It's what happens when a dev teams listens to a tiny, loud minority that has optimized the game perfectly. I've seen so many games die because it is inaccessible to new and casual players and DBD is that game now. The proof is solo gameplay or casual SWF as you said. BHVR doesn't care. Their response to solo game sucks is basically the players fault. No responsibility.
2019 was a perfect year because the game grew until that year, but has been dying ever since. The new update is repeated pattern of killer buffs and survivor nerfs.
DBD needs a new dev team that understands what made it popular years ago.
It's not "dying" if it's been 5 whole years of growth. You're just personallly disinterested or bored. You're also cherrypicking to an insane degree if you believe there has been no survivor buffs since 2019. Solo que icons, no face camping, base-kit and more anti-tunnel tools, no 3 genning, killers have to be very aggressive and hook everyone for slowdown, and even more. All while Spirit, Blight, Nurse have gotten nerfed. That's why the updates are great. They're not anti-survivor or anti-killer, they're anti-crutch.
I think the problem is that you have nostalgia and have dulled out all the obvious problems from before. But if you sincerely miss old Legion, old Spirit, old Moris, facecamping Bubbas, lagswitching, killer favored validation, no solo icons, etc. (and that's just from survivor POV) then play a different game as I and many others don't want to play that.

I'd say easily now. I started in June 2020, and in all my time the dev feedback and the willingness to make changes has been unprecedented. Great patches/killers come out consistently, and even when hated, they're fixed practically in an instant. This is because DBD now actually has consistent competition in the asym arena and can't just do anything they feel like (which is how it operated most of the time).

Sorry to say, this is one of the worst changes you can add. The killers that have the highest lethality and have secondary attacks are the ones least hurt by Endurance, not the most. There are obvious examples of Nurse and Blight who are given unparalleled tunneling abilities untop of their existing kit, but also killers who alredy have camping/tunneling problems (i.e. Leatherface and Pyramid Head). You can instantly hit survivors when they're given endurance, invalidating off the hook Endurance and almost every single Endurance perk just from the matchup.
I find your examples don't truly make sense. Myers would be fully hurt by these changes due to not having secondary attacks. The point of Endurance is to counter an insta-down, and only when injured. Those killers appeal is that they ignore health state, going after injured people isn't helpful.

As of writing this post, the map is enabled in custom games but still unavailable in public gamesThat is false. The map has been re-enabled in normal games (with normal chances of appearing). However you cannot use the offering to take you there.
Thanks for clearing this up for me.

Pyramid Head is objectively the better of the two, he has a very 1v1 playstayle able to shut down survivor tools and hard counter many perks and aviod slugging. But Freddy I find much easier, he has a pressure/map control playstyle and still has snares to help in chase.
In terms of perks, they're pretty much on the same level, but I give a slight edge to Freddy and find his perks more fun.
If you're buying whole dlc packs only, I'd say Silent Hill because Cheryl is much better than Quinten.

Conciousness, literally and figuratively.
Myers thrives in oblivousness to his prescence and his "motives" (as in he has none, he is evil and simply wants to cause malice). He was able to kill his sister due to her oblivious to her responsibility to look after him as she has casual sex instead. Her underestimating her 6 year old brother costed her life. This is also why he attacks Haddonfield. Not just because it's his home town, but because it's an incredibly safe suburb combined with the carefree post Vietnam culture of the '70s. The main characters who survive Micheal (Lourie and Loomis), are the only ones who are curtain of him being present and the dangers of that fact, while their peers consider them crazy. All those who die, are the ones who let evil get the best of them and couldn't care less until the last second. This is why he thrives in stealth and why he chooses curtain victims. Lourie and Loomis also are the only ones who fight for their lives when facing the Shape, while all the others get killed begore even knowing what's going on. He has all these principles in DBD.

I don't like the amount of changes here that massively slow down gens. Little known fact: Gen speeds are perfectly fine (saying this as a killer main,) and It's not fun to have to sit on gens for 20 minutes, so constantly giving a bunch of perks massive slowdown would not really feel fair to Survivors. Also, a couple perks here say to use the active ability button, but that doesn't work for killers since a lot of them use that for their powers, so they probably wouldn't work.
I meant the same one as Dead Hard, not secondary power. But yeah, it's currently only a thing for survivor.

Update:
Added Forced Penance and Monstorus Shrine.

If a Wraith sees a survivor, he can go up and hit them WITHOUT using his power if he wanted to. Old Freddy didn't have that option, he had to put them asleep first, no exceptions.
Uh, no. He starts cloaked and must uncloak when he sees a survivor. If you stay uncloaked the entire game, then you are a basic M1 killer with no power and 32 meter terror radius, which is worse than old freddy.

For killers: NOED
For survivors: Unbreakable

No killer should wait before being able to hit a survivor. Sorry but the idea of having someone asleep first before hitting them was always a terrible mechanic. I'm glad he got reworked.
You know the Wraith exists?

