Not sure buffing a perk that's already strong because of bad teammates is really a great design choice
-
It's far more than that
1 - Shows you where your teammates are, thus allowing you to either sit on that gen, especially if it has Ruin, so someone else saves and you don't waste time running cross map. Though, if you're super far from them, technically you should sit on the gen anyway.
2 - It shows you if the killer walks in your direction after they hook a survivor.
3 - It shows you if they're camping
4 - It helps your team coordinate for you when you're hooked
But like Bond, well, when your teammate gets hooked you also get to see how useless your team may be being, forcing you to run cross map anyway because the Meg is crouched in a corner and the Claudette is hiding in a locker and you can't even see their aura
-
But then you could prepare for them, which wouldn't be fair. You know, because those survivors being in a group and communicating on Discord totally isn't them being prepared and making the game fair haha :)
-
One issue with it is it hides whether or not the matchmaking is truly working as intended or not. You have balanced matches, then you have the odd match where you go up against people that are quite a bit better than you. So the game knows you aren't ready for that MMR and you get a more balanced match the next game.
Okay, fine. Except that's easy to see and determine yourself if you're capable of seeing your MMR, or your MMR relative to the killer/average of all 4 survivors. But because you can't see your MMR or theirs and do this, that means that if the game is failing to use MMR correctly, it won't really matter because if MMR is hidden, you'll never know if the game had terrible/unfair matchmaking or a game you were going to have a lot of trouble to win.

Why does it ruin the game for content creators and skilled players to go up against people of equal skill?
A lot of people asked for it and want it. Claiming otherwise doesn't help your case.
A lot of people also don't want it. What kind of argument is that? That doesn't seem to help your case, either.
I don't think skilled survivors are going to enjoy playing against the same killers every single game, because those skilled survivors will not have any trouble going against killers that are not higher tier killers. Therefore it pushes those other killers out and you're left with no variety. You're left with games that result in nothing but toxic play and a complete lack of variety across the board. You can't have fun and enjoy yourself because if you're naturally skilled at the game, the result is you getting increasingly unfun games.
That's the problem with being good at this game and playing against people equally skilled across the board. The reality is the killer is either going to be a top tier killer who is efficient and will slug and do what they have to to win, or the survivors will have no trouble with you. Generally speaking, 4 equally skilled survivors will almost always beat 1 equally skilled killer. "Competitive" tournaments further prove this even with their strict rulesets. There's a reason people laugh at the idea of this game being competitive. If you need better explanation you're free to look up Youtube videos of some of the best players telling you why MMR simply doesn't work in this game.
-
Failure to create new content outside of a new survivor/killer every 3 months. The last new thing added to this game, and the only thing in memory since the games inception, was the Archives/Rift, in 2019?
Definitely agree with breakable walls. Dumbest idea that won't die or be removed because it's some top developers baby. Just an idiotic time waster that forces the killer to lose a chase.
-
It ruins the game for content creators, it ruins the game for skilled players, and the only people that would be lucky to benefit from it are people who are just not very good at the game, but even they will run into issues with it. For example, equally skilled survivors and killers at green-yellow ranks will favor the killer because everyone is still clueless regardless of how good you are.
Nobody asked for it, nobody wants it, but two years later we're still here trying to make it work. So then it begs the question... was it really worth the time and effort?
-
I'd imagine they looked at their statistics and decided he's in a great place. That's why even people who love Trapper, like Otz, will be one of the quickest people to tell you he should have at least a brown bag by default. But again, just further proof they don't even listen to their own Fog Whisperers, too, so what chance do you think you got?
-
The only people MMR benefits are people who are bad at the game, at least in terms of DBD. That's.. most of the community. In my opinion.
-
Scissorhands?
-
Toss a mask and a sweater on and you're doing Legion cosplay or art. Pretty easy to understand why they're popular when they're the easiest things to both cosplay and draw.
-
Legion is the worst killer in the game. His power does nothing but put people in the injured state, which then turns him into an M1 killer. If you're capable of looping, then all this does is make him easy to deal with and encourage survivors to pound gens.
