I can offer my own experiences with this, if it helps. ><
I've dealt with this for a long time across all games and IRL. Jerks, haters, bitter people. They're all like that for different reasons. Being able to hide behind a computer makes it even eaiser for them to act that way. It's very unfortunate.
It can stem from low self esteem, unhappiness, being bullied, jealousy, all kinds of things. Best to not over think it!
I was raised to be kind to everyone, even managed to befriend a lot of my haters.
Just know that it's them and not you, they need a hug. I either ignore them or offer them kindness, depending on the situation.

sigh... this again..
Most cheaters are EGS, turning off crossplay should fix you.
I play on anon because of the dbd community are toxic AF. My steam is 20 years old now, and not once before i started playing dbd did i have to turn my profile private to avoid being harassed and stalked. Now you want the ability to punish me because i dont like that?
Same thing happens to me. If I don't turn on anon mode I run into harassment and stalking problems. It's an easy fix.
The real solution is this game needs is a team dedicated to investigating hackers. Most other games I've played have them. You don't have to send them videos or anything. You report it and if they're guilty they get banned. That's it :)
-
All of them! I especially like Fengs big pigtails and Neas Princess outfit.
I'd buy so many of them. If we are lucky maybe a dev can reply saying if this is even possible :)
-
Idk what it is. My games have been filled with survivors giving up, slugging, folks throwing matches :(
I had one guy harass me in chat and call me a bunch of names because I was healing my teammates fast. Tired of being an odd balls mental punching bag. It's creepy!

Gens are flying because survivors have not any objective only gens.
Hex perks are garbage, killers are not using. No need to cleanse dull totems.
Boon perks are garbage, survivors are not using. No time wasting with blessing totems.
Searching chests is waste of time because mostly you will get garbage brown items.
Survivors are usually not healing because focusing on gens is more effective strat atm.
No surprise gens are even faster now. Thanks to BHVR for this boring new meta.
This is the answer here. They made it so there is literally no point in doing anything else anymore.
Ngl, I also find it boring. I miss when hexes and boons were fun, there was a reason to find totems. Finding chests was great when items were more useful.
Now all that's left is generators. Unhook, heal, move on.
Ppl used to not touch a gen injured, now they do. So that adds to them being done even faster.
Run botany/resilience/dejavu/adrenaline and you're all set.
-
On my p100s I get told in chat that they loved the challenge, and they did try to target me specifically.
Some don't say anything and the game seems normal, other times I get tunneled. Seems to be a mix.
When I play Chucky I don't target anyone, it's just who I come across.
-
If I ever call someone while playing I just use Skype on my PC. My headset is connected already to my PC so I don't hear anything.
As for switch I don't think it has anything so yeah, you'd be stuck with speaker phone unfortunately.
I wish I could be more help. When I play on switch (like Mario kart with my friends) , I play it on my TV and still use Skype on my PC. My headset has very good noise cancelation so no noise is heard.
-
I would also love to have bloody outfits for the Legendaries too and Christmas sweaters if that's possible!

Love when killers dodge the lobby cuz they see 1 P100 and then they dodge like 5-6x and then the next killer we get is an Ultimate Weapon Blight playing like it’s an tournament.. just so sick and tired of this bs prestige, why didn’t BHVR immediately hid it at the start?!
I played my p100 Jill for a while today to test this and this sums up my experience. I also got hit on hook and and over by a very unhappy individual more than a few times.
I don't play toxic at all, I just do generators, heal, unhook and take chase whenever. I do not do any unfriendly things. I just get targeted for a number. :(
-
The optimization has gotten so bad I've been forced to play on low graphics settings on my high end pc >.>
DBD and only DBD would shut off my monitor and game mid match, sometimes when in lobby, or whenever. No other game does this. I can run Anthem all day with no problems, RE4, and other very graphic heavy demanding games.
I wish the optimization would be addressed soon. It started I think when Skull Merchant came out.

