  • New patch broke vaulting and it's still not fixed, making killers get gimp free hits.

    So therefore, I hate it.

  • I think people gave up. They've expressed she doesn't belong in dbd, breaks the game etc for years and get ignored.

Now we have in game an extremely powerful alien and yet a girl in a nurse dress is more powerful. I've given up trying to rationalize it lol. It's ridiculous.

Can your niece - who do'nt even have the recommended age to play this game - get consistently 4Ks? Or its just in a single match? Really, i know some streamers that can get nice matches playing a match not focusing hooks into one person, but spreading through the whole team of survivors. And yet, those streamers have 8k to 10k hours of DBD, facing people with 2 to 3k hours. And they endure a lot of losses because of this, but its their playstile.

Sorry, but if your niece keeps playing with a tier B/C (even some A tier), eventually she will get to a point where most of the time the first chases will lead to 3 to 2 gens lost, even being very fast chases. Its not about the killer, but the current state of the game: people are getting better and better at doing objectives, doing gens even faster. If you spread hooks through everyone, you will get to the end of the game with everyone dead on hook but alive enough to leave.

Tunneling and camping cannot be seen OBJECTIVELY as toxic gameplay, mostly because its not a personal thing. Except for cases where the killer knows the survivor he/she is facing, they will use every strat at their power to ensure a win (as survivors do) .

I think that once most understand that tunneling and camping are tools to solve some core design problems of the game, they will abandon this mindset of "camping is toxic" to understand that this is not personal, but a way of playing to achieve a win.

Tunneling and camping does not lead to a certain win: there is some situations where camping and tunneling can be detrimental to the killer, as the survivor team can play efficiently around gens and even secure the escape of the target survivor depending on everyone perks.

Really, if that is your experience with the game, you should consider find some friends to play with, or play another thing. I have fun playing DBD as Solo Survivor, SWF and playing killer. If there is a time where i cannot enjoy it anymore, i will play another game for sure, as games are a way to relax and feel good, not feel stressed about it.

Heya :) Her mom let's her play, and I stay out of it, as she's not my child. She's not related to me and is my BF niece so I do not get involved. Not my business about her age and playing. I just don't care lol. They're drama central and I stay outtttt.

She plays Spirit, Blight and Nurse, gets regular 4Ks and plays a lot.

I'd play with friends, however, I don't want to get into it too much on here, but there is always a problem with me being hit on by men and women alike, it causes a lot of problems so I prefer to play alone or with my family members if they play. It's not worth it to me. Once they find my pictures and find out who I really am, then it's not fun. It's a nice suggestion though thank you :)

Their behavior is far more toxic than any tunneling or BMing. Haha I'll take crazy killers over that nonsense.

In the end after playing for a few days, and looping my attempted tunneler for 5 gens, I have decided that -

I find that tunneling just hurts the killer more than it helps them. A lack of damage distribution is going to simply result in generators being rushed. Forcing survivors to heal, to hook rescue, and to pick up other teammates off the ground is ultimately going to slow the game down in the long run. This is what my niece does and this is why she wins. (not the tunneling, the slowing the game down) She has around 2K hours.

When they waste time tunneling me and don't know how to drop chase, then whine about it, that's their choice. They gotta live with it. I've greatly reduced my play time and it's a lot better now.

Oh and with the vaulting STILL not fixed it's making me stay away even more. :s

OH and I can't play killer, the fov is absolutely ridiculous and it makes me throw up. Even my bf who plays nearly all his own games (the ones he makes) in first person can't tolerate it. He saw it and just kept making these comments in disbelief. ><

  • If this company deemed it a bug, then bugs should be fixed. I'd like to know when it'll be fixed as well.

If they have no intention of fixing their bugs, then that also tells me quite a lot.

  • @Venusa said:

The problem is that it looks like the survivors start the vaulting animation instantly in their original position (in air) instead of touching the vault location itself so by the time they make it to the other side they don't make any distance...

Oh wow, nice find. :O I just played a match and the vaulting is god awful, the killer had me on two hooks so fast lol.

