  • Wow, what would I do?

Well there is Destiny 2 with the gang.

World of Warcraft Dragonflight is on its way.

Classic Wrath of The lich King is on its way.

Hogwarts legacy is on the way.

Slime Rancher 2 (my personal favourite)

    Total Warhammer 3

    DayZ

    Just a few to mention!

Trust me, Dead by Daylight ain't got jack on me, if this game died and vanished I wouldn't miss it for a second.

I already have taken breaks from Dbd in the past for months because how lame and repetitive the gameplay was. I only come back to try the new updates or play the event and then ditch or if I see a fun Build I wanna try out.

  • What I do to have fun is, I copy Monto's old wacky Survivor builds that are fun and never before seen!

I also like to mix and create my own builds that is focused on certain things, like my favourite build to create is the "For my Team" Build.

Where I go Borrowed Time + We'll Make It + Guardian + Prove Thy Self. It's my favourite build because it focuses around being a Support for my Team, with fast healing after unhook, giving Borrowed Time in case they get tunneled and Guardian on top just makes them so much more harder to catch after getting Unhooked.

It's just one of the many Support Builds I run, I have fun by playing for my Team.

  • I personally hate going up against Nurse, because there is not much you can do against her except try to dodge back and forth to mess her, but 90% of Nurse players my game don't miss.

So I changed my Steam name to "Nurse = DC", just because I hate playing a 2 minute game.

I agree about Dead Hard tho, I never ran that perk and its a dumb perk to have.

  • Landing a juicy trap on a Survivor with Trapper or playing Freddy and making a survivor thing the fake pallet was safe :)

  • Crazy that your games are good :O

Why I just had a game last night where I played as a Survivor and because I dropped the pallet on a Killer and stunned him, he went to camp my hook until I died and even smacked my body!

Or when I played Killer not too long ago as Trapper, end game lobby 2 Survivors talk smack to me saying "Get looped idiot lol ggez"

I guess you either just accept what ever happens to you in every game and all you do is just shrug it off and go next game patting yourself on the back saying it is what it is.

Or you are extremely lucky and only get the most chill Killers and Survivors in the entire server.

For someone saying Freddy is a fun Killer, your description sounded exactly like everyone else calling him unfun lol.

I would like to go back to Freddy one day, hope BHVR accidentally does something good one day and I’ll start getting my YT recommended box full of titles like (Freddy is Fun Again), (You’ll never Believe how they Fixed Freddy), or (Check out New NEW Freddy now!).

Yes, turning into a Survivors punching bag is not particularly fun :/

Much like being a Trapper main and watching all your traps getting removed or looping around the traps.

Fun Killer, just not fun anymore when people use the Killers weakness against them.

  • Freddy = Boring???

Have you been smoking the Fog or something? Freddy is one of THE fun Killers in the game!

His weakness is that he acts like a M1 Killer and his power really doesn't offer anything great, other than slowing the Survivors down just slightly or creating fake pallets much like the Doctor.

And do fully use your power against the Survivors, they need to be asleep or the snares and fake pallets wont even be there for the Survivors.

  • 1 Killer vs 4 Survivors and 5 Gens.

You chase and hook 1 Survivor, 3 are on 3 different Gens and get popped after getting your first hook, leaving only 2 Gens and still there are 4 Survivors left in a 2 Gen map...

Do you see the problem? The ratio of Survivors and Gens combined with the ratio needed to hook a survivor for a sacrifice?

  • @Orochi said:

DH aside, exactly what are Survivors supposed to do against camping and tunneling? These are literally the only defenses against the killers most OP and braindead strategies.

Although used for other gross purposes, DH can help against those strats too.

Then with that argument, what are M1 Killers suppose to do against Survivors who Gen rush and make the experience for the Killer miserable without giving a chance for the Killer to enjoy themselves?

Camping and Tunneling literally happens when the Killer sees that after getting 1 hook 2-3 gens are popped. You go after the next Survivor and another Gen gets popped and the hooked Survivor is unhooked and healing in a corner.

