The sound that Fast Track and Small Game make, and the visuals for Invocations and Potential Energy. Too bad almost all those things are useless. Doing glyphs is also really satisfying too. I wish they'd reincorporate them in new Quests or something.

I love the sound of World Breaker activating too, but only if I'm the killer. Funny how a sound can be stressful on one side and satisfying on the other.

I agree with all of these. I’d also add Visceral Cankers to the list. I get so jealous when a teammate has one of them in my games and I can’t harvest it.

Rolling a 20 with Bardic inspiration, and getting a chance to get value out of it on a generator.

Ooh that’s a good one! I need to start using that perk more often. I had it in one of my Chaos Shuffle games earlier today and I was having fun with it. I also love how most survivors will stand and ‘dance’ as you’re using it! lol

Getting a mori on each survivor when you didn't even use the mori offering, like on Myers or Jason.

I think a lot of survivors forget that's even a thing. I had a Jake the other day who was on death hook, and after getting unhooked with Decisive Strike, instead of running away, he started deliberately taunting Jason, trying to bait him into downing and picking him up. Instead, Jason just impaled him on the wall and mori'd him. Karma at its finest! 😂

I haven't played it yet personally but that how I felt last time, trying different perks is the fun in it and I wanna try new perks cuz I need new fun builds but I can't think of any so getting a try of perks will help, I am just gonna forget about winning and try to get the perk value without tunneling and slugging.

It’s definitely a good mode for trying out new builds and I honestly thought it would be less stressful for killer players because if you’re having a bad game, at least you can chalk it up to the fact you’re not using your usual perks and add-ons. My mind-set wouldn’t be that I have to play sweatier to overcompensate, it would be that I can play more relaxed and see what fun plays I can do with the perks I’ve been given.

I just checked out of curiosity and I currently get more BP from playing in the standard queues. Somebody really doesn’t want me to go back into those Chaos Shuffle lobbies! 😂

  • @dangersmymidd1ename said:

I like Chaos Shuffle because it means the killer needs a bit more skill to work with perks that are not the strongest, and it's refreshing to get perks as survivor that I don't use much but are actually quite good. Yes, killers can camp and tunnel but that says more about their sportsmanship in a game mode that is clearly meant to be more for fun. No perks or skill needed to circumvent the intended mechanics - and it will stay this way until tunnelling is so punishing for killers that doing so will always lead to a loss.

I did enjoy getting to use perks I'd never tried before and actually getting some value out of them. I've only been playing for about a year, so there are still plenty of perks I've never touched. I just couldn't help noticing that I seemed to be having really bad luck with my matches. It felt like almost every game had someone being proxy camped and tunnelled out at five generators, or the killer refusing to hook and instead trying to four-man slug.

Maybe I was being naive, but since I'd never played this game mode before, I went into it expecting it to be fun, chaotic, and enjoyable for both sides. I thought it would be one of those modes where everyone was just there to have a good time. I definitely learned the hard way that wasn't always the case! 😂

Like I said in another post, I'm going to give it another shot today. I was feeling tired and groggy when I played yesterday and made my initial post, which probably made the bad matches feel even worse. Hopefully today ends up being a much more enjoyable experience.

  • @SpyUA said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/470476/chaos-shuffle-is-sort-of-a-miserable-experience-isn-t-it

Killers tunnel and camp cuz chaos shuffle is miserable for them as well, having no slowdown and a chance of getting a meme add-on which nerfs the killer power is not very fun

Then I don't really see the point of queuing for that game mode if it's such a miserable experience for you. That's what I was getting at with my original post. If there aren't any real incentives to play, why not just stick to the regular queues instead?

There's no point camping and hard tunnelling at five generators just because you're unhappy with your perks and add-ons. If you're not enjoying the mode, you'd probably have a better experience in the standard queue.

I'm going to give Chaos Shuffle another chance today, but if it's as miserable as it was yesterday, I won't be queuing for those lobbies either.

  • I wasn't expecting so many responses, but it's been interesting seeing everyone's different viewpoints. I'm going to give this mode another chance because I don't think I was fully invested yesterday. I was pretty tired, so maybe my mood made the constant streak of bad matches feel even worse.

