Necro (kind of) my own post.
And after thinking about it, I have the opinion that the overall BP gain should either be increased in regluar intervals, or older things need to get cheaper. The way it is currently, newer players need to spend a ridicilous amount of time to catch up on perk unlocks and with every DLC release the problem gets worse. Not sure what the best approach would be, but something needs to be done.
And also, holy crap is Lich bad at generating brutality points. Injures with his skeletons don't give brutality, only deviousness… In general it is a bit weird that most killers are loooong maxed on deviousness (The only actual exception being nurse, since she has basically a 1:1 ratio of brutality to deviousness) while they are like a third done with brutality. And Henry has a hard time getting chaser points, since often he stays out of range for the system to detect a chase, so he just gets hits/downs without ever initiating a chase. Maybe needs some looking into aswell.
Would be cool to get some feedback from the devs what they think of this. Since it has no impact to gameplay as it is only about bloodpoints, I am sure there would be no harm in buffing a few killers (and survivors in some aspects aswell).

Yeah I agree, BP events need to be added to more interactions. This also goes for survivor perks, we still don't have BP Events for:
-Wiretap
-Mirrored Illusion
-Pebble (I think)
among others, I just think the game could feel a bit more rewarding for using abilities/perksYes! Good idea! Makes playing Off-Meta perks feel more rewarding!

Did this seriously get 5 downvotes with no feedback? Did people really just see Jason get praised in the title and immediately click on it just to downvote, not realizing OP is talking about bloodpoints? Like seriously?
On topic, I agree, Jason's bloodpoints generation feels very on point, and it feels like the devs took previous complaints about killer releases into account for him. They should continue shooting for about this level in the future.
Yeah I guess people get so triggered by Jason that they don't even read further than the title. Ah well, it is how it is.
Yes, comparing Jason to older killers feels like night and day. Old killers like Trapper need to prolong the game as long as possible to get decent points, while Jason gets so much points in a very short time. Makes playing the oldies feel very unrewarding.

I don't care about her addons, I think I have played about 10 games with addons on her, I usually don't use any.
The problem I have, is the fact that she now can use no other perks other than slowdown. Any other form of perk build is now unuseable on her. From now on all people will see is 4 slowdown nurse, everything else is not playable.
The nerf is not gonna impact her as much as people think in terms of her power level, it is only making her a completely straight forward killer, without any variation at all.
-
" I don't even play killer"
This says everything we need to know.
Your MMR is very low, so it is most likely you went either against bad survivors, or against experienced people INTENTIONALLY wanting to stay in low MMR.
Your 4ks are meaningless this way.

@Gindaen said:
Remove Nurse's ability to blink through objects and she's fixed.
There was a addon that did that. 1 extra blink but can't blink through objects.
It made her completely unplayable. Once survivors realised the nurse ran this addon, the nurse could basically never catch anyone at any bigger object, like jungle gyms.
So that is a big no. That is not fixing her, that is killing her. All she needs are her bugs fixed, then she is fine.

Okay so? What do you wanna prove.. It’s also so funny when tryhard Killers like you DC at the start or midgame
I don't want to prove anything. And how am I a "tryhard killer" just from this screenshot?

@EntityNea said:
How sure are you that it was ragequitting? I had a match recently (tonight) where 3 of us lost connection to the server at the same time, right as we were opening the exit gate. If 4 people DC that early in the game because of 1 hook, that could be an explanation.
even if it was true ragequitting, what's the point in complaining about it on the forums? just move on
it was a ragequit since they didn't all disconnect all at the same time. The first disconnected, then the second survivor ran up to me and stood still, so i downed them, then they dced. The 3rd and 4th disconnected shortly after.
It it was a blackout or something like that, all would have disconnected at the same time.
And I am not complaining, I just find it hilarious, gave me a good laugh.

Ngl anyone DC'ing in an event is hilarious. Literally had a killer dc after 1 gen was done even though 5 flans were brought lol
Yeah it is quite weird.
Had a Artist DC when she was about to lose the game. It was a rather OK game for her, she got 7 or 8 hooks, everyone got a lot of points, including her. But right as we were about to open the exit gate, she DCed.
Like, why? All the Bloodpoints are gone, the addons and offering she used are gone, so what's the point? At least take the bloodpoints, the game is lost either way, I don't understand it...

Ever since 5.7.0 there appears to be a bug that happens to some players more than others : you will randomly get stuck on any interaction. This has happened to me once but there is this thread where it is repeatedly happening to this poster.

Behaviour have been radio silent about it, and even worse, for some unknown reason, you cannot upvote this bug report.
I even mentioned MandyTalk for information about this and she never responded.
Extremely suspicious Behaviour from uh... Behaviour.
So it is a bug then. I wasn't sure. Thanks for the clarification!

