Let's look at it this way, most of the time if you're a low rank killer or not there's a high possibility you could get high ranking survivors. The rank system can be so broken at times it'll match you with an unfair set of players which will most likely dunk on you. The same can be said for survivors, last time I was playing rank 7 or so it kept giving me red ranked killers, I'm not sure if that's fair balancing or not or the system is meant to pair you up with any singular digit available whether it's red rank or not. That's why there's people who have no choice but to try hard and keep their pips and protect their rank, we have no choice because we're not sure if we might end up with sweaty red rank players. So might as well sweat back and play the game if it has to be that way.
I was only Rank 9 at the time and I had red ranks available already, sure I killed both of them and one of them disconnected. It was most likely that they were all in a party together, I'm guessing that's what tends to happen when you have a group of friends teaming up to carry their friends. Not sure what happened during this match, either the survivor and I were far apart or I just left them alone so they can escape. Sometimes as a killer we just choose to let them go if we're satisfied with what we've got, another possible scenario was that they probably delayed the match so much and also managed to get away.
Had two red ranks in this match, I'm not complaining though because we all won and the killer disconnected. They probably had something come up and got busy to disconnect from the match. Either that or they ragequit, it can happen to all of us. It may still be somewhat unfair for the killer though, although I can be wrong because if you're already at rank 9 trying to reach rank 5 or higher then it might be set so you go against or with red ranks. You're pretty much being tested up to that point if you really want to keep your ranks when facing against the sweaty competition.
I had a friend experience this, I'm not gonna put that much commentary into this because this is downright unfair right here, imagine being rank 12 going against red ranks already. You all might be saying something like "it might not be a rank system per say but it's just the game having no choice because of the playerbase." That might be true to an extent, but either way that really needs to be worked on.

How many times will there be threads talking about the same subject? It's what keeps the subject from dying, some "problematic responses" which leads to people getting trigger happy and calling them a "homophobe" for stating something they didn't intend to imply. How about we focus more on glitches, bugs and technical issues for the game instead? Yes I know, people want to be represented in videogames with what sexual preference they go by, I understand that I just don't see why it's something to keep going on about until it becomes redundant. They don't have to appeal to a specific individual's looks and characteristics, coincidences can happen with real people and fictional characters, but when that happens we know it's either an inspiration for them to make it into the game or most likely a high coincidence.
I'm not transphobic either, I'm just tired of reading the same content and yeah sure I can go look at other threads around the forum. So before you tell me to "so then what are you dong here posting this?" That's because I know there's people tired of seeing it as well, but I'm sure there's people who don't even bother engaging in such sensitive topics. If we're gonna have people reading into something I haven't even stated which isn't even there, that's on them. I'm not against people identifying as who they want to be, people inherit that from experiences in their life down the road or they just simply found an identity they've seen and liked.
EDIT
So I just noticed one of my sentences was removed from the second paragraph of my post, why was that needed? Don't abuse your authority if you want to censor my opinion, it wasn't even extremely insulting. I'll restate myself again because honestly I don't see why y'all gotta remove it. If anyone isn't personally connecting with any of the characters introduced into the game due to characteristics and apparences then I honestly feel bad for you. There is that better forum staff? Did I sum it up in a different tone that's acceptable? Developers don't have to pander to a specific individual(s), but there always will be criticism even if the game remains fun. Not everyone has to be accommodated with an exact replica of "what a character should be." These are fictional characters, you don't need an exact mirror of yourself in it. There's no such thing as an absolute "perfect game" but we can try to suggest fixing potential issues such as bugs or anything problematic in that nature!

If you wear the neon mask from the premium pass for Susie, it glitches and her voice is switched to that of Frank's. I don't know why it happens but I've seen it occur when in the main menu or when selecting perks, offerings and add-ons for her. I'm not sure if it's just from my side though.
-
Neutral response to this, killers also have a "skin dispensary" with their outfit sets. Sure each survivor and killer come with new perks, but if people don't want to buy a whole DLC pack or character to an entirety of it's price they should add in a different shrine or anything that gives you the new perks without having to buy a whole DLC. But I can somewhat agree with what you're saying, if you level up your survivors to the highest they can play as almost anyone because they have the perks you've been waiting for them to have. They're all the same perks once you start sharing perks from one survivor to another. The same thing can be applied to killers if you level them up to the highest level, they have perks but yet they still have their unique game changing abilities, I'm thinking what if survivors had their own abilities besides having just perks? If this was the case for survivors as well, it would be something that needs to be looked at for balancing of course.
As for buying each DLC to keep up to date, iridescent shards are one of the virtual currencies that let you buy almost all of the in-game characters, excluding crossover survivors and killers that can be only bought by Auric Cells. The only difference that we have with killers and survivors is that they have their own height, body type, motto and all the other characteristics we can obviously see with our own two eyes. Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but aren't most crossover survivors and killers payable only with Auric Cells?

