Wish I could give you mine
Thank you ❤️ I just want mine tho. That why I'm working so hard for this cause bc I deserve the BP just as much as anyone else and they only reason I'm not going to get them is bc of something completely out of my control. I'm not the only one either. Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina all was affected by this storm.
-
Boosting this because I think it's a important BHVR knows. I beg y'all please think about us who are affected by such a terrible storm and extend the timeframe. I know it's just 1mil BP to some but to me and others we don't want to miss out on this just bc of something outside our control.
I even have reached out to Chey and Otz to help rise this concern. Tho no response from Otz I did get help from the amazing Chey. Thank you Chey so much.

I'm sorry but that won't be possible I'm afraid :(
I'm not sure if this is respond to my question or not. If it is that really sad... So many players like myself have no way to log in doing that timeframe. I thought BHVR could at least look out for their players who was in such a devastating storm. Even ff14 is helping us out by turning off the auto demolition on housing. I understand that I guess if y'all can't but I am greatly disappointed 😞 😞

The compensation should be for everyone that started playing before the update, no reason to limit it for just 1 month…
Very true! Honestly I thought it was strange they put a time limit on it 😕

Hi Mandy! I made a post about this but I wanted to ask you here as well. Could y'all consider extending the timeframe for getting the bloodpoints compensation into November? I was in the path of hurricane Helene in the southeast of USA and I won't have power till the end of the month. I'm guessing there is alot of us like this as well.

A few suggestions;
- Go farm points
- Go afk and make a snack.
- Go do another activity until it’s over
- Suck it up and play it through, learn from the mistakes made and keep trying.
Personally I do 2 most the time. I know last night I had a bubba match where I lost 3 gens all at once with only one hook. Honestly I was so unmotivated I didn't want to finish the match so I just went to bathroom and got a snack. Honestly last night was a bad night and just decided to log off after the third game of the night.

Well to be honest the devs have started more drama with allowing the haddie submission to win despite being excluded from the votes.
Very true honestly Im seeing that now…god this community will never be happy I think XD
-
Happy they found them. Hopefully, all the drama around this contest can settle down now bc I honestly got tired of seeing it. weekend.
-
Don't be surprised they push that back into 2026... BHVR had a track record of pushing reworks back and having them take two or more years to do. Reason why I think gutting her is such a terrible game design. Leaving a character nearly useless for a year+ is a sign of terrible game design, poor priority, and bad resource management.
-
I wondering when ppl will start asking other killers they dislike be gutted like SM. Before long every slightly annoying killer will be taken out back and kneecapped. Good job devs, you allowed this to happen.
-
RIP SM...the devs did you dirty. Here hoping you come back next year but I'm not going to hold my breath. See you in 2 years.

Exactly. Ik Im a broken record but every time I've argued in favor of her I get people telling me that "SHE NEEDS TO GO! NO KILLER SHOULD BE ABLE TO 3 GEN AND HOLD THE MATCH HOSTAGE!" And its so annoying because it shows they have literally no idea what they're even talking about
I honestly believe ppl's hate for SM is so blinding that they even forget she can't 3 gen anymore. I think ppl just hate the name now more than anything. Part of me believes that even if the devs some how completely rework her power into something different ppl would still hate her just because of her past, lore, fact she wasn't a cyborg, not predator, or to sexy for DBD....

I honestly cannot understand why people jump to this conclusion.
It's not as though it's just hate for the sake of hate, and it's not like people aren't aware of the changes made because of the chess merchant playstyle. Skull Merchant's power just isn't fun to engage with, she has really strong anti-loop, and her kit is just bloated making it hard to explain how to counter her.
If you had to explain a whole bunch of different mechanics, and how to counter them for just one killer to someone who's still relatively fresh to dbd, they'd probably question how they're supposed to keep track of all that.
Skull Merchant is flawed by design, and thus far bhvr has not managed to get it right. You'll always have a minority who rage quit and immediately forfeit, but you can get that with any killer they don't like. Hopefully the rework changes her for the better, since it's important that survivors find her fun to play against just as killers find her fun to play as.
Yes I agree she flawed I'm not arguing that but what you and many other don't get is that these heavy nerfs isn't going to make her any better to go against. She still going to be boring to face and I still think ppl will DC based on that along.
Once again all these nerfs are aim to do it to make the killer garbage so no one wants to play her. Honestly I'm would be fine with that if the rework took a max of 6 months to complete but that's not going to happen. The devs will take 2 or more years to rework her just like they did with twins, and Freddy. I'm complaining bc I think the devs are in the wrong here and should find better solutions to fix there games and not take the easy way out. But hey if you want to continue to drink the devs kool aid, by all means keep drinking. I for one will not and demand them to do better, and be better. Get thier damn priorities straight and actually do things in a reasonable time frame.
Also I do believe ppl hate SM just because she SM. Ppl hated her before her PTB came out for many dumb reasons. Sex bait, failed predator, she wasn't a cyborg, and the list keeps going.