So in a span of getting 2 hooks a total of 4 Gens are already done and gone, leaving just one.

Do you know why Killers play Nurse and Blight? Because the insane mobility and power these Killers have that helps them turn a 2 minute chase into a 10 second chase and then they can run around to defend the other Gens.

So with that knowledge, what are Killers suppose to do to stop Survivors from popping 3 Gens at the start of the game? Gen regressing Perks? Hardly as effective because Hexes get destroyed, Scourge Hooks requires you to "hook" someone, which is a pain in itself when you are an M1 Killer with no gap closers.

Or should the Killer just smack a Survivor and immediately leave them and start running towards a Generator, while the injured Survivor heals. A back and forth running and smacking without hooking.

And the experience is always awful for a Killer when you get lucky and down a Survivor before a Gen popped and as you get a good down the rest of the Survivors just dictate they dont wanna play that match anymore, so they purposefully throw the game and get themselves sacrificed or just DC as soon as the game doesnt turn into their favour.

Camping and Tunneling is a way to make the game more balanced for the Killer, you remove 1 player effectively slowing the rate at which Gens are being done and slowing the unhooks.

How is it a fair number to have 5 generators, 4 Survivors, 1 Killer? You chase 1 Survivor and 3 are on 3 different Gens, they get popped and 2 are left? How are those numbers fair?

For camping and tunneling to stop there is only one solution and that is to increase the amount of Generators that are needed to done, so you as a Killer have time to chase a Survivor around the map for 2 minutes without losing all your Gens.

I don't know about you, but I actually see a good amount of Trapper and Clown both. And they are usually very difficult to play against.

So Killer mains who make threads about Clown being weak or Trapper being unplayable are just talking out of their keyhole? Including content creators with thousands of hours included?

Hey I see and had games where I escaped from a Nurse and Blight, doesn't mean my couple personal experiences is the utmost highest experiences of every collected human being on the planet.

You get good games and then you get terrible games.

It only starts to become a problem when you see discussions being made about the same topic over and over and over again. Discussions that are being made by people with thousands of hours in the game that see a problem.

  • I hope so! Believe me I truly hope so!

Because then we can finally see the return of some iconic favourite Killers like Trapper, Pig, Freddy, Clown and more!

Believe me, I'm not a fan of Nurse or Blight. I think those two Killers are way too much, but the current game is situated in this crappy spot where if you really want to 4k as a Killer and not get bullied by good Survivors, you need to play a Killer thats good.

  • @JudithMorel said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3036173#Comment_3036173

Slightly below the Nurse MMR is the Blight/Blight/Blight/Nurse/Nurse/Blight MMR.

And every single MMR is DS, Dead Hard and Borrowed Time. No matter what MMR you play atleast 2 or 3 Survivors have those Perks.

  • @Veinslay said:

Maybe you'd see more Ghostfaces and Trappers or something if they weren't getting teabagged and flashlight clicked the entire game because they're hilariously underpowered compared to Nurse and Blight. Survivors only want to play against a killer they can run for 5 gens, not one that can actually compete with 4 man SWF baby mode

Trapper...My God I have not seen my beautiful Trapper in ages!

By far my most favourite Killer, but sadly I cant play him because of the amount of ridicule and suffering every Trapper needs to endure...

Traps are basically useless because any good Survivor will immediately know how to disable his power, with his power gone he is just an M1 Killer.

Last time I played Trapper during this event I got flashlight clicked and spammed by Survivors to come and chase them, before all my traps got popped and 3 Gens were done by the time I got my first hook.

Such fun, very interactive and fun gameplay to suffer immensely just because I wanted to play my favourite Killer again.

Apparently chill and fun time is only allowed for Survivors, but God forbid you wanna play Trapper or Pig you are throwing a 50 50 coin toss hoping that you get lucky and face against bad Survivors so you can enjoy yourself.

Oh and the cherry on top of the damned cake is when they escape, they have the audacity to type in your direction and say "gg ez lol bad Killer lol, get looped cx"

  • Add more Gens and slow the speed at which Gens are being done. Fixed!