The thing is, I don't think anyone really cares about that. We have, what, 20 survivors? All anyone really plays are the original 6, with the occasional Kate, Feng, Ace, and Bill. How many Zarina mains do you know? How many Jane mains? How many Jeff mains? What about Laurie Strode or any of the other licensed characters other than Cheryl?
This wouldn't matter to people who actually spend time with the game on and off frequently, if they're the ones who actually save up their bloodpoints they could might as well level them up to the highest number if they wanted to. Therefore, underrated characters wouldn't be as much underrated because people who are patient with their million of blood points can just spend them on whichever character they please. If we're talking about statistics I'm sure that can be found somewhere here in the forums or a different website for the people who main which character.
Honestly at this point, I'm kinda somewhat bored of the current maps. I wouldn't mind seeing more just to have variety, some small maps need to be reworked in my opinion because they can be just as killer friendly for the next individual. If they're selling map packs at some point I'd gladly pay for them, exploration of maps is something I enjoy but that's what gives us new clues and ideas on what could be our favorite maps to play on, where to avoid dead zones of sorts.

I believe when it comes to gaming or any entertainment of the sort as portrayed by media, if there's always gonna be LGBT characters involved; then it shouldn't be no big deal. Why should people get riled up if they're included or not? The only thing that can be bothersome is if people don't personally connect with what appeals to characters just because they're not exactly like them; that's an entire different bias and can be a loser standard by that manner. Of course companies would cash in with such cliche ideas because they're a business, videogames are a business people and even so, representation in movies and TV shows is something that appeals to a larger audience as well. Do they actually care about who they're appealing to? Maybe, but even if that's the case these people are just trying to make money off their product which could very well be their reasoning for allowing development of said character(s) to be involved. There are various of factors to keep in mind here, sure the character(s) that are to be in the game soon could be either gay, lesbian or transgender whichever they want to identify as. If anything being relevant could just be relatable towards modern day events to add to the realistic portion of the game.
Other questions such as:
"Will this save the playerbase from reducing?"
"Is this actually gonna be beneficial for gameplay mechanics?"
"How efficient are these survivors/killers perks?"
"Let's see their spicy lore, is it already available in this new tome?"
Are more leaning towards technical issues the game has to offer, the least we can tackle this subject down is with drama. I've been in many communities so far and what ends up happening are that the main issues tends to be a drama of a shitshow which kills down a community, players can still enjoy basic game functions and still have fun; just don't think people will actually communicate because of dramatic reasons. This is probably one of the few reasons why developers and community managers tend to not listen to some criticism in feedback and questions regarding for a future Q&A stream, it's probably most likely correlated with negativity and drama. This just happens to be one of the few games people can love to hate at the same time. I'm only giving my two cents on this thread, so don't go and try to cancel me because of my thoughts, otherwise I'll enjoy my snacks as I read.
-
Oh boy here we go, everyone hold on to your popcorn and all the other snacks because there might be those type of people who snap at everyone hoping to cancel them right away. They're always looking for trigger worthy phrases along these comments, I don't even think this forum thread is even safe from them. Including a LGBT character sounds like a neat idea, however if someone gets targetted in game with said character, we already know there's people gonna take offense to that.
Like "omg this guy is targeting me and that's because I'm gay!!" Get a grip mate, that's just how the game is played, there's no reason for that survivor to be potentially overpowered just because they're a certain sexual preference. We're just gonna have to sit and wait on how their perks will play out, along with the killer that will come with their DLC if anything. But either way if no killer comes with said survivor then it's whatever. Gonna have to make a judgement called based on the technicalities of their perks, you can make almost any survivor to be the same if you level them up to 40+, so it wouldn't matter to those who have saved their bloodpoints. This thread is getting some traction, so hopefully a forum mod takes notice.
-
Frequent balance changes might seem like a hassle for the developers, but it's the least they could try to see what the community actually approves of when giving feedback on what does seem like a fair reasoning on the type of balancing that's being made, such as perks and special killer abilities. If the game is gonna get updates every now and then for that side of balancing I can be patient and wait, it shouldn't take that long to update. However there could be a possibility people could complain about it, but eh can't really satisfy everyone at that point, people play dumb when it gets to that.

