As a survivor that doesn't use DS, i can confirm this. From my experience, for every 10 games without an obsession, at least 7 of those will have a killer that literally stops what he's doing (if not at the complete opposite end of the map), just to put the injured person back on the hook.
I can understand complaints about DS for balance issues, but it's undeniable that it makes the game better for survivors (even the ones that don't have it).
Just for perspective, I do this as killer. I run back to the unhook to catch the unhooker, but instead the unhooked survivor literally runs into me or is self-caring at hook. Sometimes I let them go, but it happens in 75% of matches, they just play bad and get caught. I don't want to let hem go every time.

"You can have 3 gens pop in 60s, if survivors play it right, regardless of what you do. One minute to have the game 60% over. Pair that with hiding/immersed/stealthy survivors and the game is basically over. For this reason Urban evasion, Spine Chill, Quick and Quiet, and Sprint Burst is my least favorite perk combo. Especially when paired with toolboxes and blendettes. Is playing the game that way even fun? Hiding when you hear the terror radius and playing M1 simulator when you don't?"
The above is my comment on another post. This is my worst case "Gen-rushing" scenario. If 3-4 gens pop in under 2 minutes that is a gen-rush and there are times you can do nothing about it.

And still they get 3k most of the time in red ranks.
You killer mains are sad, you have stats in front of your eyes, it's official and you are still saying bullshit. How is it possible to ignore the stats...
Stats are made with swf & soloQ. SWF lower the kill rate so if we would exclude them from the stats, killer rate would be around 85%.
Really, i don't understand how bad faith you need to be to continue arguing agaisnt stats. Have you done mathematics at school or what ?!
Maybe because the stats don't match up with their experience?

Most of my games are 3-4K's on any given killer, almost guaranteed on Freddy/Spirit (even with a dumb mad grit build), less so on mechanical killers I'm unfamiliar with, much less so if I get tilted by framey maps.
Most of my games as survivor are 2-4K. Sometimes we'll get the odd 3 man/4 man escape but usually it's because the killer is in high purple/green ranks against 4 red survivors. There are a LOT of Freddy/Spirit players around, especially Freddy. Kinda disgusting honestly.
I think if people perfectly split on gens and the first chase lasts too long, the killer will lose. But most games don't go that way. If you're getting "gen rushed" as killer vs solo survivors, your chases are lasting too long. If you're getting "gen rushed" as killer vs SWFs, you're not applying enough team pressure. There are very few killers that have 0 way of applying team pressure. L2P

I would genuinely like to know considering many of the factors point towards the game being survivor sided.
1. Perks:
Many good survivor perks can be obtained for free. Adrenaline, Iron Will, and Bond are all free teachables.
Killers on the other hand have the good perks locked behind dlc. Barbecue & Chili, Surveillance, and in the case of PC, Ruin and Monitor.
Survivor is already easy enough that you don't need perks, but then you give them the absolute best perks for free. Killers such as Wraith and Legion will get dominated without perks, but the best perks to run on them are locked behind dlc.
2. Items and offerings:
Survivor: Keys; Styptics (which got buffed); Syringes (which are worse, but still incredibly powerful); BNP; Commodious toolbox; Emergency Med-Kit.
Killer: Ebony and Ivory Mori; Iridescent Brick; Iri Head. That's all.
3. Maps and tile spawns:
Ormond. Coldwind. Autohaven. These three realms tend to be extremely survivor sided. Ormond especially just has pallet after pallet after pallet. The only deadzone that can even exist here is one of the corners with a gen near the small building with stairs.
Now, the killer sided maps are Hawkins, Lery's, and The Game, but even these are only good for stealth killers, Trapper, and Hag. A killer like Nurse is going to have an extremely difficult time on these maps.
Tile spawns would be Cow Tree into Jungle Gym into shack (Coldwind). Safe pallet into safe pallet into main building with two safe pallets into Looping Gym into Safe Pallet into shack (Ormond).
4. Glitches:
You can call me scummy for including glitches, but with how many sound bugs that exist in the game and several safe spots that can be reached, killer is at an unintentional disadvantage. No moaning, no breathing, no footsteps, and no dying noises are some of them. Iron Will, one of the best perks in the game, is bugged to not make you breath at all.
Falling onto the exit gate switch on Midwich so the killer can't get you unless he/she is playing Deathslinger.
There are just far too many issues with the game. They haven't even been fixed even though they've been in the game for months.
I would like to say that I find it quite dumb that the devs can fix pointing and crouching (which should a permanent feature) in a week, but they can't fix the detrimental sound bugs after several months.
Whether it be from perks, consumables, unfair maps, or glitches, this game is far from killer sided.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I will probably make a follow up to this on the history of things being nerfed.
If you are an amazing player, on a strong killer, using the best perks and add-ons, then yes, the game can be killer sided. However, if you play a regular killer with good addons and items and you are a decent player then the survivors almost completely dictate how that game will go.

