  • When I play with Nurse I can see her hand holding her weapon and I can also see more of my dress when I am blinking, and that is with Shadowborn, which I couldn't do before. So yes, there's something going on with it. Just looking at the size of the Nurse hand without SB tells me there is a FOV increase

  • I love how these people make up all these excuses for why we can't have DC penalties, yet 3k hours in I rarely ever see any of them.

Why not just admit you're a scumbag that wants to DC for any reason you can, freely, without punishment, and ruining the game for 4 other people, and you want to blame it on anything you can so you it's removed? At least you'd be believable then.

These bugs happen so rarely that when they do, well, maybe you eat a 5 min penalty. Get up and stretch your legs, then.

  • So is an Exhaustion perk + DS every game.

It just makes it so you can't slam gens and end a game very quickly, at the price of 2 perk slots *that can be removed* if the killer applies pressure to you.

  • I mean it's basically Sprint Burst without the Burst, giving you more than enough time to run to your desired route and get to a pallet before the killer reaches you. I would say it was a little too strong if it weren't for Exhaustion perks/Small pp/DS

  • Context for statistics only matters in the case of Nurse apparently, so we'll never know from the devs POV.

Generally speaking, people often play what is strong, or what they're best at, or what they do the best with. Since no one really picks Pig, that means anyone who does in large capacity will do well with her, especially when you consider people don't often own Pig because her perks aren't great and nor is she.

The one thing you should understand about a lot of statistics is there are a ton of variables in play. If you look at a statistic, and look at the KR number, and you think about nothing else and that is where you base your opinion, then you're really ignorant. So, good on you for asking a legitimate question, sir.

To me, the majority of killers in lower KR/Mid KR in red ranks compared to the ones at the highest KR, bar Freddy and Spirit, are actually surprising. I think that speaks volumes towards how these devs balance the game and my own personal experiences on being R1 for 3 1/2 years. If you told me, statistically speaking, Doc is S Tier, Nurse is F tier, and Hag is mid tier, I'd question your sanity.

  • he can slow at loops, he can teleport and have synergy with a ton of perks, he can slow down your progress, but trapper can't start with two traps by default. But wait, trapper has near 60% killrate, which means he's perfectly balanced. You guys know how strong Trapper is, right? Right?

  • Oh my, that developer explaining OoO and statistics really explains the sorry state of balance in this game. I just can't be nice about someone who balances a game and thinks that way, I just can't do it. It's not surprising coming from someone who, after joining the team, immediately starts pushing to nerf Ruin because it was a problem, but then did absolutely nothing to fix the problem Ruin solved.

Hello? A killer is more likely to tunnel and camp the OOO user out of the game, and if you don't do that and ignore them, then if it is SWF they're giving a ton of information to people about everything that will make you lose. A perk isn't "fine" because said people who use it often die, because you're looking at the statistics of them living/dying and not what that single person is doing for their entire team REGARDLESS of if they die or not.

This person really needs to stop looking at everything as a statistic.

  • Yet I bet you still use DS when you have it equipped and the killer doesn't tunnel you, right? If DS is active and you play aggressively, or especially have UB, right?

  • "It's not a nerf, it's useful on like two maps" - Someone, somewhere.

Honestly I kind of regret even saying I wish the devs took a more aggressive approach to balancing perks, because it's pretty clear to me why they don't. They make bad perks worse, they make bad perks barely better, and they leave OP perks alone because they're too afraid to touch them. Why can't you make such bad decisions on the meta perks that make this game suck? Who even complained about DISCORDANCE?

  • Dead Hard removes you being punished in a chase by being outplayed, or you making a mistake, by allowing you to be safe instead of going down. It allows you to make pallets/vaults you otherwise wouldn't. This amounts to a ton of wasted time and pressure toward the killer. All four survivors can use it like this, all four survivors can have it up every chase. It is, by definition, completely busted.