Ignoring all reports of harassment and chalking it up as "people being people" and let every post game chat turn into a contest of who can make the most death threats, say the N word the most, and be as as scummy as possible before the lobby ends definitely isnt the route the game should go if it wants to stay alive. I'm glad the devs and forum moderators are passionate about these things. Believe it or not, people are actually turned off from playing a game when they google said game and the results have videos and reviews talking about how the community is extremely toxic and unforgiving.
Your whole point comes from the viewpoint of "Its bound to happen anyways, so why try to stop it?" which sounds silly when inserted into other things. "Arresting murderers isn't going to stop murders from happening, so why not just legalize it and let it happen? Arresting them isn't going to prevent murders in the first place. Other countries have worse murder rates so what's even the point of trying to keep it at bay?" Does it sound silly yet or do I have to give more examples.
Except that real murders in this matter have nothing to do with what I'm stating, another person right here misconstruing my statements. I'm not telling them to not report or even the staff ban offenders, I just don't see any of it happening. I pointed out that the person who reported tickets and talked about people who harassed them; when reported they were just given automated messages. That's why I said handle drama at your own leisure, because even if reported is it likely they will get banned? That's not something we don't know because we don't get emails of reports being handled. Where in the game "Overwatch" they do give you a notification if the person in question who has been reported has been handled. If we're reporting someone we should at least be notified if they were dealt with, there's a lack of communication in that. There's bound to be drama everywhere dude, if there's a toxic scenario with a current toxic player after the end of the match I just continue without saying anything; something some players do is to not communicate after a match. Therefore it's neutral if nobody says a thing, because nothing negative or positive was said right after the match.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03GUuXbtPe4"Just play something else"
Imagine saying this instead of trying to fix the issues the game currently has and I know this isn't even a recent video, but still pretty relevant. Videogames are also a business buddy! Don't ever forget that.

Comment under the wrong post? Because this doesn't make sense with the context of what anyone is talking about.
If we're talking from the amount of hate this game gets, towards the salty and toxic people who've had enough, switching to killers in order to get some revenge done then that just adds more fuel to the fire, it's still pretty relevant and even so the reporting can still be made but it doesn't mean it will be taken care of right away. If you read what someone else has commentated; their report tickets weren't even handled at all because all of the messages they were getting looked automated. As if a regular person wasn't even talking to them, they look like bots. You can add humility all you want, you've already proved you're not adding any input to the conversation.
What's the difference if you're gonna see toxicity in the game? Where as a game like Call Of Duty can have the most toxic fanbase since they actually have voice chat to begin with? I don't see any difference at all, if people are telling others to go off themselves because of how they played the game then their own thing. Handle drama at your own leisure, the only thing we have to worry is people hacking the game to get an advantage. Again this is a global issue, it'll continue happening. I don't even hate the game, I still have fun with it even when playing with friends.
I don't think every report will get handled if both parties are each other's aggressors since it seems to be a hate filled drama bandwagon. It's up to the staff team to handle that.

And those people should continue to get banned, rather than it just being glossed over. I didn't misconstrue anything you said.
Regardless if it is always going to happen, it should still have consequences. That's all there is to it.
Overwatch, a game you used as an example, is very quick to ban people that act toxic, and you're even notified in-game that your report caused someone to get punished.
Just because you find it funny doesn't mean others do
That sounds like a lot of survivors that have switched to killer just to get a few feel good revenging, oh man you sure taught me a lesson! Wow who would've ever thought that they would come back with a character that will most likely lead them to a win! Also check my post again, you don't have to keep posting, simply edit it your last post. I'm sure any survivor who has had enough would switch to a killer or any other survivor to try and get a labeled "gg ez game bro" as they see their rank getting higher.
I was watching a friend play this and they get a party of red ranks, isn't that some fair matchmaking? Wow again I applaud you for your effort in your statements! If there isn't such thing as a "bad matchmaking system" then what do we have here? We're expecting people to not be salty about stuff like this? Right man, believe what you want but it doesn't mean it's truth.
Survivor or killer it doesn't matter because it's inevitable you're gonna get salty at this game, there might be a way to fix this though. If there was an implementation where a casual gamemode is made for the people who just play casually instead of being competitive then they should release something of the sort. You can keep leveling up and upgrading your characters but the ranked mode is where the competition is, for those who are interested.

That seems counterintuitive. Allowing people like this to remain in the game is going to push players away as it is.
Plus, do you really want these customers if they act like this?
If the answer is yes, then you pretty much admit you prefer cash over human decency. That's a great way to lose business as well.
I didn't say I did, this happens with almost any PVP game for that matter, you can keep miscontruing my argument all you want but it'll remain a fallacy. Also I'm gonna add into what the moderator has said, this keeps being brought back in a circle. No matter what game it is it'll keep continue, a few examples of salt and toxicity happen in other games can be considered the following: Overwatch, Super Smash Bros, Tekken or any fighting game heck even an FPS like call of duty if you must. The toxic saltiness is there but that's what makes it funny, some people even pretend to be mad for the hell of it since they just want to laugh. This isn't a technical issue either, it's a global one for any online game; this is why people don't even communicate at all. A few people just don't argue or say anything due to this, they just play the game win/lose and then go on about their day.
This is probably one of those games you just love to play and hate at the same time, same can be said for other mentioned games as explained above. Imagine focusing so much on all this drama instead of trying to fix technical issues of the game right? That's not what matters, keeping the game in balance is what matters along with supporting the developers if they're willing to fix the game's current state, so sometimes paying can give them that support. It's what keeps the servers up and running, people can criticize as much as they want but what matters is the traffic and the money BHVR is getting, if it pleases a huge audience then they're doing something right.

