I play both sides and I think it's fine. It's up to the unhooked survivor if he uses it to prevent the savior from a hit. But he can't complain about being chased again after this move of his. As a Survivor, I sometimes block/take the hit if I think it's worth it or protect the unhooker if I think he is a better player than me, but then I am totally fine with being "tunneled" after this.
When playing killer, my thoughts are just the same. If I think it's worth it, I try to chase the unhooked person again. But most times I just keep following the savior, feels okay the unhooked person at least got a deep wound which keeps him occupied a few seconds at least.
-
Have to say, I am bad at chases as a Survivor. But the question is; how can I improve or practice? There are no BOT games against killers. Sometimes I go into a match with the intention of "getting better at chases" and use Perks like MFT, Troubleshooter, Windows of opportunity.. just to get better at it and trying to learn about maps. But if I get matched to killers who are just way better than me, downing me in 20-30 seconds, there is not much learning for me. It's hard to improve. Also feeling sorry for mates in my team who are better at chases and got matched with a member like me who is below average. I honestly admit, that I am the reason "things go down fast at the beginning", if I run into the killer in early game.
That Bill is something can laugh about. Seeing things like that happen often, as well. At least I can say I am not THAT stupid anymore. Sometimes when I crouch at pallets when downed, somebody is close by, trying to heal me, killer comes for us.. guess what happens? Both surv are down 99% of the time. I would try to hide and wait to give killer the pallet when he picks me up but it barely happens.
Well, I just wanted to throw in, that "bad Survs" maybe not satisfied with a situation like this as well. I can understand the point of good players being upset about bad team mates. But like... it's not their fault getting matched with good people. Nor do they (or at least me) prefer this. I would love more matches on equal level of killer and all the team mates, instead of getting carried by a "nanny". This would make more room for improvement and getting good as a "baby survivor".
I do what I can. Reading about killer powers or try them myself,(my performance as a Killer is better than Surv, btw), try to assimilate where exactly gens can be so I don't have to search for a long time, and so on.. But the chases themselves? Those are learning by doing, no? Hard to get there.
-
Glad to read this. Bought Alien yesterday, went for a BOT-match and a real match after this with the new killer and something felt wrong. I felt very stupid, I thought it was on my side, being to noobish for this killer or my aim to poor and was a little bit sad. Put him mentally aside already, thinking; "well, at least I got the perks for my money".. good thing I can give it a new try after some sort of fix.

Most likely at the Halloween Event, around end of october.
-
I already faced LORD SLUG just a few minutes ago in Solo Queue.
It made me laugh hard. I thought we got what we deserved because we intentionally started chase with nurse instead of doing gens. (From my side, I wanted to do a "blind the killer 6 times" tome,). So i was kinda laughing about myself. And I love how we crouched all together and made this cuddly mountain. ❤️ These girls gave a meaning to the last minutes of my life as a Jeff.

Why should hatch spawn earlier? It used to do that and got removed because it was stupid to be openend with keys when not all gens where done because the killer could do nothing about it.
Maybe I didn't play that time or forgot about it, sorry then. Just came back after a long break. My thoughts on this were, that maybe it kept the last 2 Surv from hiding and hoping the other one gets killed first, which I see very often these days. Was just a brainstorm. (or brain fart maybe 🤭).
-
but people like their 100+ win streaks
Ist this anywhere to be seen or are those "win streaks" just personal checklists the players keep for themselves? Just wondering, since I read about "winning streaks" a lot on here.
-
How about spawning hatch if there are 2surv left and more than two gens are still to be done? That would make the two remaining survivors at least search for hatch and not make them hiding and lenghten the game anymore.
Last Survivor would have to open one of the exit gates after hatch was used, without having to complete the remaining gens.
The basekit Whispers when 2 survivors are remaining (maybe after a certain ammount of time has passed) sounds good as well.
-
Sometimes I have big issues finding the last remaining two Survs, if there are still 2-3 gens need to be done. Might be because I am not that good at this game, but oh boy I had games going on 5-10 minutes with two remaining Survivors, because both just hide and never come out. This is the case often.
Whenever I play Surv I just stick to doing objectives and if the Killer get's me and my hiding team mate get's hatch.. I don't care much. At least this is more fun than waiting unneccesary long time for the game to end and hope he find my team mate first.
I can't think of a good solution on this for both sides. Maybe change Hatch somehow, yes... or make gens pop faster, if there are only two Surv left, dunno. It just annoys me, that Survs (being it mates in a surv game or opponents in a killer game) act this way, making the game more boring and lenghten it for everyone.
-
That would make a funny ingame event once or twice a year! Totally imbalanced but something you could try out just4fun. 1v4 matches of course should not be turned off, while the event lasts. Just make it optional.
Myers + Ghostface would be a combo I would love to see as a Survivor. For the killer side, I would love to team up my Pig with Sadako or Freddy, or my Hag with Trapper.
And imagine all Surv take same Character/Cosmetics. Like 8 times blendette or smth like that.
-
Will there be significant changes?
I don't think they will change anything about the flashights(?) because they were taken off because of bug/exploit in combination with something else, and not because something was wrong about using them for what they are meant for.

