  • Most of the time when I get tunneled I get really annoyed, but then I generally understand why they're doing it, so it makes me less annoyed. It's really easy for you to lose a game if you're not a really knowledgeable or skilled killer if the survivors are even halfway competent, so I can't blame them for it.

But if you go out of your way to do it even when you don't really have to, then you're still a bad player making excuse for your bad play. You're better off proxy camping and watching nearby gens and doing everything you can to force your first hooked survivor to shift health states so you can kill them off later when you really need pressure.

  • DH and Sprint Burst are both pretty busted.

DH lets you fix a mistake, especially if you get mind gamed, and not get hit. It lets you play greedy and be rewarded for doing so. People might not realize it but doing that can let you drop a pallet that's safe, which lets you get to another pallet, and another loop, and it can extend a chase you should've lost by a TON of time against a good survivor. That is not balanced or healthy.

Sprint Burst allows you to sit on a generator in the killers face until the very last second without ANY fear, because you can simply SB to the nearest pallet you're going to loop. You don't have to care about BBQ. Don't have to care if you hear the killer TR. No care of positioning or anything. Just a free escape to the safest area near you. The downside is walking but you don't have to walk if you run for a save because you're safe, you don't have to walk and hold it at the start because EVERY pallet is up.

Four people can do this MULTIPLE times per match. At least Lithe/Balanced actually require a set of events for activation. You have some of the worst perks killers can use and never do have massive CDs, but busted Exhaustion perks have such tiny cooldowns that even rest after a hook, that it's just disgusting. It's why I find people who complain about camping hilarious. Unhook. BT. DS. Still chased? DH.

  • Do you not play other games? Lol. I've been playing this game for almost 4 years and this game has always been a huge mess, but more than anything the developers very, very often make far worse decisions than good ones. Too hard on them? Probably, this community is already terribly toxic, so I can't imagine how it must be to be a developer for BHVR. I'm not going to pretend like they don't deserve a LOT of the criticism they get, especially when it comes to feedback.

I play a lot of POE, Vermintide, DRG, and it's absolutely amazing how different their communities, their developers, and their games are in every single aspect. It really is night and day and it makes me respect those companies and have very little for this one. But I don't go around spreading toxicity towards the developers or demand change, mostly because well, it would be completely pointless - they'll do what they want, generally :)

  • Map sizes are nerfed because Shift + W is so strong even bad survivors can waste a killers time. They're nerfed because most killers can't apply pressure to the vast majority of maps. The side that is stronger tends to get nerfed the most, and that is why a lot of things relating to survivors get nerfed. This shouldn't surprise you. In case you're unaware, the killer is the one that it is 4v1 against, therefore having a strong power and strong perks is necessary. Let's not pretend like survivors don't get new good perks, or don't have more than enough second chance perks. Plenty of survivor streamers also post their winstreaks onto Youtube. It's not impressive for either side, and it's a matchmaking issue, not a killer or survivor issue.

Sounds to me like you're a whiny baby who has zero understanding of the balance in this game, like I'd be wasting my time even trying to argue with someone who complains about Tinkerer or whines that some of the weakest killers in the game receive buffs.

I want to call you a troll but looking at all of your previous comment history? It's really pretty sad to see someone do nothing but complain as much as you do about killer OP. Classic case of a bad survivor who never learns to get better and instead wants everything nerfed.

  • Some are beneficial, the majority are not. So it begs the question; why have them at all? Balance the map without destructible walls. It's a total momentum and time killer to have to do that, especially in some chases where not breaking some walls puts you at a severe disadvantage.

The solution to, say, a ridiculous setup, shouldn't be to make it better with a wall. Like placing them at shack, for example, has no reason in being there.

  • It's there because the developers had it show how many hooks every survivor had for everyone, but then they realized that would be too convenient for killers and they'd rather them do mental gymnastics. So they put a useless hook counter that serves no really purpose as a means to show they at least did something.

  • I played a game to see the new outfit and animations, quickly ran into two new bugs, and immediately realized I won't bother playing her. The new UI and update as a whole made me uninstall the game, so I'll reinstall it again sometime in the future when they make improvements to this stone age patch.

