  • It's been happening for a while now, I wonder what could be causing it for the servers to do that?

  • Y'all are trying really your hardest to try and cancel BHVR here lmao, we all can agree that DBD has it's bug/glitch infestations but do you honestly believe they're even going to read most of these responses? They won't my friends and sharing a few perceptions on how racism is that inherently bad is something we can also all agree on, if you've ever been to any satirical website such as 4chan, kiwi farms or any other platform that has the most notorious people known for being racist, offensive, demeaning or possessing any kind of malevolent intention with how they speak; what will you do by then? How can we actually stop people from partaking in such offensive stances on the internet if you can't escape from it at all? The only thing we can do is set guidelines such as how this forum has them, any community platform can have rules but that doesn't stop others from trolling altogether, so the ultimate question still resides.

What can you actually do against trolls when it comes to partaking in any online community? Because whining and complaining so much about how offensive, intrepid and demeaning someone can be doesn't do much to resolve the issue; all we're doing is just bickering with one another.

EDIT: No need to give that many amounts of replies, I'm sure everyone is entitled to their own opinion; the only thing we can do is hope something happens for the rest who have shared their thoughts.

"You're just giving those people what they want."

Like a gameplay experience with a little less racism? That's probably the intention

The thing with 'racism' is that you're not standing up against it if you're just talking or being argumentative about it on the internet, why not actually try to do something in the real world? I don't see how some virtual world has to be that offensive in a game when all you could ever do is look away from the screen and go touch some grass, It's funny seeing people be an SJW about everything when all they can do is complain and whine about it on the internet instead of taking action.

Words and depictions in any media shouldn't even affect your perspective into getting triggered, you can tell me how "based" or "red-pilled" I am, but at the end of the day what have you actually accomplished when you're on that computer?

  • Damn everyone, imagine getting so angry over watching 4 people escape or not being able to escape at all and then everything seems like you just gotta question your life's existence and the reason why we go on with living. All because of a videogame, I've seen people try to be as passionate with this game making a few fair points with their criticism to bring some change, keep some balance and other qualities of the game to try and get the developers to incorporate said ideas. Sadly it just never seems to happen with every criticism they get.

Your words could be just as meaningless to everyone in this forum, I wouldn't be digging right into people's skins to try and find some answers just because you hide the meaning with your feelings with these thoughts you may be having as you question the people in here. The minute you put meaning into words you read in a monitor is only because you want them to affect you. That being said even if you're not making a huge difference to the whole world, you can change what you want about yourself to making things slightly better.

Start by changing your perception in life, because even if when there's nothing positive or negative going around you, you'll just be stuck in the same loop doing the same thing getting bored and tired of it. Things just don't change by themselves, you make that change happen if you just try hard enough to force yourself to change. Waiting for things to happen for yourself is just not the way to go.

That being said; I'm honestly not sure how long this thread will be up as it rarely brings any contribution on the game itself and it's more about emotional rambling, you should probably go get some therapy as this isn't the place to go on about it. It'd probably be more appropriate to move this to off-topic instead.

  • Damn I mean it's not that deep if you don't want it to be, I mean I don't know about you but if I had the initial idea of pitching an online game like this I wouldn't want it to die right away. I'd get some criticism from the people and what they want and try to incorporate some of those ideas, since some people aren't really the brightest, I wouldn't consider every one of them. Honestly though, with the amount of glitches/bugs that keep popping up for each update of the game it doesn't make it look any better even those for who are resident evil fans which also happen to be newcomers.

Oh yeah let's also not forget that this game is a product, that seal of quality should mean something when consumers are deciding to buy this game and it's content. Which is why we're here criticizing, not complaining about how unfair the game is because of how we lost a match.