Everything that you mentioned happens because YOU and only YOU have a bad connection and not a stable ping. You are part of the problem.
Lol. So, I both have an unfair advantage, "broken" as you said, and get screwed by connection? I thought only survivors were hurt and that I had an unfair advantage? It seems you agree that bad connection is simply bad and hurts everyone, right? To say that all issues in the game are my fault and I am part of this issue is a bit harsh as well. Did you know that my 124 ping isn't my fault? That is BHVR. I have maximum 30 ping on everything else that I test and use. In games where I have to use a US server on the east coast, I only have 60 ping. Not great, but also pretty BS. To say that I, or anyone with a bad server connection, are the cause of these issue is silly. This is BHVR's game and they have a small amount of slow servers.
-
Sooo, the timer on your phone counters DS? No, because the 60s isn't the issue people have with DS.
-
No. As a killer who always has the highest ping in the trial, just no. I do not know where you are getting your info that hit validation is based off the killers game, but even if that were correct, it does not work in that way. There must be another issue. Survivors complain when they get hit and it seemed to far, but killers have the opposite issue. Hits that clearly should have counted but didn't. Pallet stuns that you clearly avoided and were caught in, or vacuumed back into. Survivors teleporting around the map with invincibility because your hits don't count because the survivor isn't actually there because of lag. It isn't as cut and dry as you put it that survivors get screwed and killers benefit.

You know how to beat his guarenteed loss scenario oh please tell. If hes behind you and you are running to a window you either A. Vault and get hit by the range or B. Her canceled on and m1'd. There is zero coutner to that and if you deny otherwise I'm inclined to believe you dont play against good PH.
- Fake a vault or pallet drop.
- Run into PH while he is using power. Forces switch to M1. Hard to hit when a survivor is inside of your body and you can't see them properly because of FOV.
- Always run in straight lines to bait ranged attack, then dodge it's easy. Zig zagging like most people do just allows PH to catch up and M1.
- Run dead hard.
- Run sprint burst.
I am sure there are more, but these are some off of the top of my head.

You see, people have this chain reaction, I will explain since I don't know the actual word.
If they are playing normally, no matter which side a killer and survivor whoever was playing fair will do or most likely will do something that offends the other side, most people will feel attacked and will not care for the other side, so in the next match they will do something toxic to another fair player, that fair player will not play fair next match because of what happened the last match.
The cycle of toxicity will continue until the end of times.
Nah, people just don't rate an report as they should, so there is no consequence.

It's sadly nothing bannable. Slugging in endgame is just as allowed as anything, but it makes you choose to wait x amount of minutes or DC, losing all your BP
No, if you describe it properly like, "Stood over me for the whole bleed out meter," and BHVR gets multiple reports like that then they will do something. The reason we have so many toxic people is that no one reports. People shouldn't tell you to K Y S, die from cancer, or even other abusive thing. In fact, they are not allowed to and will have action taken on their account if reported. Toxic players aren't toxic once. If they were reported every time they were toxic, then we would have less toxicity.
-
That isn't slugging. That is griefing/trolling. Your best perk there is the report button and to rate them down.

The hatch is designed to give survivors one chance to let the game not completely run to the killers side, to let at least one get away. How about having it do the same for killers?
If all three survivors escape through the exit gate they will be blocked and the hatch will instead open. The killer will be slowed 5% and the survivor will be given a vague indicator as to where the hatch is (Ie an arrow pointing in its general direction), this is to make the interaction more survivor sided. Upon being closed the standard egc will start and the survivor will have to reopen the exit gate. I also feel the need to clarify that it will NOT happen if the killer has gotten a kill during the match.
Edit: Theres a lot more dislike towards the hatch than I would have thought.
What do yall think?

