  • Yui's cosmetics are rewards in the Rift

  • Check if your GameUserSettings.ini is set to read only. %LOCALAPPDATA%\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\

  • I'm not really a flashlight user, but welcome the change; being clicked at by my own teammates is annoying as hell, so can only imagine what it's like for killer mains. I read somewhere battery drains faster or seems to with the new changes? is that true or just peoples perception?

  • It sucks, but if it's happening a lot think about running Built to Last in your build if you have it available, least you can recharge your items.

  • Why can't BHVR just highlight in lobby if it consists of swf, if you see it's 4 of them, a killer could use a build to make sure the game isn't going to be gen-rushed, prepare for a potentially sweaty game, or even dodge.

People just switching to this i'm going to play sweaty and camp/tunnel everyone mentality is exactly why solo-q is genuinely miserable at times.

Just ran into my 4th obvious cheater tonight. I get that cheating will never be solved in any game. But it's amazing just how extreme the cheats are in this game, loading in with 2 killers, people teleporting, survivors bringing in killer offerings, killers with every perk in the game.

I get that this game started peer-to-peer, but why isn't there a single server side check for these things? And don't get me started on how meaningless reporting is. According to Mandytalk themselves they will not act on any report without video proof. Guess that david with no toolbox flying around every map breaking every hook was my imagination when I sent that report in.

Wait the cheaters can bring killer offerings lol? why though, so you can mori them or grant you BP bonus ๐Ÿคฃ

    Hi,

I don't usually like to complain because I understand that being a developer for a game is a lot of work and effort to cater to everybody and everything that people want. However, being (most of the time) a soloq/2man survivor player, I can't play this game anymore. I have 2k hours, own a tiktok with over 15k likes and a Twitch channel just because of DBD, yet the game has grown to a state where it makes me feel 10x worse after playing than it did beforehand.

Killers are tunnelling all the time, I see the same few killers every single game and survivors just can't compete with all the stuff killers have these days. I don't necessarily blame killers for playing strong killers (because those like Pig, Ghostface etc are just boringly weak).

However I played 7 matches today with my friend, and we both have over 2k hours. ALL of those matches the killer got 4 kills and mostly ended by hitting on hook and nodding. I don't go around clicking my flashlight at them, I do gens and save when I need to, and I can loop the killer for a good few minutes, yet even then the match ends at 1/2 gens with all being dead.

I don't appreciate the excuse 'just get good' because I can loop and I can be useful during matches; with 2k hours of course I'm going to have some idea of how to do that. But nowadays, when a killer even just gets looped, they take it as a personal offence and tunnel you out and hit/nod at you. It's tiring and sad because I used to enjoy this game on both sides (I still agree that killers should have gotten the buff they did in the past), but now playing survivor against these killers just feels so punishing and leaves you feeling like there's no chance to win at all.

I'm going to stop playing because this game just feels like it's at a point where its stale and more toxic than ever. Thanks for reading and again, sorry that this post had to be so whiney and complainative, but I just had to say my opinion and viewpoint before I left. <33

Sorry to see another gamer leave, hope you find something else more fun. In the end, a game should leave you feeling entertained, far too many people carry on playing this one feeling frustrated and annoyed, and that's just not right.

What is there to discuss? Person goes on a rant flexing their 15k tiktok likes (๐Ÿ˜ฎ), states that killers bm and 4k when you have 2-3 useless teammates, and complains about tunneling. All things/topics that have been obvious gameplay issues for years and recited many times.

They may think leaving a post like this might help devs see a glaring issue with solo-q, if no one ever did people would just think the games fine as it is. BHVR should probably do more in game surveys to get real opinions and feedback though if they skip past all the posts here.

Oh ok. Then I guess I'll open a support ticket to get direct information on this.

Yeah definitely raise a ticket, i think they may auto complete if for you if it's been bugged for some time, they did on a health state challenge i was attempting some time ago in the early tomes.

  • Sounds about right haha. I had a Becca use it through a wall yesterday, then continue on her gen. Queen of efficiency.

  • I wouldn't say they're the same, even in the sense of frustration. Gameplay-wise, tunnelling/camping has the killers attention, leaving the other survivors to try and do an objective if the targeted survivor can keep them busy at least. A DC/AFK/suiciding player has screwed you, since the killers attention will likely be on one of the remaining 3 survivors.

  • I never really used it, but going by the name of it alone, it's current state seems fitting 'Dead Hard'. The complaints seem mainly due to the apparent rise of cheaters using it automatically, and not the players who can actually time it. I think the dash was one of the original issues with it, too easy to use it to make distance last second to reach that pallet/vault, or the combo of having endurance and a dash.

  • It's crazy annoying but does make gen simulator more interesting. You're not alone, i miss it every time and any survivor near me usually starts nodding ha. Thankfully, very rarely come up against it.

  • I don't mind playing against them usually, but loads of traps all around the hook is kind of annoying, my screen goes bonkers when i run through them all haha. Seems like a waste putting so many in one place though for those who do it.