  • It's been a long while since I posted here on the forums, but if we get a certain amount of replies on this thread you'll probably just get the eyes of the forum mods. But that'll be just it, with the way things are looking so far it's not good but it does make a valid point on the resident evil fans who happen to be newcomers see how this game is being handled. I was playing matches as SWF and they themselves thought that the game would most likely die due to the lack of supports from the developers. The only thing we can do is vote with our wallets because I highly doubt the developers would consider making the amount of changes you just posted for this thread. I mean looking at the player base statistics for the game as shown on this thread; those look like good numbers. But that's the gist of it all, is it not? It's most likely they're only paying attention to the amount of players that play the game and see it all just by numbers. I don't entirely hate the game either and I hope it gets better and fair for everyone. Sure the game can get frustrating at times to play when having bad performance in matches but that's an entirely different story as there are many strategies to escape as survivor, what perks to use and many more. The bugs are pretty much known by any DBD veteran whose been playing for some time, therefore bugs and glitches are inexcusable for this game since DBD has a history for having those.

So I'm one to agree that although we can be vocal about various issues the game has, let's all vote with our wallets and not just spend right away when new cosmetics appear in the shop. But remember that's up to the you if you feel like it's worth getting, cosmetics while they may be a fancy thing to have don't enhance your ability to perform better since that's up to the player. At first I thought this was gonna be a huge killer sided rant but it's not as it tackles many issues of the game at hand.

  • Jane, feng, zarina and cheryl of course. I'll leave it up to y'all to figure out why Jane is first, giggity.

  • I'm not sure if this counts as necro bumping the thread but it looks like people already did that anyway, I'm pretty sure it's stated on the game rules that delaying the game on purpose can be a bannable offense, a couple of friends I know usually try to hide somewhere to die and bleed out while at the same time delaying the match just because the game wasn't how we wanted it to go. However even after looking at the playerbase according to steam charts; not counting console players, I don't think they'd ban that many players for doing this since they don't want to lose players. But hey now that the resident evil chapter is coming soon we'll see those numbers change.

  • Considering that smash bros has more gamemodes than this game has, they both can't be compared with one another other than the fact that there's crossovers characters like mentioned above such as Freddy and Ghostface. I like DBD it can be fun not gonna lie but sometimes it can get boring at times, new gamemodes would help fix that issue to give players more things to enjoy.

  • Something tells me the DLC might cost the same as the Stranger Things chapter, either that or it might cost even more since this IS capcom being involved.

  • Freddy is a low effort killer even as of now, he's just there to use if you want to complete a challenge or you can just play him to get a guaranteed win. That's how easy it is to win as freddy, it's really annoying to play against freddy since he can teleport from generator to generator. if anything Freddy needs to be nerfed with his fake pallets and teleportation, there's only been times when I've been lucky and won against freddy like about 5 times or so.

  • I remember this game series, sad that the game didn't continue further. Also the hex for this killer would be somewhat tricky and slightly OP but I guess if the survivors do each totem I guess it would help.

I wasn't talking about his power. I never even mentioned his power.

I'm talking about how everyone is throwing a hissy fit over the design of the killer because he doesn't fit in, which again, I do not like that much, But Mr. Puddles, Robbie the Rabbit, Bunny Feng, the Bull Onesie for Deathslinger, all the Christmas skins, especially the ones that Dwight wears, the Legion's neon and Day of the Dead skins, the Krampus skin, the Minotaur do.

The whining about what he looks like is ridiculous.

There's another argument to this take though, even though you can make legion wear bunny suits, clown wearing the elephan suit and more for other survivors and killers is that those are not default clothes given to the players, those are just optional cosmetics people can get.

  • Yeah and you're a bit of an asshoIe for just wanting to insult for no reason at all, when did I say he's gay to begin with? Literally blowing it out of proportion dude, go believe in your truth when all you want is a lie. I never even said I hated the killer, just looks out of place is all.

  • Ok I'm not sure why my replies got 2 duplicates, it lagged from my end that one time and it timed me out from the forums for a while so I'm guessing it might just be me or there's alot of traffic going on right now.

Nothing was confirmed to do with his sexuality though????

I know that, I've been seeing people call others out for being "homophobic" though. There has been some slurs thrown around but those are the real homophobes, otherwise the people who are just heavily criticizing this chapter as a whole are also being piled on and called homophobes as well. I'm not taking sides here to be fair, I'm only stating that people who say things like "this really doesn't fit DBD" are being called out to be homophobic which can be so silly and ridiculous.

