did they stand still for a while

yes and no, killer saw the aura during the chase and when Feng was healing herself (standing still).

It felt like OoO, because aura disappeared when killer got closer, idk what's going on.

  • Thank you peeps.

Let's not forget our good D friend Groaning Storehouse, spawning a double pallet right outside the window because the literal infinite wasn't strong enough! :D

I hate those windows. Needs so much thinking to run those 2.

Anyways. I didn't see this test coming, because I thought it's pretty clear that to make this game a bit less frustrating for killers is to keep Bloodlust exist. Removing BL affects on some killers a lot and some not so much. Well, definitely it doesn't really mean a thing to Nurse.

But without Bloodlust I can imagine the gameplay of non-anti-loop killers against decent/good loopers. It's like land a one hit on survivor and then change the target or catch that survivor and camp him/her out of frustration. I'm not saying this scenario happens with every killer, but eh...chasing a survivor should be rewarding, in a way or another...

You can chase one survivor for a moment and build up Bloodlust and finally catch him/her, it doesn't mean that you lost the game already, but giving up on survivor without Bloodlust just sounds annoying. Killers without anti-looping abilities gonna be in pain. I don't feel like anyone should travel around the map as a killer just because she/he didn't catch that one survivor and now killer needs to find a new a survivor, because Bloodlust didn't help the killer.

    I see.

I still don't think it should be made more available than what it was while the game was still up on the store.

it's still available, but people just need to know how to obtain it. it's nothing illegal, it's part of the Steam program.

    off-topic.

  • I tested this with my mate today, so it indeed lasts through the generator fix.

  • Oops, sorry. My bad. Solved.

  • No way, penalty must stay. Too much weak players. Even when I wanna play stealth killer in indoor maps, some nerd usually always DC.

Or generally, match going wrong on survivor's part can make them do hook suicide or DC.

    That’s totally incorrect.

That only matters in the exact moment Doc wants/needs to use Static Blast. Otherwise it’s a non issue. In Docs case in particular survivors expect/predict a larger TR on Doc, so lowered TR or Undetectable is even MORE effective on Doc compared to other killers.

I read this from the wiki

    • "Monitor & Abuse works by setting the default Terror Radius to +8 metres and applying a temporary reduction of 16 metres to it whenever the Killer is not in a Chase."

English isn't my native language so I didn't exactly understand what this means, even tho I understood every word I read there.

So does M&A increase my terror radius by 8m or 16m when I'm in chase?

    I assume it's 16m, but I'm not sure.

Remember that the point of the build, and how Doc keeps getting easy hits, is to keep the survivors as constantly confused as possible.

Alright, thanks. I give Dark Devotion a try. So far my games have been fine, I think I have caused enough pressure on survivors or survivors have been potatoes.

Lol, yep. So many survivors think Doc is hacking or cheating when using M&A + Calm Together. It really screws then up.

Yep, do you have any idea what should I use instead of Tinkerer? I tried Thana and it was okay I guess, now I'm testing Brutal Strength.

Just give it a try for fun one day. The point isn’t really about the massive TR during a chase (although it does increase the chances of catching all 4 survivors in the blast).

The fun is really in survivors constantly having trouble judging where Doc is if they don’t actually see him. It’s much harder for survivors compared to simply not hearing a TR at all like with GF, Pig, or Wraith.

Sometimes survivors will start ignoring the TR all together because of all the false alarms, allowing Doc to walk right up to survivors not paying attention for easy free hits.

    1st match.png

I tried what you suggested, although I cannot use Dark Devotion as I need STBFL, cause it's part of my "basekit" and BBQ is too good too, Bloodpoints wise. This was my first match, and I chose indoor map. I replaced Dark Devotion with Tinkerer, although Tinkerer isn't really perk that I like a lot, and not sure if it is needed with my perk/addon build.

