What??? You are telling me BHVR isn't going to actually do anything about the slugging that they said they would do in the second half of the yesr? I'm shocked, utterly shocked.
They wouldn't revert the clown and knight nerfs in the ptb, but keep their buffs, too, would they? Nooo… they have never done such things…. Go ahead, save this comment and come back to me in a couple weeks when they do exactly that, again. Yep, nerf keys and maps, buff killer, and then call it survivor sided. I am so glad I have stopped playing this game. it's nothing but a middle finger to survivors.
-
I'm not worried for killers. The buffs will stay and they will revert the nerfs like they always do.

Nurse is banned because she’s the strongest killer in the game. She ignores everything — even simple walls. I imagine that in every competitive match or internal scrim you’ve watched, they’re always playing killers who either control multiple generators at once or completely bypass core game mechanics like pallets and windows — just like I mentioned in my previous message.
There’s a clear imbalance. Old killers aren’t weak, they’re just useless in comparison to the newer ones, who are way too overloaded. The issue isn’t with the old killers — it’s with the kits of the recent ones. Just look at the current meta; it speaks for itself. But you can’t claim that killer is the overall easier role just because two or three killers are completely broken.
So ignore the very strong killers, they don't count, but look at these strong survivor things… see how strong survivor is?? I mean we can do the same thing on the other side. Ignore the syringe and whatever else, those don't count. You can't say survivors are strong when they only have a couple of useful items.
The point of my comments are to say that killers also receive nerfs in comp. Perks get banned for killers, add-ons are banned for killers, play styles are banned for killers, and even some killers are banned. People seem to only think survivors get nerfed in comp, but it's both sides. That is all I was saying. Nothing more, nothing less. This isn't a debate about who is stronger, it's just debunking the myth that only survivors are nerfed.
-
Personally, yes. I don't use medkits, I play injured all the time. Gens are life. (Medkits are literally life, but yeah....) I'll give the smoke bomb thing a try. If I like it, Yay! If not, back to toolboxes.
Edit: Nevermind. I just read the comment from the dev that said it's not an opaque fog, but just more of a haze. Hard pass. I'll stick with my toolbox, thank you.

Iri head huntress is long time gone and huntress isnt best killer in tournaments (many players can loop her well even slinger is there stronger with his power being more oppresive in chase), acid blood xeno was nerfed so it isnt that strong maybe now with tunnel spawn fix this addon can do something but its not strong as first version, blight, nurse are strong even without iries and mayers with tomb stone is one of his two adon builds that can have chance against strong teams (mayers is slow killer before he can get his power going survivors can have some gens finished and his stalk cost him too much distance but his endgame around hook is much better than ghostface). From what I have seen every comp game strarts with guesing who isnt running ds,otr, dead hard to be turbo tunneled, camping is weak but if you need second stage than some proxy can be game changing. I mean nurse with full meta against comp swf with full meta is pretty even and the deciding factor will be things like map and first chase, nurse isnt best mobility killer and map like larrys can slow her down with blinks (its very hard to blink without knowing survivor runs this path).
Your opinion whether or not an add-on is strong is irrelevant. The point is that both sides have nerfs. Survivors are nerfed in comp and so are killers. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Camping is so important to comp DBD, that they forbid survivors from using the anti facecamp mechanic, so that killers can facecamp as much as they want.
i have never seen that rule, but I know camaraderie is a popular perk so they can stay on the hook longer and waste the killers time camping/more efficient on gens

Even if the stats were 2 or 3 years old they are not viable to go by and win in an argument that SWFs are still not that common.
Like why cant we as a whole group of players demand an updated statistics each year or half a year if its too demanding for them.
I still feel like BHVR is hiding stats from us to not lose partial playerbase because the stats are way more chaotic than they were 6 years ago, and 6 years ago people did not play with friends that often if my memory serves me correct people despised buying dbd and playing dbd because before the game was not that enjoyable for most.
On steam i bought the game in 2018 and booted it few times played 2hours max did not touch it since last year but on ps5.
Anyways back to stats, there is just no way that my matches as a killer are so different from one another, one match i can play casually and still win 3/4 kills at 3 gens left and then there are games i have to sweat tryhard patrol the best possible make no mistake hits just to get 1 down.
Its either that in those matches i play with 2 randoms + 2 premades or its 3 or 4 premades because its just impossible they know my every movement location at all times i run my michael ew 1 build to just jumpscare and chase people mainly hook and spread around and patrol.
So majority of aura perks dont work on me it makes no sense
Agree, I wish they would release the stats. I even said earlier, I'd love to see what they were for each year.
Yes, we can't go by 6 year old stats, I was just saying that BHVR did release those stats once before. I thought is was like 4 years ago, but turns out it was 6. But as someone who has played since the beginning, killers have always said that they play against nothing but 4 man swfs. And when BHVR released those stats, killers said they weren't correct.
Playing solo, I have been accused of being on a 4 man several times, and then called a liar when we said we weren't. Just because a couple of survivors know how to go in for an end game unhook, or know to go down at a pallet, etc doesn't mean anything.
Games vary one match to the next? Of course they do, mmr isn't real or it's just really broken.