The last couple of blatant cheaters I've reported (teleporters, caught multiple times on video) have never been banned (I've kept a link to their Steam profile)
I've stopped reporting cheaters since. Not worth my time nor the bandwidth.
This is what I did as well. I just gave up, I've sent video proof, reported in game, etc. Oddly enough Steam has banned people for stalking me, but the cheating...radio silence :(
I wish they had a team (or maybe they do?) dedicated to catching cheaters, with or without video proof.
-
Nurse is number one for me and Blight is second that need to be toned down. Nurse doesn't make any sense. Imagine if survivors had perks to go through walls? Or just...could jump through floors.
I play nurse a lot and it just feels really crazy, the things I can pull off.
The rest, well, Freddy needs buffs for sure. Meyers could be looked at a bit and I'm sure there are others that need buffs as well.
-
For Jill I alternate between all the legendaries and her outfits as well. She's all I play anymore really (along with Claire and Sheva).
Killer just gets Chuckys default outfit :)
-
If we are at the point where these two perks are what folks are complaining about, I think it's safe to say the game is quite balanced.
Both perks seem fine to me. They're hardly OP or problematic. Half the time my distortion is a wasted perk slot, and stbfl is fine. It doesn't break the game.
-
Yes please! My favorite characters are all p100 and I'd like the option to hide it!
The same way we have anon mode, we need to be able to hide our prestige.
-
Sorry you're stuck in the hospital, I can relate :( I hope you get better soon!
I agree with you, the game should be able to discern between an honest DC and a rage quit. If it's impossible, then they should consider having something where they can investigate it and reverse the timer.
-
I don't find it to be problematic! I've ran distortion since I started playing, and the exposed status is so short.
Distortion never leaves my build, sometimes it's a wasted perk slot but I don't mind 🙂
You can also hop in a locker to counter it!
-
Yeah, I had someone in another thread try to tell me that the nerf to MFT is balancing it. Wrong lol. Nerfing things to the ground is counterproductive, and like I keep saying YOU END UP WITH PERK BLOAT. There are creative development teams who can find a nice balance and make most people happy.
You want to cater to the casual gamers, as they make up most of the player base, I can see here this isn't the case lol. Casual players used it I believe to be slightly better at kiting. I said in my other posts, I used it with a healing build, got bored and put back on my Smash Hit build. If someone can't kite, MFT isn't going to do anything. I've seen so many videos of killers swearing "THIS GROUP HAS MFT OMGGGGG" then after the match no one had it. It's like yeah, you're just...not doing so well. Who cares?
Even worse is the bait and switch. Release a character with an enticing perk (It can be a killer or survivor) then nerf it sometime down the line. You know, speak with your wallet, just stop buying stuff...
People defending it are just rationalizing, and saying you should make your entire build around one perk, that is just...no. I am not using all these perks to make one half decent lol. I can win with using whatever perks...BUT I do not agree with this nerfing stuff to oblivion after selling it. One of my friends just bought Gabriel and he wants a refund. I said welcome to the club, happened with CoH and I knew it would happen with this.
Yeah, I don't get the update either, in fact, I absolutely hate it.
When they messed with the med kits and CoH (after I bought the character and leveled her lol) I stopped playing for the entire summer, I did not miss the game, and making all med kits the same was a snoozefest. I played it only because my 10 yo niece begged me to play with her when she came back to stay with us because her school started, I felt bad so I did.
So yeah, I only play when she asks me...D: I thought maybe an update would fix stuff, but uh....female vaulting is still giving killers gimp free hits and that's....not fixed? Okay...
I haven't spent a dime on the game and will not anymore. There is no point in buying characters for perks if they will just get nerfed to the ground. Remember what they did to eruption, and people got really upset and then they actually made it BALANCED instead of nerfing it to crap? Yeah, that is what should have been done in the first place.
-
Yes, I'd love to see how it works and IF it works.
My friend who has 75 hours in the game is being matched by people who have 2k+ hours.
-
I think it's the opposite. It's just getting worse. Catering to the hardcore playerbase instead of the casuals is a mistake.

This. It's bait and switch and I'll no longer be a fool falling for it.

I always felt so bad for killers when their perks get nerfed to oblivion. Survivors too.
It's such a mistake, instead of finding a healthy balance, it's just nerf to the ground. Mmm perk bloaaaat.

There are plenty of good survivor perks. But there's a handful of the best ones, and everyone acts like if it's not as good as the best ones, it's worthless. I don't care for that mindset. You can win with any perks, if you're good enough. You can even win with no perks, if you try hard enough.
MFT was a piece of crap that deserves what it's getting. It'll be a fine, useful perk when the change hits, compared to the badly designed nonsense it is now.
It still gives the 10 seconds of Endurance when you heal someone, and now it can't be deactivated by Exhaustion so that part is even stronger than it was before. That's a plenty good effect, the Haste if you get hit while in Endurance is now just a situational bonus. As it deserves to be.
Indeed and I can kite the killer for all generators usually with any perks, however, let's not ignore the fact that most people that play this game are casual players. Not hardcore.
You do not want to mess with casual player base perks and "balance" around hardcore players, which are much more few and far inbetween. FFXIV is extremely successful, because it caters to the most common gamer, the casual playerbase.
This post again has rationalization. Sigh.
This forum is getting exhausting for me, it's like I keep having to explain over and over. I don't use MFT, I tried it with a healing build as I wanted to see how it worked. I don't have issues kiting, so I switched to smash hit instead. Killers on the regular rage quit against me. I don't care.
Anyway, numbers won't lie, and if this perk is now in such an amazing spot and balanced sooooo well, I'm sure the pick rate and usefulness will be as high as windows! Why didn't I think of that? Jeez.
It is so obvious it was a character selling perk, only to be nerfed later. I see this with killer and survivor alike. A fool and his money are soon parted so I'm sure this cycle will continue and this stuff will sell quite well. Kind of smart really, I guess.
But not as smart as catering to the casuals :) My Bfs gaming company does and we make quite a lot of money, the game is he the lead of makes tons and tons of money and they certainly don't pull this kind of stuff. But hey what do I know :)
-
Sounds like someone who isn't that great at playing if they have to camp the hooks like that. I see it all the time. Their fragile ego is hurt and they get so desperate to "win" they do this.
Instead of improving and learning how to play PH without resorting to these sad tactics, they just do this and think it's a win. It's like using hot glue to make a costume instead of a serger.
-
Now it is for sure, we've so much perk bloat I wish I could just remove all the countless, useless perks off my selection menu.

