I see it at least once in every killer play session, on average. More common with altruistic SWFs. And it's obvious, especially if they have a door or gap they can fill. They'll force you to hit them to get at the unhooker and then run off (or try to run off) like nothing happened.
Ah. It’s something the ever-present 4-man SWF does. I can’t imagine you’re seeing solo queue survivors tank hits—with or without endurance—very often. I certainly don’t.

Which is perfectly fine as an anti-tunnel mechanism.
The correct play for the survivor then is to run away from the killer. But many prefer to "make use" of their endurance by forcing the killer to hit them. This defeats the purpose of the endurance as an anti-tunnel mechanic, which then defeats any right to not be tunnelled.
Perhaps it’s my MMR but the only time I see survivors get hit off hook with endurance is when the killer is tunneling them (maybe they don’t know about endurance or just want to proc deep wound). I never see survivors use it as some sort of shield.

I was talking about the current meta.
Some killers will always tunnel, some will always camp.
Im just saying, that I personally would love to go for more chases and still have a chance at winning.
End game right now is unplayable. (If you don't play "insert strong killer")
Tunneling and camping have always been META. These strategies have never been anything but the quickest way to win. There’s nothing happening now that’s causing killers to tunnel or camp more. Killers never stopped doing those things.

This buff would have been nice but sadly it would turn Larry into another 3 gen killer.
My original buff idea was to make it so emp crates only spawn 2 emps total. Once the 2nd is grabbed from a box it turns red and will no longer generate emps.
So only 8 emps will spawn total. Sounded great but then I realized this would lead to a lot of 3 genning.
He would just do Skull Merchant’s job better. We can’t trust killer mains to not 3-gen with a Singularity like your example, unfortunately.

I can give a detailed review of the gameplay if you want. Long story short: use your power more. You have so many instances where you have an easy down with your saw or chance to force the pallet down and break it with your saw, but you're playing Bubba as an M1 killer with the saw as an afterthought. It seems like you don't have a feel for tile layout for zoning yet. That will come with experience.
There are maps where the safe tile count is too high and the spacing is too compact. But I don't think that's your main issue at this point.
I wondered why he wasn’t using add-ons or even his chainsaw (in chase). Like how are you playing Bubba and not doing that?
-
Doesn’t bother me. I just chase them out.

Survivors: want 110% movement spped + adrenaline in end game.
Killers: don't want to chase 110% movement speed survivor in endgame.
That's how I see it. Cant speak for your average comp blight though.
Killers have tunneled from day 1 of DBD. It didn’t just start because of MFT or Adrenaline or Hope or whatever. Even during the Erupt Overbrine META when games were taking 30+ minutes killers were tunneling. It’s always been the quickest path to a 4K.

Just as a reminder to everyone, this is what fresh scratchmarks looked like on the PTB. I can see scratchmarks on the wall, but look at the ground... The survivor ran from where I was in the picture, all the way around the wall to the right side of the screen..... but the scratchmarks are barely visible on the ground.
And by the way, I don't think this bug ever got acknowledged, and stayed "under review" the entire time, so maybe these are the new intended scratchmarks.
They’re off on that map but they look fine on other maps. Better, even, because they aren’t all over the walls and ceiling. To be fair the way they are now is pretty chaotic and especially on indoor maps it does make tracking survivors harder.
-
They’re less saturated for sure. I don’t think the scratch marks on the ceiling were unintentional; I think it was meant to help killers track them a little easier. But I also believe they disappeared much faster than what we see in PTB.

I wonder why people dont want to heal.
I agree with the nerf except Pharmacy, but I can already see this coming when Medkit nerf announcement. Adding another 8sec on healing doesnt mean your Gen extended by 8sec on top of it, but you lose 16sec of Gen.

Facts. With healing nerfed, it just encourages rushing gens even more than before.
I think killers believed that survivors would still try to heal through a sloppy butcher, nerfed medkit/self healing META. The hope seemed to be that healing would be nerfed but gen regression would still be strong, so basically it made the games easier for killers to 4K. But BHVR wants a specific kill rate which means that survivors have to have something in their favor going in to trials.