Are any of them using Calm Spirit? Because that's the only thing I can think of since Billy/Oni with Infectious and Doc are decently popular, and I for one am sick to death of chain instant-downs to a 4 man slug at 4 or 5 generators left.

Calm Spirit does negate screaming but the notifications might still go ahead.

As far as I know, Calm Spirit counters IF completely, according to some resources, to my experience and

    this https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/2787116283359836551/

I never ever even thought that IF would show bubble if survivor has Calm Spirit, because it sounds stupid.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

It's based on Terror Radius. Unless you're doing something like T3 with M&A, then you aren't going to have much of a radius for it to happen.

As for volumes, I never use IF so I can't say.

"Feels like I barely hear anyone screaming when I down someone, although I see scream bubbles around me"

I'm in T3 and I have Terror Radius, obviously, but thanks.

  • Ikr, if cheater uses it, he cannot pick you up, but you can pick yourself up.

Although, why don't you just pick up person who has No Mither, tho?

If it's that OP, then I should pick up users the all the time and tunnel them because they are using such OP perk and I don't feel sorry.

  • @MadLordJack said:

If you're not BMing them while forcing a bleed-out, then slugging isn't toxic and isn't a problem. Anyone claiming is is just wants you to go for 12-hook games. Or, more accurately, 8-hook-0-kill games.

And yes, I think Doctors add-ons way overbuff him. Comparing him to even the Plague, Blight or Spirit, other killers with amazing add-ons, most of doctors act like 2 seperate add-ons rolled into 1.

I play with mindset "you reap what you sow". If survivor BMs at me first, I am allowed to play however I want and do what I want, with no regrets or apologizes. But no, I don't BM them when I slug them, because that's not what I find funny.

    @whammigobambam said:

I thought your build would be funny doctor build. I was excited initially but you slug and that is depressing.

You can barely get fun of this build if you don't slug. If you just hook them instantly (when exit gates are powered up) and they come to rescue and have BT, what can you do? Not much. What happens? Cycle repeats or they all will escape, and that's boring. But it's fine, you don't like slugging, it's as bad as BMing during mid-game, which usually comes from the survivors first, and I don't like that. Both are unnecessary, but annoying.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/196263/i-play-funny-doctor-build

I still think that the MOST fun build is Confusing Terror Radius Doc.

Monitor & Abuse, Dark Devotion, Calm: Carter’s Notes & Class 2. Other 2 perks can be whatever you want.

So when Static Blast is ready, out of a chase your TR will be 38m.

When you’re in a chase with a survivor your TR jumps up to 54m (this is when Doc should use his Static Blast as Doc has the most coverage at this point).

When Static Blast is on cool down in a chase the TR drops down to 26m.

Out of a chase while Blast is STILL on cool down the TR drops down to a measly 10m. This is when Doc can get really easy hits on survivors not expecting him to get so close so quick.

Survivors in Madness 2 will randomly hear the edge of the TR at odd intervals. Survivors in Madness 3 will hear this constantly, again allowing for easy hits when they’re trying to snap out of it (they think you’re still far enough away to safely snap out of it).

When Doc hits The Obsession, then they will be causing FURTHER confusion running around with a 32m TR, while Doc can be EXTRA sneaky Undetectable for 30 seconds.

This build causes SO MUCH confusion for the survivors because unless they can actually see you then they’re constantly going to have difficulty judging how close or how far Doc is, and even when they DO hear the TR they don’t know if it’s a fake TR due to Calm, or the real TR.

Loads of fun. Great on indoor maps.

I can see why you like this kind of playstyle. Big terror radius Doctor has never been my type, that's why I don't use those addons or M&M. I have tried Dark Devotion on Myers only, it's funny perk, although not really my style either. I'm chaser kind of player so I use Doc addons to help me hunt down survivors and to locate them without Static Blast. I use Static Blast yes, but I think 32m terror radius is fine. But I will not forget your idea.

    Thanks tho.

