Thats very interesting i think the bots are crap too but are you really better of wirh a 3v1 then with a bot?

I mean the bot could atleast brain dead work on a gen and pre run the second the terror radius come close.

From my experience, the Bots are utterly useless. They sometimes wont do Gens. Yesterday my game crashed and according to my SWF-Mate my Bot did nothing for around 2 minutes.

But what a Bot can provide is pressure for the Killer, mainly when it comes to PGTW and (if not used already on the actual player) Pain Res. And I feel that the Killer just benefits way more than the Survivors from a Bot. I think a 4v1 with a Bot is worse than a 3v1.

  • None of the Perks in S-Tier are actually S-Tier.

DH is relying on Ping, which makes it not S-Tier. It is a decent Perk, but having to be this precise and getting it ruined by Ping is not really something I would call S-Tier.

Adrenaline is not S-Tier either after its Nerf, which was way too hefty. A Perk which is one-time use and only activates in Endgame needs to be stronger to be S-Tier. Most of the time you dont get use out of Adrenaline anyway.

DS is not S-Tier either after the "Buff". It is not really a Buff, it is more a compensation for the longer animation. But what should have been a flat out buff is not really a Buff anymore. Perk will probably still not see any use and therefore not be S-Tier.

And OTR is simply the most overrated thing in the game. The Killer can get rid of it in 1 second. So yeah, 80 seconds of Endurance, sure…

  • Bots should have never been a thing in public games in the first place. Not even as a replacement for a DCed Survivor, since Bots are not better than no Survivor, they are in fact even worse. A 3v1 is better than a 4v1 with one Bot.

So Bots should obviously not be a thing in public games on a regular Basis without DCs.

I play a multiplayer game to play with and against other players. If I want to play against or with an AI, I would play other games.

  • They usually take some time before they implement changes. So I would not expect anything before the next Midchapter (which is after the Anniversary Chapter).

Sables Perks clearly need changes and Buffs.

As for the Unknown, I think the Killer is fine as it is. Not busted, but certainly not weak, high B-Tier or even A-Tier (I would say A-Tier).

  • @UnusedAccount said:

I don't know what else BHVR can do without completely gutting Killers at this rate.

So far it does not look like they actually tried.

  • Did they even cheat? No offense, but I have seen people claim that someone is cheating while they were clearly not cheating. Would also explain the behavior of the Survivors.

  • Yep. They did not buff DS, they added an animation and compensated for the longer animation.

  • Yes, 100%. I would not go that far to say that they are stronger than Nurse, but 100% stronger than Blight.

I dont think they tested it before. There is no way that this went through QA and they thought "Yeah, this is fine."

It's actually about 14 GB on my Switch (but I think it's 20 GB fully downloaded without a physical game card).

So long as it's not much bigger than that, I should be OK.

I dont know how the game is compressed on Switch, but on PC I have currently 40GB. So if it is 32GB, it would actually be smaller.

So I doubt it will go up a lot on Switch.

  • @tjt85 said:

Oh heck… I hope the next update won't be that big on the Switch. Pretty sure I don't have the extra space for an update that huge. I don't know much about the differences between the two engines, but I'm hoping it means better optimisation for the older / low powered platforms.

It is not 32GB bigger, it is 32GB big. So you wont need more space on your Console, the 32GB replace and do not add.

Is that the server crash message?

Looks to me like a time-out/signal loss, only worded from the clients perspective.

And if the server can't discern a connection loss from their side, it I'll also simply see a connection loss.

A server crash "should" have a dedicated analysis tool and remove the penalty.

Yeah, Dedicated Server not responding is the message you get when the Server is crashing and everyone gets disconnected. And apparently they added a penalty now to this, because I did not receive a penalty when this happened to me. But I did not have this error for a few weeks now, so I cannot confirm if it changed.

  • Apparently they updated the Engine to UE5.

