Cause devs promote to have an annoying gameplay. Otherwise you cannot explain how tunneling, camping and slugging goes on for 5 years, while every day people explain how these flaws completely overthrow the intended gameplay.

The 'intended gameplay' is that Killers try to kill while Survivors try to escape.

So tell me; how is slugging, tunneling, or camping not 'intended gameplay'? I mean, other than 'Because Survivors don't like it.'

  • You...Ask about slugging but your story is about sandbagging and working with the Killer?

What? What does the story have to do with slugging which, by the way, is a valid tactic.

He honestly need something cuz my god the nerf that he got was brutal, in my opinion.

Granted, I am glad that forever freedy is gone but at least give him better add-ons than increase regression when someone miss a skill checks, stepping on a snare to give them blindness for example. But Jump Rope being the worst since most survivors have Iron Will, in my opinion.

I honestly don't like addons and perks that punish missed skillchecks. They unfairly punish new players and old players never miss. They are horrible things that are either 100% useless or newbie bullying. No middle ground.

Well, he may be the only one it happens to, but surely that's because he's the only killer whose power directly interacts with generators? It makes sense that a power like that would be hampered by losing access to it as the game progresses, that isn't inherently bad design on its face.

The problem comes not from him having that unique gimmick, but that the rest of his kit isn't universally useful enough to make up for gradually losing access to the teleport. I could see a world where he gets more teleport spots in the endgame too, but I'd seriously sooner see the rest of his kit made the primary focus and the teleport be a nice, but unreliable, side benefit- kinda like Demogorgon and his portals, they're nice but they're not even close to his biggest strength.

    Fair enough.

What about something like...Freddy moves faster for the number of asleep Survivors, and this movement bonus-per-Survivor increases as gens are done?

It would encourage Survivors to stay awake, even in the end game, and encourage Freddy to spread out his hooks, as he gets a bigger bonus with the more asleep Survivors there are. If someone is dead; they are not asleep. But at the same time; the bonus increases with the number of gens completed, which also helps balance killing Survivors, and gives him a large catch-up boost if all 4 are alive & asleep after 5 gens pop.

But it ONLY affects movement speed when NOT carrying a Survivor. Not any other action (there are perks for that), and not Survivor-carrying (There's a perk for that).

  • @jesterkind said:

I absolutely agree that Freddy's power needs updating and he's in a sorry state, but I'm not sure I agree this is what he needs.

To me, this aspect of his power would be fine if the other parts of his kit actually made up for it, but they simply don't. I'd sooner look to boost the Dream World and associated aspects of it so that if he gets to a no-gens-left scenario, he at least has something going for him. I've made a thread before about what I think that'd look like, but the short version is; basekit snares and pallets, and addons that give more fake objects in general.

I think it's okay that he loses some efficacy in the endgame, but his power shouldn't be "he teleports and sometimes you'll get a minor slowdown", there should be more to him at all stages in the match.

I disagree. No Killer should LOSE power in the end-game. That's just garbage game design. 'Hey! The match is nearly over! Allow me to gimp you so the other side has an easier time winning! πŸ™ƒ'

I'm sorry but that's just, at a base level, horrible game design. You don't see the losing team in MOBAs suddenly lose power or movement speed. The losing team in an FPS does not have their weapons taken away.

On top of that; the Killer has not lost because 5 gens pop, so WHY does Freddy lose power at this stage? The fact that he's the ONLY ONE this happens too just screams it's not well thought out at all.

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

They should just reverse all his basekit nerfs.

the only problem with Oldish freddy was hit forever slowdown addons

Old Freddy was garbage, IMO. I cannot tell you the number of times Survivors unhooked in my face, or popped a gen in my face, while I waited for them to fall asleep so I could hit them.

But he was more unique and, as you said; the only real problem was Forever Freddy.

  • Survivors claim 'Holding M1 is boring' and 'We need another objective'. But when perks like NoED and characters like Pinhead add a second objective? 'OP/unfair/boring/unfun. Plz remove!' because they don't want to stop holding M1 or they might lose. 😁

  • I am chill. It's the babies who DC who takes the game too seriously; they would rather ruin it for 4 strangers than accept a loss.

That just screams 'Should not be playing at all' to me.

Not to mention being verbally trashed in game because 'Boo-hoo, bruised Survivor egos over camping/tunneling/slugging/my Killer/my perks' gets really old, really fast.

  • @Notretsam said:

I'm just going make one more blanket post to cover the complaints and excuses that people will make in this thread, even though they know I'm right that tunnelling and camping aren't fun for the survivor you do it to.