I play nice because it's how I want to play. Not because i'm desperately seeking validation from random strangers on the internet. My ego isn't so fragile that I genuinely get upset over people repeatedly crouching at me.
That's the spirit! I get closer to this, but sometimes "sweat teams" still bring up my blood pressure. Working on fixing this 😁

Yesterday I considered giving hatch/exit to the last existing survivor, since he kept me busy half of the match, while others were able to do gens. I thought; this Surv deserves the escape. On EGC he kept looping me and decided to put some t-bags in, which he didn't do before. So I thought; nah, if i get him, i will just hang him. And i finally got him and hooked him. After chat he said: "Such a boring game, n00b killer l2p!". I wonder if he would have told me the same if he escaped. And somehow I was glad I managed to hook him after that sentence of his.
Then what should you do then?
Most times I just try to be fair. I barely camp or tunnel (besides it is only 1gen left or so). Depending on mood, I let some escape, sometimes not. And some days I just turn off the Chat completely. It really is situational. But the one thing I can tell you; since I try to don't care that much about the outcome of the game and consider mocking comments as childish behaviour, just roll eyes about it and close chatr (sometimes even laugh about) this game is a lot more fun to me.
-
I love the passion you put into describing the Velociraptor. And I'd say; why not. Something different, maybe.
At this high variety of killers, there is something appealing for anyone to pick. Even though some people might think it's goofy, others might be real Jurassic Park fan boys and party hard when a killer Dino would be released.
-
I often see killers disconnect and matches ending within the last week, even when they are clearly winning. So i considered it wasn't on purpose. When I play killer it never happened to me, but saw it happen to the killer when playing surv. It happens mid or end game.
Wonder what's the cause 🤔
-
Today i saw two Survs who had Flash lights equipped at the loadout and brought them into the game, using them. Thought they were back already. Don't know how they managed to do this.
Besides that, i love the time out of Flash lights for the moment. It takes pressure off my games as killer.
The t-bags don't hurt that much without clicky clicky 😂 - it's a relief!
-
I get the same thing, I'm getting lots and lots of brand new players mixed in, especially since Xeno. New players pouring in, we vets have to just do our duty.
I feel kind of adressed, when I read this. I am sorry for these guys. I just started playing DBD again when Alien Chapter came out and I often see myself in matches with mates who are far better in chases than me. I am often the Survivor who can't stand 30 seconds of a chase, while there are sometimes mates who are in a chase with the killer for minutes!
So i want to say sorry for that 😂 believe me, if I had to decide, I would prefer not to be my team mates burden. (though not feeling sorry for them if they mock me after game for being "n00b", "baby" or whatsoever).
But as said, still on the other hand even I get matches with surv mates even worse than me. Lottery.
-
I face very mixed up situations as well. I would consider myself not that high skilled, maybe average as a killer and slightly worse as surv. But I always do my best. As surv, sometimes I get team mates even worse than me, sometimes I get mates way better than me and feel missplaced somehow. It feels totally mixed up and like a lottery to me.
Same as a Killer. (I always play the role which gives Bonus BP, so I play both roles). There are situation where I could get easy 4k because Survivors just don't do much and run straight shift + w, not even trying to avoid anything. On the other hand I have matches where I feel bullied and just get stomped by survivors in no time lol
But I have to say.. I just came back to DBD few weeks ago. Last time I played was 2021 and I've got the feeling it was even worse by then and got better a little bit.
Still not satysfying tough. The biggest deal regarding this issue for me is the toxicity of people. Nearly half of the matches which are toally "mixed up" skill-wise result in a toxic comment made in the after chat. Especially love it, when squad tells me "boring, l2p!" after game chat. What the hell you think I am doing here? Not my problem if I get rolled in your pro-gamer group game as a mediocre Killer 😂
-
Me, playing Survivor and killer both at the same time, I don't see 'slugging' as a bad behaviour.
There is DS, maybe. There is the chance to be picked up by another nearby survivor. Maybe I run unbreakable..
When I play survivor I am always thankful to the killer to let me slug and when I play killer sometimes I decide to slug someone because - he already was on hook and I hit him right after. Or I just think there is something more important to do and go to a far away gen and let survivors use time by ressurecting the slug.
So yeah - I don't really get why "slugging" is so frowned upon by most players.
But I have to say, when I play killer I usually don't camp the slugs. I just let them be because I have something more important to do or because I want to give them another chance/lenghten the game.
-
Just an example.
And not only they were way higher ranks, no, they were all playing together and always clicky clicky and bodyblocking me on hook and stuff. So, what is fair now?
And I get groups like this 90% every evening I play as a killer.
-
Replace the red 4 with a grey 18 and I already got the same group as a rank14 killer. What I want to say is: "someone is always worse off"
-
We don't see this in your piece of video. And I already learned as a killer playing in the evening against swf: try to camp and slug the hell outta them!
That's not how I like the game, but that's the best thing you can do. I don't blame killers camping or slugging. I blame Survivors being toxic in their swf.

