One month later and still pending.
The Devs don't need to release fixes instantly, but at least acknowledge it's a problem so people feel like they are being heard.
I've noticed this camera bug only happens when I get grabbed but don't hit anything. I cannot look up, it isn't just a bug, it's game breaking.
If you aren't going to optimize controller settings for PC, remove the choice.

Why do you think this matters
Why does it matter, because the whole forum is just people saying how unhealthy the game is, it's impossible etc. asking for drastic changes, but providing no evidence.
I'm just showing my experience as a solo survivor to show that it's not as bad as everyone makes out (for me, personally).
Guess to some, harder and more challenging makes the game unbalanced and unfair.
Looking at your previous comments on other posts, you clearly just have a stick up somewhere. If you aren't going to provide anything meaningful to a post, just don't comment.

Ok, well let's start by addressing queue times, I'm instantly getting into matches while as killer I have to wait forever, so I'm assuming that some matches are paring me with killers they shouldn't (speculation but I assume true), so this may be helping my escape rates.
I did it in an excel sheet instead of screenshots because I wanted to see more than just escapes, but what perks were becoming meta etc. it's easier to look at a glance at a spreadsheet than over 30+ screenshots.
Really unsure why people find this unbelievable, a lot of the killers I went against weren't high tier killers, a lot of them didn't slug/tunnel/camp, so the escape rate makes logical sense to me, it comes down to how the killer tries to play. I also probably play more than most people so.....
On a final note, the meta change hasn't impacted me so much for one reason, before the meta change, I ran random perks through a wheel, so I never had a set build, got use to using nearly every perk, so when perks got nerfed, it didn't change much for me.

I've actually been considering bringing Self Care + Bite the Bullet into a match. Not to heal myself fully but just to shut myself up briefly at critical times. I used Bite the Bullet with a medkit earlier against Pig when I was trying to get my trap off. She literally ran right past me in front of the Jigsaw Box. So I still think Self Care can be a handy tool at times.
I'll admit, good idea, but from what I've seen, people are choosing to run self-care solo (no botany) so, yeh, that hurts.
-
I play 50% killer 50% survivor, and as a survivor, I've been loving this patch.
Even more of a hot take, I find Dead Hard really fun to use now, never liked using it before, felt too strong and hated going against it, but now, it's almost as fun as pulling off a Power Struggle play or a For the People play.
I use to run random perks before this patch and now I'm solely using perks that got changed, to get use to them, and it's been great.
My only grip, if I had to make one, is my teammates in solo queue kill themselves on hook quite often or don't wanna do gens, but honestly, that happened before the update.
Most importantly though, for high end game play in particular, this meta shake up was needed and now the game feels fresh, which I like :)

She also blinks and teleports through walls, how is that a counter-argument, that she's slow?
Yes... and if she hits you when doing that - also known as a blink attack - it counts as a standard attack because it's the only way she can really get hits. What you want is for her to be able to blink and teleport... but not be able to hit survivors?? So she has to target a blink, get it right, suffer through fatigue etc, and then what?? Somehow still catch up to the survivor (who's already run away at this point) to get her M1 attack?
Honestly... you guys need to upgrade your arguments here.
I assume you believe she's in a good spot, perfectly balanced and nothing should be done about her current power level?
I do, I think she's literally the manifestation of the definition of gameplay that survivor mains keep crying for, i.e. skill should be rewarded. She takes a lot of skill to master, and for those who've mastered her, deserve their rewards. Survivors should learn to juke her, instead of crying about the fact that they have to learn different strategies to verse her.
Well, thanks for nit-picking a single point you didn't like, ignoring my overall concern with the killer and providing no positive feedback
Well, I exposed the consistent flaw in this argument you and others keep crying for. Your overall concern with the killer is irrelevant when your only solution is literally for her to not work. That's not a solution.
First of all, why do you have to make this a Survivor Main v.s. a Killer Main argument, the vast majority of players who play DBD (like myself) play both equally, I have 3.7k hours in the game and about half of that I have played killer, so I am saying, objectively, with the current meta after the recent update, she is over-tuned.
Also, either you have never gone against an insane Nurse, but considering you've made 500+ posts, I doubt that to be the case, but to simply say, just juke her blinks, get good, any Nurse with several hundred hours doesn't miss, so...yeh
Look, you're clearly a Nurse main the way your repeating the same points but not actually offering anything useful, you've made you mind up and that's fine, but I and I'm sure the vast majority of the community will agree she is over-tuned. I don't think she's broken, I don't even care if they do anything with her M1/M2 stuff, but, she at high level game play is far too strong and unless you are 4 man SWF team you won't be able to do against her, which ISN'T healthy for gameplay.