  • Not sure if anything is confirmed, my guess is that the killer could be gay or trans, I'm not entirely sure. Some people even stated that the survivor could be trans as well, I don't know for sure.

  • Yeah better not to criticize or say anything otherwise you're gonna be called out as a "homophobe" by anyone as of now.

lol its outstanding how much effort they put into lore right? It feels like 10% at most care about it. Im not one of it, DbD Lore is boring af

Yeah some of the lore seems somewhat rushed, but not the case for everyone if you check their character info when selecting them. A good example of this would be Claudette no story for her at all since I guess it's because she's one of the basic starter characters. Either way it seems rather lacking.

  • image.png

Finished this whole level for the tome 😎

  • Yeah I even had trouble doing this challenge as well, the most tedious one so far has to be the totems one too.

  • The drama and the controversy that people keep trying to stir up in this community is getting annoying at this point, stop remaking posts and try to be original at some point. Why is it that the mods allow this anyway? If you want to talk about this same subject simply reply to the original thread that started all of it, not make a whole post again. It seems like people just want to farm forum badges, while getting people into the same mentality which makes them remake a post on the whole LGBTQ situation and people's thoughts on it. They should really close threads like these, it's getting really annoying seeing the same subject pop up from time to time. Some argue "well LGBTQ representation wouldn't do the game justice because they're not looking at game balancing, just more content to the game" I get that argument but seriously y'all, why does this topic have to be kept going and going, we're not continuing progress we're just stuck in a loop at this point.

  • Some people have the argument that it doesn't really fix the game's issues such as balancing perks, what needs to be nerfed or buffed which I can understand, and they get called homophobes because of it, they just want the game to be fair and not make overpowered perks or killer abilities. It's great that there's gonna be a LGBT friendly character in the game but what also needs to be looked at is bug fixes, which there are bugfix patches they release here on the forums for everyone to read what's been changed. Personally I have no issue with it, so it's like yay another survivor and possibly a killer too, more content makes the game new and different.

  • I was just playing as Pig right now and one of them managed to escape with a bear trap on them, idk ######### is even going on with this game anymore.

  • Another overwhelming drama post in order to fuel some fire, yep time to get the popcorn. Also who cares if the characters they add are gay or not? What I noticed for the homophobic slurs, I've seen a few gay people use it against each other so it's more about gay people taking ownership of such slurs; same thing can be said about a certain race of people claiming ownership over racist words. We can talk so much about how it's an issue in society so much but will it really stop anyone from saying what they want? Can't because of freedom of speech. Nothing more and nothing less, whenever someone brings up issues like these it seems to be an endless loop of always the same issues. There's always gonna be toxicity on that side for each community, let's not forget that people, but it doesn't mean we gotta turn a blind eye to it. Seeing toxicity in the end game chat of a match does get annoying, which is why they're adding a censor chat option to the game. I already lost count on how many posts like these are made.

This too, translating the hashtag says "#Fighting" however this could be wrong since google translate is known for being bad.

  • I think this might just be only a survivor or both a killer and survivor, either way my guess is that the survivor might be LGTB inclusive which was brought up in one of their streams.

  • Don't bother doing the nurse's challenge if you barely play her, it'll get frustating as #########, just don't ######### do it.

  • I actually wouldn't mind a fnaf chapter, I know most of the fandom can be quite cringy but I have nothing against the actual games either. Either way it kinda looks like they might be going for maybe some kind of crazy hacker killer or whatever it is.

Depends on what they change, I dont think hes OP just insanely easy

Easy as in playing as him or easy to go against? I'm not sure if that's true though, I don't really know that many people that have gotten against freddy and managed to escape, I only happened to escape about like just about 3 or 5 times but that's about it.

What do you want people to do? Run in a panic into a wall. You get desensitised to any horror media after playing or watching it for some time.

