At the moment, the "dedicated server not responding" disconnect happens often. So maybe most times when you think it's a ragequit, it might be just a disconnect.
-
Same is happening to me from time to time. I am lucky it didn't happen so much that I got a 72 hours ban yet, but I heard of people getting these. For me, it is in maybe 1 out of 20 matches.
Just a few minutes ago, I had a wonderful match where everyone participated in the event, threw offerings and so on. It was a very long match. I would have got LOTS of bloodpoints, but shortly after the fifth gen was done, it just threw me out. That's really a sad waste of time ๐๏ธ
At least I was the Survivor this time, so I hope the other players at least finished the match. It happens when I play killer sometimes as well and I guess if that happens, it's game over for all five players.
I don't understand why they at least not make it so that the penalty isn't that much. At least for the time until this is getting fixed. Could go back to normal after issue is fixed.
I would be happy to see a maximum penalty of 15 minutes, as long as this "bug" is still around. But still, wasted time and BP can't be refunded I guess.
-
Anybody knows if there will be cakes or bonus BP of some sort?
-
On PC you could use a controller as well, i guess?
PC will be always my fav. Upgrading hardware from time to time isn't much more expansive than console. Graphics are better/adjustable. On some games you can use mods better. And you don't have to pay extra money for playing online, like Playstation network or whatever.
PC is overall much more customizeable and less money consuming in the long turn.
-
My opinion on that: It really depends.
If I have the feel that there is more than 1 surv around, I sometimes kick gen first, if it's already running at high speed. Also trying to chase off both survs a little. I would think that if I just go chase one, the other Surv will finish off the gen fast and so gen is lost. But that also depends on how many gens are already done.. if there is more than 1Surv, the kick before chase is wasted either way, in most cases, if they play well and second surv comes back to a gen which is nearly finished, if you chase the first Surv it's lost gen anyways. So you might as well just give up on the gen and go for the chase instead of kicking.
If I think nobody else is close, and gen isn't already done that far, I come back later to kick most of the time.
But it also depends which gen regression perks you use and so on. I think there is no one and only true answer.

Basekit arrows + quiver for killers, please. So they can stay out of range where unhook timer would go up and still hit the survivors who try to loop him in there. This makes up for the area around the hook and the floor above or under hook feeling like lava and can't be walked on by killer in the future. At least if he doesn't want to be baited or bullied by the soon arising "AFC-SQUAD".

I was on your side. Until I read this:
and when I play survivor with friends we bully the killer.
If you are serious on that, then you shouldn't complain about a problem you are part of. If you bully, you are just spreading toxicity. Bullied killer might get salty and bring this salt to his next match.. And so on.
If this was just a joke: nvm.

I hope there will be cakes or bp items on Halloween.?