The consequences of leaving Skull Merchant in her current state for over a year would be far more detrimental for the game, which BHVR is clearly aware of given the upcoming changes. She's a scourge on DbD idrc.
The thing is most of us arent saying not nerf her, just don't completely destroy her. The current nerf plan will do that. The better short term plan would be actually try to balance her, increase her skill floor, remove some of the status effects, and promote more healthy play styles that require skill. Also we not talking about a year here...we all know at minimum it'll take BHVR 2 years or even more to rework her. Look how long twins rework took or even better look at Freddy. Like her or not she doesn't deserve to be completely gutted and left in the trashcan for 2+ years.
-
Like I understand what ppl saying, its a live service game blah blah blah. We may not be able to ask for a refund but we sure can complain and ######### over and over about how long these devs will take to rework SM or any killer. To me, Im fine with them nerfing SM or any problem killer till a rework happens but don't make us wait TWO DAMN YEARS for it…Im not demanding a refund but I sure am demanding the devs to do a better job and stop making their players wait years for promise reworks. I don't care how limited their "bandwidth" is or ever that means…stop making ######### killers whose powers are just copies of the other killers you have and actually work on making what you already have better. That is where I stand right now.

Because people will always hate her because its a meme to hate her. It has nothing to do with her power and everything to do with 'SKULL MERCHANT BAD!' she could have no power and only M1 and people would still say shes OP and needs to be removed
I'm really confident in saying that even if every single nerf they have planned makes it to Live ppl will continue to "give up" against her. The hate ppl have for SM runs so deep that even when she is the worst killer in the game they still give up against her just so they don't have to play the game against her.

Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't mean it's not a balance change. Any time there is a nerf or a buff, it is a balance change. The underlying goal is not to kill SM, it is to make her less frustrating to play against.
Being hyperbolic doesn't make that any less true. They have their priorities straight. Reworks take time. Not everything happens overnight.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3800423#Comment_3800423
It doesn't take a genius to realize that there isn't some large conspiracy going on behind the scenes where bhvr has decided that the few SM enjoyers just deserve to suffer. Your theory is completely unfounded.
SM is already a killer who sees very little play to begin with. If the intent was to kill off SM, they would just nerf her and cancel the rework. The intent is to make her less frustrating to play against until her rework.
- You have the right to be upset about this.
- It's reasonable, even, that you would be upset about this.
- It was not done to "kill the character off"
- This was done to make the character less frustrating to play against until her rework.
- This is a live-service game, and bhvr can change anything they want at any given time. This does not entitle you to compensation.
This is a very clear-cut case of the Few vs The Many. The Many find SM unfun to play against. Weighing the enjoyment of The Few vs the enjoyment of The Many is almost always going to end up favoring The Many, rather than The Few.
Agree to disagree

I think Spirit's nerfs were worse. She was a jump scare killer that was so silent that she could grab people off of generators… and BHVR gave her directional phasing audio, and later buffed this audio so it's no longer affected by audio occlusion. She was also heavily affected by the map reworks, because the increased line of sight breakers (combined with audio occlusion), made it much more difficult to hear survivors while phasing.
The problem is this game has fake tier lists, based on less than 0.0001% of the players, where Spirit is ranked really high, so people pretended the nerfs weren't impactful. But remember there used to be floods of complaints about Spirit on these forums every week, where she was constantly being complained about… and those complaints are mostly gone now. Obviously, the nerfs are much bigger than people are admitting.
The same applies to Nurse and Blight, which also caused constant complaints on these forums…. but notice those have mostly gone too.
BHVR absolutely has done the "let's nerf a killer over and over until most of the complaints stop" thing before.
Meh, I have to disagree, I think SM nerfs are the worst in dbd history. Spirit is still pretty damn strong even after the nerfs she has gotten. I never struggle with her even after all her nerfs and map reworks. Unlike SM, Spirit was up there with blight and Nurse before she got her nerfs and the nerfs only knocked her down one level while SM even tho her killrate is the highest isnt no anywhere near the strength of nurse and Blight and these Nerfs will knock her down all the way to the bottom.
Also, I know BHVR has done this before with other things in the game, that just more of a reason to call them out on their BS and get them to change their practices