Current endgame when survivors are losing promotes not progressing the game and instead hiding until your fellow survivor is caught and dies so you can potentially get hatch. That's not healthy.

I almost never see it. Dont act as if this is a common experience.

  • @BrightWolf said:

Don't forget Oceiana, which counts Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Solomon Islands and parts of Japan/China/Korea (these guys are mostly VPNers, but I could be wrong) to name a few. IIRC the OCE servers are in Sydney (or Melbourne) so if you're outside of those states or even Australia you just have to put up with 80+ ping. Hell even within Australia with decent internet, I still have to deal with 75-150 ping, depending on the traffic on the server, weather, server/providor issues or multiple people in my house using the network.

Yeah, Russia was just an example because I am affected by it. There are obvioulsy far more regions where no Servers are nearby and who get connected to Servers quite far away. I think the same applies to Arabian countries.

Choy, a DbD content creator made a video on this a few months ago. IIRC, BHVR can look into the metadata of your game and figure out it wasn't you cheating if you're framed and falsely reported for cheating. You can find the video on Youtube.

Exactly. If people are not actually hacking/cheating, they dont have to worry. Players get reported all the time for Hacking or Cheating just because the other side does not understand something. So even if someone gets reported because a Hacker is messing with them, nothing to worry about when it comes to Bans.

Just getting reported for Cheating/Hacking will not result in a ban. And this is good.

    you don't need hatch escape.

Just accept the loss and go next, I suppose?

I dont mind not escaping via Hatch.

Not that you brought any argument or anything. If you dont know what to say, just dont answer. I know that I am right and that the claim that current Endgame is unhealthy is wrong.

  • @_Onyx_ said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3692921#Comment_3692921

I'm guessing you don't even watch Tru3's content. His ideas are never biased to a side. They're constructive and aimed at game health. Obviously not every idea is a gold mine since he never usually fleshes out his ideas; but his endgame is a hell of a lot healthier than the current one. If I'm correct, Tru3's endgame also respawns in pallets that have been used in the trial.

He is very biased, one of the most biased players. There are Killer Mains who are less biased than him who always hides it with "I play both sides".

And the current Endgame is not unhealthy. One Survivor getting a pity escape via Hatch is not unhealthy. Killers can make it unhealthy by slugging endlessly for a 4K, but this is on the player, not the system itself.

Because as Killer, you dont NEED a 4K most of the time. If you finish the game with Gens still up and a 3K, it does not matter if the last Survivor gets lucky and finds the Hatch, you won as Killer. Let alone that the Survivor most likely has to get lucky to find Hatch first, because they a) move slower and b) have to hide while the Killer finding it first is more unlikely.

    Example from yesterday:

Playing against a Spirit, 2 Gens to go, second Survivor dead. The only Survivors alive are SWF-Mate (0 Hooks) and another player (1 Hook). Spirit downs me, so I will not struggle or anything. But, she does not hook me. Instead, she lets me on the ground for almost 4 minutes to search for the other Survivor. Then (I have AFK-Crows at this point) she picks me up and plans on walking around with me (she had Agitation) to find the last Survivor. When I started wiggling she let me escape and ignores me for a minute or so, but since I am doing a Gen, she downs me eventually. I kobe (classic) while trying to suicide and then she lets me repair a Gen for 1 minute again before finally hooking me.

In the end she finds the Hatch first and gets the other Survivor while they are opening a Gate. So tell me, if she would have not done all of this, would the Endgame be unhealthy? No. Would it be unhealthy if the other Survivor escaped via Hatch and it is "only" a 3K with 2 Gens left? No.

But she MADE it unhealthy by keeping me slugged the whole time AND trying to prolong it even more by not letting me Bleedout. It is the Killers action which make Endgame unhealthy, this fixating on having a 4K instead of just accepting a Win with a Hatch escape (which it clearly is).

So yeah, Killers are the problem Endgame can become unhealthy, not the system itself.

