Bc it doesn't change anything but I do think you shouldn't be able to change your char/build either after searching for a match or x amount of time it won't happen though bc again they are exactly the same

For anyone who may stumble across the thread and not know for whatever reason https://news.deadbydaylight.com/en/news/Prestige_Progression?utm_campaign=prestige_progression&utm_content=&utm_medium=social%20&utm_source=facebook the grind is going to become easier...and prestiging will no longer penalize you basically

I've p3 all perked all killers from Trapper through Twins. My Trickster is about 2/3rds from being p3 all perks. The rest of my killers are all p3 100/279 perk slots
Survivers I've p3'd all survivors up until Leon. All other survivors from Leon on up are also p3 100/312 perk slots.
It's really silly how big of a grind it is. I mean I've been playing since just after Pig was released. An embarrassing amount of hours and still only about 90 percent through. Of course in a month or so I'll be about 85 percent through when the new killer and survivor are introduced.
Thank God they haven't implemented any band-aid fixes though. /s
This is why I only plan to P3 a select few killers

Yeah, I edited it, that's what it said initially, but obviously that's wrong.
One thing I do wonder though is how do you plan on obtaining all the unlockable killers? You can either buy the chapters, which will give the surv and the killer, buy the Killer expansion pack on sale, or buy them all with Iri shards.
My personal advice? Wait for a steep sale on the killer expansion pack, then buy that pack. And ofc whatever licensed killers you want, BBQ being basically mandatory if you're actually planning on grinding at all. I'm not gonna make a whole new post explaining the Iri Shard grind, but just know that one killer for 9000 shards is 35 hours of in-match playtime, and that's assuming none of your games go past 10 minutes, which won't gain you any extra EXP. So say 50 hours of gameplay per killer. The pack cuts down the need to grind for killers by hundreds of hours.
If you want to, you can also just buy chapters on sale, especially if you want both the killer and the survivor. How you obtain the characters is really up to you. Just know that if you already have a character unlocked already either with a chapter or with Iri Shards, you won't get any compensation if you overlap your purchases and buy them again with the Killer Expansion pack, or buy a chapter of a character you already unlocked with Shards.
But how you choose to obtain characters and spend your money is up to you, I'm just saying don't stack them on top of each other, that's wasted money.
Doing either will give you a lot more freedom to make builds far earlier than I ever did. I saved some bucks, but I spent a lot of time to unlock all these characters without paying, which restricted my builds a lot. Not really worth imo.
Legitimately the only killer I don't have is Nemesis I have every other killer and on the survivor side is where I have to work things out I have been playing since 2020 so I'm not like a noob to the game I was just curious how long the grind will take but yeah 193m vs around 7mil 7 is definitely better LOL around probably 10 of the killers I bought with auric cells but is the killer and survivor expansion pack like a season pass where you get all non licensed killers and survs forever? Bc if so I may snag that even now for the future especially for survivor

I can actually give pretty accurate info here as I've P3L50'd all killers, and kept track of how much BP it costs to reach level 50. As well as average BP cost per bloodweb at level 50.
Keep in mind the way I run bloodwebs is I get perks as number one priority, Streamers and Puddings second priority, and ending the web as cheaply as possible third priority. If there's nothing I care about in the web I purely play to end the webs fast while always getting the most perks possible.
Getting from Level 1 to Level 50 takes about 1 450 000 BP if you run it like I do. The average Level 50 bloodweb takes a little over 50k, it's somewhere in the range of 48-54k. Obviously if you're picking up rare addons or anything like that, it's gonna be way higher, but like I said I purely go for perks and 100% BP boosters, I barely care about addons.
To get all perks on a killer, it would cost first 1 450 000 BP to reach 50. Then you'd have 62 perk tiers out of 279, as there are 93 perks, each with 3 tiers. After that, you need to level approximately 109-111 bloodwebs, depending on how many perks you end up having in the web in the last few webs where you can only get one perk at a time. Of course you can get unlucky and lose a perk, but that's rare.
In short:
Level 1 to Level 50: 1 450 000 BP
110 Bloodwebs at 50: 5 720 000 BP
Total: 7 120 000 BP
Pretty much like @SunaIIanu mentioned earlier, per killer. Ending up around 193 million per killer, assuming no P3. If you want P3 as well, it'd be 4 350 000 extra per killer, ending up at a total of 311 million BP.
I personally would advise against getting all perks on killers you don't have P3 on, and instead get every P3 + all perks on all the killers you do enjoy playing first, then move onto get P3 and all perks on the killers you don't enjoy last. My mistake is that I got P3L50 on every killer before maxing anyone's perks, so I ended up spending a lot of BP on characters I've barely played. Of course, I don't regret the prestige, but I would have done it in a different order, then I could have played more with killers I enjoyed along the way.
And prestiging more than 1 or 2 survs for all perks is a waste, I only have 1 surv P3L50 all perks. I might P3 the survs slowly after I have every perk on every killer, but I'll probably just do P3L1.
Because I'm tired and need sleep but am restless I assumed you meant 193m PER killer but after doing the math myself you meant overall which doesn't makes me not want to cry