First of all it all depends what is players skill and experience then killers very differ in terms of power level offcourse blight/ghoul will do better than huntress, demogorgan against very strong team. Survivors are still underpowerd from point of viev by many people but now they are strongest they ever been (by basekit ofc). Yes killers 4k in tournaments but there are hard restrictions for survivors if everybody could bring like dead hard,ds,unbreakable, wea are gonna live forever (basicaly full meta) and medkit with styptic or instaheal then killer would have hell and survivors would beat tunnel or slugging with ease. Gen deffence is all around hooks you need hooks to get perks and not all killers can do that faster than split swf with full meta and insane skill to slow killers progress down. Another thing is every tournament begins with tunnel and there are all strategies including proxy camping, slugging without them the outcome would be different.
You seem to only think survivors have restrictions. Killers have restrictions in tournament/comp play as well. What if killers brought in all their red add-ons? Iri head huntress, acidic blood xeno, tombstone Myers, blight with iri or purple add-ons, 3 blink nurse or really any purple or red add-ons, etc... comp play nerfs both sides. Like I already said, slugging is often banned in comp play, unless you want to be disqualified. Tunneling is discouraged, but allowed. You get more points for each new survivor you hook. If you tunnel and 4k, then you get all 4 points, if you tunnel and 2k, then you only got half the points in that category. Camping in comp play usually loses you the game, because comp survivors will let their teammate die on first hook in order to complete 5 gens. And I already stated that nurse is often banned in comp play. A killer is so broken that she is banned in comp play...
Again, like I said, in comp games it comes down to who has the better killer. Most games end with 4ks, but how fast did you get your 4k?
You can say things would be different if there were no restrictions on either side, but every match would be a slugging 3 blink nurse. Every game would most likely end in a tie. Where is the fun in that?

No, I dont need acces to their data files, i just want them to be honest about the context around the data. We deserve that. All of us, not just me, not just survivors, not just killers. Everyone.
To be fair, if they gave you all that info and it said 4 man swf was still around 4%, would you believe it, or would you still believe that they must be manipulating the info?

By Omitting stats and important context behind those stats, they are essentially making it difficult to trust a single thing they put out. If they are manipulating sentiment by omitting data and context, then they could be fudging the data they do show us too. I want to see the updated stats and context behind those stats.
If I'm understanding you, you don't want stats, you want access to their data files? I mean, sure they can manipulate the data, but we can only take what they give us at face value. Asking for more isn't really reasonable.

they are hiding the data. I looked it up and the last time we had any stats on this was in 2017, in the games infancy. BhVR is picking and choosing what stats they are showing us to push a narrative. Anyone who has taken a statistics class will tell you definitively that statistics can be manipulated to tell a lie, and one of the ways this happens is by omission of data that shows that something not so good is happening.
2019 was the last time. I made an edit and linked the stats I found. The stats include both Xbox and ps4 numbers, too. So it's much better than 2017, but yes still 6 years old.
I love the quote "Statistics don't lie, but liars love statistics."
Like I said, I'd love to see an updated stats as well. If we could get stats from every year, that would be awesome. (Year 1, year 2, etc.)
-
@Nomade said:
The overwhelming majority of survivors are SWFing it up because BhVR are hiding the stats. I have never ONE time seen BhVR ever release statistics for just how much of the survivor playerbase is SWFing in their matches. I think it is time for an audit.
They did release stats about each: solo, 2 man, 3 man, and 4 man. If I recall correctly, it was a few years ago and they did it only once. The majority was solo…60%? Then duos, then 3 mans, and a 4 man was 4% at the time. I would love to see an update of numbers as well.
Edit: Looks like it was 6 years ago 😄 https://share.google/TXhzLaJHFag3LTqfN

