Well then, I now need more information... I hope they release a video or post revealing the Perk changes and changes to Pig later today. I went from being excited to requiring answers very quickly.
Also, why nerf Pig when Legion's already dead? Are they *trying* to force us into playing Nurse and Billy? I already tire o

I really just want the maps to be balanced. Fix the see-through walls on Coldwind, nerf some of the more disgusting main buildings, Haddonfield in general needs looking at. A few Survivor perks like Balanced Landing, Adrenaline, and Mettle of Man also need to be scrutinized.
I'm not saying Killers are perfectly fine either, I know that Nurse needs a solid looking at, as do a lot of addons for other high-tier killers, but right now I definitely feel as though any attempt to buff Killers to current Survivor levels is just going to result in a very unfun game for both sides.
tl;dr: I'm OK with running around tiles, but for the love of the Entity fix the broken main buildings and a few perks.
-
The changes have really blurred Legion's role in the game, as their chase is now average, their tracking isn't useful unless you simply don't want to chase the first Survivor, the Speed Reduction hurts any potential mobility they had, and the stall is laughable, yet they aren't a good jack of all trades. Do you have any plans on giving Legion a more defined role?
-
It depends. If I play well with Freddy, have a 3-gen with Doc, or am doing poorly as Survivor, 10 to 12 minutes.
If I'm playing any other Killer without Ruin (a perk I despise running) or doing well as Survivor, 3 to 7 minutes. Gens pop at insane speeds.
-
If I had Legion I would 100% go for this kind of build. I'm still going to abuse the new Thanatophobia on Coulro Doc though.
-
I don't play Killer nearly as much as I'd like to for this exact reason. I understand that Killers are on a sensitive time limit, and I get that it's part of the game's design.
Thing is though, when a decent group of Survivors can rush through in <5 minutes, it makes the game rough. Throw in the toxicity of a decent part of the playerbase and I just find myself playing more and more Survivor because I'd rather not get cussed out for not being a god at video games, and at this point I'm actually more afraid of opening a Killer lobby than playing Survivor.
-
@not_Queen How possible would it be to get this passed along to the designers? It gives Freddy some nice love without making him completely alien to the people that enjoy the way he plays now.
-
IIRC wasn't the blob's purpose also to hide the Killer's next move? Same reason Generators get the Blob when they pop, to hide Survivor movements.
-
I'd rather they announce a release date so that they have a bit more time to work on Legion.

I want all doc mains to run insane and run a protest when this patch goes live.Run a full slugging build and make survivors DC left and right.
Otherwise there cant be justice
Well, I was going to go full facecamp Bubba, but slugging Doc sounds like it might be a fun protest.
-
Pfft with the changes I'm not sure if I'm even going to bother with DBD. If I do, I'll either grab Legion with Shards or wait for Mad Grit on the shrine. Then it's Basement Bubba time because apparently they don't want people to play fun killers, so I'll play as un-fun as I can until they either revert the Doc nerf or buff Freddy.
-
With the nerf to the Doc, the lack of a Freddy change, and the pathetic showing for Legion's changes, I think that solidifies everything: If I'm still playing next patch, I'm going to be either a Survivor, or I will Insidious camp with Bubba as a protest.

It's not a nerf. It's a bug fix. Read Nurses Calling description.Except that they specifically went out of their way to make Snap Out of It a healing action for the purposes of a Nurse's Calling when they put the Doctor Cube together.

I'm pretty sure that Freddy's not worse than Leatherface, but aside from that point your suggestion to prevent pallet drops would skyrocket Freddy to "better than Nurse", who is already arguably OP.
Freddy doesn't need much, make Self Care not wake people up, and make the action speed during Dream Transition 0%. Those two changes would make him much more powerful without really changing his gameplay. If they wanted to go a bit further with the buffs, they could try extending the range of Dream Demon a little bit.

Currently a Feng main, since her (admittedly) glitchy jacket can be pretty sneaky and I don't like Claudette, but I'm debating whether to have Tapp, Quentin, Ace, or Adam as my secondary.
-
1, 2, and 3 I agree with. I don't think being able to grab sleeping Survivors off of gens is necessary though.
Sadly the only part in the second half I agree with (even then, only partially) is the healing wakeups. If they do it with a medkit, I don't mind. Self-Care, however, should never be able to wake you up. I don't particularly care about Adrenaline, sure it can sting but it's a one-time endgame perk. I wouldn't say no to a minor skill-check decreaser built in, but it should be no stronger than the current Wool Shirt.
Only other changes I would champion for would be to hard-lock his Aura-Reading to outside 24 meters (Small Nerf), but restore the 16 meter Terror Radius he had on release. That's just personal preference though.
Honestly I'm nervous about his "rework." I simply hope that if they do completely rework him, that he ends up in the top tier because otherwise simple buffs like the ones here could easily bring him to mid-tier for far less effort, without compromising his current design as a psuedo-map-control/stalling killer.

I believe it would be an interesting change of pace, and a nice way to license some extra killers without having to go through the legal nightmares that most of the other slasher icons are going through. I'm not familiar with Outlast, but I wasn't familiar with SAW either and I'm here thinking about playing Pig. I'm sure they could come up with something interesting, and hey another inside map is always nice for Doc and Myers.
I know there's been an interest in FNAF, even among some of BHVR. In spite of all the hate it gets it might not be bad, and I'd be legitimately interested in seeing what they'd do with the Killer power and the Survivor in general. Slender might also be a possibility. Granted, he's closer to a creepypasta than a game character, but he started to gain traction in the Slender games so that could also be an intriguing choice.

