You didn’t get taken hostage. You more than likely ran into what is known as “comp corner” and the killer wasn’t having any of it.

That is an entirely different thing lol

I never understand the beef people have with STBFL. It's nice to have but it's not so good I need it on very many of my killers

It makes camping and tunneling much much easier, is directly better against solos, and it becomes very impractical to take hits as the obsession if the killer has an m2

I'm being completely serious, but you're complaining about a stealth killer doing what stealth killers do. You have a skill issue that you refuse to accept and address. You would rather see the killer limited to a style of play you're personally better equipped to handle instead of getting better at dealing with the situation. So what is it if not a skill issue

Stealth killer =/= committing to zero chases, you really have no idea what you're talking about. Also like I've already said, there just isn't anything you can do about in soloq besides playing obnoxiously safe. Not a skill issue just reality

  • It's a perk that just covers a very small niche in a big way, I think it's fine.

  • @Aurelle said:

STBFL is fine as it is.

Maybe stbfl itself is but in combination with camping and tunneling and lack of comms in solo it definitely is not

  • @Xernoton said:

It shouldn't deactivate. It's a saving grace to weaker killers, why would you nerf a perk that improves the chasing potential of already suffering killers while doing nothing to killers that are actually problematic?

Weaker killers balance should not rely on a perk, they should be buffed alongside stbfl being changed

  • How is dh gonna be meta and still be as overrated as it is lol

I do not agree with that notion of balance. survivors do have free escape perk in end game. the perk is called Adrenaline. Its just not as good as old decisive strike end game.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3420988#Comment_3420988

decisive strike in end game gave you slimmers of chance to escape against those killers in end game.

    Exactly lol

There's no double standard. Killers still aren't guarantee a kill at the end of the game. All that's changed is that killers have a better chance to secure kills because survivors don't have free escape perk. And that's how it should be in an asym 1v4.

With full stbfl stacks, bubba, billy, huntress, trickster, and some more you are very much able to guarantee a kill at the end of the game

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3420960#Comment_3420960

You are simply putting words into my mouth.

The game is designed around the killer being able to secure at least 1 kill. This does not mean that 0 kills never happen. Killers still have to put forth effort to secure that 1 kill. Survivors don't get perks that provide essentially a free escape in the end game as a result.

They don't have to put any effort into it lol, get one hook as bubba or hillbilly or myers and camp and its gg. Also "the game is designed around the killer being able to secure a kill" .. and? Like do you mean the game is balanced in a way that the killer has to be able to secure a kill? Because that's just wrong

  • @Green_Sliche said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3420962#Comment_3420962

Why should I care about their games? Or do you mean their average game represents the average the average game of most people? Also again, numbers that likely were manipulated by survivors dying on hook, disconnecting intentionally or just refusing to play. Nothing new here.

Because it shows that the game isn't balancced around solos. Also I assure you the numbers in that video were not manipulated by survivors rage quitting bc it was literally some of the best survivors in a custom game lmfao

    Nerf to lightborn? Absolutely not.

Lithe buff doesn't even really make since as it is already a chase oriented perk that is good and ever Rushed Action becoming a fast vault doesn't make sense. How do you fast vault a rushing in and out of a locker?

Beast of Prey is something no one would complain about changing as no one uses it now though if you want to really be out of the box buff Territorial Imperative.

The nerf to adrenaline is a terrible idea I'm usually playing killer, but I don't quite need that much help.

Save the best for last is fine you could just give the buff and not the nerf ain't like it is strong.

Coup De Grace should be like this as it makes no since to need to be losing to get a single use lunge extension of all things

    Do not buff Smash Hit

if stbfl received that buff and no other changes i wouldnt hesitate to call it op, its already one of the best killer perks

It shouldn't. SWF also shouldn't exist. Plenty of things exist because majority of playerbase consists of survivors and game is catered for their enjoyment. They have higher priority and can manipulate statistics the way they like.

Accept that as the fact or continue acting like a clueless dummy. It's your choice.

Lmao you are one master baiter. BTW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJUTxy5hQa8

Not at all. The skiller securing a single kill at the end of the game is still a loss for them and with the mmr changes, the survivor who dies can still gain mmr for that game. Killers are being balanced around the fact that at least 1 kill should be happening every game.