Sprint Burst allows you to sit on a gen until the very last moment. No fear of BBQ. No fear knowing the killer is looking at you. No fear the killer is coming toward you. You safely add gen time to a generator and sprint to a pallet, completely safe. It removes the ability to punish a survivor palying greedy and rewards you for being selfish.

These perks are, by every account, broken. Yet they'll never be changed and no one complains about them because 90% of the playerbase is incapable of using them to their maximum effect. If you want to know a clueless survivor who is bad from a good survivor, look and see if they mention, even once, using DH as a reaction, and not for distance.

This is completely ignoring the fact it completely counters some killers powers. Imagine being a Nurse and using 2 amazing blinks to get a hit, but it gets outdone by a DH. So you enter fatigue, stun, recharge and the survivor gets a ton of distance. This applies to other killers, like Blight. This is severe against M1 killers. It works against, say, a Trapper's trap. It is competely broken, like all Exhaustion perks.

  • Evidently the people who complain about Huntress hitboxes have literally never played the countless amount of FPS where you say to yourself "Dude, I just got hit around a corner."

Welcome to online gaming that isn't specifically a DBD or Huntress issue. Strange how projectiles and networking works. Some things simply have to have larger hitboxes to function.

  • DS is a perk that does its job well against bad killers who specifically go out of their way to tunnel people.

DS is also a perk that punishes good killers for being good, because you end chases quickly.

It also rewards good survivors for playing greedy and taking full advantage of the fact they have 60 seconds of immunity. Don't have to heal. Don't have to be afraid. Can just sit on a gen without a care instead of doing the things they should be doing after being unhooked. If you are injured and just got unhooked, you should not be so unafraid of the killer that you just sit on a generator.

The biggest issue is that it seems like it's 2 minutes long by virtue of how long a survivor is both on the hook and the fact that if you unhook the survivor really late in their state, the killer could have ended another chase in that time, then found the injured survivor after being unhooked, or sitting on a gen and being surprised they still have it.

I think Exhaustion perks are more busted than DS, though, because like DS they, too, reward greed and bad play.

    OK HEAR ME OUT!

Killers that require you to get M1's without using their power take a lot of skill. Against good survivors getting an M1 takes SOOOO much effort. Therefore I say Wraith, Michael, Pig, Plague, Legion, Trapper, and even GF to an extent require a lot of skill IMO.

That doesn't really take skill, it takes the survivors making mistakes. Nothing to do with the skill of a killer. You could make an argument for Trapper and running people in a specific way to get them to go over your trap in a weird spot, but that's about it. M1 killers require the least amount of skill out of every killer by virtue of being M1 killers.

  • Oh look, a thread about people gatekeeping the survivor rulebook.

I've been playing this game for 4 years and I've in the top leaderboards for quite a few things, and I'll tunnel someone if I need the pressure. If survivors are doing everything they can to slam gens, and I'm not doing poorly except due to maybe a killer I'm playing or a map I'm on, then bet I'll try to get someone out.

If you specifically go out of your way each and every game to tunnel one person, guess what? BT exists. DS exists. You have all the tools you need to last longer, the exception being your own skill in looping and not being garbage at the game. But if you DO go out of your way to do that every game, then sure, I'd say you're a bad killer when you do it at 4-5 gens.

  • Exhaustion perks. They reward mistakes, reward you for playing greedy, and are far too strong when every survivor tends to have one, that will be up for, most likely, every chase.

The single most busted tier of addons in the entire game for survivors currently, but no one really talks about them.

  • how is it a nerf? it encourages survivors to heal which, not having a healing debuff anymore, wastes their time by forcing healing or facing the buff it received by not healing. Are you dumb

  • Deathslinger probably a bit more than not scary if he has M&A

  • Another Scott video? I fear it's filled with far too much logic for the developers to bother watching.

  • There's 4 survivors and 1 killer, so obviously they're going to make the game more fun for the majority, while making it tolerable for the minority.

