Yeah, all survivors have to do is travel in pairs and use lockers and there's nothing they can do.
I know that you always like to assume the worst, and the literal best case scenario for the survivors when talking balance, but honestly what survivors are gonna stay grouped together like that except the best ones (which, unless they're a 4-man, is never gonna happen because they're always gonna be matched with weak links that any killer can take out of the game and win that way without much trouble).

Yep, I'll play 2 or 3 games then I'm just done and no longer want to play that day, maybe even for the whole week. I watch streams more than play the game itself. It's a lot more enjoyable than actually playing.
The constant atrocious bugs each patch (some carrying over to the next patches, some being in the game for over a year...), the wild imbalance, the awful maps, the grind that never stops... it's embarrassing.

Or making him miss. Do you really believe that DS players are bots? If you are unpredictable with your movement, he will miss.
The more you try and make your movement 'unpredictable', the more distance he's covering quicker due to how his ranged attack works. This is the problem people have with him. You have no idea, nor any chance of gaining an idea, when he's gonna shoot because it's so quick. If you think he's gonna shoot (he wasn't going to but you have 0 way of knowing that), you start juking but you also very quickly start losing distance and the closer you are, the easier the shot. You don't juke and he hits you before you have time to react and with how the chain works now, you can't even fight back. I seriously don't know why they changed it to where you now can't influence the chain at all instead of having at least some influence over it. It gave him at least some idea of meaningful counterplay because you could actually get behind objects to break the chain somewhat, and the Deathslinger would have to backpedal to move you away from objects.

Believe it or not, not everything is bait that points out the truth or challenges your personal narrative. Skip the post if you can’t or won’t answer bud.
People might be willing to answer if you stop being so blatantly patronising and fishing for reactions. Just like the posts for the opposite end of the spectrum, there's a reason why everyone marks posts like yours as bait. Nobody takes these posts seriously because it's been done to death and they all have the same kind of tone that makes the post look like a mopey rant and not a willingness to discuss topics because they're getting responses that don't fit their narrative.

Are you sure they're promoting DCing? I haven't seen that myself. If they are that's kinda pathetic. I've seen a bunch of people joke about it which is fine. But...tbh, a lot of people in the community do take jokes seriously (see Sluzzy posts for more info)

I agree. You won’t find honest discussion on here sadly. This is killer main central and they’ll gang up on you to say it’s your fault, your bad at the game, and statistics aren’t real. It’s every post but you’re right. Basing a game on the skill of a red rank dude who plays 8 hours a day is not healthy for the regular play base and it shows. Survivor sucks to play. It’s basically a kill simulator for killers now to get easy 4K games each round.
At this point you and a couple others are whining and playing victim more than the killer mains.
-
Meh, I like playing him. For...some reason. He's a killer with a projectile and that's good enough for me. He's not bottom tier but he's not great.

Can we stop calling everything bait threads? People have different opinions on things and that's fine.
When we stop seeing new accounts with 1 post ranting about how they're quitting the game and blaming one side as the main reason why they're quitting, I'll stop calling them bait threads. Because this reads exactly like a hundred other posts before by accounts with 1 post and trying to get a reaction from mains of the side they're complaining about. Killers do it too with the whole "survivors genrush and run in circles guys I can't play this game anymore :("

New Evil Dead Asymmetric game is coming out.... that complacency isn't gonna cut it for long.
The Evil Dead game isn't gonna do ######### to DbD. No game can touch it. DbD is pretty much a monopoly at this point and a game's gonna have to be REALLY good for it to be even considered competition to DbD.
That, and a bunch of streamers need to consistently play the game instead of playing once for a stream and then never touching it again like Home Sweet Home.

Because the killer has to be hard!!!11 If she isn't, how can I make my one and only bad excuse for her unbalance and existence in the current state of the game >:(
-
Yep, this is how we all feel. 600 hours in I feel like I've unlocked barely anything, and everytime I think "oh I might play this killer" I quickly remember that I don't yet have BBQ on them because ######### RNG, and a lot of perks are at tier 1 because BHVR still expects people to unlock 70 perks 3 TIMES OVER. ON EVERY KILLER. It's insane how they still believe the grind is necessary.
They're fully aware of how bad it is, but they're not doing anything about it because they fear that players would play less because there's less of a grind, when in fact the exact OPPOSITE is happening. I wouldn't dare recommend this game to anybody in its current state. The grind is absurd.

