Behavior developers have some mysterious and unknown reason for allowing solo que to remain in a constant state of disappointment since day one and instead of adding even the most basic tools to allow a reasonable level of coordination between survivors they opt to let them play in a handicapped state which has no logical reasoning.

The reason why I'm confident that solo que will always remain in this state is because even with complete overhaul of perks and mechanics such as the recent big update that was supposed to address "tunneling," the devs just showed their incompetence at providing a more effective counter to it and furthermore completely ignored camping.

In a multiple hour session of dead by daylight it's impossible to not encounter one killer employing tunneling and/or camping in a manner that overpowers solo que players due to their inability to communicate, in fact the only way to counter this playstyle is to have the entire squad on third party comms while equipping the most effective meta perks, something that's never going to happen in a solo que match.

Case and point is that even when the devs "try," to address these issues that cause the community to grow tired of the game they fail, to top it off they stated during that update that they have no plans on implementing any tools whatsoever at helping solo que players play more coordinated so I think it's fair to say that the devs have little concern for the well being of these players which considering how large of the population they make up is quite alarming to say the least.

Sadly, I have to agree with you.

After 90% of all my solo queue survivor games today being killers running Call of Brine + Eruption + Overcharge/Pain Res and tunneling the first survivor out asap, I've come to realize this game is just not worth it anymore. No more getting upset over the many killers winning games that they have no business of winning. No more waiting for BHVR to break the radio silence. No more waiting for the devs to make changes only after they've made enough money from people who buy Nemesis and Onryo for their perks. Playing solo q is self-flagellation and I've often wondered whether I have been masochistic or self-hating for putting up with it. Yep, I'm a whiny survivor main here to declare his departure from the game. Belittle me all you want. But for those of you who are also fed up with this solo q-stomping genkicking meta, this is a reminder that you can just leave too.

I don’t blame you. Solo is misery sometimes.

I'm trying to get to rank 1 tonight and over the weekend as it'll be my only time off work until the reset, and every single match ive played tonight has had at least 2 dc's at the very start if i get a too quick of down for the survivors liking. l

Now tell me bhvr, why in the hell did you design grades to be affected by dc's? if a survivor dc's , just give us brutal so we dont waste a pip, its ridiculous!

Ohhh nooooo. You can’t get to rank 1??? What will you do if you don’t make it??

Why should I buy a PS5 just to play Dead by Daylight? PS5 doesn't even have games.

I agree. There’s nothing on ps5 yet that I have to buy one. I can wait another year or two.

  • Switch is the worst. Screen is too small and controller is not great

  • @MrsGhostface said:

The game is in a bad state for survivors. That’s why this is happening more than usual. Nothing more to it really

Yeah the worst state it has been for solo, at least in my personal experience. I think that’s a huge reason for the uptick in dc’s.

  • Improvements to the solo experience would probably alleviate “some” of the dc/suicides.

  • @ImNotBobDylan said:

Unfortunately it is not a problem that can be easily fixed, survivors DC'ing is just the symptom of a much deeper problem, not the root cause.

I do not advocate for people DC'ing/suiciding on hook. But you cannot put all the blame on people who DC.

A few days ago my first DBD game was against a killer who picked Midwich offering. Within 30 seconds of the match, you can guess it, I hear the Nurse sound, baby Meg gets downed and then we all get exposed from Starstruck. Just after getting exposed, I immediately thought "This is ridiculous, I should DC" and at the exact same time one of my teammates DC'd in front of me. I decided to stay, needless to say we got spanked within minutes, the Nurse of course did not give hatch and after the game I saw her profile with 2000+ hours and lots of toxic comments implying she was only playing Nurse on Midwich.

Imagine coming back from work and expecting to play a chill game, and this is what you get, people would rather not play. I don't even think Nurse is OP (at all), but when the game starts like this you can tell within seconds that you're going to have a very unenjoyable match. Add stupid teammates to the equation, a dysfunctioning MMR, repeated loss streaks, unhealthy playstyles (facecamping etc.) and toxic end game chat, yes I know people will come here and proudly say "I never disconnect, it's poor sport etc.", but showing the world how moralish you are is not going to address the problem: DBD is a game where the worst possible unfun situations can happen out of any video game I've played.

A game is supposed to be somewhat fun, but if 5 people play and within the first 30 sec of the match already 4 of them have the impression that they are wasting their time, but the game forces them to stay, then something is severely wrong with the game itself, and of course people will DC no matter the penalty.

A good start to fix the problem would be to fix MMR so that you truly have 50% chance of winning. Getting 10+ loss streak in a row puts everyone in a very defeatist mindset that is not healthy in a game where you can suicide on hook.

    This 👆

  • Sounds like a normal day to me, haha.

  • Think about where most dc’s probobably occur: solo que.

  • Yeah I dont get why they dont find a way to improve solo when probably most players are solo players. This seems like a no brainer to do something about solo.

  • Happens to me all the time. I often think about all the wasted time in solo.

  • Yes solo is for massochists. You get the the worst team mates who run around doing nothing even when you run perks like kindred and at the same time try hard killers who hit you on the hook and sweat for a 4k against random solos who have no teamwork ability.

  • Maybe if there were some improvements made for solo que, there would be less DCs. Maybe…

  • Nobody cares about points. Maybe they should just fix solo and you wouldnt have as many DCs

  • Same here. Had several crashes on ps4

    - Survivors now get less speed boost distance after a hit.

    - Killers now recover more quickly from after a successful hit.

    - DS is dead.

