Its weird. I thought that would fix the issue tbh but the game straight up kicks me if i task manager it
Ah, okay, that's truly weird if it kicks you. (Although that would make sense) Person I was talking about didn't get kicked, they were able to continue playing. What a mess this case is.

Yes i did that after my hour ban to see if it would work, it doesnt :(
Okay, so Denuvo restarts itself or not?
I just suggested this because there's one person who closed it and they said that game ran better.
I guess you were just unlucky that it didn't work for you, unfortunately.
Which leaves me wondering what kind of anti-cheat it is if you can just close it from the background.
-
Has anyone tried to close/shutdown Denuvo in the background from the Task Manager?
To see if it increases performance and/or resolves some issues. Or does Denuvo restart itself?
Just asking. I haven't launched DBD since the test day.

I don’t know why they considered this as an issue, because it always triggered audio notifications. As much as I main him, it was also a thing on Fiuyr records 3 years ago. And I’m agree - this just unreasonable thing and turns killer with tunneling mechanic having the best anti tunnel possible in his base kit. Cool story, like current hook stages bs, xd, on this point either revert it or let cages trigger hook related perks as well, or give him teleport or mobility slop.
However on his patch it was an issue that cages was triggering killer instinct for no reason. It wasn’t consistent, it was just a random stuff happening sometimes. As well as lethal pursuer + misty days provided aura read after uncaging for no reason. I don’t know why they didn’t address that issue, because killer instinct provided scream with info of specific survivor voice and aura showing are people changing directions or healing on spot. And they were pretty unstable
Okay, so I'm taking this as making the killer more unplayable. Time is very valuable in this game and when I cannot get info about survivor locations, I'm lost. I've played several matches now and this killer feels so uncomfortable to play right now, because it feels like you are not rewarded for catching a survivor. Yeah you can cage them. What next? Search for other survivors and/or wait for someone to free survivor from the cage and get no notification at all unlike you'd get when survivors are unhooking normally.
It's not always about tunneling survivor from the cage, it's about finding someone, rescued or rescuer.
It's just stupid to go check every single generator now, because you have to find someone.
Welp, I hope this isn't permanent change.

"When hitting a successful Punishment of the Damned attack, the successful sounds are missing."
This is so true. It confused me when I noticed this. Hope this can be fixed as soon as possible. As weird as it sounds, it makes hitting harder for some reason, when you can't hear the sound you are used/supposed to hear.
I'm Steam user as well.
-
Seems like a bug to me. Hopefully.

Nope, in usual games this doesn't happen.
As to the original post, my guess is that the animation elapses sooner than it should, but the actual uncloaking happens as intended.
That would actually make sense. It's annoying and confusing, still. :(
-
I think this happens on every platform. Anyways, yeah, I'm Steam player and this uncloaking lunge delay is absolute garbage. It's the reason why survs can literally camp pallet and you can never hit them, if they just drop it when you are fully visible. So, good luck with winning mindgames after uncloaking.
-
Also, I did some test with Troubleshooter+Eyes of Belmont and it seems that Belmont extends Troubleshooter's aura from 6 seconds to 8 seconds. So bug is most likely in Alert.

Are you Steam user? Anyways, if you can, logout and log back in. It should do the trick.
Or, at least it did for me, as verifying files nor Steam restart didn't work.

If you dont notice any difference with the second, then why have it at all?
Because it does something, and literally said "I don't remember what". But probably adds color or something.
-
Let's say EAC would detect Reshade, this means majority of Steam, MS Store and Epic Store gamers are gonna get banned and that would mean DBD would die, because I highly doubt that anyone would start to play this game again after all the grind.
Also I don't understand why using Reshade is big deal for some people.
NVIDIA settings changes brightness everywhere, that's not what I want. Putting too much Brightness on monitor isn't great solution either, because your aren't supposed to destroy your eyes with unnecessary light, besides some people are more sensitive to light than others.
My monitor brightness is very dark by default, and I want brightness in most of the games I play, however, in DBD, it's not about wanting, it's about NEEDING. I also use higher brightness on monitor when playing DBD, because 50% brightness nor my Reshade alone isn't enough.
I literally have 2 filters on my Reshade, other one is slight brightness boost and other one I don't remember, because I don't notice difference.
-
Yeah it's definitely OTR that removes Endurance after unhook when gens are done.

so i've been playing onryo in the event mode and literally haven't lost a single game. probably have played ~70 games with her. not even a draw. and i'm running franklin's/weave. it's super op. the weave aura reading turns tvs into literal death traps. you literally can't interact with tvs when onryo pops out the moment you get near them.
That sounds like skill issue, ngl. TVs turn off after teleporting. Someone has to pick up an item and take it away. Situational awareness plays fairly big part in DBD.
-
I have had it happen on DBD even before engine update, looooooong ago.

