I agree the problem is not the meta perks but the game design
-
Still better than old undying ruin meta

Oh yeah there is definetly some flaws. Thats why you give reasonable feedback, perhaps you can make a change. I hope you'll find the game fun again.
I hope too because Im slowly leaving dbd. Now I just play for rift, at some point I will get sick of the rift, then I will leave.
I dont play because I want to I play because Im used to.
And thats a real problem.

you are boring lol

Only you yourself know whats fun to you. You figure out yourself ways to entertain yourself. Change your playstyle, or maybe play a different game?
Very constructive..
I said I care about the game, if I wasnt I would have already leave it.
The game could be better dont you think ? Or is it already perfect for you ?

What exactly do you mean by "less competition"? What kinds of things were survivors and killers doing then that they don't do now? Were you playing at the highest red ranks (in the old rank system) or not?
It was more around chases and less objectives. People tried to mindgame now they only hold W in chase.
There was less tunneling it wasnt seen as a strategy, now tunneling is normalized as an effective strategy. Back then tunneling was seen as not fair.
The only thing that didnt change is camping. There was and there is still same amount of campers 😂

I don't think it's the game to be honest
I think your friends burned out on the game and you desperatly clinging on to it when the biggest pull, being able to hang out with friends is gone
Players have always played like it's a competion
Tunneling and slugging were always in the game
And while less known hold w was always as strong as it is
The issues you are seeing in the game were always there but it didn't matter in the past cause you focussed on the fun things dbd has to offer
Now that magic has burned out and you only see the negative
It's okay to be burned out on a game and just letting it go while being happy with what it gave you.
To many people see it as a problem that needs to be fixed
Its not true there was less competition before and more fun.
The only thing which has not change is people playing meta perks

I'm tired of seeing "boring" be used to describe everything in this game. It can be interpreted in so many different ways, often times because nothing concrete is accompanying it. If holding W is "the only thing you can do," then it's the smart play, not the boring one, unless you think that dumb plays are the only exciting ones.
Buffing the killers has basically never hurt the game. It let them be proactive in chase, changing the way they play to fit the situation. But now they're so down in the dumps that it's mostly irrelevant how they play, so most figure they might as well play the way that can* actually get kills consistently: slugging, camping, and tunneling. Strategies like these, perks, and add-ons are used to push killers towards viability where there was little or no viability before.
If you want to play for fun, stop trying so hard to win and being involved in balance talk. Otherwise it's an oxymoron. Why am I going to design a killer, or a perk of theirs, off of what I think is fun rather than useful? Because I'm incapable of finding perks fun if they're not balanced?
The most important over-arching issue I can think of in this game is matchmaking. Since we're not gonna "split the player base" (almost never used to describe new modes in other games), then we've got to make it to where the low caliber and carefree players don't face off against experienced people who play to win. I know it's hard to do, but it's not impossible. Team MMR will help in this. Other improvements to MMR will help in this.
The more accurate the matchmaking, specifically for high level because you don't balance off low level, the more accurate our perception of the game's balance will be. The better that is, the better the game can be balanced, because people will be educated, through experience and observation, on what's strong and weak. There will be less of "Wraith's really strong!" and "Off The Record doesn't do anything." both of which I will argue against any time. But the point is that good matchmaking is what this game needs to survive.
I only play underused perks and builds made by myself nobody uses.
I dont play like its a ranked mode, but the others are so I need too. Even with my trash tier meme builds 😂

now every players play like its a competition, no fun allowed just skill.I've only been playing for about 4 months, but I'd like to understand the idea behind this. How did people use to play? It's a game, the goal is to accomplish the objectives, the faster you do that (example: gen rush/tunneling) the more likely you can accomplish that.
Now I have a problem that certain perks/add-ons are so powerful that they seem necessary/over-powered, but that's a different issue than player's attitudes toward the game.
People used to meme more often. The games were slower, there was less genrush and less tunneling. People tried to loop and anti loop the best they can.
The game was more around chases than objectives. And it was wayyyyy more fun.