Strongest thing is probably comp swf with full meta ( in totnament they have perks and items restrictions, if they didnt have them then even best blights woul sweat more), then are s-tiers and high a-tiers right behind them ( they are the ones who can deal with strong swf or teams, third are kilkers on avarage and last are solo q which isnt surprising they lack team work and coordination which is the whole reason why they loose because you can get sable running whole game with flashlight trying to be jedi master and get saves but dont get them and doesnt do objective which hinders whole team or meg which is the bane of all teams. Problem so dont see basekit features like basekit ds,bt wont bring solo q and swf closer but only makes the gap even bigger, same with killers being able to deal with this features like difference between trapoer and blight ( thats like from bottom of ocean to the top of Everest).
I disagree, killer is the strongest role, even in comp. You frequently see 4ks in tournaments. Points are scored by how many gens were/weren't completed. Escapes/denied. Etc. (Each are a little different) You frequently see everyone die, and it comes down to who has the better killer on their team.
Each tournament has different rules. Offerings tend to always be banned. Perks are banned on both sides, some ban more perks than others. A survivor only restriction is one or two survivors can run the same perk (typically one, but I have seen two). Only common and uncommon add-ons for both sides. I have seen slugging being banned, nurse banned, mori's banned, etc. Point being, survivors aren't the only ones nerfed in comp play. Killers are nerfed too, and they still get 4ks against top mmr survivors.
Killers are very strong and these basekit changes have made them extremely strong. The problem is that a lot of killers today don't know how to play at it's top level. You don't need aura to find survivors. You have crows and scratch marks. OG killers and comp players know this. You don't need to gens to take longer, 4 gen slow down perks, and to tunnel or slug to get a 4k. If you keep survivors in chase, and on the hook, you have natural slow down. Comp players know this, and that is why comp survivors will let a player go second stage or even die on first hook so they can push gens, because if they don't it's game over for the survivors.

I'm with you upto a certain point. The problem is when the average gets skewed so hard by these outliers… Then you can't balance to the average either. Maybe I'm just an exception to it, I don't know, but I defo feel the game is survivor sided. I keep escaping as survivor, yet as killer I keep having a miserable time. Again, I'm a 2016 player prodominantly played killer during those years. You can't just argue that I suck as killer and somehow am a god as survivor… 'somehow'…
PS: I'm not a god, I can still go down when outpositioned.
Same with me. I started playing in 2016 when Myers came to the game. I play very little at this point, but I play more survivor and always have. I have 4k hours at this point, and my escape rate is 34%-37%. I don't play scared, don't immediately unhook (situational, obviously), gens are life, no man left behind if possible, do not hide for hatch (either gens or pick up the slug/unhook), average at looping (I'm no Ayrun, but not a noob either), etc. I do primarily play Friday and Saturday nights, which I do think is the worst time to play survivor, but my experience is nothing but 4ks. So from my side the game is massively killer sided. I'm honestly surprised my escape rate is as high as it is... unless abandon is really affecting my score. My kill rate is...64% or mid 60s, no higher than 67% (I'm on mobile and I have my stats on my computer).
I'm in a mirrored boat of yours. I'm nothing special with killer, but have no troubles (typically), but I get stomped every game as survivor. It's so bad it's not fun any more. Played a few games last night and had to leave the event queue, because we (duo) were getting nothing but tunneled and camped and stomped out at 4 gens. It was a little better in the regular queue, I escaped once or twice.
I really think this goes to show how bad mmr is. I mean, how else can we both feel so defeated in our respective roles? I mean you (you in general, not you specifically) can't say it's a high mmr thing either, because I rarely escape. My mmr has to be trash, but the killers i face are not. Make it make sense.
I feel ya friend, it's painful at times. I don't know what the exact answer is, but I feel like it lies somewhere in MMR.
-
@Munky said:
No disrespect to anyone, but it is kinda fascinating to see some people post double/half the escape rate compared to others. As in 50-60 % vs 30-40%.
From this I assume BHVR isn't lying about their own stats, that there are some people rly bringing down the average hard. Again, don't feel bad about this, I'm just analyzing the stats. I was sure for years that BHVR was lying about 40% being the average. I guess I was wrong.
I truly wonder how much the lowest escape rate survivors play though, and if they don't play much… why should the game be balanced towards them? My train of thoughts here is that a majority of them are brand new players, playing only a few matches on a free account and then never return… Am I wrong to think this?
I also understand that BHVR needs people to keep coming to the game, so at the same time they need to make the game attractive to play. A survivor that dies 3 matches in a row as a new player isnt very attractive.
I also hope that people see it from my point of view. Cause there are plenty of people still, that have been playing since 2016, and they just want a better balanced game for both sides. To have fun on both sides… Currently I am having a miserable time on killer side. Even though I was a killer main from 2016 to 2024. In this regard I believe BHVR is actually pushing people towards playing survivor, cause they need more survivor players to even out the Queue times. I just hate this, cause I'm a solo player, obviously leaning more towards wanting to play killer… Yet I barely get myself the courage to play killer once in a while these days. I don't mind losing btw, I just hate having to Q for 15 mins and the game be over in 5 mins, because for some reason I keep going against very efficient SWF that spread on gens, plus prerun before I get anywhere near their gen (obviously voice comms as I see scratchmarks upto the horizon where I see them running). I often get matches with very few chases due to this.
To be fair, we have seen kill rates between 60%-85% on average. We even saw someone here with a 90% kill rate, doesn't that seem a bit high? And it looks like abandon match is registering as a survivor win, so falsely increasing escape rates and lowering kill rates. Maybe this suggests killer nerfs?
The game should be balanced around the average. Not the top tier, not low tier.

