Looping and pallets are part of the game--- and I DEFINITELY do NOT blame anyone who decides to camp or tunnel in turn of a game of looping. They're both part of the game, and high ranked killer is absolutely cruel to play under. Low ranks should treat you much better and are more fun.I agree. It seems that past rank 12 survivors are toxic af lol.
I think it's just a shared emotion between high ranks for the most part. And worst part is, it's so easy to rank up either side you can just play casually and get to the high ranks. Which results in tons of salty players and toxic personalities. It's almost like we're being punished for reaching high ranks as both roles. I'm not sure I can really ACTUALLY blame anyone for doing anything scummy (aside from cheating). Especially on the killer's side, as I think they have it much worse.

I've had some issue with BL, but I feel like anyone who's used the perk for more than a game or two has also run into some issues. The drop has to be distanced high enough off of a rock, vault, or building to proc. But then again I've also been held victim to BL not going off from lengthy heights.I mean, to be real. There's a lot of problems with this game's perks, and this is just another one to throw onto the pile. I think Exhaustion perks can be pretty buggy and often not proc. I mean, to be honest. I'm just happy they reworked BL to what it should have always been. It's a god send that there's no stagger upon falls when using BL. It's what it should have been from the beginning.
I have more issues with Adrenaline going off while I'm in the killer's grasp, resulting in a poor, sad injured survivor upon unhook.
ALSO, let me just mention DS has bugged out on me a lot recently--- Letting me use it TWICE in one match, even if I MISS my DS.
Sorry
Rant over.Yeah, I agree with you completely. Adre sometimes goes off when you are on the floor but it bugs out and you don't get up for a few seconds so the killer instantly downs you again
Yes. There's that too. Which makes me sometimes think it's broken so I don't move, only to be aided by Adrenaline too late, which normally results in getting downed instantaneously again. But I've had more issues with it going off while I'm being carried to a hook which = No Adrenaline, just a notification that says it's been used, and the Exhaustion recovery process begins while I'm hooked. Which really is a downer as well, because when you get your pits yanked off the hook you're (as I said before) just a sad, injured Survivor.

I can agree with this mostly, but at the same time it doesn't really bother me all too much. There's some good streamers I've come across out there that I genuinely enjoy playing with, who are most definitely respectable. But the majority of the streamers I've seen that are "toxic", are small streamers who can't get their break or keep their viewers entertained due to toxic personalities . I've had many of these small streamers rage in postgame chat, and they don't seem to care because they don't maintain enough viewers to care whether or not people see them being ridiculous.... I mean, why do they they think can't maintain any viewers? Because they're not presenting themselves in a light they should. Which means, mori time.
-
Scratched mirror Myers. But there's only so spooky a killer can get in this game. And that threshold is pretty damned low.
-
It's not bannable as far as my knowledge goes. A streamer has the ability to keep viewers from Stream sniping if they cared enough to do so. I hate seeing streamers complain about sniping, but not cover their screen, the players names, etc, or take precaution to prevent sniping from happening. Plus, what @beatddb said.
-
I personally can't stand being vaccumed to a hook when I'm at 99% wiggle-going on 100%... But I also can't stand when the message "[SPACE] HANG" appears at the bottom of your screen, and yet you instead end up sliding back and forth around the hook in a ferocious attempt to hook a survivor. The game's current state is leaning towards a very SWF strong playstyle, as much as we want to complain about these seemingly miniscule (they're miniscule at the moment) issues, we really can't. It's not the core, rooted problem in which the other issues in the game stem from. The real problem that becomes prevalent is the game's balance as a whole. I don't think anyone would be opposed to the idea of a small change like this being made. In fact! I think that in most cases a change like this would benefit your average game, and better the mechanics overall. But, alas Dead by Daylight is not your average games when it comes to these sort of things. If you change something like this, it could just potentially make it easier for Survivors to "bully" the Killer, and considering the game's favor on the Survivor side--- in turn make it all the more imbalanced.
People, the issue is the game balance overall here. It's not these small problems. This is like digging up the twigs attached to the roots of a tree, rather than digging up the core of the roots.

Yup, playing solo has always been a little bit more difficult. The game sometimes seems to force you to play in toxic SWF just to pop a win off. If pipping really matters to some people...

I favor the female survivors due to their hitboxes.

Fix camping? I can't tell you how many discussions I've seen come to creation in the last half-week. Yes, camping is annoying, but it is a legitimate strategy. There's no possible way that the developers will ever punish players for camping (or tunneling), especially when the game can end up being very survivor sided, and or when the exitgates are powered, and you have someone on a hook with zero sacrifices made-- due to gen rushing.
Like I'm open to hear possible changes and tweaks and legitimate ideas put out there to make a change on something. But I'm most disappointed seeing this thread. It has no heart to it, if you want something fixed or changed (even though it won't be in this situation), then throw in an idea or two. Nothing will get done just by throwing another average "CAMPING SUCKS, FIX CAMPING RIGHT NOW", thread into the mix (or any thread like that into the mix).