Pig at least can sneak up on people, or use her power at a surprising amount of loops for a down. Combined with two addons that let you do it easier, and her traps and maybe getting RNG, she isn't the worse. She has two things that at least function.
Arguably Trapper is probably second worst, generally speaking he's even worse than Legion if the survivors are decent. In fact, you could probably just hold W against a Trapper in safer, non-trapped areas and win easy mode. Without traps, he's without a power, which objectively makes him even worse than Legion because he can't put you into injured state.
Freddy can teleport to gens and place slows at many loops. He has powers that function. Clown can get a bit of speed and slow survivors at loops, he also has a power that functions.
I'm not even going to waste my time talking about moronic you would have to be to call Nurse the worst killer in the game. I think Doc is probably third on the list here. After that, there's a lot of bad killers but they at least have the ability to be good.
-
I remember when I was playing OW for a while and people complained a ton about two things:
1- Their MMR being hidden, and not being able to accurately gauge the balance of the match by being unable to see their teams and enemy teams combined MMR
2 - The inability to see what people were grouped together.
Then The OW team showed both. Would you like to take a guess what people will complain about here? People don't like when things are hidden like this, and they don't like not being able to chase a goal because it's invisible.
-
It has to be removed because you wasted time building BL3 at an incredibly unsafe pallet, when you could've forced a pallet drop and easily got a hit far earlier?
Wow. You're brilliant. What an amazing example of why BL3 should be removed. Is this live footage of a survivor main playing at rank 20 to prove a point? Lol

You never get something right the first time, it takes trail and error to get something right. MMR has worked successfully in other games and will work successfully in this game unless the Devs take your advice and just give up.
Except there's no accurate way to determine the skill of an individual in this game as opposed to games specifically designed to be competitive. There are far too many variables, far too much RNG, and it's an asymmetrical game. It just doesn't work. This is, by definition, the kind of game meant to be fun, when ironically it isn't, but still. "Survivor party game" as the developers would call it. It'd be like putting MMR in Mario Party.
-
The devs have constantly stated that they don't believe in exclusivity and that there's a chance everything will be obtainable at some point in the future.
Except Legacy, for some reason that's the thing that they can be hypocrites with
-
I've found them all to be lacking since the second and haven't bought one since. Too many levels filled with useless, terrible cosmetics that are just thrown in there to inflate the 70 levels, instead of making it take more fragments to level while reducing the levels, to increase the actual quality of cosmetics in the rift.
But they'll never do anything except increase the levels, if anything, do entice people to spend money they earn back or o levels they don't achieve to buy the remainder. I can guarantee you they know just how many fragments it takes for their players to get to around x level, just far enough to get them to feeel the need to spend money to buy them. BHVR does love their statistics after all.
. Maybe if more people expected quality items from it like me you wouldn't be getting screwed over because so many people buy it
-
Perfect example of why you should play the killer you want, use the perks you want, play how you want, and not care what people say.
-
Don't worry, the PS6 will fix our problem so we don't have to. - BHVR probably
-
When this type of stuff happens it is rarely ever because of the killer, so I don't understand why your first thought is "It must be the killer and wifi"
If only there wasn't some way to realize DBD is tied to Steam servers, which can cause issues like this.
-
That's a lot of words just to say camping and tunneling sucks. Why are all of your points survivor points, if I might ask? Do you believe that killers have no problems, and survivors are fine? I guess the best question I could ask to make what you're saying relevant is do you disagree that second chance perks are bad for the game as a whole, regardless of the skill of the people using them?
I don't think a solution exists for camping and tunneling, and I think they're things that if punished incorrectly, will simply remove something you should be able to do. You're effectively giving the survivors a power creep in the form of greed. If someone wants to camp or tunnel, even if they get derank (favors them) or less BP, they're going to do it, because they're bad or because the survivors are very efficient and you need one out of the game.
Do you really believe some of the best killers don't often say things like "I need to get someone out of the game quick" or that they don't potentially eat a DS to get someone out? They do, it's just rare because good survivors are rare.
-
My opinion is this kind of thing feels bad and is just plain frustrating in a game full of frustrations. It's like a bandaid fix for a problem that's not really easy to solve for any game.
