i got nothing XD would of said freddy rework but that was last year. Just got back into it and while it’s cool we are getting some improvements and even a killer rework...I am a little confused about why freddy is getting nerfs...I’m not mad, just a little confused.
I would like for next year is just,
-Updating the soundtrack release so we got all the music that’s been produced over the years.
-Reworking some killer perks like most of deathslinger’s perks to be less bad. I know not every perk has to be gold, but it be nice to just have a more diverse perk meta. Plus Freddy’s perk blood warden seriously needs a rework as the meta changed like crazy with the end game collapse and it’s pretty much a garbage perk at this point. Remember me also as it...didn’t fix the issues remember me has, it just nerfed the debuff and lessened the stacks you get. That doesn’t make me wanna tunnel my obsession less.

Okay, so what happend is that this guy was hooked twice and the others a few times. So once all the gens were done after my 3 gen, this guy gets downed and mori'd from Rancor because I've never used Deathslingers mori. After the game he was telling me I may as well have brought a mori and complained about getting one shot by rancor, saying that at least a mori doesn't one shot him. Then he went on to calling me a baby killer and well, you can see the rest :^)
Player entitlement. It’s part of the reason I left DBD for a while...that and I felt the game didn’t offer much more. I only came back cause of the Deathslinger and breakable walls. But I feel the other issue is there isn’t much to survivors. You have perks that only change certain things with maybe one or two drastic game changers, but gens are boring as hell with the only thing with some depth to it being looping and even that has serious limits. Why I hate playing survivor is it feels like there is only so much you can do before you die. You don’t really have control over whether or not you can survive fully, you gotta rely on team mates or randoms knowing what they’re doing. If they don’t, you’re punished for it, which I think isn’t really fair for people who don’t wanna do swf. It really feels like solo survivors are punished on the flip of a coin. It’s why I prefer playing killer cause it feels like you’re in control...at least for the most part.

I disagree. Pig moves slightly slower but can dash attack or just get up from crouch and get easy hits/grabs. Wraith can move faster in stealth. With this change, they absolute should increase Michael's tier 1 speed/lunge or better yet, leave him immune to premonition/spine chill. He was in a fine place as he was.
I mean this as much as a survivor as I do a killer. Jump scares are great. Nice little adrenaline rush when a Michael spooks me.
That’s my thoughts exactly :D
-
I do like these ideas, although if I may add something. This is just an issue I have with Ghostface’s cosmetics.
-Have the option to remove the streamers from GhostFace cosmetics.
I just don’t think they fit a stealth killer. They make it much easier to notice him out of the corner of my eye, and I know because I have had so many moments where I saw those out of the corner of my eye. I wanna be spooked damn it! XD
-
In my opinion, I feel like the battle pass is a bit of a slap in the face. I never felt like DBD’s monetizations are reasonable. The cosmetics being $10 each is money grubby cause you’re paying for a outfit that’s barely worth $5. Yes it looks great, but it seems unreasonable to keep the prices so marked up then have a battle pass....there’s a limit here.
My worries are more on if Behavior thinks later down the line they can get away with even more. That’s actually what I’m worried about. I feel there are other ways to monetize DBD here as well they haven’t explored. An example being another volume of the dbd soundtrack.
Let’s face it, since release, there’s been way more music produced for this game that could make a second volume. I have no idea why they haven’t tried that. If there isn’t a legal way, the pirating method is always the best way. I hate that cause I actually have some huge favorites from DBD’s music catalog that aren’t commercially available. Plus, I actually think the base soundtrack sucks with the main theme being an exception. It all blurs together. I’d rather have all the chapter and event themes instead.