I hate her because when I slow vault or pre drop pallets she ALWAYS knows where im at and that means of I try and get away it doesnt work she will go around the window if she hears me. You have to pray she doesnt have a headset if you want to win against a good spirit. Don't compare it to a fighting game where every character can be wrecked by skill.
Spirits lose to good survivors who know how to play against her.

as the title asks ahould tunnel killers and face camping killers be banned because this basically takes over the game for a certain survivor or each at one point, because you cannot do anything you cannot do a gen or heal because the killer is constantly chasing and hooking you, now ik there are perks to counter this but new players cannot use these, so it ruins the game for new people, as a player base lets show the developers with a vote what we want.
There are times where both of these things are both viable and right to do. Having a punishment against them would further weaken the killer and give survivors a way to abuse that punishment.

Hot fixes exist. A bug completely prevents you from playing the game should have been fixed by now. It's been over a month, hasn't it? It's not that they can't do it, they said it was already fixed a couple weeks ago but wouldn't come out till the next chapter, which is just plain lazy.
Don't walk there. If you know there is a game ending bug that results from walking there, then don't walk there. There is also no use in complaining about an issue that will be solved very soon.

All these voice chat softwares are legit and can be used outside of gaming. Blocking them would create major issues and EAC is never gonna do that. Dbd would become the laughing stock of the gaming community for even thinking about something like that.
Regarding console chat, bhvr has absolutely no saying or authority over that and it's entirely managed by their respective platforms.
As for the unfair advantage, it's a non-argument. Voice chat is openly allowed. If it's legal then it's also fair game.
Ok, if that is your definition of fair then all killers should quit. Also, BHVR can implement these changes, whether or not they do is on them, but it would massively improve the game.

Not happening. Impossible to enforce from a technical standpoint and it would also break the tos of consoles.
No, anti-cheat software can detect applications and processes running on the computer if given permission. So skype, Discord, Ventrillo, etc. can be detected and asked to be shut down. As for consoles, I don't know the specifics of their TOS. But I am sure DBD can pipe any audio from XBOX live parties into proximity chat, thus not limiting Party Chat but also not giving an unfair advantage.

If the majority are just here to chill with friends for a casual game then you should have no problem doing it in a PRIVATE lobby. However, we all know that you're not here to just chill for a casual game, you're here to bully the killer and be toxic try hards. So they should make swf only allowed in private since they obviously don't give f*** to balance it. There is your easy balance. Remove it from competitive play. Plain and simple.
No, they need to implement proximity chat and make outside chat platforms a bannable offense for cheating.

Gen rush is just the killer failing to apply pressure. It's not necessarily gen times being too short or anything like that. It's usually because the killer had a terrible first chase and were never able to snowball to come back. That first chase is massively important to the outcome of the game, especially without CI. Gens go way slower once the first person gets hooked and they go even slower once the first survivor dies. You just need to hit those milestones early or you'll be on the forum complaining about gen rush :)
@DeeJHansen said:
How can people say genrushing doesn't exist?
It takes 80 seconds base to repair a gen with one survivor. With good toolboxes and appropriate perks, 3 gens can be done in close to one minute if the killer finds and chases a survivor in that time that is. If the killer for whatever reason doesn't, then four can be done in the same time.
You can find a survivor 20 seconds into the match, chase and down in 20 seconds (good luck), have them hooked and move on in another 20 seconds and have 3 gens pop. You have one hook, two gens left, and three survivors able to repair gens, or save their buddy.
This is rare in my experience, but it does happen and is really unfun.

Not true. I have had something similar happen when I downed a survivor 4 or 5 times in a row, they just got back up each time, then I teleported far, far away, and the survivor was downed across the map. Lag can be really unpredictable and make really unfair situations on both sides.

-
The listed tactics CAN be ok.
Tunneling: Good for punishing toxicity, gen-rushing, and harassment.
Camping: Overall bad strat. Good for securing kills in EGC. Good for getting revenge.
Slugging: Only bad if done to grief survivors, done for too long, done with no reason, or done to hold the game hostage.
Mori: Good for punishing bad survivor behavior and looks cool.
Killers who tunnel right off the bat always are just terrible. Killers who camp as their main tactic are garbage. Killers who slug to simply annoy survivors are trash. Killers who bring Ebony Mori's to indiscriminately decimate groups are toxic.
I think the above statements are pretty fair. Am I wrong?