    Do the following

    1) Borrowed time base kit and perk will stack together, and increasing it from 12 seconds to 24 seconds, disable both in the end game

    2) proximity to hook penalty is tripled

    3) deduction of blood points if you hook the same survivor twice in a row if there are 3/4 survivors in the match

    This achieves the following thing

    1) It removes tunnelling from the game which is one reason why new players leave, I had 2 friends leave because of this and is 1 new player who posted in the thread.

    2) It gives BHVR accurate kill stats that they can use to make balancing changes to help the killer's chances of getting kills, as right now it is difficult as the game is heavy survivor friendly.

    3) You become a better and more skilful killer as there is no skill in camping and tunnelling

    4) In the end game, you don't have to deal with borrowed time anymore or the unfair proximity to the hook penalty

    To cover excuses for tunnelling/camping

    1) I play killer as well and have both legendary killer and survivor achievements but sure call me entitled all you want.

    2) Most horror movies on which this game is based, don't have the killer killing everyone, so no, 4k and killers winning shouldn't be a thing, the fun is about trying.

    3) The changes I suggest only prevent you from tunnelling the survivor on the hook, you can still chase the survivor who unhooked and snowball

    4) Yes, I realize the game is heavily survivor sided right now, but that is no excuse to put your own need for what you perceive to be a win ahead of the fun of other players, it's selfish to do so

    5) Yes, survivors can play in a cheap way and something needs to be done about that as well, but a killer can play around that for the most part.

    6) This isn't just my opinion, its a fact that many players agree with for longer than I played DBD

Now I leave y'all to it but finally, you know I'm right about tunnelling/camping

Borrowed time base kit and perk will stack together, and increasing it from 12 seconds to 24 seconds, disable both in the end game

    24 seconds BT? Hell no!

proximity to hook penalty is tripled

Ah, so 'spite the Killer for breaking my Survivor-made rules' huh?

deduction of blood points if you hook the same survivor twice in a row if there are 3/4 survivors in the match

Rofl. No. Just because you don't like tunneling does not mean Killers should lose BP so you can be happy they got punished. Horrible idea. Yet more 'Punish Killers for breaking my rules' biased takes.

Most horror movies on which this game is based, don't have the killer killing everyone, so no, 4k and killers winning shouldn't be a thing, the fun is about trying.

'I'm totally a Killer player but Killers should never win!' Good lord.

but finally, you know I'm right about tunnelling/camping

No, you're not. And your ideas are spiteful, biased, and screw over Killers for playing in a way you, personally, don't like. They are horrible and should never be implemented, or every remaining Killer would leave the game in protest.

You saying 'I'm right because I said so' does not actually make you right.

Bottom line: Tunneling and camping are accepted. May want to accept it instead of creating horrible mechanics meant to kick Killers in the mouth because you don't like losing.

    CoH rework

    Corrupted Boon: Circle Of Healing

A Boon that offers comfort amidst the terror.

    • Press and hold the Ability button near a Dull or Hex Totem to bless it and create a Boon Totem.
    • Soft chimes ring out in a 24 Meter Radius
    • Survivors within the Boon's Radius have their heal speeds increased by 50%/75%/100% and are able to heal themselves without a Medkit
    • If the Boon Totem is snuffed, it turns into a Rekindled Totem with the same Radius
    • Survivors healing in the Rekindled Totem's Radius will have their heal speeds decreased by 40%/45%/50%

It's a neat idea but a few things:

    1. Can it be Cleansed or turned into a Boon again?
    2. Survivors would just not heal there. Granted; this could turn into a problem for them if they boon across the map, which I like.
  • @Deathstroke said:

Well simply because it's rewards playing badly. And if the exposed status is not enough it also gives movement speed increase. I have went AFK whole match before all gens were done and killed everyone so it's overpowered but well survivors also has second chanse perks. Well ds was reworked thought and requires skill to use so maybe somekind of rework could be done to noed as well. Good survivors will cleanse it immediatelly thought so it's high risk high reward but still quarantees almost always 1-2 kills.

Well simply because it's rewards playing badly.

Again; this is BS. How come a Killer planning for the end game is 'playing badly'? Who decided that? Survivors; the salty people who have every reason to want the perk changed so they can ignore it.

It's a view that originated from a biased mindset that half the community decided to embrace as truth. But it's wrong. 5 gens popping means N O T H I N G. Not 'failure'. Not 'playing badly'. Not 'basically winning/losing'. Not whatever else BS people want to invent.

  • @Valik said:

I think the only issue with the perk is that it feels FREE.

The killer does not need to play around the perk, earn it, or play around it.

Perks like Save The Best For Last can give a good buff - but command a player's playstyle.