Its annoying to face as M1-Killer. When I play Oni for example, I dont care about MfT.
Also I dont care what a comp. players says. Comp. in this hardcore unbalanced asymmetrical game is a joke itself. Making their own rules and bans for addons / maps etc. is so funny.
The more interesting discussion would be
A) how to bring weaker killer and stronger killers closer together
B) How to bring SoloQ closer to SWF (for me DBD Mobile is showing a way with small orders like "Im in chase", "I go for the unhook" etc. available ingame.
I mean doesn’t the hud basically achieve this? It shows when survivors are in chase, performing cooperative actions, etc. it’s almost like information isn’t the edge SWF has over solo queue.

If teamwork perks didn't have the ridiculous cooldown effect they would be a perfectly balanced perk.
TWPO2 - Gives you a very strong effect of 5% haste , BUT you have to meet certain criteria for it to remain active. (Id argue increasing the radius to 16m would be okay too).
But sadly BHVR flips between making perks that provide unlimited free value and perks that have such ridiculous requirements and lengthy cooldowns they are equivalent to dead slots.
There's even less of a reason to run TWPO2 when you have MFT providing you 3% haste and doesn't have a CD or a requirement other than "get hit by the killer"
It’s never really advisable for survivors to group up. You’d need something much stronger than 5% haste to encourage survivors to run that other, say, an exhaustion perk.
-
They did shake up survivor items. This past year all medkits were severely nerfed and BNP was nerfed. Keys and maps are borderline useless (not quite, but close). They’re ok for completing tome challenges but otherwise what they do can be done with map awareness or perks.

same problem as boons. too little radius. if they had like 20-24 meter radius with linger radius of like 10-15 seconds. i can see blood pact and power of two being very problematic.
There are just better perks to use than the teamwork or boon perks. They’re outclassed by better alternatives.

If Boon's could be permanently removed without Shattered Hope (so if Shattered Hope was basekit) this would actually be a pretty cool perk.
In fact if Shattered Hope was basekit all boons could afford to be actually useful so yeah...
The best survivor perks (none of which comes close to this Safe Haven in terms of value) have steep costs & are still complained about. Quite a lot. I don’t see a scenario where boons are good enough to warrant being destructible.

When was the last time we saw a boon perk? March 2022 with Sadako. It’s been a year and a half and we haven’t gotten one new boon perk at all. it seems like BHVR has just flat out gave up and stopped making boon and teamwork perks
Well, you need to incentivize players to run boon and teamwork perks. Most survivors don’t use them because they don’t help with winning the game. And the devs probably stopped releasing them because they aren’t what players want (per pick rate).

Rapid Brutality cannot work with Bloodlust at the same time by ANY MEANS!
To activate the perk you have to hit - which means you losing any bloodlust,
The perk is working only for 10 sec, and bloodlust only activates from 15 sec.
I've no clue how you think Bloodlust and rapid brutality can work at the same time bruh...

Bloodlust is being removed after you pressed M1 or brake a pallet, you know that?=)
You mean a pallet you can avoid breaking, or the M1 you probably won’t whiff if you’re moving 3x faster than the survivor b/c you’ve got Rapid Brutality and Bloodlust? Lol.

Nah, if you as a survivor moving 3% faster, you'll barelly see the diff if a killer will move 5% faster for 10 sec.
Also, I remember survivors asked me "3% is a problem?" Good thing I will be able to ask in return then.=)
5% for 10 sec is a problem?
But you said remove the Bloodlust drawback. So you’d be moving faster than 5%. It only takes 15 seconds to gain Bloodlust 1 and that’s a 150% bonus to your base speed, which would be increased already by Rapid Brutality. I dunno what the rest of your post means. But MFT isn’t a 1:1 with bloodlust + RB or even bloodlust by itself.

This perk will be a meta for any M1 killers from there I suppose. And I'm not having any issues with that.
Can you imagine? You’re already faster than survivors, but with the perk you gain +5 haste and Bloodlust. Pair it with Coup… It’d be like your Bubba except faster. No survivors could avoid your hits.

Isn’t it the one where like half of the map is a dead zone now? Or was it the other one—cowshed?

They made the maps more killer-sided but I understand that they’re specifically tough for ranged killers (besides maybe Pyramid Head).