You know, today I had a match where I was right at the exit. Nurse had hooked a Dwight in my sight (only me and him left). I had a challenge where I needed to escape. I was tempted to be selfish because I was injured but the Nurse nodded at me. She floated back a little and kept nodding. I cautiously approached but she keep nodding "Yes". I thought "Yeah, she is letting me unhook" She hit me before I could unhook and took me to another hook.
Never again will I trust a gesture of kindness.
Yeah, I see killers do that as well. Sometimes they are seriously nice, sometimes they just fool you. It's just gambling. I had a killer who let me wiggle free at exit gate (last surv, got downed close to exit). I started to open, he nods. Seconds later, he downed me again, let me wiggle free.. he did that three times. And hooked me in the end ๐ I can just imagine they sitting in front of their Screen laughing. ๐คช
Whenever I do something like that as a killer (nodding, let wiggle free on exit, drop next to hatch and so on..) i stick to it. I am never the one who changes his mind after that, because I would feel like the biggest **** around acting nice and then smash them right in their face when they feel safe. But yeah, I understand some killers might consider it funny, oh well just let them do.. but never trust 100% ;P
But @topic, I wouldn't care if there were gestures for killers, would be okay with that. I just think it would take away some of the chills/creepy feeling. "The unknown evil.. what might this killer be up to.. oh nooo!๐จ". Not as if the creepy feeling is still there after hours of gametime but.. maybe you know what I mean.
-
A lot of team mates in SoloQ:
- come unhook me when it's totally NOT safe, killer has just hooked me two seconds ago
- are chased by the killer, close to where I am hooked, he hits them once and they are like "okay, might as well just run to that hook over there and unhook, with the killer being like 3 metres behind me and I am injured".. -
Sometimes they can't even process trough the complete unhook bar and end up just lying in dying state right under my hooked feet, sometimes I "accidently" take an endurance hit because team mates decide to unhook very unsafe, with killer very close.
It all depends on the situation and the point of view. Me personally, I am not angry when being "tunneled" after getting an endurance hit. But I have to say: sometimes I do it on purpose, but sometimes it's just because of weird/unsafe behaviour of my mates.
Cases I take the hit/block on purpose sometimes are, when an already injured mate with the killer right behind him unhooks me and he would for sure go down then. I mean, it is his own fault doing that unsafe unhook. But sometimes I just feel that I owe them, because otherwise they would just go down "because they unhooked me"..
-
I play both and for me it feels kinda fair. (but not playing high mmr i have to admit).More fair than a few years ago at least.
But I am worried about what happens as soon as AFC takes place. If it really is the case that Killers can be looped above the hook on two-floored maps or shack, so survs get "free" escape, then I will consider it clearly survivor sided. It would annoy me on my killer games. Like.. half the map is getting kind of a save space for Survivors or something like that?? Guess I will just have to wait and see, hope it will turn out being a good feature..
But at the current state, for me as a casual player, I see no role in big advantage. Only times when thought's like "unfair!" come to my mind are the so called "bully squads" but these are not the benchmark for the game overall I guess.
-
Soon this will all belong to history, thanks to the Antifacecamp mechanic. I bet no killer wants to hook anybody there anymore. Either killer gets looped upstairs, while mate in basement get's free unhook or killer leaves for the unhook timer to stop so mates can unhook them easily. Either way, for me it seems that basement will soon be the opposite of what it is now - it will be one of the most unsafe spots to hook a Surv.
-
@Mooks said:
A bug happened?
you literally would get more points just by entering the second hook stage, no? (I mean, at least the skillchecks..)
Maybe with Tombstone Myers? But I don't know if Myers can only kill by his own hands with tombstone, if they are in second hook stage or right at the beginning.
Or maybe he just didn't do wiggle-skillchecks and let himself die on hook because of the salt that he got caught seconds after match start? ๐คฃ
Anyways, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush so you should celebrate 4bp and be grateful ๐
-
On RPD it worked for me as well, wasn't easy to get on this map. Just been lucky.
But unfortunately, once Anti-Camp-Fix launches, it might get even worse to do the basement-hook challenges. Because Basement will be the spot where people unhook "for free" and maybe even get a gen "for free", if there is one upstairs..
-
Give us a hint and tell which emblem this BP went to.
Maybe a grab off the gen?

It's not supposed to make you try hard. It's simply a reward.
Still wouldn't make me feel better, if facing them.
My humble wish would be, they change something else about the system, so I don't have to face them anymore or "bullying" wouldn't be possible anymore. But I guess that wish will never be granted. Can't ripp people off playing together, I guess ๐
And it seems to be widely accepted, that friends team up just to ruin killers game. Isn't even reportable. Or at least nothing will happen, if you do so. As long as this is the case, nothing will help me (personally) to get over it, even a BP Bonus wouldn't.
Sounds theatralic I know, but I just hate it so much when people intentionally want to ruin others peoples experience
But hey, if you give me extra BP for that, of course I will take 'em. Just wanted to point out, that I would love to see more support for the killers on the topic of bully Squads ๐ Asking for Bonus BP in that case is asking too little.
-
Hannibal Lecter would be cool, with Clarice as a Survivor. But that's just thrown in. ๐คญ I couldn't think of a good Power for Hannibal.
-
Sometimes SWF drives me nuts, and playing against a well coordinated group whose intention it is to count how many flashlight stuns or head-ons they can give me in one match isn't very fun to me. And I love BP. But getting more BP, still wouldn't make up for that, tbh. Match would still be unfunny. And I would not play anything different against them than what I do at the moment, just because I know I would get Bonus BP. If I face them, I just take it veeeery chill, the opposite of trying hard/sweat. And hope for it to be over fast. Getting more BP would not change that, would not makeing me try hard.
-
My thoughts are, that most people play what they think is either attractive to look at, or unique.
Nowadays there are still more male people playing I guess, and I can just imagine that more male people play female, than female people playing male characters.
On my side, I am female straight and I play Jeff because of attractiveness, or Jane because of uniqueness because she is the only Survivor being chubby, which sticks out to me, in a positive way of variety. (Which is in the eye of the beholder, of course - that's just my point of view).
Kate for example is a Surv which I don't like to look at on my screen, because she looks just plain and simple to me, like every girls face on Instagram :-P
Those are my Jane and Jeff. Haven't bought cosmetics for years, have to get a look on what's new ^^