Pop Goes The Weasel and Pain Resonance are good perks, but killers must be intentional to make sure these perks find use.

Even strong Hex perks like Ruin and Devour can be cleansed at points in the match.

NOED is completely free and a total surprise.

It does not reward bad killer behavior because it is incapable of rewarding at all. It has no stylings to reward. It is just a free insta-down perk.

Not saying that it's bad or OP. I think it can be looked at to make it more grounded.

However, I feel that survivors find the perk unreasonable in its 'counter'. They just seem to think that the payoff is equal to the 0 cost nature that the perk holds.

It's not 'free' and it's not '0 cost'.

The perk, literally, requires Survivor input. Survivors should LOVE NoED because it's a Killer perk THEY 100% CONTROL.

But Survivors don't know what they want; They hate mindlessly holding M1 on a generator. NoED makes them do bones instead. 'Nooooooo! I want to just hold M1 on a generator!'

    Survivors decide if NoED procs.

Survivors decide if NoED stays up if it happens to proc.

Survivors decide to stay in a match with NoED instead of leaving through the gates (because they want that hook save).

NoED is literally a Survivor-controlled perk, but they are too lazy to do bones. So instead, they whine it's 'free' and 'no skill'. They invent fake rules like 'basically lost because 5 gens popped'.

Because they whine 'Mindlessly holding M1 is boring', then mald when things like NoED are created to give them an objective that takes them off gens.

But it is not free or 0 cost. It's just Survivor input that they refuse to do, then cry that they got punished for ignoring it.

  • Wrong. Tunneling and camping are a way for Killers to apply pressure. Survivors need to accept that they can happen when a Killer deems it proper to knock someone out of the match.

All complaining about tunneling & camping is is 'I'm salty I lost, and I will blame cheap tactics to avoid admitting any mistakes I made'.

Half of your posts are about .. survs don’t win yet when 5 gens are done. And same happens when surv do 3 gen at first hook

Again; pointing out that 3/6ths (1/2; 5 gens + exit gate) of the Survivor's objectives pop in the FIRST CHASE out of at least 4 is not making up fake rules.

Commenting 'gens go too fast' is an opinion on gen speeds. I am not, in any way, saying either side won or lost.

Saying 'This is OP because 5 gens popping is basically losing' is trying to create a fake rule and enforce it.

But all your own posts are so Survivor-sided that it's clear you're unable to ever see anything from the Killer point of view. I now remember I stopped talking to you because you were unwilling to ever see anything in this game other than 'Survivors need buffs because they deserve it, and Killers are OP forever.'

So I'll resume not replying to you. Good day.

  • No offense to BHVR but they could not even make more than 2 zombies work for Nemesis (and thus, he's horrible, because his power was meant to have more zombies helping).

You really want them to do another NPC-based Killer power?

  • @dictep said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2914226#Comment_2914226

Well, killers say it’s not ok when 3 gens get finished when you hook the first Surv.

Your point? The whataboutism does not work here.

Killers are stating they have very little time to attempt their objective, and have to play 'sweaty' and get insulted by angry babies. Survivors are stating Killers have lost because 5 gens popped, and game balance should change to fit their made-up rule.

These things are not the same. So you want to try again?

  • @Tiufal said:

NOED isnt a second chance perk. Its a gamechanger for doing abolutely nothing. The game is designed around survivor having second-chance perks. If people dont understand this after 5 years, its kinda embarassing for you guys.

And you're saying DH is not a gamechanger when it lets you loop the kilelr for another 30 seconds & 3 gens pop?

Or D.Strike when you're near an open exit gate?

Changing the definition does not change the facts. And nothing in the game states Killers cannot have a second chance perk. Nor do Survivors get to decide what's fair for Killers to have.

If people don't understand this after 5 years, its kinda embarrassing for you guys.

    lolz, on the hook

Yep! Survivors bring 16 second-chance perks per match, and Killers need to 'git gud'.

But Killers bring NoED for a second chance after 5 gens pop? No! Killers already lost! It rewards failing! It's crutch! Survivors already won because they say so! Doing bones is impossible (But we can sure as heck Boon totems 40 times a match!)! It's unfun! Unhealthy, even! πŸ˜‚

because it's very rewarding and takes no skill

Wrong. It requires Survivor skill to cleanse it. They tend to gloss over this to blame the Killer instead.

  • Stealth Killers do not work when Survivors can be in a voice-chat hive-mind. One Survivor sees you; the entire hive-mind knows. No more stealth.

Since BHVR can't remove SWF, they need to stop making Killers that are literally negated by it.

  • I disagree. This would prevent Killers from EVER standing still for any reason, including any mindgaming they may be doing.

