The same people running around saying Spirit was unfair are the ones who also see no issue with Dead Hard, Iron Will, old DS, old object, and don't see how those are unfair and how survivors have more unfair tools at their leisure than almost any killer does.
Totally false. There are certain builds on certain killers that you can bring to guarantee 4ks by bringing a map. I’m 47-0 (all 4ks) with scratch mirror Myers on indoor maps. You can never have that level of control over the game by playing survivor. I’m 22-0 (all 4ks) with wraits all seeing silent bell build on indoor maps. I’m 30-0 with clowns invigorated all seeing build without even deciding the map. Killer has WAY more tools to dominate the game and it’s not even close. As it should be, this isn’t Feng Min’s t bagging adventures it’s dead by daylight.

Spirit was unfair for years to survivors. Now you are complaining a deserved nerf will be UNFAIR FOR THE SPIRIT before you even got to play the changed killer.
Nice try, but no.
Spot on
-
I literally cannot get games on killer anymore after SBMM update without waiting half an hour. There are more than enough killers, moot point. Not nearly enough survivors at high skill level.
-
It is not even one of the top 5 survivor perks in the game. Rarely used except at the higher skill levels. Otzdarva and others have talked about it in detail and why it isn’t really fantastic.
Literally just use your eyes, iron will doesn’t make them go invisible like spirit. They leave scratch marks and blood pools, iron will is fine the way it is. I play a hell of a lot of killer and it never bothers me.

And the queue times certainly reflect the high demand for the role......
Whether it's the hatred of basically every map in the game, from maps where every tile is LT, double LT, or cabin, or maps where there's probably actually 40+ windows, or maps where every gen is totally safe and inside a house, 2nd floor or basement... i.e. MAPS that just feel like an auto-loss...
Or games that are going fine, struggle on both sides, then BAM, all of a sudden everyone escapes. Guess they had a key, maybe even found it in a chest...
And god forbid simply going against good Survivors, rather than Survivors that run into you all game because they don't know what a terror radius is... And feeling the sheer helplessness of an actual 4v1 video game...
It's just not fun anymore...
And don't say something like, "Take a break," or, "Then play something else."
These types of responses don't properly bring attention to the game's legitimate issues. Because like I said, the fact that Killer queues are instant 24 hours a day really speaks volumes. In a game where you need 4 times as many Survivors, but there are always enough to instantly fill a lobby...
Please just... stop... being dumb with this game...
Not sure where you live but for most of the day survivor queues are shorter than killer queues for me. They switch around 10:00 PM EST when it takes much longer to find a survivor match. From 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM ish survivor queue is almost instant so your point is invalid.
Also, you’re not the only only playing killer my guy. Devs generally balance this game based on the average number of escapes per killer per map and id say the game is in a healthier place now than it was for many years. Watch people like Otz, there’s a reason he can get a 20 streak anytime with multiple killers easily. Fix your fundamentals and try again, I’m a survivor main but I find killer to generally be a much more relaxing and easy experience than red rank solo queue survivor.

You probably need to do better chases if you feel survivor is really hard to pip. Biggest issue is killer requires so much knowledge compared to survivor
Doing better chases will not help you pip this is a totally ignorant comment. If you want to pip as a red rank survivor you have to hog the unhooks and get plenty of heals and gens. If you mostly just run the killer you’ll probably even depip.

I disagree on the killers having more power to be toxic, it's def a 50/50 with flash lights, flash bangs, flash mines. those hurt man, and stun just as well as any pallet
So clicking a flashlight that does literally nothing to the killer if they look away and allows the killer to continue to perform every action in the game is more toxic than the killer camping which literally prevents the survivor from partaking in any game action at all? Try again.
-
I love this change, it's very healthy for the game. I have always had great ping in my 3 years of playing and just took hitting survivors through pallets for granted and used to get at least 3 downs a game like that. Not anymore. For the people saying it affects killer more, so? I still got a 4K in 7/9 of the games I played yesterday at Rank 3 killer with Wraith and Clown. If you need a broken mechanic to have fun at this game you are the problem not the devs.
On the flip side killer still has heavy priority at window vaults and pallet vaults so feel free to abuse those. I sure do.

Lmao facts right here

Love it, finally fixed pallet glitches and nerfed one of the most braindead killers to play in the game. Love new lucky break, 45s makes the perk very fair and fun. New object is great too enjoying looping with it. Love the iri hatchet nerf and all the quality of life changes, great update overall 👍🏼

Killer:
Unfortunate Exposition
Rage consumes you as your obsession eludes you in chase. The entity grows impatient and grants you a gift. The auras of all survivors who are not running are revealed to you for 60/75/90 seconds when you are stunned by the obsession (pallet, blind, firecracker, DS). Unfortunate exposition deactivates for the remainder of the trial once the duration is complete.
Survivor:
Mirage
You have an uncanny ability to misrepresent situations to your advantage. Use the activate ability button on a generator to apply the following effects:
The generator will appear and sound to survivors as if it is almost completed unless they are within 4 m of the generator. (Would motivate team mates to come towards the gen to finish, often creating fun instances of bamboozling your own team. )
The generator will appear to have no progress to the killer and all audible notifications of generator progress will be muted unless they are within 6 m of the generator.
Mirage lasts for 40/50/60 seconds and has a cool down of 120/110/100 seconds.