  • There is a server-side validation. However, it is incredible lenient towards high Ping-Killers. You have to remember that one Dev once said that 150 Ping is good Ping, which is as wrong as it can be.

Then there is the issue that not every region has Servers nearby and BHVR is not able to provide more Servers or does not want to do that. E.g. Russia cannot have a Server because BHVR is using Amazon Game Servers which are not supported in Russia. So Russian players connect to EU-Servers, most likely Frankfurt. And then they will have high Ping. And then it has to be lenient, because otherwise that would mean that Russian Killers would never get hits. (I use Russians as an example here, because I also am connected to Frankfurt)

And yes, this sucks. But nothing can really be done about it, even tho I think that they NEED to show the Killers Ping in the Lobby. Because the Survivor Ping does not matter for the Survivor, I can have below 50 Ping, but this does not matter if the Killer I go against has 200+ Ping.

  • The techs mentioned have nowhere near an impact compared to Hug-tech. With heal tech, one Survivor might go out. With crouch tech, rarely a hit will not connect (really, I never had a problem with crouch tech and I play a lot of Billy). And if you fall for a CJ-tech as Killer, sorry, you deserve it and should go back to newbie-MMR.

Meanwhile Blights hug-tech had way more impact and made the game against Blight way harder for the Survivors, not compareable to one Survivor getting away or similar things.

  • Not my favorite Killer to go against (mainly because she takes away Bloodpoints for healing and because of teammates who decide to cleanse against her), but I dont mind her too much. Unless she goes full Slowdown with Dying Light, Thana, etc. Then it gets really boring and tedious.

  • Because they have been released way earlier than Ghost Face (or similar Killers). You can see the same with Perks. Old Perks, especially those which never got their effect changed, have short texts while new Perks have long texts.

Simply because to create unique things with over 80 Characters and hundreds of Perks in the game, you have to add more things to make them unique.

Exactly so why even do it. Like it's definitely not for the fun that for sure. I can't think of anything worse than fishing for the correct game and then everyone lines up in front of the killer to take turns at getting hit and healing before moving on to standing under pallets to take turns at dropping and resetting the pallets.

I'm actually still stumped to why it's even a thing in DBD tbh. Like is account selling/boosting with all perks P3 and P100s a thing in DBD? That would make sense to me if it was. There's usually a monetary motive behind things like this.

People can spend their freetime as they want. And if some people have fun to queue up into matches to maximize their BPs, it is whatever.
In the end, as long as there is no price involved, it is fine. If for example BHVR would have made a competition and the Top 10 players who got the most BPs during the event would receive some Auric Cells, THEN it would not be ok.

But it is only Bloodpoints and the advantage is not really significant, if you can even call it an advantage.

  • @Marioneo said:

For Clown this rework his huge hes gonna be a speed demon but huntress its a pretty big nerff

Its not like she needed the Buff she received to begin with. She was one of the most popular Killers before and I have seen nobody claiming that she needs Buffs.

But even IF the Devs thought that she needs a Buff, it was just wrong to keep her Belt-Add Ons untouched.

  • @Lost_Boy said:

I care because when people abuse game mechanics that result in achieving things at a rate of 3-5x what the normal player would it becomes a problem for the Devs and they normally rectify the situation by nerfing it so it's not possible anymore.

Happens all the time in different games, so if it ever happens in DBD then don't say I didn't warn you.

I mean, its only Bloodpoints. Its not like they get a meaningful competitive advantage from this.

original one is unhealthy, considering it is a Bubba-Perk which requires basic attacks for a Killer who can instadown with a Chainsaw…)

To be fair, Knock Out originally did not have the basic attack requirement, as it was originally created to work with Bubba's Chainsaw.

Not sure why it was changed.

Maybe because they wanted to make it weaker (but then they should have just reworked it, since it is only used for griefing and I would rather have a decent Perk than one which never sees play except to annoy the other side).

