I think it would help a bit if in each lobby they added a couple of bots for the survivors. Queue times would reduce for sure.
I think the opposite would be true. I wouldn't willingly queue up with crummy bots on either side, and I don't think many people would. Wait times would just increase unless you can get a full lobby of bots. But, again, who would want to play against a whole team of bots? No thanks.

I understand for newer players bloodpoints are all the rage, but they don't excite me, I hate completing bloodwebs. i frequently max out and lose BPs because I hate completing webs.
I enjoy playing survivor when I have a shot at escaping, so I don't really need anymore incentive to play, but maybe shards, one per match or something might entice people to play. We need to think outside the box, seeing that 250% and 400% didn't solve the issue last time. Shards might though.
-
Check out bloodhound. It's not scratch marks, it's for blood, but once they are hit there is a bright red trail following them. I think it's an underrated perk.
-
Hell yeah, I will. I love doges! I will sit there and pet snugs while survivors waste their time on gens. The entity will be pleased petting my doge too.
-
Yup, this confirms it. I'm buying this dlc

i keep seeing nonstop posts about this, but its just a placebo. killers were slugging for the 4k waaaayyyy before this change.
i hate to say it, but it truly is a skill issue. most players are bad, especially survivors, it takes about 8 minutes for 1 gen to pop, and they cant loop at all.
but against stronger survivors a generator pops within 45 - 50 seconds, and thats not an exaggeration.
the game needs to do a better job of teaching survivors how to survive better, without resorting to outside media.
Ah yes, most players are bad, and when I say that I mean only survivors have no skill…. yeah, killers are just naturally skilled at the game. Or. Or. Hear me out. The game is killer sided. The game is so killer sided at this point that killers now think they are just that skilled at the game and don't realize how much the devs hand the game to them.

blast mine and knock out
Really? You don't like blastmine? Maybe it's because I run it as survivor, but I laugh when I get hit by it as killer. To each their own though.
-
Unbreakable should have unlimited uses as well.
-
In chaos shuffle, I got coup de Grace and bloodhound, and I was quite impressed. They have made their way into my rotation.
As survivor there was a perk that gave you tokens for each survivor hooked that could be dumped on a gen. Interesting perk, but could be situational, and you can get more consistent value from other perks.
-
I'm going to go with the standard killer response when talking about getting perks nerfed...you should be happy that I'm running woo. That's one less gen rush perk I'm running.
If you nerf woo, I'm just going to run another gen rush perk.
You don't like gen rush perks, but chase perks are a no go as well. What perks are we allowed to run?

Wait, Dracula is actually in the game?
Kidding, but not kidding. I have only played against him once. No one plays as Dracula. So I truly have no opinion of him 🤷♀️

This mode was basically a return to the OG game, without all the perks.
But, tbh, it failed once, it looks like it will fail again, I'd say we abandon it.
Bring some out new modifiers, for example the Hide & Seek mode they mentioned.
How dare you tarnish the name of OG DBD! OG DBD was fun. This...this is just painful.
In all seriousness though, it's not much like the OG game. The maps were darker, but not this dark. Unless you mean it was more hide and seek like, but most people aren't playing that way.
It's just a wonky mode/modifier.

I'm always cold and I prefer a warm pillow...so thanks!

When I first tried huntress, I sucked, hard. I like Nemesis though. I spent time learning how to use the tenticle and trained my eyes to the center of the screen. Now huntress isn't half bad. I'm not making across map hits, but I can down people in chase no problem. Honestly, you just aren't ready for her, or you need practice.
-
Trapper doesn't need any nerfs.

