Treating this as not bait: GF doesn't bother me a bit. Yeah some of them are bad, but I wouldn't generally consider him among the worst. He's one of the most utilized killers in high ranks, too, so it makes sense that the bad ones would stick out more.
Freddy, on the other hand... annoys the absolute f@$& out of me. Not because he's difficult to play against, but mostly because of his ugly pedophile face... and the fact that people who main him have a strange tendency to play like sweaty tryhard dbags. Like honestly, it's almost all of them. It's fun looping him around if you can, but if he gets you once he will tunnel you into the ground and let 4 gens pop to do it. Then he'll hit you repeatedly on hook to show you how cool and edgy he is. I swear I always imagine some 11-year-old punk kid on the other end when I play against a Freddy. Like the ones who used to tell me messed up stuff about my mom on CoD years ago. 😂

I personally am not particularly bothered by camping whether playing survivor or killer. I only usually stick around the hook when survivors are rescue happy. I also have not witnessed more campers as of late
Rescue happy? I mean *not* rescuing wrecks your benevolent emblem, almost guaranteeing losing a pip, and rescuing earns you BP so.... why wouldn't survivors be "rescue happy" exactly?

Idk I think losing emblem points for unsafe unhooks is incentive for some people. I always run BT though.

I think in addition to disconnecting being punished, survivors should also be punished for killing themselves on the hook. I think it's great that this system has been implemented since a lot of survivors ruin games by disconnecting immediately after going down or if they don't like the killer; however, I have seen a lot of survivors deliberately run into the killer early and then kill themselves on the hook to avoid punishment. I would imagine this system could be implemented by considering it killing themselves on the hook if they wasted about 80+% of the meter on the hook (through attempting to escape and subsequently letting go early in the struggle phase).
I'm not a rage quitter by any means, BUT if I'm getting trolled, tunneled, or camped (not proximity, I mean like dude set up a tent and is roasting marshmallows in my face)... then I'm probably going to kill myself on hook so I can get into a new game and potentially have actual fun. Blatant facecamping in particular—with or without the killer repeatedly hitting me on hook—makes me feel like I'm playing a game with a 10-year-old. If I wanted to watch a bratty child struggle with their ego I'd become a fifth grade teacher. I'm good.
Another instance where I might do this is extreme lag. If I'm rubber banding all over the place (sometimes this happens even if the ping in the lobby is fine) then I'm not going to DC, but I'm also not going to make an effort to continue the game when I do get downed. Why should I have to suffer through an all but unplayable game to avoid a penalty?

It's totally crazy, whoo, gens done in just 7:20 compared to how fast you can do 4K as Killer, like 5-6 minutes, when you play against casual players. I do not count tryhard Survivors.
5-6 minutes?? I've seen it done much faster than that. Tbf you have to play like a total doucherocket to do it... but it can be done in the first 2 minutes if you manage to slug everyone right away. I've been on the survivor end when that's happened. Red rank survivors vs a rank 6 Billy.
Can't imagine how that's fun though, except maybe for sweaty betties or tryhard trolls.

It sucks as solo survivor sometimes too. I spent this whole match thinking "######### is happening right now" then I get to the scoreboard and I'm like "oh... neat."

I love these ideas! Very creative, but still falling in line with traditional gameplay in all the right ways. You've clearly put a lot of thought into it and I, for one, am impressed. 💕

While I do agree with you
DS has a 60 second timer meaning it is possible to be doing well and get hit by DS because you over performed or are in a situation where you are forced to get them because they force a locker spam for the entirety of DS.
Sometimes a killer didnt deserve the DS strike, but as I say to a killer whenever I'm downed and grabbed with DS active "say no to tunneling" even if they honestly were not.
I agree not every killer deserves it and sometimes it sucks, I'm just saying it's not the god perk people act like it is.

