Well, BL is definitely stronger, but there are far less drops than there are windows.
So Lithe is better.
If BL gave you reduced stagger even while exhausted, then it would be better.
A bit too good, even.. hence that exact nerf. :)

We use noed because we try to balance the mess that devs left behind with the ruin nerf. It have nothing to do be "insecure" lol... Is about trying to have fun. Try to play from rank 8-1. Its 1 downed survivor, 1 gen that lights. Anyone that calls that balanced don't think straight.
I am rank 1 as Killer every reset, usually within 2-3 days. Same with Survivor, as I play both parts. I don´t know who "we" are based on your comment, and what you are describing is not something I´m familiar with.
-
No, not even close. Most of my killer games are exactly the same length, for reasons I´ve mentioned many times on this forum already. Ruin really, really wasn´t that good.
Keeping items as survivor is exactly the same per match, as it can´t be used without charges. All in all, the item changes for survivors is a nerf, not a buff. Use Hangman´s trick? A branch offering? Slug? On PTB I´ve killed so many survivors by just pretending to pick them up as the others all come running instantly, ridiculously eager to sabo. Usually ends up with them being downed.

It's not so much the Killer as it is the build combined with the experience of the player. The times you face someone playing a Killer perfectly, with an unusual non-meta build, things can get really rough.
If I were to choose from all Killers based on the critera above, it would probably be Hag.

I agree that Hex even before the rework was pretty useless. I was confused when they decided to rework it because they said it was to used and wanted to change things up but left BBQ alone? I mean Rancor is from what I see the same thing. When a gen pops you see survivors and BBQ is when you hook a survivor. Only difference is you get BP for BBQ.
I think they should have maybe moved the BP to Rancor and left all the perks alone at least then they would have got what they wanted and Rancor would be used and not BBQ. It is a dumb idea but just trying to shoot out some ideas.
I didn't mean to argue against or for totem cleansing. I am sorry if I did. I just was trying to say all my games I have teammates that won't cleanse them and just walk right past them and then later when NOED pops cry and run out the gate if they can. I just want one good team where they do a little bit of each thing. lol
No I hear you, I experience the same thing as I usually play solo. I bring Kindred every game to try and control it as much as possible, and cleanse totems myself to even things out. It's really all you can do, as ranks are no longer any indication of a player being skilled at all, unfortunately.
-
It's an online, asymmetrical game. Considering how communities are in symmetrical games in general, it's no surprise that a game designed this way gives birth to opinionated, entitled behaviour due to lack of perspective.
The game is alive (very much so), no matter what people say here (or anywhere else on social media, really). It's also really good, even though it surely has some issues with balance and some technical aspects. Then again, most (all) games do.

I think a lot of insecure Killers use NOED out of anger after the Ruin nerf. It really doesn't make sense as it's two completely different perks, though. I also find it ironic in intself, as Ruin really wasn't as effective as a lot of people say. As always, on red ranks it depended largely on what group you faced. If it was a well-organised SWF, Ruin would either be ignored or cleansed within the first minute - basically rendering it useless anyway. Against poor teams you would have won anyway.
The same goes for your argument with totem cleansing. Against good teams, the totems will be cleansed (or the match won't even get to the collapse).
-
I stopped going for them as the achievement in itself is poorly designed, and as I am usually rank 1 a day or two after reset it´s too much of a hassle to get them in the game´s current state.
I do have Nurse, Spirit, Legion, Plague, Myers, Wraith, Freddy and Hag.
-
Amusing. I still think surprising people with Blood Warden is even more fun, though.
-
I was at 44 yesterday when level 3 opened. I can't remember if that is faster or slower than last time, but feels about the same.
-
I´m kind of hyped for these changes too, for both Killers and Survivors. On paper, it seems like steps in the right direction. Just gonna have to try and filter through all the negativity based on speculation and hope for the best, haha.

Giving the survivors more paths to run and escape.
Hmmm. Prolly not a killer buff.
It´s just to be tested on the new map though. The note implies they will add it to other maps later on as well.

I don't think DbD is especially toxic compared to any other online game. They're all bad. However, what probably contributes a lot to a stronger feeling of hostility in this game is the fact that it's asymmetrical and a lot of people only play one side.
I don't think it's a coincidence that all the nice people I've met playing this game are the ones with about equal experience from both sides. It's common sense really, as it gives you more perspective.