Killers use unsavoury strategies regardless of how much the current meta favours them or not. It's a player issue, not a perk one.
Love your user name
-
The lame meta has been here for a while. Survivors are not meant to have fun in this game. What's considered fun? For some, having 3-4 people escape. Let's be real, that doesn't happen often. Maybe looping the killer for a while? Nah, here are a bunch of anti-loop killers, because long chases aren't fun for killers. Fine, let's just screw around with flashlights or saboing. You won't win, but it's fun. Nope, nope, nope. That's toxic, and killers don't like it.
I also love to see killers complain about survivors hiding when it's down to 2 and then they either slug or bodyblock the survivor they do find....which is it? Stalling the game is toxic or only when it's not you doing it?
Wake up BHVR, you're letting 20% of your community destroy your game.
-
You are 100% correct. People trying to tell you that you're just burnt out, clearly play more killer. To be clear, nothing wrong with that, we need both killers and survivors in the game. I started playing dbd almost 8 years ago, with the release of Myers. I have about 4k hours in this game and about 75% of those hours on survivor. And I have stopped playing as well. I came back to try out 2v8, and who knew that getting to win sometimes is fun?
This game has gotten so killer sided and all I see are suggestions to buff killer more and even nerf survivor even harder.
2 survivors left and no one wants to touch a gen. Why is that now an issue? In all 8 years of this game being around, this rarely happened. Why are survivors killing themselves on hook at an unbelievable rate now? Maybe because kill rates are in the mid 60s to low 70 percent range? Survivors are over it. They are expected to lose more games than they win, does that not sound absurd? Who wants to play a game where you have a 25% chance to escape, but that escape isn't even a win? Why do you think 2v8 was fun for both sides? Sure killers could play with a friend, but survivors had a chance to win.
And what are majority of the suggestions? Remove hatch and give killer aura reading. Survivors are not here for the killers fun! They want to have fun too. BHVR wake up! That or get ready for dbd to be killers vs bots.
And no, I'm not burnt out. I love this game, but the love is clearly one sided. :(
-
Agreed. 2v8 was fun for survivors. I really wanted to play killer, but the wait times were too much, and I probably would have played huntress, so it's best that I wait it out, lol. But I don't see how game play would have been bad for killers.
1v4 has beaten the piss out of the average survivor. It's killer role or nothing for me.
-
There is a tome challenge to cleanse totems. I think it's the regular tome, but could have been a past tome I was completing. Those were the only totems I took out. So that could be part of the issue
-
I understand what you are saying, but these kids are already exposed to it, and if their parents monitor their electronic stuff, and don't let them play these things, then they still won't.
I'm old, but I started watching Nightmare on elm street when I was 4 or 5. FNAF in DBD would be nothing for me at 10 years old. My children don't watch horror, and find FNAF scary. Depends on the child and the family. DBD isn't going to be the thing that breaks anything.
-
I agree. It's fun to win sometimes. I forgot what that felt like playing 1v4. While playing against huntress every match got old fast, successfully looping 2 killers is a blast, even if it only lasts 20 seconds or so.
I took a break from playing 1v4. I came back for 2v8, and glad I did. I'm out again when it's gone. 1v4 is too oppressive to survivors.
I've been playing since the Mikey release, and they sucked all the fun out of 1v4 survivor. Seeing the long wait times for killer in both modes has me thinking many others feel the same way. It's sad, because I do love this game, but it's lost it's fun.
-
Here's the neat part, you don't. Thanks for playing!

Apart from the fact it wasn't really copy-pasted was it? Because the Killer cannot see where you were caged, nor can they see when you are taken out of the cage, nor can they stand around your cage because you simply move to another part of the map.
The killer can't see where the cages teleport to?
I'd love to play killer, but not with these queue times :(

And here is the person who takes it personally lmao. This discussion is not about me or you. It is a general problem that my friends and I are facing a lot as well as others. And the intended rate is and always has been 60 % kill rate. So if that number is not met. things need to be adjusted
"The intended kill rate is and always has been 60%" is just flat out wrong. It was 50% for about 6 years. When the kill rates started getting higher and higher, they said that they were okay with it. They were okay with 55%, then 60%, and I believe it's 64% last time they gave us stats.
Some of us have been around forever. We remember.