Where's the quote on that?
Pretty sure the only thing that was confirmed was that the changes are intentional, and are intended to make SM less frustrating to play against until her rework.
Not everything is some grand conspiracy.
Plz... anyone with eyes can see the true purpose for these heavy handed nerfs. Of course the devs aren't going to openly admit they are killing off a killer so thier play rate can take a nose drive. Alot of ppl has said that this is the first time they seen a killer get this heavy nerfed and the nerfs will make the killer the worst killer in the game. Doesn't take a genius to figure out the true purpose behind nerfing SM this much.
For reference: Otz comment about the SM nerfs
"Skull Merchant gets huge nerf, possibly one of the biggest nerfs I remember in DBD history; no longer gets haste, her slowdown is reduced significantly (especially considering she resets bloodlust when placing drones) and the drones now only have one scan line instead of the previous two. Instead of reworking her to be more straight-forward and beginner friendly so she's not a pub stomper, the devs have seemingly gone the route of just making her absolutely terrible. Really strange decision."
Many others both CCs and normal players have said similar things.

It's a live-service pvp game. If they just never made balance changes, nobody would be having fun.
This isnt a balance change and saying over and over isn't going to make it one. Yes I know it's a live service game but that shouldn't be used as a excuse. Just because it's live service game doesn't give the devs the right to completely gut a character and let that character sit in the trash for two years before they decide they now have time to fix them. As I said these nerfs have nothing to do with balance, the underline goal is to kill SM for its players so they don't want to play her anymore.
I'm for one will not allow the devs to sit behind the "live service game" shield. These devs should be called out for their bad practices and terrible decision making. They need to get their priorities straight, stop worrying about releasing new killers who powers are just copies of other killers powers(Lich and Dark Lord), and actually focus on the already promised reworks and health of the game for both sides.

Same with me and Plague. People give up against all three of those killers; they're some of the least popular to verse powers. The point I'm trying to make is that… hm. Let's say there's a baseline for quit rates, a certain percent of survivors who will bail against any killer they don't like, and certain killers that people don't like more than others, so they get more ragequits than others.
Skull Merchant exceeded that norm. She got people who did not normally quit games to immediately hit next, and that's not because her power was a normal kind of unfun to experience in DBD, it was PTSD over matches that took forever to end. Her original mass quit rates were something DBD had rarely seen before (and always signified something unplayably bad, like OG Legion), and while it got better after they reworked her, it never normalized to regular "I don't like this" levels. People still hated her and refused to even try to play against her. Hence her kill rate eclipsing that of the other disliked killers… and every other killer in the game.
If I play Plague, someone might DC at start or give up on first hook every 5 games. With Skull Merchant, it's a coin flip for me to have a game where all three of my teammates try to play the match. Worse odds, even. Maybe 60% someone quits within the first minute. Is this anecdotal evidence, yes, but her grossly inflated kill rates support it. Her reputation is through the floor and I don't know if it can be repaired without starting over.
I agree that SM exceeds the norm give up rate and I also agree it's largely due to her rep. That said I still think it's wrong to completely gut as a solution to the problem esp since we don't have an ETA on when the rework will happen. My whole issue with the SM nerfs isn't that she being nerfed but she being nerfed as a way to stop ppl playing her so the devs can take their sweet time reworking her. I mentioned couple of times that if the devs was transparent and came out to say "We know SM is a flawed killer and needs a complete overhaul. So we decided to nerf her heavy for now but we have a rework for her in two or three patches from now." Then I wouldn't complain and angry.
But that's what is happening here, no where in the dev blog was mentioned they was going to rework, we as a community had to find out by one random dev comment on a reddit thread and Mandy saying something on Oh Tofu stream. On no official channel was it said they had plans to rework her. On top of that the only timeframe we got for this rework is that it be done later next year. Knowing BHVR that could mean up two years. Gutting a killer and keeping them useless for more than 6 months is wrong, and bad game development. SM, Freddy and Myers reworks all should be thier top priority not doing some small changes to a killer like plague or pinhead. Shoot I think those three killers reworks are more important than releasing a new killer or chapter.