I found out later that this person has a lobby loader and was essentially cheating (semi-high level comp player btw). Uses it on stream & displays everyone's MMR, is forced to swap accounts like twice a week but twitch allows it for who knows what reason.
There is a vulnerability, but it's the same vulnerability that causes cheats to be possible, doubt they will be able to truly fix it unless they overhaul a ton of stuff.
Okay, good to know. Pretty lame people cannot live without stuff like that. Must be tough life.
-
Not fixed. I faced 3-4 SWF team today, 1 most likely Epic Gamer (icon) and 2 Steam players, all they were anonymous Aces. Shouldn't they fix/patch this, tbh? They knew my Steam name (I have public profile on Steam, tho) despite I have anonymous mode turned on whole game session.
-
It's rare seeing killer missing their attacks, and if they do, they are usually very noobish. Not alone that, but game is full of non-basic attack killers, which makes this challenge near impossible. But here we are, I've been throwing many matches and ruined many survivors match (and maybe killers?) today.
-
It's very unfortunate, really.
Devs adding higher prestiges to game without option to hide them: "This is not gonna be a problem"
Players: "We're gonna make it a problem."
-

Yeap. I get lobby dodged for 10 minutes then tunneled out when I bring anniversary cakes.
No more cakes for anyone now, and I can't play my favorite characters without being the target of sweaties thus forcing me to play sweaty back which I don't want to. It's either that or die within minutes.
This has been asked ad nauseum, CAN WE PLEASE HAVE THE OPTION TO HAVE THEM HIDDEN THANK YOU 🙇
That's unfortunate. We have to face it that when killer leaves a lobby, we can get sweatier killer than we'd expect due to backfill system. Hidden Prestige option would be greatly healthy towards better game experience, especially for solo Q.
-
No wonder I didn't find it. I ran through the hole Swamp map and not found my totem from outer walls nor from the center of map, or ship or boat. lol
I kinda suspected it being bugged because not long ago I heard someone saying in the live that they were looking for Plaything totem for a long time but didn't find it. Now that it happened to me, and I didn't find it, but I actually found burning totem, but killed grabbed me while I was cleansing it.
There is a reason why auras are shown to survivors. This is actually very unfair bug.
-
It's bugged.

After doing only great skillchecks in a match and escaping, I got it completed.
Probably having the 3 great skillchecks as the last action on gens will get you the success message in the aftergame.
This is true. I did only 3 Great Skill checks on generator during trial, so anyone who struggles, follow this method. It's guaranteed to work 100%.

Hooked once on Shelter woods, no counter.
Also, there's thread after thread when searching for "buried underground dbd" that go back 3 years with the same issues. Kind of insane. Just remove basement hook challanges if you can't figure this bug out in 3 years please.
it's that meal spaghetti.
-
It's bugged.

If you are Steam user, try to add "-dx12" to launch options and try that. If it causes random freeze spikes, then take it off.
But about me, idk, my game has been trash for years, cannot see difference.

I had this same error today. But as you can see, last time I had it was 6 months ago, but if I remember right, it wasn't during gaming. (not sure though)
However, today I got BSOD during killer match. I got it recently. Coincidence?
note: I can't use diagnostic tool, it tells me something that hardware doesn't found or instert disc bla bla bla.

105 is the highest number I can run without rubberbanding. I used to be able to set it to 144 (nVidia G-SYNC monitor) without rubberbanding. Once the rubberbanding started, any number above 105, or leaving it at the default 60FPS..... I get the dreaded rubberbanding.
Okay, thanks.

Yeah, it makes no sense technically. As a side note, it appears I've been wrong, provisionally.
I am fine with whatever result it is. I wasn't lying from the beginning, which is most important to me. Even if someone still has problems with 90 FPS or 105 FPS, doesn't mean every has. :shrugs:

I've lowered to 90 and the I got almost no rubber-banding. I'll continue with these settings tomorrow and see if it was a fluke (I've been playing much later than usual)
My computer is relatively powerful (TR 2950X, 64GB RAM, RTX 2080, full nvme) in case it matters for the threshold.
I have weaker computer with only RTX 2060 GPU and Ryzen 7 3700X CPU (had game running actually total 5 hours with instant Ques. I did this topic when I was playing, thats why I said 3,5hours then), so I think you are gonna get same result than today. Good luck with testing. This whole situation is just so unclear to me...

You have a reason to report back : ii you do as you said and rubber-banding disappears you can tell me how wrong I was.
I played first match with 120 FPS (my usual FPS cap). I got rubberbanding.
I set my FPS cap and limit to 90, I have played for 3,5 hours now. No single teleporting or warping on my side.
Have I had questionable hits from killers? Yes. But laggy hits are normal. Here is my report.
-
I could be wrong. Giving a try doesn't hurt. I will test it, but I have no reason to report back anything, because I have done my job here.