You know how bad it is to chase 1 survivor while 3 are doing a gen and once you down and hook your first survivor, atleast 2 or 3 gens go off?

  • The real problem why tunneling is happening and why Killers have to resort to shameful acts is because of how pathetic Gen speeds are.

You chase 1 survivor while all 3 are on a Gen and by the time you finally hook the survivor you chased 2-3 gens get done.

The problem has always been about Gens, nothing more nothing less.

The amount of gens need to be upped by 1 or 2 to actually have a longer game and let the Killer have enough time to go for other survivors, rather than stop everything and make sure that 1 survivor dies as fast as possible, just to make the game more fair for the Killer.

Remember that you are a single Killer vs 4 different players who can co-ordinate and each of them have their own builds and items + addons.

Again, if you want tunneling to completely stop, then the game needs to be slowed down for the Killer to actually want to go for other survivors and try and hook them, before 3 Gens get popped.

  • Never used it either on my Survivor, either Lithe or Sprint Burst over here <--

Nothing screams like fun when you see all 4 survivors have Dead Hards....

  • Just finished a match as Legion and boy let me tell you how fun it was!

I was up against 3 borrowed times and 4 Dead Hards, oh and also! 2 of them had the borrowed time med-kit item to tank another hit from me!

I got spam flashed basically telling me "Hey Killer look at me, come chase me haha lol"

What an amazing game, where not a single survivor is afraid of the Killer! Truly an astounding game. Survivors running around tanking a total of 3 hits before getting a single one down and not only does one of them have the power to tank 3 hits, but 2 of them can!

Now imagine if all 4 of them had 3 hit lives!

I guess as a Killer I just need to play better right? Mind game them better right!

Absolutely unbalanced to be a solo Killer vs SWF that have comms and know exactly where to go and when to save.

Release a pure Solo mode with no SWF and a separate mode if you wanna que as SWF.

  • I came back to try out the new Legion (since its my main Killer) and I got bodied...

Didnt matter that I had Thanatophobia to slow the game down or Tricksters Exit blocking perk to stop them from escaping, still managed to get looped around, body blocked, borrow time and dead hard clutches everywhere and god forbid the amount of pallets there are...

There is a clear balancing issue between Killers and Survivors, clearly!

Every top mmr Killer is complaining how frustrating the games can be if Survivors know what they are doing and where all the pallets are and windows and what makes its 10 times more frustrating is when they are SWF and are on voice...

I have yet to see or hear from a high mmr survivor complain how frustrating it is for them as a Survivor.

Laughing, giggling and throwing jokes around while tbagging the Killer every chance they get.

Also remember that when ever you run out of pallets or are far away from windows, just hold W until you reach the corner of the bloody map.

Pair that up with a couple hook distance offerings and you wont get a hook...

  • @xili84 said:

Meanwhile when I try to camp at high MMR, the SWF will just pop 5 gens before the guy hits 2nd stage hook. Then rescue him and make a bodyblock train to the exit gate. GG.

This is what should happen even outside of SWF.

If a Killer camps and sits on the hook, punish that playstyle.

  • Here's a nifty buff for Ruin or any Hex Totem for the matter.

What if a Hex totem does not spawn after a minute has passed? Can be less or more time, I will leave you to think what's a fair time.

And the Hex effect still continues like normal, it's just hidden from everyone and then be cleansable after X time.

  • Didn't they nerf Boon Totems to no longer stack?

One Totem can be Booned by 1 player and if a new Totem is booned the old one snuffs out. And if the person that Boons a totem gets hooked or killed the Boon is snuffed out also.

And I noticed this, Survivors in Solo Que are purposefully destroying totems just so it can't be Booned.

So I dropped a few pallets nearby and missed skillchecks on gens.

You know, just to help out the Killer find us more easily.

I'm in no way a filthy survivor main who wants the game to be in Survivors favor, but no matter which side it is. If you go out of your way to ruin the game for others and spite because you want to be some wannabe Batman vigilante.

Then you better hope you know how to loop a Killer with 0 pallets left in the map.