Oh so now we are assuming things for the sake of argument. Alright well I dont want to "bully" killers that's messed up and quite frankly childish. More assumptions yikes. The game should be fun for both side I dont want the game balanced on my *subjective* views but I also dont want weak killers.
I didnt know playing with friends is abusing swf. How about we remove it from the game and watch it die maybe you will like long wait times because no one wants to play solo hell would you?
The strength of swf depends on the skill of survivors and whether they play optimally. My friends and I find sweating boring and try to chill and meme, but keep on assuming if you think that makes your argument worth more.
As long as gens are boring and the chase is the only fun part yeah I will complain I want to have fun to but you look at survivors not as humans but devilish people who are out to get you. Stop that or leave my post.
You don't play as TURDINATOR on steam right?

Hey they've been doing this for years. Of you're screwing around with your friends you obviously are tHe WoRsT eXaMpLe of survivors and you should be ashamed of even playing, because you're clearly only playing the game to be a big meanie to the killer players. They have feelings and can't stand you pressing the ctrl key more than once :( but a killer literally keeping you on the ground for 4 full minutes or camping you til death, making sure you don't get to play the game? Yeah that's a legitimate strategy, and shouldn't be talked about in the same way. Definitely not BM, oh no. It's just a strategy :)
If your aim is to harass the killer and only try to ruin their game, then yes, tunneling and camping you to death is a viable strategy.

Sure it's an issue but it's not ad prevalent on killer as survivor that was today but I could recorded atleast 10 plus unfair hits lol.
How can you decide where it is and isn't prevalent? That shows a huge bias right there.
The hit issue is lag based or assumption based or even both. Lag is on both sides and for me is really terrible because I usually have the slowest connection to the server, meaning I am seeing the game a few milliseconds into the past. Just enough to lose out. The only way that can be killer sided is if the killer has a better connection to the server. And if you were hit based on an assumption that you wouldn't be, that is your fault. As I am sure you know, people complain about Freddy because his lunge and weapon hitbox are the same as every killer, even though he is tiny and uses a glove for a weapon. They assume they won't be hit, but he does his weird lunge with tiny weapon and hits anyways.
-
Not to but in, but killers get hits stolen for the same reason that you think you shouldn't have been hit. I can't count the amount of time that I've been pallet stunned after a full swing through the pallet at a survivor or missed hits at windows at what looked to be within range. It is an issue for everyone.

I have noticed that when it comes to survivors complain about killers like spirit it's always someone saying something like "they want easy games" "they dont wanna change their playstyle." Is this ok now? I try not to generalize killers but why has this not been called out?
Because survivors are a team, so when one or two out of four complain or play with toxicity, then it paints all four in the same shade. Also, some things aren't generalizations, they are observations of a common phenomenon. IE: Survivors complaining about, or flaming you for, everything they can if they don't win. It isn't every game but it is often enough to make survivors in general seem that bad. So, people generalize survivors because they eventually come to see the poor quality people who play survivor as being all survivors, rather than having a level-head. Like being permanently tilted. I say this with experience.

Respectfully, please stop telling us what we understand and what we've seen. I'm a rank 1 killer main with 2k hours of experience. There's certainly players out there with a lot more experience than me, but I can guarantee you that everything you're describing is something that I've seen before - many many times. Red rank SWFs are beatable. I do it ALL. THE. TIME. While playing as a variety of killers.
While it's true that there are some games that are unwinnable - this game does have a lot of RNG that survivors can skew against you - those games are by far the exception, not the rule. If SWFs want to get toxic with you because they won an un-losable match, ignore them. That's their issue, not yours.
Mostly though, killers will always have a chance to stage a comeback, even against an endless parade of 'second chance perks' (UB, DS, BT, etc). If a survivor is going to wiggle free, leave 'em to slug. Even if they have unbreakaBill you're still wasting their time, and they can only use it once. Get them to waste it early and they won't have it later when it might have been much more valuable. Same with DS.
You didn't see my game. So I can say that you didn't see it and don't understand it. I've never seen coordination like that before in my own games or games that I have watched. I also beat red-rank SWF ALL. THE. TIME.
I am complaining about an issue that I see more and more as I get better and get closer to rank 1. Not every game, but this game I am talking about is the perfect example of this problem. A group that knows a formula for a guaranteed win and is good enough to not make a mistake doing it.
I am also saying, "you don't understand," because your suggestions may fit many games and scenarios, in fact they do and I know this because I use those same tactics, but they don't fit this specific game. And I am complaining, once again, because elements of this epitome of unwinablity are appearing more and more in my games, though still not often. The only counter to these games and tactics that I see is to play a stronger killer, use moris, and/or run perks like NOED and DH and hope they aren't cleansed.
-
I don't understand your comment but yes there is cheating lol. But it is pretty rare in my experience. The other day a David instantly sabo'ed every hook except for one and the four in the basement less than 1 minute into the game and then DC'ed.