I don't understand why you're complaining when you clearly haven't even bothered to take the time to learn how to counter her. It's like every bad survivor in the world thinks every Nurse is a GOD because they're just so bad at the game they don't realize how easy it is to catch them, even as a bad Nurse. With a little bit of knowledge you can juke a Nurse long enough to have an impact.

  • The map was already bad before with safe pallets, especially the room above the bathroom having 2, then you drop down into 2 more super safe pallets, and there was a few more. Now, almost the entire map is 100% safe pallets. I watched one killer play and they ran into 14 safe pallets before finding one that was sort of mind-gameable, then the rest they ran into, minus one at the jungle gym downstairs, which you can play pretty hard.

But hey, at least the map looks cool, right? And in the end, isn't that all that really matters?

  • Honestly it's been quite a while since they released a patch as bad as this one. So I mean props to them for making it this long

  • True, maybe in a future update they'll change it to be more modern, and actually fit the aesthetics of the game. Maybe a nice, compact area where you can see everything at a glance, and it won't clutter the whole, tiny FOV of the killer up and be distracting.

    Wait a minute...

  • I don't really like when people argue something is fine because "There's a chance you might not even get to use it." Imagine if you applied that same logic to countless other perks, like NOED. "NOED is fine because there's a chance I kill all the survivors before I get to use it."

I don't think you should be able to unhook yourself any more than people shouldn't be able to get themselves up off the ground themselves, or even heal themselves without a medkit. It's a team game after all. But at least if someone uses it, it's pretty safe to assume they have DS anyway.

But again, if you're using Deliverance, then the most likely scenarios are that you use it when the killer isn't close, in which case you'll have deactivated it because you'll be safe, or you'll use it when the killer is nearby, in which case the killer will see you're unable to heal and 100% assume you have DS and leave you slugged.

Either way, it's not a big deal, but DS still runs into issues itself when it comes to the endgame. But if you reach that point, you've kind of already lost anyway.

  • I'd be fine with them fixing the bugs on some maps and the bugs that she's had for years now.

  • Everyone uses it as an anti-tunnel perk, everyone calls it an anti-tunnel perk, but now people are coming out and pretending like it isn't one. The developers have never said since it's rework it is ONLY an anti-tunnel perk, just that it isn't 100% by design one, which is also why the new DS still has ways it can be used in a non-tunnel situation.

If you go out of your way to do nothing for 60 seconds, you're simply a player who wants to abuse it, and therefore it's irrelevant to adjust it because x person will be useless. Do you really want to cater to toxic people? If not, then that teammate would've found other ways to be useless anyway.

If you do an action that assumes you are safe, with the exception of being healed under a hook, you should not have DS activated. And that is the case, bar lockers. There is enough second chance BS in this game as it is, and this still remains a viable way ontop of things like BT that allows you to avoid, or extend, ACTUALLY being tunneled. People are just angry they can't use it when they put themselves into situations they shouldn't because they don't have a safety net.

  • There's also places where the Nurse can't even blink onto, for example on Plague's map there's a place where she can't blink in the central area. Basically if you play Nurse, welcome to bug hell.

  • A lot of people coming out of the woodwork trying to pretend like DS isn't an anti-tunnel perk so it shouldn't be nerfed, eh?

  • No kidding, right? Think about how it is now. The killer has to mentally distinguish between specific survivors, and if they're the same looking survivor, they have to pay attention to their names. They have to pay attention to who happens to get saved before shifting to second state, pay attention to who may have DS, and a ton more.

SO WHY? Why tf would survivors be given that type of information more easily and not both sides?

  • This is a change that's been suggested by every single forum out there, and it's also been constantly suggested by really popular, knowledgeable and skilled streamers. It's been suggested ever since it was "nerfed" quite a while back.

  • These developers and keeping something the same or not changing something despite overwhelming backlash, name a more iconic duo.

I will straight up not even play this game due to that mobile, vomited everywhere UI, and I've never not played this game due to something like that outside of when my queues took 10-15 mins as a killer.

