  • They need to address both the gen speed and map design. I think giving diminishing returns for more than 2 people on a gen would be a good way to encourage survivors to spread out more and keep gen speeds low. Combine this with a tighter map and time until encountering the other side increases immensely. As it stands now, ruin is the only thing being changed and not addressing gen speed and map design along side the ruin change will make a long of people upset.

  • Huntress all the way. Those stun noises... mmMMmMmm

These two perks in particular are way too strong and really make the game unfair. Slippery meat in particular is so mind numbing to go against, that I usually end up disconnecting. When will these be nerfed?

Slippery meat and hope aren't very strong. If you DC against slippery meat, you're just being extra. It helps against trapper, but trapper isn't very strong or very popular. It's kind of a meme addon

I mainly use ghostface and spirit so there both M1s besides when your using there abilities.

What does your build usually look like? Whenever I play speed limiter bubba (aka: godda) I pop Franklin's in place of Ruin if I see more than two toolboxes.

My perk flow is quite high actually I almost have every killer perk in the game except for like 6 killers. So while I have options idk what to run..

Oh well then it's totally up to you. It's better at lower ranks as more survivors are less likely to know where they dropped their items every time, but it's a little like Ruin in that it's pretty hit or miss. Obviously it's much better on M1 killers, on anyone else it's pretty inconsequential.

  • @BugReporte said:

Is franklin's demise a good perk in the lower ranks? I hate getting gen rushed and I even hate it more when everyone leaves threw hatch. Ik it's annoying for the survivors but I mean half the time I get flashed when picking up someone and when they constantly spam it, they make wanna scream.

Very situational, pay attention to items in the lobby and it could pay off. Usually Franklin's isn't great to run, but if you're just looking for something to fill the 4th slot, it's pretty okay. I would recommend deerstalker if you don't have too much to work with, but that's just me

Putting a trap under a bodyblocked survivor is not an intended mechanic. It is a result of the mechanics but there is a difference.

Bodyblocking feels bad when it happens to you, but it's entirely your fault you didn't use your movement to avoid the situation

If they have DS by endgame that's the killer's choice.

If a survivor has DS by endgame and gets unhooked, they're getting out no matter what. No matter what ######### plays they make, theres a little safety net to catch them after they ######### up

  • @laurelstroodle said:

I played 1 month with spine chill, and I realize after 1 month that spine chill is bad.

It doesn't fit with my gameplay, and is a perk for blind people (lol)

Once you have some good hours on the game you can use your ears and eyes to predict where the killer is coming from, is just a waste slot for me.

Still, see some people saying "spine chill is S tier" lmao.

Breaks through stealth, becomes situational with extensive meta knowledge. Like BBQ

  • It gives you a free stun for running into the killer. Good survivors with DS abuse the invincibility it gives you by doing ######### in the killer's face all the time.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

So a couple of people have been posting their tierlist, and i saw one thing that's very consistent that struck me as odd

They all put Legion way at the bottom while putting Plague relativly high

I don't really understand this, what does Plague have that Legion doesn't have except an ability that you only get if survivors choose to

In the end they both leave everybody injured and become an m1 killer that oneshots and have some tracking

With the exception that Legion does it faster

Plague punishes survivors that don't know how to play against her pretty hard. Legion eats through healing, but as a survivor you don't have to change up your gameplay too much to be more effective racing legion

  • DS doesn't counter tunneling. If anything it makes you a target because you're running a freebie perk. DS, as it currently functions, is just a better, one use BT. It's just an invincibility field that rewards bad survivor plays.

  • Any loop that runs for 3 minutes may as well be infinite for how it affects the game

Does Mad Grit give stacks to STBFL and do the STBFL stack make the successful cooldown shorter ?