That's usually what happens if you're a fan of horror, you watch so much of it that it starts getting cliche and realize all there is in horror movies/tv shows they end up having screamers everywhere. The only time I've actually been scared is if I stop watching or playing anything horror related and go back to it after a month or so. I'm pretty sure anyone would realize that horror seems to be dying if they keep using the same ideas, I mean I still appreciate the dark ambience, atmosphere and all that but looking for horror in a multiplayer game seems to be impossible now a days.

I believe what's needed in a game that's horror is one that isn't online multiplayer to begin with, I could be wrong though as I'm sure there are other games out there that's a horror PvE game but can still have online gameplay.

Fans of the horror genre just won't easily find things scary where as newcomers can still find it scary and do it for thrills.

  • LOL what the, is this even allowed?

  • You can literally use a macro for this, I've been doing it ever since and haven't been banned yet. I don't think it counts as cheating to use macros for wiggling out of a killer's grasp or struggling during the second hook struggle.

  • Imagine this, going outside for a bit just to go buy groceries, you see someone outside of your house who happens to be female who is out and about jogging, if you see their chest wiggling around would you get scared and go back inside the house? No, that's just some narrow minded bias, it's just a normal thing to see. If people focus on boob physics so much while being turned on by it, that's where the perversion is, not the fact that boob physics are present in the game.

  • It's even worse with the way the monthly rank reset made me derank as well, ######### is BHVR doing? If they heard us "loud and clear" at least what they could've done is to disable the monthly rank reset to avoid further deranking.

  • Custom icons are gone during gameplay, they work when setting up perks, items and add-ons though. Either that or they're somewhere in the game files.

  • Let's be fair though, the jiggle physics for Jane differs from Kate, what should be fixed is Jane's cheeks physics. Giggity.

How easy it is to play AS freddy or against him?

  • Kinda ironic freddy's gameplay difficulty is set to "Hard" when he's so easy to use.

Communication with the community and apparently with their own devs. A lot of problems can be attributed to that. I say they also have trouble communicating with their devs is because of the whole color blind mode fiasco. So not only do they mostly ignore the community, they apparently also have trouble communicating with their own developer teams.

I swear it sucks so much to know that dbd could be a massive game and so much better, but not with the way BHVR continues to handle things. It just doesn't make sense, why are they not fixing a game that could give them more revenue (money) and a better reputation.

So I couldn't bare to notice that your post was edited by one of the forum mods, it happened to me before too with the same moderator. Must be hitting a nerve there I guess. Care to edit your post to see what it said? It seems risky I know, I've done it before anyway and they didn't care enough to bother editing my post again. It seems like most staff can't really take criticism tbh.

  • I participated on the survey but with how devs handle feedback most of the time, we'll just have to see and wait on what does end up happening with the game, I know there's gonna be changes with the ranking system soon though. I did like the questions about the merchandise, such as what they could do more with what icons should be put on shirts, hoodies and all sorts of goodies. With the amount of votes they catch up on what's mostly being voted on maybe they could make it happen.

  • They made it seem like it's a discord call with the character portraits being on the top left corner of the screen. I agree completely with being able to adjust where the HUD goes, character portraits or not they would still look good as they currently are on the bottom left corner of the screen. It's neat they made it so you can adjust how big or small the HUD is, so it shouldn't be a problem for them to make a few alterations by allowing us to fully adjust where what goes.

  • I've seen stuff like this constantly happen, with the new update coming along giving a certain amount bloodpoints to certain ranks this will turn people to be even more toxic as ever. The only satisfaction that gives me as killer is if survivors can't back up their teabagging and they end up failing and dying at the hands of Legion or Ghost face. I'm sure people find it funny when teabaggers get killed and they end up getting stomped on right after not backing up their teabags.

    https://imgur.com/O7NzzFY

Apparently in the latest QnA stream, the game does keep track of the amount of teabags there is per match, saw an image of the stats in that same stream. So hopefully the devs are probably gonna add a cooldown for people who wish to teabag, my suggestion would be to make the crouching similar to that of The Pig's however this might not work out for people who crouch for the longest of time when sneaking around playing stealthy.