Fact is, I'll never support anything in this game that rewards you for playing greedy

You didn't watch the video did you...
Sure they did, but in their mind the killer in this video both somehow didn't hit the survivor before the pallet was dropped, and also the killer must have 300ms ping. That way, their ignorant statement is actually true
-
This game isn't as toxic as it is because the report system is functional. So to answer your question, some believe these types of complaints go into a rather large pile, that then sort of slowly slides down into a large bin, which then shreds the problem away. Not for you, for BHVR
It's kind of why they introduced the classic, forced word filter. You know, to let you know they're taking all actions necessary. I'd imagine if they're harrassing you on a specific platform you could report it to Sony/Microsoft and they might do something. Or, they'll just tell you to block them, since they, too, have a slow sliding pile shredder.
-
True, someone might have a negative opinion on fellow online gamers if they use certain perks, killers, addons, or offerings. As such, we should all strive for a pure, fun environment, because the respect of people you'll never meet in such a friendly community is all that really matters, and I would hate for someone to view me as an unskilled camper or tunneler, since that would just break my little heart. Imagine not having the respect of fellow players and living up to their epic gamer standards. So sad, really
-
I don't really think you can do that unless you built your game around what most games who build a 1v4 asymmetrical game around would do, and that is the idea that the killer is most likely going to kill every single person. The game becomes longer, the chases become more frequent, the holding M1 becomes less of the main importance, stealth becomes viable.
At the end of the day, when you're playing against 4 really good players, do you really feel like you're a killer? Or do you feel like you're constantly chasing people running away or run in a circle?

A lot of killers tunnel and camp hardcore :) so yeah fun on rank 1
People who tunnel and camp generally aren't the kind of people who are going to be nice for 2x bp unfortunately. Although it doesn't entirely surprise me when there's a lot of bad killers at red ranks, same as survivors, so of course they're going to feel like they have to do that.
-
This problem has actually been better than ever compared to how it used to be. Seems to me like you just don't understand when you're going to get hit through a vault/window based on distance and hitboxes. I've certainly not had this issue, and most of the time I'm surprised I don't get hit. It could also be a you problem if it's such a consistent problem.
-
I've had a Demo lunge when I was not even at max range cause the survivor to not take damage from it, and I wasn't even at a pallet. Not really surprising something meant to fix or make one thing better doesn't function properly. Luckily, like Blight's bugs still not being fixed after like a year, it's a killer issue and we all breathe a sigh of relief.
-
All of these unfun killers like Deathslinger, Huntress, Nemesis, PH, Spirit, they've all made me have a new found appreciation for Nurse and the skill she takes and the mindgames you can play against her.
I think most people who complain about her are in the pool that 95% of survivors who paly this game find themselves, and that is the "bad at the game" category. Easy to see every Nurse as a godi-tier Nurse who never misses blinks when you're terrible at the game and are 100% predictable
Red ranks is just a mash of ranks 1-20 survivors, add in the fact a lot of those people don't even know how to play against some of the killers that exist in the game, or know not to heal against someone like a Legion, puts even further emphasis on the lack of brainpower going o.
-
The lunge bug isn't really a "bug" so much that DBD doesn't have a "queue" system. Basically, if you hit M1 just a little too early when you enter out of a state where you can't swing, then the game won't register that you swung, whereas most games would account for that and give you the hit by having the hit be queued. Interestingly, Nurse has this problem but Spirit doesn't seem to, or I suppose you're not instant react swinging coming out of phasing in the same way as a blink. She has countless bugs that have existed for years that the developers seem to have zero interest in dedicating time to fixing. Most people would call that inexcusable, but it's just commonplace and accepted here.
-
Yes, it allows both sides to obtain information 100% not meant to be obtained, and makes a lot of movement meant for mindgames non-existent. In tournaments (lol) that matter in DBD, every person is required to stream the game to guarantee that they're not using stretched res.
For some reason BHVR refuses to, hasn't gotten around to, or simply isn't capable of, fixing it.