  • DBD is a casual game, it's not meant to be taken seriously

Literally the same people: Disconnect whenever they feel like it for any reason at all, while also being completely against the DC penalty so they can freely DC. You know, because they don't take the game seriously.

  • Nurse scream and Billy chainsaw are the two reasons why I have to turn my volume down by about 30% compared to other killers. This has the obvious negative effect of making me not hear survivors, which, surprise is unironically very important for Nurse

  • I think it's more about them being too afraid to make any big changes to things like that, especially when it relates to survivors and their meta perks.

  • I don't see why it should be nerfed, it's not like Unbreakable/DS has been touched despite an overwhelming amount of feedback for a year. At least if you deal with the bones the killer has 2 perks.

  • What's funny is you can use the same logic they applied to PGTW to DS. It allows you far too much time to feel completely safe and immune (even moreso with Unbreakable) by allowing you to sit on a gen, not heal, or get into a chase to waste the killers time and hop in a locker. You should feel an "urgency" to be more proactive and safe when you've just been unhooked and are injured.

  • Imagine defending one person completely ruining the game for 4 other people. Suppose self-centered people would be the ones to defend it in any way they can to enjoy the benefits of it.

Every single game out there punishes you if you disconnect enough, even if it's casual, even if it has backfill, even if it isn't competitive, they hit you with one. It's like that for a reason. But far be it from me to attempt to write a long winded argument to debate logic with the toxic dumb dumbs who defend it.

I always find it funny how people use this reason or that to justify it, when the reality is they're just using the best example, as rare as it may be, when the reality they use it for even the more tiny, irrelevant reason because they can. Why not just admit it? It isn't like this is a LoL game, where you're stuck in a game you might lose for what? 20 minutes or something? DBD games are short, so it's kind of pathetic you can't even play it out. And if people will just "kill themselves on hook" then perhaps it's time to stop looking that as a reason to not have a penalty (which it is not) and instead look into maybe finding a way to prevent that, too.

  • The same people who say "Pop goes the braincell". They need to find excuses for a perk like that in the hopes it gets nerfed, though we completely ignore the fact that it's 2 perk slots you can completely remove from the killer by doing totems. Of course this is the part where I would bring up Exhaustion perks, DS/Unbreakable/Soul Guard, but they're not killer related so they're okay.

  • The fact you think he's on par or better than a pro Nurse makes everything you have to say about balance completely irrelevant.

It wasn't a good thing to be in your power and have a survivor drop the pallet, only for you to have to wait for your power to end as you sit in it, enter fatigue, break the pallet and wait for your power to recharge while the survivors walks away. Guess what? Even Oni, a character who has insane mobility in his power can break a pallet inside of it.

He still has the issue of a survivor simply moving to the left or right, using Dead Hard, or hiding behind an object as a means to completely negate his power. That's very little effort on the survivors part for what may be a ton of effort on the Blight's. I suppose it's easy for people who don't understand how to counter a killer in their power, or they simply play against bad survivors, to understand the fatal flaws a killer has but still manages to think they're S tier.

  • You put in a lot of effort with Blight for a basic M1 attack, and the survivors can put in barely any effort to

    a - sidestep your lunge

b - use dead hard, force you into a stun and power recharge, thus getting to a pallet

c - hide behind an object to completely negate your power, which doesn't always get them to safety but it very often does

d - remove 100% of you as a threat by simply dropping a pallet if you enter your power in a loop area you might be able to get a hit off on them at

I think good survivors show how mediocre he is. All he has going for him is his ability to always pressure a survivor up close and pressure generators, but that isn't enough to win you games against good survivors. These people comparing him to Nurse and calling him A tier are completely clueless

  • At the end of the day it's the developers that made and balance this game, so if you have a problem with the things people do you should direct your anger towards them. Don't expect people not to do things that the game allows them to do within its rules. Generally speaking when you try to balance this game to deal with the "frustrating" aspects, you tend to severely affect balance, as many survivor perks tend to show us. Basically it punishes people who play by the rules and rewards people who do not. Welcome to DBD balance.

