  • We will not stop necro this thread until we get an official statement.

  • @ThatRyanB Can we please get an official statement about the current quest system? Or maybe just a confirmation our complaints about it have been seen and reported to the dev team? Thank you.

  • Still waiting for an explanation from a dev team member about this absurd and downright disrespectful increase in the overall Rift grind.

Most of us have a life and a job and can't or don't want to play every single day you know.

  • Why aren't more people talking about this? These quests are beyond ridiculous

  • @DragonMasterDarren said:

I think he's 25 or so, maybe pushing 30, being old during that time and being in his line of work would be a death sentence, i don't think Caleb is all that old just from the fact that a 40 year old gunslinger in the middle of the Wild West is incredibly unlikely

In the Deathslinger's lore it is stated he began to work with Bayshore while he was 2 years old. Got out of prison when he was 6 and spent 3 years working for the Warden before killing him when he discovered he was working with Bayshore.

  • Swear to God, people always hype Huntress up way too much.

She defeated some farmers that were probably drafted into the war last minute with 0 military training or tactical knowledge whatsoever.

I mean, they weren't even using their rifles as far as we can see in her lore video. They just straight up rushed her point black like complete morons without even trying to shoot her.

One simple well-aimed bullet was all it was needed to kill her like every other human being, as she wasn't supernatural at all during the war and definitely not faster than a bullet.

Not saying she isn't skilled or dangerous, she definitely is a formidable foe but her success it's more on the idiotic and inexperienced soldiers than herself to be honest.

I believe Tarhos could easily kill her alone in a 1v1, let alone if there's also his 3 guards with him turning it into a 4v1... Huntress has no chance whatsoever.

  • The fandom wiki is the best for it. It has all the character's base lores + all the links to the tome lore associated with that specific character.

I just don't see the purpose of the hindered and exposed on full infection. Nemesis is weaker than him and his infection barely does anything, so I don't see the logic on a stronger killer having a stronger passive.

That's a problem with Nemesis tho not Wesker.

They need to buff Nemesis' infection to actually do something and be a threat for the survivors so they're forced to remove it like wesker does.

But I agree the hindered effect could be removed, but keep the exposed.

Does the Knight fall under Very Evil, you think? His lore has him as an unrepentant marauder, killing and torturing both for his goals and for pleasure. He actively sees honor and chivalry as pretense people use to hide more base motives that he embraces.

He definitely seems evil but not complete evil, as he sure didn't had an easy early life and seems capable of forming genuine friendship with other people like his 3 guards.

He's comparable to Oni imo, so a bit less evil than Trickster, Ghostface, Clown and Doctor.

its meant after the game dude. You die first, so you either waste time and wait to see perks. Or quit, not knowing what happened....

You could see the killers perks after dying years ago. They removed it because when 1 SWF died he could tell the others all the perks the killer had, even perks meant to be a final surprise tactic like noed, blood warden ecc.

Being able to see killer perks after dying is never going to come back as they probably cannot allow it for you as a solo player and not for the SWF group and thank God to that.

  • - Traps down you if you step on it while injured

    - Traps apply deep wound when you get free from it if you step on it while healthy

    - Give him a 24 meters terror radius

    - His traps spawn closer to the center of the map or close to generators

    - Make him start with 3 traps basekit

He would be a solid mid tier killer after all of this.

The Entity is capable of taking people from different timelines. The Entity can look into different universes and timelines and take the version of said character that best suits what it wants. We know it can do this due to Yui's tome. It also took the version of Cheryl after the end of Silent Hill 3 that went through the Good Ending. The version of Jill it took was a more inexperienced Jill (at least of RE's story) that had yet to accomplish all that she did throughout the RE games.

These characters are all real in The Entity's realm. They were taken from their own "Real World." To Feng, in her "Real World," the universe she originates from, Silent Hill and Resident Evil were just games that she played and loved. Then, The Entity takes her into its realm and later she starts running into real life version of horror icons like Myers and Laurie Strode. Only to later find she is able to "meet" real life versions of Jill and Cheryl, characters that (I assume) are her favorites.

In short, characters like Jill and Cheryl in The Entity's realm are taken from a universe where the events of their games were real. In Feng's home universe (like ours) Silent Hill and Resident Evil were just games. She has played them...cosplayed them...and is now surviving along side them.

Exactly, like the one Observer's tome video where he watches a version of Evan Macmillan that (probably) doesn't become the Trapper and is being chased by a giant spider that later manages to kill. Only for that event to be revealed to also be a fictional story written in a book.

Some events that are just fantasis like book stories, movies and videogames in some universes happen for real in others. That's why Feng can meet a real Jill from another universe.