They purposely avoided a chase to go back to hook and said "i don't want to loop"
If that's not camping idk what is
In my opinion, "camping" is standing at the hook right after you hooked the surv. The killer in the video even tried to do something else, but they don't give him another choice than to go back to the hook. Why should he follow this surv around that big loop, when he could go back and snack the savior.
-
I don't see any "camping" in this piece of video you posted there. But yes, 'I don't wanna loop 'cause all you wanna do is loop' is one thing every killer should always say to himself.

It may change with rank rewards, but generally unless you're a stealth boy or just uber aggressive to an obnoxious point, my goal is to two hook everyone and then pseudo-farm (chase/hit/slug). Everyone gets points, everyone gets a serious enough game, I get no complaints playing this way and though you won't max out, you'll still get close to 30k per game (not including bbq or bp offerings) doing this.
Okay, since I am a baby killer playing in the eve I can only dream of "two-hook everyone and then pseudo-farm". That's not what I am talking about. But I agree with everything you say. I don't need to sacrifice every Survivor. Getting more BP as a killer anyways.
The "force someone to farm" thing makes it complicated for me as well. If I get it right, you can not force everyone to farm as a killer. Only as a Survivor, if you point out the locations of the others or bodyblock your survivor mate.
But as a Killer? The killer I faced who wanted to farm just stand there and sometimes hit someone but did not come very close and did hook just two people and destroyed pallets. I think there is no way as a killer to force people to farm. Besides "facecamp", which isn't reportable anyways.
But yeah, I feel confused about this topic now that I've got all your answers more than before xD
Maybe I think too much about it?
I mean, i don't want to get reported if I consider farming. But who knows how many times I got reported for being a baby killer or something else. If I get the after-chats right within the last six weeks I was reported at least 10 times. For being afk, for depip, for farming, for tunnelig and camping.
Can't do everything right.
-
I would not report it, but maybe someone else? A few days ago someone told me in chat, that he will report me for being an "afk killer who just wants to depip", because I was lazy after a few flashlight stuns and stuff.
Is there any source where some devs said something about that? It's just that it's a bp week now and I don't want to do anything against the rules, if i face someone who wants to do that or maybe I would even consider to go for it as a killer myself, just if it is allowed.