The amount of toxicity in this game is very high, and it does get to me as well. As a solo player, I've been the victim of survivors who work with the killer, too, and I have to agree that it is anything but an enjoyable experience. Recently, I have even thought about playing more killer, so that I do not have to deal with teammates who ruin the match for myself and the other survivors. However, despite this issue, I am under the belief that although we cannot control the toxicity of other players, we can control our level of sportsmanship and try to keep it alive in this game. I recently decided to give a "gg" in the post-game lobby of every match that I play, despite how the game turned out. It may not affect what others will think of the match, but it does make me feel better.
Exactly. There's very few players keeping any form of sportsmanship alive. I've always, no matter how bad the game I had was as killer or survivor--- I always shoot a "Gg. Gl in your next ones" into the post game chat. Normally others will follow along when they see that, but even then you still have the people who are like "Lol, you guys heckin suck, stfu", "end yourself".
-
I'd personally would rather be tunneled than camped. At the least, you have an opportunity to loop, juke, and mind game the killer, versus going against a camping leatherface or revving Billy boy. Camping is a legitimate strategy so I'm not as bothered by it either. As long as 4 man SWF's exist, and the game still goes in their favor I can't really complain about camping, tunneling, juggling, etc. I mean, what else are you supposed to do when both exits are powered and you downed someone by a door? Kind of have to cycle the doors and camp a little.
-
Dwight is a complete failure at everything else, so why wouldn't he give up the intiative to be a good survivor? I think he's our main man here.
-
I'd actually like that. The grind for Iri Shards is a daunting, and very prolonged grind. Personally it seems like the max exp you can draw from the Emblems post-game is about 18. I'd like to see a more rewarding number for the Emblems you receive. I think it would also be a good idea to reward a bonus for the rank, since we're not getting end Season rewards anyway. At least there would be something supporting more drive to rank up aside from the typical "well, there's SOME better games and players in high ranks".
Actually... just give us end season rewards devs.

true dat, ratt. i keep telling survivors i see doing the bouncy-bounce to killers that don't camp, that they are just creating campers and tunnelers. i am all for teabagging those that earn it but i have respect for those that don't. i just had a conversation with a leatherface who managed to clean out my fellow 3 survivors without camping or tunneling, hooked me twice and damn near caught me at the gate. he called this peculiar phenomenon "sportsmanship".Yeah I mean, we've probably all had a small chuckle at some of the exploits in this game, but there's a point in which it's not funny anymore. The people who abuse these exploits and bugs constantly cough cough Ochido cough cough are the ones who are destroying the humor, and creating a community that thrives under toxicity. As for teabagging, I just won't do it to killers intentionally since it seems to spark friction in post game chat, which also feeds to a toxic community. I mean, sometimes if my Survivor teamies do something stupid, I'll teabag them and get camped because a killer saw me and mistook it for salt.
Lmaoooo finding good sportsmanship in DBD is like discovering an ancient relic, or winning the lottery. Well... Maybe that last one's an exaggeration, but you get the gist of it.

My poor piggy is deprived....

To me, there's no point in maining a certain survivor. I just won't main any male characters due to the hitbox differences. Aside from that, maining a character is purely cosmetic. I just play a lot of Meg and Nea, for some of their customizations. Meg Main big brain

Yeah, being the victim of Surv/Killers working together sucks. I mean, I can't say that I haven't laughed when I've seen someone sell someone out in a locker, or tease someone, rat them out-- but it does get old eventually, unless you're messing around with friends, it can be very disheartening. There's a large quantity of players who do this on a day-to-day basis. I see it as playing survivor, and I see it when playing killer. I can't go a day without witnessing a Claudette ratting out a Dwight taking shelter in a locker. Personally, if I ever come across this as killer, I just murder the person who's trying to purposely give away their teamies' positions. I won't team up with the killer as survivor either. Everyone should have a fair chance at surviving.
Then there's the people who will team up with a Survivor/Killer, and laugh at the people who lie victim to it, but when it happens to them, those people mount their high horses and salt your ears off. It's kind of like... C'mon people, if you aren't interested in that behavior... DON'T ENCOURAGE IT--- Because IT WILL happen to you too. You can't claim that sort of entitlement if you're also an enabler.
-
Yeah, I have to agree with guys who said to avoid purchasing the characters with Auric cells. Not to mention how overpriced they are. Ten dollars/Euro for one outfit, the masked feng customization (head piece) alone is five. Call me crazy, but to me that's just ridiculous.