  • Yeah not a fan of map offerings, especially when its one you don't like and you see it popup.. you think why god why, and just sigh to yourself.

Although, the bhvr random map selection is weird, there's sessions when i'll just have the same map so many times, tonight it was Midwich, which honestly I dislike.

  • Perk Mercy Kill (aka Bye B***h!) ๐Ÿคฃ

I think the last standing survivor deciding that would be hugely unfair, if anything, just give the slugged survivor the option to Resign/Suicide/Bleedout faster after a certain period of time.

  • I know it's boring to do, but report in a ticket just to confirm whether it is bugged? I did that for another tome challenge that involved multiple complete heals, just wouldn't complete no matter how much i tried and what i did, they told me it was actually bugged and auto completed it for me.

  • I think if they let you know who the Killer is (and only that information) then gives people a fair opportunity to just dodge the lobby and queue up for another. I know there's legitimate strategic reasons not to inform the survivors, but might stop all these Nurse DC's and suicides on hook etc.

  • Think they avoided voice altogether because it's meant to be solo, or it would invite too much trolling/misuse/abuse. Proximity comms would be cool, the amount of time i chase behind someone to try and offer a heal then give up thinking forget it they're doing their own thing or not looking behind ha.

  • I think this one used to be bugged, hope it's still not, I've not done it yet. Is it 2 secs now, thought it was longer?

Can you imagine being in a lobby when a legendary Blane skin loads in and he says, "This stuff will make you a God damn sexual tyrannosaurus, just like me!" Arnold's already there, flexing, maybe puffing on his cigar. Meg loads in and he says, "You're one ugly mother #########." Then right at the moment the countdown gets locked, he screams, "GET TO THE CHOPPA!"

  • That's a lot of drops to result in a 24 hour ban. Sucks in your situation. but like others said it's to punish those who are intentionally quitting games continually. Although, feel like it's much more of an issue if a survivor does it opposed to a killer. Remaining survivors have to struggle on after a DC (intentional or not), often 3v1 at 4/5 gens. Whereas if a killer drops, it ends the game entirely (for an obvious reason), and everyone just moves on. Not saying punishment should differ, but just odd everyone assuming you're playing survivor and your unstable internet is ruining games for your teammates.

However, people saying get better internet is ridiculous, it doesn't matter how good it is, no ISP can guarantee you a 100% service. It's likely an issue in your area, your line, or a component of your home networking. Do some simple troubleshooting to verify where the issue actually is, and see if it can be remedied. Good luck!

  • Take a medkit!

  • I think 30 mins as killer on Yamaoka pre 6.1.0, I was playing perkless Legion just to find my final purple glyth, i hate those challenges, took me 5mins running around looking at the floor, then realised not one gen had popped... 2 survivors hiding in basement switching between lockers, and two constantly stealthing around map, but not actually touching gens ha. I just wanted it to end, but couldn't DC because of my challenge, had to kill the two basement dwellers because they wouldn't leave, and trying to find the immersives.. well.. it took a while.

1 in 4 is enormous still. Most new killers drop to like 1 in 10 after a week.

It is a res evil chapter, can imagine a lot more popularity. I wasn't playing when the first dropped, was it similar?

  • First few days it was Wesker every game, but that's a given with new releases. I see him alot less now, maybe 1 in 4 games? if that.

  • Since you don't know what others are bringing and, with what feels like, most killers running slow down's on top of 90sec gens, Prove is almost a must in solo-q unfortunately. I'll swap it out with perks i require for tome challenges when needed in my build though. Problem is bhvr will just see numbers of use, and just call it meta and nerf them later in another shakeup. From a solo survivor perspective, it just goes back to not knowing what your teammates are running, unlike swf's.

  • Do you have to actually use self care to heal yourself, or can you just use a medkit while having the perk in your loadout?

  • i prefer to see where they are, don't know about others but after i recover, and if the killer isn't picking me up, i'll just make sure to crawl away from the lone survivors position. Better yet, I'll crawl to a random locker and wiggle so the killer checks it, rinse, repeat. Have to have some sort of fun in that boring scenario ha.

  • People always label.. survivors do this, killers do that, but really it's just down to 'people' and the way they play. Could be something happened in their last game and they just want to take it on someone, anyone, else. They may have tried to play a fair game and got bm'd for their trouble in the past, or simply.. some players just enjoy griefing others for no particular reason (fun for them?). It sucks, but it's present in any game unfortunately.

Only thing you can do is report it if it's legitimately griefing (with video), not sure if it'll do much, but i can only imagine if they get several reports on the same player they must have to do something. Other than that, just move onto the next game, or even take a short break, nothing worse than playing on when you're frustrated.

The worst thing i think anyone can do, especially as killer, is take out their frustration on another player.

  • I doubt any of the people who consistently suicide on hook likely read posts here ha. I feel your pain though, it sucks. Give massive respect to your teammates who keep trying until the bitter end.

  • It does suck, but don't see it going away. They're forcing you to prestige, and charging you for it ha. They should make it 20K BP (lowering it would be better, 10K?) or small amount of shards, for people who just want to get it out of the way without having to play 1 or 2 more matches.