Also side bote this might help you in life when you're trying to convince somebody to listen to you or at least get your point across insulting said person or group of people is the last thing you want to do. Typically it's the fastest way to get whatever you're saying ignored why mainly due to the fact most people don't like being insulted and don't want to listen to a person who's insulting them
Yeah. I am a killer main trying to get back into dbd after a long way from home. Still pretty rusty even after some good matches, but I would like to say my two cents.
I find behavior’s perk design...really frustrating. They always have these cool ideas on paper but the perks, (usually on killers.) are really weak or badly designed. Examples being Ghostface’s Furtive Chases.....how hard was it to have it also affect your terror radius outside of chases along with not losing all your tokens? Seriously, it’s insulting dumb. Another example is honestly every one of the demogorgan’s perks. Surge doesn’t really synergize well with him at all since you can only activate it with a base attack. I just find that kinda dumb since it’s already limited by the range. I’m not saying they don’t ever make good perks for killer...but there’s a reason why killer meta kinda sucks.

Yeah, it really needs a QoL change, but instead of bumping the value isn't necessary. All it needs is to be usable while injured AND being able to see everyone's scratches and not just your own. Teammates can screw you over even if you're trying to not get caught so it'd be really nice to be able to see where you need to play around to not accidentally get ######### over.
See you get it bro. I actually have been getting a lot of use out of fixated. Hell sometimes I have been able to confuse a killer cause I could fast walk up haddonfield steps and slow vault out a window. Downside? The survivor on the gen upstairs got chased...then i did their gen out of guilt.
-
Oooph, good question, I’d say it’s legion. Cause in all honesty the killer was so horribly designed, and still is cause the rework didn’t make him any better. Plus, the fact they sanctioned off the last two members of legion as cosmetics when they could of made basic grey hoody versions of them with the default mask for dlc owners. I thought that was bullshit. Especially when they abandoned that look by making the last two parts visually distinctive from each other. The only good thing about legion is the theme they made for his chapter...it’s ######### awesome!
Edit: also Jeff, he has a great design and in all honesty his perks are solid. Nothing crazy but stuff you can play around with and use if you want to be competitive.
-
What exactly is the advantage/buff of adding oblivious to sleeping survivors with the Nightmare? I actually am confused on how it makes him any stronger.
-
No joke, just a serious thank you. Your costly loadouts make this game so much more interesting and challenging.
This is...beautiful! T-T

I tried to keep Legion the way the Devs wanted but making them stronger because right now they only work on unexperienced survivors, I would suggest a buff to vault speeds while in FF, but people would overreact instead of seem how much they need it
Honestly, if I were the devs, I would do that and ignore the overreacters. The issue with the devs is they think killers should follow general rules with how they worked so they dont add anything to the base mechanics to make them more fleshed out or interesting to work with. So We end up getting half assed re-works like this and honestly it’s why I stop playing DBd.
survivors are boring they all play the same and killers are way too basic have that much debt it’s kind of gotten tired some especially without ghost face was handled because they didn’t remove the pallet stone taking power away thing because it was OP it was to fit him in line with the basic rules of other killers which is honestly a ######### dumb reason. You can make simple interesting and fun dead by daylight on the other hand isn’t that it’s simple and bare-bones that can make it really boring.
-
I would say this. What if you’re asleep for too long, freddy will begin to see small glimpses of your aura? The worst part is you’ll know so you’ll panic when it happens.
-
Soul at Stake, since it’s more on strategy and item management. Also really satisfying when you murder a survivor.
-
@JammyJewels said:
Seriously, can't we all just get along? Soul at Stake is like Dead By Daylight. Tyde put Myers in the Top Tier with Nurse (should have put Nurse in all tiers as it is all dependent on the player, to being unstoppable to psychologically scarred from the bullying) and we are all living a pointless existence. Everyone cool now?
The issue is SaS isn’t like DBD.
-
And it's complete garbage! Another bully the killer simulator and this time, you're slower than the survi...
......This is why we can’t have nice things. I’ve been playing soul at stake for a long time and this game isn’t about chasing them. You’re supposed to use strategy, it’s nothing like DBD so don’t treat it like it.
-
This was already the case last patch when the devs destroyed the audio, now they're going to claim it was intentional and for Balance all along?
Um...You have a free moving camera, you should be using it. I honestly don’t mind this change as it seems like overkill if you can visually see killers, why should it be directional.
-
I would personally argue about two things, change it where the obsessions affected by remember me to a lesser extent and have the obsession change to the rescuer like with furtive chases to get rid of the tunneling problem that the nerf never fixed. IF I do use it, I’ll still be tempted to tunnel my obsession.