-
I used to give the last survivor hatch every time until I would sometimes get up to get a drink/bathroom, only to come back 5 minutes later to them AFK on the hatch or teabagging. This happened incredibly frequently, to the point that it is the sole reason I will slug for the 4k, every single time.
I don't really camp or tunnel unless it's necessary, but after seeing the things I've seen in-game for 4 years and seeing the whiny things streamers say and do? I could care less about what other people think about how I play, what perks I use, what killer I use, or anything. I just stopped caring, and when you stop caring if you win or lose, and you stop caring about what other people think, or some imaginary "respect" or "rules" that you should feel good following, that only ever benefit the other side, you'll enjoy the game more.
That one thing I do doesn't dictate everything else, or how I play, or if I care if everyone even escapes. It's just the direct result of morons being morons, and I'm sure my actions cascade the same as theirs. This community isn't worth not being toxic towards when it is so toxic in every way itself. The developers certainly could care less it's one of the most toxic gaming communities around; they don't even have a functional report system, just a band-aid, useless word censor.
-
Oh no, a killer is using perks in the video game. People definitely don't use the same perks on their survivors and killers all the time because they're really good or meta! You're using Ruin on an A-S tier killer? Wow! You're bad! As if anyone cares what some random person on the internet or playing a video game thinks about that kind of thing
-
This would not be abused, and totally doesn't remove the actual, valid moments where people can use it as a strategy. If I hook 1 survivor and 3 survivors do gens after they've been hooked a bit, then their greed should be able to be punished, and you can be your ass I'm going to camp that person to second state as a counter. Sorry, but ideas like this are terrible and horribly thought out.
If a killer wants to camp, or tunnel, every single game, they will do it. You could give them zero BP, you could make them derank and do them a favor, to place them against less competent people, and they will still do it.
-
Nothing. Nothing happens
-
Nothing is more fun than ruining the game for 4 other people by disconnecting, haven't you heard? Why do anything about that or toxic players with a functioning report system, when you can simply encourage your terrible community to be even worse? After all, all that matters is you. You are the center of the universe and you are all that matters, so if you aren't having fun you should leave, right?
I'm just going to make excuse after excuse to justify my terrible behavior because I'm a terrible person :)
You know at least long survivor queues and the DC penalty made people DC in far, far less numbers. Now we're back to the point pre-introduction, where you're likely to get one every game, or every other game, because you're playing literally any killer in the entire game. I mean we've reached a point where you can go to any survivor streamer and all you're going to hear is how any killer that isn't an easily looped killer is "boring" Why don't we just make the game only 100% fun for survivors already
-
If they give him a pet crow that lets him see 5 ft above his actual height? Maybe.
-
It's a video game. You can play however you want. If you're going to change the way you play because someone insults you, or tells you using x perk makes you bad, or it's overpowered and you suck without it, who cares? They'll tell you it no matter what you do. "That's not fun" "That's a boring killer to play against as a survivor" Who cares? Lol
Stop caring about the meaningless respect that other people will have if you play a certain way and play how you want, because they sure will. That doesn't really change that how you may be playing is really pathetic, or bad, or just something you really shouldn't be doing, but again, you do you, friend. If it was such a problem it wouldn't exist in game.

Sure you’ll play him at the highest and get destroyed. Just like any other killer that isn’t named Nurse. You really can’t use “play x killer at the highest level” when 90% of game are causal and people are playing for fun not to sweat. ANY killer killer except Nurse and maybe Spirit and Blight are getting destroyed at the highest level.
Still doesn’t change the fact that at the causal level he is easy to play and is strong enough to hold his own. Nothing wrong with that. You want an easy to play killer that is pretty strong? Play Wraith. That’s why everyone wants to play him. There is no thinking involved with his power. Just cloak and uncloak. That’s it.
At the end of the day that's not a Wraith problem, it's a bad player problem. You can't just make every killer terrible or overly difficult because bad players have no will or ability to improve. It's just as mindless to play a Wraith as it was Freddy, as it is to mindlessly use no ounce of your brain as a survivor to improve. If 95% of survivors are terrible and lack and sense of awareness, that's on them. DBD has never been a game that was easy for new survivors, and it also creates a ton of bad killers in ranks they shouldn't be in. Just a hard game to judge skill, which is why red ranks feel like a jumble of ranks 1-20.
