Current strong killers are super boring to go against
Krasue, Jason, Nurse, Oni, Stranger Things Vecna, Twins. All boring to face in pretty sure nobody would complain if any of the low tier killers were buffed in meaningful ways to give the game diversity ๐

The problem is they usually dont buff killers in ways that makes them interesting to go against. We get make a wish rework myers that destroys any semblance of the character's identity and turns him into another brainless dash slop pallet smasher.
honestly would rather go against OG iri head than play against Jason and Krasue literally melatonin
Diversity? How many Twins, Krasues, and Henrys do you see? Ghoul, on the other hand...
my thing with this is one idea that many other people have, make the weaker and unused killers (like hag) give you extra blood points for playing them, behavior is just gonna ride on the same bs "oh let us rework the killer" but that takes like 300 years and sometimes they don't bat a single eye to the killers that they say will be "reworked" in the future.
one of the three every 2 games super boring even with friends they just get off because thereโs no diversity at high mmr ๐
What's wrong with Oni? I would love to see more Oni.
made him super easy
They removed a lot of the skill to play him so it's annoying to play against him when he can prettymuch 360 you.
Totally agree with krasue, jason and nurse. All are very unfun to go against.
As for oni, henry and twins? Personally i kinda like playing against them. Henry's attack is all about the mindgame and I actually really enjoy the process of dodging his vines. Oni can be a bit frustrating when he one bangs you but again he is dodgeable. And twins I only see once in a blue moon. They do tend to be a bit sluggy but it can be countered and punting victor always makes me chuckle.
Only ghoul is uga buga. Love the rest.
Seems that you don't like the strong chase killers. How would you go about buffing weaker killers without giving them a stronger chase ability? Keep in mind that every survivor hates longer gen times. Seems to me the only way to do that is map mobility but you don't like Jason or Oni and mobility is their main strength.
Yeah the turn change was awful, now it's find a pallet or die against a good one.
Maybe its just a mixture of my region, MMR bracket, and the times of day I play, but I get a surprising amount of Henry's and Krasues, and I swear over the past 3 years I've played against all 15 twins players in NA at least twice each. So whenever I get a game that isn't Jason, Ghoul, or Nurse, its a Krause/Henry or the occasional 1% pickrate killer from the rest of the roster. Something funny like a Clown or Pig. But that's one out of every 10 games probably on a good day. I once had 4 Ghoul games back-to-back, broken up by 2 back-to-back Nurse games, then a Henry, then back to Ghoul, then Nurse again, and a Henry again. Let's just say I didn't have a good time playing that day, and went outside to go stare at grass. Watching it grow was genuinely more entertaining than playing competitive dead by daylight every match with Timmy-Two-Hook and Pre-Drop-Patty on my team
I get a good mixture. My 30-day ER is always between 50-60% so I don't think I'm in the baby leagues, but I almost never see Krasue. I don't think I've seen more than 30 total and I play hundreds of matches a month. I did get three Twins in one week though. Didn't enjoy that.
I'm a Henry main in NA so maybe it's me you're seeing if you play late at night.
As always, it depends on what you mean by 'buff.'
Michael was a 'low-tier' that got 'buffed' and is now a disaster gameplay-wise.
I personally think Vecna2 is a pretty good standard for killer design, strong anti-camp, requires two hits before lethality, high skill-floor but decent skill ceiling, map travel is fair, etc etc.
Bringing every killer to A-S tier would require substantial survivor buffs to compensate, which I doubt would be received well.
Myers didnt get buffed, he got reworked. Big difference. Every rework was utterly bad so far.
Something that BHVR is probably never going to grapple with is that most of the strong killers are strong because they remove skill expression from the other side, either directly by removing mechanics (Nurse-Pallets, Blight/Ghoul making distance, etc) or indirectly by being extremely good at tunnelling/slugging/camping. If you're not given the opportunity to reset and have to start the chase with the killer on your ass and in deep wound, even a good looper is going to go down much faster than a poor looper who starts in a better position. It also removes that survivor's ability to use healing perks, medkits, toolboxes, etc.
That's an 'issue' with a lot low tier killers. They allow survivor skill expression, both in being able to actually counter them intuitively and without a ton of coordination, and in their mistakes mattering, which especially recent killers get to be far spammier, and so their mistakes matter very little. But strength does not entirely correlate to fun or engaging gameplay. I'm fairly certain almost all survivors would rather go against a hundred (non-slugging) Billies than any EndFury Bubbas simply because the gameplay and decision making in the latter's case is totally braindead and allows little to no skill expression. Or Blood Favor, which prevents looping, with Blight/Ghoul who you can't make distance from after a hit. There's no actual gameplay or decision making there on either side.
It's a legitimate issue on the other side too. Actual gen rushing is moronic and allows no counter play. It just requires far more coordination and skill, so is much rarer. The kind of thing that a game health update would work to address. Too bad DBD never had one of those.