I’ve only encountered a few cheaters. Once I was in a survivor lobby and it was just 3 survivors and the lobby was counting down which was odd because there has to be a full lobby.
we loaded into a match with 2 killers, Nemesis and Myers.
ah yes, I have heard of those, never seen it myself. I thought this was gone when they fixed the exploit that existed years ago, but it seems it is coming back in form of cheats :D

ALL blood points bonuses should be awarded post-game
What's the point of having 50% more bloodpoints in game if I'll probably reach the cap anyway? So I can reach it faster? Why? Doesn't make sense if you ask me
And while we are at it, could we please remove all the bloodpoint offerings except Pudding/Cake/streamers? Brown offerings get you 1k BP in the best case scenario, which is just not worth it all. Green ones give you 3k at best. Using them is a waste of time.
Make Puddings/cakes brown and streamers yellow so they appear more. This way we can also cut the grind down by a lot since there are way less offerings to clutter your bloodweb. This game has so much things to increase the grind unnecessary that were good when the game came out and didn't have much content, but now it is just ridiculous.

@Nemmy_Wemmy said:
I like your idea and all but I would actually prefer the opposite. I wish they removed all blood point type stuff and increased blood point gains across the board cuz as of right now I feel like I always have to run we're going to live forever or barbecue and chili or I'm missing out.
But that's post-match blood-point gains.. I guess I would be okay for other perks to get better blood point gains and specific categories in match like survival or brutality.
Anyways what killer do you typically use for bps? @Absolute_Zero
If I go full on farm I go for legion, as I can double stab during feral frenzy to increase brutality and ensure max bloodpoints this way. If I am not in the mood for Legion, I will play Nemesis or Wraith.
Doctor and Clown can farm pretty good too, but I don't enjoy them as much.
And your suggestion about increasing BP gain as a whole would be awesome as well. Maybe we could have both, farming perks AND increased gain? Well, one can dream...
-
I like the changes. Both killer and survivor perks look good and quite balanced. Good job!
But i STILL want a perk for killers that increase Brutality like distressing does, so I can go full BP mode :D

I don't see why there would be any need for compensation, and also, where do you draw the line as to who gets compensated and who doesn't?
Like if you purchased an item from a store, and a few months later it is on super sale at 75% off, do you go to the store and ask that you get some money back? No. You played the game, you spent your BP, its just one of those things.
It would just be nice to have something.
The line could just be something like:
On this character he has x amount of perks, so he had to go through y amount of bloodwebs, so he gets z amount of whatever. Like bloodbpoints (not a full compensation, just something) or whatever.
-
The update sounds great!
Just curious, will the players who grinded the perks in the current system get a reward or something? Like they did with legacy when they reduced the grind the first time.
I'm not asking for something big, just something so it doesn't feel like I "wasted" all those bloodpoints to P3 MAX my characters....
But anyway, the update sounds great and needed.
The only thing scaring me now is the nurse nerf....
-
I didn't study IT-technology, but as a physicist I think to know at least some things about it.
The Ping you get to a Killer, is not determined by DL/UL - rate, rather than other factors.
While DL/UL does affect the ping, it is relatively small once you pass a certain threshold (which is pretty small, pretty much every Internet these days is way above)
What really matters are things like this:
- Distance to the Server (in this case the Killer) -> more distance, the more the data has to travel
- How many people are on the same line as you -> are in your neighborhood many people online right now? how much data do they use, maybe they are taking more than the line can handle
- How does your provider/the switches on the line connect you to the server? -> maybe you are getting connected over another line because the direct way is blocked, so there is in the end more distance to the server
- How is the quality of the line? -> Copper cable? Fiber? Old/new?
- When you go a wireless way, the weather if you are connected to a Sending tower (Phones), how are the walls affecting the router signal,....
You see, these are just some things affecting ping. There are many reasons you can get bad ping.
DbD is a peer to peer connection, which means pretty much everything is DOUBLED, as the Host has the same ping-changing things, unlike most servers, which are on their own line. It doesn't have to be your lines fault or the hosts, it is in most cases something even the best UL/DL doesn't change at all.
Maybe you understand it better now.

That kill rate is freaking worthless thanks to it being a total value.
It says that PC Killers at their worst (Legion) have a 50% kill rate and at their best (Hag) has 66%. Overall that doesn't seem that bad but ti just doesn't fit their other data such as Survivor survival rates by rank. Ignoring rank 20 and 1 due to the current pipping system messing with that data too much and you have a 40%-60% split from rank 19 to rank 2.
That means Killers have a kill rate of 60 at its highest for low ranks and a 40% in high ranks. 40% kill rate is console Nurse levels of bad according to their Killer kill stats. Console Nurse is ######### painful to play with how hard it is to do anything. Poor FPS and analog control makes for near impossible blinks due to having no fine control and a Nurse without good blinks just can't do anything. And yet high rank PC kill rates equal to the WORST console total kill rates! Look at Killer use sorted by rank. High ranks (1-4) is dominated by Nurse thanks to Nurse being god tier but high rank kill rates is at their worst and Nurse isn't even LISTED in the PC Killer kill rate. The best Killer on PC, the most used ranking Killer on PC, isn't even listed in PC kill rates.
It just doesn't add up at all. One stat is countering another all thanks to one being sorted by ranks and the other not. There isn't enough data for us to work with to get any real conclusions, but what is given more or less confirms that Killers as a whole are underpowered when skill becomes a factor.
Survivors survive more often as they get more skill/rank, that means Killers kill less as skill/rank goes up. It makes a VERY poor game balance as one side has room to get better through skill while the other does not. Looking at perk use supports this as well.
Killer perk data is filled with perks that slow/stall the game or makes killing faster. Ruin and Sloppy Butcher both stall for time, BBQ and Nurse's both reduce downtime. All of them are focused either stalling for time or cutting time out. Meanwhile Survivor top perks are filled with NOTHING that helps them do things faster, just 2nd chances.
That reads to me that Killers are desperate to get their objective done and can't do it on their own. While Survivors don't have to worry about much and can purely focus on themselves instead of the team.
That is a pretty accurate comment.
And the devs have once stated that DC's are treated as kills.
So do the 3v1 games where the Survivors lose a whole teammate.
Take this into account (especially when DC's are as rampant as now), Killers are pretty hard underpowered.
-
The killers aura reading perks are ALL really easily countered without much effort. Just learn the counters and they are useless for him.