For the whole "die" comment yes you can most certainly report that - it needs to be done in game though, as I am sure you can imagine screenshots can be manipulated but chat logs cannot be and when you report in game, these are then logged. Plus we need to ensure the match took place and that the right people are getting punished.
As for the comments on your Steam profile, that would be something to take up with Steam - we do not take action on something that is outside of the game.
Well you have the clarification right here folks, although I'm not sure a whole batch of users would instantly get banned after the evidence is reported as well. The player base still seems to be 50k counting up or down, so I'm not too sure on the staff actually handling every report since they don't want to keep losing players which means less consumers.
-
-
Also I don't know why this thread is getting a lot of traction from people memeing back at each other with humility involved, those arguments are already invalid anyway. Adding humility back at other aggressors doesn't solve any issues, in fact it doesn't even add any input. We might just have to get some forum staff involved, I'm not taking sides here either I'm just stating that criticizing someone's character doesn't add any actual value. Gen rushing IS something that exists, some people just have their own definition of this term which brings in their own determination of it, where as few technical issues is are ones that do need to be looked at by the developers themselves. Flaws in design is something that do exist, we shouldn't ignore that and carry it on because it just gives you an advantage. Not reporting some problematic content the game has just keeps existing said technicalities.
Looking back at the playerbase's graphs I don't think staff would gain anything from banning people from the game, since we're at peak 50k players. People payed for the game and can continue to buy cosmetics so in a way you can help the company out so they can keep their servers up, however some criticism should be allowed and not silenced; it's a way to try and help make the game better.
https://imgur.com/CzfdmBt https://imgur.com/hKCh0gONote the difference, back then there was more players. This was probably because of new survivors and killers being presented for upcoming DLC last year, well that and a few new cosmetics. These graphs count players on steam, but I could be wrong on that. This might not be counting console players or even windows store players. So correct me if I'm wrong, but this graph is the one that's up to date in terms of steam graphs.
-
If you're getting close to becoming a red rank, you should've seen this coming so I'm not sure why you're complaining. It's just a strategy that tends to happen a lot, survivors have it just as hard. I keep from gaining a rank to loosing pips rather fast and deranking again, the struggle for survivors are also there. Which is why they should atleast have a cooldown for losing pips way too fast, have you tried tunneling generators? It's one of the few tactics that can tend to help a lot if the generator placements are in favor of the killer, but balancing the map's structure and dead zones being placed at fair areas is something the developers should be working on. Sure we can go back and forward on who's performance is rather weak in terms of winning bloodpoints to the max. Some survivors even wear brightly colored clothing too, which gives the killer an advantage; they probably due it for the challenge. Not actual tome challenges by the way, difficulty can be fun for people but not for everyone.
I'd like to say that there should be a separate category for other players that enjoy their play style, just like Overwatch's "Arcade" mode, it's more for casual players than it is for competitive players who like to get into the ranks. This is one of my few brainstorm ideas, would be neat to have more fun modes instead of just one because sometimes the game can feel rather lacking, making it seem like a high definition mobile game up scaled for console and PC players, not gonna lie there.
-
@Sif said:
I can't even vote because I don't know what your definition of "winning" is. In the current system I can as a killer have all 4 survivors escape and still gain a pip. I certainly wouldn't call killing no one winning but that's what the system does right now.
So what do you even mean by winning?
"Escaping or not isn't considered a loss, performance is key and so is cooperation from your allies. I'll be taking feedback and other people's ideas into consideration, I'll change the post if I have to"
If both parties involved such as Survivor or Killer are taking a long match, then they might consider it to be an "absolute gg" because it takes them a while to get all categories to get the maximum points.
-
Kill with friends seems like something people might've wanted since the initial time the game has started, heck if some of these gamemodes were to be implemented they should at least make an Arcade category for people who play more casually than they do for competitive. This way Arcade can be used as a separate set of perks, bloodpoints but you still keep cosmetics. So for competitive you still keep the same stuff you have for right now, although not everyone would want that so maybe not start new and fresh for casual DBD gameplay.

Also no it isn't difficult to depip, I can go record a whole session of many matches in a row and I'll show you how EASY it is to lose pips, the struggle is so long and it's difficult to get good teammates that you start questioning the legitimacy of the developers, they should really start playtesting their game for future updates such as balancing and technical issues. Also what do you mean potatoes as red ranks? You do realize people spend their time trying hard to get to red ranks right?