Like I said, they are fixing 2/4 of her issues. Now she just needs sound cues in stealth, and Drones to require a manual reset.
If they kept her in as is, I'd want a total refund of all the money I've spent on the game, and this 'hostile balancing' is much less detrimental than the alternative.
I actually put in a support ticket for a Meg skin refund way way way back when they changed her character model, and they said (basically) since it was a live game, they can do WHATEVER they want, and we just have to deal with it, too bad so sad.
My honest advice is quit spending money/time before things get worse, because in my time with the game, it (net) largely has.
Live service games suck imo and are the ruination of the gaming industry. Now if days gamers don't own nothing, pretty much every thing we spend our money on can be taken from us in a second. Developers can get away with anything with no consequences bc their game is "live service" I miss the days of the PS2 and 360 man…

While I don't think nerfing the killer into the ground was the right way to handle this… I do think the Skull Merchant presents an interesting problem that I can understand them not knowing how to tackle. Her stats indicated she was wildly overperforming, but everyone knew those stats weren't accurate because so many people were giving up against her. But I'd argue the stats are also inflated because between her changes and her second tl;dr power, many players didn't actually know what her power did, and would use the wrong counterplay (a big one being people thinking drones would detect you if you were sitting on a gen. It was very rare for me to play against SM without at least one teammate being afraid of gen drones, when loop drones were the actual threat.)
And she wasn't fun to play against, she was the most brainless type of antiloop killer with irritating stealth, but the droves of people hook suiciding on sight was a holdover from her Chess Merchant days. You don't see this kind of immediate and widespread refusal against other unpopular killers, like Pinhead or Plague or Legion, even though they are arguably more annoying to verse than current (pre-nerf) Skull Merchant. The extreme hate was a reaction to something that didn't really exist anymore… and I'm fairly sure that hate will continue as long as her identity persists.
I think reinventing her is the only way to go at this point, with entirely new mechanics that work in an entirely different way, maybe even a different visual for the power, so that nobody can mistake her for how she was before… and ideally it has to be with a power that's simpler than her second incarnation (because it was so complex and riddled with conditions that most people didn't understand it beyond Drones Bad.)
I don't know...as a legion main I see a decent number of survivors DCing or giving up against me.

Her power is bloated, a tiny crack is not the problem though. A responsible dev can't sit and allow a majority of their playerbase to play against a problem. They already made a terrible disservice allowing her to be a problem for soooooo long.
Did I say tiny crack? In my analogy I ref her to a decent size crack…also the dev had a WHOLE year to balance her but instead of doing that they have chosen to take a sledgehammer to her and just tell us to rwait for them to fix them. Didnt give us a timeline or anything so it could easily be like twins or Freddy where ppl have to wait 2+ years for a rework. My issue here is we need to call out the devs for their lack of foresight and planning. Don't just accept whatever they give us…

You are welcome to look up what Double Standards means. You are complaining that Skull Merchant is finally nerfed, yet justifying the obliteration of Distortion as fine and dandy. In reality, nerfing distortion is incredibly more impactful as now a huge percentage of killer perks and add-ons have zero counterplay.
I think most of us are not complaining that SM is getting nerfed, we complaining that she is being nerfed to heavily with the so-called promise she will fix it in the unknown future. It's like you have a decent size crack in the wall but instead of fixing that crack by filling it in the devs are just use a sledgehammer on the wall and then after pulling a hole in the wall they drop the hammer and turn around to tell us "There the crack is gone, and don't worry we will fix the wall eventually, it just may be two years before we do it".