  • In theory? Yes. In practice? If the survivor isn't complete garbage, it doesn't take much movement to completely avoid that. Of course you may have less opportunity with the addon, I doubt it shifts it that much.

You can't exactly say "Lole I invented this theory" and all of your basis for it is "In theory he could be amazing" Yeah? Go try it for yourself on some decent survivors.

Plenty of people do this without addons already, the difference is sometimes they don't take the window and take the pallet, or the other way around. The problem is, again, dashing right at a survivor doesn't negate a survivor ability to deal with you by virtue of your lunge having no control.

  • Imagine using your power in a unique way and then having someone literally just hide behind a generator to counter it, force you into stun, and power CD, and then getting away for free. I've also never seen a killer get so punished for using their power when a pallet is dropped.

Perfectly sums up this pathetic killers design. Lol

  • Well, here's the thing: If every killer in the game had the mobility that Freddy has, they'd all be much closer to him. Even making all of the maps smaller and relatively the same size so that less mobile killers become stronger and high mobility killers can't really take a huge advantage in having it. Closing maps into smaller sizes also allows for less strength from literally holding Shift W and creating more mind game pallets that lets you use skill to out play your opponent.

For example, Clown is like Freddy, except he's worse because he doesn't have map pressure. Why would you play Clown, when you can play Freddy? You might say because a Clown can close the distance in a chase pre-pallet, but if the survivor lets you do that, then they're not a good survivor. Even Demo. Like, killers like Huntress/Deathslinger at least get punished due to a slow movement speed, but a killer like Freddy has map pressure and is really strong at loops, too, and he's 115%.

I mean I can sit here and talk about this for an hour but to sum it up, it isn't Freddy that's the problem. The fact Wraith doesn't by default move faster when cloaked and needs addons, which not only affect is mobility but also his ability to block pallets/windows? The fact Trapper doesn't even have a brown bag by default? The fact Iri heads exist? Some things when you start to talk about the balance of this game when you begin asking questions really blow your mind.

  • The Nurse hippy/pizza skin. Absolutely disgusting

  • Well, third times the charm? Fourth? Sorry, I lost track. Any other games have this issue...ever? Curious.

  • It's terrible for killers as well. If you hear someone working on a generator above you, sometimes you have to walk all the way down one hallway, up stairs, then down that hallway again to get to it. It's another prime example of a small map being super punishing and large. Your talking about Freddy and Hag are also completely irrelevant, because that same logic can be applied to basically the vast majority of maps, unrelated to Midwich.

It's probably one of the worst maps in the entire game for a ton of reasons, for both sides. But hey, at least it looks awesome.

  • The nice thing about playing killers like Spirit, Nurse, Pyramid Head, Huntress, Deathslinger and such, is that you can use their powers and your skill as a player to get hits. You never feel like you're completely helpless in any chase because you have the ability to deal with it. The survivors can still use skill to deal with it, but a really good killer will take you out relatively quick enough. Spirit, however, does this a little too well at times. You might lose games because the survivors play well, you don't play your best, the map sucks or is just too big, stuff like that, but you never feel like things are very often your fault.

That is why people dislike M1 killers, because you can camp and drop every single pallet on the map and an M1 killer will never be able to apply enough pressure and hook your team enough to win if the survivors are half decent and sit on gens. That is why people don't play M1 killers. Why would I willingly play a set group of killers that place me at a severe disadvantage and increase the stress and decrease the fun and enjoyment I have in a game? More importantly, why are these killers not buffed?

  • People would just use it to surrender whenever things aren't going their way, they get a killer they dislike, a map they dislike, or they're just against a good killer. Too many ways to abuse something like that, and games/bleed out isn't really long enough to justify any sort of benefit over the abuses that come from it.

  • @SavouryRain said:

Hit and run seems to work best with him.

Obviously if someone is in a dead zone, down them. But just a simple hit and recloak and find someone else does wonders for his map pressure.