Oh gawd.... does every survivor main have to ask this question individually and expect a personalised answer?
Her hits should count as M2 attacks, not M1, I mean, if Blights rush attack counts as M2, why doesn't Nurses?
She's literally slower than survivors. She is the only killer that is literally slower than survivors. How do you expect her to get M1 hits when she's literally slower than survivors without her blinks??
Blight is a 115% killer. He can literally walk up to survivors and smack them upside the head like most of the other killers. That's why his special doesn't count for basic.
Honestly, if this is the shallow depth of understanding, it's no wonder there's so many complaints about Nurse. Survivor-mains simply refuse to step out of their bubble and look at any other factor other than "duuurrrr... my standard looping skills are no good any more"
She also blinks and teleports through walls, how is that a counter-argument, that she's slow?
I assume you believe she's in a good spot, perfectly balanced and nothing should be done about her current power level?
Well, thanks for nit-picking a single point you didn't like, ignoring my overall concern with the killer and providing no positive feedback...don't comment if you're just going to be rude, maybe?
Also, not a survivor main, solo queue and killer main...read the whole thing

Well, it only happens to my friend and never to myself, so maybe it is in combo with the perks he is using?
But it's been 3 different lockers, so don't think it is the certain lockers.
It's not internet connection etc. as we play over the same connection

As survivor I run perks that I feel totally rely on chance and will not switch any of these beautiful perks out-
Smash Hit
Any Mean Necessary
Autodidact
Blast Mine
I feel like meta perks are that way because they are guarantee to give you value, but I enjoy a bit of randomness, not always getting value but enjoying it when I do :)

I mean it's in your title, why would they add skins for a survivor that barely anyone uses, would make no sense.
But as I go on to say, maybe they are unpopular because they have so few cosmetics and the ones they have are below the quality of others?
Better skins, more people using those survivors...surely that makes sense?

Then I'm just going to either leave the lobby or close the game and you get to wait for another survivor.
I guess your're also demanding that chests get removed from the game? How is it any different from a last second swap to a different survivor bringing something in?
Oh and killers complain about this all the time, don't worry, it's not just you.
@GoshJosh said:
The entitled killer main vibe is unreal on these forums. Flashlights and keys would literally become dead items overnight, thanks to perks that completely negate their use. Why the heck do you think survivors have to do this in the first place?
I'll compromise with you and say we can have the DbD mobile lobby. No one can switch anything, game starts five seconds after finding all five players. Either play the match or leave the lobby.
How does me saying this is a problem make me a killer main (2,945 hours of gameplay and the majority played as survivor)?
Whenever someone says something is a problem with 1 side, it must mean they belong to the other side, just make your point, doesn't have to be an us vs them thing!
I bring a flashlight 50% of my games and a med kit the other 50%, if the killer sees I have these and brings Frankie's, fair enough(if all survivors have an item I'll unequip cause it's almost certain). If they skip lobby, fair enough, hardly makes the wait much longer for me!
Comparing last second changes to chests....how is that a comparison, honestly should be the only way to get keys anyways, if you're bringing them, says a lot about you as a survivor.
Either way, you guys haven't made points as to why survivors shouldn't be locked into that survivor when you join lobby, you've basically said you just don't want it to happen. Which is fine, it's you opinion on the matter, I just want an actual counter-argument as to why survivors can swap and killers cannot?
-
I actually feel they are dropping the ball when it comes to original killers, females in general could make far more interesting killers as it goes against the grain.
Male killer with a gun...in tons of games + movies
Male killer throwing knives...in tons of games + movies
Male killer setting traps...in tons of games + movies
So many concepts that could be used- vampires, werewolves, spiders, snakes!
They could use poisons, nails, fire, tar, hell, even screams, typical horror things that you could mix with a female role and would be far more interesting than a male counterpart.
I mean, I personally think design wise and lore wise, The Plague is the most interesting killer in the game, followed by Huntress, plus they are fun to play :D

I think you should be locked and the killer given a window, but sometimes I'm spending BP during a wait for a lobby and switch - I think there should be a grace period of at least 15 seconds, one for the survivor who enters the lobby, and one for the killer wherein they're allowed to switch stuff up after the survivors are locked in.
Killers have the spend bloodpoints before they join a lobby, I'm pretty sure survivors can do the same thing, it's not hard.
But you are also right, you could just lock survivors in earlier and give killers a chance to adjust.
Items aren't toxic, bring what you want, but accept if a lobby has a map, a key and 2 flashlights, the killer should be able to bring Frankie's to counter that or choose to dodge a lobby...cause it makes the 4v1 far harder for the killer.
I'm sure many will disagree....but the items get reworked, this should be the way.
-
I don't understand what the argument is here, as a survivor main, I hate it when my teammates do this.
I guess the ones who are defending the last minute character switches are the people who do it.
You wouldn't be switching you character last second if you didn't think is was a crappy thing to do.
I've literally seen 2/3 man SWF teams all switch last second to bring flashlights. You should be locked into your character as soon as you enter the lobby I feel.
-
That's good to know, thanks....hopefully it gets fixed cause power struggle is already so hard to make work...making it a gamble on top of the work required to make it work is sad

Does it even matter if one side is more toxic than the other, it's DBD, it's just part of the game.