@Aari_Piggy66 I see, I didn't notice before. Thank you!
@bubbascal I'm not really sure, it might have to do with the timing as I made this post directly before Ghostface came out, so I'm thinking that it's mostly because people were looking to make more posts to give feedback on the new killer and stumbled upon this instead. I'd say it's just timing really as I've had other posts that just completely died out.
That being said, while some newer players might DC against legion for their tracking, I remember reading a post somewhere on the forums where a developer stated that the disconnect rate went down by 40% meaning that it's still a massive improvement in that regard.
It still is painful that this is how they fix legion by taking any tiny element that made him unique and not adding anything new, only buffing his base stats and making it where the power is so bad you don’t even want to use it aside from maybe tracking.

Eeeh not really, that’s kind of one of the things that makes ghostface so fun. If he was nerfed to get rid of this, he would fall apart.

@TheMadDoctor I got punished yesterday as Pig when I tried crouching because of OOO kept seeing me. It made her dash literally useless. I almost rage quit because of how I felt during the match of constantly being teabagged and becoming a looped M1 killer on the game map against 4 SWFs who knew they had me. I usually don't mind SWFs but this was just pure frustration.
Aaaah ######### man. Sorry to hear, that does suck. Although the Pig is a killer that does need some buffs especially to her dash. The roar is honestly unnecessary since it’s not the only sound that plays during it, but if they never remove it a good buff to it would be to have the roar go off near the end of the ambush charge time and for it to charge a bit quicker. Although yeah being crouched should make you immune to detection perks.
-
@kabarekabal said:
I just want his stalk ability to be fair.
It's clear that he's supposed to stealth-stalk you, not so aggressively out in the open, kinda like Myers can.
For those who don't know - Ghostface's expose timer doesn't get reset if he breaks line of sight with the survivor he's stalking, he can then start stalking him again and continue his stalking progresss from where he left previously.
Survivor's reveal timer gets reset on breaking LOS, but ghostface's exposure timer doesn't, and that's unfair, and clearly not how he was intended to work.
Right now a players playing as ghostface get a guaranteed exposure on a survivor they're tunneling because they just break LOS before a survivor has enough time to reveal them, then back to chasing said survivor with little exposure timer left to do.
...Uh no that is intentional, especially since in many cases, Ghostface can be broken out of stealth through wall.
-
I will agree in some cases this could be adjusted as weirdly enough the only killer to really be untraceable with OOO is myer’s when he’s in EW1. It does feel silly when the stealth killers are trumped by something without a counter, I find it so weird too as OOO is kinda broken against ghostface. If he’s in night shroud, someone with the perk can see you 24/7 which is a little ridiculous in my opinion. Although the downside for the survivor is now ghostface can see them 24/7 too.
-
I do like these ideas. Although in my opinion, there are two suggestions I would love as I used to be a legion main.
For the stun time, I would prefer if you were given a reduced stun time for playing well. So, some ideas I had were a reduced stun time if you cancel FF early, and the stun reduction depends on how much power you have remaining, and/or your stun time is reduced for every survivor you chain together in one session of feral frenzy. This would make the nerfs to his cooldown addons more understandable.
This seems like a no brainer since legion’s killer instinct is still connected to his terror radius, if you chain hits, have his freaking terror radius expand to give legion players a better tracking method.
While the rework did fix toxic plays with Legion, in my opinion it feels half assed, you’re now heavily discouraged from using your power and now should rely on your base stats to win. It’s to me the reverse nurse, where instead of the power being what you rely on cause your basestats are awful, it’s more of you’re relying on the basestats cause the power isn’t good.
-
In my opinion, the detection is way too finicky to make it easier, I had moments where I was spotted and recovered by breaking line of sight, only it didn’t work. There was another time I got knocked out while a survivor was crouching fully hidden behind cover. That is a serious issue thats need to be fixed before the adjustments become a thing. Hell from truetalent’s vids it’s also possible to break ghostface when you’re fully behind a solid wall....yeah that’s fair. I also have been able to expose survivors but they are very good enoughbto where they can loop me long enough to where the timer expires. If ghostface does get nerfs, he needs buffs and adjustments to other areas that can reward skilled players. This is why i hate the legion rework cause yeah his base stats are good his power is almost useless cause they didn’t add anything for skill. An example would be chaining hits in one session of feral frenzy to reduce his frenzy cooldown.
-
@Catbucket said:
its bugfixes, and qol changes. The only thing thats an actual nerf, is the nerf to his addons, because they are currently broken. Other addons are being buffed.
He just came out though, kinda jumping the shark a bit.