Well, not exactly flashlights.
After going against an all rank 1 4man with three flashlights (two purple, one event exclusive), a purple toolbox, and two Twitch streamers, who gave me a lot of insight on the current state of the game, I've learned some very important things about flashlights.
- If the survivor really wants to, there is nothing the killer can do to not get blinded during the pickup animation. Break animation can potentially be negotiated, but is absolutely not worth it.
- It is impossible to tell which way you're looking while blinded.
- The blind effect persists long enough for a survivor to be picked up from off the ground, so that you see the animation finish just as you can see again.
- You can be blinded by a survivor who isn't even onscreen.
- If you have a purple toolbox with the right add-ons and build, you can sabotage like, three hooks before the killer can even carry a survivor to one.
- Not completing the final generator, and instead 99ing all three remaining, is considerably more effective than 99ing the exit gates if you know what you're doing.
- Clown is physically incapable of pushing Feng out of the way, as her stance is too strong, even with her lungs full of bleach and chloroform, to be altered by a professional athlete/ serial murderer with a significant weight advantage.
- If the survivors are coordinated enough (read, in a group of more than one), there is literally nothing you can do to stop them from escaping right in front of you, regardless of what killer you're playing as.
- Evidently 4man SWF is such a stressful, difficult experience that, even against a rank 11, you really have to earn every single victory, and should be congratulated for the monumental amount of effort you put in.
But you probably already knew all of that.
I'm not very happy right now, if you couldn't tell. As in, "almost agreeing with a Lord Tony post" unhappy.
Sorry for wasting your time, fellow forum members. I just needed to vent a bit. Carry on with your business as usual.
Ah the rank 11 struggle. Keep keeping at it if you enjoy the game, I rarely play killer so I’m normally green / purple but it’s normally fairly easy at that rank if you know what you’re doing. No, a 4 man SWF does not guarantee a 4 man escape, not even close, that’s some salty killer propaganda lol.
-
Some people have such toxic comments here wow, it’s entirely true that the difference between a legacy Xbox one / PS4 vs PC with an i9 and GTX 3080 is night and day lol let’s be real guys there’s a BIG competitive advantage to playing at 20-30 FPS vs 120++
Most of the problem would be solved if they just let console users play on mouse and keyboard, I know this is up to BHVR on Xbox. On next gen this would essentially solve the issue entirely.

@Axe said:
BHVR would refuse to do anything like this as it would help and encourage blood point farming.

You can't Mori off first hook anymore it requires 2 hooks now. They were nerfed again ages again which is why Keys are getting axed next.
Just wanted to make you aware.
Rest of your point is fair. Way I see it, you should be removing people form the game before the gates are powered anyway. And you have options to go after the unhooker. The power of DS is an edge case in a game where 2/3rds of the playerbase plays like potatoes that most of us can walk all over without any issue... so I don't know why people are bringing up these edge cases.

Always love it when perks like ds or bt is complained about people jump to "wow must all be just killer mains". Shush with the generalization. For instance do i find bt or ds bs at the end game since the killer can't do anything to prevent the survivor from pretty much escaping unless they have like a instadown? Of course.

Go ahead call me a killer main i have 6k hours and im a 50/50 player. At the end game survivors can have adrenaline, unbreakable,bt,ds, dead hard. Or others to basically guarantee a escape. Survivors have always had so many outs. This is the only game where i can literally destroy a whole team but still not get my max points because survivors get hatch. Then when you close hatch they get doors. Maybe the devs should crack down on it a bit?

- Its a 4v1 game the odds of the 1 defeating all 4 players consistently should be very low or the game is unbalanced in the first place. Almost nobody runs DS anymore anyway. If this game allowed killers to consistently 4K just for playing well the player base would be dead. Same goes for survivors, there are plenty of games I play perfect and totally outclass the killer but I die on first hook after some salty little boy decides to stand in front of the hook all game. I play mostly solo survivor, what’s the counter to that? You are NOT entitled to a win for outplaying the other side, no side in this game is.
- If someone has DS at exit gate remaining 9/10 times it’s some killer who couldn’t get a single kill and is now tunnelling the ######### out of the guy who got unhooked at end game for 1 kill. News flash, the DS isn’t why you lost the game.
- Whats the counter to insta mory myers? What was the counter to mory off first hook? What’s the counter to Freddie’s lunge hitting you when his claws are 2 ft away from your body? Nothing, no game can have a perfect counter for everything.
-
@Canas said:
There's literally nothing you can do as a killer except watch a survivor crawl through the exit-gate as long as they have this perk. If you attempt to pick them up you will only eat the stun along with the added humilation. This cannot be allowed to continue, the perk should deactivate once a survivor enters the exit gate area.
Look at this and tell me this is fair. This is the equivalent of rubbing salt into the wound, there's absolutely no way to win at that point anymore.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/486CNQAK3URN/no-counterplay.png
There are literally multiple perks to increase the time required to open exit gates / block exit gates but sure there’s no counter play. Nice try.