I don't play thia game often anymore and never looked at the emblems so I could genuinely be wrong. But is this not what I was meant to do? Why didn't it count?
Unfortunately, what you need is the last emblem, which is golden on the posted screenshot. You need it to be iri/red. Which means escape the trial without being downed.
-
Of course my statement wasn't meant to hit someones personality overall, or what kind of human being they are in real life. Sorry if it sounded that way. I only evalute things connected to the game.
Is it any less selfish to expect others to attenuate how they play because you brought an offering?
Its not unempathetic to play game how you like regardless of what offerings people bring, in fact that has nothing to do with empathy or lack thereof.
I just think people shouldn't care if others get bonus BP, even if they play a way they don't like. I consider it slightly envy or not begrudge someone something, if you say things like "I don't want to give my opponent BP, just make it so it's only for me!". Of course you don't have to expect to be pampered just because of the fact you brought a BP offering either. I just smell enviousness if people say they want offerings to be only personal. Because I think the Event offerings who give BP to everyone are a nice "celebration" and give a feeling of belonging together as a whole community on events.
It doesn't hurt you to not get maximum BP's for your offering either. "But I wasted the BP's" so you wasted an infinitely available resource which is given for free for simply playing the game, the sunk cost is so minor its barely measurable.
Yeah, it doesn't hurt me if I don't get max BP out of my offering. I never said that. OP did.
If they choose to and everyone gets heaps of points great, but if they play as they always would then that's neither selfish or unempathetic, its just gameplay and doesn't make them a bad person whom lacks empathy and generosity.
I am not saying that either. My "lack of empathy" post was just related to someones opinion to make the event offerings for one player only, because they don't want others to get BP out of it. For me, it's a nice bonus for "everyone" and I don't get mad if someone got more BP out of my offering than I myself did in a match. Sometimes that's how it goes.
Want to point out again, that's of course nothing personal, just my opinion on the question if event BP offerings should be one-player only or stay like they are, giving everyone in the match the extra BP.
Overall, everyone gets more BP if event cakes are used by more than one player often. Even if sometimes you are tunneled out fast. Better luck next match, when other players throw in their BP as well. It's nothing I get angry about. I am not the one saying: "Bleeeh make BP only for me! I don't want to give others the BP because i get tunneled out of the game fast!". I'm above that. Doesn't hurt me if I see other people get more out of something at the game, or their grass is greener than mine.
So, I think there was a little bit of misunderstanding about my last post. Might be because I have expressed myself wrong. Sometimes I auto translate words I am not sure about as well (like "empathy" or "envy") so that might have add up makeing it sound more harsh than it was meant to.
Sorry for that, and see you in the fog. Being it with or without event-cakes โ๏ธ

Jane Romero
Just because of the looks. I like it, that she is the only one who is a little chubby, so she sticks out a little.