I've heard a dumber suggestion. "Survivors should trip and fall after running for long enough."
That's pretty amazing. Maybe Survivors should let go of gens after X amount of time because it gets too hot to touch it!
Maybe killers should be stunned longer with each pallet hit due to concussion.
People should leave things that work perfectly well alone...jeez

I don't mind NOED. Low skill killers use it and they don't get much BP from getting three downs the entire game. I had a game the other day where a Wraith couldn't get a single down the entire game and got three kills because of NOED. It's my teammates' fault for letting him. It's kinda sad they think kills are all that matter, but that's the mentality of the overwhelming majority of killer mains ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Low skill killers use it?
While it's good you have no problem with the perk itself, it's survivors who cannot break 5 bones who have low skill.
We should be doing the side objective, you yourself said it's sad kills are all that matter, yet clearly you are just doing gens, isn't that the same thing?
-
Possibly one of the dumbest suggestions I've ever heard.
I'd say I'm a survivor main but play a fair amount of killer, 3k hours of gameplay, I'd say basement is one of the only things that still creates a little fear, a little dread, why remove the only scary part of the game that remains.
You have to make plays around, use some wit and skill to counter a killer putting someone in it, because you can counter it, that's why borrowed time and DS exist.
You nerf basement, killers, who are already weak, lose too much power.
-
Yes.
Just do bones!

For clarification: is the wins column indicating your wins or the killer's?
Did you escape in 17 matches against Wraiths?
The wins column is me personally escaping through the exit gate (hatch isn't allowed).
So yes, I escaped 17 matches against Wraiths.

And in how many games as a solo do your teammates do more harm than the killer?
LOL, ummmm....it does happen a fair amount, normally it's one of three things;
1.Someone will self-care for 32 seconds in the corner of the map instead of of coming/going for a rescue
2.Everyone will leave gens when I'm hooked, crouch nearby and they will all just wit, meaning no-one does anything for 20+ seconds
3.One team member will just a lot of pallets early which kills mid/end game chases.
However, I don't really mind this, even with the solo queue handicap, I find it a far more enjoyable way to play survivor than playing in a big SWF team....because it becomes far harder to win, SWF is almost a guarantee.

For your next 200 matches, could record some more stuff? Here's some things you could record:
Suicides (which hook),
DC's (which hook),
Ranks involved,
What perks are used by the other survivors and killer,
Items used,
Add ons on killer.
That sort of thing
I'm glad this has got people interested and it's created a chat, but I'm just 1 person, I really don't really wanna commit to collecting data that hard, who I faced and a simple win/loss is something I can just pop in the end of the game, takes 5 seconds and then I'm into my next lobby.
That would just take far too much time..sorry :(

All i'm seeying is pig having a 100% winrate and therefore is SSS tier
I don't want to hear excuses like this is from the survivor point of view and she actually lost every match
The data is obvious when i interpretant it the way i want to
Seeing...anyways, why does this have to be 1 side v.s. another, it's just data, nothing more or less?
I make it clear a win is me escaping, so anyone can see that pig is barely played and doesn't win when she's played....really don't get your point?
@whammigobambam said:
I'd be more interested in seeing wins in terms of 3 or more escaping because escaping by yourself through the gate is about as easy as a hatch escape in most cases.
Maybe this would be a more accurate showcase of a win, if it was a SWF team, but solo survivor at red rank, I'm not going to stay around if I die first to see if the other 3 escape. That's why I made the criteria me escaping through the exit gate only, which of course is harder than a hatch escape, to say otherwise is objectively wrong.
Plus, again, why I don't think your reason for a win is wrong, it kind of heads into that gray area of what is a win, which I'm not interested in doing. Thanks for the suggestion though.
-
Any Means Necessary, the only perk I'll never switch out of my perk set.
I like Blood Warden on Killer, especially on Freddie with his Iri add on that blocks the gates for 15 seconds when opened, always a scare for survivors :D

He's one of the 3 original killers, power is easy to understand, and not being able to be seen is a plus for some people. Is wraith using his strong addons different from any other killer using their strong addons?
The part about the strong add ons, I feel like maybe his add ons maybe don't seem that well balanced since he got the windstorm built into base kit, would say maybe the numbers on some of them could be changed.
Also not sure if this is the reason why is suddenly more popular, to me, it just feels like a lot of Spirit and Freddie mains moved over to Wraith. Maybe I'm wrong
-
That's fine and to a certain degree I agree with you, but you will notice 80% of flashlight clicks are repeated/macro clicks that are used in a taunting way towards killer, which is just a douchey thing to do.
I should have made my original point clear on that, thanks!