So your telling me when the killer is after you, and your on the maps with infinite loops, you don't use them? Cause I'll call bs right now on that. Every player uses them. Is it right and fair? Helllll no. But will you still use it to gain an advantage and get the upper hand? You bet your ass, because you don't get in trouble or penalised for using it, even though it's CLEARY an exploit. The basement glitch won't happen to you again now, but I bet you will be tbagged on infinity loops everytime you get those maps still. Survs play toxic as hell most the time(ps4) and it's suppose to be ok, but when a killer does it though... OFF WITH THERE HEAD AND BURN THEM TO ASH!!! BAN THEM FOR LIFE!!!! 😆
First of all, they're not "infinite" because in order to be "infinite" there would have to be zero difference in speed between the chaser and the chased, and we all know there isn't. If a survivor is really good and/or a killer is really bad then yes it can prolong a chase quite a bit... but most good killers know it's not smart to chase one person for that long anyway.
Looping isn't toxic. T-bagging at pallets is imo, but that doesn't go hand-in-hand with looping.

here is a scenario that happened recently, I was hooked when it was 1 gen left struggle phase against a T3 myers, last gen was at about 90% in killer shack with 3 of us on it, this is right after I got unhooked we went right for the gen, he grabs me, I DS him, finish the gen and Adrenaline procs on everyone. NON SWF BTW. his T3 ends soon after and its a EZ escape after that
the plays that you can do with DS is numerous. basically you are untouchable for 60 seconds
Although I have seen it come in super clutch at the exit gate during endgame. But that's pretty situational and not going to happen all the time.

Again, I didn't say it was NEVER a game changer... it just isn't always. You're not untouchable, either. You know how many times I see someone hit a killer with DS just to get downed again within 10 seconds? More often than not tbh. Unless the killer sucks or the survivor is just insanely good at winning chases—in the case of the latter I wouldn't think DS would be a meta perk for that person.

DS is used for more than just "not tunneling" I have used it to unhook people than escape, 60 seconds is a bit long, unless they made it to where it IMMEDIATLY de-activates when someone else gets hooked and you are unhooked than it will be used MORE than a anti tunneling perk
I still just don't think 40-60 seconds is a super long time. As a survivor, I can easily run a killer at least that long anyway before being hit—as long as I wasn't unhooked literally right in their face without borrowed. The best use of DS is during endgame, but it's really situational and absolutely can be countered. I say that as someone who actively and successfully counters it when I play killer. Very rarely is it a game changer, but of course it can be when it's played correctly under the right circumstances—which is how perks should be. It doesn't make a survivor a god though, and I feel like some people act like it does.

True, but not likely. The time it takes to down, pick up, and hook another survivor—and then down the one you hooked before a second time—easily covers 40-60 seconds.

well, since apparently not only i but also others have completely misunderstood your post, you should probaply rething your wording here.
because what i "quoted" was what i felt like this post was trying to address - the killer community abusing this bug to win easily ingame.
if you are only talking about a small percentage of killers, please say so. otherwise it will, like it did in this case, lead to confusion.
btw, now that i know what exactly you are talking about i couldnt agree more.
bug abusing is always a douchebag move to do, no matter who you play.
i only tried to defend those killers who were not abusing the bug / unknowingly "using" the bug with my post, since i thought you'd have attacked the killer community as a whole.
sorry for the misunderstanding.
I re-read my post and I just honestly don't know how to make it more clear. I even quoted the specific comments I read that I am speaking about. I'm not being an #########, either, I really don't understand how there is so much confusion. I didn't say I was upset about the bug, I said it's sh*tty to have this mindset that it's okay to play scummy just because other people do it. It's not the bug or that I think every killer abused it... it's the justification I saw in threads on here.

Yeah, get mad about a bug that most killers didn't even know about and weren't intentionally doing, and now has been patched. But running the infinite loops and t-bagging while doing it is still fine and a thing though. Where's that patch?
Man some of you struggle with reading comprehension. It wasn't the bug itself (didn't say it was either), it was the sweaty betties gloating about deliberately abusing it every game they can to troll survivors because a Dwight hit them with DS one time and it hurt their feelings. ######### survivors exist, and I strongly dislike them whether I'm playing killer or they're on my team... but why use that as excuse to be an ######### killer? Like I said, I play both, and honestly I go out of my way to not t-bag at pallets or gates, not camp, not tunnel, and just generally not play like an ######### no matter what role I'm playing... and I guess I wish more people were that way, instead of being the bitter & spiteful players they are. Weird concept for some people I guess? I have the most fun when I run into people who don't take themselves too seriously and just play to have fun. It was disheartening to read comments from people saying ######### like "Hell yeah I'm abusing it, f*** those survivors!" like dude... who hurt you? Why act like that? "Because I've seen survivors do it!" ...okay, so we're twelve-year-olds now? You hate toxic survivors so you strive to act just like them? I guess that's more where I was coming from. I don't get that attitude at all.