It's not dumb when one niche perk single handedly turns a Killer into an uncounterable, unfun and unfair monster, with no chance for Survivors to use any other niche perks that are supposed to counter it but doesn't.
Like OP said, Bite the Bullet explicitly says it should me 'no noise'. It's not a percentage value like Iron Will (where it makes sense for it to clash with Stridor).
It says it's not a percentage value, but that's probably how they coded it. They probably make this perk apply first and set the grunts of pain to 0%, then stridor is applied.
Yes, it's dumb and it should be 0% regardless of stridor or jump rope etc. But this is BHVR and it appears they once again didn't think about that when coming up with the description for the perk lmao
-
Pretty underwhelming imo. His entire kit is a meh version of PH but now there are 2 zombies walking around at random that can, very rarely, be more than just a small portion of progress towards the next tier. He's not a bad killer by any means, but his main power can already be done by so many killers already that there's not much of a reason to play him. If I wanna hit people over loops I have Deathslinger, Huntress and Trickster for that. If I want a good zoning power I have all of the above + Demo and PH. If I want a fun secondary power that compliments my other ability I, again, can play Demo.
He doesn't really have an identity because all of his main power mechanics have been done to death already except the zombies, which are barely even worth mentioning and almost never do anything.
-
The only time TL walls become an issue is when there are 2 of them parallel to each other and you're a killer with no chase power. If you're a killer like Billy it's gonna take a while to get someone here, but even then bloodlust is still a thing and you'll eventually catch up because very fun and cool mechanic.
-
Can't believe none of you have mentioned shadowborn. I mean come on, why have an optional setting in the menus when you can use up an entire perk slot for an advantage that's so ambiguous you have absolutely no idea if it's actually helping! But hey, at least your eyes will be relieved having just escaped from low-FOV Hell.
-
Tbh I do kinda miss old ruin skillchecks, back when it was an actual skill check, but maybe that's nostalgia talking. I definitely hate playing against new Ruin a lot more though just because it can make matches slow to a ######### crawl and it turns into "who can stay awake the longest".
-
If we're right about how this game was developed, it'd be pretty easy for them to mess things up. DbD is built on a really bad foundation, to the point where even the smallest changes they make to the game have an extremely high chance of screwing up 50 other things. This happens with almost every other company's games, but they're not even close to the level of DbD's instability. It's getting to the point where it's almost unsalvageable. They need to do some serious work on their code soon before it becomes too big of a task to tackle, or it's just gonna get worse until it finally becomes unplayable on PS4/XB1, and barely functional on PC and current gen
-
I also hope it takes them a long time to get the map working. Even as someone who's religiously played the RE2 remake I despise playing on it in DbD. Sure it's a cool looking map but I'd rather do an entire playthrough of Umbrella Corps than play on that damn map again.

Those add-ons were fine.
In typical BHVR fashion, they don't look at WHY those add-ons are good, they just nerf them instead of trying to buff other add-ons to be on the same level
Tbh I've given up hoping for BHVR to look at the "why" as well as the "how", I don't think that's ever gonna happen lmao. At least the change did virtually nothing so we have that to be thankful for. There's no way they'd nerf them twice right?
...right?

I agree, there isn't MUCH difference.
However, it's the principle of the matter. It took them YEARS to buff him but they nerf him within weeks for no balance related reason.
They just didn't like people only using those add-ons
Well yeah obviously, they didn't like it because all 5 demo players left defaulted to using those two add-ons and nothing else because why would you. They're much better than almost every other add-on he has and they're only brown and yellow so you can run them indefinitely. Imo, I don't think it's such a bad thing, but BHVR don't like it, so they made some changes in the hopes that these 5 Demo players use a wider variety of add-ons.