  • It looks cool, but what they should do is at least make it so we can keep the old one and maybe adjust it so it can be in the corner; but with survivor portraits still available. Either way it's just an UI thing, shouldn't be as problematic that it gets in the way of normal gameplay.

  • There are some friendly killers out there who farm with survivors to get bloodpoints, could be against the game's ToS but people still do it. Therefore, when it comes to matches like those it's equal sided since both parties are messing around the match just to farm bloodpoints and finishing challenges faster as they do so. What needs to be fixed next is the hit range for killers like The Pig, you're a few 3 feet apart from her and she can actually land a hit, could be just a hit validation type of thing either that or must be a strange hitbox from some survivors, not entirely sure since I'm not a developer. I've heard from different sides on how this game can either be "in favor of the killer/survivor" which can be truthful to some degree, some maps are just badly designed; hooks being real close to one another while there's a possibility of survivors getting gen locked.

Furthermore, some maps are pretty balanced and new players just need to adjust and remember the map layout knowing where to go and what not to do like avoiding deadzones.

  • @Voriis said:

    Then dont play?

That's not adding any input buddy, as players we're customers at the same time. We can criticize as much as we want but ultimately it's the developers decision on what they want to implement. Sure you can go ahead and vote with your wallet since they could be just keeping count of the amount of money they're getting, but not all of the staff would be like this. As for the gaming feeling free2play I also had this in mind the very first time I played, I wondered how this felt like a mobile game that you could play for an hour or two and then move on to a different game or do what you have to.

    https://imgur.com/J7DOx8F

Going by the playerbase, they probably could add other fun gamemodes such as "kill with your friends" but they can't due to the amount of players the playerbase has for this game at the moment, but that's my theory. I have used other graphs before but the peak players this game tends to have now is about 54k players. From march all the way to july of 2020 there seemed to be a gain in players but that was most likely due to new DLC and cosmetics. These are steam charts btw, this may not be including console players in this graph.

  • @StibbityStabbity said:

    Yep.

But people will defend all of this like the game is just fine. They'll call you bad, tell you to play another game, ANYTHING as long as they don't admit the game has serious flaws.

Also, don't get me wrong, I think camping and tunneling have legitimate uses. If it's late game and you don't have a kill yet, I totally expect the Killer to tunnel and camp someone out for much needed pressure. I get that. That doesn't excuse doing it from the start of the match, though.

Imagine being told to play another game if you criticize a different game they'll tell you the same thing, it's like.. what? Like how are we supposed to make any sense of that if a game's different dev team tell you that. Imagine saying that to the players as well, devs are admitting that they won't fix it because they're lazy or they can't find ways to put a potential fix.

    "Just play another game"

Me: "Okay I will", 1 hour later of playing a different game and you say something like "hey guys you might have to look at this bug."

Them: "No it's fine it way it is, if you're gonna complain play a different game!"

You're pretty much admitting defeat right there if as a developer you're not giving the chance to try and fix things, sure they take some time but they should go out their way to actually consider feedback and not nitpick a few questions like they did with the QnA.

As for the facecamping that's one of the most annoying tactics, it might be funny for you as a killer to try it out, but not for the rest of the survivors, if anything they should make an invisible wall like 3 feet apart or something on the survivor that's hooked so they can't just farm them. Not one of my perfect ideas but there could be something better.

  • Legion with their add-on that keeps the terror radius all over the map, sound gets annoying quickly and you have to constantly keep checking if you're being chased or not. Also I'm gonna have to agree with deathslinger, me and a couple of friends on a discord server we call him the cockslinger because of how annoying he is to play against. Ghostface is rather problematic too, he should be somewhat nerfed, if you're trying to reveal him there's always an indicator for him on where the direction you're at in order to reveal him. Not gonna bother talking about freddy since he's just an actual nightmare to play against, way too overpowered so we'll see how his nerf will come out to be.

  • Susie is a favorite because I picture her as someone who is still happy and jolly while being a killer, which gives creepy vibes. Would be nice to have alternate outfits with their faces being partially shown though.