What's the issue? What's the balance? I don't have any problems. People are always gonna do stuff you don't like, that's just multiplayer games. You can't dictate people's behavior.
If you want answers, you need to dig deeper.
-
@YOURFRIEND said:
Shrug. I always have fun playing survivor, grouped or not. Dunno what people are always complaining about.
You can have fun, but doesnt fix the issue nor balance.

What comes to perks, all I needed from survivor side was that they wouldn't butcher Spine Chill. For me, strongest solo perk ever, because that's only meta perk I ran. Now I wonder why Window can stay the way it is. It's gonna be more used now.
I was never interested about other bonuses of Spine Chill. Just killer detection side.
So, the detection range is inside 36m, which is huge. BHVR could have reduced that range to 15m-20m. Who even stalks survivors from close range as Myers or Ghostface, usually. This change would have benefit those 2 killers a bit and keeping perk good.
Now, it's unreliable, high risk in indoor maps. Should I say, almost useless, because it's unreliable.

This wasn't on ptb, or? I think I went against a survivor called exactly that on the ptb, and they were actually really good at looping against Dredge, if it was them, but they didn't seem like they were cheating or anything at all.
No, this wasn't on PTB. I can't say much about their looping skills. Chases were short, if, they were chases at all.

Again this is speculation but it's possible a cheater was doing this to make it seem like you were the one cheating
I guess so, he or she didn't say anything after the match. I have a guess that it was player named "Don't chase me", the person who seemed a bit fast.
-
@Brokenbones said:
I think Cheaters can put on Killer perks, not 100% sure though
Maybe they somehow forced Dead Man's Switch & Pain res into the game
That would explain it, any survivor didn't have killer perk so they were invisible, I guess.

We do need video evidence for most reports yes, especially if showing things that happened in a game - holding the game hostage etc.
Why you don't inform anything to reporter? You used to do it back in time when I actually sent reports with evidence and people got punished. Now I don't send them, because I am just wasting my time. It's very unsupportive to the reporter when they don't know if action has been taken.
The reason why I actually ended up here, is because I was just recently against a cheater Huntress (bot) who ended match in 30 seconds. Are you even aware of this thing? Few days ago, I saw a streamer on Twitch who was streaming "bot cheating". This should be top priority issue, nothing else, just saying.

@Steel_Eyed said:

The scripts, that cheaters use, alter the game engine through macros. So locking the engine prevents many of those cheat software engines to have trouble operating.
Maybe you don’t know what you’re talking about but this thread is asking for the loophole to come back, indirectly.
Get it now?
If this change completely stops cheating, I'm gonna agree. So, I don't want to see any flying characters anymore in-game. Can you promise me that? Nor lag switcher.
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
Oh good they locked the engine finally? Guess cheating got a whole lot harder. Rough day.

Ok, I would actually like to see the match at this point. There's a lot of information missing.
Generally, with this load out, I would expect the survivors to run to the top of the library at the very end of that narrow balcony and get downed there. If that is happening, then a killer should be able to body block other survivors from getting to the downed survivor and just let that survivor bleed out.
I guess the survivors had Boon: Exponential setup somewhere close the balcony.
In this situation, it's not Boil Over causing the problem, it's a coordinated SWF using the lack of hooks to their advantage. The same thing would have happened if they replaced Boil Over with Sabotage.
First there was 1 survivor, I tried to hook her, she wiggled out. She ran back, I followed her, downed her. She recovered to injured state, I didn't know she had Endurance, she looped me a bit on the top of the library. I downed her again. Then 2nd survivor came there, for reasons I don't know. Finally they stepped on my ######### so I could Cage at least one of them, I think I Caged both tbh. Then I just tunneled them, but at the end of match it was just W holding contest. I Caged them so I can keep the match running and make progress. In the endgame, third survivor ran to the library, I didn't know her build at all, thought it was just her last resort to run library...so..pain started again..they outplayed me with bodyblocks I guess

So if a killer got 4k camping the basement with monstrous shrine we must nerf it?
I don't know what game you have been playing. I have seen 0 Monstrous shrine campers and many library abusers in the past. Also, side note, isn't Monstrous shrine specifically made for basement camps lol Just check out that perk's benefits. But yeah, if you want to nerf that horrible perk, go ahead, I don't use it. I don't know why you brought up that worst possible example, tho.

So you can choose a broken and scummy playstyle (based on a map) but when survivors choose a playstyle via a build and items they actually have to bring, you complain? Ironic isn't it.
If they do want to play in ######### map with their broken builds, then BIG YES. Don't worry, I have Franklin's for people like them and possibly for people like you.