Killers shouldn't be able to just secure one kill for free. Your logic is the same for ds/otr in endgame. If you're mad that the survivors got a free 4 out, but ds/otr being disabled would only reduce that to a 3 out, either way it's a loss so it shouldn't matter right? It's incredibily entitled to think killers should just be able to get a kill every game even if they get destroyed

  • @jamally093 said:

This is will sound stupid but the perk is called save the best for last aka saving your obsession for being the last alive but the killer for example Demo or Wesker can use their powers to injure the obsession and not lose stacks then kill them off easily and keep all their stacks.

What I'm getting at is this most obsession perks deactivate because the obsession is dead but STBFL doesn't.

Look Play with your food or Dying light they lose stacks when the obsession dies but why not STBFL also I don't know I'd Dying light full on deactivates since I rarely see it being used and most of the time I'm dead before the obsession.

Either that or should lose stacks on special attacks. Rn you can literally tunnel the obsession out and just have easy stbfl stacks the rest of the game, that is NOT ok

  • No way someone saying the activity hud shouldn't exist is calling my "bait" bad XD

  • @Green_Sliche said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3420908#Comment_3420908

SWF should not exist in the first place. Game was never balanced around them. The worst part is game is still being balanced around survivors all being SoloQ.

SFWs don't need hud because they have voice. They can just tell each other where they are and share other info. This kind of activity should not be possible neither for SoloQ nor for SWF ( there are survivor perks for such things ), but guess what - nobody will do a thing about it. Survivor fun is and will be the most important.

This is just a lie lol. Game is balanced around SWF. Top tier killer vs top tier swf both sweating their balls off is an even kill rate

  • Again! I'd be fine w this if solos could heal up! Then hnr would just slow the game down for survs instead of progressing the game for killers. But rn it's a lazy way to get free downs against the already weakest role. At least, if we're being honest, but ik we're not. Also lol, "hit and run isnn't easy." You realize legion, a hit and run killer, has one of the lowest skill ceilings in the game? Same with wraith, but I'm guessing y'all would actually say they have high skill ceilings somehow...

I haven't been guy in a while, but I am known to be funny.

Also you are objectively wrong because you're portraying your personal feelings as a rote statement of fact.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3420406#Comment_3420406

Literally any playstyle other than looping like a robot can be a pub stomp scenario for solo q. You're also making a value judgement about players who do hit and run which is weird. Hit and run isn't exactly an easy thing to do, a far sight harder to manage than just going for direct downs. If you're getting creased by it consistently then you would be the one with the skill issue not the killer.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3420402#Comment_3420402

Killers designed around certain playstyles is pretty much the most meaningful things as if they weren't designed around anything in particularly they wouldn't be any different than a survivor. With that being the case it is better to make those playstyles at least somewhat viable so you don't have killers who are basically dead.

Hit and run is absolutely an easy thing to do are u serious? You literally just sneak up, injure survivors, leave them, sneak up again, down them. It's effortless downs. But yeah it's a skill issue when I'm injured in a bad spot and there's nothing I can do if a stealth killer sneaks up on me bc I'm in solo. Be serious for once please

It is if it's a Hit and Run Killer. That's normal play style for them.....Hag, Wraith, Legion are just a few where their power is designed for Hit and Run and not chase.

when i say playing normally im referring to just chasing, those killers in that regard are not normal.

    @VikingDragonXii said:

    Ok let me see here.....

    Tunneling Strat......Hated (understandable)

    Camping Strat.......Hated (Annoying Yes)

    Gen Kick Strat........Hated

    Chase Strat aka Anti Loop.......Hated

    Now Hit and Run.......Hated

So is there any Strat that a Killer can use that won't be hated and "They should get rid of it". I know as a soloQ Survivor many Killer Strats are annoying but I see no issues with any Strat unless it's a full face camper Bubba....

anti loop isnt whats hated, anti choice is (artist, dredge, knight, etc) anti loop is enjoyed by most (huntress, billy, blight w/o op addons, etc)

  • this sure is every match and explains the nurse tunneling at 5 gens

U fr? They literally answered ur question before u asked it lmao

  • Ayo i don't 100% agree w all of these but still go off fr I'm happy to see this kinda stuff

  • Again I'd be fine w any of this if solos could actually heal up but as it is rn hit and run is, or at least can be a pub stomp strat for ppl who want downs but find chasing too hard. Lazy (ig that means that it's not the killers that are poorly designed but whatever I stick behind the specifics)

Also also saying I'm objectively wrong for saying that never committing to chases is boring and lazy even tho that's more like objectively right, u are one funny guy lmao

The logic of "there's killers designed to do this so it has to stay viable" is beyond meaningless. It's like it there was a killer that was designed to excel at tunneling. Would that mean tunneling should stay viable? No!!! The killer is just poorly designed lmao figure it out

All of the things you've listed are normal for this game. You just don't like those things and think they aren't normal.