Demo is a red herring because if you set up your portals before your first chase you have 4 survivors free to do whatever they want for a good while. That can break a new killer's soul. (Plus I think Stranger Things is the most expensive DLC.) Demo's strength is his shred.

I'm not a Hillbilly main so I really haven't dug into how much the chainsaw nerf effected him but a few years ago all games were Hillbilly and Nurse because of his map pressure. Even if he couldn't hit you with the chainsaw he could get to your gen quickly through the corn. (Then they added Lerys, poor Hillbilly.)

To stay on topic here's fun I would do with Doc.

Nemesis/Rancor/Distressing/BBQ. Try that one out. Your obsession changing will not tip off immediately that you have Rancor to them so that can be a nasty surprise, plus the oblivious debuff when you expect Doc's bighuge terror radius can lead to gen grabs.

Also actually try Dark Devotion too. It puts your terror radius on the obsession and if you do your big pulse while they've got your terror radius come from the obsession. That can really, really throw off a gen jockey if you have zero terror radius and he just saw your scream orbs go off across the map. Sneaky doc is very underrated.

I appreciate your perk idea, although I already use Nemesis on my Myers, which I really don't find enjoyable if I use it on Doc too, plus I'm not fan of Distressing either, I have used it before on Doc, but it's meh. My main goal with the perk build is to punish too greedy or stupid survivors (mainly obsession), this if they make it to the endgame. Also, STBFL is like basekit for my every killer that I play, except Myers, because of his insta-down ability. If you understand why many people use BBQ on most of the killers, you will understand why I use STBFL. STBFL is god-like perk, it can save your endgame and it's useful through the match. I understand that some people don't use STBFL, because it's obsession perk and some people just don't like them. Anyone who says (not talking about you) that STBFL is bad, they clearly don't know how to use it well.

    Thanks tho.

  • I made a promise that I will t-bag at every possible Pyramidhead after his upcoming buff/nerf.

It's because of their unnecessary tunneling behavior. I have never ever played Pyramidhead YET because I know how annoying they can be. Taking advantage of their broken ability (faking ability at vaults and pallets) and strong tunnelvision.

they said many times tunneling and camping is not a bannable offense. is for actual hacks.

you didn't understand what I said or? People will abuse the system, this community, like in any other game, is so toxic that they will spam those false reports because "I lost the game", "killer isn't fair" and what else. It's a bit different in those FPS shooters since people know that camping in FPS shooters is fine, but when you do it in-game like this people will report it.

Idk I've used mori's and get over 30k, it's about getting as many points from each survivor as possible, chase and hit everyone more than the bare minimum. If your using a mori spread damage and hooks and if you mori after the 3rd Gen and your putting in the work I generally atleast 1 pip but often two pip because when there is a mori some players turtle up cause of the threat. A lot of people think because a mori is in play the killer will play jerky but that's not always the case

it's how you use mori, u cannot expect 30k if u mori after the 1st hook, unless you get the upperhand and have time to chase survivors a alot without fear of generators getting fixed.

  • it's funny how 3k doesn't guarantee you rank up, even tho you did your objective, but 4k gives you +1 most likely.

but then again, survivor can rank up even if he/she doesn't escape...easily.

so yeah, this is probably why mori and tunnel isn't very good idea against potato survivors, at least.

mori, tunnel and slugging most likely results in low points, but so what? I think killer should get +2 if he kills them all, this, of course, if killer doesn't mori everyone after the 1st hook.

  • I think DS is fine in its current state. I personally tunnel people, and if they have DS, after I catch them, they don't have it in the endgame. EZ.

It's not because tunneling is fun, but it's because DS isn't fun to go against. Survivors already has BT in the endgame and it has unlimited usage.

  • I did this as solo, it's not really that difficult and difficulty isn't that is bothering me, but the actual fact that you HAVE to get caught to complete this challenge is something that pisses me off and can possibly ruin the whole match for you or others.