I started out on pc with a controller, and I felt like I reached my max potential there, so I learned keyboard and mouse. I definitely agree that they play totally different

The problem is you'll be able to count the number of full matches you'll be able to complete on one hand, because it will be 0.
Because killers do it before the match ever starts. I rarely get a lobby with a killer who stays from the beginning. It's the 3rd killer on average that takes the match.
If survivors could see the killer pre-game and were able to dodge as well, I'm sure hook suicides would decrease drastically too.
Also no, the number also wouldn't be 0. I've had plenty of killers ragequit on me, or at very least lose their connection when the game isn't going their way.
I wonder how many more killers would ragequit if they couldn't see the lobby before hand and couldn't adjust their build based on what they see, just like survivors...? Pretty sure the number would contain more than one 0.

Devour hope. If it procs, it's definitely an oh poop moment.

Playing only one side even if for years will hinder growth at a basic level. Learning each side improves you as a player for the side you prefer to play. As a person who it closer to 60/40 between Console and PC who has also played for years. I will say i drastically improved by playing both sides. Pathing, Hiding Spots, Odd little auto aim abuse spots, Techs to push both killer and surv play to a better spot than the day before. They have hundreds if not thousands of guides for ideal pathing/looping/techs. Even after all the buffs to killer and perks. I still do not think killer is better side in terms of power level. I will say right now the game is more balanced than it has ever been.
Aqueous...is that you?
-
I love what the devs did with the event. I love the bag of tryks. They did a great job. What I don't like is the way killers are playing. I'm sure you think I'm lying or exaggerating, but 4ks every match. I just realized...does anything special or different happen if you escape? Do like streamer cannons go off or something? Honestly, no one escapes, so I wouldn't have seen it. :(
-
I don't play during the day. We put the kids to bed and then play starting at 9 or 10 pm. No joke, 4ks every single match. Tunneling, slugging, humping killers, who then instantly talk ######### in the end game chat. It's kinda funny at first until it's just sad.
I have been playing since 2016, and it has never been this bad. It turned to this a week ago. At first everyone was saying it's because of the sabo...what Sabo? No one is Saboing, and in the event it's not even possible anyway, yet killers are playing the same way. The game is going down hill fast. I plan on playing civilization soon. :(
-
Nemesis needs some love for sure. He needs better add ons, and his tier 1 tenticle is a joke. It should either have the same range as tier 2 or the ability to break pallets from the get go.
Instead huntress gets buffed with more hatchets, feels bad man.
-
Seeing that every match against any killer is a 4k now...I think Vecna's ability to tunnel and slug will be just fine.
-
Yeah, yeah...if you nerf killer we're gonna camp, tunnel, and slug...more.
Killers already win 60% of their games....let that sink in....

Back then it was common practice to tell Survivors to "just run Perk X" if there were any complaints.
And look where we are now. With base kit BT, a HUD to improve solo coordination and an AFC. All of which cover issues that were otherwise countered by perks.
If an issue becomes so bad, that 1 single perk becomes a necessity, then it warrants base kit changes. With Lightborn, that is not an option though, as it would completely remove the blind mechanic.
But I highly doubt it happens that often to those people who complain about it, because I doubt that I am the exception of the rule.
For Background Player it's not about how often it actually happens. It's the threat of how often it can happen and the counterplay (or in some cases the lack of which). This is similar to a Starstruck Nurse on Midwich. Was that very common? I'll say no. Was it problematic still? Definitely yes. With Background Player it's almost the same. Your 3 options to counter a flashbang are:
- Stare at a wall.
- Lightborn.
- Slugging.
The first of which being the most desirable for survivors and killers alike. However, there is currently a glitch to completely remove that form of counterplay and a survivor can make this impossible by not going down right next to a wall. So there are only 2 ways left to counter BGP + flashbangs or BGP. One of which is a perk that can still be circumvented, if the survivor goes down under a pallet.
So only the 3rd option remains as a reliable way to counter BGP + flashbangs. And it's the option that both sides probably enjoy the least. Great. I consider hardcore slugging an overlooked issue anyway but now we even have a survivor perk that encourages it on top of the already existing killer perk Knock Out (which is a problem on its own).
Stop acting like killers haven't received anything basekit over the years. Killers get bloodlust, 2 tiers of speed boost. It was given to help killer until map reworks (infinites).....yet here we still are, with primarily killer sided maps. What about mini pop? When kicking gens was introduced, it just began gen regression. Then it gave a 2.5% regression (percentage may be slightly off), and now it removes 5% every time a killer kicks a gen, basekit.
These are both quality of life changes, although one could argue that killers got the better end of this deal.