  • How many things survivors can do themselves. Unhook themselves. Heal themselves. Get themselves up off the ground multiple times with 2 perks. Make up for a mistake by pushing E. Sit in the killers face until the last second because SB. Stun the killer because DS a minute and a half later due to a late save. The inability to use tunneling as a strategy when you might be playing Wraith and they're slamming gens and are really good at looping because perks.

What really bothers me is the developers thinking you can balance a game based purely on statistics. It bothers me that they don't understand their own game and refuse to listen to people far more knowledgable in it than they are in the form of really good streamers. It bothers me they've completely monetized the game yet they haven't improved the rift and have left it at 70 tiers so people buy it. I hate 60 of those tiers are total garbage.

I hate more than I love about this game but I still enjoy it. I simply wish the developers at the top of the food chain were replaced.

  • Sounds like the only complaint you have is that PC killers are on average better than console and you need to improve your gameplay :)

If you have a PS5 and you can't use FPS as an excuse, at least.

  • Technically she requires you to listen, look, and if the survivors are good, mindgame. So, actually she does require skill. KIllers that don't require skill would be someone like Freddy. She asks more from you as a player than many of the killers. Just because she's frustrating to play against or, well, quite often can do things that take no skill like simply just standing in one spot not even in her power, doesn't take away from the times she does.

  • Vast majority of this playerbase is somewhat new or simply bad at the game, so they can't really comprehend why some minor changes like simple actions removing it are necessary. The others are just people who enjoy it being busted and abusing it. It's really that simple.

In the same respect you have an equal divide among killers. You have terrible killers who go out of their way to tunnel because they're bad at the game and aren't skilled enough in chases or applying pressure. And then you have really good killers who are very good at those things but they constantly have to deal with/get hit unsuspectingly by DS because they're efficient and the survivors they play are also skilled and know how to make you lose a ton of time/pressure.

What this means is you need to strike a balance between those two things to balance it, and the best way you can do it is what the overwhelming majority of people have suggested; make DS last far longer than 60 seconds but make it drop upon most any action.

  • Pig has some of the highest killrates in the game, and based on statistics that means that she's one of the strongest killers in the entire game.

That's why everyone ranks her top tier and why you see Pig everywhere in ga- oh wait.

I find her fun to play, though. She just suffers from you being screwed by bad RNG, and she's only really strong at shorter loops with her power, and it isnt hard to avoid them in your looping.

  • I think balancing things like DS falls into the same pit as balance in general. People who have a firm understanding of this game and things that would probably be beneficial to the health of it no longer bother. Why voice your concerns, why apply your logic, why attempt to lay out your reasoning for things when people who are so clueless try to argue against it? The developers themselves not listening to their community is one thing, but when a large collective of incredibly smart, talented and just plain knowledge streamers are constantly explaining what is wrong and suggesting how to fix it, and you also ignore them; why bother? Even THEY have stopped wasting their time because they've accepted that, for years, they've never been heard, either. Who cares about anyone but new players?

That's pretty my reasoning for not wasting my time trying to explain to people in threads like this the problems with DS, because you read the responses and you see people say idiotic things like "It's fine it only punishes you if the killer tunnel" make my IQ drop.

  • That clip just sounds to me like they're saying what they've always said about DS: "The community calls it an anti-tunneling perk, which it is totalllly not designed as, and therefore it is fine"

Old DS wasn't designed for anti-tunnel, but the redesign specifically designed it as such. Just because you want to pretend it isn't something doesn't mean that it isn't only viewed as it, but also used as such.

  • 60 seconds of complete immunity is not any more healthy for the game than the Ruin/Undying combo.

If you are injured an you touch a generator then you should lose DS, because doing so implies that you feel safe. You should feel the need to heal yourself, be healed, or be cautious of your positioning should the killer stumble upon you.

People who defend it just like the reap the benefits of something that's really not fair. DS does its job against bad killers with your average survivor, so people think it's fine. It's when you have skilled survivors using it, even against a skilled killer, that makes you realize how broken it is.

But you can't really expect people to understand this type of stuff that has been explained extensively and in videos by people far smarter, because the vast majority of the playerbase is, quite frankly, not very good at the game, so how can you expect them to understand? I think most people have never had to deal with the really bad feeling side of DS because they simply don't play killer or do not play it enough.