The changes made to her were undeniably harsh, and it seems the devs deliberately went overboard to discourage people from playing her. That being said, I don’t agree with those who believe she didn’t need changes at all. When a large majority of players agree on something, it doesn’t make sense to ignore them in favor of a small minority. Ultimately, both sides want the same thing—to have fun. Those who loved the character were already having fun and didn’t care that others weren’t. Those who hated her couldn’t enjoy the game and didn’t care that some players liked her. But those who disliked her far outnumbered those who didn’t, and I don’t understand how anyone could argue that this majority opinion should be ignored.
At the end of the day it’s a live service game and everyone should understand that everything is subject to change. You don’t buy the game and own it, you buy it to play what someone else owns and they’re completely within their right to make changes on any part of the game.
God I hate the live service excuse...I firmly believe that live service games have ruined games and the gaming industry. Gamers are so willing to take whatever ######### the devs give them nowadays. I may sound old but I ######### miss the 360 and PS2 days
-
I agree with you 100%. I'm in the 2nd camp of ppl who don't like how they handing SM in this patch. These nerfs do nothing to make her more enjoyable to play against(ppl will still go next against her I believe even if these nerfs go live). These nerfs only will make her feel really bad to play, meaning very little ppl will play her. In my opinion, this isn't balancing, it's artificially lowering the pick rate of a problematic killer so no one will play them and in turn, survivors will stop complaining since they will rarely even see an SM. This is a really bad solution esp if the rework takes a long time to come out.
I think the devs should come out and give us a statement about the prioritization of balance changes. As you said why is Plague who is by large fine getting changes when Freddy and Myres are left in the void? I know Mandy said on Tofu stream that the changes for SM are planned for next year but that is so vague and honestly too long to keep a killer super weak. If the rework was planned within next few patches (1-3 patches) then I would ok with the nerfs SM is getting but when it comes to killer reworks the devs have had a track record of taking years to do them, look at Twins, and Freddy. Personally, I think it's time to call the devs out on these bad practices. We need more timely and healthy changes to the game and fewer killers like Dark Lord whose power is largely is weaker versions of other killer's powers.
-
In the past, I would say no since I don't like the idea of removing content from the game even SM but after seeing the dev blog I have changed my mind. I rather see her removed as they rework her than have them nuke her down to F-Tier. She will be the first F-tier killer imo. I rather have nothing than what they are offering is all Im saying.
Also if anyone thinks her rework isn't going to take 2 years then you are crazy as hell. This dev team has a history of dragging its feet esp on reworks. Look at the so-called promise Twins rework…it was talked about 2 years ago and when it finally came out they had to completely revert it and just settle on some small QoL changes. The same thing will happen to SM…she be left in a terrible state for 2 years and when the rework does happen I bet it be even worse than she is now and be reverted just like twins.
-

People aren't going to kill themselves over a killer's reputation. They are going to kill themselves when they try to play against her and it sucks. Now it won't suck nearly as much.
This is a misunderstanding of what Bloodlust is even for. The whole point is to give killers a chance to catch up to survivors at strong loops and structures. It was a band-aid over poor map design that was essential at times in the earlier years of the game when maps were a mess. Nowadays, loops you really need Bloodlust for are fewer and farther between, and since she can deny them by throwing down a drone, she doesn't need Bloodlust in the first place. Your basic killer would have to chase around that strong structure and at the end they'd probably still need to kick a pallet, which resets their Bloodlust. SM can skip the chase part and just drop a drone to deny the loop, and besides, she can get right back to gaining bloodlust after deploying a drone.
This game has a lot of problems but it is in SUCH a good state compared to where it used to be. The devs get way more right than wrong with regards to balance and the game has steadily improved because of it. So, on the contrary, stop complaining about the devs and consider that maybe they know a little more about their game than the average commenter on their forum. The thing they have been worst at lately, imo, is killer design, but at least they're willing to acknowledge when they messed up and rework as necessary.
Lol the devs don't even play their game(look at Freddy, soloq and Trickster). Im going next on this discussion. Have a blissful day.

As I've said a handful of times in this and other threads, if so many people are killing themselves rather than face this killer to the point that her kill rate is 70% compared to an average of 58.5% even when disconnects aren't considered, that's an obvious sign that her power is ill conceived and needs a rework. That would be an incredible amount of dislike.
The nerf is in part meant to reduce the rate, yes. The power does still suck and needs a rework. But until then, they can at least tone down how annoying she is by making her weaker.
I meant hindered, not haste. You do not need bloodlust if you can prevent survivors from chasing at strong loops, which she can still do effortlessly even with her nerfed drones.
As I said she still going to be disliked bc that her rep now and ppl will still continue to kill themselves against her. Her kit still boring to go against. I also said that I rather them remove her from the game fully till her rework is done than have a useless ass killer. Stop defending the devs. They make bad desions and should be called out for them.
As for the hinder and BL topic I let Pixal someone who know SM alot better than I explained to you way these nerfs are bad.