To the devs - can we get an ETA when this will be fixed because the game in unplayable in this state.

  • How can one tell? It is impossible to use the entire playerbase as a sample to decide this. Anyhting else would be inaccurate. I'd rather not use statistics for this.

I know people who are amazing at this game and you'd never know their steam handle. Also, how can it be proven? One of my friends is by far the best Hux I've ever come across.

I don't know who any of these strangers are mentioned in this thread.

I'm not entirely sure how this works. Nor can anyone play with every single player to discern a proper answer to this question.

It's like that old commercial with the tootsie roll pop "The world may never know." :)

I cant believe this has devolved into whether Mandy is credible or not lol. ofc she is. Some forum nerd isn't in any position to tell anyone at BHVR, regardless of their role, what is and isn't.

Hug tech is here. Its likely here to stay. Get onboard or try TCM.

TCM is fun :) Once I finish the rift I will go back to TCM. Once that game gets more maps it'll be awesome.

The rush when playing is fun, and stealth is very useful in that game. Lots of fun hehe.

  • Both vaults are messed up? Welp, this is hopefully a priority fix as it makes the game unplayable, or do something to counter it until it's fixed please.

No wonder killers were getting me when they shouldn't have. I thought it was so odd, and I had to turn off the game because of it.

I need to finish the Halloween tome, this is going to be rather miserable to do. Please fix it ASAP. Hopefully later today it's patched.

  • It seems counter productive to not eventually add them to the store.

I'll still buy the rift and participate because I like getting the outfits cheaper and faster.

I don't need to feel special and unique with my deep rift outfits. Everyone should have the option to eventually obtain them.

  • It should be buffed, however, the real issue at hand is tunneling and once that is addressed perks like this can find a happy medium to get the job done.

  • @Hensen2100 said:

Do you think it is now, or back in the days of BT/DS/Dead Hard? I want to say any given match half or more than half of the survivor team usually has made for this, resilience, and windows and it's pretty much the autopilot looping build

BHVR: We don't want there to be a meta

*introduces most meta perk in the last 5 years*

I'm not trying to be rude in any way, but did they really say they do not want a meta? That is quite the task to accomplish.

In any game, players will always take the easiest path to victory, be it in an MMO (they will play OP jobs) or in this game, they will use the most powerful perks.

No matter what, they will always find them.

It seems like as long as perks will continue to be nerfed instead of buffed, and brought up to par, this will be a vicious cycle. I'm not a fan of it.

Now we have perk bloat, a ton of rather useless perks and a few solid ones that everyone uses.

Imagine if they never nerfed those other perks, but instead buffed killers perks or abilities, and allowed many fun combinations of perks for the opposite side.

I'll say this, playing against sloppy butcher non stop literally makes me fall asleep while playing. Never experienced that in a game before.

FFXIV does this every expansion and it makes me quit. They finally stopped and instead got rid of useless abilities and only keep useful ones. Or buffed useless abilities to make things more fun.

  • They don't matter though, that's the interesting part. My p100 Lisa can play just like my p10 Nancy. I am curious as to why people want to see them :) Sincerely asking.

I'd prefer them hidden, I often wait in lobbies for ten minutes, when people see my multiple p100s. I wish I was exaggerating. I just want to play my favorite character.

Sometimes it's so long I give up and just switch to a low level character.

Remove self unhook without deli(please don't mention luck builds as they are either hard throwing or strong with a full stack)

Make it so after you have 50 hours in the game, getting less than X bloodpoints after X time while being available to do so results in a penalty. EX: You have 500BP a min as a survivor at 5 min? You are not even remotely playing the game.

It's possible to make it so people can't baby rage quit the match, people just don't get it.

"If PeOpLe DoN't WaNt To PlAy ThEy WoN't" yeah no. Make them eat the mediocre DC penalty at least.

Typing like that looks painful and is difficult to read. I don't get it, and I'm glad I don't. It comes off as rather childish.

And yes, people will always find a way to leave, whether you like it or not. Lol put in a penalty like the one you suggested and bye bye customers. The developers won't do that, not a chance.