People who say no are just have no care about difficulty it takes during this pandemic.
Sure complain yeah I understand but not forgive, how pathetic that your so entitled and can’t chill over some bugs.
How's it pathetic to give criticism when you're just as much as being the sheepherder's tryhard by buying cosmetics and calling it a day? What people want is to not have a buggy game, have perks be looked at for potential fixes in terms of balancing. What we need is less greed, developers not cherry picking questions for the QnA and them actually hearing the community out to make the game be better for other players. There's even steam graphs showing that the playerbase has dropped to 40k players and that raises concerns my friend. You can look that up if you want. I already posted screenshots of that in 2 threads or so and I even made a thread specifying problems in the game's community about that. What really irks me is that people keep correlating issues with "drama," that's not what this is, I may not speak for everybody here but what we want is technical issues being fixed and those expectations are not being met at all. The consumers may not be right all the time but if we have concerns with issues like these, then we're gonna start criticizing. Things I don't wanna be seeing is people being silenced for speaking out, that has happened already with a certain coconut as one commentator pointed out.
So for them it's more of a phrase such as "shut up, don't complain just buy it and play it."

Ranking doesn't really matter to begin with, and making it near impossible to depip solidifies that fact.
It doesn't matter unless if you're wanting to reach rank 1 with either Killer or Survivor, which leads to giving you the achievement for doing so. Leveling up is different because they can actually give you iridescent shards, if they start giving rewards for ranking up then that would be another reason to try. Ranking up shows if you bother trying being better at the game as well, that's the whole point of the results end screen. I just find it annoying how me and a couple of other friends frequently suffer deranking and losing pips because of the bad lighting of the map, a random not co-operating and engaging in unsportsmanlike behavior or we just got real unlucky. It depends on many factors.
-
Perk #1: "Obsession: EVASIVE MANEUVER" - Don't let them suffer for something you brought. Anytime you safely save a survivor from a hook, you gain one token out of 1/2/3 tokens. Anytime you're being chased by the killer, press E while healthy or injured to dodge any in coming attack, you will zoom to the side, either left or right depending on your direction. When you zoom, you take no damage and force the killer to miss an attack. If you have endurance active, it will take away all the tokens you have if the killer lands a successful hit on you. If you use all your tokens at once, you will have a 60% chance to stumble, causing you to fall over in place and will force you to recover which will take 1.2 seconds to fully recover. This perk does not count as an exhaustion perk, however if you stumble you're also afflicted with the exposed status effect for 30 seconds. If you're not the obsession, using this perk will force you to become the new obsession.
"It's me he's after. I'll buy you some time." - Jill Valentine
Evasive Maneuver seems like it would be a nice addition to the list of more perks being added for DBD but also having a quick knockdown if survivors use it too much, a fair balance of what would happen if survivors try to abuse it. Maybe making the perk up to 10 seconds or so to recover would make it challenging, but either way it might just be fair for the survivors, not sure if it would be that much for killers.
"Perk #2: "SELF-SUFFICIENT" - This isn't the first injury you got, and it sure as hell won't be the last. When healing yourself with a med-kit, your healing speed is increase by 14%. If you successfully heal yourself at 75%/50%/25%, the rest of the healing bar will slowly complete itself at 3/6/9seconds. Consumption of charges on med-kits are reduced by 25%. Med-kits will be highlighted to you in Yellow, if a survivor is holding a med-kit, their aura will be revealed to you at map wide. In 24 meters, the aura of any med-kits on the floor will be revealed to you. Any depleted med-kit you pick up will gain 15% of it's charges back. This also spawns bushes in the map that you can take leaves from to help you heal yourself if needed. These bushes can only be interacted with if you have this perk equipped. A max of 7 bushes spawn in every trail."
For the bushes part, I believe they're called "Herbs" in the Resident Evil games, they go by color variations such as Green,Blue and Red. A singular green herb can be used to heal if small damage has been done to the player, if combined with 3 or 2 more Green Herbs they can completely heal the player if in the "Danger" state of health. Blue herbs can be used to be mixed with green and be used if the player has been poisoned. Red herbs are useless by themselves, mixing them with green herbs fully heals the player. Maybe a poisoned state can be added into this thread as well, would be another status effect to potentially have if it ever surfaces into the game.
Perk #3: "Obsession: PROTECT AND SERVE" - If putting yourself in front of danger saves lives, then you will face danger head-on. If a killer misses an attack, or is carrying a survivor, you can run at the killer and jam a combat knife in their leg, stunning them for 1/1.5/2 seconds. Once it has been used, it can never be used again. This perk can not be used to save yourself if you're being carried by the killer. To use this perk, press the attack button to jab with the knife. You have the ability to land the hit or miss it. If you miss your attack, it will not take away your combat knife. At the start of the trail, the perk will be deactivated and will only become active if you're chased by the killer for 60 seconds. Any obsession previously will have their aura revealed for 120 seconds.
"You want S.T.A.R.S., I'll give you S.T.A.R.S.!" - Jill Valentine
I like the idea that Jill has one of those unique perks such as stabbing with a combat knife as an alternative version of decisive strike, adds more to survivors being able to attack back at the Killer. Stabbing at a killer with a combat knife sounds like a good idea, also may I ask if the knife is only available for those who are the current obsession? If not, I'd like a further clarification on that since it can be somewhat confusing, if the killer manages to kill their obsession and if there's another survivor who happens to turn into that next obsession while also having that same perk then it might just have to be reworked, if this DLC ever comes to fruition of course.
I actually had similar ideas such as Leon and Claire being both survivors while Mr. X was the killer, map being the RCPD of course. However it might be somewhat of a struggle to get the rights of the characters from Capcom; we'll see what can happen in the near future. I'll edit this post later on when this thread gets more updates.