I don't disagree with you, I'm just interpreting what I read. It's why after healing nerfs and COH nerfs, it's endurance meta now etc. etc. The always give something to the other side, that then gets complained on about. And hey it makes sense, but I think when people heard about healing nerfs they wanted that without anything else getting buffed for survivors or nerfed for killers. BHVR simply re-adjusted the strength/efficiency of survivors away from healing and put it into endurance effect (also DH nerf was bs since endurance has been buffed/has been added to more perks after its gutting).
I agree. Killer mains chiefly wanted survivors nerfed and imagined that this would mean healing is oppressive but gens regression is, too. BHVR isn’t ever going to do this, as this isn’t a PvE game and they need a robust survivor player base.
-
We used to have offerings (full moon, half moon, etc) that changed the time of day for maps/made them darker. These were removed because of player complaints.

The way i understand what killers want is passive slowdown in the form of injured/healing nerfs, without survivors getting anything in turn to balance the scales. They want Thanatophobia basekit (and better) most just can't say it.
When they say staying injured has no cost they mean, it has no cost on gen speed or survivor actions. The want being injured, except for a risky state, to also be a debuff for the survivor in general. That's what I understand they want. I've only seen a few admit to wanting Thanatophobia basekit, but from their complaints that is what I get. Perhaps Thanatophobia only for gens so as to incentivize healing, otherwise if healing still takes a lot of time, then in that case doing gens injured will again be the better strategy.
The only scenario I can imagine that would incentivize getting healed is receiving a 50% slowdown on gen speed if you are injured. But we all know in such a case solos will be the sacrificial lambs again and then we'll have complain threads over Bond, Empathic Connection etc. which would become meta for solo survivors.
But with Sloppy Butcher running rampant they indirectly incentivize healing lol.
It’s important to note that BHVR is trying to balance around a specific kill rate. If killers had Thanatophobia basekit the kill rate would increase, likely beyond the star BHVR wants.

and no, maybe the bming survivors from previous matches got to the plague's skin was what i meant, but slugging to secure the 4th bot kill is something else.
you do you at the end of the day everyone plays how they want, but the point of the post obviously wasn't like she cannot do that or whatever, it's just such an unnecessary and weird behavior. i just hope she actually was doing a challenge or adept.
She didn’t slug because of some previous ultra seal team 6 teabagging survivors. She just wanted a 4K. Lol

There's a difference between killers being forced to run the strongest of the weakest perks
And survivors bringing the strongest of the busted perks.
What is a killer supposed to swap pop for? Eruption , that gives you 10% on a down IF you pre-kicked a gen? Jolt, for 8% IF you use M1s? SHPR where you only have 4 uses and sometimes you'll waste a token on a 10% gen?
I'd rather gamble pop sometimes being used on a 10% gen for the extra 3% , with the upside of sometimes knocking down 30% of an almost finished gen
Meanwhile survivors have multiple variations of endurance, busted combos like FTP+BU , MFT+Resi , multiple perks to slam gens with etc etc.
Everything survivors have and bring exists to counter a killer’s play style (typically camping, tunneling, or slugging).
-
@DemonDaddy said:
I don't mind that they give survivors tools to counter some killers, but the frequency that these tools are available are far to quick and accessible. These tools should be a resource survivors want to reserve until absolutely necessary and just as finite as some of the killers with resource caps.
What is a resource cap for killers? It can’t be hooks because BHVR increased the number of those across maps a while ago. And they tend to spawn within 15-20 meters of one another barring like one map.