    - Gens now take 1.5 minutes each.

Result: Camping/tunneling has become more efficient and easier than before.

    This.

  • I seriously don’t know how someone can complain about Windows of Opportunity. Must be a slow news day.

  • @SailedSavage said:

Killer does NOT need to know where the survivors are at the begining of each match let alone for how long they get it. movement killers that can instantly be on you in a few seconds make it too easy to get a hook right when the game starts. Every other game I play now I'm found and hooked within the first 20 seconds of the game before I get a chance to even figure out what's going on or do anything. Killers have WAY too many aura revealing perks that can all stack and give infinite wall hacks which you can literally do nothing about unless you are running distortion.

You already buffed the heck out of killers and nerfed survivors based on the top 5% of swf players even though the survive/kill ratio favored killers already. Us solo Queue players who don't have anyone to play with get stomped on every single game. This isn't fun at all anymore. I'm forced to run the same perks to even stand a chance now and even then I rarely get out. Idk why I bother posting on here all I'm gunna get is "sounds like a skill issue" or "it's fine stop crying" from killer mains or the fee survivors who play swf daily and don't understand solo Queue.

I feel your pain…. Oh so well.

  • Survivors can’t hold two items at once? Like solo isnt bad enough that we have complain about survivors holding the vhs tape and a medkit at the same time.

  • I lost interest at paragraph 30. Who has time to write or read all that??

  • @Adjatha said:

People who rage-DC should eat bans ranging from a week to a month. Anything less and they're just going to keep doing it, like they already are.

    Wow.

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

I don't know about the rest of you, but I actually have a VERY easy to exploit guilty conscience, and if someone DCs 30 seconds into a match after I down them for making a dumb mistake?

I feel bad! I can't kill them anymore, i'd be worse than a murderer-- a jerk. I HAVE to let them go at that point. And that takes time!

So please cut it the hell out. For my sake. I don't want to queue up for another 5 minutes only to bump into the least committed player in DbD for the third time today.

Well you’re a rare killer player. Most continue to stomp surivors after rage quits

  • I wonder what these peoples’ personal lives are like… nevermind, I don’t want to know

  • @MeanieDeeny said:

Yeah, the toxicity amongst survivors is disgusting…it’s sad. Solo’s have to go against killer and toxic teammates.

Yup. Solo is already an awful experience most of the time and then matches like the one I described just pours salt on the wound(s)

  • I’m on ps4. I seriously doubt anything would happen and I didnt record it either

  • I feel like there are way less good items and way more useless addons now

  • This game has a lot of problems. I think that those problems, however you want to define them, lead to disconnects.

  • Wow, Otz taking a break says a lot about the state of the game…

  • @Babz said:

    Hi,

I don't usually like to complain because I understand that being a developer for a game is a lot of work and effort to cater to everybody and everything that people want. However, being (most of the time) a soloq/2man survivor player, I can't play this game anymore. I have 2k hours, own a tiktok with over 15k likes and a Twitch channel just because of DBD, yet the game has grown to a state where it makes me feel 10x worse after playing than it did beforehand.

Killers are tunnelling all the time, I see the same few killers every single game and survivors just can't compete with all the stuff killers have these days. I don't necessarily blame killers for playing strong killers (because those like Pig, Ghostface etc are just boringly weak).

However I played 7 matches today with my friend, and we both have over 2k hours. ALL of those matches the killer got 4 kills and mostly ended by hitting on hook and nodding. I don't go around clicking my flashlight at them, I do gens and save when I need to, and I can loop the killer for a good few minutes, yet even then the match ends at 1/2 gens with all being dead.

I don't appreciate the excuse 'just get good' because I can loop and I can be useful during matches; with 2k hours of course I'm going to have some idea of how to do that. But nowadays, when a killer even just gets looped, they take it as a personal offence and tunnel you out and hit/nod at you. It's tiring and sad because I used to enjoy this game on both sides (I still agree that killers should have gotten the buff they did in the past), but now playing survivor against these killers just feels so punishing and leaves you feeling like there's no chance to win at all.

I'm going to stop playing because this game just feels like it's at a point where its stale and more toxic than ever. Thanks for reading and again, sorry that this post had to be so whiney and complainative, but I just had to say my opinion and viewpoint before I left. <33

Sounds like my daily experience. Getting stomped in solo is the expectation nowadays

  • I seriously cannot read one more post blaming the MMR system for the state of solo. There are so many reasons why solo is bad and to say MMR is the reason is just shortsighted.

  • Because killer players need that 4k to sleep good at night.

  • @Marigoria said:

By the stats that just came out, kill rate used to be a 53% before the big patch, and now is at 61%.

Survivors only have 39% escape rate right now, I don't even want to know what the % of that is solo q.....

    Source: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/346830

Solo que is 100% escape according to killer mains

  • Why don’t you try the “doing gens” challenge?

  • @Vanishlord said:

Just so you know I'm not referring to the forums I'm reffering to the actual game. Is it just me or every couple of matches theres always either a camping killer or a troll survivor or something else. I want to hear other peoples opinions on this.

yeah good question. I often wonder why killers are so toxic in solo que. Like solo isnt horrible enought

  • I come to these forums just to read the denials of how bad solo que is right now. I laugh so hard when I someone says “it’s not that bad” or “I win most of my games.” Like anyone believes that

  • @RatbasterdJr said:

Where do you get 90%? Majority of players are enjoying the game just fine. The forums represents a tiny portion of players.

Are you serious bro? Mind blowing comment