This game was a mess since day one and the game's popularity is going strong.
We need actual help.
Literally anyone ever in any PVP game for that matter when it comes to game like these. The devs should really focus on making the game fair, stable and better. As for the rest of the people, yeah so what? Dopamine exists, it's been existing ever since we all get competitive and have that sense of achievement. Anything wrong with that? Anyone can enjoy competition, the problem is that toxicity exists and it will never go away since it's something that keeps happening. Even then Fortnite still has updates, various of changes like vaulting certain weapons because your "favorite ninja streamer" finds it "unfair" or can't even take the challenge. What we actually need is the developers really caring and keeping an eye on actual feedback instead of cherry picking Q&A questions, they just need better ears and eyes to notice what's really happening.
Look man, toxicity is a global thing; how can you expect it to go away so easily? Have fun at Fortnite or any online based game because there will always still be changes like fixing technical issues; such as bugs, glitches and keeping the game in balance. Oh also it's not just online games, single player games can suffer game breaking glitches or anything of the sort for that manner. I'm not gonna shame the developers for trying to make a fun experience for the game. But the moment they don't listen to Feedback of any kind such as criticism, they should really consider the following changes people want. Not the usual spammed suggestions but the suggestions that are in need for urgent consideration.

I've only seen a few players choose Blight as killer, there's been rare occurrences when I seen Blight in action. For some, I'd like to believe that if they're new to playing blight of course they would start to suck, but I've seen other people who done pretty well as Blight. I'm sure some people out there try anything as possible to try and win, using powers to their limits and reusing abilities. I've watched ordinary people do it so far as well in a couple of videos even if they're not veteran players. However, some perk balances do need to be checked so they can be kept in order.
-
Was there ever even been a time when BHVR made an ultimate decision to delete a perk completely?

Why don't you show the entire game's history? Why only the last few months?
You're right I should, I will edit the post momentarily.

By stating that you're leaving the game and the community you're adhering to cause another playerbase drop, it might not be apparent but it's almost like you WANT people to leave. Another reason why some people don't play killer at all would be because survivors have the most annoying perks than most killers do, which is a totally different cause. This allows them to possible have a higher rank with survivor than they do for killer, prove me wrong if you want but who here has seen a high rank killer more than one time? I would really want to know answers for this.
This graph shows a current change in numbers for the player base:
https://imgur.com/CzfdmBt https://imgur.com/8AKYCmqThis graph also shows that there's some really BAD ######### going around with this game's playerbase currently dropping and at an alarming rate as it keeps decaying in numbers. Very suspicious right? Gee I wonder what it is that devs are doing wrong!
*QUICK EDIT*
I've expanded the graph I'm showing more of it now, these look like good numbers rising as shown in the statistics above, these must be from when new killers were released or the majority who saw new content and like to spend on the cosmetics. I could be wrong because I started playing this game more as soon as the covid pandemic started, so feel free to correct me. Also this is based on steam's players, this may or may not have a correlation with console players as they may not be counted.