dbd is not a horrorgame? ok tell me another story pls
It isn't. It's an asymmetrical multiplayer game with horror themes. If it's a horror game it would imply DbD is trying to be a game where you're scared to play it, and your main focus is taking in the atmosphere and being immersed in the game. That's not what DbD is, it's you vs a human opponent (or 4) and you're all completing objectives and whoever completes theirs first wins. The PvP comes first. The horror is secondary.

oh ok...well lets play an indoor...you cant tell me that you dont scare or cry if an myers or ghostface or any other killer without a terrorradius grabs you instant from a gen or stay behind of you or hit you instantly....
I...can tell you that I don't get scared of GhostFace or Myers on indoor maps because I've played this game for over 600 hours. No amount of jumpscares, dark maps or stealth killers is gonna scare you anymore after you've played for such a long time. DbD is not a horror game.
-
@PNgamer said:
6% ...is much cause it still activate...it doesnt matter if you injured or if you full and that´s an big diffrence
It's not a big difference. Your gen progress goes from 1 to 1.06 charges per second. And you'll only get that for a couple of seconds. So... you're looking at TENTHS of a second saved.
Like another guy said above I really hope you're baiting but I can't tell anymore, there's been so many threads about spine chill in the past.
-
You get the 6% bonus only when the killer looks at you. So between like 1 and 3 seconds tops. 6% extra progress on gens for 2 seconds is such a small amount it's not even worth discussing.
If you wanna play around spine chill, look away from the gen as you're approaching it. It literally couldn't be any more intuitive to counter spine chill.
And finally, this game is a multiplayer PvP game first, and a horror game second. That should always be the priority. Spine chill or not, you're not gonna be scared of DbD after the first 10 hours or so because you can't be scared of the same thing you've seen over and over already.
-
The aura of the totem that gets revealed is literally the furthest possible distance from the survivor after they cleanse their totem. They have to leg it across the map 4 times if they want all the totems gone, and they might get unlucky with the hex. That's several minutes of a survivor not doing anything but running across the map and doing bones. So at the start of the match, the game is a 3v1.

This. I also didn't find Billy fun nor did anyone I knew personally.
He was just everywhere. Doing a gen? brrrrrrr. Got a save? brrrrrrrr. on the gate? brrrrrrr. Trying to heal? brrrrrr. In chase brrrrrrr. Spamming one shots all the time.
I don't want "haha chainsaw go brrrrrr" back again. He's still a very strong killer (imo), he just can't spam the entire match anymore. With a power that one-shots, breaks pallets, and lets you zoom at the same speed as Blight for strong map pressure with no requirement besides holding a button, I think that's fair.
Old Billy wasn't balanced. His current add-ons might need touching up, but don't bring back spam Billy.
So really, you should be having the same issues with Billy now, because a good Billy hasn't changed and he'll still be on top of you almost no matter what. Why is he suddenly fine now that Billy can't "spam" his power, when that didn't matter to good players (the ones you don't like playing against), and also didn't matter to bad players because if they were "spamming" the saw they weren't getting anything done and it's not hard at all to play around a bad killer.

I think it was a poor choice of cosmetic for her...either by behaviour or capcom... doesn't really matter
Or hell, you wanna make it even close to worth 15 dollars and a legendary set? Take the actual, original PS1 model and put it in the game, like how RE2make had the same thing for Leon.

Ohhh, ok got it. Seems kind of dumb that you only have a few seconds to use it or it's just gone. Especially since it takes so many knives to charge it up.
Thanks a bunch everybody, I'll try again tomorrow and see if I can use it properly.
I wouldn't bother, Main Event is really bad. If the stars align and you're close to getting main event and, say, you're going to intercept a hook rescue then it's pretty good at bursting people down (something that Huntress and Bubba could do in half the time and with twice the efficiency but still...). But apart from that it's almost never useful.