The best way to find it when it's open (and you don't know where it is) is by sound.
^^^this. It took me two weeks of playing Survivor until I recognized, that the hatch makes a sound. Can't describe it. Sounds... shiny. And you hear it already from a distance.
-
I am not that good at being a Killer, but I love my Hag. When I started playing two months ago, I only used the free Killers for a while. Thought that Hag would be "Hard to play", didn't really face any as a Survivor, too. But then I just pulled out some money and bought a few Killers, just tried Hag and now I love her. I guess maybe I love her because I am not that good at loops and chasing. The traps handle that part for me.
I love her especially with the chains addon or an addon where you see the Aura of survivors after they walk on a trap.
Another Killer I really like is pig. Just because of the "style" and the bear traps. Just for the saw feeling.
-
That's a thing I would appreciate. Within the last days, I learned to love lightborn - didn't level Hillbilly earlier, so I could use it on my Hag.
Would love to know if I can switch it to something else. Otherwise I will always use it as a precaution, even if it's not needed. Because, sometimes you get this:
Damn, that was a fun match I can say! That Perk is just a relief in a case like that. But feels like a waste, if there is no clicky clicky involved.
Btw I would love to be able to switch killer in Lobbies, too. Sometimes I want to face different itemcombos with different Killers. I often feel "aww damn why didn't I pick the other killer.."
-
How would a survivor becoming one-shot by t-bagging be realistic?
His balls smash the floor, so he gets on the floor into dying state, because of how much that hurts?
-
I doubt any moral karma will be added, until killers who hit you on the hook are smitten into the ground by the tentacles of spider daddy god.
I always laugh when I see that because I imagine a 12 year old pimple faced boy who is so angry smashing the attack button.
Other than that, this "overconfidence" thing with teabagging and clicky clicky makes me angry for some reason. I feel like people want to ruin my fun intentionally by doing this.
I started using lightborn on the killers I play often and it was wery satisfying the first time some clicky clicky swf group tried to blind me and I just stared at them.
-
Yet for whatever reason when I swap to Killer, I get mostly bad matches - rank 6's and lower against my rank 12 Killer.I guess that's because if a group of 2 or more Survivor friends come together, it messes up the ranks. Since there is no Problem for three red rank friends to bring their rank 16 friends, it's all messed up. I don't know what the game does, guess it's looking for an "average" rank killer?
Like.. the average of 2, 2, 5, 18 ist.. 12? And there you go, level 12 Killer against "swat".
About five minutes ago I had another of these wonderful games with me as a Killer. Clicky clicky, teabag.. defending the lowest player with bodyblocking and so on. And after the game I read in chat "lol noob billy" or whatsoever. It's just not fun. I want to play against people wo are just the same nooblevel as me. I know they are out there!
Gave up for today. Maybe toxic Survivors are a reason for lack of killers as well, dunno?
And yes I know I am a crybaby.😥

It’s because roughly between the hours of 5:30pm and 9:30pm has a great deal of hardcore dedicated red rank SWF groups. That in itself isn’t terrible, but a great deal of them also play in an incredibly obnoxious way, and do things to intentionally incite frustration in the killer.
It’s just not fun.
So many long time killers simply wont log on during those periods.
They’ll either join the long queues as survivor, or play an entirely different game.
I totally agree with this.
Started playing DBD again after years, 250 hours within the last four weeks now. I play a lot, every day. Playing Killer and Survivor, just the one with the shortest waiting time. Both around rank 10-12 now. And I am fed up with the 'Swf squads' and their behaviour now. I tend to only play Survivor the early day and play something else in the evening. Especially on weekends. So I am one Killer less for the Survivors and I guess I am not the only one fed up with three people bodyblocking you on the hook, two Flashlights always there at the right time when I downed someone, unnecessary lenghten the game, teabagging athe the exit gate and after every dropped pallet from rank1 Survivors. I am all grown up and faced a lot of hard times in my reallife but I have to admit yes, this 'toxic gameplay' annoys me, so I just start to avoid it. I am a little bit mad I bought so many killers and happily wanted to try them. But the higher my rank gets (12 now for killer), the more often I face full groups of 4 friends. Rank 1,2,2,18 - something like that. They always know where I am. And yes, I get the points when people say "get better at the game". But maybe my cap of skill is reached. And I want the matchmaking to match me with people more around my skill level.
Killers should get a buff against a full swf group, to make up for them talking about where you are and they don't need Aura reading abilities. It feels unfair at this point.
So yeah. Solo Survivor is more fun atm than playing killing, so that is what I do. Even tough I would really like to have fair matches as a Killer again. And I am not talking about winning, I am talking about giving effort to the game and feel like it was fun for everyone in the end. Don't care if I hook only one surv or all four, as long as it felt balanced for everyone. So that I can say "Everyone had the same chances", after the game.
-
Since swf has no need for "Aura reading" and always know where the killer is and talking to each other, I would buff a Killer who faces 4 groupmates. Something like a fifth perk to read Auras in these Situations. If they always know where the killer is, the Killer should be in the same position and know more where the swf guys are. For 'free'.