STBFL doesn't stack with mad grit, your swing cool down while carrying will be zero no matter what. And the kids never stop singing. Ever

wait so youre trash talking instaheals but red add ons are fine because they are rare???? bruh

    moris are ballanced?? how??

killer is getting red item every bloodweb (if its hillbilly his getting ebony mori every bloodweb, if its huntress shes getting ebony or 1shot hatchets, most of killers have 33% for ebony, 33% of good red add on and 33% of bad red add on) HOW IS THAT RARE??? if you play with bbq you pretty much have full bloodweb per game. HOW IS THAT RARE? my 100 ebony moris on hilly are rare hmmm (and im not even hillbilly main)

    You okay bud?

  • Butthurt players that make excuses are everywhere on either side. Take it in stride like hackusations

  • @Galklife said:

god windows or i live calling them "definitely not infinite window" are such a pain, 1 time devs TRIED to fix them and now most of those windows have 50% chance to spawn xd and ironworks windows was untouched

you told "survivors dont get trashtalked for genrushing? well how often do you see "gens go too fast" posts? there is crap ton of killers that have problems with gen speed (well im not one of them) but im only showing you its not like noone trashtalk survivors here, if anything there is much more killers whining about survivors being op than survivors whining about killers

and when youre talking about instaheals/keys killers have their own BS stuff (mori, half of red add ons, add on combos like insta saw, tombstone piece etc) in beautiful world all of them would be deleted but we're living in this world and play in this dbd and possibility of devs fixing all that is impossible, because this game is casual friendly and those add ons are made for fun and can make so many giggles but ppl around red ranks are getting sweaty (i mean "competitive") and abuse everything to win xd and that is so sad i want to have chill games without tryhards on both sides but there is nothing i can do ;/

Red add-ons are very rare, and thus very powerful. They have a right to be. Moris are balanced. Period. They have to be powerful to be a killer equivalent to keys. Tombstone Myers isnt fun to play against, but the game literally depips you for playing it optimally.

My gripe is that survivors don't see any consequences for using braindead/unfun strats like killers do, making it the optimal way to play. If you don't think survivors have more power than killers you're just not playing correctly

  • Okay, gen rushing is totally real. I don't know about y'all, but my ideal game of survivor isn't to hold M1 for 10 minutes straight.

Gen rushing is deliberately choosing to interact with less in-game elements, less people, and take less risks. It's the equivalent of playing WoW for resource mining and auction house trades over raids or story missions. You know who you are with your brand new parts and commodious toolboxes, but it's not as common as people think.

  • @SlimyTaco said:

Gen rushing isnt real, its called playing the game. Infinite looping doesnt exist. Etc?

Try being bodyblocked by a trapper and then having a trap set under you so he can 1 hit. Yeah, theres a massive difference from how douchey killers can be vs how survs can be. Remember, you are the killer. You have the tools to do anything you want. Survs dont.

Infinite looping no longer exists, but there's still a good number of God windows that spawn pretty frequently. If the killer your looping is a Huntress, then they can still be infinite. These loops don't really take much skill to do properly and are pretty hefty cheese.

If you got bodyblocked, then that's your fault man. Work on movement

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

why are you mentioning insta heals they are in a fair state now

An example that isn't there anymore, but received less criticism than tunneling while it was present.

  • Huntress and Wraith. Huntress for the range and Wraith for the speed.

  • Killers do it less than survivors. It still happens, but it's not the norm.

  • Unpopular opinion: if you gotta camp you gotta camp. Had a game where I got gen rushed down as Huntress, so when I did catch someone I hooked them right up in front of the exit gate and proxied like a madman.

I just ran around the hook chucking hatchets and waited them out because I knew they weren't going to leave someone behind. They didn't coordinate a good unhook, so I downed two people that went for it, popped their BT, hooked another and started cleaning up after BW activated. Turned a 1k into a 4k and the survivors we're good sports about it, sometimes it do be like that

  • Imagine quitting for good after getting bad luck

  • Not a fan of these ideas. I cant see these being used by any significant amount of the playerbase, besides the second for what I'd assume to be a very brief time.

Then many of you smart a--es say "jUsT uSe dEcIsIvE sTrIKe" as if that changes anything because, by then, you're satisfied the devs finally gave you what you wanted but I'm not surprised. Not any reason to put any effort in explaning why not, because you did not put any effort in explaining why it is balanced.

