  • Oh yeah! It’s cool to see how people adjust their gameplay and personalize their experience. I’ve got a pretty decent list tho lol.

    Killer:

    • Never use add-ons, offerings, or NOED
    • Go for unhooker unless in extreme scenarios
    • Don’t camp the hook if I can’t find someone there in under 10 or so seconds
    • If someone sandbags/sells out their teammate, I try my hardest to kill that person
    • If it’s down to 2 or 3 survivors and someone is clearly just waiting for the others to die, I try to juggle them til I find the hider
    • My DC system (assuming the dc wasn’t mid to late game) is to two hook the remaining 3, then if a second dc’s, the last 2 get to farm, and if a third dc’s I directly message the last person
    • If I’m bodying them then I try to make sure their bp isn’t atrocious by the time they die
    • If one person was hard carrying the team I’ll try to give them hatch (or at least the chance at hatch)
    • I try to 3 hook everyone, and do alternate hooks, but ultimately this gets decided by how the game is going

    Survivor:

    • Used to be I couldn’t run old mettle or old DS but now I don’t mind, tho I rarely do
    • No items or offerings
    • No exhaustion perks (for about 90% of matches, I’ll occasionally use one when playing a survivor I don’t normally run)
    • No clicky clicky unless it’s at teammates
    • Never leave someone behind, like ever, idc if they’re being Facecamped with NOED I’ll still try lol worst case scenario we both die and killer gets some more bp
    • If the killer gets rekt I tend to go back in so they can kill me after everyone else is out

    In general

    • Never DC
    • If I get destroyed, send them a gg
    • Try not to get frustrated? That’s a tough one

All in all I try to follow my rules, and strike a balance between playing to win and making sure the other people don’t have a miserable time. On incredibly rare occasions I’ll disregard my rules if I’m playing against someone (or a group) that I recognize and know actively tries to ruin other people’s fun (I’m talking straight harassment). Things are always subject to change tho.

In the end, I get why a lot of people have their own rule sets, or none at all, and that’s chill I just like to play my own way.

  • Enduring with Spirit Fury. Makes it so that those pallets that get destroyed by SF barely phase you. It’s not a guaranteed hit, but it’s as close as you’ll get really. Even in maps with lots of pallets, survivors tend to wait around loops so as long as you are confident you can find them if they break LOS for a few seconds, you’ll do fine.

  • I’m with you in that DCing should be punished harder, tho an immediate full de-rank will cause more problems then solve them. As far as mori’s go, I think they’re in as good of a stage as we can get. Using them before survivors can be hooked makes that game a cake walk and ruins the possibility of escape for anyone below red ranks. Conversely, while it is nice that you wait to use the mori, making it a two hook requirement makes it a fancier looking death hook animation yknow? And the mori’s should be used more for your satisfaction, not for bp. Otherwise everyone will be running mori’s and you’ll start losing your playerbase. If you don’t get enjoyment out of the mori, and only bp or stomping your opponents, then I’m sorry lol. But the best option is the one we have currently, at least to my knowledge.

  • He’s definitely up there. The fact that he’s synonymous with basement and camping/insidious should easily tell you the popular opinion of him. His chainsaw is only good at a hook essentially, and it removes any other playstyles since if you get a chainsaw on someone, you probably could’ve gotten them thru M1 by that point.

This is where we have a problem then and it's similar to an issue I have with those who say things like 'I play both sides' and 'as a killer-main'.

When I say that the 'killers think they deserve to 4k' meme is an absolute lie, I'm saying it's an absolute lie, but this does not mean no killer ever said that: it means that survivors are lying in their characterisation of killers like this. This is what I meant in my first post which you responded to, but you responded with 'nothing Rakim said regarding survivor memes was untrue', which directly contradicts with what I hold to be an absolute factual truth. Anyone who disputes it but then does not support the counter-factual claim; that 'killers think they deserve to 4k' has some justification at all, is not on my side and is not truthful.

If it's a choice between saying what is true and saying what is 'constructive', then toxicity is utterly vital. The divide between different players has to exist, it has to be adversarial and at least one side has to not compromise on matters of fact or honesty as that is the only true moderating influence. I know things are healthy when survivors are complaining that this forum is 'a killer echo-chamber'.