This. Exactly this.
Killers like to complain about gen speeds, but it's on you as killer to pull survivors off of gens by creating a lot of pressure. This is not just accomplished by getting hooks, but by getting injures, downs, and slugs. If an entire team wants to drop OBJ to body block you should graciously accept their offer. The free hits you get will only generate more pressure.
The right perks, items, and playstyle alleviate that pressure. I didn't once complain agouty a gen. It was a long, long game. But because of perks, playstyle, and items, I could not get ahead. Maybe this is a problem unique to a few killers. I didn't feel this way as Demo or Pyramid Head, but Ghostface seems to be really dependent on survivors. And as I play more, survivors get more and more like this group I am complaining about.

It does feel good and it is more fun, but there is a playstyle that counters every killer except for the overlords like nurse and spirit. That is what I am complaining about. There can be situations that are unwinnable for some killers and that is exactly what this felt like.

Yeah look at it another way, all four guys on that hook means no gen progression so they paid all that gen time to try and deny 1 hook state. Its the survivors giving you free pressure. Drop the David or not just hit everyone and apply wounded, if you get to the hook great if not you have one health state off everyone for free and maybe one down if you dropped in time.
Shouldn't be to hard to get a second hit on at least one of them and get that down. If they block again its more downs this time.
So now you have 1 hook 3 wounded maybe one extra down. Its a gift.
How does no one understand that injuring a 4man with awesome perks and med kits isn't pressure? And how does no one seem to understand that what they are suggesting is literally impossible.
"Just drop and hit them all" body blocked at a fence, can't get to others. I hit one, dropped, hit another, picked up David as they ran away, they ran back to block and David wiggled out. Stunned they run away leaving the healthy survivor. With me.
"It's free pressure bro" have you played killer? Honestly? With four med kits, maybe three and a toolbox, I can't remember, they can spread out and heal pretty ######### quick, and get on a gen. No pressure exerted. I had surge, nurses, I'm all ears, and Barbeque. All good perks that didn't help much.
I am not asking about advice on how to get out of the bad situation that you are imagining, I am complaining about the bad situation that actually happened to me.

I'm Pretty sure I understand the situation well enough. A "rotating body block strategy" is not a thing people do against skilled killers because it's just not viable. If they give you a bunch of free hits by body blocking - even if they get their teammate to wiggle free - they won't be able to body block the next hook because they'll all be injured. And they won't be doing gens because they'll all be healing to prep for the next body block.
Letting someone wiggle free in exchange for injuring their entire team is well worth it. That's an insane amount of pressure you've just generated.
And dropping a survivor if you can't get them to a hook is both a 'viable counter' and greatly recommended. Letting them wiggle free and run off to do gens is not the preferred alternative.

A revolving body block strategy is a thing and very viable.
You go down? Unbreakable if you're slugged.
You get hooked? DS or BT to save you.
I guess the situation is too hard to understand without having seen it. If I knew how bad it was going to be I would have recorded it.
In my case the survivor wriggles free, injured survivors run away while I'm stunned, healthy survivor stays. SWF so comms, can't move without being communicated. Can't use nightshroud because I'm watched. If I chase the healthy survivor, others heal and go do gens or chase an injured survivor that is already a distance away, have to hope to catch up to them before they hide or find a good loop. Deal with Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Lithe, Balanced Landing that extend the chase. Which allows Survivors to heal and go do gens. Get a down and repeat a similar situation. This is a losing situation that requires the survivors to have a massive mistake. Which they didn't. This was a drawn out game that was settled pretty quickly.
My complaint is that as I move up I continually run into these punishing 4mans that are very well coordinated in perks, items, and strategy. It isn't every game, but it has been often enough to realize that the trial is at the mercy of the survivors.
An irihead huntress or a killer nurse could have destroyed them, but you shouldn't have to play the most busted killers to compete. That is the essence of unbalanced.