It's a very rare and expensive upgrade that trades effective uses for power. It doesn't propel Huntress into the god tier nor is it so powerful that most Huntress players use it. It's unfun to play against and is pretty niche all things considered, but it's just fine the way it is.

It's an unpopular opinion of mine, but DCs can sometimes point to a problem.

I see a lot of players complain about certain items, add-ons, and offerings (I will list them below). Then when they are used in-game, the DC chances skyrocket.

You can't ignore the trend that we see between DCs and balance:

    • Secret Offerings (Ebony Mori)

When I loaded into the match, game was immediately cancelled.

    • (Pre-nerf Spirit) Prayer Beads Braclet

First survivor that got generator grabbed DC'd and his SWF buddies also DC'd.

    • (Pre-nerf Nurse) Omega-Blink

First survivor that got downed noticed her blink range and DC'd with his SWF buddies.

    • (Pre-nerf) Legion

Survivors automatically DC when they see the Deep Wound meter in the HUD.

    • Haddonfield

When the game begins, sometimes you won't finish the camera pan as the survivor, the killer immediately DCs.

I can go on, but DCs can be an indicator for balance problems, but not all DCs are an indicator for balance. With that said, I don't endorse DCing when you face something unbalanced because it ruins the game for everyone, just take the challenge and do your best.

About my idea, it's risk and reward because as humans, we aren't perfect, we are prone to mistakes (you can be perfect one game and terrible the other). Eventually you will be forced to restock in one of those bad games, and that takes a ton of time. 😁🤗

I disagree with your DC theory. DCs only occur when a player views a situation as pointless to participate in, right? Not really. People DC all the time and sometimes it didn't matter what, only when. Killers are given a gradient of success to base themselves on, whereas a survivor's success is quite binary. I think that aspect of play adds a great deal to perceived balance, but iri head just doesn't have the numbers to back up a rework. I'm basically saying your opinion doesn't matter and iri head is still attached to a projectile, thus it can be countered very easily. But it is boring, which is why I have 50 of em in my inventory.

  • @Apple2o said:

It's because huntress gameplay is mindless and honestly isn't too much better than spirit. It's just a 50-50 guess if she is going to pull up a hatchet at the pallet or do an M1. Now add in instadowns on top of that and it's just busted.

If you're playing against huntresses like that, you shouldn't see them after you rank up

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

they shouldn't be useable with extra hatchets that's the only change it needs in my opinion

    Totally agree

  • @T2K said:

I can only talk about console huntress here. Back then when I played on PC you had 3 iri hatchets with the addon before the nerf and that was kinda crazy. So on console I never encountered a good huntress with iri head the last 2 years. I main huntress and almost never use them myself. Ofc on console its a different case but its not like iri head is too strong. I think the main problem here are the survivor who play vs iri heads the same way like against every other huntress.

I think you're absolutely right about not adjusting playstyle to take less risks with an iri huntress. It's definitely harder to avoid on PC, but PC survivors have some good movement options that aren't discussed in-depth much. I'm actually surprised it's not more commonly known

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Iridescent head is legit broken. It's just throw, slug, repeat two more times then down the last one. GG you got outplayed by something that you literally couldn't predict would happen nor can counter if the Huntress player has at least half a brain and a mouse that works.

    >Couldn't predict

I'd be fine with restrictions on iridescent head and military belt, but claiming there isn't any counterplay to a slow moving projectile is ridiculous

  • @SquirrelKnight said:

Ok, im kinda new to this and i play surv and killer though, in fairness, killer more. I know this is gonna trigger a lot of people but, doesnt huntress hum and let you know shes nearby like, 40 meters out or something? Why are you letting her get so close, you can sneak around and do other stuff instead of staring at your generator and having no awareness.

Huntress's humming radius shows her general position, but hides her exact position.

  • @NMCKE said:

Okay, you want me to change your mind?