For anyone wondering, I don't normally run anti-tunnelling or anti-slugging perks in my survivor builds because I prefer using other perks. I do, however, bring Babysitter and We'll Make It so I can at least try to stop my teammates from being tunnelled. The issue wasn't even that I was being targeted, it was my teammates. At times it just felt helpless because if everyone took hits to protect the person being tunnelled, then nobody was repairing generators. On the other hand, if nobody took protection hits, our teammate would be eliminated so quickly that it felt like the match was over before it had really begun.

I know tunnelling can happen in both game modes, but it definitely felt more common in my Chaos Shuffle matches. That makes sense, considering it's much less likely that survivors will have perks like Decisive Strike or Unbreakable. Tunnelling and slugging are incredibly strong in this mode, and I went into it expecting a much more relaxed experience. Unfortunately, that just wasn't the case.

I'll see if the matches feel any different today, and if not, I'll probably just stick to the regular queues.

  • @esarraf said:

It's an okay game mode. Is it good? No not even close. But it's something different and if you enjoy chaos then it is fun but you have to go in with the midset of making the best of what you got rather than screaming that you didin't get four meta perks.

I’m not bothered about having four meta perks, but I’ve noticed that tunnelling and proxy camping is even more prevalent in this game mode and with there being no incentives to play, it just seems like a huge waste of time.

I hope Lights Out is better as I haven’t gotten to play that before either.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/470476/chaos-shuffle-is-sort-of-a-miserable-experience-isn-t-it

Generally the BP modifiers are based off which role is short on players, so if your not seeing one... could just mean the queues are about even atm.

So is that why 2V8 normally has between 3-5x more bloodpoints for survivor players because more people are queuing up to play killer? I assumed it was just a general modifier bonus to make it more enticing to play.

Well that’s disappointing as there’s virtually zero reason to play in the Chaos Shuffle lobbies.

  • I’m not sure what everyone else’s experience with that perk is, but in my lobbies it feels almost cursed. The survivor who brings it usually ends up being the first one found and hooked.

I can see how it could be really strong in a SWF, but that’s true for a lot of perks, anything tends to become more powerful when used by coordinated players. That’s why it feels like a bit of an odd choice to nerf.

While it can definitely turn a game around, I’ve found Unbreakable to be a much bigger and more consistent game-changer in my matches, especially given how common slugging is.

  • @cogsturning said:

    Congrats! Fast work.

Thank you! I’m glad I decided to level them both up at the same time as it felt really satisfying watching them reach P100 together.

  • Maybe I’m crazy, but I’m almost certain the bots in custom lobbies are smarter than the bots you get in public matches when someone disconnects.

In custom lobbies, it’s almost impossible to mind-game a bot. They seem to have some kind of wallhacks, always knowing which direction you’re coming from, and they’re much better at dodging projectiles than most real players. By comparison, the bots that replace disconnected players in public matches don’t feel nearly as strong.

They still seem to have information that real players wouldn’t, like always being aware of the killer’s position or being able to find hex totems quickly, but they don’t loop with the same confidence or efficiency as the bots in custom games.

  • @Angy_Quentin said:

And here i am, having my P100 kate as first full prestige playing since 2016.

Congrats my guy, i never see ricky dicky in my matches.

I’m surprised you haven’t gotten Quentin to P100 yet given your name and profile photo, lol!

I see quite a lot of TWD characters in my lobbies but most of that is because people switch to match with me when I enter their lobby. However, I’ve yet to have a full lobby of TWD characters. The most I’ve had is three. Maybe when Glenn releases in August it’ll finally happen.

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

I guess that means they fixed your bloodweb, congrats!

They sure did! It was fixed the day after I made my post about it. It seemed to affect quite a lot of players, so I’m glad it was resolved quickly.

  • One thing I find strange is when perks essentially do the same thing, but one version is clearly superior. Felix's perk, Visionary, is basically Bond for generators, except it goes on cooldown whenever a generator is completed. Why would anyone choose it over Déjà Vu, which not only reveals the three generators closest together but also provides a repair speed bonus on those generators?