  • haha, i can already see people reporting because of tunneling and camping...not gonna happen.

  • Devs are just ruining the whole game by releasing stuff we don't really need. Like always when they try to add something new they just disappoint us. This new loud sound released after the last patch is goddamn horrible and I barely can hear terror radius. It sounds like someone is starting a car and is so goddamn loud and annoying. This all, why?

  • I just wrote a lot text here, but this stupid site started to IP check or something and I lost ALL my wall of text.

anyways, I do it short now, then.

Yes he needs buffs, he lacks mobility, easily countered with Spine Chill, T3 isn't enough as pallets are your friends and you kinda need Bamboozle. I wish killer like Myers could benefit from many other perks than just few. There's many killers those are better than Myers rn, like Spirit, Oni, Deathslinger...

  • I can tell you that I didn't use voice comm until 2020, and even when i use it, I barely share any info, because I think it's cheating. So here's some "hypocrite" for ya.

I think and probably always will, advantage that voice comms give you is huge, depending on players, of course.

However, I don't care is it huge or small, point is, that it gives advantage and is cheating.

Crouching to avoid either (trench especially) is an extreme stretch of logic and just an example of poor development and design, in my opinion.... but okay.

On your off topic - why is it that Survivors are so terrified of Torment? Like, my friend says whenever he plays or like streamers he watches.. .Survivors will purposefully take hits to avoid having to get Torment on them. Are they that concerned with his mori-ability? If anything I think Torment is too weak and needs to actually do something to the Survivor while they're out and running about.

I avoid Torment, because I wanna make killer's game harder, by not giving him easy hook. And also stepping on that red ######### makes survivor scream, I don't want my location to be revealed unless I want killer to chase me. Although, I don't want PH to chase me, like ever. Pyramid Heads are Tunnel Heads, nothing changes my mind, they are annoying to deal with and his long range ability is broken as #########. Mindgames with him are boring and being able to fake his long range attack without cooldown penalty is the true reason why I hate and many others I know, hate him.

On todays Q&A Live Stream, there was question about PH's rework or something like that, I don't remember the question exactly, it came from the person who hates PH much, so much that he doesn't play it himself, cause he knows how annoying it is.

So yeah, I really have no problem with the red thing, but I will keep avoiding it. If I avoid it, I'll maybe have actually a good match.

  • to me it looks like valid move. how's bullying involved with this?

some people like to camp. poor you.

  • I think she is fine. Also crouching should not activate Hag's or PH's traps. They are fine.

out of topic, PH is already annoying as hell, and if something needs to be more noob-friendly, it's he, not Hag.

  • it takes a while to build up BL so nah....it's there to make killer's game easier, to end the loops. Of course reaching max BL isn't very ideal at early game, but when you're about to win.

  • If you play as a survivor, and you don't play killer at all, there's no this problem I guess.

  • Whispers is just fine. If you see immersive survivors as a problem, well, you can still play as a survivor.

I am against the idea to give out survivor's location for free. Unless it's Hex perk.

  • t-baggers and long loops when I want to kill t-bagger. :3

It kinda seems that way. A surprising number of colorblind people play this game and have been pleading with BHVR to make scratches and auras a little bit clearer. This seems like the exact opposite.

I trust that they will revert it or try to improve it somehow. They listened to us with Billy, at least.

do you mean people cried about Hillbilly and now it's nerfed to the ground? rofl.

  • I had a dream. Dream about "BHVR caring about their playerbase"

But nooooo, they add stupid things in-game what we don't need and butchered my love Hillbilly.

  • Hillbilly, in its current state, is most likely super bad. I checked all the addons, and they indeed look so horrible. This killer has been butchered, so, so bad.

  • They literally butchered Hillbilly and these new auras are horrible.

Why attempt to fix something that isn't even broken, lol. Old auras were almost perfect.

    Revert old auras back, please.