  • Yes, it's the popular "Entity touched eyes" for Wraith, Hillbilly, Spirit and Deathslinger. They all might see someone else instead of the survivors as a form of manipulation by the Entity.

Wraith could be seeing Azarov and the mercenaries he killed as a kid.

Hillbilly could be seing his parents and all the police officers that haunted him.

Spirit could be seeing her father and the bullies that bullied her.

Deathslinger could be seeing Bayshore, the prison warden and all of their assistants that took advantage of him.

Would be interesting to have a theory for the complete opposite case. The killers with pitch black eyes: Leatherface, Huntress and Clown. Who knows what those think of eyes mean.

  • The "always see the killer build"

Kindred, Open Handed, Alert and Empathy.

Empathy basically lets you "see" the killer and know where he is when a survivor is injured and starts to fast vault/throw pallets/run in circles repeatedly somewhere. Still unsure if I should swap it for Bond or not tho.

I also tried Dark Sense but didn't like it.

  • Speaking about original killers only, Trickster, Ghostface, Clown and Doctor are the most evil ones.

Those 4 are pure sadists that 100% enjoy what they are doing and would probably never leave the Entity's realm even if given the chance to.

  • It may be difficult to balance and unfun if not done properly, but I still dream about a killer in a gas mask armed with a flamethrower. Maybe a ww2 soldier or something, I think from a strict design point of view it would be extremely cool.

  • @shinymon said:

So what's her weapon supposed to be? I can't imagine what It'd look like at prestige I.

It's the same symbol but red instead of green IIRC

  • Whatever the case is, do yourself a favor and prolong that break

  • I don't mind well made and unique charms like the cat one or the last one in the current Rift that is also animated. Those are cool and not a waste of space expecially if they're killer charms as they are way more visible than the survivor ones.

But the other 30 charms that look like crap and are all recolors of one another? Those are useless and should not waste any space in the Rift. I'd 100% prefer bloodpoints over them.

I swear I’ve had it every game and I’ve missed half my hooks because of it go play killer and come back with your feedback

Bet you lost him at "go play killer"

  • Classic survivor main clown 🤡

  • One by one manually? Lmao, guess I'll have to wait months to get what it was promised.

  • Same thing happened to me months ago during my first ever game with Wraith and Trickster. Trash SBMM system.

  • Also instead of cosmetics for Claudette, Dwight, Meg and Jake resembling Rochelle, Ellis, Zoey and Francis respectively, they should have added actual legendary skins for the L4D/L4D2 cast instead. Also a Louis skin for Adam and a Nick skin for Ace. Dunno who could get a Coach skin tho.

  • I agree. They all seem like a bunch of random stories about random universes with random characters in it that we know/care nothing about. In my opinion they add very little to the whole DBD lore.

What would really be interesting instead is if the Observer told us about additional memories he finds around about killers/survivors we already know or, even more interestingly, if he'd tell us about different versions of the characters we know (like the presumably Yui killer from another universe they showed us some time ago).

  • Regarding the presence of more than 1 of the same survivor in a trial, I clearly remember Cote saying in one of those old weekly dev streams they did years ago that it's just a gameplay decision that has nothing to do with the lore.

  • Noob question, will you be able to crossplay between Steam and Epic Store?

Oh yea the nemisis is a spitting image of chivalry.

    Same for doc.

I guess they are not wrong.

Doctor doesn't have entity touched eyes. They are white just cuz of electricity coursing throught them. And Nemesis doesn't count either as he's licenced and already had glowing eyes before being taken by the entity.

The only killers with entity touched eyes are Slinger, Wraith, Hillbilly and Spirit.

She laughs when she hit the survivors, so she could be enjoying it and view it as art. Like how she saw the death of the man as a piece of art.

Someone pointed out there are no crows in South America. After reading her story I believe the crows were sent by the Entity and was keeping an eye on her cause it sensed the potential in her and was preparing her cause the Artist saw herself as the reason death come to the people she is close to and the Entity wanted to take advantage of that, like how it took advantage of the Spirit rage.

Yes that's exactly what I was thinking all the time while reading her lore. The crows are obviously connected to the Entity, either controlled by it or just straight up coming from its Realm altogether. The Entity was slowly preparing her to become a killer down the line through the intervention of those crows.

  • A lot of people seem to forget that this is supposed to be original myers from the first movie, where he was just a normal (albeit extremely strong and durable) human that was in no way meant to be immortal.

Halloween 2018 and the upcoming Halloween Kills that are direct sequels to the original first movie also confirm that Myers is not immortal. He's extremely durable, fixated on his target, strong and resistant to pain but in no way immortal.

We are not talking about the Myers cult timelines here, where he was supposed to be possessed or cursed by some kind of demon or some #########. Thank God that crap isn't canon anymore.