But people on the forums, who played xeno on PTB, told that it is "fixed" on PTB.
They have already fixed the bug in this ptb. You just need to wait a bit, at least until next Tuesday/Wednesday. After all, this bug was recognized as an bug a couple of days before the last bugfix, they physically did not have time to fix it. In any case, wait for the correction, it will definitely be (:
-
At the moment there seems to be an issue/bug with xenos tail. According to some comments, it is fixed on the PTB so it should work better with next patch maybe.

Nemesis hits any of those hits any day of the week. How in the world do these miss? Can we please get a dev to review this footage and comment on it?

Assuming everyone brings an offering, then yes. Lets' say the survivors are Meg, Haddie, Dwight, and Ripley. The killer is Pig.
Now, on the offering screen you see the following.
Terrormisu, [Hidden], Sacrificial Ward, Strode Realty Key, Shattered Bottle.
When you get into game, you will then see the survivors in that order on your screen. So Dwight is the one that killed your request for Dead Dawg and Meg brought the Terrormisu, while Ripley had the audactity to try to bring you to Haddonfield. Haddie brought a Shroud of some kind.
It mostly works the same if you are one of the survivors, the only difference being that the order of survivors might be different, but you will always be first and the killer will always be last.
Thanks for explanation, I will keep that in mind next time I play killer and see a cake :D
Just a note to OP: Maybe the killer didn't even know you brought the cake. Look at me, I've got over 500hours on DBD and still didn't know. So don't take it personally maybe.
-
But I think I would hate having cosmetics I don't own or have paraded in front of me when I go to equip cosmetics.
So make it an extra button/Tab right next to the one with the two arrows, like Emeal suggested. This way you have your own cosmetics and the ones which you didn't purchase kinda sepperated.
-
You all make it sound as if the killer knows who exactly brought the cake. Am i missing something?
-
Survivors dodge high-P survivors so much it's getting on MY nerves
Survivors dodge high Prestige Survivors? Why? ๐ค
-
I don't care if they make it so that only killer can't see it but survs can, or if they turn off until endgame completely.
Only problem I think, is to make it an option. Because I agree to sizzlingmario4 on that:
If it was an option, I think it might promote the idea that players who hide their prestige level are more likely to have some reason for wanting to hide it and regardless of whether that was the case or not, some players would dodge them as a result which is exactly what hiding prestige is trying to cut back on.
Because hiding = very high level. At least in peoples mind. And I would think that as well tbh ๐ Not that I do lobby shopping by prestige, but that would be what I suspect of a player with optionally hidden prestige level.
-
@Emeal said:
I think that is crossing a consumer barrier, much better if you could press a button next to the other one to allow you to see store cosmetics. Like place the button next to the other one up here.
Yeah, maybe that. I would just like to try on and compare cosmetics while waiting for a game. It isn't possible to go to the store while waiting for a match to start, you get out of queue by doing so.
-
Something between 1 and 5.
Usually I try to adapt to the game and my team mates. Things I planned to do before game started, usually don't work out in the match anyways.
-
When I came back after a long break, i was shocked about what they did to the medkits. I think, at least the purple medkits maybe should have no penalty if it comes to selfheal. So I basically agree.
I would love to see Team mates in SoloQ more altruistic, using their medkits for mates. But it barely happens. I always use my medkits for others, if I am not in emergency myself, in hope they will use their medkit on me when time comes and I need a heal. It would speed up things and make Survs more efficient.. maybe Devs had this in mind, when they changed medkits. But as we can see, barely anybody uses their medkits for others. Which is sad.
But I would love to see some slight increase of selfheal for the Survivors side, may it be medkits or something else (buff selfheal perk slightly maybe..). Sometimes in SoloQ you can't rely on your team. Some Team mates run away from me when I beg them to heal me.
-
I would love to see the hook stages as a killer. So I don't tunnel accidentally. Especially if there are triplets or quadruples. (Which are Megs or Claudettes in most cases) :P
And since I love to hook everyone twice and let the last one escape (given the case I am in advantage at a game), sometimes it happens I can't remember whom of the last two living Survivors was the one with stage 1 and who was the one with stage 2. Sometimes I kill the one who already has been hooked twice, because I mess up :(
-
Thing is I mostly see biased-killer mains who never played more than 2 games of survivor so they just instantly reject any idea that makes unfair killer playstyle punished and balances the game :D
Yeah, I am not that. I play both roles nearly even. Most times go for the BP bonus and shorter queue times. They are both fun to me and I think myself as quite neutral on that, because I know the struggles and I face all the annoying things on both sides.
-
I never said survivors can't be annoying. I just said that in my experience slugging and 4l slugging is waaaaaay more annoying and infuriating than getting t-bagged
I thought we compared "Slugging the second last Survivor to find the last one" vs "Don't Slug them and be kept hostage as a killer". Now you compare Slugging vs t-bagging, which is something totally different. You just threw in there.
I was trying to show which scenario is worse in my opinion.
As a Surv: being slugged for three minutes without your suggested "basekit-bt". For the killer: *second last Survivors stands up with his basekit unbreakable and as a revenge the two remainings Survs hold the killer hostage, hiding and lengthen the game*. Just compare three minutes of being slugged, to a maybe much longer time the killer isn't able to find the last two hiding.
Also, basekit BT would make "bullying the killer" easier overall.
Of course I played killer but I never wanted to slug anyone just to get a 4k instead of a 3. So what if the last one gets hatch or opens the gate? I got a 3k=I won already.
I get that, and I am on the same side. But when we discuss something like BasekitUB, we have to see the whole playerbase.
So, I still stick to my opinion to make playing "fair" or hooking the second last survivor more attractive, instead of punishing the killers wish to get a 4k.