This was a great killer idea. Great job Devs. In my opinion he didnt need a buff. Its only fair to be able to break him out of his stealth in 1.5 seconds or even 1 second with the camera when he has such a great stealth ability. What bothers me though is the fact that hooked and downed survivors can break him. Nerf him if need be but hooked and downed survs should not be able to break his stealth. Fixing that and sum of the bugs people are complaining about like his wall lean and center screen detect and he'll be perfect.
You know what, I agree. I have had so many moments where a survivor has broken me out of stealth even from behind cover or walls. That’s one bug I wished they fix cause it makes the break out a bit too finicky, plus yeah downed and hooked survivors breaking you out is kinda broken. The big issue here with the nerfs is that its way too soon, like freddy who got nerfed heavily roughly a week after he came out. They’re doing it too soon, when they should focus on live feedback and only adjust and fix exploits and bugs around ghostface.
-
@SimonSkinner said:
Ghostface was fine as is. I have not met a single person calling for a nerf. Some were doubtlessly out there but who on earth asked for this? If the devs have preemptively nerfed him then I have to question their design process. A week of this killer in the PTB cannot be enough time to determine how strong or weak he is.
this reminds me of the freddy nerf, only more embarrassing.

Actually that would be nice maybe at 85% of the Ambush charge it makes the roar?
Yes! This wasn’t my idea though, I heard it on one of Truetalent’s pig sessions. I honestly thought it was such a simple but good way to buff her. Her roar happens too early and gives them way too much time to react.
-
@Blueberry said:

I actually think what ambush needs is the sound removed from it. The crouch doesn't need more speed, it needs its view point to be raised to match her actual height, it's currently very limiting because of how extremely too low it is. If you increased the speed of it no one would ever be uncrouched which isn't its purpose.
Honestly just buffing the speed a little wouldn’t make it like that and instead of having the sound removed, delay the roar till she’s literally about to charge.
-
In my opinion, I feel like Legion’s mechanics aren’t really as fleshed out as they could be. I do agree legion’s vaulting speed is a little too slow. One issue is that I feel like there could be minor mechanics added to make legion much stronger but it all is rewards for the player playing legion well. One idea I had was to have it where the legion’s cooldown would be lessened by maybe one to two factors.
1:Have the cooldown be slightly lessened depending on how much feral frenzy you have left in the gauge when you turn it off when compared to letting it run out or missing an attack.
and/or
2:Have the cooldown also lessened depending on how many survivors you can apply deep wound to in one feral frenzy.

It could be solved by just having you pick up the damn item if you’re empty handed. I get the swapping items is annoying, but I just hope they add the pickup item when empty handed thing in. If that happens, theeen ok devs we square.

Killers have BBQ, the best aura reading ability in the game and it gives them double blood points and the stacks are so easy to get Compared to We're Gonna Live Forever.
Not a bad idea, but maybe not 6 seconds, it be longer than barbecue and chilli’s duration, so I would prefer it be in the duration of 3-4 seconds.

Having DS not be affected by Enduring would make no sense. You can't just make random exceptions to what the perk affects.
This is by far the better change, and will only affect trash killers that tunnel. Maybe they will learn to play less scummy now (not likely).
Still, 5 seconds seems excessive and this is from a killer main who thought the 3 seconds was too short. That mixed with being able to move one second after it hits is nuts. Still, if this is what they want to do, fine just don’t buff the timer. Now it shall be a slugging meta....ooooh shiiiiit.