I would like some honest insight i love dbd but this game is def dying and the devs are not caring anymore. It's very sad. Stop trying to make quick money and fix your broke dick gsme to make more money for years.
I really wish they would listen to this type of feedback, but alas they end up disregarding criticism for it being "too negative." What there needs to be is a huge overhaul for bugs so they can fix them and overlook perks that need to be worked on. I've seen repetitive dumb questions for feedback as well this is probably one of the few reasons why they don't bother reading some of those criticisms because they tend to be spam.
-
I've seen this happen a couple of times including with Overwatch's dev team and lead director Jeff Kaplan. They don't want to see criticism because as long as you do that;they won't respond or they'll brush it off and tell you how they don't want to see anything "negative." Critique isn't even a bad thing, not even dramatic and the community just wants what can hopefully be best for players in this game's community. So the long way to go is give it a while and vote with your wallet as stated by different users. Technical issues which leads to unfairness of the whole gameplay resulting in bad matchmaking is what makes the audience less likely to play the game. It's apparent too whenever you see someone's reactions when playing a game like this, there's bound to be salt and toxicity. It's bound to happen, it is a PVP game after all. Happens all the time, there's no stopping that at all. BHVR just needs to have the bigger ears to listen to enough feedback to consider what could be the conclusion on managing what's best for the players and the eyes to see what's going on with the game for themselves. It's almost like they themselves don't play test their own updates, it's bad enough people don't communicate at all in online games like this because it's easy to avoid engaging in toxic comments. Which I believe that could be one of the few reasons some players just don't chat at all. The other issue is that there's people who if they manage communities or not, can believe that problems usually derive from "drama" that is not even objectionally true, so far what I've seen is people wanting technicalities being fixed in order to bring balance.

I mean the devs will ban you for mentioning a certain coconut because he calls them out in the hopes that they will one day prove him wrong and advocates that fans like us just stop spending money on the game so the devs can realize what they've been doing isn't good for the game.
RIP, well I made a thread on a possible way to fix the game's current state and added in 2 of that coconut's videos, here's hoping nothing happens to it.

The amount of whiny children commenting on this post is just insane. You kids needs to go back to Fortnite. The devs have done a great job and they do listen to the community. We are seeing the usual reaction of the toxic brats when new content hits and it isn't perfect. Uninstall if you're truly that butt-hurt.
Don't just call out people for being "children" if changes aren't being made in order to keep the community, then there's a problem right there. This one dude by the name of "ExposeTruth" just posted a few screenshots on what BHVR just did to them and he got banned immediately, I'll send you the screenshots if you want for more context.

Ormond is one of those maps that just keeps being spammed like crazy, it really does need to be reworked, what BHVR should do is at least make the map have a thicker fog, but not as thick to make it impossible to see. Even the new autohaven map is darker than it should be, I've only won around like 2 times or so for that map.
-
Well in simpler terms, I actually had troubles sleeping due to the "Jeff The Killer" creepypasta, how he would be depicted to say "go to sleep" as his catchphrase in a creepy way. But now that I know the origins of how his image was made for the original story, it seemed mediocre. The perks and add-ons seem very creative and well made, however the "unhinged rampage" might need to be worked on since it can be seen as too overpowered, the second ability which lets you hide in lockers in order to leap at survivors seems like a nice game changer too. Now that I see these images, it brings back the fear of the story again. Although I still like horror movies and dark content in that nature, I can sleep just fine now hehe. Some cool downs might be considered for the survivor too, things like the perk that lets you throw used items at the killer so it's not abused.
I'll state more and edit this later down the line if this reply doesn't get bugged of course.
*FIRST EDIT*
For the survivor Jane, I don't know much about her lore but what's up with her skin and her eyes being pitch black? She also looks like she could be classified as a killer. Her second perk "Fearless Fighter" kicking Jeff or any killer as a survivor goes through them by hopping over it would be another neat way to stun them, however if it's being spammed that's something that should also have a cool down of about 30 seconds or so, this is a way to prevent the abuse of such perk too.
I'm guessing the perks for Jeff would work as similar to that of The Oni. The third perk should have to be worked on as well, having generators hurt survivors is another major game changer, there could be potential complaints about that. The cooldown for this perk seems reasonable enough already so it should be fine.
-
I'm trying to give out a long detailed explanation on the creepypasta serial killer and the creativity on perks and add-ons but it's not letting me. I guess it must be the quote system being broken with long paragraphs.

Why do you write horror game in quotes? If you don't think the game is scary anymore, it doesn't remove the fact that the game is a horror game. It also sounds like you think it's weird that you can sweat in a horror game lol.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/OHRSU1SH6XQ8/sk-c3-a4rmkli13pp-png.png
Ok then I will rephrase my statement, it can be considered a *horror* game for the genre. However the people who've been playing for the longest for now wouldn't call it "horror" if they're used to the dark content the game has to offer, therefore they aren't really scared of every killer, just scared to lose a rank. Also I don't find it weird that people would sweat in a game like this, it's a PVP game what do you expect? It's bound to happen at any given time. lol

Lol still not seeing any christmas outfits for Jane, I guess it makes sense she can't be getting away with all that thickness. Would be making players act up with such an outrageous onesie ;))