Most of the strong killers are strong because their powers or preferred playstyle don't allow a wide array of survivor perks or skill expression. Or even resources in the case of Nurse. Or the skill expression needed is coordination, which isn't reasonable for solo players. The mobility to disrupt at a distance but still tunnel being the most obvious. Camping as well, especially with killers who can invalidate unhook protections.
Weaker killers are mostly weaker because they allow counter play. Because their mistakes, or outplaying them matters. But strength vs skill expression is still not 1:1. Almost every survivor would rather play against a hundred (non-slugging) Billies than even a few EndFury Bubbas. Counterplay existing is not sufficient if it still doesn't allow actual agency and decision making. To say nothing of grotesquely idiotic stuff like Blood Favor on any killer that counters making distance like Blight and Ghoul. You just go lose the chase immediately with no recourse.
BHVR is probably never going to grapple with the meta being to do as much as possible to remove game mechanics and skill expression. It's a legitimate issue on the survivor side too (eg extreme gen rushing), but requires much more skill and coordination, so is much rarer.
It's all subjective.
You think the Nurse is boring, but for me she is my favorite killer to face in the game.
If no buffed killer surpases for example the ghoul then nothing changes for the survivor.
This happens due to killers normally being mutually exclusive characters. Buffing trapper meaningfully will not affect any other killer the survivors might face.
Ugh the next example will give me some flak but whatever. Survivors are likemiddle A tier on a killer list, what do they care if B- to F tiers get buffed to B+?
Youve seen those groundbreaking GF and Doc buffs, B+ is me being generous.
Edit: Yes Survivor is at least A tier when judged with good players in mind, else Nurse on S wouldnt make sense either, cant have it both ways.
Try playing against nurse in EU on high MMR. Those people will show you no mercy.
Krasue and Vecna 2.0 are hot takes.
Krasue gains no bloodlust, so if you predrop pallet you can loop her around untill 50/50 and if you win it you go again. It's very effective way. It's all about paying attention, also if her heart glows and you do spin there is very high chance she will be locked in her lunge. Not even talking about bodyblocking and long pallet stuns. P100 Krasue, trust me. She's not very strong if you know what to do. It's like Twins, I understand that they are very hard to deal with in solo q. But all you have to do is play in duo and Twins won't be able to utilize their hard slugging tool which is pretty much the only way for them to get pressure. This will force Charlotte to go for pick up which will be further time-wasting for them. Victor can't hit you over stairs or if you crouch at the higher end of the pallet and touch it. There is also one very good counterplay to Victor. Again P100 Twins freshly. Lockers are good counter to Twins that no many people really utilize. It's very important to know where Charlotte is because you can choose from two scenarios. 1) Charlotte is further away and you can crush Victor for free before she reaches you. 2) You jump into locker as Victor charges pounce, now he has to cancel, you jump out, he charges again you jump in. It's very reliable counterplay, not easiest when toy sword add on is in play but still managable. Now I hope I won't meet many people from here as Twins, because against people who can utilize that, you can't really do much.
Nurse and First are yin and yan. Nurse dictates if you gonna die in 30s or not and there is not much to do about it. Neither spotcheking, neither double back works against good Nurse. Average to bad Nurse will be somewhat okish to go against. And with her lunge add on nerf they won't be carried by bad blinks as much. Vecna on the other hand is completely designed around guessing. While he plays map like it's a field with absolutely nothing he still is completely hit or miss guessing type of killer who will miss 10x and then hit 2x in a row because of lucky guess. I understand this guessing gameplay isn't very engaging for either side. But with his nefs (not so big) he's in very decent spot where he can't spam the power for that long as he used to.
So Nurse, Jason yes I agree on.
Oni is a hot topic too. If you play safe against him even if you waste most resources quickly, delay his power as much as possible. He won't be able to snowball if you create enough pressure.
I do enjoy playing against jason and nurse, but blight and ghoul are very bland for me.
There is also very little skill expression with Ghoul, Vecna 2 or Jason. They all play the same way, are too easy to win with, and for survivors it's like playing against a bot. Although I must say I enjoy playing against Ghoul a lot more than I used to. Maybe I'm glad it's not Jason, who knows.
This ^
You say that like it's not something I already expect. I started playing in 2018 back when every third killer was a Nurse. I used to get my face blink-smashed in on the regular, often by Nurses with 3-4 blinks. That's how I got good at looping them and acquired a taste for looping them.
I used to not mind her before all these auras perks; Nowhere to Hide is exactly when I started to despise Nurse and Blight
I loved abusing them with Fixated
I know Krasue has a high kill rate but with how little I see her I'd rather verse a krasue for a change of pace.
Seeing blights that all run near identical builds becomes a bit of a snooze
Honestly same.
At least with Nurse the game will go 2 ways. We lose in 5 minutes. Or we have a semi competent nurse that has a fun mind game match.
Although she is still unhealthy for this game. Id rather they fix her bugs