10s of endurance after a heal AND 3% infinite haste while being in Deep Wound isn't balanced for you?
lmao, survivor mains when one perk doesn't let them run killer for 5 gens, do the 5 gens at the same time, open the exit gate in 2 seconds, take 6 hits, pick up every slug on the map instantly, and BM the killer.
Nope, it's dead. Like most of the other perks. I don't see what is so funny about perk bloat and them making characters to sell perks. But hey, if that's what you want to support, by all means. Anyway, a fool and his money are soon parted, I'm sure this cycle will continue and killer and survivor alike will continue to sell very well with these types of perks :))
I only used it with a healing build I tried out before, as I don't have issues looping/kiting. Got bored, took it off and use smash hit instead. Almost every killer rage quits against me. So don't even think for a second it's because I rely on it. Has to do with balance vs killing perks for survivor and killer alike and causing perk bloat, which is a problem.
As I've said before, my 10 year old niece gets 4K kills easily and never has had an issue with it. That's a kid.
Balance is not the same as killing off a perk. Yeah it's so useful when you have a deep wound, which is so common, happens so often you'll get so much use out of it. Like we're talking Windows of Opportunity use here! I'm sure it'll have a very high pick rate still to show how balanced it truly is. What a wonderful day to be alive.
Shall we go back to the original eruption "balance?", oh, I mean nerf. Yanno, the one that caused so much complaining that they actually BALANCED it. That perk is nothing to scoff at.
Please do not try to rationalize the nerf, and call it balance. Admit it's nerfed to the ground and move on. Defense mechanisms are so easy to spot.
Should I end my post with a condescending "lmao" as well? Nah, I don't feel that petty and childish.
Starting to wonder why I waste time even bothering replying on here, so much more productive things to do then point out this junk. Waste of my time arguing with these one sided close minded types.
-
They should just do what TCM does and show who is in a party together. At least then you can get an idea.
It'll make lobby dodging but meh whatever. I can't even play killer (due to motion sickness) and I don't care.

Nerfing overpowered perks is how you balance them.
Dead Hard is fine now. Made For This will be fine after this patch.
In what world do we live in where the definition of nerf (aka killing a perk and making it useless) is the same as balanced?
Eruption at first wasn't balanced, it was nerfed to the ground. Then after all the outrage of how useless it was going to be due to the nerf, they fixed it. The perk is still nothing to scoff at.
MFT is just garbage now. I never used it as I can kite good without it, but...
Balance is where something is still useful in a solid way. MFT was only picked to be used so much because most of the other perks aren't that great, it's just nerf nerf nerf. Dead perks. Perk bloat.
I'm tired of them putting perks on characters to sell them just to kill the perk later. Even if I don't use it, it's not cool to do that to people, killer and survivor alike.
-
Gonna say this in every thread I see - This was a character selling perk, and I won't change my mind.

You realize that this would also:
- Remove the ability for Blight to be an anti-loop Killer.
- Add more reason for Survivors to actually drop a pallet on top of Blights.
- Incentivize Blights to think of strategies to properly get around loops.
They just think because the way they use the mouse and what not that they deserve to keep all the add ons, weird gameplay and will try to rationalize in the saddest ways about justifying all of it.
Meh, I've no problem looping him and find they often rage quit when they see the typical cheap add ons and tactics don't work on me. The one's that don't know when to drop chase always lose.
I also love how a bug is kept in game with this character for years, dunno the weird rationalization behind that one, but gg.
-
Yeah apparently.
Since looping was never a problem for me I never ran MFT, I wonder what they'll blame next for not being able to win? Stay tuned to find out.