Having visited nightlight a time or two, 4ks are typically the most common result. I now am seeing 0ks rivaling the 4ks. I assume that's a bunch of people new to the killer role trying things out. How many times have we seen here and on other forums people saying that survivor is miserable and they are switching to killer? The stats would suggest those survivors are trying out the killer role. Nothing more, and the numbers should even back out soon enough.

Yikes. That's truly disappointing. Am I surprised? Sadly, no. If this is true, I'm sad to be considered part of a community that would do such a nasty thing. My thoughts too. All of these game breaking qol changes for survivors all turn out to be duds, or nerfed into duds.
By the time BHVR realizes that the game is coding, it will be too late to resuscitate. Survivors have the DNR papers in front of them, and ready to sign them at any moment.

My guess is:
• Anti-slug will mean you can abandon at 2 minutes, instead of being slugged for the full 4
• Anti-tunnel will mean the hook won't do an exploding sound when the survivor is unhooked
• Anti-camp will just extend the range already in place
Nothing that is really going to change game play at all, but still going to take them months to implement for some reason.
-
It would not surprise me in the slightest
-
Escaping.
For me it, it's not one singular event. It's the overall end result, and it's just getting worse.
• 6.1 is obvious. It was the beginning of the survivor downfall.
• Then map changes. They have gotten very small with no safe loops. Killers can hold a 3 gen by standing in the middle of the map.
• Tunneling and proxy camping have gone unchecked.
• Slugging is still an issue
• Survivors all start together opposite of the killer. Cool, it's not like half the roster doesn't have speed or a teleport ability.
• Hatch is practically useless with these mori changes.
• The 4% is dead
• Stealth is dead (for survivors)
• Constant perk nerfs, or buffs to perks that are trash and no one will still use.
• Not a change, but still problematic. Having to go into the match blind. Might my build be completely negated by the killer? Maybe. Yet, killers can change there loadout or DC before the match starts, because they don't like something they see. This is a dated mechanic and needs to go.
Survivors are being forced to play with only one playstyle. Genrush. Why? That's not a fun playstyle for killers either. And it will only be a matter of time until they nerf gen speeds, again.
Why not just replace the survivor role with bots. It's clear that they don't want the role to be enjoyable for anyone to play.

I'm not asking them to play my way. I'm asking them to actually play and not leave the damn match.
Except being slugged is not playing the game. Would it really hurt you if the slug abandoned and became a bot? The person slugged can now play their next match and you can still chase after the 4th survivor. Nothing changed except the person forced to lie there and wait can now play a new match. That should be a winning scenerio for everyone.

what about three slugs and the killer is chasing the fourth? There's no end to what some want to leave for because the goal is to leave at anytime for any reason.
Who cares? Let people play how they want to play. It's a game for heaven's sake. Why is everyone so concerned how everyone else plays. Play how you want. Could you imagine if you were forced to play as trapper or SM or what not because of their low pick rates? Stop forcing people to play in ways that they don't find fun. Being slugged is not fun. Full stop.