Your first mention proves my point exactly. It was killers being able to bypass BT, one of the few anti-tunnel (not anti-camping) perks survivors have. And they still can, just by waiting out 12 or more seconds. It wasn’t changed to a radius activation range, but always triggering upon any unhook. The original BT was anti-camp and anti-tunnel, since it protected both the unhooker and the unhooked. But only worked once per match based on being in terror radius, which was very problematic for several reasons.

Old DS wasn’t abusable to me, as killers had the choice to slug a recently unhooked survivor. And either way you look at it, it still isn’t very anti-tunnel at all, so needs some better features and conditions if it’s going to remain a one-time use perk.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2637652#Comment_2637652

Ah yes, let me dedicate half my build every dang trial in case the killer decides to camp. And even with BT, the best outcome may be a hook trade; at worst, we both end up hooked or downed. And if it’s me being camped, hang there for 850 BP while my teammates get to earn minimal points and get out themselves. Real good advice, much thanks!

Sadly that's the state of the current meta.

I mean I even faced 80% of tunnelers and canmpers from Ash 4 all the way to Silver 4, ran nothing but Kindred the whole time.

And don't even bother running Borrowed Time, because they still go after the unhooked person even when they took a hit, they are adamant at tunneling and hooking the player off the game asap!

Literally best thing you can do when the Killer is camping and tunneling. Do gens as quick as possible. Get em done and open the exit gates, then try and go for a save and body block hits until everyone gets out.

Unless it's a Bubba, then you can forget about saving anyone. That chainsaw is impossible to avoid.

Remember that Killers who camp and tunnel for that 1k won't rank up at all, they will get 0 pip at best, but you will rank up if you do the gens and heal eachother.

It's just the sad truth, you just have to be lucky with your games and hope you are not the one being camped and learn some looping tricks to keep the Killer busy while the rest do Gens. Waste the Killers time as best as you can.

Running Windows of opportunity helps ALOT with knowing where to loop, you see exactly which pallets are still there and how many.

So my build is something like --> Kindred + Windows of opportunity + Boon: Circle of Healing + Lithe or Dead Hard

I've also run Monto's old Survivor Build which he called The Houdini Build. Really helped alot to make Killers lose me.

  • @Icaurs said:

So behaviour actually did something similar to what you proposed back in 2016 I think, this was back before the swivel hook and killers would block the unhook interaction. Survivors started looping the killer near the hooked survivors, essentially abusing the mechanic. Most ideas regarding tunnelling and camping have been tested at one point or another and either the killers or survivors abuse it.

In that case, just reduce the amount of bloodpoints the Killer get's for staying in a close proximity to the hook.

No need to block anything or give anyone immunity, just deduct points.

  • @KateMain86 said:

Nothing is more annoying than going against a killer who makes the game so miserable for you that you want out of it. I know thats not the case every time, but a lot of survivors do DC because the killer is being an absolute piece of you know what to them. How about focus on changing the game in a way that encourages survivors to stay in the match? Punishing survivors for not wanting to play the game is wrong.

And rob the Killer or Survivor from points?

Hey I get it, some games are just so god awful that you wanna leave and guess what, you can! nobody is forcing anyone to stay and endure 10 minutes of suffering.

But maybe others still wanna play it out? And get atleast some points from the horrible match.

Isn't it a tad bit selfish to que into a game and give everyone the expectation that a game went through only to have a leaver on your team or a Killer DC because they get salty that a Survivor made them look ridiculous?

I'm all for changing the game to be better and more fair for both sides, but taking away points from others is just not fair for the rest of the team.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2630468#Comment_2630468

Gen rushing is a cop out. It is an excuse for killers to justify camping and tunnelling. I am more a killer main then a survivor main. I have no reason to camp and tunnel most of the time. Yes there are a few times when you are down to three gens and really need to lose a player, but by that time most players have been hooked once or twice, unless they are a hider.

If you are being gen rushed it's because you are spending too much time in a chase with a person who is better then you.