Glitching sucks, yea.
As for the ds thing, it has no counter. You either eat it or waste a ton of time and lose gens by slugging.
Or... go after someone else. You literally have up to 3 other people to choose from. And if they're the last one alive, just slug them and close hatch to trigger endgame and let the entity take care of it. Not hard. There are very few circumstances where DS actually changes the entire outcome of a game. That's why I don't run it as survivor and it doesn't bother me that much as killer. Even if someone does manage to get me with it (doesn't happen often because I go out of my way to hook the rescuer after an unhook and not the rescued), it's usually not that hard to catch up to them and knock them right back down again—plus it's super satisfying. They can't do it twice. 🤷🏽♀️

5000RPM machinegun Killer (stacking perks), 4 Sprint Bursts - stacking perks at all, Killer with Bond/Empathy, Decisive Strike useless when you play as Hag (like 1 or 2 weeks after release, theres no stun), Wakeup, infinite Mend, Ruin exploit, 2 or more Killers in one game, DS dribbling, holding Killer on combain (map Fields), Tinkerer Tier 2, moonwalking Survivors after tapping gen with battery and many many many more.
Back to the topic, imo you can't blame Killers for hooking you in basement, because there is challenges in Archives just pushing you to do this, it's not like after this exploit is revealed the basement hooking raise by 80% like someone said on this forum.
If they knew about the bug and couldn't wait two days to finish those two challenges, then sorry I just don't see that as an excuse. If it were like the final few days before the rift closed, fine... but it wasn't.

"Not tunneling" *gives the survivor an entire minute of near immunity with the only punishment is getting downed and left there because if he waits for it to end a gen can easily be done in that time.* I've been screwed over by this perk countless times specifically after I already downed and hooked someone else then found the guy playing like an idiot only to get dstrike'd. The perk needs tweaks don't act like it's fine as is, it needs to go away when you down and hook someone else
I actually don't disagree with it being nerfed, I'm just saying I've just never really had it ruin a game for me as killer and I don't think it's a valid excuse to exploit a game-breaking bug to punish survivors who might not even use it. If someone who happens to be your obsession is playing like a potato right after being unhooked... you can pretty much guess they're running it and it isn't hard to either mindgame them out of their minute of "immunity" or simply go after someone else while you wait for the timer to run down. Because gens could also be getting popped by the other 3 while you're steady tunneling one... so it's not like it makes or breaks a game. Personally though like I said before, I never run DS as survivor. It's just not a must have for me.

not everything is a "toxic tryhard killer abusing a bug for an easy 4k". the basement in general is a great place to hook someone plus there were tome challenges that literally required you to hook someone down there.
Okay number one, you just quoted something I never said or even implied—making it clear that you not only completely missed the point, but didn't bother to notice that you're the 4th or 5th person to miss the point. I never even used the word toxic. I literally said it's JUST AS BAD when players in either role do it, and one doesn't excuse the other. I was speaking specifically about comments I read here from people gloating about exploiting this bug as they felt it was "payback" for survivors exploiting bugs in the past... even though the odds that they were "paying back" the same survivors who abused said bugs, particularly against them, are slim to none. My point was that it's stupid and childish to deliberately play like an ######### just because someone else played like an ######### against you one time. This is not a tough concept. But sure, continue arguing against points I never made if it makes sense to you.

Sorry but there's not a larger distance between basement hooks and other hooks. Unless you're literally already in the basement, or inside a relatively closed off building where the basement is... going to another hook isn't a risk. In fact, killers more often than not will go out of their way to hook in basement even if they could easily hook elsewhere.

That's my point. I play both and wouldn't do it on either end. So why is it fair for a killer to grief me with an exploit just because other survivors (who were not me) abused an exploit in the past? That doesn't even make sense. It's not just two sides—everyone is an individual player. So really it's more like if one of your neighbors stepped on your flowers, so you turned around and went to your OTHER neighbor's house and stepped on THEIR flowers... using the logic that they deserved it because they're also your neighbor, even though they're not the specific neighbor who wronged you. Make sense?

A) survivor wiggles

B) survivor doesn't wiggle

I've encountered zero killers that won't hook in basement if they're close to it and the survivor doesn't wiggle. You act like it's a last resort for most killers and it's absolutely not. It's opportunistic.

Uh, usually you wiggle so the killer can't hook you wherever they please. Namely, the basement. So that doesn't really make a lot of sense, sorry. If you start carrying me towards the basement I'm going to try to prevent it. That's bug or no bug.