Hey there folks! I mentioned this in another thread, but wanted to make sure I caught y'all as well, given this threads specific focus on the changes to AFK crows.
Arguably the most useful intel we can get right now is footage of this happening, as that helps us understand the exact circumstances that led up to this. If any of you have video footage of situations where you received an AFK crow over the course of regular gameplay, we'd love it if you could share it with us. I'd make sure it's shared with the relevant folks!
Specifically, it would be immensely valuable to have footage of instances where this is happening, including the 2-4 minutes leading up to the AFK crow appearing. That way, we can get a clear idea of exactly what gameplay led to this situation.
Why do we need footage? Community feedback is that it is not well received. We frequently see comments from devs/mods "we heard your feedback" and didn't go forward with the artist add-on changes, or the xeno changes, etc. But since this effects survivors we need video evidence? The community was screaming this is going to be a problem, and look, it is, yet our screams fall on deaf ears. It's utterly defeating.

i bring it up because it's counterplay to slugging for the 4k
i think the 3rd survivor should be slugged for 4 minutes as a punishment for not bringing one or both these perks since this is such an issue and the game hasn't ended yet
also i have a similar but unrelated question should a killer be allowed to quit if all gens are done?
Survivors should be punished for not bringing in certain perks.... well, that's a take. What if they did bring in those perks and they used them/killer kicked their boon? They should still be punished? What if that killer can't catch the 4th guy, he's a looping god, the 3rd guy should be punished? You and I both know that mmr is crap, why should either side be punished for things beyond their control?
Should killer be able to abandon when all 5 gens are complete? I don't care, go for it. Why would I care? I don't think anyone should be punished for being matched against an unfun team. Does the killer still have a chance to gain a kill or two in end game? Sure, it's possible, but if you don't want to try or it feels hopeless, then peace out. Good luck next one.

I think in this case it should only be when the last 2 survivors are left. You already can DC if all get slugged, you shouldn't move that to when 3 get slugged, because thats starting to push the line a bit too much i think.
In a case of 3 slugs and one up, their is still a chance the one can get everyone up (or one up and now that guy gets one up, so on and so forth). Not all hope is lost.
I was just using it as an example to explain that in this case you can't abandon yet.

if it's such a problem why not bring unbreakable or exponential and adapt?
As you already know, unbreakable is a one time use, and killers can easily kick boons, but that is also irrelevant to this conversation.
Can I ask why you want the 3rd survivor to slug around for 4 minutes and not be allowed to move on to the next match?

they already abandon especially if they mori. why is slugging for the 4k a bad thing?
The 3rd guy (other 2 are dead or slugged as well) has to wait 4 minutes or until the 4th guy is caught. Why can't the slug just abandon match. The killer can still look for the 4th guy while person 3 can move on.

If your trying to figure out how to counter certain killers, I'd recommend playing AS those killers. Let's you figure out exactly what they see and hear so you can use that to your advantage AGAINST them. There's plenty of things that might not be obvious facing AGAINST a specific killer that becomes apparent when you try it yourself.
Also... if your picking up a killer for the first time... try custom matches against bots. It's not a pure 1 to 1 substitution for playing against people, but it is a nice way to sort of get a feel for a character.
Would that help? Yeah, i agree, playing the other side does help you learn. Except there are 40 killers in the game now, and what...? Half or so cost additional money, while the other half cost hours of your time or real money. It's not reasonable to drop hundreds of dollars on every killer to learn their counter.

I tested intentionally standing still/running around without doing anything and it felt too generous.
I still have yet to see Survivors get AFK crows by playing the game normally.
What I have seen however is that before this patch, sometimes my soloqueue teammate would not do any objective for a minute straight at the start of the game. So yeah, I think encouraging objectives is good. This is one of the greatest changes brought to the game in recent times.
I only played 2 games. 1 on dead dawn, no crows. The other was the new map, I recieved crows once looking for a gen because I don't know the map. Almost got them a second time (I think) looking for another gen, found it and then thrilling tremors, or grim embrace, or whatever gen blocking perk activated, but I was able to get on it before crows activated again. I was absolutely playing the game normally, but searching on the new map took me too long. That's ridiculous.

Replying to your reply to me. It's a fair point. I was just pointing out that even the most experienced players have it in their playbook to tunnel, but yes, as you said, tournaments to have special rules mostly having survivors playing with one hand tied behind their back.
I don't know where people come up with the idea that only survivors are nerfed in comp games. It depends on the tournament, but nurse is almost always banned, sometimes blight, slugging is usually banned until end game, so are some killer perks, and I'm sure other things I'm not even thinking of. Survivors typically can't duplicate perks, no duplicate items (unless found in match), and certain perks may be banned as well. Sounds like both sides have equal nerfs in place.