Only bad survivors use it. Bring a medkit.
This, always. Wasting a perk slot for self-care isn't worth it. I'm almost always capped for BP anyway, so getting more med-kits is never a problem. Self-care is slow, almost unbearable with Sloppy Butcher (which a lot of good Killers use these days).
-
NOED? Meta? Surely you jest. Why would I rely on something I cannot use for the majority of a match, when most of my games never reach the end-game collapse anyway, except when I close the hatch myself? And even if I do sometimes end up there, the totem will probably already have been cleansed. NOED isn't OP, it's complete garbage. Even the challenge in Tome 1 where you had to sacrifice two survivors with it was actually frustrating to complete, as I felt I needed to play worse to let it end up that way.
-
It depends a bit. Hawkins can be pretty dreadful as Nurse, but other than that it´s a cool-looking, enjoyable map. It took a while getting used to it, but now I find it popping up way too rarely.

I dont care which characters you play. It's a risky lategame perk and easy yo counter. Grow up and focus getting better instead of whining about perks or flashlights.
I wish i could get flashlight clickers every game. At least they are following me instead of doing gens. I can deal with it.
Yes. I really don´t get why peole are even bothered with them. If anything, clickers mostly just waste time, and if you´re dumb enough to go after them then it´s really your own fault. Let them click, who cares?
Every thread like this just makes me lose faith in the community, really. So much whining about pointless stuff that really isn´t that much of an issue - or an issue at all. There are technical things in the mere design of this game that should be adressed, definitely, but this forum overflows with people basically just crying over not winning for free. On that note, a player just sperged an all caps death threat at a killer using Blood Warden in one of my games. It´s sunday, everyone.
-
What other killers do you have? None of them really have good baseline perks combined with their power, in my opinion.
BBQ & Chilli (Leatherface), Corrupt Intervention (Plague), Discordance (Legion) and Pop goes the weasel (Clown) are really good no matter which killer you play, really.
-
I hardly think this is an unfair thing. With that logic, why should Killers be able to see what you are holding in your hands while in the match?

Can we not attach such serious things like PTSD to DBD?
You're not getting PTSD, you're getting upset because things aren't going your way, nothing in DBD is traumatic, stop.
Was gonna post something like this as well. I mean, come on... it is nothing but a game. Even if you take it seriously, which is fine, even suggesting one would get PTSD from an online game where you always have the opportunity to just click everything away is just too much.
On that note, who even reads post game chat as Killer?
-
On free days when I don't have any plans, it's not rare for me to pull off at least 10-12 hour sessions.
-
It's just a visual bug. Closing and re-opening the game should fix it. It has been reset, it just doesn't show.
-
It does not sound like they were very altruistic, more like they were farming you.
-
I think it's 100% positive they re-enabled it. However, like many have stated before, the penalty time should be heavily increased. I realize the idea is to "cool off" before you jump into your next game, but somehow I doubt that's what most of us want from it.
Personally, I want the whole thing to PREVENT people from disconnecting in the first place (and five minutes isn't going to cut it here; even with the exponential increase, it's not enough.). Isn't that the whole point of this concept, as a disconnect pretty much ruins the game for everyone else?
On another note, how does the implementation of this system affect the fact that disconnecting from a game is a bannable offense? Looking at the motivation for the re-implementation from the developers, it sort of seems like disconnecting (for any reason) is okay, as long as you don't do it too much.

Devotion 6, level 53.
I genuinely hope the devotion stages reward something in the future. It'd be a neat bonus. It doesn't have to be anything major.

It really is quite bad right now. Gen times, map size, map strength, strength of perks, matchmaking, emblem system, and lack of game breaking bugs are all in survivor favor.
I think region plays a big part in the challenge of this game. Where I am, the survivors are just too good. Bhvr doesn't see a problem because they don't encounter these types on a daily basis.
What region are you in? I have no experience from any other region than mine (EU on PC), but from what I've gathered it seems to be about the same everywhere... I just don't see how it would differ that much.
-
I don't know, I seem to be part of the minority who actually think getting to rank 1 as Killer is easier after the ruin nerf. Mainly I think this is because I've had to switch up my playstyle.
Previously against strong SWF teams, ruin would either be completely ignored or instantly cleansed, which more or less made it useless. Against weak teams, I would have killed everyone either way (and rather quickly), so the perk was still kind of pointless.
I don't know, after the recent changes I've just started playing a bit differently. More mind games, almost no 1v1, sometimes completely filtering out survivors I actually see on screen and instead focusing on gen status. It actually works out pretty well, and I usually end up with a 4k.
Side note: Yes, the game still suffers from, sometimes heavy, balance issues (matchmaking is terrible, for instance), but it's not nearly as bad as a lot of people in the community claims.
-
First and foremost, I like this idea because it would add variety to the game on the survivor side. As it is now, after hundreds or thousands of hours played - all survivors are basically the same when you've gotten all teachables. It just comes down to pure cosmetics; you play the one you think is the most appealing to you aesthetically.
The problem, though, would be how to balance this idea with the game's current perks and the meta in general. Combine the right perks with the right personal trait and you could build powerhouses way too strong for the game (that is already suffering from heavy balance issues).