  • Uh, you realize that people wouldn't "still be complaining about DS" if they actually nerfed one of the most busted perks in the game, that has been complained about for ages, right?

  • I think Scott's video makes this make a lot of sense. A lot of the really good survivors and killers have simply left the game behind because they're played so long, and now what's mostly left is newer players.

What it leaves you with is a large population on both sides that are inexperienced, and with the way the game currently works, it's much easier to learn to play and win against a mediocre killer than it is 4 mediocre survivors. Do gens, loop "decently" and you can win quite easily. So it results in a lot of killers who powered through the ranks of new, bad survviors to 6-1 ranks, and come in contact with survivors who are just good enough to make them realize they can't handle it.

Of course, that also leads to imbalance, because there's also a large % of the population that are, quite simply, terrible in red ranks that should not be there. It's easy to get discouraged. But I think a lot of the killer population simply hated the new killer, and with no rift, a lot of people probably took a DBD break. I don't see these Clown changes or PTB notes doing anything but making them not wish to return.

  • I feel sorry for people without the brain capacity to understand why DS is such a big problem, especially with UB. Maybe you ought to go watch some videos of some of the best killers in the game and their Youtube videos on it to understand from the perspective of people actually good at the game.

  • You know people used to say that Ruin/Undying could be countered by "Just do the totems" yet it was still busted and did too much for bad killers.

Yet here we are in the exact same position with DS, people say "Just slug lole" when it's still just as busted and too strong even for bad survivors. Of course, the difference being a) UB makes that irrelevant, and B) Slugging, while generating a bit of pressure and time without UB, isn't a hook state, and if the person the killer happens to go interact with is decent at looping, that slug time? It's irrelevant.

A perk like DS allowing what it allows people to do isn't healthy whatsoever, it never has been. People who don't understand this game can't understand how broken it is, because they only see it as "Dur, stops bad tunlrs" they probably are bad players, they don't quite understand what makes it such a big problem that's never really addressed.

It's always amazing how the killer has to assume every survivor has DS and should "just slug" or else they'll lose so much pressure and time. But that's okay. I've never really known another perk to give so much power to multiple people by virtue of "possibly having it"

  • At night is the best time to play this game as a killer because that's when all the bad survivors start to play, around 9pm or so. Surprised there's a lack of killers during it, but with the state of killer currently it isn't exactly surprising when it's not fun to beat up bad survivors any more than it is to deal with seal team six gen jockies.

I don't run Ruin/Undying, but I come back now and then to play, having 3k+ hours in the game, and when I play killer I get kind of depressed how fast and close I come to losing, someone with my skill and knowledge, just because generators go so fast and you need to deal with so much garbage, second chance perks. I'd just rather play a fun game, it's just not fun lol. At least years ago I had fun as a newer killer because a lot of my doing poorly was me doing things badly and learning, but now it's just the state of the game. But I've more or less just accepted that and only play survivor with friends now.

Years ago at least when I lost it was the state of the game too, and the fact the playerbase was smaller, and much more skilled. I lost because of good survivors, who knew how to loop. These days I lose because you can have 4 bad survivors but because they sit on generators and have the second chance perks they do, you lose to even bad players, or almost lose. It's really...weird.

  • I usually never run it because there are better perks if you're playing solo. The amount of time I run DS and never get to use it is so high that I don't use it. The only reason I run it sometimes is because, for some reason when I don't run DS, NO ONE ELSE HAS IT and its easy for a killer to tunnel. So I literally waste a perk slot for the sole purpose of the threat of making the killer see I have DS and other people may have DS.

It's kind of messed up when just the idea that every survivor MIGHT have a perk that is incredibly strong makes a killer play completely differently. But hey, what is balance to this team

  • It punishes good killers for being good at the game and rewards survivors for saving late in the time the killer could have downed/hooked another survivor, with so much time going by you don't realize that injured person sitting on a gen has it. Altnernatively it does its job against killers who do specifically go out of there way to tunnel. But we pretend that it's okay for the good killers because well, they're good, they should be able to just "Deal with" something that is broken.

If you think total immunity for 60 seconds, even moreso with UB, is healthy, but Ruin/Undying is not, then you're lacking some brain power.