If it eats away at you that much, when someone is trying to leave via hook, there is reassurance. I saw someone do that before...you can guess what happened next. :x sigh.

The most we will likely ever see is a time penalty for disconnecting, and an easy way for people to avoid that is the hook.

Your argument has no premise whatsoever. However, OP and others do, and very strong conclusions to back it up.

If a teammate doesn't want to play, they don't want to play. What do you think you forcing them to stay in the game is going do? Now you have a tilted teammate in your game that may intentionally grief you even more. Just stop.

  • Haha, not anymore! You won't catch HIM but you'll catch HER cuz female vaults are messed up! Woohoo D:

  • I can counter her. As someone said the fast vaulting then doing a quiet vault back works, when she's phasing while chasing you, running back towards her works for me.

  • @Chaogod said:

A-are you serious? Are we playing the same game? The game has so much safety nets for survivor that it's insane. Gens go extremely fast and the game constantly forgives you for making mistakes. On top of an event that has WAY better benefits for you. Meanwhile killer is constantly punished for playing well and continues to get more and more restrictions.

They're very serious. It's a confirmed bug that females vaults are not working as intended, and official behavior devs commented on a reddit thread saying they're fixing it.

Are you playing the same game?

And no, I am leveling Nancy with the event, I don't want to play a male or level any, mine are all p3. The event should be extended.

  • Nancy.

    つ ◕_◕ ༽つbring back stranger things or riotつ ◕_◕ ༽つ

  • I'd like to use the pretty purple flowers on my survivor T_T

  • What is the entity anyway? Like, what does it look like, fully? I only see it's icky spider legs.

  • Same, I'm really confused what is taking them so long to remove it. It's been posted here for a long time now and there is no response about it. Never have I seen one person say they like it.

FWIW it doesn't make me play more, but less. I reach iri 1 without caring, but depipping is outdated and needs to go.

  • The hardest for me is the killers with "Techs" you know, those un intended gimmicks people get so attached to that the devs don't remove?

Plus I vomit from the fov, so that's a no from me dawg. Does it blow your mind (whatever that means) that some people can't play first person and throw up? That's totes fun, heheh...notrly.

Also idk what an otz is do you mean orz? I'm so confused. Maybe that's a good thing given the nature of your condescending post.

  • @TheArbiter said:

Not that you would ever know because two people play twins, but id honestly say them

I agree, Twins terror music is quite scary. I love it.

  • This happens almost every match and has been brought up so many times by people to have something done but here we are. Same stuff, different day.

I wish it would stop, bots were a start but then increasing DC penalty was counterproductive. Now we get to have 3vs1 most matches, yippy skippy!

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/394359/skill-issue-can-t-be-camped-or-tunneled-without-going-down

I think you could have worded it better but i 100% agree. The average skill level of the casual surv playerbase is honestly embarrassing lmao. I see people with thousands of hours not looking behind them and getting 2 tapped by wraith. A lot of the 'issues' with playing surv, even issues w solo q, could be solved if players just got better

    This is so condescending. Okay.

Average and casual huh? You keep saying those words but I don't think you know what they mean.

Casual and average players don't sweat like their life is on the line when playing. Its like in FFXIV, are you going to max/min and sweat to get highest parse and world firsts, or are you going to do the story at your own pace while playing through all the content just the same?

I can kite the killer for five gens if I put in effort, do I feel like doing that each match? Notrly. Sometimes sure, most of the times I get the killer to drop chase on me without much effort, but meh.

Maybe my BF is talking to me or I'm talking to others while playing. I'm not going to dedicate that much energy to a game every single match. I'll play it out and help best I can but I'm not Hyperfocusing like that, this isn't my acting career lol. It's a GAME.

If I die, oh well. Too bad so sad. My life and time is worth more than that.

  • We shouldn't, nor should we have a penalty. It's not on the players that the servers are not suitable for sustaining the amount of us that are concurrently using them.

  • What is that? Isn't that a game company? Or is that naughty dog? I've no clue lol.

From the looks of it, it's a giant stuffed bear? That's kinda cute.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

People should stop screaming at devs for something they have no power over. Why is it so difficult to understand...