Or they just wanted to remove the M2-synergy to create the Add On which hides auras when downed with a Chainsaw.

I thought she already had one with the iri? I think it just makes her a m1 killer though. Ironically these will probably be better than that iri.

Yeah, but she only gets Haste when she is out of Hatchets, which makes her an M1-Killer without Power.

This only grants haste for 5 seconds, but she still moves with 113% Speed for 5 seconds after throwing a Hatchet, so she is better at keeping up with the Survivor after throws.

Not sure if it will be impactful at all, need to test this. But it is certainly more healthy than the previous effect.

  • Good that both Killers got their Add Ons changed.

But not so sure about giving Huntress Haste.

This perk might actually seem some use if DS OTR/DH WOO Unbreakable becomes the next Meta.

No, it wont. It did not see use before 6.1.0, even when DS was way stronger. People who say this know will not even equip Knockout, because it is not a good Perk.

    @Topic:

100% agreed. Knockout is one of those Perks which is mainly used to make the other side miserablee. It is not really a strong Perk and gets countered by SWF, but if not everyone is in the SWF and with a build around it, it can be really annoying. And the only reason to use it with a specific build is to annoy the other side. It should be completely reworked into a decent Perk.

Who knows? Maybe charms and playercards will become re-obtainable next year given that there is currently no spot for them in the store, maybe with the upcoming store overhaul, there might come a spot for them down the line.

This is speculation. And I would not assume that those things will be back next year, because currently, they did not bring back Charms from previous events or Rifts. So getting them this year is the safest bet.

Maybe a 10 sec compromise so Mobility Killers won't be immediately back on you. How does that sound?

I mean, I agree that 30-40 seconds is extreme. But it should be meaningful. Which DS is not, neither at 3 seconds nor at 5 seconds. Because in the end, the Killer can ALWAYS choose to not tunnel. If someone gets hit by DS it is the consequence of their own actions.

But in general, I like the idea of disabling the Power, because it weakens the strong Killers more than the weak Killers. A Clown who cannot throw Bottles or a Trapper who cannot place a Trap for a few seconds are weaker, but the overall loss of power is way less than a Wesker who cannot dash for a few seconds or a Nurse who cannot blink.

  • @solarjin1 said:

if nurse have to float around the map for 40 seconds without blinking she gonna lose. I like his idea of it being a universal perk but that about it

Yeah, would be a shame if an Anti-Tunnel Perk would have any impact on Nurse. In the end, she could have always NOT tunneled…

The fact that they wrote annual makes it pretty telling that it's something that's gonna happen yearly from now on.

This does not mean that everything will be available again next year. I guess the Cosmetics will probably be available via the Store, but Charms and the Playercards-Items might not be available afterwards.

Honestly, it doesn't matter if there new content if it vanishes too quickly so many killers have between 1-2% pickrates according to Nightlight (which I know is mostly going to be high MMR because who donates stats to Nightlight?) but it really does feel like it so the new content has started to matter less over time because the game is bloated.

What's the point in playing dbd as a fan of alien if you are only going to be chased by the alien 3% of the time. Less can be more very few people are going to play dbd for the first time because the dredge killer released ages ago that blends in to the rest of the roster looks cool. Its more important that we get better new content than the steady flow of meh we are getting.

I think its why licensed chapters don't add as much to the game as they use to and its why they have less of an impact than they use to in drumming up players to return or join the game . (I went to the wiki found their release dates and looked at the Steamstats for dbd, Yes it only shows one platform but its only only stats we have)

I won't go any further as Freddy is when I started playing so I really cant claim to understand the effect earlier chapters had and as Ghostface was not a full chapter I'm not including him.

The game is just super bloated.

"Honestly, it doesn't matter if there new content if it vanishes too quickly so many killers have between 1-2% pickrates according to Nightlight (which I know is mostly going to be high MMR because who donates stats to Nightlight?) but it really does feel like it so the new content has started to matter less over time because the game is bloated.