I like new Decisive Strike rework, how it's designed to punish tunneling killers, but for that job DS is not doing that good and it's easy to avoid DS for killers.
Eh honestly at least adding half an extra second would help at least cause I got hit by it once...then chased them again. I can shake it off easily.

No, it's mostly coming from people who haven't mastered him yet. He's quite powerful in the right hands. I'm dreading a full on rework because of that, I don't want to relearn him.
(Whooops quoted the wrong guy, sorry, this is a response to when someone asked if Freddy really needed a rework.)
Honestly no, (mained him till he was literally fully maxed out at prestige 3.) but the big issue is his power doesn’t feel really that well thought out. For one, the winging it counter, where you just finish an action that is almost done when you’re falling asleep, is one of freddy’s biggest unfair weaknesses. Other killers can at least smack a greddy ######### for winging it when they’re right there. Yet, Freddy can’t do this, this weakness is only unique to him, and it undermines how the game is designed because being unable to do anything when the survivor is right there because you have to put them to sleep isn’t fair on the killer side cause any other killer can punish this. That’s something that if the devs made a killer with a power similar to Freddy now, they would of added something to prevent that. You’d think if they made the clown before freddy, that they would of had him throw his bottles at an arch so they could get over walls to help with chases? Well maybe, but the point is that something needs to be done about the winging it thing with Freddy. One idea I had was since you do see glimpses of Freddy during the Dream Transition, if you try to wing it like usual when you’re party in the dream transition, freddy should be allowed to grab you and force you into the dream world. That and having an action speed penalty when you’re falling asleep and to not have the auto aim go for awake survivors. Even so, I hope with the freddy rework, they add some stuff like this but also add more layers to his power to make it more interesting.
Sorry for the long post XD. I mained Freddy for so long I wanted to get it out there.

I forgot to tell something.
I noticed that if you play solo and are DL it is very difficult for your mates to tell that you are DL and therefore should be protected. Whereas with SWF it's easier because you can communicate.
So my thought was that the perk becomes stronger through hooking the obsession so that the others get the debuff information in the UI and therefore could protect you better. The Obsession is literally their (last) hope.
The cool down timer between hooks is to prevent tunneling. I think it works well with DS so why not with DL. And one minute is still enough to get away and play stealthy.
The Mori with 2 Tokens is just for style :) and it would fit the what if scenario DL is based on.
with the original post and this addition, I would say that would make the perk less crap. So goood idea.
-
...where did that come from? Hell I’m a killer main and I feel like it’s a little too easy to shake off and return to chasing(without enduring mind you.). Just an extra half second or enduring not working on ds be an interesting thing to test.

It should be in the game to serve it’s purpose and rekt bad killers who rely on tunneling.
...that’s literally why the perk was reworked in the first place. I will admit as a killer main, who rarely uses enduring, the stun time seems a bit tiny as I was able to shrug off the 3 seconds and get back to chasing. I feel like adding an extra .5 seconds on the stun time wouldn’t hurt. Either that or have enduring not affect DS at all. Still, I think you mislabeled this thread. It would of made more sense if you titled it,”Enduring undermines DS completely now.” The way it’s titled now makes it feel more like you’re gonna talk about enduring by itself being OP. When you're just talking about it’s relation to DS.

I am aware of the nerf to Bloodlust
However, in keeping with the concept of Bloodlust, speeding up other actions would help with the constant looping of infinites
The whole mechanic of Bloodlust is to catch up on a survivor eventually if they keep looping you, but one of the problems to looping is also windows... and since Bloodlust increases movement speed, I feel it makes sense to increase the speed of the others as well
Funny enough, I remember mentioning this idea to some friends, and I still think it’s a great idea. Although here’s an idea, what if you got a bloodlust stack if you were pallet stunned? Although you can only get bloodlust tier 1.