I play so many games right now, dbd is the one I play the less, but one I love the most !

Whats the problem if the survivor has power Struggle flip Flop then escape ?
You already have a 3K why do you need to tryhard for the 4k ?
Wasting both 4 minutes time is unfun. At least you get one more chase for the hatch its more entertaining

Not trying to make a us vs them thread, so let’s keep it civil.
Killers: Pain Res/DMS/Eruption/COB/Overcharge/Deadlock and NWO.
Survivors: Dead Hard/OTR/Sprint Burst/Adrenaline/DS/Windows and Boon totems.
Honestly, I really prefer the old meta cuz this new meta is really annoying to go against and it didn’t change much if you look at it right now. People still bring Pain Res and DMS and Dead Hard with OTR almost every game. Old meta was so much better, and less stressful to go against then the new meta.
What are your plans thoughts about it? And is the 80 sec on a gen gonna comeback or is gonna stay 90 sec gen time forever?
How can you say old meta was better ???????
Do you remember old ruin with old undying ? There could be 4 ruins in one game !!!!! And play that with Blight and old Tinkerer ???
No way I want to go back to old meta. New meta is sometimes annoying but way more interesting !
-
Fun to play and underestimated
-
Dont expect to win with lvl 1 perks underused tier and with 0 synergy.

The hatch doesn't exactly "spawn" into the game
It's just invisible. So if you walk over it there is a small bumb
If you don't pay attention to it you'll probably won't notice but if you know about it you can find the hatch that way before it becomes visible
This bug has been patched, is it back again ?
-
Agree.
-
Pain Resonance and DMS is very balanced combo.
Maybe you want the old Ruin + Undying + Tinkerer back ?

Yea no, they should decrease gens to 10seconds instead of 90, feels like something u would say
I wouldnt say that I think generators should be harder to do
-
They should inscrease the duration to 60sec if we can only use it one time per hook
-
Just give him back more tokens of the pools of Blood and he will be fine.

Like it or not. Hooks are a part of the game. The timer is there to create a sense of urgency and pressure. Infinite hook timers are an issue. But more of an issue is the fact that it can be used on multi floor maps. You want to talk about hyper focused taking "skill" because you have to hit skikk checks. Yet there is nothing balanced about sending yourself to something like the game, and getting to use reassurance safely and for free from the other level. There's no skill in that as a survivor. If you tell me that they make it same floor activation. If you tell me that you have to get close enough to the killer to activate it and get away. Then that's fair enough. Much like it's an issue in end game if the killer is trying to make at least a basement play. The options are to wait forever because they're greifing until you give the survivor back. Or give them the survivor back
Try to take off those survivor rose tinted glasses though. Think from a balance standpoint.
I play both sides.
And sorry I cant stand camping. Its boring for both sides. And I want reassurance to become meta so killers will stop camping.
Tunneling, Slugging and Camping are valid but boring play style and survivors needs perks to prevent them.
We have so much perks to anti tunnel or anti slug. We need more for anti camp and Reassurance is welcome.
When the tunnel, slug and camping problem will be solve, the game will be more about chases and protecting generators and will be more fun for everyone.

You can feel that way if you want. But I don't think it's hard to admit the perks need changed and need limitations.
Hyper focus has the ability to help you complete a gen SOLO in 47 seconds. I'm no genius. But kill rates were low. So they upped gen speeds and made changes for chase time. I don't think they want people soloing gens in 47 seconds.
I understand peoples excitement for reassurance. But it needs limitations. It needs to work on one floor(doubtful they'll do that) It needs to work maybe once per hook state. It works from multiple floors. Making it safe to use. When it's supposed to be dangerous(see 6m) I'll spare the discussion on having a perk that basically eliminates hook timers and it's impact on balance. But it's a perk that can be used to bully both survivor and killer. Survivors can keep you in game against your will as survivor. As killer there are many bully/greifing situations that arise. Including but not limited to it shouldn't work in end game. As you can literally do something like stay atop shack and greif the killer(and survivor) To the point it's either "give us our team mate. Or else we're staying here"
You are wrong.
I want to watch you complete every great skill checks with Hyperfocus on the same generator without any fail. I wait.
Hyperfocus is balanced because it needs skill to be rewarded.
Reassurance is fine as it is. I dont see the problem. You can have an infinite hook ? Is it a problem for you because you cant camp anymore ?
These are good perks, not OP, very balanced. And needed to improve the game.