I'm going to do my best here with DbD math.
The way this would be calculated is (1 [base charge] + 0.06 [deja vu] + 0.1 [prove thyself]) * 0.85 [penalty for two survivors]
Simplified 1.16 * 0.85 = 0.986 charges per second or 98.6% efficiency.
So that means with two people you are adding 1.972 charges to a gen per second, it should take ~45.64 seconds to finish the gen.
On the other hand, if the two deja vu users were split up, they'd be adding 1.06 charges per second and taking approximately 84.91 seconds to finish a gen.
So in a purely perfect scenario, it would take two survivors working together ~90.28 seconds to finish two generators, while two survivors on different gens with deja vu could get it done in ~84.91 seconds.
Of course, its not always a perfect scenario. Against a killer with pain res / pop, getting gens finished is worth a lot more than just progress on gens. And certain gens are worth prioritizing. Not to mention, once four gens are completed, getting progress on multiple gens is good to pressure the killer, but otherwise unnecessary. On the other hand, grouping up on gens makes it easier for the killer to disrupt you and is less efficient.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3575589#Comment_3575589
It takes two survivors ~52.94 seconds to finish a gen w/o prove. It takes ~48.13 to finish it with prove. So its worth about 4.8 seconds.
It's not a great perk, but those seconds can make a difference in certain circumstances.
Thank you for explaining it to me :) Yeah it seems not worth using, maybe in clutch situations but dejavu is better it seems...
-
Like I said in another thread, just make him have unlimited knives. At this point, why not? Or make one knife just down survivors.
He's easy to kite and dodge, but he's the most annoying killer to go against. I absolutely hate him.
-
Yeah I've no idea how nurse got past development and into the game.
I've managed to stun it a lot of times and it can't catch me, but I find it ridiculous.
-
@Crowman said:
Just because sometimes you get bad solo q games doesn't mean that perks shouldn't be nerfed if they are too strong
No, they should be BALANCED, not nerfed for dead. That's incredibly lacking in any type of critical thinking to just kill perks. Zero respect for that, on both sides.
-
Huh? Are these like forum signatures or something?
If there isn't a Lisa one I don't really care.
-
It solved the satisfaction of staying on hook while killer wastes time and my team mates did gens to get out.
Now it's just proxy camp. I'll take fave camping any day over this frustrating proxy camp junk.
-
Yeah killing perks instead of balancing them is just fabulous. This goes for any perk on any side.
It's a terrible way to approach things and people defending this kind of uncreative thought pattern make me question their ability to think in a critical matter.
-
They slug because for some reason it's allowed and they most likely are not that great of players and/or suffer from some mental health issue and get a high from it.
And yes, as a lisenced psychiatrist I firmly believe this.
It can be an ego issue among other things, but I won't get into it on here too much.
I've had killers that I kited for the whole match slug me and stand over me because wah they got out played. Big deal. I lose sometimes too, who cares.
-
Well, there is always hope it might come back. ST day is soon so you never know :)

Agreed, totally useful now.
I'd argue it's griefing your team bringing it at this point lol. There is no balance, it's either let's make a perk on either side useless or OP.
-
A lot of people are talking about it.
People on reddit are being cringe as usual with their let's go comments, and nothing constructive. There is a few contrsuctive comments about why this is bad and how it will work.
I've seen a lot of comments in the official update thread as well, and someone wrote what they called an essay on the changes, so there is a lot of talking going on :)
-
At this point why don't they just give him endless knives, no cool down and basekit UW?
Like I said, I have no problem kiting him but this stuff just makes me wonder what goes on during their meetings and how they test the game.
-
I'd just like to see balance instead of make something extremely OP or make something useless.
It's getting old. I'm not spending money anymore on that stuff.
-
Then doesn't this make PTS useless?
-
Yeah it's great.
It's ok, I still see them rage quit against me when their addons that carry them can't do anyhting to me lol. I don't even get injured.
-
I hope not. As easy as that killer is to kite, I absolutely hate it.
-

People said the same thing about DH. And good. Toss it in the trash heap where it belong.
Yeah why not, instead of balancing it like eruption after everyone complained the nerf was too harsh, just make it a waste of money.
I just love perk bloat on both sides!
FWIW I don't use it and don't need it to make killers rage quit or kite them for five generators. It's just disgustingly sad how there is no middle ground. It's either useless or OP.
Epic failure.
-
Seems sad. Like the fist attempt at destroying eruption until people said it's overkill.
Whats up with killing perks so bad it just adds to perk bloat instead of balancing them? Is balancing really so difficult instead of just nerfing? They do this to both sides.
Well, I won't be spending any more money and I've lots and lots of it. Again, a balance would suffice but making this just another perk to add bloat to the selection is a hard pass for me.
I don't even use it, but this is just sad to see. Smh.
Also so pleased to see Blight's add ons are still the same ^_______^
Are female vaults fixed or are we still cool with giving killer gimp free hits on messed up vaulting?
Nice work.