What exactly is the purpose of "the red stain"?The purpose of the Red Stain is to create a more challenging and fair chase. Let's pretend the Red Stain doesn't exist for a second. If you're a survivor and you're being chased by a killer, and the options you have to lose the killer are vaulting, and looping, with an occasional juke-- you might as well kiss a fair chance at surviving goodbye. Looping in jungle gyms would be difficult if you couldn't see what corner the killer is coming from considering the tight corners. You would die fairly quick.
Now with the Red Stain, you're able to predict what side a killer is going to come from, the Red Stain creates the option for a better, more challenging, chase--- as well as opening an option for various mind game strategies to improve your gameplay.
Though I'm not sure if the Red Stain is intentionally meant to leak through walls, and bend hard around corners. So.... RIP.

I'm too lazy to add it up myself, but I came across someone in game, who threw $300 USD on the new cosmetics, and still apparently didn't own all of them.

I feel like the Pig's mori could've been way more brutal like if she put an RBT on them and then breaks the timer so it pops open or something. When I first saw her mori I was like wow that's really underwhelming.I'd love to see that. I can picture her now holding a remote control or something of the sorts, and remotely forcing their head to be crushed by the RBT. However, I do like the look in the Survivors eyes that comes with her mori right now. Makes for some good screenshots. But.. It could be better.

Ah, alright, thanks for the info you two. That's a real shame. I was hoping I was being sly hiding behind walls, but apparently not. Beast of Prey isn't something I'm interested in either unfortunately since for my stealth characters I like to break off chases and the perk only activates when in a chase long enough to get bloodlust more or less. That, and I find the two minute cooldown ridiculous, particularly when compared with any other strong perks cooldown (sprint burst, 40 seconds).
I totally agree with regards to the uselessness of Beat of Prey. When the perk has been announced for the first time I was quite hyped about the idea. It seemed like a great perk to support the learn effect of the actual hunt taking away the decisions you have to make about the red stain and giving you the ability to focus on more important aspects of the chase. But unfortunately the high cooldown and the fact that you cannot trigger it at will (like Dead Heart f.e. - they wanted to implement those "activate ability perks" for killers as well) makes the perk an almost useless tool to me. I honestly hope Beast of Prey is gonna experience a buff soon.
Well yeah, I agree with that too, but right now I believe it to be one of those perks that has potential in a build that provides it support. Though, maybe not much potential, at the very least, make it more useful than it is currently as a "stand-alone" perk. I also hope to see some sort of buff on Beast of Prey's behalf in future updates. It really could be a great perk.

In my opinion this is actually one of the key abilities a killer needs to be capable of. A good killer will always try to moonwalk on several spots in order to not let the survs know where he is coming from by showing the red stain accidentally through a wall. As a killer main I honestly love that mechanic, that makes you feel even better when downing a surv after a successful mind game. When it defeats the purpose of Freddy, who in that scenario, was supposed to have an informational advantage it makes little sense to me that I'm forced to look away from a solid house wall in Lampkin (not cracked, like farm walls) and give that advantage up in an attempt to confuse my enemy by hiding the light.
But I guess it's also just another Freddy problem, since these walls in particular brought about a unique situation based on his power. Man, it is really hard to like this killer in high ranks.
Oh yeah, not to mention Freddy is already a difficult type of killer to play. Given most of the time to get a couple kills you have to tunnel, have great addons, or a Gen regression build applied. So I can imagine how frustrating the Red Stain would be, being looped to ######### by a survivor as Freddy.

Yeah. I was just saying if it drastically effects you or the way you play, or seriously bothers you, that's about the closest you can get to a "fix". But it's just another one of those perks, that if it's not used in a specific build it's basically just taking up a free spot in your Perk loadout. But, if used in a proper build, I'm sure it can be used as a massive strength during gameplay.

true, ratt. i just grow weary as it is literally every game now.Oh, yeah totally. I get that. Though I haven't been recently struggling with campers, so much as tunnelers. Which I'm more okay with being tunneled than camped. Tunnelers give an experienced player a wide opening to waste their time given the right maps, and assuming someone else hasn't slammed your pallets. It does have to do with ranks a little bit too, you commonly see campers (especially) right after rank reset, which in that case it's best to counter with DS. And in the high ranks it gets a little bit better, being provided with the new Emblem System. Though, something I must disagree with is that they changed the Emblem System last update to make it easier for both sides to pip. I highly disagree that it being "too hard" for some players to pip as survivor was the issue. I saw the results, and how well it filtered out the Survivors who shouldn't be in the high ranks. The issue in my opinion was, is it was still kind of easy for killers to get their pips, so in the high ranks you would still come across campers... Now with it seemingly easier again for both sides to gain their beloved pips.... I feel like this DBD Season entails a lot more campers and tunnelers making their merry ways to the top. Maybe I'm wrong, but this is how I feel about it. Sorry for the rambling.
-
In my experience, I've looped multiple times following the Red Stain, in which a lot of times has come through the wall. I have 900+ hrs in DbD, most as a survivor main, and I can account for the people who claim that. I'm not sure if the developers intended the Red Stain to work as such or not, but there's no denying that it has come through walls in the past, though it doesn't always. I mean, if you really wanted to get rid of it, though I don't recommend using this perk on Freddy in specific--- use the Huntress' Beast of Prey perk to eliminate the Red Stain.