So even if I'm a big Halloween fan and I don't give a crap about stranger things I think the Demogorgon would win, albeit not easily.

Myers would certainly tank an unbelievable amount of punishment but at the end he would be completely overpowered. If the Demogorgon wants to chop his head off like he does in his Mori, Myers can't really do anything about it. He has plenty of strength to overpower a normal human but not a monster.

  • Maybe those numbers might actually be more important than we think.

Maybe killers and survivors with small memory numbers associated to them like 100 or 200 were taken and archived before others with memories numbered as, for example, 3000 or 4000.

If that's the case we could easily find out the chronological order of all killers and survivors that entered the realm.

Or maybe, and most likely, they're just completely random.

  • Twins, Charlotte and Victor suffered basically every single day of their lives nonstop.

Hillbilly would be a close second, then Wraith in third position, Spirit at forth and Hag at fifth.

  • Just watching a little DbD's streamer that consistantly plays at very high MMR at this very moment. He found 3 confirmed cheaters in about 2 hours of gameplay lol. And those were just the obvious ones, god knows how many survivors are there that cheats subtly and never get noticed.

BHVR THIS IS EMBARASSING GET YOUR ######### TOGETHER.

  • You're new to the game aren't you?

  • Comparing their official in game models inside programs like SFM or blender, the tall ones all appear to be 7'0 and more so they 100% had to be modified by the Entity to be taller.

Even some licensed ones became way bigger due to the Entity's powers as Original Myers was 5'10 and Leatherface was 6'4.

Also normal humans like Clown, Trapper and Doctor all look like regular sized individual in their tome cutscenes before being taken into the Realm.

The only exception I believe is Hillbilly which clearly towers over the chief officer and looks much bigger than his parents when sitting with their corpses on the couch even before being taken by the Entity.

Regarding Wraith specifically, we don't see him as an adult in cutscenes but I highly doubt he was 7'0+ tall in the real world, as 7 footers are exceptionally rare, being just 0,000038% of the world population.

well, she has a breathing condition paired with a bag over her head, and she accesses the ethereal plane for her power. also, she was involved in a car crash. I mean this in the least snarky way possible, but I'd say she's probably not in great physical condition.

(I mean this comment in a friendly way, and my intended tone is more light hearted ribbing than aggression or snideness)

Why the hell would you feel the need to specify that last paragraph in your comment?

  • Played a couple of matches 2 days ago to test this new system after several months of not booting up the game.

First match ever in my life as Wraith I got a sweaty full meta SWF.

First match ever in my life as Trickster I got the same kind of Survivors as with Wraith.

Never touched the game again after those 2 horrible experiences and I don't plan to do it any time soon. Actually at this point, I might even straight up unistall.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

It also raises your SBMM based on you playing other killers. If you've played an awful lot of other killers their base SBMM will be higher than normal.

I haven't played in months. Before those 2 Wraith and Trickster games I played only 1 as Clown (and got way easier survivors even if Clown is one of the main killers I use alongside Leatherface lol).

  • @GhostMaceNotCrusty said:

The survivors are also probably at really low mmr considering it just released. Its gonna take time before everyone falls into place

If that's the case I suppose it makes sense. I thought they already had the data required to place people around ready.

  • Should have just cut out the "I came" part and leave "The box, you opened it!".

    Too late I guess.

Yes, this a post in the lore section telling the devs to nerf Pinhead.

    Yep, classic survivor crying baby.

  • Is this a troll post? Are survivor mains trying to whine even about the LORE reasons on why killers kill survivors now?

  • I'm speechless. This is awful. Worst thing that happened to this game by a ######### mile. Now I feel like no Licence character is truly safe.

  • @DBDude said:

@En3ermost Thank you very much, I really do appreciate it.

No man thanks to you. Finally some posts worth reading in here.

  • Can't believe you're finally in here again. Welcome back. Can't wait for your next thread.

  • Clown. His belly and body fat can absord and mitigate any incoming enemy attack.

Not to mention he can also use his haunting laugh to stun and frighten any nearby opponents making them fatally vulnerable to his oversized knife Madame Butterfly.

And if all of that isn't enough, he also has the 2 overpowered bottle types at his disposal.

  • You probably never played or seen Silent hill 2.

All Pyramid head does in that game is walk slowly towards you trying to slowly hit you with his great knife or spear until he kills himself at the end of the game. Nothing else. One of the most basic interaction ever in videogames history.

No red attack coming from his sword that goes through objects, no cages, no "final judgment", no nothing. Just walking around trying slowly and clumsily to hit you.

Point is that if they gave pyramid head all those special abilities that have absolutely nothing to do with the game he came from or his original form in said game, they can do the exact thing with Pinhead and invent special abilies he never used in the movies.