Your post seems a little one-sided to me. Did you spend some thinking on the killers side as well?
"Bleeding the third one out and holding them hostage" you say. It seems like the time it takes to bleed out is considered long enough to get the chance for help, but also short enough to not be "kept hostage" and go for another game after bleeding out. How long does bleeding out take? Four minutes? Three? I am not sure. When I play Survivor, it sure feels uncomfortable, but after rolling eyes I go for a new match.
Now on the other hand, killer who doesn't slug the second last survivor to search for the last.. How long can he be "held hostage" (just sticking to your wording) by the last two survivors? Hiding in lockers, just taking a small action every few minutes so they don't get crows, makeing no noise, not going for the last gens to repair?
Don't get me wrong, both sides are uncomfortable if faced. But I think it's easier for two remaining Survs to stretch the game for the killer, keeping him in the game, than it is for the killer with two survs left. The Survivors are at least able to get out of the game by bleeding out, in a reasonable time frame. Even if game is lost after that.
I would love to see a solution for kind of unsportsmanlike gameplay like this not by pampering one side and stir up the "us vs them" discussion. I would rather like to see some rewards for players being "fair". Be it only, that they are doing something about the thumbs up system, giving more BP for playing with good manners and so on.. The old Barbecue and Chili for example at least, which gave BP for "not camping" kinda.
But aside from this, I don't even consider being slugged as second last Surv "unfair". For me it's part of the gameplay and a strategy a killer should be able to use. Using a surv as a bait for me is kind of strategic gameplay. If exaggerated, it sure can be annoying but that's why Survs bleed out, so at least you are not at this state for too long, if you don't like it.
-
Did you see live streams or just videos? Can be, that the names are taken out afterwards by Video edit.
-
I used it before, and will use it again now. It was a relief without flashlights for me, I hate them. And I was able to run another perk. But now, back to lightborn.
At morning or noon I usually don't use it. But in the evening, especially on weekends, I do. Whoever plays killer on Friday and Saturday evening or night knows what I am talking about. And on some days, when I feel oversensitive, I even run my "Anti-Bully-Build" with LightBorn, IronGrasp, StarStruck and something else to add up, maybe Hangman's Trick or NOED.
-
I go for p1 on every surv for a "basekit for everyone" and then I will max out (until there are no more perks in bloodweb) the 2-3 survs I wanna play. Same goes for killer.
If you have p1 on surv A, his Perks can still appear as rank II and rank III in the bloodweb of all other survs. So having p1 on everyone is making my "main Survs" getting their tier3 perks anyways.
Sorry, english is not my native language hope you understand my big masterplan :D
Other than perks I usually go for the addons I like to use, I am not switching addons on killers often. If I find a fun way to play, usually I stick to the same Addons for a long while. So I try to avoid the ones which I might never use.
-
I'm also on Tome 1 and need to do the "sacrifice 4 surivors in basement" challenge at some point... so please wait for that :D
This one's bugged for me, never counts :(
-
I think it's still not useless. For example: Killer leaves hook, team is on the other site of the map. I can save them time/let them do gens if I unhook myself.
-
I can say that "NOED" is overpowered and needs a nerf because it is paired with "No Way Out".
I don't think that NOED is overpowered, since it's endgame only and it is gambling a bit, since all totems could have already been cleansed by then. Also, if I remember correctly, the totems Aura didn't reveal/expand a few years ago when I played. So it has been kinda nerfed already? I don't remember if it was displayed as a hex totem already from the beginning before, but the expanding thing is new as far as i regcognize. Changes have been made, that's for sure.
For "Hope" goes the same in my opinion; it's endgame only. So you run the most time of the game "with three perks only", just like the killer does with NOED.
My opinion is that perks like these which work only for a short ammount of time have to be powerful. And also, they make the endgame a more thrilling experience and can turn the tide for either side.
-
I just don't go for them most of the times, since my thoughts are exactly the same: they are good loopers. And since I don't want to feel bullied, I search and hope for other survivors in the game who fit my skill level more ๐
But sometimes players like this even follow further. Like I already hear the footsteps behind me, when carrying someone to hook. And then there it is: the bodyblock. And sometimes even another surv is close to the hook as well, out of the blue and they blocking it and blocking it. And at this point, Internally, I've come to terms with the fact that I probably can't take more than one person out of the game. This behaviour of the people is something which makes me slightly furious inside, but I try not to fall for it and just go on gameing and still trying to have fun. Sometimes it's just swf I guess. And they have this one team member who is especially good at looping and this is the one trying to get your attention :P
-
Baffling that some people still think that communication is the main strength of SWFs
I never played the game with friends, always solo. But I really think this is the main strength of SWF. What else is it, do you think? Maybe you can teach me better, since I just know the SWF from the killers side. Always knowing where the killer is and where he goes next without having to use Perks for it (same goes for team mates, their exact position and so on..) - yes I consider this the main strenght of SWF.
If things became a problem perhaps we could have languages accepted to play with or spoken for matchmaking
That would be great. Since "developing" or "learning" languages by just playing with french or balkan people f.e is nothing I could make use of, since I don't even know the basics of these languages.
Easy (sorry just copy and pasting answer above)
np, my response overlapped with your answer :P didn't read it by then.