Also; a Killer could hook someone, stand still, and start neagting the slowdown of the Survivor they are camping.

'I bought it!!' is not a valid excuse when your actions are ruining the game for others via breaking the rules. (IE: DCing and hacking are not allowed. But 'You are ruining my fun!' is not a valid excuse for VALID things, like running perks or using allowed tactics like camping, tu nneling, slugging, or t-bagging.)

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2914232#Comment_2914232

    Ok.

Because this "idea" came up multiple times on the Forum already. And it is funny, because people defend NOED the same way "The game is not over when 5 Gens are done", but then sometimes the same people want to disable BT or DS in Endgame, because the Killer can only camp and tunnel at this point.

However, my opinion will most likely not change. I dont think that the game is over when 5 Gens are done, however, NOED is badly designed because the Killer will get it regardless of their own performance. They can get 0 Hooks or 8 Hooks, they get a value out of NOED. No Way Out is a well-designed Endgame Perk, it gives value based on how good the Killer did during the game. A bad Killer will most likely not get the maximum value out of No Way Out. But they get the same value out of NOED like a good Killer.

Let alone a camping Killer - it is impossible to do 5 Gens AND cleanse 5 Totems while one person is camped on the Hook. It is probably not even possible to do 5 Gens if they get camped early on.

IMO NOED should be changed into a Perk which gains Tokens based on how many Hooks the Killer got during the game. And then gives a Buff based on the number of Tokens. Plus, remove the Hex-Status so that it keeps being active during the Endgame.

This would be a far better solution. A Killer who did well will get a huge benefit from it during Endgame. A Killer who did poorly will not get that much of a benefit and a Camper almost nothing (because they only have one Hook).

But I doubt that NOED will ever be changed to something like this.

I...actually like that change. Token-based and not a hex.

There is just one problem; The threat of NoED is what makes Survivors get off gens & do bones. Without it, gens will get that much faster, since Survivors now can't stop it, and the only other Hex perk worth cleansing is Ruin, which is obvious when it's in play.

No NoED & no Ruin? Pound those gens ASAP and leave. Giving Killers even less time to get people, in a meta where they usually only have 6-7 minutes as it is.

The bottom line is, with gen speeds as they are; SOMETHING has to be an omnipresent, unknown threat to make Survivors stop gens for 30 seconds & move around.

That is why I'm against NoED changes. It's not, specifically, it's power that I like. It's that it's power forces Survivors off of gens, or punishes them when they don't. If that makes sense? It's the effect that it causes by existing that is a band-aid fix to gen speeds.

Remove that fix, and gens will drop to 4-5 minutes before Survivors are dancing out the gates.

And, if a Killer is so 'bad' that they need NoED (as Survivors claim is the case); he can't defend bones & camp. He can't defend all bones. He won't be able to defend NoED when it procs while camping (unless he gets insanely luck & hooks a Survivor next to that totem).

Survivors can be in 4 places at once. Do 4 different things. A Killer cannot.

(Which is, incidentally, the reason why CoH is OP, IMO. It's not the heal speed; it's how Survivors can Boon & do generators. Heal & do gens. Reboon & do gens. Whereas a Killer can't Snuff & chase. He can't Boon hunt & patrol gens. But that's a discussion for another thread.)

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2914226#Comment_2914226

Just a question - are you one of those guys who say that BT or DS should be disabled once 5 Gens are done?

I have never even had that notion enter my head, never mind say it. In fact; I have never seen anyone say it before.

No sarcasm, no joking; I have never heard that notion until you asked it right now.

But thinking on it; If a survivor keeps his DS until the end game or once gates are open; they deserve that escape. The perk did something incredibly niche, or the Killer misplayed, or the Survivor avoided being tunneled. All 3 are valid reasons to have DS work in the end game.

For BT? Eh? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ If the game plays out so BT gets use in the end game; then the Killer did not play right to prevent it form happening, or the Survivors out-played him. It might feel a bit frustrating, sure, but perks are there to impact the game. And that means the whole game; from the first second to the last second before Survivors step out the game/the last Survivor is killed.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2914121#Comment_2914121

Again, it does not make sense to compare the amount of second chance Perks at all. The roles play differently. Survivors have far less Perks which can affect Gen Speed, but that does not mean that they should have more Perks.

It can be fine if Killers have second-chance Perks - IF they are well-designed. NOED is not well-designed, not even a little bit. Only a small amount of players would complain about NOED if it would be a Perk which rewards good Killer players and not the Perk which grants you a Kill for sucking all game.

See, you have to change your mindset. The Killer did not 'suck' to have 5 gens pop. This is BS.