I still don't understand how the Devs are ignoring Spirit hard and acting like Freddy is the only killer who "performs too well" while also being easy to use.
They mentioned that Freddy on average kills 3/4 survivors so I’m betting spirit on average kills less but is probably right up there too. Spirit actually takes time and skill to learn properly but any noob can jump on Freddie and get easy 4ks, that’s exactly what I did when I was a noob lol. Since they didn’t touch keys either I’m guessing spirit is next along with keys to appease both sides haha.

That the thing bhrv is not good for emergency patch or fix they take too much time for everything. Right now the pallet bug is a pain for survivor but survivor find more key in chest now so most of my game survivor escape by the hatch because of that i stop playing killer again i prefer to face the pallet bug then the key
This tells me you barely play survivor. You’re upset about a mechanic that is obviously a get out of jail free card for survivors that they use knowing they can’t beat you normally? If you got hooks and blood points and killed 2 and 2 got hatch together in the end that really makes you quit killer and rather play survivor with broken pallets that make unsafe pallets totally useless? Y’all really out here crying about keys when I see a key escape as killer I’m like lol I was too much for ya. Keep blowing your blood vessels for the 4K lol 4K vs 3k is life or death!

Rank plays a large role in this.
I won't assume your rank, but I am speaking strictly for upper Purple/Red ranks where waiting for a Killer in the evening is a 10 min minimum wait.
Daytime survivor is easier to find a match because there are less survivors playing (working, errands, etc.) So it will throw a group together faster. This is true across all ranks.
Rank 1 for years, probably an issue on your server. I’m guessing you play with cross play off?

I find it simpler to be direct. I will Herd, Camp, Tunnel, Slug, and Mori whenever a particular match calls for it. If the Survivors are setting themselves up for a 3-Gen, or I can nudge them into one, I let it (or make it) happen. I consider these things tactics, nothing more and nothing less. More to the point, they are niche tactics that will hurt the Killer if done wrong, but can pay dividends if done right. I make no pretentions about how I play; I never have.
The sick, sad world truth is that it doesn't matter what a Killer does. Bad sports are going to be salty and serve up bile. I've been accused of doing all sorts of things, and more often than not I wasn't even doing them. The worst part about it all is that Survivors are responsible for about 90% of Tunneling themselves. They don't make safe rescues, they farm, they don't bring Borrowed Time, they unhook with the person they are saving between themselves and the Killer, and they vanish like Ninja the second they unhook. If they aren't there to take a protection hit or a hook for the person they rescue, I wonder why they bothered in the first place.
It isn't the Killer's gig to do their job for them. You are not beholden to look away and ignore the prey in front of you. That nonsense is straight out of the Survivor's Handbook for Killers. You are also not responsible for any other Player's fun. They bring that themselves, or not. They either enjoy they game or they don't. You don't have time to worry about that. You have enough to do in the match. Just play the game; play it hard. Kill them all and let the Entity sort them out.
strong small peepee energy with this one, talk about taking yourself and a game way too seriously lmfao

As a solo survivor. It doesn't matter how many shots you give this game. It doesn't matter how many breaks or philoshopies you adopt to try to see things differently. Once you hit red ranks as a solo survivor, this game becomes unplayable. You either consistently have a squad to play with you or just gotta uninstall.
Balance doesn't exist, and unless the killer is very unexperienced and you happen to get the occasional green/yellow/brown rank, you have to get ready to just sit back and watch 3 randoms crouching in a corner while nothing gets done and everyone eventually dies.
Conclusion, play survive with friends or don't play at all.
Solo que is definitely the toughest way to play this game. Play with some decent friends if you feel like continuing the game. I used to share your sentiment until I got to a point where regardless of what my other team mates do, even if they do nothing I still have good long chases every game and that’s honestly why I play. I don’t really care about escaping these days.

you could have got a survivor to heal you, went to a different spot on the map to heal, or at the least you could have went to a different generator then the one you were on that the killer will obviously check.
Like i don't know about you guys but if i see a recently unhooked and injured survivor performing an interaction that would deactivate DS besides healing since i find that one BS i will gladly go after them and hook them.
I am SO fed up with how DS has been used over the years especially when it is used to do generators that i seriously don't care how much any survivor finds it BS when i will do this.
For all you cocky survivors that will inevitably do this you have been warned.