Slugging is a normal and necessary part of the game in moderation.

Tunneling is a normal and necessary part of the game in moderation.

Infectious Fright has never been a super strong it just literally is another form of tracking which is highly normal in this game.

I'm not saying chases shouldn't be encouraged, but I am saying that hit and run also should continue to be a viable style of play considering we have killers WHO ARE DESIGNED PURPOSELY FOR THAT and there are PLAYERS OTHER THAN YOU WHO LIKE PLAYING THAT WAY.

It ain't all about you and whether you feel something is boring and lazy especially when you're objectively wrong.

What exactly do u think I mean by normal lol? Also just because there's killers designed for that purpose doesn't mean it's a good thing that that's the case lol. • I'ma try not saying the controversial ones lol

I'd like the undetectable part of iridescent feather to be replaced w a permanent aura read on swarmed survivors

It'd be sick as hell if the trail of blights last rush was pink when using iri blight tag

Dissolution shouldn't have a cooldown and tr condition should just be chase or range condition

Blindness should be like nightfall instead of blocking auras, particularly for survivors

Crowd control should eventually start permanently blocking windows to be a hex on par w devour

Self care should be 50% simply dude

Survivors should be able to see their teammates' builds and perk/addon notifications

    3 blink nurse shouldn't exist

Scourge hooks should be created when u first hook each survivor bc rng is dumb and spreading hooks encouragement is cute

    Fov slider pls:)

Pain res and dms changes in 6.1.2 were STOOPID!

and yeah idk I'll think of more and edit this maybe lol

The point has been made on these forums into everlasting oblivion that 'Dead Hard' can't be waited out at critical junctures. Please stop trying to assert that the killer can "just wait it out," they cannot.

That doesn't mean it's free. It's not always gonna be used at.. "critical junctures." There's very often something you can do about it whether it be waiting it out in the open or baiting it out at a loop. I would also like for ppl to stop calling dh a "free hit" when it objectively isn't but we can't all get what we want. Meanwhile sb and lithe have the prerequisite of simply running or fast vaulting and yet those aren't free, course 👍

  • @appleas said:

Most players will reveal their SB/Lithe/ BL early on rather than get injured first. DH on the other hand only gets revealed when the Surv is injured and within striking distance of a down. The Killer has a choice to decide to commit or not if the Surv reveals their exhaustion perk early on. With DH, the Killer has most likely already invested time into chasing the survivor, so extending or dropping chase after swinging into DH is a L for the Killer.

Unless the majority of Survivors start pulling off 99% SB mid chase or use their Lithe to escape an unsafe tile, pre nerf DH will still “feel” more oppressive to go up against.

Most of the exhaustion perks offer speed boost with different activation conditions, DH offered the potential for a speed boost and extra health state

The extra health state IS the potential for a speed boost, they aren't separate things. Also this is just my opinion (not fact!!!! ffs), but personally I find it much more annoying when it takes forever just to get a chase started. While dh on the other hand for me is kinda just whatever, depends on the kind of survivor ig, but it sucks every time when it's a power attack that gets dhd cuz that's just uncounterable (and still is, wooo great)

  • Also like I have no problem when hnr is used just to waste survivors' time but it's so stupid and lazy when used to just get effortless downs, that's why I'm kinda ok w it on legion and sadako but even then if they create deadzones like what are you meant to do. Maybe just be a bit greedy depending on the situation, idk, idk if that really works or not cuz it's hard to visualize but j saying killers who can sneak up injure sneak up down are just boring and that is literally just lazy

  • @ReikoMori said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3417838#Comment_3417838

It's extremely normal, so normal they've made perks and killers around the notion of doing it.