Guess what, IT'S A HORROR GAME.
And guess what, people still sweat on this "horror game" who here actually finds it scary after playing for the longest?
-
It can be way too dark as well, it may benefit survivors but when you're the killer it's kinda tricky figuring out where survivors are or what's moving and what isn't, although that might be any map that plays mind tricks on you when hunting for survivors. If there was a setting to turn up some of the brightness that would help a lot.
-
Ghostface can be pretty overpowered if you know how to play him with the stalk ability, if survivors are looking at you; there will be an indication pointing out where the survivors are looking you from. I agree with the pig which can be nice to main as well, the plague for me can be rather slow but can be entertaining to play as if you know where to infect at the right timing. Legion can have both it's ups and downs, there's times when I win with them but lose at the same time when not paying enough attention to generators and keeping track of survivors when dashing and stabbing one of them. So for legion it's a 3/5 rating for me, somewhat of a mixed reaction. Michael Myers is one of the few who are easy to main when you know when to stop stalking in order to get that speed boost. I'm not even gonna begin talking about Freddy because he's so easy to use it's ridiculous, only use him if you're feeling salty and toxic. Spirit can be somewhat of a buffed wraith since she can go invisible and run to catch up to survivors, after uncloaking you can get a nice speed burst and stab at a survivor which can be satisfying to do. Demogorgon for me is almost a sin at this point, just can't seem to play him correctly. Same thing can be said for pyramid head, I've only been lucky a couple of 2 or 3 times when I won as him, that's about it. I haven't played DLC killers such as Hag, Clown and Blight, so I have yet to make a few statements for them. Huntress and the other range based killers are something to work on but can be quite fun to play if you're used to playing them. Leatherface and Hillbilly can be fun to play, similar to Hillbilly, leatherface can't sprint with his chainsaw but can still be rather effective when instant downing survivors. Hillbilly is just a buffed version of leatherface him being able to run and dash attack survivors instantly downing them. I know I'm not rating every single killer but that's because I'm not mentioning those who I rarely even play as.
Some killers just need their mori if the map's obstacles are rather aggravating for the killer, so the last resort is to use the mori in order to get kills that way which sucks. There's a few DLC killer ideas I have in mind and some horror game crossovers such as a Cry Of Fear, Resident Evil and many more.
However with how tedious and obnoxious some survivors are against killers, I play both survivors and killers. What's interesting though is that my survivor rank is highest than it is for killer rank. I've been leveling up my survivors more as of lately than the killers, I should probably go and level them killers up as well.

Actually Cheryl's purple outfit makes sense that it's linked, it's supposed to represent a whole other character without technically being a different person. I'd explain all the details but it's pretty complicated, I'd definitely recommend looking into the game's lore, it's pretty interesting. I do not however agree that Cheryl's green outfits should be linked, there is no reason why we shouldn't be able to mix and match with them.
I understand this, I only played a tad bit of silent hill. Don't think I ever beaten a whole silent hill game though, however this IS indeed dead by daylight, I just felt like wanting to mix n match for more uniqueness to the character. Cosmetics aside, the way you play the game is what matters in the end, it's just something of a bonus and neat thing to have though to be specific.
-
I find that kinda rigged too, I mean I understand victor is used as a special ability but he's part of 2 killers in one. He should really get some equipment as well. I'm gonna compare them to how the ice climbers are like in smash bros, they both have alternate skins for each other. It'd be worthless for Victor to not have a matching outfit set for whichever is equipped.

Well people claim its because "moar money" that way, because a set is more expensive then just buying a part of it, but that is why I added the last part of my post, its nonsense because I wont ever buy a set, sets are boring, like running the 3 perks that came with a survivor/killer on that survivor/killer, boring presetup lack of individualism crap!
I would spend money if this crap was not locked down like this but...guess they dont want it.
I guess so, black friday is still in effect but the prices aren't really that reduced for some outfit pieces. I mean money is money, even for just a simple cost of 180 Auric Cells for an outfit piece would suffice, don't need to keep buying sets. I want to be able to have some Auric Cells left to buy even more content for both killers and survivors. Makes the spending more worthwhile which gives more benefit to the consumers, when it comes to people collecting what they want of course.
-
I actually wanted to buy one of the few parts of Cheryl's outfits, the purple student one but I ended up buying the whole outfit set because parts of that outfit just isn't sold separately. I wanted to dress her up by mixing up customization with the clothes, this should be an easy fix. I wonder why this is the case? Must be texture glitches or something of that sort.

I'm gonna have to agree with this statement, as survivor in the Ormond map. The map is way too bright, the tactic here is to wear greyish clothing or any color to blend in with the map in order to not be seen so easily by the killer. The new autohaven is also way too dark to see for both killer or survivors. The fog doesn't seem to be seen anywhere either, what happened to it? Hopefully it's being reworked, it's what helps survivors actually escape but it can also help the killer be hidden amidst the fog. If they're trying to make newer graphical updates to beautify the game, I can appreciate that. They should just rework the visibility during gameplay, I'm not taking it for granted though; I can wait as long as possible for these changes to be implemented.