Think of this: Survivors say Killers 'sweat' if they kill with 5 gens to go. Survivors say Killers 'suck' if all 5 gens pop. Both are excuses as to why the Killer should not get kills at that time.

So, according to Survivors; Killers have to wait until 1 gen pops (and it's very frequently 2-3 at the first pop) but stop using perks that help after 5 gens pop?

Let me ask a better question; Why. The hell. Are Survivors deciding if they OPPONENT deserves kills, or dictating WHEN their opponent gets kills? What makes Survivors think they can chose when their opponent wins, or how?

Stop thinking 'NoED rewards sucking' because that's wrong. Literally just factually incorrect. 5 gens is just step 5 out of 6 for leaving. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's not a cut-off point for Killer skill.

It's not 'basically winning' or losing.

Killers have not 'basically failed' if 5 gens pop.

There is nothing special or holy about the 5th gen popping. Nothing that makes it a cut-off point for skill or kills.

Try to get those notions out of your head, because all they are are fake flaws and incorrect excuses to blame NoED for Survivors too lazy to do bones. Sorry, but that is the truth.

  • @dictep said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2914033#Comment_2914033

My point is sbmm put a very bad killer against a surv with 4.700 more hours than him only because he gets free kills with noed

Say it with me 'NoED does not give "free kills". Just because Survivors whine, does not mean they change objective reality to conform to their delusions'.

    Does NoED insta-kill Survivors? No.

Does it put them on hooks? No.

Does it prevent or bypass hook phases? No.

So where does 'free kills' come from? Other than whiny Survivors inventing fake flaws to demand the perk be changed due to their delusions, I mean.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

"doing Bones" is still not a good counter at all against a Perk which makes a lot of loops laughable and gives an Instadown for a Killer who might have not achieved anything during the game (or was just camping the first Survivor they found).

If you spend time searching and cleansing 5 Totems, you might not even reach Endgame, which makes it obsolete whether the Killer has NOED or not.

If you spend time searching and cleansing 5 Totems, you might not even reach Endgame, which makes it obsolete whether the Killer has NOED or not.

    Literally the point of NoED.

If NoED gave away it existed; Survivors would either always cleanse bones (and thus it would never proc), or slam gens when it's not in play.

I think you're wrong with saying, that nurse takes the most mechanical skill in DBD of any killer. IMO it's blight. I play both Killers and as a blight player you need to learn EVERY object, tile and killer shack all over again (even in different versions of the same map), because some of them are slippery (which is good for Scoot Surfs etc) and some are not.

With Nurse, you just have to learn how your blinks work and how to time them correctly. After that, it's only a matter of time until you can read each type of Survivor. At this point Nurse Gameplay becomes a simple mindgame.

This does NOT mean Nurse is easy to play. OFC Nurse is hard to master but Blight is way, wayyyy harder to master than Nurse.

I'm getting 3500-6000k hours Survivor Teams with Nurse and slightly less experienced Survivors with blight. Just for reference.

Fair enough. Blight takes the most, but Nurse is a close second.

Those two killers have the biggest skill requirement, but also reward the hours put into them. Which some Survivors seem to be claiming is the reason to nerf them, I guess?

  • @Veinslay said:

All the base perks for new killer players are trash why wouldn't you use NOED if you're brand new lol. It's okay for the killer player to have ONE second chance perk. It's not the end of the world. Survivors have a billion 2nd chance perks

But don't you know? Survivors get 16 second-chance perks per match. Killers can't even have one. 😏

Also; Survivors claim 'just do bones' is not fair, but they can re-boon CoH 500 times a match without complaint. πŸ™ƒ

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Survivors think they won the game once 5 Generators have been finished, which is wrong

☝️ This. Many Survivor's excuse for NoED is 'Survivors basically won once 5 gens pop' or 'The Killer has mostly lost once 5 gens pop.'

What those comments ignore, or fail to realize, is that the game, literally, is not over until every Survivor has left the map. Be it hooks, moris, exit gates, or hatch; until a Survivor has been removed via one of these; they are still open to be killed.

It is not 'pity kills'. It is not 'cheap'. The Survivors DO NOT WIN until they walk out the gates or jump in the hatch. There is no Survivor win-state for popping that 5th gen. Nor is there a Killer lose-state for the same.

The argument is nothing but Survivors inventing a rule and then thinking that rule supersedes how the game works, and then getting angry when Killers, and the game, don't comply.

Yes please, even after 1 minute. Having to bleed out from full health while the rest of the team is on hook while the killer stands over you is really boring.

Only if everyone else is slugged, hooked, or dead, IMO.

We don't need yet another mechanic Survivors can use to self-terminate ASAP to give their friend the hatch. If they could not do this on the hook; Killers would not have to slug for the 4K.