Also like lmao this doesn't mean it's normal at all seriously I don't know how u thought this was a point. They've also made knock out, does that mean slugging is normal? Or is that just an unintended side effect? Same with infectious. Same with old dying light and tunneling lol. Just because the devs proceed with making bad decisions doesn't make their decisions good, chases should be encouraged and dropping chase the moment u get an injure should not be bc it's lazy and boring 👍

  • @Zeon_99 said:

Nah Crutch Hard can stay dead. Those other exhaustion perks just help with distance at the start of a chase, Dead Hard just covered up mistakes. Ill take 4 Sprint Bursts over 4 Dead Hards any day of the week.

sb and lithe are infinitely more crutchy than dh was. they give you loads of free distance every time where dh could often be easily countered

  • That can work sometimes sure but its value is still undeniable imo. If you're in the middle of a chase you have a really good chance to finish that chase up before the gates even get a drop of progress. You have time to camp someone for a whole hook stage. if you have a good idea of where survivors are already then you can snowball really effectively. I hate anecdotal evidence as much as the next guy but I have to mention there was a game I had where NWO turned what would've been a 1k into a 4k. Felt good as hell

  • @Piruluk said:

I only care about Dead Hard, playing killer is such a joy now, compared to before, when Dead Hard was a 100% third health state all the time.

I dont care about any other exhaustion perk

holy skill issue... i have to wonder if youve ever tried waiting it out like actually wow

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

Man killer mains ######### up. Complaining so hard about DH. Now literally every surv is running lithe, SB or balanced landing and it is annoying af.

You know what I liked about DH? You could counter it, SO easily. You can't counter any of these other exhaustion perks and it is driving me up the wall.

Whereas with DH once I figured out who had it, it was the easiest perk in the world to counter. And now I've got uncounterable speed boosts in practically every chase. Love it.

Hard agree with this. I will admit its nice being able to lunge again but it absolutely does not make up for the absolute cringe that is sb and lithe. Ppl complained about dh being a "free" health state when sb and lithe are infinitely freeer than dh was, it's literally just free distance and I have to take ages to catch up. At least with dh it was because they timed it right but w sb and lithe its quite literally just because they have the perk, I simply can't agree with ppl thinking dh meta was worse to deal with

I mean I miss old pain res and but its just more engaging. It adds gameplay decisions that were only present when killing someone with old pain res, like do I use the hook now or save it for later. That decision relies on your gamesense and messing it up could cost a gen. Its less good but just feels more rewarding for good players, especially because it discourages tunneling.

yeah sometimes it feels bad when scourge hooks become useless for the rest of the game if its my only scourge but it also feels super nice knowing that i just killed a gens entire lineage, and that decision making stuff also makes it even nicer with agitation to get to whatever hook you please, which i love cuz agitation is dope

  • @MerleDixon said:

I started using this perk. Even in Solo the progression bonuses make a heck of a difference from my experience. Do you find the perk to be strong, or just downright inconsistent? I like it because it’s a perk you have to make a build around. I prefer such builds because I’m typically confident in running the killer long enough without perks that help with chases.

Toolboxes shouldn't give bonus skill check chance and stake out should probably be reworked. Perk on its own is honestly one of the best designed ones imo

  • In regards to gen regression and exhaustion, I think it'd just be better if the perks that took skill were better than those that didn't

Also buff the absolute frog out of solo

Also the last update wasn't a disaster wdym

Seems like a lot wants chase meta but here the thing from a killer pov. Why should I chase you if all you going to do is bring a Garden of Joy map offering and just lead me to the main building every single time where every chase ends up 30+ secs? If ppl really want a chase meta then try that bvhr to hire actual good map designers and make maps less safe and encourage scourage chasing. There a lot of maps in DBD that are horrible to chase survivors in bc alot of those chases end up being 30+ secs thanks to pallets linking together, strong building and windows.

Exactly, my votes for maps being made WAY less safe as opposed to hnr being viable

That doesn’t answer my question but sure. So what is a “real reason” that justifies dropping the chase?

If the survivor goes to goj main then yeah. But u can just get an injure and immediately leave without any consideration of what tile they're at, that's what's lazy

  • @Gamedozer7 said:

Bubba power isn't designed to facecamp but his power design allows him to. It's an unintended side effect while stealth killers like wraith and onryo are designed to use hit and run. Huntress, myres,Trickster are all good at face camping as well does that mean they are designed to do so?

my point is that the devs can be wrong in their intentions. legion and sadako I'm honestly ok with, despite them still being boring, since the tr/tp sound gives ample time to react and ensures the killer will actually have to chase them for a bit to get anything significant out of the ambush. but something like hit and run wraith is just really stupidly lazy, just slapping on sloppy nurses jolt or whatever and just dropping chases the moment u get an injure, then sneaking back w high likelihood you'll be able to immediately get a hit right after uncloaking