Because the information is not so easy to find, or trust. They see the developers as the one's in charge and think they can make things happen with ease.

Finding actual credited sources, in an online world where things can be photoshopped and misinformation is spread, is hard.

I'm not defending them, as I'd never scream at anyone, that's quite barbaric behavior, but hopefully it's more clear now why it is difficult for others to understand.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Because Boons are a failed concept. Except for CoH, every other Boon was outright bad (with Shadow Step being borderline okish). So I am quite happy to not see any more Boons nowadays, Survivors very rarely get good Perks and a Boon-Perk would most likely mean that there is another terrible Perk around which would only be used in Adepts.

And even CoH is now really bad and they should have just kept the state of it before the most recent Nerf and make Boons work on one Floor only.

But currenty, there is no way the time investment is worth anything for any Boon around. You cannot really afford to spend 14 seconds away from Gens in the current Slowdown-Meta and especially when you are not in a SWF, having more than one person running around setting up Boons is almost already a loss.

Well, then they aught to hire more creative minds to come up with new ones. CoH was fun, I bought Mikaela just for that only to see it nerfed.

I loved bringing that and helping my team out, I felt like the game had roles, healer, gen rusher, kiter now it's just...idk, homenogized med kits and same stuff, different day.

  • I see this all the time. If there are no plans to fix the servers, kindly remove the DC penalty for this.

If neither is possible, then that's depressing.

  • @bjorksnas said:

Dc penalty shouldn't be changed and it should be applied to hook suicides

People signed up to play a game they should play it or get penalized for not playing it simple as.

If they don't like the match they will always find a way out, regardless.

Might as well cap the DC penalty. I'd rather have a bot then hand the killer a win at 3vs1.

  • Bester tbh. Can't beat that lol.

"But it sure doesn't seem like fun to me"

TO YOU, that's the point. TO YOU it's not fun

TO ME it is fun and i couldn't care less what do you think about what do YOU think MY fun should be

You sound fun. Reminds me of those people in ffxiv who play terribly (like how people have to tunnel to win) and cry "YOU DON'T PAY MY SUB."

    Yikes.

  • @okaayletsgoo said:

Go ahead and say what you want about it being efficient but I wait 10 minutes to queue into a game just to be tunneled with lethal/UW and killed at 5 gens in the first 2 minutes of the game while being hit on hook for no reason. It's been 7/7 games now. Haven't even had a chance to touch a gen or get in a chase. Killer sits just outside the hook radius and waits for someone to come and then tunnels down.

Y'all really have fun playing like that? I'm not asking you to throw the game and let survivors win just why be so sweaty dude? It's not for money? Chill out

Their fragile ego might sustain quite a lot of damage if they don't make the game easy mode asap by turning it into 3vs1 so they can win and attempt to fill that empty void caused by oh so many things wrong in their lives.

Whenever I get tunneled they usually waste the entire match trying and end up rage quitting.

  • I'm over here waiting for Claire's classic outfit :( Peanits replied to me before saying it's possible but it's up to capcom.

  • At this point I'll take anything to make the game actually scary 😭 It never felt scary for me. There is jump scares but that's about it.

  • @coco_shotz said:

It always seems to be the fault of everyone but the killers when it comes to why they can't secure any kills and have to resort to cheap tactics. I see killers get 3-4k all the time without tunneling or camping really (proxy doesn't count since it's not exactly camping still) and this can apply to most killers on the roster. You win some and you lose some. Everyone needs to start getting that

Same. I go against many killers who ignore the person unhooked and chase the unhooker. They usually get 4K, and yanno, it's actually a solid match.

Sometimes they don't even bother with the two people at the hook and they are busy getting survivors off gens, they still win. Those killers are pretty rad.

  • Memorizing pallet placement ain't gonna tell me in soloq if someone used it or not.

Agreed. It shouldn't even be a thing.

Hit through pallet stun is a problem that has been in the game for ages now.

On the killers screen, they hit you. On your screen you stunned them.

Ping does it's magic and both events happen.