Answered my question with great detail, so basically, figure out who I want to commit to first. I have a lot of fun with Legion, so maybe Legion first...? Or Ghostie I like a lot of M1 killers, but I have to get perks for Artist, Huntress, Wraith, and Twins (Nemesis too, but I don't have him yet), so basically I have to create an order of "what killer do I play as the most vs least" and level them up from there after I get the teachables I listed above. I want to start by using community content creator builds and then work my way into understanding the synergy of a build so I can create my own fun builds! As for survivors, yeah, I plan to only max out probably 1-2 survivors because I like to switch. I'm thinking maybe between Mikaela (I'm ginger, so thought it'd be fun) and Dwight, with maybe Feng being # 3 way later down the line.

1 at 48
1 at 15
1 P1 level 15
1 P3 level 50 and all tier 3 perks.
21 Survivors at level 20

1 at 47
2 at 50
1 at 27
1 at level 1
2 P3 level 50 with all tier 3 perks
1 P3 level 19
I know this includes survivors but maybe someone could work out some maths with this.
Jesus Christ I've been playing since like June 2020 or something like that and I haven't even spent 40 million O.O

According to the latest leaks (which includes the dredge), the RPD will have 3 different versions, probably with certain parts closed and reduced in size.
But for me it doesn't matter, I have nothing against the map (i like as survivor). It's great with certain killers like the pig too.
That'd be great hope it's true! understand but for someone who isn't great at learning maps that map is a nightmare

Mostly because it would be complicated. Network error? Could of just been you pulling the plug on your wifi. You're computer randomly shut down? Could of been you holding the power button. A repeating instance causes the server to flood and shut down? Could of been you making a DDoS attack.
That's just a few examples that are easy to understand.
But legitimately most games like this are able to understand that "Oh okay they left bc they were getting destroyed" or "Oh I see they're internet died" I was punished bc my internet died while playing with a friend how is that at all fair simply bc some might abuse it?
-
In my honest opinion map offerings shouldn't be in the game it gives survivors an unfair advantage to just choose where you go

So what happens when they nerf these "crutch" perks, and killer still lose. You gonna blame other perks for why you lose. Perks are not the issue, it's the maps. Maps are either too big or have to many safe pallets. In my eyes dead dawg is the best map in game. Small size. Pallets aren't that safe. If breakable walls weren't place poorly it be the best map balance wise
Honestly true majority of the times I go there I win or at least don't get completely shut out I think maps should vary but most of them are survivor sided which I hope these maps get the Haddonfield treatment
-
If "grades" don't matter show us the MMR why hide it? It's so annoying people can't see if they had a fair match up or were totally unmatched