This was what I meant by a change for Myers, I really like this rework concept, but the truth is that I feel that teleporting and not being stunned by a paddle in EW3 reminds me more of the power of Jason in his movies and rather this It would have been a perfect concept for the character, but with this concept and above all that teleportation would be more terrifying than it was before, I mean, because in his films he always disappeared in sight of someone or without being seen. I also like the sound you mention for its teleportation, I think this concept must have been in the game a long time ago, since now Myers is very outdated and I feel the need to see something new in it, in addons maybe not much, if not in his power, with Myers it costs 8000 malice in each game and is tedious, since his power is now simpler.
The whole "stealthy disappearance" is what I was going for. Not really any for the killer to create distractions and make it so survivors can't turn their cameras (like what happens in the movies).

In all honesty, I think Myers is more hampered by the newer maps than anything else. Any map without a reasonably high amount of LoS blockers hurt him so much. Even if you aren't going for attacking people while in EW1, your stalk rate is dependent on how close you are to your target. If they start running really early, you'll get next to nothing. Well... and Spine Chill.
However... overall I dislike your rework. Here's the thing. Oni does the whole "Charge up, go HAM, and Snowball" thing way better than Myers does. Honestly he always will. For that reason... any rework that pushes Myers more towards EW3 gameplay at the expense of EW1 and EW2 is, in my opinion a mistake. Instead they should look into making using EW1 and EW2 better. Those states are actually unique. EW1 is the only permanent Undetectable that allows attacking. EW2 is the only 115% Killer with a lower than 32m Terror Radius.
Also, the EW2 teleport. Like initially I was like "That'd be neat" but this again kind of bumps up against what other killers, namely Freddy, Demo, and kind of Hag can do. I'm just not too sure about that.
I originally had the idea to give all the powers possible as long as he used up evil, to put less foucus on always leveling up to tier III. But I realized with how killers always have two "active" powers at once, and that it kind of made him too broken anyways, which is why I linked them to tiers.
You are right about the teleport, but I don't exactly think that Myers' power is completely unique now (even though he did the stalk/power up first).

Note: When it says "0:00-0:03" that is a link to the sound effect.

So, howdy. Killer main here - quit in 2017 and came back this past week after a stream made me wonder how things have changed. Sadly, not much.
And this isn't gonna be so much a complaint about Survivor tendencies to bully in SWF or treat Killers as less threatening than a yappy dog (as much as that does sometime happen), and instead voice my chief complaint - DBD feels like 2 games trying to vie for a middle ground.
I've been open about the fact that when I play killer, I'm looking for scares. I play Jumpscare Myers, Omnidirectional Bell Wraith, Unlimited Tier 3 Myers where I most of my time chasing with no real attempt to down, hard turn Blight to try and catch survivors off guard out of corners. My entire goal, since I started playing, was wanting to be a horror GM, more or less - creating an experience.
And I think that's why my stints tend to be so short - I get a few matches where I accomplish that goal, then spend the majority of my time sweating for BP instead, and it just demoralizes me.
I almost feel like DBD should have a sister game, where your goal is similar, but rather than trying to kill you, the Killer should be marked as a winner for provoking legitimate reactions, whether confusion due to illusion-based mindgames, paranoia due to creating noises, adrenaline/panic by breaking down doors and chasing you, etc, and your goal as the survivor is to hide, finish tasks, and keep your nerve. Award points for bravery, cunning, etc on the survivor side, Dread, Tension, Unsettling, etc on killer side.
I dunno. I still play DBD with the same mindset, albeit fewer and farther between, but I still in some ways hope the kind of experience I envision becomes possible, maybe with VR/biometrics or something once they've moved beyond the realm of gimmicks.
Am I the only one who kind of wishes DBD had this kind of experience, or possibly introduced something like it?
I think it's the wrong mindset to knly consider the game horror. Even if it was the scariest game of all time, people would become immune to everything due to repition of the game. Most people who enjoy playing (including myself) enjoy the asymmetrical cat & mouse aspect see the slasher horror as a backdrop to facilitate it. I think the idea to make the game easily killer sided just so it becomes more "scary" would end up making it dull, boring, and frustrating. I enjoy playing killer because of the difficulty, and satisfaction of winning or just making good plays. When I chrush survivor teams that are clearly unorganized and/or made up of players who are much more inexperienced, I find it boring to get such an easy 4K at 5 Gens. When survivors become competitive (and not sweaty) that's when I'm invested.
-
Well I mean, you need 4x the amount of people to be playing survivor, so even if you find that line of thinking problematic, I think the devs do it to speed up que times.

A windstorm addon and bone clapper as basekit would be a good change.
But im not sure about this last change. It teaches new players to play hit and run. But the aura reading reduces his skill cap. You dont need to guess where survivors are anymore.
And it would be a nightmare for newer survivors, so the devs will never consider it.
I agree on the new players and the devs not doing it, but honestly for high or mid ranks I don't think it's bad. It makes Wraith's map control more of a feature. By the midgame you probably a lot more aware of the survivor's whereabouts especially if they play aggressively, in which Wraith also struggles with that gen jockey type playstyle. It encourages the hit & run, and gives surviors more of a reason to get rid of it. But you have a good point.

I think he means Bone Clapper.
Yeah, Bone Clapper. I just call it that, and call Coxcomed Clapper "Silent Bell".

I would've told myself that stealth is way too overrated for survivor.

Jason Voorhees, Norman Bates, Candyman, Chucky, and James Earl Cash (Manhunt). I don't mind some monsters or killers from other horror (like Pig, Pinhead, and Xenomorph), but I'd rather stick to slashers.