That might be good in the us, but here in europe, i often play with russians, with whom i dont even share a common alphabet. You have lots of people in europe that dont speak english, and there is no way to communicate with them even with an ingame voice chat. That means you would just throw those people under the bus, because you balanced the game for a level they cant play it on.
No, i think it would do way more harm.
I still think its better to seperate swf and solo queue and balance both seperatly.
You've got a point there. I play on Europe as well, can't read the cyrillic letters. Also it seems, many people don't speak english very well. When it comes to writing, it is okay for most people. But talking and understanding english to and from people whose native language is not english, is hard. Maybe this is one of the reasons, voice chat isn't already implemented in the game?
A solution to this would be to spread the Server/Regions more. But this would make the waiting times for matches very long I guess.
Seems there is no simple way to fix these issues ๐

I am one of those persons who would rather mute most of the times, but still I think this is a reasonable suggestion. Since this game will never get rid of comms/swf who communicate over voice which is giving the killer a hard time, bhvr should at least add this to the game, too. But clearly not without balanceing the killer around this afterwards. If they would just add this without further changes, things would get even worse.
The big gap between playing against a Soloqueue Survivor Team or playing against a group who use voice is what has always annoyed me the most at this game as a killer. The Infos Survivors get on the HUD nowadays (who of your mates is doing what) is already a step in the right direction, but it is still not enough to close the gap between swf and solo.