Her kill rate was 11.5% above average as of February. These changes are not going to swing those by like 15%, which is what she'd need to be terrible. She still gets free haste and her drones can still force survivors to leave loops or take hits. She still has decent tracking, either from the drones themselves or from seeing where drones get disabled. She can still three gen pretty effectively. She will be plenty playable.
Yes, kill rates aren't the end all be all, but she was an outlier in how well she was performing before. She needed big nerfs to rejoin the pack.
One, her killer rate is so high bc ppl kill themselves on hook when they see her. Honest that will still continue to happen bc the nerf arent making her any more fun to go against. All the nerfs really will do is lower her pick rate bc she feel so bad to play that even her main wont even want to play her. Two, they completely removed the haste. Three the hinder is still there but to get any use out of it you wont be able to use you drones or pull up you tracker since that disable BL. She going to have to depend on BL even more now meaning you cant ever use your power in chase. Honestly, they might as well killswitch her or delete her from the game.

I don't think that's to baby his viewers. I think that's his honest opinion of where the killers fall. There are few D tier killers because there are few that are that terrible. The majority of killers are pretty close to average, which leads to large B+, B-, and C tiers.

I hate that i agree with this. Just give everyone all who own her a full refund in the meantime and deactivate her if we give her a complete overhaul like Revenant got in Apex, especially considering it will probably take years.
Don't believe BHVR when they say 2025, i consider them unreliable and dishonest and i need to only point towards Freddy, Trickster and Twins to prove it.
Trust me I hate I had to say it. For a while I be against removing her or any character from the game but after seeing what they have planned for her… I think its better to have nothing than something that is going to useless.

Her kill rates say otherwise. Hook suicides alone likely aren't the reason, but if they are, that is good justification to nerf her pending a rework. Either way it's fine.
Otz had her in B+ tier in his most recent tier list too.
I be honest…otz tier lists are bad anyway imo. The man only has his tier lists go from C to S bc he is afraid to piss off the mains of some killers if their fav killer isn't in the rank they want it to be. So he puts - and + for each letter tier to make ppl feel better. It is like if a child gets a D on the test but instead, the teacher just says they got a C- to make the child not feel bad for doing badly on a test.

Ok, so might I offer a suggestion?
Just remove her from the game completely (and compensate people who bought her and her skins) and re-release her when you have the new power figured out. That would also be a good chance to fix up her lore and cosmetics.
Honestly, I used to be against that idea but I rather have that then have her being the games first f-tier killer for what mostly likely be 2 years. Just refund everyone who owns her and her skins and remove her from the game till her rework is finished.
-
Aka the devs making her F-tier for most likely 2 years. I will never agree with this way of handling a character. They should not make a character that ppl paid money for useless just to make ppl stop playing her as they rework her. How about this…if she is that big of an issue make her rework top on the list to do and don't develop a new killer till the rework is done. Im sorry but DBD devs are the slowest devs to me. They take years to rework killers. This seems like the twins all over again.

Mettle of Man, Pig, Dead Hard, MFT, Freddy, self-care, Sadako a couple of times, Decisive Strike, Billy for years, Iron Will…
I could go on. Survivors also paid money for the game. It's a live service game. Things get changed. Some things get obliterated. It's not new and we're in year 9 of the game.
All of those just got nerfed slightly but never became useless. This SM Nerf isn't just a slight nerf, it's making a killer F-tier just bc of cry babies. Guess what ppl will still kill themselves against her, this Nerf doesnt do anything to change that. All it doing is lowering her pick rate it. I get its a live service game but that is not an excuse to make a character ppl paid money for completely useless. How would you feel if it was a character you loved? What if they made one of your fav characters who spent bunch of money on a F-tier character? For once leave your bias behind and put yourself in other shoes. Im not even a SM fan but I think this is a really ######### thing to do and devs should be called out on it.

That's great, so just because you find a playstyle boring, that means the people who enjoy them just don't matter? That's just life. Companies adapt to the desires of the largest numbers of their customers. I'm sure we've all had an experience were a restaurant or something similar dropped an item we really liked because no one else was buying it.
Some people like Skull Merchant. Lots of people hate her. BHVR has to deal with the reality of how their customers behave, not how they might want them to behave in an ideal world.
That is one of the worst analogies I have ever heard XD What happening to SM is more like if you order an item off the menu and then the restaurant decides halfway through your meal to remove the item from the menu and then comes to your table and taking your meal away even tho you already paid for it. Saying "Sorry everyone hates the item so you can't have it anymore…" Ppl paid for SM and making her completely useless even for a short term is bad game design and bad business.