The same applies to Windows of Opportunity and Five Moves Ahead. Windows of Opportunity is already a strong perk, yet Five Moves Ahead offers much of the same utility while also giving you the added benefit of moving away from a dropped pallet more quickly.

Desperate Measures and Flow State are another example. While both increase healing and unhooking speeds, Flow State also speeds up blessing and cleansing totems. On top of that, its effects aren't dependent on other survivors being injured, making it a much more consistent perk overall.

Most of the time I play with a trio. I've taken to immediately placing our random player on a pedestal, rooting for them and going full altruism to save them. I've no idea why I have this habit, but I hope one day you match into one of our games.

I do think the woes of SoloQ get plenty of discussion though. I've taken part in it. I just find the frustrations with SoloQ are less anxiety inducing and more anger inducing, so at least when it comes to my input, it's not something I discuss alongside anxiety issues with the game.

I think, for me, the anxiety comes from feeling like I have to put extra pressure on myself to perform well. I don't think I'm a bad player at all, and considering I only have 462 hours in the game, I'd say I have pretty good game sense. But when I know I'm in a lobby with a party (especially if one or more of them is a TTV) I start overthinking everything. That usually makes me play worse because I'm worried about being seen as the "useless random." I just don't think this game is particularly welcoming or accommodating to newer or solo queue players.

From my own experience, survivors constantly talk about killer players, and killer players constantly talk about SWFs. I honestly can't remember ever hearing a killer say, "That was a strong team of solo queue players." If survivors play well, they're almost automatically assumed to be a SWF.

I've had matches where I knew everyone was solo queue because we were all on the same platform and nobody was grouped together. Afterwards, the killer messaged me saying they hated "bully squads." I explained that I was playing solo and had no control over how my teammates played, but they dismissed me outright and insisted I was lying. It's almost like solo queue players don't exist in some people's minds, you're either the killer or you're part of a SWF.

If I take a protection hit for someone on death hook or being tunnelled, I'm immediately assumed to be in a SWF. I'm not just a solo queue player trying to help my team; I'm labelled a "toxic SWF." Taking hits for teammates shouldn't be considered toxic, but unfortunately some people see it that way.

I can only speak from my own experience, but solo queue players often feel like the forgotten part of the DBD community. We exist, and there are probably far more of us than people realise, yet it feels like we're barely part of the conversation. I know I "only" have around 500 hours, and I've seen people dismiss opinions unless you have thousands, but I've played with and against Fog Whisperers and partnered streamers (including some featured during the anniversary broadcast) and I've held my own, had strong chases, and escaped plenty of those matches. So I must be doing something right.

Even then, people still assume I'm in a SWF. If you're an efficient survivor, you're rarely seen as solo queue. Four solo players who understand how to split generators, take protection hits, and rotate chases will almost always be labelled a SWF. I've been in those lobbies, and if the killer happens to be streaming, they'll often default to calling us a SWF. Sometimes it feels like an easy excuse for losing rather than accepting they were simply outplayed. There's no shame in losing, but efficient survivors are so often labelled a SWF that solo queue players effectively disappear.

A lot of each match also feels outside our control. If I load into a lobby with a duo or trio running sabotage builds and intentionally making the killer's game miserable, there's a good chance that frustration gets taken out on the entire team. I'm guilty by association, despite having no idea what kind of match I was loading into and taking no part in it.

I genuinely think solo survivor can be just as stressful, sometimes even more stressful than playing killer, because you're not only playing against the killer but sometimes against your own teammates. A killer loads in knowing they'll be facing four survivors. As a solo queue player, you never know what you're going to get. That unpredictability, combined with the constant pressure of not wanting to be seen as the weak link, is where a lot of the anxiety comes from.

  • Discussions like this always make me wish more people talked about solo queue. It feels like a lot of killer players assume everyone in their lobby is a SWF, when that just isn't true. I only started playing when The Walking Dead chapter was announced, and I've played almost exclusively as a solo survivor ever since.