I rest my case, a clear case of the game should be made for how I want to play, screw the devs and every other player I want it my way.
competitive balance will ALWAYS be better than casual balance
Are you aware this isn't a competitive game ?
There are no means for this to be a competitive game, what Skill you have and others don't ? You are good at running around a car, or wait, you are good at strategicaly defending the hook ? spare me some timethis game was meant as a casual / have fun with friends game, not for wanna be's go pro dudes
Yea, not competitive at all... -
Did you actually read the thread? @HellDescent
-
On wraith, distressing is not the best choice, while on a trapper for example that perk can do wonders in terms of points. Or Thrill on nurse since she has trouble getting points there because her chases are that short.
Some killers have a harder time getting points in specific categories than others.
Survivors for example have a hard time getting points in Survival. Boldness is full after one or two chases for example.Bloodpoint perks CAN give you more points, they don't have to. Like Doc with distressing, since you would max out on deviousness most of the times anyway.
Why not give Players at least the opportunity to rack up points faster while the risk of the perk actually being useless is present. And by giving bloodpoint bonuses to weak perks, they would maybe see some play and MAYBE shift the meta a little bit. I don't think it would hurt the game, so why not try it? -
Why should they? Camping is no reportable/bannable offense.mendo222 said:If they banned maybe console killers won’t camp

Intentionally deranking: Yes, it is bannable (WITH A HUGE ASTERISK, READ ON). If your are intentionally dying in your games to lower your rank, you are hurting the other people in the game by ruining their experience and making it tougher on them. Though these days it's much easier to do something and still derank, so you could still do something to help the team and derank in the end if you really want.Basically, just don't throw the game, that's all. Be considerate of the other people in the lobby who aren't trying to derank. If you're commited to deranking, at least do some generators or something first. Don't just make a beeline to the killer and die as soon as possible because you're making it into a 3v1 and that's not fair to everyone else.
Staying AFK: Not really. Sometimes people go AFK. Sometimes the dog pees on the rug. Sometimes someone comes to the door. Sometimes you forget that you're queuing for a game and walk away from the computer. We'd have to be able to tell that you're intentionally doing it on a regular basis for it to become a problem. It's still preferable that you don't do it just because that does make the game boring for everyone else.
Farming: Farming at someone else's expense is. e.g. If someone is working with the killer to lead them to other survivors, sandbagging, then farming them on the hook for points- that is bannable. When farming crosses into griefing, that's a problem.
Macros (wiggling, etc.): No. We don't ban for that. Though it's a use at your own risk type deal because if EAC picks up on it and automatically bans you for it, we won't be able to help you.
Macros (botting): Yes, that is bannable. Don't do that.
Thank you for the response. Am i allowed to save this so when the question comes up again (in steam forum, as the mods are quite inactive lately) i can give them a clear answer?
-
@FSB75
Good point. So as long as the devs don't say otherwise, i will see macros as "no bannable offense". Your logic applies perfect in this case.
I think this thread is done for now.
Have a nice day everyone

if you mean the flashspam macro used to crash the killers pc, im pretty sure this falls under exploits. but once again, it's a "MAYBE".Nah not the crash, it's the machine-gun Flash-light where they can make you blind for an infinite duration unless you turn 360 or the other way around. Very overpowered and consumes less battery
Ok that one is new to me, haven't encountered that so far.
-
@FSB75
It isn't a matter of internet, it's a matter of the hosts pc. if the pc isn't high end (normal laptops for example) then there is a high chance the pc can't process the high amount of activation/deactivation of a flashlight and then causes the game (sometimes even the pc) to crash. This is easily achieved with macros (but in absurd high clicks per second).
I have already encountered multiple of these guys (but i have a high end pc, so i can just laugh at them :chuffed: )The thing about detecting macros is, if you use macros based on software (3rd party software) there is a chance EAC flags you as cheater. If you use hardware macros then it is undetectable for EAC. But the question is, are macros bannable or not? Some people say yes, some no (personally i say no, because why ban someone for using a macro for wiggle/struggle, it gives no ingame advantage and is only used to not use the keys in unnecessary ways)
-
NOOO! I got outgoogled! :'(

That would be nice, while it doesn't affect gameplay much, i like knowing where i am at with my points.