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

Well the fact the killer has to slug to avoid the last survivor getting a free and often undeserved escape is due to an entirely survivor sided mechanic - the hatch.

The hatch is of no benefit whatsoever to killers, it is there only to give survivors another option to escape. As a survivor main I hate the hatch and want it removed for the exact reason it forces the killer to slug and being slugged for minutes at a time while the killer tries to find the last survivor is not fun. I don't blame killers for doing it, I blame the hatch mechanic

While you are completely correct; the game would be worse without the hatch.

The hatch forces the Survivor to move around and look for it. Without it, a Survivor would just immerse and hide for 40 minutes while the Killer tries to find them. After all, without the hatch, they can't do gens, and they can't open the gates.

I guess an alternative would be that the gates power up when 1 Survivor is left, but depending on the map & Killer; that would either be a guaranteed escape or just a slow death. And not fair for the Killer, since he stopped 3/4 of the team before 5 gens popped, only for them to pop anyways.

Yes, killers can’t camp a surv at egc to have a pity kill after losing. Oh, wait!

Once again; Survivors have not won until they LEAVE THE MAP.

    5 gens? Not winning.

    Open gates? Not winning.

IF A SURVIVOR IS STILL ON THE MAP; THE KILL IS LEGIT AND VALID.

Ergo: A Killer killing you AT ANY TIME is not a 'pity kill' just because Survivors want to invent unenforceable win-states.

If you can't handle people just removing themself from something they don't like then you should quit as well because as there is the option to D/C its is also part of the game regardless if it is abused or not it is part of the game. Excuses don't matter if someone doesn't want to lay on the ground for four minutes because you feel you need to ruin their day then they have the option through the game to click the exit button and leave. You argument that these are part of the game is dumb because so is D/Cing. I am not advocating for D/C just saying if you ruin someone else experience they can do the same to you. Cry till the river is made but trash play creates trash play on both sides. No one wants to D/C if they really wanted to play but being a slug cause of a jerk isn't fun and they owe the game nothing if they feel their time is worth more than this they can leave.

If you can't handle people just removing themself from something they don't like then you should quit as well because as there is the option to D/C its is also part of the game regardless if it is abused or not it is part of the game

    Wrong. DCing exists for EMERGENCIES.

Excuses don't matter if someone doesn't want to lay on the ground for four minutes because you feel you need to ruin their day then they have the option through the game to click the exit button and leave

Wrong again. This is where Survivors flail and acts like Killers are evil by attributing their own perceived notions of toxicity onto their actions.

If I slug; it's because I want a 4K. I'm not trying to ruin someone's day. And it's not my fault that a Survivor wants to use that as an excuse to shove fake emotions onto me to excuse the DC they want to do for sore-looserism.

You argument that these are part of the game is dumb because so is D/Cing

Wrong again. Slugging, tunneling, camping, loops, etc. ARE MECHANICS.

DCing is meant to be for emergencies. Not 'I'm butthurt I lost. Time to blame the Killer for my actions!'

I am not advocating for D/C just saying if you ruin someone else experience they can do the same to you.

Once again; attributing toxicity to a legit mechanic is BS.

    No one wants to D/C

Rofl. If someone wants to DC; they want to DC. They are just looking for an excuse.

being a slug cause of a jerk isn't fun and they owe the game nothing if they feel their time is worth more than this they can leave

Once again; attributing your own notions as to why someone slugged, then using it as an excuse for DC.

No, they can't DCing is against the rules. Slugging is not. See the difference? If you start inventing garbage excuses to let people DC; they will use those garbage excuses every time they start to lose. DCers DC regardless, and slugging is not 'done by jerks to ruin peoples games'.

This is BS done to shame Killers into not going for 4Ks. 'Be happy with the 3K' and 'Slugging is for jerks'. Etc. Stop. It. Slugging is not against the rules. DCing is. Stop inventing excuses.

  • Nope, nope offense.

I did it because a mod removed your post (as far as I am aware), and it would have been in poor taste (and possibly against the rules?) to reply to it. Plus, I did not want to stir drama with what the content of your post was.

The thing is; slugging is part of the game. The Killer has every right to go for a 4K, and Survivors don't get to decide 'This is an OK time to DC because I don't like this'.

If a person can't handle ALL ASPECTS of a game (slugging, loops, pallets, tunneling, camping) and use them as a BS excuse to DC; they should just not play until they mature.

You literally just highlighted the issue for solo players which is most of the player base?

im convinced some killer mains here have a god complex, I like playing killer but I know after using blood warden and NOED how easy we truly have it and I’ve played solo q enough to see how bad it gets, I do feel for them after working so hard.