I'm fine with the current state of the actual game.
I'm not going to defy this with the word toxic...but the BM 'bad manners' I've seen from players as of late has been thru the metaphorical roof.
When I first read your comment, I was thinking "No way!" But your follow up, is spot on. I think the game is actually balanced fairly well (maybe not perfect, but pretty good job so far), it's the outliers who are ruining the game for everyone on both sides.

Those of us who have played this game forever, know that this forum didn't even exist in the beginning. We had the steam forums, at least pc players did, not sure if anyone can use it.

It's the same with Spies in Shadows, you can tell people how great and fun it is and how often your little crow spies will rat survivors out and give you literally eyes in the back of your head, theory crafting will always prevail and win the discussion. I couldn't care less, the less killers are running it, the less survivors have any inkling about what's going on.
And now that UW is moving from scream perk to aura reading, the 5 Calm Spirit users might rotate their perk out in favor of something more useful.
Spies is so under rated. Sneaky little birds

So I'm not quite at p100, but I have noticed that when people get tunneled it does seem to be the p100 or the p1. Some go for the weakest link (or so they think) and others either want the challenge or want to remove the strongest player in their opinion.
Should it be hidden in pre-game? Yes, I'd even say for both sides. I don't want my team seeing that I'm playing my p1 Haddie for a challenge and just assume I'm trash, or see my p100 (which I don't have) and assume I'm great, they can now hide all game.
And while I typically don't lobby dodge, if I get 1 or 2 p100s, cool, let's see whatcha got. If it's 3-4...yeah, I'm probably out. At least 1 of them should be pretty good. And then that messes up the mmr for that match leading to frustration for one side.
My opinion is that hiding prestige would be healthier for the game.

did you see how they masscared my girl pig in their patch notes
What does pig have to do with this game being "survivor sided"? Killers win 60%+ of their matches and you are crying that it's survivor sided.
Seriously, BHVR, take note. Killers will never be happy. 90% kill rate would still be survivor sided...

I main nemesis and Jill, and I can say on both sides the zombies are weak as far as helping with injuries/downing survivors. The only thing the zombies are good for is information (survivors general location) and getting stuck on a rock, or ya know, nothing at all. Flashlighting zombies is fun, so please leave that alone. Either an additional zombie, or better tracking skill for my friends would be appreciated though, and something to help with early game. Honestly, I'd even be happy with the tenticle breaking pallets with no mutation stacks, but still has the shorter reach. I won't even go into his sad addons, but give my man some love please!
-
I'd love to see the official kill rate and pick rate for both killers and survivors. Is baby Dwight the first one found in the locker? Does Claudette have the highest escape rate because she hides all game waiting for the hatch? I'd also like to see the killers broken down by low, mid, and high mmr.
I saw the reddit post you're talking about and take it with a grain of salt. Only a small portion of the player base even uses that site and they can cherry pick the info they want to submit. I have never used nightlight and I have close to 4k hours in the game. People were saying that last time the devs shared info that the kill rate was on average 10% higher.
-
Yeah, pretty annoying, but it's both sides too. I love when the gates are powered and the survivors won't leave. Just go. Why do I have to walk across the map for console players to teabag in the exit gate? (I'm sure PC do it too, but it's console like 90% of the time.) And then you find Claudette there aggressively teabagging as if she did anything...where did you come from? There was a Claudette in this game or was she still hiding here from the last match? XD