I mean to begin with we were able to a couple of months ago when Ruin + Undying was meta that actually allowed even the weaker killers to "Pressure Gens" but for some reason despite that being what survivors tell you to do they cried to have it nerfed (and it did)
let's be honest guys 3-4 minute matches are not fun and I can't see why they would be fun for anyone. No one wins, no one pips, the scores are insanely low (13k at best) and it just creates a really unfun experience. Killer being forced to tunnel camp which once again no one likes and theres just no gameplay to it you are better off as survivor just playing a cookie clicker or something as it's practically the exact same thing.
Remember when the devs spoke of that "Early Game Collapse" or something along those lines notice how theres been literally no mention of it for the past year? Early game can be really bad for killer we all know this. Taking time to set up, map size could be way too big so you travel to literally every gen and suddenly a gen pops.
Honestly ive said this before and ill say it again lets just take a breather on the whole "Nerf X Killer, Nerf X Killer thing" because lets face it guys if you know and understand this game no killer is OP right now they can barely compete in tournaments and the highest level.
I'd like to point out also that because of how quick and easy gen speed is that is why you personally are getting matched with so many boosted survivors who do not belong in Red ranks period. If you want what's best for the game and you want better teammates more has to be done to gens as they are just way too easy to finish over what the killer has to do. How can a killer get 12 hooks in 3-4 minutes?
It sounds like you’re trying to say you need hex plus undying to have a match longer than 3-4 mins. This is just simply not true and if that’s where your skill level is at against non potato survivors, you just need to get better. There are amazing survivors on this game but the vast majority of even red ranks are basically potatoes compared to a true skilled player who can actually hold a killer for a full generator or 2 consistently at the start of the game. I play A LOT of solo que and that is hands down the most difficult way to play this game, you have very little control over whether you get out because your team mates might all be crouching around self caring. As either a killer or survivor, you are not entitled to a win. 4 good survivors should absolutely have a higher chance of winning against an equally skilled killer, simply because you need 5 people to play and 4 are survivors. Make this game too difficult for solo survivor and the game will die very quickly, which BVHR understands well.

This game is so fun .-.
Sorry dude but I doubt Spirit will fix much for you if you’re having that much trouble. I play with a group that averages 100 days of playtime so I think I can give you some insight here. What killer you choose can give you a better shot of winning, there are tons of red rank potatoes that will fall for simple spirit mind games all the time. A lot of people here mentioned rank, I don’t think rank matters at all. In fact, I’ll usually find in “red rank only” squads that 3/4 of them are FAR from the survivor skill cap at this game. But there are gods on this community who will still run you round and round even as a fairly skilled spirit. This year I’ve been rank 15, rank 1 and everywhere in between, it just depends on how much I’m playing. Like others have mentioned, if you want to win more then get better at the fundamentals.

Well I once played against those innocent survivors who's been SWF, I was so proud of myself, I managed to caught two survivors in the basement, for some reason one of them yeeted in the basement to do a bold rescue on them, I proc'd BTs and downed the third one who took their place, then the next two came injured and I downed one of them while the other rescued,
I downed the rescuer and proc'd BT and managed an hatchet throw while that time to injure the last one.
Then, the OUTPLAY came, yeah any decent killer main would have done this mistake, thinking already enough time passed, I picked the first one, Got DS, then the second one because I'm a big dum the DS came and by the time they picked up the downed one.
What would have been a 4k became a 0 because of a single perk, and yes maybe I had a blame because I didn't slugged them because I feel bad for it, well no longer now.
DS can be abused in many scenarios and need to be addressed.
Two or more DS in a row is not okay, you cant tunnel two survivor at a time.
Yeah no, this literally tells me that you straight up face camped in the basement the whole game and then got salty when they outplayed you and DS’d you. You deserved to get DS’d 100%.

A very easy example is the NOED bad DS bad threads, but the truth is the game would be even more unfun without them.
If NOED didn't exist survivors would have no incentive do dull bones = quicker games, there's no reason for me to hold m1 for 14s on something that has 0 effect for me and my teammates in the match.
If DS didn't exist killers would just tunnel the injured survivor off the hook, because why would I hit someone 2 times and apply significantly less pressure off someone in their 1st rather than 2nd hook state.
I encourage everyone here to play both sides and get to red ranks, it'll give you an insight on the POV of some people you discuss on the daily with, and make you avoid making threads that would seem like bait at first glance.
I see you are a man of culture

Or I can save my precious time and DC cause I'm not having fun with what I'm playing against.
Just curious, what rank killer are you? And what’s your playtime?