I'm glad it got patched and disappointed that some people knowingly exploited / went out of their way for basement hooks just for the sake of causing the bug.
I dont, however, fault the people that were legitimately ignorant or had challenges to do.
I myself only used it on survivors that seemed to think running to the basement was a sort of "safe zone" for them. Case-in-point: Gas Heaven. Downed an Adam inside the shop in the corner with the pallet. I HAD to take him to basement because the hook outside was sabo'd and he ran there twice. I slugged the first time but the second time, yep, basement. He got affected by the bug and still ended up mad in the chat. And he knew basement was there.
I keep saying over and over that I never said I thought everyone knew and that I was talking about comments I'd seen from people who admitted to exploiting it and used the reasoning I mentioned.
That said, survivors who abused a killer's presumed knowledge of the bug and tried to use the basement as a safe haven deserved whatever they got when the killer was fed up.
As for the challenges... do a different challenge until the bug is fixed. It was two days, not the end of the world.

There are I think 3 rift challenges requiring using the basement.
Not everyone knew about the basement bug.
If a survivor is wiggling and the basement hook is the only hook available why would they give a free escape.
Yes I'm sure there were people exploiting it before it got patched but not everyone was, and I'd wager most didn't know. If you only play killer and don't use the forums there was no indication of a bug.
Once again, I was specifically referring to the attitudes expressed by those who admitted to exploiting it. I am in no way insinuating that every single person knew about the bug, and looking back at my original post I can't really see how there could be confusion about that.

My point is that I doubt most killers knew about the basement bug, also why'd you think a bug exploit thread would be the perfect place for a little DS rant?
If you had some bad luck playing against some cheesy killers that sucks, but most people here don't do that
I'm literally talking about comments people have made here admitting that they deliberately took advantage of the bug (though I have experienced it in a handful of games where it was obvious it was done intentionally). One person used DS as their excuse for abusing it, which is why I brought it up (personally, I never run DS).

If your experience is like mine, those filthy cheaters are getting as many exploits in as they can before the bug gets fixed. I faced about 50 games yesterday and somewhere around 45 of them had basement hookings. In my opinion Behaviour should not have said they were not going to work on banning people for this bug, because that was like saying it is okay to cheat using this bug.
Anyway, if you have been the victim of cheating killers, there is a small chance you can find some relief, though it is not likely. My son and I play together, so we figured out that if one of us is dead we can view the other player and almost have normal movement, though you can't interact with anything. If you are playing with someone else you are with they could also come down to the basement and guide you out, to the top of the steps. You could also have a person on voice chat guide you though I expect this will be much more difficult.
ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS FALL! If you can get yourself to fall any distance, it fixes the bug. So that filthy killer that thinks he doesn't have to worry about getting you killed anymore can get the shock of his life when you get out and finish those gens.
Good luck!
Wait, so even if a killer openly admits to exploiting this bug to gain an advantage it isn't bannable? Nice. 🙄 I get that it's hard to prove intent but come on...

My tip for that one: Equip the 180 charges toolbox and use repair speed & efficiency add-ons. Maybe add "Streetwise" perk too.
Use the "Vigo's shroud" offering to start the trial far away from the killer. Tho the other 2 secret survivor offerings might work well for the challenge too
Thankfully I got it literally right after I posted this complaint. 😂😂 Ran into a trapper who spent way too much time setting traps and teammates who weren't interested in gens so I basically did all of them alone. Man that was annoying though.

The "Dark Senses" one is currently on my last nerve. I realize I don't have to repair three full generators by myself, but I still have to be ON 3 separate generators the moment they pop, and I've had the worst luck. I either find myself looping the killer thirty seconds in and suddenly BOOM my teammates pop 3 gens before he finally ######### off (meaning I already failed the challenge), or I become so determined to stay on a gen until it's done that I end up getting myself killed. I could literally 99% all five gens in a single match, but if I'm not *on* them when they're actually completed, then I fail the stupid challenge. Do you know how infuriating that is? If it didn't have to be a single trial it wouldn't be so bad, but it's *so* situational and dependent on so many factors beyond the player's control that it's not really a matter of skill at all—which I think is what bothers me about it and what makes it more aggravating than all the others I've done so far. The pallet stun one, for example, was cake—I mean yeah, if you end up in a match with nurse or huntress you may not complete that one until the next (not that they're impossible to get a stun on, just not always easy)... but ultimately it's probably not going to take 50 tries to get it done even if you have really ######### luck. This stupid dark sense 3 gen one, on the other hand... 🤬🤬🤬