You have options, play a killer with quick movement speed to get from one gen to another, this way you can pressure gens, especially with ruin and another perk that slows gen progress. If not make sure you kick gens. Go a bit more stealth and work on getting the first hit early and make sure you force them to drop pallets and break every one. Try to make them three gen themselves, then patrol these three gens, especially good with hag because you can set traps around them. Get these out early on and the later gain is harder because of less loops. If you fail add Noed and No way out. It gives you time for one hits while they try to get the gate open. Another option is to go for pig, put traps on, this slows the gens for fear of heads exploding.

There are teams that will get gens done quickly and escape, but remember that you get more bloodpoints. XP and emblems if you hook more then they escape, then if you hook one and tunnel one. I am not saying that if the injured survivor that has just been rescued is like a deer in headlights, don't get the hook, just run away, although I have slugged them and gone off, leaving them to heal if the team is bad, just don't make it a priority.

This is what the majority of Killer mains need to learn and understand.

If one Survivor is looping you forever and you can barely catch unto the Survivor, drop the chase and patrol the Gens.

  • Hey I'm absolutely fine and happy if I manage to get a 1k or 2 k. Not every Killer game is gonna be a 4k and it's more clear and obvious at higher Ranks.

    Just aslong as even after that 1k - 2k it's a +1 rank.

  • @jesterkind said:

    Yeah, the counterplay is boons.

Or, if you don't have/like boons, do bones and remember where you did them so you can go do them again.

    This pretty much.

Survivors need to learn how to be more aware of their surrounding and do other stuff rather than immediately dive bomb a Gen.

The game is meant to be more than just hold M1 on a Gen and forget about the rest.

  • Absolutely amazing!

More Gen slowdown Perks is what this meta needs, since all 5 gens get done in 6 minutes of the game and chases are way too long to compensate for that.

I think this is the right way to go and I'm loving the new Rekindle Totem Perk and making sure the Totems don't break if you manage to get all 5 rekindled. But on it's own when you get 1 Rekindle and get that 30% reduced speed on Gens, in my opinion that single Rekindle benefit is enough. Combine that with Thanatophobia maybe and you have yourself a longer match and more chances for the Killer to get into chases.

My only concern is that, does the Rekindle work on Blessed Totems? Because if it doesn't work on blessed totems and only on destroyed totems, then a hard counter to this Killer Perk is to just never destroy totems :/

But so far I'm loving the direction where B.H.V.R is going. We need more mechanics to "slow the game down just a little bit"

  • And then abuse the system by boosting eachothers ranks?

  • @Hunter_Main_322 said:

What if the survivor who was rescued did not leave traces and blood for 60 seconds (without the presence of some kind of perk)

Just sew this into the hook mechanic

    That sounds way too much!

Not even the Perk Guardian gives the saved Survivor that long of a invisibility.

The irony here though, if the guy didn't just M1 on gens, Hexy would have probably camped him and then said gg

That's his shameful playstyle if he wants to camp or not.

But man is it infuriating to see how 2 kills is not atleast a single point of rank up.

  • New David Dead Hard!

It is definitely not a few of the population. I never see a team win against a decent Blight. When Blight is clearly way above the rest, he needs a nerf. The killer can still get kills without slowdown perks. It causes killers to be too OP that don't need them use them.

Don't worry, knowing Behaviour there will be nerfs for Blight, since Survivors run the game.

    Especially lower ranked Survivors...

  • Ruin and Pop stacks??? What?

Just from that quote alone I can tell you don't play Killer enough to know what their Perks do. And how can you even complain about Ruin? With the new Boon Totem Meta, everysingle Totem in the map gets Booned within the first 2 minutes of the game before you can even get any value from Ruin, so you as a Killer are playing with 3 Perks only.

God forbid if you play with more Hex Perks!

And why are you against Slowdown Perks in the first place? Do you want the match to be over in 6 minutes or something?