I can't see hyper focus or reassurance making it to live untouched

Funny thing is, way back when the new survivor animations where introduced, the devs added a turning animation to stop survivors form literally snapping their ankles in order to turn in an instant. As you can probably imagine, the outcry from spinners was so loud that those animations were removed.
I remember when it happened. It was interresting I wanted to see more of it.
-
@AnchorTea said:
Nemesis has funny zombie moments though
Agree. Idk why Wesker doesnt have zombies too.
When they announced Project W I was hoping to see more zombies.
-
Interresting comparison, I love both of them.
I think Any Means Necessary is better in swf because you can use the same pallets a second time. And your teammates can already provide you informations in vocal.
But I think Alert is better for soloQ. It provides you very good informations. And I cant wait for the devs to finish all map reworks with breakable walls so Alert will be better.
-
Good ideas !
-
@StarLost said:
I like the idea as a potential camping discouragement, but...I'm really not a fan of this being tied to a paid DLC.
I'd rather see it be introduced as a general perk, giving people access to it without spending money, and add a new perk for the DLC.
Thoughts?
You're right. This perk is very good but new players will still be camped because its a DLC perk. If it was attached to an original DLC it will be okay because we can use shards for original character. But its a licence DLC and I know a lot of players who will wait for it to come in the shrine of secrets.
-
You're right.
Now survivors cant complain about camping !

Absolutely not. Killers should not be expected or shamed into making poor game decisions, when the survivors are actively trying to force the killer into these situations.
Toxic behavior is survivors that wiggle when they know there aren't any hooks in the area, and then complain if the killer drops them and lets them bleed out.
Just try one time, its a waste of time for everyone.
I play killer too

And then they go to the same spot again since they know you can't hook them there...
Happens more times than I would like.
If you don't want to get bleed out, don't wiggle out. The killer has control over the situation so it makes sense to them to chose the option with the least amount of risk to get their rewards. You can make a choice between going through things on the hard way or the easy way.
If they go back to the spot I understand you but most of the time the killer dont even try one time..

If the survivor wants to get hooked, they can crawl to a hook, or not wiggle if I pick them up. Otherwise, it’s their own fault if I leave them to bleed out. They chose their fate.
Or you try to hook them and if they wiggled you chase them again
-
Is it so important for you to get your 4K ?
You can try to hook the survivor on another hook, and if he escape by hatch you have 3K its enough.
Letting survivor bleeding on the floor is toxic and selfish.

I don't hook them close to safe pallet im not that kind and if they do make it I hit anyway so that counters otr as well.
But they can still go to a pallet or window and loop you for 30sec or more

Im not sure what your saying but I don't have any problem tunneling survivor out I count to 5 and hit. Most don't have ds and If they have otr I just go after them. You have to just find the weak link don't tunnel if the survivor is good.
Yes because they are bad. 5 sec is enough to go to a pallet or window and loop you for 30sec or more

@Deathstroke said:

Tunneling is stronger than ever before it was hard to get one out 2-3 mins in the match but it's actually easy now. Use ph and try to get survivor tormented and then hook him normally and facecamp the second hook state and when he is saved hit him immediatelly to take otr away and then down and use final judgement.
No tunneling is over since we have BT basekit and OTR buff.
If a killer tunnel you since 6.1.0 its a skill issue.
-
With the recent survivor buffs it feels more safe to play survivor. Tunneling is over it was a very good update, now they need to look at camping.