Plus always recloak after every hit and chase while invisible to bodyblock pallets and vaults and the like.

It doesn't really work best though, because no one is afraid of a Wraith, a killer most easily looped to oblivion. Why would I heal against a killer I can so easily just loop? Even if he does catch me, he'll never be able to apply enough pressure or hook enough people faster than we can do generators.

Wraith should have a green windstorm for map pressure by default, just like trapper should have, at the very least, a brown bag by default. These killers are no where near strong enough to not justify such minor buffs. Maybe we would see more less common killers if we made changes like that.

  • You mean someone who is one of the best and most knowledgable killers, who plays the game for a living, managed to get at least 3 kills every game? Especially now with all the boosted console players?

Wow. I'm so shocked, this revelation has now revealed and opened my eyes to how balanced a killer like Legion is. I can't believe I didn't realize Legion was secretly S tier this whole time.

  • Playing greedy? Sprint Burst. Playing greedy? Spinechill. Playing greedy? Dead Hard. Playing invincible mode? UB/DS. Crazy how they have all these perks that reward you for making mistakes, yet hey, Pop is OP and we should nerf something that actually rewards you for hooking people the more you do it.

Exhaustion perks have always been busted, yet it's one of those things people rarely make a big deal about.

  • Oh no, the survivor is saving their teammate immediately after they're hooked with BT, and while they might take a hit, they're still not able to be punished for what should be an unsafe, bad save because they're using BT!

Wow. That's crazy how a perk meant for one thing can be abused and you're not smart enough to understand it! Let me guess, DS is fine because any time you ever get hit with it for any reason whatsoever it's because you're tunneling? Durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • #justiceforthehilled

Alternatively, and since you're aware of the bug, isn't it sort of... you know, your own fault? For ruining "countless games" because you wandered too close to the hill corner? I mean it doesn't seem like an overly difficult thing to fix

  • Ever since doing crossplay all my toxic matches have been against toxic survivors. The ironic part, however, is they're probably so used to bullying 20 fps console killers they don't realize they have zero skill to back up their toxicness against good PC killers. Pretty much the only thing that console players do well is getting generators done while they're not busy getting downed in 20 seconds. But yeah, that definitely carries over when you get those same toxic people as your teammates.

  • Shift+W is strong even if you're a bad player and go no where because it wastes a ton of time, especially on large maps and especially if you run where gens are done.

More pallets/walls that force mind games and skill while decreasing map size, thus forcing more interaction with looping would make the game better.

  • I mean you can practically become invisible on Spirit's and Deathslinger's current maps with that grass, yet they somehow think that's acceptable, so do you really think they're not going to make these maps be more "immersive" of an experience? Of course they will, and it'll ruin the "experience" for killers. Unfortunately, as all the new indoor maps can tell you, "looks" are more important than gameplay.

If only they put as much priority upgrading their optimization and accessibility to 2020 standards as they do graphics, but, again, that tells you all you need to know.

  • Spinechill is overpowered as it alerts you of danger to immediately hide or get to a pallet. This is specifically strong with SB. It's basically Sprint Burst without the burst.

All Exhaustion perks prevent the punishing of mistakes, so does Spinechill for being out of position, same as they do. People just don't talk about it because compared to other perks it goes under the radar.

  • If you had 7 games where this happened in one day when, in my memory, I can't remember it happening in years, it seems like the issue is you making assumptions.

I mean for all you know the killer might just have killed 3 people and decided to just farm with the last guy. I do that sometimes if it was an easy game or they burn bp offerings if the survivor implies they want to.

  • Honestly it would be cool if they could add a secondary area to chat in game. Even adding something like guilds, allowing whispers. Guilds would really be neat because they could add bigger challenges that a whole guild could do

idk even little things like apologizing for doing something dumb, or complementing a killer, or just saying gg, as meaningless as it might seem to some people are nice. Just cuz some people aren't social and wouldn't care if these forums, reddit, or anything else exists doesn't mean people don't want it