Ping magic haha I like that. That's exactly what it is uggh.

It needs to be fixed so badly because it's so aggravating. Either kill me and no stun or stun and I live 😭

  • Yup it's all rinse repeat and gets old.

In solo q we mostly beat her badly, but sometimes matches go SO LONG because the slugging, we still win but my goodness, 40 minute matches, it's SM all over again.

  • @Rickprado said:

Sorry but tunneling and camping cannot be seen as "toxic behaviour": i would say in 80% of the matches, its just a strategy to put pressure on the other team. There is sometimes when a killer camps because it received a teabag, but i think its not the majority of times. I also don't consider teabagging, pointing and click a flashlight a toxic behaviour - its a type of mindgame that survivors do against killers to provoke and be chased.

Now, post-chat offense, yes, its toxic, and its a problem in this community. People can't understand that its just to go next, they need to rage.

I think most of the "toxic" behaviour in DBD happens after the match ends, with post game chat or messages in personal profiles.

They can and are seen as toxic behavior by many. Everyone is allowed their own perspective. No need to invalidate someone's feelings. OP did not say it's a fact but rather that they feel it's toxic.

Being tunneled for 3.5 hours must be very frustrating, and one must question why continue playing if that's considered acceptable game play. Idk about you, but I play games for fun, and I'd rather endure another EMG and NVC torture test then deal with that junk.

As my mom says when she hears us playing in a sarcastic manner, "your game sounds fun!"

It needs to be unrewarding and 3vs1 needs to become stronger, because doing something so easy should he a free win.

Like I keep saying on this forum, if my 10 year old niece can get 4Ks without tunneling, then that tells me everything I need to know.

  • Can we get an official answer for this please? If it's a bug, when will it be addressed?

I am looking for an official reply.

  • It's temporary so who cares tbh. I remember how frustrating the anniversary event was with killers getting the ability to one shot survivors and make palettes dissappear, but it's over now meh.

  • @BlightedDolphin said:

Killing the survivor is the reward. Anything more would just encourage tunneling.

If anything, killers should be rewarded more for spreading hooks rather than getting someone out of the game straight away.

This. Healthy and non frustrating gameplay should be encouraged and rewarded heavily instead of things like tunneling.

  • @AykDanroyd said:

Yeah I like the gypsy one. They need to put more effort into her. She is the game's 2nd survivor and the 1st female one at that and should be getting more love in my opinion. I've also been waiting forever for some of her old Rift outfits and outfit parts to be available in the store like her Golden Summer outfit:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2JLF0ZCS1LED/image.png

her Alpine Ski Vest (the nicest of all the ski vest variants):

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/M1R9WPPZIGBT/image.png

and her Flash Leather Leggings (probably the nicest of her legging variants):

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/MAWXKS0SYC8T/image.png

And like others have expressed, I'd love for her initial design to end up in an Alternate Universe collection along with Claudette's and the others that were shown:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/32PB1CC5VYJW/image.png

Here are the other outfits that were shown in the original designs of Meg, Dwight, Claudette, Jake & Feng:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WBNXUXPNZ72O/image.png

Anyway, I really want a Christmas Teddy Bear outfit for her though. What I have in mine is a brown teddy bear onesie with a light brown spot in the abdominal area with a Santa hat and a bookbag adorned with Christmas lights. Meg is a kind character who also at times hides her athletic aggression behind her kind/non-threatening exterior as we saw in Tome 4's Eat Dust memories. So I think it would suit her very well and finally give her a very cute outfit that she has long deserved.

Wow i love this. If Meg had that look she'd be my main easily. I like Feng too, she looks classy! And Claudette looks so pretty.

Now that I know what could have been that stinks. Meg was so pretty. She looks like my usual go to character I create when playing an mmo.

  • Yes please, useless perk bloat makes me sad 😭

  • That's how re resistance is and to this day it's by far my favorite asymmetrical survival horror game.

  • I noticed this as well. I can't get them on my 4 p100s...orz.

  • They need to remove the penalty for when the server kicks the bucket.

This should be a given. :(