In general, as others said, you've reached that Prestige far quicker than pre-patch, so count yourself lucky in that regard. Remember some dude prestiged 100 already legitimately before patch, can't imagine how much BP was wasted there :O

Oh i never realised, so MMI is disabled if you do not use crossplay?

  • It's weird and think it fluctuates. I went into a game saying it was 100% BP for Survivor, and when i came back out of the trial, i wasn't awarded the BP bonus and the MMI indicator wasn't there anymore. It returned a few games later and then worked. So does that mean if they switch the MMI while you're still in-game, it doesn't count even though you started the match with it with it?

  • I feel like i run around the whole map trying to get that trap off unsuccessfully, does it always take 3 or 4 attempts, or am i just unlucky? one match I felt like i couldn't get the damn thing off at all; in the end i ran in for a unhook as no one else seemed to be close, and i died literally as i was about to finish the unhook action. Pig arrived with perfect timing ๐Ÿ˜€

I've never heard anyone use it but I'm not sure anyone else is even using the perk because I never see the killers aura either. I wonder if it's bugged

Edit: I do see the killers aura when I use it, I just haven't seen it from other survivors

i saw it used yesterday, but not when it was activated though.. just noticed the highlighted gen and killers aura when near it.

  • Think for solo-q it's not worth it, but swf's will be able to make use of it, if one person or 2 bring it i guess?

  • Just wow.. i didn't use it often, likely never at all now. Way to shake up the non-meta ha

  • Like some have said, i think on it's own PS is harder to trigger when needed, works well with UB or FlipFlop.

    @Akumakaji said:

I am hijacking this thread, in order to talk about some other perk of this category.

While doing one of the more grindy tome challenges, I played around with different off-meta builds and stumbled over Steves old perk Second Wind/Renewal, that I had never used before. I played around 10 matches with it and got it to proc 2 or 3 times.

Its not even OP or anything, its just an auto heal 20s after you are unhooked, but in order to activate it and get that auto-heal you have to heal another survivor for one health state. This perk really baffels me; why is it so limited? Why does it have such a long-winded and complicated activation requirement? It could just activate after you unhooked someone and would still be questionable choice in your loadout, but as it stands you have to jump through to many hoops in order to heal back ONE health state. Inner Healing for example is a much more reliable method of healing: you most often stumble over totems just by chance, you can store them in advance and unless you are versing the Dredge, most lockers are pretty save spaces for 12s.

Feels like some perks really are remarkably useless, albeit some niche case uses.

Inner Healing is cool, but with so many people running CoH now, it's seems better not to waste the dull totems around the map.

  • I'm sure she felt bad bro..

    image.png
  • Not everyone buys dlc, although res evil will be popular just for the brand. The fact bhvr makes you pay to try and combat camping kinda sucks though, they won't even offer that perk later in shrine will they?

Although, is camping really that much of a thing, maybe just at higher mmr? in the last week, I can recall only coming across maybe 1 camper early on in a game, a couple others but could understand those, gens done and needed to secure a kill.

  • Windows and Bond (although it's bad for your mental health in solo-q, i still like to know where the other survivors are so i don't bring a chase to them).

  • Nurse topics seriously need a sub-forum ha

It sucks having someone dc literally when they hear the blink. I get it though.. there's some Nurses' that just want to stomp the survivors slugging-galore and it's really not fun at all, but not all games necessarily go like that. They should at least try and see if it's a nurse who's not playing that way.

  • I'm shocked more killers don't play "Bodies" by Drowning Pool, ha

  • he's got your back..

  • I'm a nice survivor, why do i never get matched up with killers like you :( need to make my sessions late night ha

  • Oh damn, i thought you meant for this community, i was going to say you're barking up the wrong tree for camaraderie ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Survivor - 4 maybe a 5 if you're generous

I'm usually that player you'll hear scream it the first minute or two of the game and be downed. You'll be coming to save my often, thank you in advance ๐Ÿ˜€.

    Killer - 2 maybe a 3

I don't really play it much outside of tome/daily challenges and some easier BP, because i don't really go for kills, just hooks and chases, while breaking everything in sight. If you see a perkless Legion in bunny outfit doing weird stuff (probably looking at the floor searching for purple glyph trails).. yeah that's me. Hello in advance.

  • Honestly, just stop reading post chat and move on. Especially if you did indeed leave the other survivor to die to get hatch, nothing wrong with it, but don't expect applause from them after the game ha. Obviously some players will feel abandoned, especially if they were trying to still progress the game even against the odds. Just move on.

  • You probably did the Feng a favour by leaving and starting EGC, must of sucked for them being held hostage all game. I guess they stuck it out so the rest of you could carry on with gens. Hope they managed to record some, or all, of it to report.

  • I've never had a problem with the hook animation. Think you'll get a lot of responses saying, just chase the survivors out if they're hanging around, otherwise just wait it out and don't go near gate if you're avoiding bm, just go break pallets/doors etc.