You've made 8 posts here, most on your own thread and just figured out how quoting works, so I am going to guess that you haven't been around here much. Once you get over the same 5 users who constantly have the same gimmicks going, you'll see that the opinions on every playstyle are varied across all players.
Or, to put it more simply, I'm far from the only one who doesn't view tunneling as a problem that needs to be removed, and rather sees it as a tactic that can be counted by good players. For evidence feel free to check my own post history where you can see a thread I made "the case for tunneling" where the biggest response I got was from people amazed that I felt the need to point out that the game currently and according to the devs does not and will never "punish" tunneling in any way, even with the pip penalty camping receives.
You are correct, I haven't been on this forum and just learned how to quote (well spotted). I don't come on here cause when people have suggestions, people don't discuss, they just give opinions which they won't change which doesn't make it a discussion forum but just opinion posts.
I'm NOT saying tunneling should be removed or that it is inherently wrong, I'm saying the vast MAJORITY of players don't like it and that this could be a simple way to address it for the majority. Maybe it wouldn't work, but the aim is for all sides to be happy, if survivors gen rush, killers don't enjoy themselves, they switch sides or stop playing, queues take too long. If the only way killers can win is through tunneling & camping, survivors stop enjoying the game, which leads to most solo players leaving and just SWF existing.
It's addressing something most dislike, my last post on the matter as I just wanna play the game and thought this could improve it.
-
No one said Devs would punish it, but the majority will agree it's not a healthy part of the game, required, sure, not healthy though.
I have already said this should have been introduced years ago, just like I feel discordance should be base kit for killers, these are fundamental issues with the game and these changes could balance the game more. But adding obsessions as base isn't like adding DS base at all, not really sure how else to explain it...
-
@AsherFrost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2095160#Comment_2095160
No, it doesn't sound right that you use suboptimal builds and playstyles and seem to believe that is worth bragging about. Seems weird.
It would take about 2 weeks to get a good impression of how often ds is actually being used. After that? Tunnel city. In the meantime every survivor perk that creates an obsession would be nerfed by the change, and the overall use of ds would plummet.
Ok, well, not really sure what perks you believe will be nerfed by the change? We currently have 6 survivor obsession perks, none of which would be hurt by it.
Whether you're the only survivor player who feels tunneling isn't a problem, I'm not sure, but adding this may reduce tunneling. I mean, maybe after 2 weeks, as you keep saying, people will pick up patterns, but that is the minority, not the majority I believe!
-
Well, I made that other post, nice to see you creating your own post instead of contributing the the main one where we are talking about it.
This comment here "Asking for obsession basekit is basically asking DS to be basekit." What are you on? Killers can create obsession in matches themselves so how would that be making DS basekit?
I literally see no downside in obsessions every match, the only thing that comes from it is an uncertainty on the killers side if DS exists (which may prevent tunneling, which IS a problem) as well as more bloodpoints for the killer & survivor!!!
Also, no one said it's useless, in fact, I said in the first post the DS changes were good! Just less people are running DS which has caused more tunneling to happen, it's just an idea, don't make this a killer main v.s. survivor main argument dude!
-
The point I was trying to get across is, even before the changes to DS, I feel this should have been a thing, obsession every match, or as someone else stated, just remove the obsession from the HUD and have all skills private.
Whether you are a killer main or survivor main, we can all agree that tunneling is bad, just like gen rushing is. I just thought not shouting at the killer "NO risk to tunnel this match" isn't healthy for the game and a simple change, always having an obsession in the HUD screen, would prevent one of the problems within the game.
-
But my point, while kind of based on DS, still stands, obsession should be in every match, like you said "the obsession ceases to provide any uncertainty or psychological effect", however, forcing a perk to be picked in order make this happen is outdated, I feel the HUD should always show an obsession, just as I feel someone running no mither shouldn't show up as injured, these are things the have become outdated as the game has progressed over time.
I mean, even if after 2 weeks people notice most games don't have a DS with an obsession, at least it still creates somewhat of a mindgame, compared to a game with no obsession, you automatically lose the psychological effect.....
-
I'm not really saying it's a perfect answer, but at least it acts somewhat as a deterrent, you say for 2 weeks, but I mean, it's hard to predict how it may change the aspect of the game, knowing every match COULD punish you with a possible DS is better than knowing 100% the downside doesn't exist at all, as a killer a quick look at the HUD tells all. Either way, DS change good, but didn't think people would start tunneling so much, killers must be aware this will cause DS to be changed again at this rate...