What's the point in playing dbd as a fan of alien if you are only going to be chased by the alien 3% of the time."

This is a very good point, I also feel the same about this. Currently, every Killer becomes rare, simply because there are so many of them and statistically you will encounter them even less the more new Killers are released. Even the most recent Killers are rare nowadays, even if they have an average Pickrate.

I also think that this makes the game less accessible for new players, mainly Survivors. Because how do you want to memorize all those abilities when you encounter Killers once in a blue moon?

And for myself, I feel that I once I completed a character the next character is already released. I bring all Killers and Survivors to P9 (which unlocks everything which can be unlocked via Prestige) and I always have the feeling that once I am done with that, the next characters are already around, which restarts the grind. And I dont think that the grind (spending Bloodpoints) itself is bad, but there are just too many characters each year.

  • I have not really seen people talking about completely cutting new content. But I think going from 4 Chapters /year to 3 Chapters/year would be fine. This is still a lot of new content while it also gives more time to revisit existing content.

Let alone that usually the Winter Chapter is the most buggy one, most of the time it affected new content, last time it affected existing content. Cutting it down to 3 Chapters/year might prevent this.

how about buffing regression rate to 200%? this means that ruin regress gens at 200% and kicking gens become more rewarding.

    Yeah…no.

Ruin was a strong Perk with 200% Regression, having it baseline would be too much.

I mean the point of hexs is they can just be cleanses. Thats what removes them permanently. Especially with how fixed the spawns are now. If ruin is never found the killer must have insane pressure or a lucky spawn. I feel like disabling a perk because "they have already won" could go for a lot of perks. But probably not the high risk-high reward of hexs. Personal opinion though.

Yeah, weird opinion, but it would involve nerfing a Killer-Perk, so I get it.

    Seriously, it is

    a) extremely unlikely that it happens anyway that a Survivor is dead before Ruin is cleansed and

    b) at this point the Killer is in a VERY good Spot and will most likely win the game. So why make it harder for the remaining Survivors when they will lose anyway?

And well, there are still really good Totem Spawns out there. But of course nobody ever talks about them.

"it was nice that there were some extra so that not every Challenge needed to be completed."

As someone who didn't get time to complete them all it was nice I was still able to unlock everything. Hope they keep doing that.

Yeah, I hope so as well. Sometimes people just dont want to play Survivor or Killer or dont want to bother with a certain challenge for whatever reason. Then those people dont need to worry that they might miss out on Rewards.

  • I mean, this is complaining on quite a high level. In the end, you could have also gotten nothing for those extra Trinkets, it was not hard to grind them anyway. And it was nice that there were some extra so that not every Challenge needed to be completed.

  • They can bring back Ruin. Or just switch the Nerf they have kept. Deactivating Ruin when a Survivor died is a fair and healthy design. Reducing the Regression to 100% is not really good because it makes Ruin quite useless. I think it would be perfect if it is 200% Regression and deactivates once a Survivor is dead.

Iron Will should also make a Comeback. There was not really a need to nerf this Perk in the first place, but if they really want to nerf it, they should just make it inflict perma-Exhaustion to the Survivor. So you have a huge Trade-Off by not being able to use Exhaustion-Perks, but not having any Grunts of Pain.

Those are the Metaperks at least. Obviously they should also revert the Nerf to Calm Spirit (or make it only apply in the Killers Terror Radius, it would make sense lore-wise that the Survivor is more careful when the Killer is nearby, so they are silent, but slower, but there is 0 point in being slow and silent when the Killer is far away… It would also be a neat thing for Stealth-Killers who would have an advantage here).

Also the nerf to Pharmacy should be reverted. Especially with Medkits way weaker than before, there is not really a reason why this Perk should only be useable when injured and not directly available at the start of the Trial.

I still maintain that regression/slowdown perks should lose 25% of their value across the board when 3 are equipped, and 50% of their value when 4 are stacked. There needs to be diminishing returns for stacked slowdown at a certain point, especially on higher tier killers.