-
Yeah, they've been talking about console optimization for years. Just another item on the list of things they've spoken about but never happened. Evidently they just figured they'd wait it out until the new console generations came out to fix their own problems for them. Yeah, like I'm waiting for a 3080 to fix mine and still can't get one, it ain't happening chief.

We must judge perks while on players that play at the max efficiency possibile, who can be just a SWF with a brain, not even competitive players
The goal as a killer is to prevent the loss of generators and pressure them. While you could argue that using a perk like Coup reduces the time it takes to down someone, thus allowing you to pressure gens, it does not change the fact you have to both lose a generator to gain a benefit, and also lose the benefit on a lunge. No one uses Coup because it is objectively a bad perk that is better off being replaced with something useful, like SF/Enduring
As for Lethal, it's a somewhat common perk that's really useful on quite a few killers, especially those that don't need Coup and already benefit from their power, which allows them to end chases quickly in the first place. It's even better if they can't do that, even on just a basic M1 killer. Why? Maps are really big, and if you toss Ruin on with Lethal, you immediately know where everyone is and what gens they will be on. That allows you to stop an insta 1 gen and remove all progression if you see 3 survivors on one gen. It allows you to pressure the perfect gen from 2 survivors, then pressure the gen the first survivor was on, or whatever whatever. Basically, it gives you the ability to apply pressure when it's needed most, at the start of a match, which dictates your entire game. Yet, here you are telling people a perk that gains you temporary buffs when you're losing pressure is somehow better.
-
You know when people think everyone has played the RE game, or should go play it, and therefore should know the map, or play it to learn the map in DBD, it makes me lose braincells. All indoor maps kinda suffer this problem of never really knowing what you running into as you run from room to room, area to area. May as well give the map one.
-
You know people have such terrible definitions of things like "Sweaty" in a game. They're the same kind of people who take a snowball killer like Oni using IF and slugging as "sweaty" when it's literally just his most efficient type of playstyle. "Unfun" or, as sweaty survivors like to call it, "Boring" because it counters their own sweat. Honestly I think a lot of people think someone who is just far better than they are at the game and is something that's natural do to practice means they're sweaty, when they're just.. terrible.
-
Wraith does have a counter, it's the same counter Michael and GF have, and it's this little known thing called "awareness" Something the general playerbase seems to lack. That's his whole deal, getthing the drop on you while he's invis, which should never be a problem unless you're in the open with NOTHING to work with, or behind a wall, where every killer of his type excels in general. If you run into Wraith that much, which I highly doubt, put on Sprint Burst and stop complaining about an otherwise fine killer.
-
Have you ever read the reasoning behind their nerfs in the nerf patch? They literally outline all the reasons why he's a perfectly balanced killer, but then proceeded to nerf him. Just BHVR things.
-
It's... literally the same event, yes. There was no extra effort. It was just another excuse to be lazy
-
Why do you think people who tunnel and camp are suddenly just going to grow skill or look the other way on the only way they know how to play? Because of an event? People actively go out of their way to ruin the event for the other side all the time in the past
-
I mean the great thing about playing a killer that's incredibly strong is that if the people you're playing against are bad or they're not try hards, you can just go easy on them. But, in the event that they are really sweaty, hey, you're playing a killer that can absolutely demolish them.
That's the problem with most killers in the pool, most of the time you'll do fine because matchmaking is a joke, but when you get a team that really knows what they're doing, you're going to have issues. And you could run into those people 3 games in a row on an unlucky day, enough to make you log off.

Killers need special accommodations or they flood these forums to complain and bully others.
Pretty sure that works both ways, it isn't a "x main" specific problem. It's only that way when you have an ignorant perspective from only one side yourself, generally speaking. I'd imagine that's not a foreign concept to you, someone whose entire post history is nothing but "Imbalanced game, killer OP" from glancing at it.
Also, as I recall you only have to escape for survivor adepts, which are infinitely easier than the killer one, which is an absolute pain. In other words it's this way because BHVR.