  • How fair is it? You sat on a gen. INJURED. With someone else who could've healed you. Against a Nurse who will 100% have BBQ. The only unfairness is your inability to use your brain lol

I swear 99% of the people who complain about Nurse are just terrible survivors, and they play against really bad, mediocre at best Nurse's, but because they lack ANY sort of skill or critical thinking, or in game knowledge, they just think every one of them is an MLG unfair pro.

  • Why does a thread unironically using a "🤔" not just get instantly locked?

  • Because everyone uses DS and the majority who play this game are survivors, not killers. Complaining about DS, which came from all sides and parts of the community, for years, evidently is less important and impactful than Undying, which received changes very quick. Also, something something keys being changed btw.

Just change everything for survivors and leave killers, after all there's a severe shortage of killers for no real reason :)

  • They looked at their statistics, which is all they know how to do, and decided she is fine. Because they don't understand how to balance their own game and because they've created imaginary "win" conditions for balance to make balance easier. Dur, 2 kill. 2 Survive. Iz balance!!!

  • Because it's a survivor party game. 4 survivors, often playing with friends, not that there's anything wrong with that, vs 1 killer

How do you really think they're going to allow to have the most fun?

Maybe if they created this game and balanced it around the expectation that every survivor was very likely to die it would be better, but it isn't.

  • @KateDunson said:

An item that makes u win just because a certain number of gen/kill has been done can't be balanced.

BuT yOu NeEd To Do GenErAtOrS So ItS BaLaNcEd

  • Why do some people define their entire selves by their sexuality? Like they, as a person, are nothing but what they define as their sex or sexual preferences? Trans I can understand because that is different than something like being gay, but the reality is a lot of people these days are really just getting tired of the massive amounts of people wanting to have this type of sexuality, this type of race, this type of that.

Like, I would rather have the ability to play an elf, or an orc, not just another human that's got different colored skin and likes the same gender. Besides, why would you want a character and their lore to say that they might be bisexual? Like, unless that character has specific, you know, clothing, or trinkets, or things that show that type of thing, then it seems a big empty to have a little spot in their bio saying it.

  • The way I feel about DBD right now is how Dunkey felt about league.

  • Bro, the problem is their 3 month schedule and their lack of manpower to keep up with it. I can't imagine how overworked these devs are, like most are in the industry.

    You already pay for

    The game

    DLCs

    Individual characters

    The rift if you choose

    Cosmetics

The entire game is monetized and you want to give them more money? I don't think that's going to help.

  • How about a "How often does the killer tunnel when there is no obsession showing/DS in the game"

  • I used to play against the same people all the time about 3 years ago because the community was much smaller. I think I've played against every top DBD streamers from NA at one point, remember making some of the more toxic ones ragequit, didn't seem them much after that since I probably got MLGA'd by them for playing Nurse. Lol

Communities a little too big these days, but I don't run into anyone but smaller streamers who are generally pretty nice

  • it's because BHVR, in fact, does absolutely nothing to enforce against it. too bad they can't ban people in game for being toxic as easily as they'll ban you on official/steam forums for literally nothing at all

finding it "fun" to be toxic just makes you a manbaby. not caring about people acting like children and not going out of your way to be toxic is how you tell the adults from the babies, friend.

  • I don't see how there's anything wrong with one killer and their power countering a specific perk. It's no different than countless other perks, like bringing DS but not being able to use it, or Unbreakable, or countless others because of some reason or another.

  • Every other match? Broken? Uh, yeah, I guess anything can be considered broken if you play the exact same way every game against every killer.

  • why don't survivors leave when they're in the thing labelled "exit'? Do you think killers care about your minor pity points or finding a survivor teabagging?

Sometimes I'll go AFK to piss or grab a drink to let the survivor get the hatch, come back 5 minutes later and they've got a crow overthemselves because they wanted to wait, waste their time and let me see them go into the hatch. It's why I just kill everyone now.

  • Ormund rework:

"We've made zero gameplay balance changes whatsoever, but we've added some breakable walls to a map that's already the worst map in the game for killers. We didn't change every loop connecting, we didn't change the map size, but hey, check out these sick new graphics and how cool they are!"