Also, maybe a bit of a hot take: nothing should make gens explode and make survivors scream while someone is working on it. It's downright annoying. Just have the gen fizzle and regress. People would be 1000% less annoyed with Pain Res if it weren't for the explosion+scream.

Exactly, this would be a good solution. 4 Slowdown-Perks together might still be better than 2 Slowdown-Perks, but the value should decrease the more Slowdown is equipped. This would encourage Killers to bring other Perks, because in the end, nobody really NEEDS 4 Slowdown-Perks. If someone says they NEED to equip 4 Slowdowns, they are lying or overestimating their skill.

  • Nope. If you just prolong the game long enough it does not matter if your chases are longer since more ressources are used up.

Probably with the next big meta shake up in a few years. However, this will come with a trade off. Some other regression perks will need to be buffed, so that they can fill in the gaps.

Because Pop and Pain Res aren't too strong, they just create a stale meta. It is more clear than ever, that the game does not work without some pretty strong slowdown. Especially when DS goes back to 5 seconds (which is a good thing), the overall pace of killers will slow down to some degree.

"Some other regression perks will need to be buffed, so that they can fill in the gaps."

Yeah, god forbid bad Killers cannot stack 4 Slowdowns to compensate for their lack of Skill.

  • As others have said, when it comes to you build a good mix is important. Just stacking 4 Slowdown-Perks is the easiest way, but if you dont manage to get downs, you will not really get to use them. E.g. on Billy I run two Slowdown-Perks and two Information-Perks (while thinking to drop one of the Slowdown-Perks for a Chase-Perk, e.g. Enduring). The information-Perks are Lethal Pursuer and BBQ, both which might not be needed with good gamesense, but they ensure that I am constantly in a chase, which reduces at least one person from Gens.

I also highly recommend to give up on some Gens each game. The goal in the end is to kill all Survivors before 5 Gens are completed. 0-4 Gens completed does not matter, the Survivors cannot escape unless 5 Gens are done. So for you it will not matter if you kill them all at 5 Gens or with 1 Gen remaining. Examples for Gens which you can give up early:

    • The Gen in the Saloon on Dead Dawg. It is by far the strongest Loop on this map, the rest is not so bad to play as Killer AND it is a small map. Giving up this Gen if you see someone doing it early is usually the best bet, just dont bother with it.
    • The Gen in the Control Room and upstairs on Hawkins. Those take some time to go to, so if Survivors are repairing those early, it is just good for you because the area you have to patrol is smaller.

    Those are just two examples.

Another way to make your patrol area smaller is to ensure that you dont chase in areas where Gens are already completed. Running to completed Gens is bad for you and good for the Survivor. If you chase in areas where the Gens are still being worked on, this forces other Survivors to leave those Gens. To ensure this, some simple things like on which side you break a Pallet will help you, sometimes it is worth it to run around the Pallet one time so that the Survivor is on the side you want them to be when breaking it, because they are either closer to a Deadzone or closer to Gens which still need to be done.

This also applies to Hooking obviously. Carrying a Survivor into an area which incompleted Gens is mostly better than carrying them to a corner of the map or so.

And well, learn from your mistakes. It is easy to say "I lost because this map was unbalanced" or "I lost because the Survivors brought those Perks.". But if you can ask yourself if you really played the best you could and if you really did not make mistakes and the answer is "No", then you are already on the way of improving. If you need tips, you can also upload gameplay of yours here, from what I have seen the forum is really helpful if someone is asking for help and not just complaining.

To avoid being blinded during this animation, if I'm having to deal with speed walking I need the extra advantage.

Sounds like someone just wants to blind me. I ain't falling for it!

    Just look down.

  • And yet people will forget that to pull this off people record a lot more games than what they show on a Youtube-Video.

Have encountered this "tech" twice, it did exactly nothing.
