if you havnt placed portals yet
-
If I see ormund, Haddonfield, or swamp playing as killer I’m aggravated. Im honestly surprised that more killers don’t like Yamaoka. It’s one of my favorites because it’s so small and open. Sooooo many unsafe pallets
-
All I’m saying is if OW can look as nice as it does and play seamlessly with 3 times as many people all performing more impressive actions and effects with no lag or frame rate issues dbd has no excuse
-
I’ve noticed the same thing. I think it has something to do with all the noises he constantly makes for no reason that makes you lose injured survivors or something to do with gown his body model interacts with the map. I typed a long rant a few days ago about how he is basically unplayable but it HAS improved a little bit since day of release, but very little. Glad I’m not the only one that noticed. And for me it’s JUST him, nurse is fine as far as I can tell.

Hello, I'm fairly new -- only been playing regularly for about a month and a half -- and I main killer. I'm bad at survivor, it's a thing, let's not get into it. Point is, I'd like to ask some opinions from regulars here, survivor and killer, about a new playstyle I've stumbled onto.
My preference is for stealth killers and of them Myers is my favorite. I've unlocked BBQ, M&A, and just recently, Hex: Ruin. I've had the first two for a while but I've only played a few games with Ruin so far (got it from the shrine)and it's been interesting.
That little totem can be very powerful... if it lasts for more than a minute. The first thing I noticed, aside from all the beautiful gen failures, is that survivors hunt that little guy down aggressively. I reasoned that, in order to make that perk worth the slot, I might need to keep an eye on it. Defend it a little.
Sooo... that kind of evolved into me using the totem as bait. Survivors ignore me until I'm right on top of them in EW1, and I'm still pretty stealthy in EW2 with M&A. Players get so focused on cleansing the totem that it's really easy for me to catch them off guard if I'm lurking in the area.
Last match, I downed a guy three different times on the same totem because he was so fixated. He had an impressive loadout too, this was someone who's put in some hours, which makes me wonder if there's a reason why he seemed so shocked that I kept ambushing him there. I did get some hate messages.
My feelings aren't hurt, I had a good laugh at the salt, but I don't want to be the kind of killer that's utterly un-fun to play against. If that totem were a hooked survivor, I would definitely be accused of proxy camping it and there would probably be some merit to the accusation. I still try to patrol generators and apply map pressure, but I find myself returning to the totem frequently and getting easy kills for it.
Is this a bad habit? Is it a crutch? Is it toxic?
It’s as toxic as patrolling gens you toxic a-hole.
seriously though, NO. Your gens and your totems belong to YOU so you can’t camp them. It doesn’t stop them from progressing the game, it’s just making it more difficult for them- which is your job as killer.
-
It’s more fun to hook the toxic people and just tell them gg. They usually spit back with something stupid like ‘you wouldn’t have won without pgtw, ruin, and your add ons’
ummmmm duh? That’s over half the build. Gl in the next one
my most enjoyable moments in this game are putting people on tilt and getting all of their salt
-
I question your experience and I also don’t believe you’ve ever been in red ranks...
-
Not a lot of ghostface love or fear around these parts... not gonna bother linking but someone above put him below trapper, clown, wraith, pig, and LF. WHAT the actual f? You know he one shots, crouches, and stealths, right?
-
i imagine you’re in brown ranks, maybe green. That can work like once per match above that though, but usually just the once
-
Barlow and Callahan are Salem’s lot btw
-
I have my fingers crossed for Barlow and Father Callahan(maybe? Been a while since I’ve read it). Dbd could use a vampire killer.
-
To be able to play as stranger things people in addition to most* of the horror icons should retain a percentage of them, wether that percentage is 10 or 50 depends somewhat on the devs and significantly on the way the established community treats them. Not saying don’t cave their heads in but message them after with a gg and a quick tip about something you saw them doing horribly wrong ;)
-
more than anything I would like to have outdoor security camera thrown away and give him a tremendous nightshroud recovery rate addon instead