Killer gameplay, at base, is incredibly flat.
Survivors have a variety of tasks that need to be accomplished. Find gens, do gens, keep an eye out for the killer. Find totems, find items, dodge the killer while going for an unhook. Try to help your teammates, open doors, hide from the killer. And of course, there's the all important chase. There's dynamism and variety, one second you're in a heart-pounding chase, the next you're taking a breather as you work on a gen.
Killers, in comparison, have almost no elements to their gameplay. Find survivor, chase survivor, hook survivor. From there, you either rinse and repeat, or camp. You are -always- on the clock.
Put simply: The gameplay design for survivor is a TON more involved than for killers. I think that's also leading to killers complaining about survivors being OP, then posting a screenshot of them getting 3K+: Killer gameplay isn't fun unless you are in full control of the match, which is generally only going to happen if you're stomping the survivors.
So I think that a lot of balance complaints also stem from killer gameplay being flat.
I don't really agree with your statement I only complain about survivor being OP when I either can't hook anyone or only get 1 kill I understand you're going to lose some but it's ridiculously unfair how fast gens can go if you have brand new parts or multiple toolboxes I understand they won't go away and I don't necessarily think they're unbalanced it's just the fact when you combine them together and maybe a perk to excel it like prove thy self(?) It just becomes so unfun to play killer especially if the survivors have bm like force you to come to the gate just to teabag you to rub it in your face that they're better
-
As someone with a little over 250 hours I recently came back to this game the biggest deterrent for me to play the game is 100% toxic survivors who click there flashlight or teabag you at the exit gate bc they won and I do agree with some here
it's 100% a double standard if you bring strong perks survs call you out in chat for using good perks and then if they use strong perks it's bc of something a killer did to them
I play scummy I'll admit but because it's legitimately the only way to play as killer for me bc there's so many 2nd chance perks and gen rushers it's so frustrating thinking you're doing good and then you're nice to a survivor
then they take advantage of that trust and just bully you sometimes run you for a few gens and then by the time you realize it's too late

Under that specific circumstances I don't consider that tunneling .To me tunneling is when there are 2 or 3 survivors there and you specifically go after the one that was just unhooked.
As someone said here sometimes tunneling is the best option we just sucks but it's just how it is sometimes but usually it i "tunnel" it's bc I smack injured and then chase the healthy if they are both injured I may go for both stuff like "tunneling" really just depends on the situation
-
@gatsby said:
Decisive Strike is extremely meta defining because its existence in a match forces a Killer to change their playstyle. So what if there was a perk that was even more meta defining.
Introducing my idea for the strongest anti-tunnel perk in the entire game:
All For One
You cannot be killed or sacrificed until all Survivors in the trial have at least one hook state.
"What do you think you're doing? My friends still need me."
The threat of this perk would make camping or tunneling out an early kill impossible. All the sudden facecamping, insidious camping, setting 90000 traps in the basement and proxy camping instead of pressuring gens would all go away. Because it wouldn't be worth the effort or give any sort of advantage.
Killers would consider hooking all four Survivors before getting their first kill to be the standard and would never try to circumvent that. We all use BBQ anyway to monitor how many Survivors we've hooked, so good players probably would be fine with the change and bad players wouldn't be able to grief Survivors or cheese out wins.
I severely hope you're joking...sometimes "tunneling" is the only option for example when you can't find any other survivor and if you say "you should let them go" then that entirely removes the point of playing killer if I see someone I'm gonna chase them and if I see an injured person along with a healthy I'd go for whoever is best in that situation

Aye and you said that some Perks are worse at Tier 3, so with my rework you wouldn't even NEED to grind a character up to level 40 to get those perks. Once you hit 30 you'd get all your decent level 30 perks by your logic.
Not true some perks are better at level 3 some are better at level 1 and you mean to say they all unlock at x level correct?

If their perks are...bad at tier 3...then you won't have to level them that far?
And the grind is not that bad. It really isn't. With all the bloodpoint events and the presence of the Tome missions bloodpoints aren't terribly hard to get-what's hard is getting them, then never getting the perks you're after.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1386217#Comment_1386217
100% on the last thing you said there. If I want to survive and do well as I get to higher ranks I just can't play those characters with "so-so" builds because they won't work. And I agree with the prestige, I've never done it, because I don't care for the cosmetics, don't want to entirely re-level and possibly get worse RNG, and once you hit 45 you'll have had the teachables so what's the point?
I'm sorry you didn't make much sense you said at level 40 perks would be level 3 correct?