I could go on about balance forever as it's kind of my thing. They need people of high skill level playing their game and not just out in the wild. They need them on the INSIDE.. BHVR doesn't do that as if they're too proud to ask for advice OR they already know what the answers would be and are preemptively refusing the idea.. They let an extremely whining community balance their game for them instead.. The highest level of play is what all games should be balanced on as it trickles down the ladder more smoothly that way, but you can't even attempt to balance that way if none of your dev team has any clue what high level is and are just going off of whining to keep the player #'s up.
If BHVR want the state of this game to change for the better, eventually they'll have to start asking people who actually know everything about the game. Someone like OTZ is a perfect example. OTZ knows more about DBD than the majority of the devs AND players I'd wager, as he uses anything and everything in the game and has exhausted all types of play, but even just OTZ won't be enough. OTZ has more of a sugar coated mindset, which will work for the overall balance, but only to a certain extent. You need to counter OTZ's not so blunt nature with someone like Tru3Ta1ent. Another streamer who knows most of the, let's say 'numbers' of DBD. If I was BHVR I'd be ringing both of them, asking exactly what we need to do in terms of a sweeping health change for the game. Telling them to combine their minds and figure out what is best for the future.
All of this would be a strategy just to nurture the future. I mean it seems like they're either to proud to ask certain people in the community what they think should be done or they're just 'know it all's'.. If they think they have all the answers then, by all means, just keep going, but as they have shown time and time again, BHVR doesn't have a clue.. To make the game flourish they'll have to of course listen to community feedback and be more transparent, but more importantly, they need to be smart enough to know when to ignore the whining, which in this DBD community unfortunately, is most of the time.. They also shouldn't promise the idea that they'll be more transparent and then NEVER deliver..
They shouldn't be afraid to make their game the way they see fit, but if they're going to let people simply whining alter their decisions every time, then they might as well be asking for ACTUAL good advice from people like OTZ who know the game inside and out.. BHVR are stuck in a loop of, Let's try this... Oh, it didn't work out.. Let's try that... Oh, it didn't work again.. If they keep going in circles like this then I believe the game won't last another decade. I don't see why its so hard to ask select people in the community for help. Seems like an obvious thing to me.. You have a good handful of decent streamers doing DBD content with great ideas of how things work, yet you can't muster the courage or hide the pride to simply say to one of them, "Hey, we'd like to do a voice call with you some time and get your opinion on a few things. What do you think?" It's a shame that in particular is so hard for them, because at this point its beyond obvious that it's the correct route to take.. :/
All they could say to this ramble is, "Well, we have people who we're already paying to do just that..and we think we've done a pretty good job so far.." And then I immediately counter that statement with, "Well...guess WHAT?!.. What you're doing isn't working.."
They balanced Deathgarden, another game of theirs, around the highest level of skilled play and guess what happened? The game died. Lol.

Not always wise to heal under hook. 2/3rds of killers will return to that hook when they hear the loud noise notification. And your We’ll Make It doesn’t always guarantee you get the heal off in time for the survivors to reach safety.

Going to SWF only would kill the game because you cant always find full squad.
You probably could if you play enough solo queue. You’ll eventually find three other gamers worth their weight.
-
I mean healing isn’t so bad if you play SWF but of course in solo queue you can’t predict how the other survivors will behave. I personally think the devs are pushing for survivors to SWF anyway. It would make the game easier for them to balance of solo queue didn’t exist.

Idk DS did a pretty fantastic job at punishing tunneling without needing to do much else. They could easily introduce a perk that lets you stun the killer for 3-5 seconds if you are hit near a hooked survivor. And buff DS back to 5 as well.
DS did jack all to killers running that combo. I know because I ran it too. 😅

If everyone tunneled and camped, it would get fixed a lot sooner. Beacuse instead of the survivor population slowly dying like it is now, you would see it fall off a cliff. So yes, you should play as dirty as possible, because nothing gets fixed unless the devs see it as an issue.
I don't think people are just dicks to be dicks, they want to win and that means playing dirty. But it's a competative game, so dirty things should get patched way faster than it is currently getting fixed in DBD.
I think tunneling should be a gamble like it use to be with old DS. The killer shouldn't always feel compelled to tunnel like they do right now. There is no reason not to tunnel someone right now, so why would you expect them not to? There should be mechanics in the game that severely punishes tunneling if the killer plays poorly or the survivor plays well.
I think camping should be taken out back and shot however, it takes no skill and no one enjoys it. It's literally just bad game design.
To add, killers were camping and tunneling during the height of EruptOverBrine, when it took ages to complete the gens. It’s been said ad nauseam but there’s just no way to disincentivize those playstyles. They probably won’t stop unless they’re punishing, in some way.
-
Even if you somehow punished people for failing skill checks, what’s to stop them from running into the arms of killers? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a killer turn down a free kill. Not once. Lol.

How would killer never lose another chase? It’s literally a guess. There are mindgames involved. You either swing or respect the pallet and go to the other side. THAT’S actual gameplay, not this safe loop to safe loop BS. Dead hard was stacked in the survivor’s favor because if they were wrong on dropping the pallet, they could dead hard to take the hit. It sounds like you think that it’s ok for there not to be even counterplay- you think the survivor should aways have an advantage.

Adrenaline is fine to me. It’s 1 of 2 viable survivor late game perks—by which I mean perks designed specifically to activate once survivors have finished all gens. Killers have a similar class of perks although they have quite a few more than two (NOED, Bloodwarden, No Way Out, Terminus, etc).