Herman Carter "The Doctor" - He was my first killer, and I've been playing him since he came out. He's a ton of fun. On top of that the lore is well written and his aesthetic is very pleasing to me.
Freddy Krueger "The Nightmare" - The original Nightmare on Elm Street was my first slasher movie, so of course Freddy holds a place in my heart. It doesn't hurt that he's surprisingly fun and may have the nastiest 3-gen in the game. He's also got the unique ability to curate who he actually wants to deal with on a per-match basis, which is nice for when I don't feel like dealing with the T-bagging obsession or I realize that the Survivors are too good for me to face. I'm excited for the upcoming buffs, and look forward to terrorizing more people in the dream world.
From this point onward are killers I want to learn:
Amanda Young "The Pig" - I'm not a huge SAW fan, but I appreciate the way Pig works. She's a ton of fun, and, while rare, there's a certain mix of shock, excitement, and joy when you see Game Over pop up.
Anna "The Huntress" - Swole Russian chick chucking hatchets. What else is there to say, really?
Lisa Sherwood "The Hag" - An interestingly strategic killer, I can really appreciate the amount of thought a good Hag has to put in to draw out the horrifying potential. Aside from that, I find the way she frolics around to be hilariously adorable when combined with the deformed design. It's almost more jarring than Pig's stun sound!
Special shout out to Michael Myers "The Shape" - Although he's not on my list to learn at the moment, when I'm a Survivor I appreciate the spooks that he can bring, and I will probably learn him at some point in the future.
-
- Feng Min - While her perks aren't the greatest, I'm a definite fan of the gamer girl backstory and she comes from my favorite chapter (Spark of Madness.)
- Detective Tapp - I just love that his perks reward good stealth play and allow him to continue even in dire situations.
- Quentin Smith - I may not care for the Elm Street reboot, but Quentin's alright in my book. Doesn't hurt that he has Pharmacy which always a fun perk IMO.
- Ace Visconti - F I N G E R G U N S
- Nea Karlsson - She makes the list due to a variety of killer memes and the fact that Urban Evasion is hands-down my favorite Survivor perk in the game.
-
I'd love to see Freddy get some cosmetics, especially the original Freddy and Wes Craven's New Nightmare. It's not even entirely out of the question, as MKX Mobile got classic Freddy, and it would be a nice way to apologize for his... less than stellar treatment in DBD <_<
Aside from that, I would love to see Pretty Lady Leatherface or the Michael from the new Halloween coming out this year.
-
Although I can't deny that Michael is a far more interesting killer mechanically, as is the Pig, I can't help but vote for Freddy. He's my favorite slasher of all time and he has a lot of potential to be a very fun ambush killer depending on how they handle him going forward. (Yes, I'm a fanboy).
-
I agree with #1, primarily as a form of Totem Defense and a method to get Survivors away from those that he's downed to prevent the situation where he can't pick someone up.
For #2, I'm pretty sure that'd break him and the game. He'd be even more hated than he was on release. I admit the balance of this game is funky, especially in regards to how Freddy's been treated, but a change like that is not the way to go.
Instead of allowing Freddy to pull people off of gens, I'd rather they remove Self-Care Wakeups so that Survivors are forced to make a choice between making their friend leave a gen to come wake them up, or go blow up a gen. Most of the methods the characters in the movies used to wake up were environmental anyways, so it wouldn't be horrifically lorebreaking and would be a solid buff for Freddy
I also wouldn't mind if they hard-locked the Aura Reading to his Lullaby and gave him his 16-meter Terror Radius back. Red Paintbrush could be altered to re-lock it to Terror Radius if so desired, but it would really help him as he feels less like a chase killer and more like someone who's aura reading should help him set up ambushes when Survivors are vulnerable..
-
Unpopular opinion, but I can't help but smile when I'm going against a Doctor. It's pretty fun to micro your Madness and handle Risk vs Reward when it comes to dedicating to Gens.
Myers and Pig are also quite enjoyable to face off against, whether it be the jumpscare factor of Myers or the intensity of trying to remove the RBT against the Pig.
-
Freddy's lack of strength pains me, as A Nightmare on Elm Street is one of my favorite movies, and he doesn't need a lot to become stronger. I do have some ideas to make him more bearable, but on the whole he needs a full-blown Rework. I don't think we're going to get that though, as they'd have to essentially completely renegotiate the killer, which could take ages to do.
The biggest buff Freddy needs though is for Self Care to not be able to wake Survivors up. That one small change would change him dramatically as he could actually be a decent Stall/Ambush killer, like The Pig. Aside from that I'd argue that Dream Transition should prevent Totems at least, but then again I could write a whole essay about fixing Freddy. As it is we'll just have to hope for the Devs to pull through with a buff.

Hillbilly. I know it's an unpopular opinion but every time I hear that Chainsaw rev within the first 2 seconds of a match I end up sighing to myself "Here we go again". It may not be true but I feel like Billy games can easily become more boring than Doctor matches. Aside from Hillbilly, I like to run free, so against Trapper I suffer. I can understand-ish why some people hate facing Doc, but I've never really had an issue with him.