As a Pig main, would you also rather have something to boost your ambush attack? Right now I strive to P3 all my Killers and have played a lot of Pig when she came out and now recently again before I prestiged her. The traps are definitely cool, but I would also love to see a little love tap done to her ambush. Like potentially they could make those combat straps just a base kit thing.Any ideas for a different 'game' and rules which focuses on her ambush? :chuffed:
Like she dismisses the RBT and instead survivors get those traps used in the third movie which killed the doctor she was threatened into killing, unltimately resulting in her death. Those shotguns rings or what they were called. Maybe survivors couldn't get too close to each other at that point or smth. I dunnu, I'll leave it to the experts.

I also main the pig as well. I have to second this. I'd love to see a rework on Amanda's ambush attack. It's so heavily countered by Sprint Burst (SB). I'd absolutely love to see a buff being put into the works to give an upgrade to Amanda's Ambush, and if not that, some sick addons. Not to mention, the attack itself w/ or w/o a survivor using SB is pretty weak. The gurgle-like sound you hear coming from Amanda prior to her Ambush is so loud and overpowering it's easy to dodge before an attack is planted on a survivor. With the exception of some tight corners where generators hide, specifically in the Jungle Gyms.

Well, I mean, it's not like I can't handle these things, or that I salt up the post-game chat or anything, but since we're talking about it. There's a few.
‣Survivors who Urban Immersion up to a hooked survivor who's dangerously close to reaching struggle tier.
‣Survivors who think that if they BT you, they "can't" sandbag you.
‣Survivors who haven't been hooked yet, who won't take a hit for someone else when the person being chased has already been hooked twice.
‣Survivors who run away from the generators after every missed skillchecks, or every half a heartbeat. Especially if it's almost complete.
‣Survivors that are really good, but run DS in higher ranks. Eg; Legitimate legacy players, 1-3k hr experienced players. (With the exception of rank reset, run it all you want at rank reset)
‣Survivors who rip you off a hook when a potential mori was put in, and the killer hasn't left the vicinity yet.
‣Survivors who die early on, but stick around to rage at one specific player.
‣Survivors who can't identify killer perks. BBQ, Nurses, etc.
‣Survivors who can't identify killer addons fast enough. Tombstone Myers, Insta-Hatchet Huntress, etc.
Then you have the rank 20's (I'm referring to the actual new players, or the very inexperienced), who hide in lockers, can't stop failing skill checks, run into the killer, walk or evade everywhere, who take you off the hook and run away instead of healing you, who aren't sure what's best for the team to secure a win.
Buttttt, I don't mind any of these players, because a lot of them are new and still learning. I just felt like I'd throw that in there, because new players exist, and annoy many other players unfortunately.
EDITS: Grammatical errors.
-
Well.. I mean, camping and tunneling bites, don't get me wrong. It really does. It's never fun being the one of your team mates to face off against an Insidious Leatherface, or a cloaked Wraith, but at the same time, we can't really complain too much either, can we? This is a game where as a Survivor, you're considered to be a good player by wasting the killers time, and running him around. A lot of people (I'm not saying you, or me, or everyone), include crutch perks in their daily DbD habits to secure a win or a pip of sorts. You get the typical pallet looping and the vaulting antics. You know? All that stuff that comes with the whole "time-wasting-survivor package". If a killer wants to tunnel and camp after that, or has had that in his past games and is just fed up with it, who's to deny someone of playing the way that they want to play? Especially since it's within the guidelines. Camping, and tunneling is in the game, and as much as I hate it, it is a legitimate tactic, due to the goal of the game being to eliminate all survivors, and prevent them from escaping. Even more so, camping and tunneling can't always prevent or counter the above average SWF 4 mans. If a killer has to secure a win by doing those two things, it's okay. And in my personal opinion, as long as we SWF teams exist. And no.. I'm not talking about the mediocre teams, I'm talking about teams who have enough experience with the game to "booli" the killers, then there's no way we can complain about camping and tunneling killers.