I do agree that Adrenaline seems fine right now. They only change that I would really defend would be removing the wake up part; Adrenaline was buffed solely to counter old Freddy and it would be good time to revert the change now. We could even compromise and move this effect to another perk. We do have one that is actually called Wake Up!
And after thinking about the delayed healing again, I thought it could be used as a counter to NOED. Think of this situation: You're injured in a chase, last gen pops, Killer has NOED now.
What will Killer do?
1) Hit an injured survivor and reveal NOED to all healthy survivors. You get hooked, teammates cleanse NOED, You get saved but by the time You are unhooked You've healed 1 health state and are free to escape.
2) Hit an injured survivor and reveal NOED to all healthy survivors. Then proceeds to chase after another survivor and leaves you slugged. 16 seconds pass, You heal from Adrenaline and run away safely.
3) Leave You and go look for a healthy survivor to use NOED most efficiently.
In all these hypothetical situations, delayed healing actually rewards You.
I get what you're saying but it wouldn't make sense for it to pop or the timer to continue while on hook, I do get It'd be maybe a nice counter for NOED but then people will want it nerfed bc ppl would abuse the delayed healing, even more instead of baiting a killer they'd run a killer around jump over a pallet killer breaks it adrenaline pops, off they go into the sunset.
-
Please no I'd rather RNG then more grinding lol
I understand the concept I do get the bloodweb RNG is annoying but I don't wanna grind everyone to lvl 40 to use there tier 3 perks and there's a glaring hole the fact that some perks are WORSE at tier 3

Pretty much as I played rather religiously back then. But between that and reviewing some of the changes they made overtime, I'm rather happy with most of it. Really looking forward to the graphic overhaul as well.
Again the feel of the overall experience has been solid. Still have some qwerks here and there, but it's been a much more pleasant experience overall.
Matchmaking is still broke. But a fix is apparently coming

Seems like a Interesting idea I'd like to see a different design for them both
-
I'm sorry I don't understand this.

I think adrenaline is in a fine place I don't see a reason to change it I do get some bait killers before it pops and then zoom off but that's just smart timing by the survivors imo.

Were you a licensed killer by any chance?
And, tbh, i'll have to look for a swf group at this point. I'm just getting angry im not escaping with the crown.
I was bubba yeah do they not have crowns?
-
NOED doesn't need a rework like any hex perk it's a double edged sword if you're so worried about it start cleansing if you still get hit with it then RIP
-
It's a double edged sword and if ur unlucky and the totem is like let's just say noed you open the gates see noed go down for it and the killer is right there like hello c: you get hooked and then ur other teammates are just like....yep *goes through exit*
-
I took the crown as a killer and wasn't given it are you sure that's how it works? Also I'm sorry but...it's a...stupid little halo crown and it will probably result in you getting tunneled if you wear it anyways.
-
It's a strategy simply get over it? Frowned upon strategy? Very much yes but just let people play how they want to, like I won't lie I don't follow that survivor rulebook if I see the same survivor 3 and all 3 times they get hooked well that's tough luck for them, I'm not gonna let them go just bc it's "Fair" nor will I just run across the map after hooking just to not "camp" camping is a legitimate strategy I never facecamp, but I can admit to proxy camping on purpose because well...I already stated why.
-
Chucky won't work for this game he's too small all the killers are really tall or normal height so Chucky wouldn't fit the game sadly
-
I feel that most skins could be seen as overpriced...but I never develop grudges over survs when all survs play diff I am stuck in yellow ranks so maybe that is why...

Xenomorph in my opinion..isn't really licensed...is it? like is alien really a horror icon? another thing I feel alien is a BIT too out there and wouldn't fit DBD

I feel Jason would be a underwhelming or boring killer :/

I think Pennywise is just a no bc we already have the clown which was released around IT hype Jason I still don't think is likely and I feel Jason would be a more boring killer than candyman to top things off chucky would be unrealistic unless they get creative.

This has always happened to me, only in this game.
- The OS has about 3 or 4 days since it is installed.
- I have no hardware problems (gpu rx580).
As I mention, it is only in this game, on Sunday I spent almost 12 hours playing GTA and everything was fine; I play Fortnite (same graphics engine) almost daily and not a problem either.
Same GPU as you and my DBD never crashes it has crashed once but that was a windows related BSOD.
-
Freddy Demo and leatherface aren't on the list
-
I quite enjoy it yeah
-
I am new to the game but so far I really enjoy playing as Hilbilly this opinion could change as still trying killers.
-
All of the above which is why I mostly play killer c:
-
Alright so I feel as though IT and Jason are out for a simple reason:
Jason has his own game so if they get his license the Friday the 13th game will become probably deader than before
The Clown was released around the hype of Pennywise I believe I am unsure what the devs will do but probably a non license killer unless it has already been confirmed it will be licensed?