I care about it and others like me does. as stated previously it's not about a badge it's what it means for the people getting in a lobby with 2k hours getting matched with 20-50hrs players. many other games have prestiges and it would never do what this game does to their system of prestiges to band-aid a mmr that isn't working efficiently as of now.
So the truth is coming out. It actually has nothing to do about showing off the love for your character but to lobby shop. You don't want to be paired with lower hour survivors than yourself and you want to use someone prestige to skip lobbies. So you basically admitting what Mandy told you that showing one prestige at the beginning of a match leads to lobby dodging on both sides. Btw the reason mmr gets messed up alot of times is because you dodging lobbies. When you dodge a lobby (survivor or killer) you keeping that lobby open longer meaning the the mmr system in turn is widening the search, putting lower mmr players in lobbies they have no reason being in. Ppl who dodge lobbies are apart of the mmr problem DBD has.

I am pretty sure you can read again to understand my point of view that i made absolutely clear multiple times. And once again i am going to repeat it wont be on both side if all killers dont see no prestige aside from egc. What's so hard to understand about this? Doing so reduce their "lobby shopping" on the killer side of things which is 50% of the issue(since we dont have any data aside from a dev claim not backed by anything but their words)the lobby shopping will continue as there's more to it than just seeing low prestiges and dodging. They ran a/b tests but where are the a/b/c test? A/b test i'm assuming(correct me if I am wrong) is either all or none but no inbetween has been tested.
What I mean is I just don't understand your mindset of having to show off a arbitrary number that 90% of the community cares nothing about. Even if you just want to show off to your friends you can do this without the option you want. You can take a picture and share it with your friends, you can stream on discord or on twitch and ect. The only reason I can think of why you care so much about about your prestige level is to show off the strangers which those strangers won't care about a number that means nothing. Even then you can still achieve your goal of showing your level in the endgame screen since it still there for killer and survivors who wants to see it. At the end of the day I still think devs will never back down from this choice and I think they shouldn't bc prestige levels have only caused more lobby dodging. We just have to agree to disagree.

I don't care about other random people as much, it's about me and my friends mostly that it sucks for. if you make it that killer DO NOT see prestiges AT ALL(NOT AN OPTION JIST HOW IT IS NOW JUST FOR KILLERS) and I also do not care what other people think of it. I WANT TO SHOW IT and I should be able to. Why is it so hard to let people enjoy the things they like and not tone everything down for EVERYONE? GIVE THE PEOPLE THE CHOICE. You don't care? Fine be it for you then. But for people that does care? Let them ENJOY it. It sucks you like certain things and I like certain things. But everything is one sided and the other side cannot enjoy it anymore. Freedom.
I don't understand your mindset I'm sorry. So you want to show off your level to your friends is what you saying but you don't need to do that in a lobby... you can be in discord with them and say "looks guys I p100 my favorite survivor."
Like I do understand you want it to be a opinion but you been told and was given a very good reason by someone who works on the game and honestly knows more about the data in background than you, why they can't just make it a opinion. It will lead to even more lobby shopping on both sides. No matter how much you pled the devs I'm pretty sure they are concrete on this decision to hide your prestige level at the beginning of a match. Once tho you can show off your prestige level in the end game still. That wasn't taken from you and achieve the same goal.
-
Personally I love the fact I can't see survivors prestige levels as killer. No longer will I get into a lobby with p100s and admittedly get nervous about how hard the upcoming match will be. I know prestige doesn't equal skill but it's a mind thing where I psych myself out. I also agree with Mandy that making it a opinion will only make lobby shopping on both sides wrost.
On a personal level I just don't understand why you and others even care about showing off. Trust me most ppl really don't care that you p100 your favorite character. I never once looked at a p100 survivor and fan girl over them for loving that one character. I honestly don't really care. If you want to p100 someone you should do it bc you want to not bc you want to show off to others. To me it seems pretty egotistical to think most people actually cares you decided to dump millions and millions of BP into one single character. Also ppl can still see your level in the endgame screen so what the big difference? You still showing off your level it just at the end of a match instead at the beginning which how it should be in my opinion.