I've had countless matches where it's obvious I'm paired with a group, whether it's matching usernames or PlayStation players whose profiles show they're together. Despite that, I've been left to die on first hook at the end of matches while running Kindred, even though the killer had already left and my teammates could clearly see it. Other times they'll leave me to hit struggle despite the fact I've spent the match unhooking them, giving them Babysitter, and healing them with We'll Make It. It often feels like you're disposable because you're just "the random."

I've also run into plenty of TTV players who immediately dismiss me with comments like, "Oh God, it's a random Rick," or make fun of my username, "ThatTWDFan," as if that's somehow a red flag. Even when I play well, I'm still the first person blamed for anything that goes wrong. I can finish with the most bloodpoints by a huge margin and still somehow be "the problem" simply because I'm the solo player. At times it makes me want to dodge lobbies with TTVs altogether because I don't enjoy feeling like I have to impress someone just to avoid being criticised on stream.

On the other side, I've had killers assume I'm part of a four-man SWF simply because four solo survivors happened to work well together. I was even banned from a TTV's chat once for saying "GG, gl next" because they assumed I was grouped with survivors who had been teabagging them. I never BM'd, barely interacted with those players during the match, but I was guilty by association.

That's what makes solo queue so frustrating. You're often treated like the scapegoat by teammates who are actually playing together, or the killer assumes you're part of a coordinated SWF because you managed to run them for more than a minute. Last night I got fully bled out by a Ghoul after having a strong first chase. They threw the rest of the match with three generators still left just so they could repeatedly hump my body. Meanwhile, my teammates kept trying to pick me up instead of finishing the generators, and somehow we all ended up slugged. Peak solo queue.

I don't mean any of this to sound bitter because I genuinely enjoy the game. Getting to play as my favourite characters from my favourite show is the reason I started, and I'm finally close to reaching P100 on both Rick and Michonne. I just think solo queue players are too often left out of the conversation. Depending on your teammates or the killer, it can be an incredibly miserable experience, and it often feels like you're being punished for things completely outside your control.

If you're matched with a duo or trio, you're the "useless random." If you happen to play well, the killer assumes you're part of a sweaty four-man SWF and treats you accordingly. Either way, you're judged based on assumptions rather than what actually happened in the match. For those of us who genuinely prefer playing alone, that's just the reality of solo queue, and I wish it got talked about a lot more.

Have you tried Un-installing and re-installing.

Im not sure if that would fix it but if you haven't tried it. It wouldn't hurt to at least try it.

When I had loading issues for DBD thats all I did to fix it.

Mandy has just confirmed in another thread that a fix for the bloodweb glitch should be coming out later today. I don’t think uninstalling and reinstalling would have helped as it’s affected quite a lot of players. I assume it’s something to do with the new patch as it only started happening yesterday when it went live. :)

I think they did a good job too. The main complaint however is about the contrast between the 2 voice actors on each person for most its very noticeable and bothers them. I still play them myself it takes a lot more than that to bother me from playing a character, for example i still occasionally play as Yui despite how i loathe her now because the cosplay for Shanoa is why i'll probly never see a Shanoa Legendary lol.

I think they sounded really bad at launch because they were bugged and so obnoxiously loud. Especially Michonne. I found it really hard to play as her because she was so loud. Especially when she was running. I think a lot of the negative reaction is down to how buggy the chapter release was. I think if the characters had been added in their current state, then the backlash wouldn’t have been so extreme. I know some people would have still been disappointed that Andrew and Norman weren’t doing the injured sounds, but I don’t think them being SO loud helped with people’s perception of them going forward - or maybe I’m too much of a TWD fan to care and allow my excitement to take over! lol

I feel for ya. It must suck wanting a character in the game, only for them to end up as cosplay for somebody else. I would hate if they brought Carol or Glenn to the game in that capacity.

Right?? This is how I feel about it too! Honestly Im so glad that Lauren Cohan did the screams, maybe she needed the cash or shes just super passionate about nobody else playing Maggie. Regarding Glenn, we actually know what hes gonna sound like! The same actor who voiced Glenn in TWD Destinies is voicing him in dbd. You can search up the "Twd Destinies Glenn Trailer" to see what he'll sound like

I don’t think it’s that she needed the cash because she’s currently starring in TWD: Dead City which is about to start airing its third season later this month. There’s obviously a reason and it could be as simple as Andrew and Norman not wanting to strain their voices. I’m just glad they at least provided the voice lines as they always make me smile when I hear them in the lobbies / in game.