I don’t think there should be any perks altering the end game for any sides in fairness.

Survivors: Killers have a god complex.

Also Survivors: Killers should not be able to slug & win. We deserve to get back up for free. Also; bring back old hatch.

Also Survivors Again: Killers also should not be sweaty; don't win at 5 gens. This is not fun for Survivors. Give us a chance to win. No, this does not work in reverse; we don't have to give you hooks.

Yet More Survivors: Oh! But we already won if all 5 gens pop, so any perks that work after this are bad. Exit gates are a formality.

You Guessed It; More Survivors: Also, don't tunnel. Or camp. Make sure you spread out your hooks. Devs; the Killer meta is boring for Survivors; please nerf. But Survivor meta is also boring; give us better perks.

Just saying; I see more Survivors demanding how Killers should play than I do Killers. So who has the real god complex?

Yet killers get NOED and blood warden, definitely some balancing issues

Because 5 gens popping is not losing. Funny, that.

Oh, so killers deserve a pity 4k after camping and tunneling out one survivor at a time, applying 0 pressure to gens, until two survivors have been sacrificed, and then slugging the 3rd until they find the 4th..?

How is it a 'pity kill' for the Killer...doing his goal of killing people?

Man, Survivors really will blame a Killer for winning, huh?

I'm not ignoring anything. You are ignoring a huge time sink in boons and why people are realizing that and not using them as much. I have calculated from several trials that I can have a gen finished before I can find a totem and bless it. And watching a killer walk right by it and disable it is ridiculous. Why should I waste all that time when I can bring self-care?

It doesn't pay for itself. It is a net loss. If the killer steps on it, survivor is further in the red.

I am sorry but you are wrong:

1 Survivor spends 30-45 seconds booning a totem. In that time; 3 other Survivors are doing gens.

Now, 2 Survivors get hit, but the Killer drops chases to kick gens that are near to popping. Those 2 Survivor run to the Boon and heal. Between them, it took them just as long to heal BOTH as it would have to heal ONE without the boon.

In those 2 heals; the boon has now paid for the time that went in to placing it. It's, literally, now showing a net positive for time on Survivor's end. They have no longer wasted time, since they spent LESS time placing the boon & using it twice, than they would have healing without it.

It's only a net loss, ONLY, if the Killer finds it before it can be used. If it gets used twice; it's a net gain for time; less time spent healing.

You being unable to see that, or you ignoring that, does not change that fact.

And if the Killer spends 15 seconds finding, and stepping on, it, and then a Survivor re-boons? Kilelr has lost time away from gens & chases.

Whereas that ONE Survivor is replacing a NET GAIN for time, while the other 3 continue to work on gens uninterrupted by the Killer, because he was stepping on a Boon that got replaced 5 seconds later.

I'm sorry but your arguments are false. They are baseless nay saying with no evidence to back them up. It's a bald fact that the problem with CoH lies in how it is infinitely replaceable. And Killers lose if they Snuff it (time) or lose if they ignore it (fast heals rewarding Survivors with less time spend healing).

Again; your argument is false and baseless. You're basically saying 'Survivors lose because I said so' with 0 evidence to back it up.

  • So knowing Nurse takes the most mechanical skill and the longest to learn, you think that's the reason to nerf her?

Because, mechanically, she has the best reward for the time put in to learn her?

That's a hard no from me.

    G'Day Everyone,

Hope we are all well and most importantly safe. I had an interesting game on stream that I'd like to share with you all. I was using Sadako at Lerys and kept them at 5 Gens (I'm still surprised I managed that best game I've ever played I think lol) Didn't Tunnel, Didn't Camp as I hate that playstyle I like to play a game the way I myself would like to be treated.

We get to death hook stage to which I had 3 DC'S and only one who accepted death hook. Now end game chat we get to the spice on my Killer Hook I have 2 Sadako Charms and Pride Charm, A individual take its upon themselves to say the following.

I noticed you had a Pride Charm just wanted to know if your Trans or Gay. Either way your parents don't love you.

Now why I bring this up I can handle trash talk but this is absolute appalling behavior! I reported the individual on both Steam and via In game, Please don't be like this person games are meant to be enjoyable and fun for goodness sake. We make mistakes and get frustrated yes that's normal hell I'm guilty of that lol. But I never take it out on others at the end of the day I guess I'm trying to say is think before you act, Your words and actions have meaning if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything.

Stay safe everyone and have fun

I'll see you all out in the fog.

People who say things like that tend to be sad people who are too toxic to have real friends. Usually, their circle of 'friends' is a group of toxic people who always try to hurt the others in the group so they can feel better about their bitter, empty lives.