The Killer's objective is to get 12 hooks total to get a 4k and the Survivors need only 5 Gens + Exit Gate. You as a Survivor (playing with Higher ranked Survivors) complete 2 Gens in 1 single chase, 3 Gens if your team is spread out and everyone is on a Gen while one person gets chased. (Trust me, I have seen this happen. This has happened to me, a bunch of Killer main streamers and I've seen this happen when I was playing Survivor)

Just because you and a few population of the Survivor base is struggling to deal with a Blight, doesnt mean "Hey lets buff Survivors so they can easily counter Blight" but oh wait. Not every Killer is a Blight.

B.h.V.R. need to do the mechanics of punishing the killer for tunneling and camping

If he decides to attack the same player in a row, then for each blow, 1 generator is automatically repaired

For camping, the repair speed is doubled

After 5 seconds at the hook, deduct 1,000 blood points per second

Did you literally read nothing of what I said about how unfair the game is for the Killers and proceeded to just talk how Killers should be punished? All while ignoring the #1 problem for Killers, Survivors Gen rushing and doing 2-3 Gens after you get 1 hook?

  • @KateMain86 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2617142#Comment_2617142

The point was that if both sides can simply agree to play fairly (killers particularly) and not resort to toxic tactics then you'll have more people willing to play more often, like me and my friends.

Yet the game literally forces you to resort to toxic playstyles because how unfair it is.

Have you seen the state of the game at red ranks? Killers getting looped for 2 minutes and already 2-3 Gens are done!

You get your first hook and there is only 1 gen left...

Like how is that fair for a Killer? I'm all down to playing respectfully and not tunnel/camp anyone and infact I hate that myself because I know how annoying it can be.

And it's even more annoying when you play a Killer and get Survivor Friends that literally wanna make you uninstall the game completely.

I'm not saying I tunnel, because at higher ranks everyone in their mother runs DS or Borrowed Time or Insta med-kits, so again the game favors Survivors more and helps Survivors find ways to avoid getting tunneled to some degree.

I got called out by one survivor after I 4k'd them that me running Thanatophobia was the most scummy and un-fun thing, but as soon as I don't run it. 3 Gens get done after I get one lousy hook.

  • @Kiikii said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2617454#Comment_2617454

Yeah it's a huge reason why I run dying light but I hate the condition that it deactivates if the obsession dies. It's like all the hard work completely nulled out. Entirely wasting all the time spend on the build up. Why bother with a dead mechanic involving hexes not worth the slot when it can literally be gone in 5 seconds of a match.

    Pretty much this.

As a Killer you have to work extra hard to get the full benefit of some of your Perks. And while they are strong, it still takes time and when you are getting looped for 3 minutes straight by a single Survivor, yeah goodluck!

And absolutely no point using Hex Perks, going from 4 Perks to 3 Perks is just heart breaking...

  • I played a game of Legion with Thantophobia (4 stacks) at Red Ranks and one of the survivors who died typed what a pussy I was for running Thantophobia and making the game un-fun for the survivors.

Damn straight I'm gonna run Thanatophobia because it's 10 times better than Ruin because it can't be cleansed and removed from the game!

There is not a single point in using any Hex Perks because thanks to Boons, Totems are being farmed more than ever.

Totems no longer belong to Killers, it belongs to Survivors.

  • Something needs to be changed, because I saw the power of Boons personally when there were 3 gens close to eachother and Survivors had a boon on the other side of the map and went back and forth just touching the 3 gens, getting hit and running off to the Boon to heal back up and rinse and repeat that was the case, until I followed one long enough to snuff the boon totem, go after the injured survivor, but I lost my last gen.

Not only did I experience this, but I see red ranked Killers face off against this same playstyle over and over again.

  • Yet that's never the case with all Survivors. Some don't run to corners to hide until they Bless a totem again.

And I do get what you mean with impacting the core objective- generators, or shortening chases and so on, but in the majority Hex totems are removed almost instantly within the first 1-3 minutes of the game before it can even get value and effect the game in a meaningful way.

And the radius of a Boon totem is large enough on its own that it can cover an entire building and a little further more. With both Boon blessings on one Totem.

And DBD is a game where information such as blood marks, scratch marks and injured noises/and other noises is so crucial to find anyone.