I’m familiar with Matthew Yang King as I’ve played TWD: Destinies and I think he did a good job. He definitely had the essence of Glenn. I still can’t believe Glenn and Negan are coming to the game. I’m so excited. I just hope Carol also comes at some point.

Im currently leveling rick/michonne myself and have not run into this bug. I have however seen this bug a long while ago on Dracula where the 1 black node would not allow the bloodweb to complete, ever. But i think that was before the instant prestige mechanic was added. When i reported the bug it was fixed in a day ( as i lt was happening for all draculas)

What happens when you try to instant prestige button? (Not the red one in the middle)

And there are several reasons this event should be extended as switch players are still stuck on update 10.0, doctor players have less time to collect cakes now that he has returned from killswitch. And the cake war was a long and hard fought battle to finally be able to earn a decent amount of cakes, where many players wasted millions of points on levels that had allot less cakes than they could be getting now.

If you mean what happens when I try to bulk spend BP, it causes the entire game to freeze and you have to crash the app. I’ve had a look on Reddit and BetaHub and it seems like more and more people are experiencing it, so hopefully it’s fixed soon.

    IMG_1600.jpeg

It let me level up Michonne / Maggie without glitching so I’m not sure what causes the glitch to occur, you just can’t do anything about it. The bloodweb stays broken.

I completely forgot about Doctor being killswitched as I don’t play as him, but I agree with that being another reason why people should be given longer to hoard event offerings / items.

You can see the recent reports here:

    https://app.betahub.io/projects/pr-5642738318/issues?release_id=4458&status=open

At least we know the issue isn’t solely related to Rick. I assume it’ll begin to affect everybody at some point, unless there’s some really specific unknown way to trigger it.

  • @mrpieseller said:

I mean i guess its different for everyone? My brother is the most die hard twd fan. He was a little weirded out by their screams initially, but quickly got used to it and now has Rick at p100. Once you play Rick and Daryl enough you get used to their screams pretty quickly

Another die hard TWD fan here. 👋🏻

I also don’t mind their grunts of pain / hook screams and actually think the V/A did a good job at emulating Andrew and Norman. I religiously use Iron Will though, so I rarely have to hear my survivors when they’re injured anyway… lol

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4097223#Comment_4097223

I've seen some of the rare people push through and main them either way (haven't seen a michonne main though) But i've seen allot more say they were pushed away from playing them because of how they feel like the quality of the characters is much lower due to the sounds.

I don't doubt even the diehard fans would love to have the screams sounding closer to the actors if it was possible.

I only started playing DBD because they added TWD and I’m currently on a journey to get Rick / Michonne to P100. I guess I’m technically a Michonne main, as I alternate between Rick, Daryl, Maggie and Michonne. Soon I’ll be adding Glenn to that mix.

Although I wish Andrew and Norman had also provided the grunts of pain / hook screams like Lauren did, I don’t think they’re as bad as people make out and I do think they sound quite similar to the actual actors, especially Daryl. At times it sounds like Norman to me.

It’s definitely not a deal breaker as I’m just happy I get to play as my favourite characters from my favourite show. I also love the in-game voice lines and how the TWD characters interact with each other in the trials.

    IMG_1596.jpeg

I actually get quite a lot of survivors switching to TWD survivors when I enter the lobby, so there’s definitely still a strong fandom for them within the DBD community.

Can you fully reboot the game please, and then see if the bloodweb loads?

(I know you said you did this previously, but i'm working on a timeframe of things in the backend, that's why I ask)

Hi there. I have just closed my game and re-opened and it’s still frozen. I can go into matches as Rick / Daryl, I just can’t progress their bloodweb anymore. It isn’t frozen on any other survivors and I’m not sure what caused it to glitch in the first place as I was just spending BP whilst I waited for my match to load. I’m on PS5 if that’s relevant.