Since they tend to be the ragdoll of their 'friend' group; they take their vile personalities online, where no one can easily punish them for the sewage that dribbles from their mouths.

And for bonus irony: They are usually the ones who believe 'It's not my fault if you get offended' when they say offensive things or 'Everyone is a snowflake' if they get punished for their very anti-social behavior.

They frequently demand that people should be allowed to say anything they want with no fear of reprisal, as they are very much aware that they are horrible people who would get punished by anyone with a shred of decency.

The best thing to do is just laugh it off and walk away. When they don't get the outrage of offended reactions they desperately crave; they just get more angry as the gnawing void of their lives becomes louder. 😁

Here's my proposed rework of COH

    +Increase healing speed to 100%

-remove ability to heal self (medkits and self care heals at their ordinary effective speed)

+all survivors outside the range can see auras of injured survivors inside the range

This would allow it to help survivors be patched up as intended but you would still need another person to do it.

That's still broken. Yes, 2 Survivors are now needed to heal, but they heal in 15 seconds.

And it's still not addressing the actual flaws of Boons, which is that they can be replaced infinitely. Survivors are rewarded for taking 30 seconds to place one.

Whereas Killers are punished if they leave it (faster heals) or punished if they remove it (time spent not pressuring gens, and it gets replaced 5 seconds after they walk away).

At a very high price. When you are blessing, you are not doing gens, you aren't doing other things that help the team. You are helping the team by blessing a totem.

When you complain that the other survivors are free to bring meta perks, what meta perks are you talking about? Probably Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike. That is very healthy for the game because survivor meta perks can only be used when a killer plays in an unfair manner.

So if CoH can free another survivor from having to bring Self-Care, they will have room to bring Borrowed Time or maybe Unbreakable. It is not fun to be slugged for ages.

The nerf for CoH is very unhealthy for the game because survivors will be forced to use a medkit or self-care if they want to heal, potentially not having another important perk that is critical.

It is common now for CoH not to be in any games. I saw it a lot when it was first released but the continual nerfs are taking a toll on it.

We are done here. You're clearly trolling by claiming Survivor meta is only useful against unfair killers.

On top of that, you are completely ignoring that placing the boon pays for itself, and Survivors can place a boon and still have other Survivors doing gens. As I have said repeatedly, but your reply is basically 'But they can't' with no supporting argument other than vague silence and dodging the issue.

If you're not going to argue in good faith or just going to troll; please leave my thread. I don't want trolls here.

  • No. SWFs would abuse it. The second they start to lose:

    1. SWF 1 DCs. Now his friends can DC for free while he eats a 5 min penalty.
    2. Next time; SWF 2 DCs. Now everyone else can DC free while he eats his 5 min penalty.
    3. Now SWF 3. Etc.
    4. Now SWF 4.
    5. Now back to SWF 1. It's been long enough that he's only eating the 5 min penalty again instead of the penalty ratcheting up.

Letting everyone else DC for free would just be insanely abused by SWFs who never want to stick out a losing match.

i guess im the only one in the entire community that actually likes to play the game even if it means im losing....why queue up for such a quick game? if youre doing that well as killer let them reset so you can actually...idk play?

Why? The point of the Killer game is to kill.

The point of the Survivor game is to escape.

Do you decide not to open the exit gates if you pop 5 gens too fast? Do you think of the Killer's fun when you loop him for 80 seconds & 2-3 gens pop?

No? Then why should the Killer have to stop trying to win just because he's winning too fast? It's not his fault that the entire Survivor team misplayed so badly that everyone is slugged at 5 gens. So why should he suddenly decide to risk an L by letting everyone get back up and play?

Why is 'my fun' such a Survivor-entitled excuse to shame Killers or demand they play badly?

Edit: This is what I get for seeing a reply to click back on, and not seeing it's date. Oops.

Use thirll of the hunt, if you refuse to get good just say that, also the healing speed literally got nerfed twice πŸ’€ i can tell you have never play a single survivor match in your life.

And I've said the healing speed was not the issue. Everyone who plays both sides understands this.

It's that snuffing it is a waste of Killer time, and no matter what the healing speed is; it's a free 5th perk for 3/4ths of the team and pays for itself within 2 heals. Survivors can place it while doing gens. Killers can't snuff it while chasing Survivors or kicking gens.

I can tell you have never played a single Killer match in your life. See? I can make sweeping, judgemental statements, too. You want to try adding real discussion? Or are you just going to flail at facts and reasoned discourse?

I've played both sides. Just because my points are valid, and that angers you, does not mean you should slip into attacks, mate.