what are you talking about. old wraith could run purple windstorm and all-seeing. statistically wraith's changes were that if you ran this exact same combination. he got an increase of... 8% speed, a 0.25 second longer speed boost and a lower shimmer. Its funny how dev suddenly got this idea that demo is suddenly "too strong" and how people someone got this idea that "All-seeing wraith" is this new concept that they never heard of.
All-seeing wraith has been in the game.... for like 2 years and nobody complained about him because he was rarely ever played and seen as not a remarkable killer. he has barely changed. his biggest changes is better add-on flexibility and a better lunge post-uncloaking making him significantly better at loops. Wraith players ran all-seeing+windstorm in the past... and I still run it even now.
You're missing the point man. All-seeing and windstorm was possible before, yes, but this meant you couldn't run a bell add-on or one of his other good add-ons alongside the good movement speed and all-seeing. But now, you can. 150% m/s, all-seeing and a silent/global bell or the sloppy butcher add-on, or purple swift hunt is very strong, and it's a little too much.

Its an iri bro... the killer won't be able to keep up a steady supply. Iri's should be strong and i am getting sick of bhvr and people demanding they be worse then brown addons.
It's a purple add-on, not an iri, and it's 12m of wallhacks on a killer that moves at 150% speed AND has the option of bringing a silent bell add-on, or a sloppy butcher add-on too on top of it all. The iri version lets you see gen progress which is strong and deserves being a red.
The add-on was ok before the nerf, but now with Wraith's new buffs it makes him a bit too overbearing.

Hard to be positive when everyone's had to put up with BHVR's BS for the past 5 years and the game has regressed this patch in terms of performance yet again, which was already terrible on console and has been since it launched on there. It's now unplayable for a lot of people. It's fine to act positive but don't go and insult others because they're not sharing the same positivity that you are.
-
Whenever I try to moonwalk through a pallet but the survivor was camping it and throws it, and I nearly have a heart attack after because I never expect it.
And of course, seeing a Meg come into view at any point in the match is enough to make any killer fear for their lives.

That IS pretty entitled though. You DC because you don't enjoy playing against a certain killer-perk combination when you have the option to just stick it out and not complain. A stridor Spirit is not fun to go against in the slightest I agree, but it's no reason to DC and screw over teammates because you don't like it.
-
You'd think that challenges would be just that: a challenge. But they're not. They're just busywork and grindy because they have to pad out these archives somehow. I want challenges that change up your playstyle but still give an incentive to play for the objective or for fun at the very least. Playing basement trapper is almost like you're not even playing the game anymore - you're grinding through a challenge and just trying to get it over with and no longer care about the game's objectives. That's not fun.
I really want challenges like these out of the archives, and more challenges involving different perks or characters instead because they're absolutely not good for the game.
-
It's just unnecessary padding, that's all it is. It's supposed to be tedious, and it's not supposed to be fun because unlocking new things in video games has to be a boring grind now I guess.
-
@CheeseAnton said:
For the ridiculous price BHVR is charging for these (even if they do get their own voice lines and such, a regular character with perks is still $10 cheaper) this should've been done from the very beginning.
Honestly wish you could buy a "legendary pack" in the store of a certain character for $15 to make it a more justified purchase (like, instead of getting Lisa Garland for $15, you get Lisa Garland (Legendary), Bloodied Lisa Garland (Legendary), Shattered Memories Lisa Garland (Legendary), and a Charm of something) so there is actual value other than a character that doesn't even feel like a character.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/DQKQ8DSH4BKW/legendary-packs-idea.png
(Because I like spending time in MS Paint, here's a rough explanation of what I was trying to describe in picture form. Not my best work, but then again none of them are. Note, you can view the models in 3D before having to buy it, I just don't know how it would work)
And even that would be pretty ridiculous price wise. 15 dollars for 3 cosmetics would be rather expensive even for the price of DLC now. 15 just for 1 single cosmetic is obscene.
I like the idea though. If BHVR made actual costume packs for this game...
-
@Dustin said:
Just going to say unless they either change Blight or the Resident Evil map Blight is going to be near unplayable on the newest map.
He's already close to unplayable on Hawkins and Lery's, and the RPD is a mashup of everything that's bad about those maps but on 2 floors.
-
Well it's kinda simple: if the survivor's close to 2nd stage or death hook, the killer's probably gonna go back to punish survivors for not saving and just sitting on gens. Survivors now have to trade or let the person go to next stage.