    Challenge Accepted

I equipped Infantry Belt and Iridescent Hatchets at purple ranks, this is what happened after I downed the entire 3-Man SWF with my hatchets.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/879/SMHPFJQKWRIA.jpg

The Nancy didn't DC, so we just farmed for the entire match and he completed his generator challenge. ❤

Obviously, facing a Huntress with Iridescent Hatchets and Infrantry Belt is not fun nor balanced at all. Therefore, since the picture proves my point, a change to Iridescent Hatchet is a must.

    Iridescent Hatchets

The strength of this hatchet shakes in the hands of the Huntress.

When you hit a target, you will regain a hatchet.

Restocking in Lockers will now grant you one hatchet instead of granting you all of your hatchets.

    >Downs a SWF 3man

    >SWF DCs

    >This clearly means that iridescent head is broken and needs to be rebalanced.

It's kind of dumb to base a balance change off gamers getting tilted and DCing. I'm sure if you were playing against better survivors, they'd have stood a much better chance.

I do like the infinite hatchet idea tho, not sure if it would be OP or kinda gimmicky. What's the point of having "theoretically" infinite hatchets if survivors only take 2 each? Wouldn't that be a little overkill if you kept landing them?

  • @twistedmonkey said:

It's more to do with how they are ranged and also the hit boxes along with lag.

A good huntress rarely misses hatchets unless they are far away as then its easier to avoid. I also think with the hitboxes it seems to hit you a lot from 3m away or more from where it should land and that can feel cheap when it happens.

I don't mind them really as I dont tske the game too seriously but I can understand why some don't as they don't take any more skill to use than normal hatchets and have a huge upside with little downside when paired with the infantry belt.

Dedicated servers are hella trashy and often times creates some questionable interactions, but at the same time I think more people use "dedicated servers #########" as an accuse to not improve than as a legitimate criticism of game functionaplity. There's still plenty of options for survivors to dodge hatchets, it's just harder to do.

  • @ASpazNamedSteve said:

Meanwhile every good Huntress ever will disagree with you.

My comment boils down to “people make assumptions against a killer they haven’t actually tried to learn and master. I have learned and near enough mastered how Oni works and I can tell you that from experience, he is very strong, as others who have also spent time mastering him will say. Go ahead and keep saying how weak he is, it just means the devs will leave him alone or even better, make him stronger”

Correction: your comment boils down to, "Git Gud." I don't think you've been playing Oni because you don't go into any detail concerning playstyle other than saying "DONT PLAY M1!" I've tried for a good while to use Oni well and it isn't working out for me. How about instead of smugly commenting "L2P," you share some of your knowledge on Oni's very powerful kit. Until you do, I have no reason to believe you aren't a fresh install that just saw a streamer talk about how busted Oni is.

    TLDR; discuss instead of respond.

    *Edit*Edit: Nvm, I'll investigate further

You realize two of those perks are 100% to counter killer's terrible attitudes when playing the game, right? If killers wouldn't camp and tunnel, no one would be using those two. That said, I see no reason to complain about NOED, usually only bad killers run it anyways. You can pretty much always tell when a killer is using NOED. There is a valid complaint for BBQ, although probably not the one the survivors you're talking about are complaining about. The valid complaint is how easy it is to get vs WGLF.

I hate the idea that DS only effects tunneling killers. That's just outright false. A lot happens in 60 seconds, I can't tell you how many times I've chased, downed, hooked another survivor, and still get hit by DS because of its 60 second timer. With any amount of coordination and skill, DS can be used to create a lose/lose scenario for a killer. It's just a free hit with a 60 second timer. Don't fall for the DS tunneling meme.

  • @John_Doe said:

  • The first flick change was fine, the outright removal of Oni's flick has now made him significantly weakened. Now he's ######### dead

  • Moris are rare and don't reward the killer very much for capitalizing on their newfound early kill potential. Evil Incarnate Myers deranks you, so do early Moris. They're perfectly balanced, and it doesn't stop survivors from DCing and making a killer waste a rare item

  • I think they just want to avoid the deep wounds "existential nightmare" Legion. I'm not sure why people say he's useless now, he's in a better place now without being totally annoying