Again, it's bad
in comparison to game-breaking tactics that have been wreaking havoc on this game since its inception. You have no leg to stand on when trying to judge the method on its own merits, because you, yourself, have refuted the concept of killer skill entirely, so how do you know when a killer is matched against survivors of 'equal skill'?
YOU guys are the ones that keep comparing it to tunneling and camping. My judgement of multihooking has entirely been on its own.
And yes, I do have a leg to stand on. Obviously killer skill matters to an extent, my POINT is that if both sides are of equal skill or if the survivor side is better, multihooking immediately becomes a detriment to do.
Because again, say it with me now:
Leaving 4 survivors alive for an extended period of time, is objectively bad.
That is not arguable. That is not debatable. Whatever word you wanna use, it isn't. It's objectively bad, to leave 4 survivors alive for an extended period of time.
The problem is that your one complaint is that you lose sometimes, and you're turning a blind eye to several years straight of patches almost exclusively aimed at making killer gameplay better, to focus on the one instance of survivors getting something and demanding 'equality'.
"The one instance"???
Yea I'm sorry that's the most disingenuous thing I've read so far. I've been playing this game consistently for years now atp, to sit here and lie and say that this is the "one instance" of survivors getting anything, is just factually incorrect.
Not to mention that what you are arguing for is to take an already skewed balance and skew it even further. That's not 'making both sides feel better to play', that's just plainly bolstering one side at the express expense of the other.
Again, why are we acting purposefully dense.
No, me saying to make multihooking better whilst also making tunneling, camping and slugging worse is NOT me skewing it further to one side.
That doesn't even make sense.
And again, you complaining about losing too much
Nowhere did I say I lose too much, often, or anything of the sort.
You can scream 4v1 is massively survivor sided all you want, that doesn't make it true. The game is balanced around 4 survivors, and then completely falls killer sided after that.
But let's pretend it is survivor sided for the sake of this argument. You're saying it's not fair that survivors have a 25% chance to win. Because it's easy to tunnel one out, making it 3v1 and the killer wins. Then 2v1, killer wins. And lastly 1v1, killer wins. Killer has a 75% chance to win in these scenarios.
If you actually wanted the game yo be better for everyone then 3v1 should lean toward a survivor win.
I truly hope BHVR is paying attention. Survivors are not having fun and we all know it started with 6.1 and just went down hill from there. But are killers happy with this power imbalance? No, they aren't. They still want more. They apparently won't be happy unless they are playing against baby bots to guarantee their win. BHVR need to save the survivor role before it's too late.
I still follow DBD content since I have been playing this game since Meyers was introduced, but like Pulsar, I too, rarely play anymore. I play games for fun, DBD survivor is not that.

I'm sorry if I overlooked it, but what's the status on Invocations?
do I need to rush into the basement like a headless chicken?
Nah, just do like 15 seconds of the gen just above the basement first. When the killer walks by they totally can't hear you doing your thing in the basement. Lol, so dumb. (Not you!)

I'm even more excited for the next 2v8 because they should have the killer queue thing, where you can play survivor while you wait for your killer match. Let's go!

Solo strongly needs qol improvements. Feels bad man

Think if there's enough backlash or reasoning they won't touch anything?
Yes, this works for killers everytime.

was the hatch actually there and open, or was it a visual bug, maybe?

Can you record when this happens next time? I'll make sure to record when I play survivor to see if the same happens to me and upload it. Right now people are saying "no this happened to me" and I'm honestly curious because I'm not seeing this happen to me. It will also help to see what could be causing the bug if there is one.
Yeah, I can try. I typically don't record, but I think I know how.

hahaha, the person who told you to drop the pallet on your teammate and to use shack window to…. vault into Kaneki? is calling you low mmr?? Well.. I do enjoy comedy.
Without seeing the rest of the map resources (what you ran past), we can only go off what we can see, and you were in a no win situation. You were probably SOL regardless of the killer, but yes ghoul can catch up way to quick, and everyone knows that whether or not they want to admit it.

It's not bugged. I went into a 2v8 game as a killer and wanted to test it. So I found someone in a cage and stood in front of them. After a short while, their cage was moved. I can only assume if people are able to camp a caged survivor, it's because another survivor was near by and they were not aware of this.
You confirmed that it's a bug then, and that BHVR didn't intend for it to be removed.
I was in a cage with a killer who camped me and I did not move locations. When you are in a cage you can see the auras of survivors. And I'm pretty sure the opposite side of gallows map is far enough away.
I believe there was someone else caged near me.... I wonder if that was the other survivor nearby, lol.