Skill issue.
You dont understand how apply his powers in chases efficiently and lose because of that.
Get good at using the powers, learn when it's the appropriate time to use each form, how to shutdown tiles with both abilities, how to navigate with bat and you'll have marginally better results.
Tho I agree with you that ppl need to learn a new killer but here my is issue. Playing a new killer always feels bad because how mmr is set on new killers. We been told new killers starting mmr is set based on your mmr on other killers. This means you have to learn a new power against much better survivors. To me I feel like I'm always starting with a handicap bc I'm good on killers I put a lot more time in. Personally I don't like having to lose every single match for first few days of a new killer release just to improve. It doesn't feel good and makes me not want to play anymore. I think every new killers starting mmr should start as low as possible so you can start learning at a slower pace instead of being thrown into the deep end of the pool and expect to swim
-
After playing him I can honestly say I found the wolf form completely useless. In fact I had better success just completely ignoring his wolf form and using vampire to dam and bat to teleport. The biggest issue I have with the wolf form is that make you do the 2nd pounce with no way to cancel it. I think it should be more like Wesker dash or nurse's blink where you have to physically do a 2nd input to do the pounce within a time frame otherwise it cancels itself.

Glad to see positive feedback when the devs deserve it! 😊
Im more than willing give credit when credit is due. Dev actually did a good thing this time around and will praise them on that. This change shows me they do care about console players and willing to find composition to make both pc and console players happy.

I can share now that the dev update is out, there's some good news in there for you! The auto aim will be making a return in one of the following minor updates as an optional mechanic. Tapping the button will take control of the pod as usual while holding the button will take control of the pod and aim at the nearest Survivor in view.
We ultimately decided not to force it upon folks who prefered to pre-emptively aim their pods at hotspots, but many other people appreciated the feature, so this'll be the best of both worlds.
More info can be found here:
Im thankful yall found a way to give everyone what they wanted. This was a very good change imo. Great Job! Yall honestly surprised me

"A killer for everyone, not every killer for everyone"
I actually like this sentiment, and agree. I'd love to put hours into Nurse but she gives me motion sickness, so that's a no go. But there's plenty of other killers I can play if I want (at the moment I just stick to Demo or Wraith). I think content creators, who play every killer because it's literally how they make their living, make a alot of players feel like they too need to play every killer. But I remember one of the devs (think it was Peanits) saying that they don't expect players to play every killer. They expect people to find the ones they're comfortable with and to fall back on those. Probably why they listened to player feedback on the camera auto aim.
I learned to play Demo on the Nintendo Switch, which was hard but i stuck with it. Was so much easier once I got a PS5. And End Transmission has been my favourite original chapter to date, I absolutely love Singularity, but he's too difficult for me on PS5 and I'm okay with that. I'm sure I could put in the hours and become adequate but I cbf lmao
The singu thing is different tho. I agree not everyone is going to enjoy every killer and it's not the devs job to make killers be liked by everyone. The issue here tho comes down to how a killer feels with the controls you are given. Say a PS5 player really loves Singu and wants to learn them and play them but thanks to the poor controls on the controller for this killer that player is forced to play them with inferior unfun controls or just give up on the killer they want to play. Its not fair to this player to be put in that situation. It has nothing to do with health issues like you with nurse or if someone enjoys the killer or not. Take me for exp I HATE Hillbilly but I don't want him changed or reworked in a way where I enjoy him. If the only reason I cant enjoy a killer comes to poor controls on the input device Im forced to play on then Im going to be upset. Honestly, all devs could do is just add K&M support to console versions of the game and this discussion would be done with but dev has said they don't want to do that so we need them to think and offer other ways to make console players' lives better. We shouldn't gatekeep a killer just because PC players don't want their "skill expression" lowered. There have been a lot of good suggestions put out there like adding the aim asst to an addon or making something just for console players that doesn't affect PC players. Toystory3monky as far as I have seen wants the killer to say just the way he is just bc he doesn't want his fun to affect and would rather tell others "To bad go play something else"
No one is saying singu needs to be completely changed so everyone will like him, we just saying that console players need something to help them enjoy the killer more on the input they are forced to use.

The phrase "skill expression" makes me irrationally annoyed.
Honestly same. Im kinda tired of seeing this phase esp when the devs themselves use it as an excuse to remove something that could have helped ppl who are forced to play with a controller. I feel the ppl who use this phase are no-lifers who only eat and breathe dbd and treat it as some hyper esports game. I also feel ppl who use this phase are also ppl who says "git good" all the time. I have seen a lot of ppl also use this phase as a way to try to gatekeep something again like singu. Either way I agree, seeing this phrase triggers annoyance in me.