You bring up great points. We view the situation differently, which is good. I’ve said this before, tho it wasn’t the main point then, but my hope isn’t to remove toxicity, just reduce it. I mentioned it somewhere in here, sorry I don’t know where, but I referenced that removing toxicity would be “impossible but also immoral”. We need disagreements to build better things, and that’s my mistake on misunderstanding your take on the 4K issue. This whole time I was assuming you were saying that those individuals didn’t exist, not that your problem was with the exaggeration and unreasonable characterization of killers as a whole. My ultimate goal isn’t to remove disagreements. I just hope that we can create a community and a game where death threats aren’t a norm. I know you can block people, I think that’s the best current solution, but the lack of understanding for another side, and the vile behavior and communication, seems abhorrent. I’ve played Xbox for years, hatemail isn’t unusual, but the sheer volume of dc’s, hate messages, and disregard for others is something I’d like to improve on, even if it’s only in my interactions.

  • I don’t mind being camped as long as my teammates play smart. You gotta figure a killer does it either because 1) it’s worked for them before, or 2) they really hate you lol. You can’t change the second one, but if it’s the first one, then gen rush and get out to deny killer pips and points. Otherwise, go for that endgame save if you can, but be wary.

  • I’m gonna try and bridge the gap here. Keep the skepticism, but don’t assume the worst. They said they’d focus on the add-ons, but the fact that they mentioned her base kit does leave me a little concerned. Ultimately, don’t assume the worst, but if it is unreasonable then try your best to change it.

I want to hear the whine in their voice when they cry for me. You can't escape the sore losers so like Ro I've learned to enjoy it.

I can only do that against the ones I know are whiny or entitled, but I’m glad you can get some joy out of it.

We are not even remotely close to being on the same page. I think people who say 'killers think they deserve to 4k' are telling a lie, knowingly or not. Despite reading and re-reading, I have no idea what you think on this.

But if you can't adopt a clear position on an unambigious question of truth, you aren't interested in the truth.

Then let me summarize it for you, if that helps. I think toxicity exists on both sides, and I think entitlement exists on both sides. I think that survivors are more toxic than killers due to exposure and mentality. That being said, if I’m gonna specifically address the 4K problem, I do believe there are some killers who feel entitled to 4k’s unreasonably. I think they are rare, and they do not represent the whole. However, even though more problems lie within the survivor side, I think it is integral to acknowledge that some select killers are unreasonable. In this way, we can build common ground with survivors to bridge the gap between us. By denying all claims and attacking those trying to help, we remove our ability to work together. If you want survivors to be less toxic, we have to recognize this fact. Otherwise, instead of being seen as a defender of killers like you are trying to do, you will be seen as evidence of an “unreasonable, toxic killer who can’t see reason” (that’s a synopsis pulled from a message I received over a year ago). If we cannot recognize any fault with our side, then the other side will do the same. If you still don’t want to believe that, that’s okay, we’ve been pushed around so long I don’t blame you. But it will never fix the problem, and as such we’ll have to get frustrated over these issues much more than we should over and over.

  • Only 60%? I appreciate the skepticism lol. The problem with narrowing down discussion topics on forums like this is that it removes the flexibility of a persons opinions and views. For example, do I think NOED should be nerfed? No. The fact that is has such clear cut counters and can be destroyed before even being used should tell you it’s not OP. Therefore, I main killer because bla bla bla. Conversely, I don’t run NOED, I think it gives me too much of an advantage if I played poorly that match. Therefore I’m a survivor main bla bla bla. When you force narratives on to people, like the 4K killer has been forced on to us, it removes the possibility of them holding other beliefs and changing opinions. So, you admitted that there were a few outliers of killers that are unreasonable, that’s all I’m saying. We’re almost on the same page. The reason why it has to be brought up, even though it’s not as big an issue, is because demanding things of others without at least acknowledging something wrong on your end doesn’t help us improve a situation. Only worsen it.

I'm not talking about someone directly stating or using the literal same words: I'm talking about 'killers deserve to 4k' being projected onto killers in different guises, as if it were a view that has ever been expressed by more than a handful of non-notable people over 3 years.

If we compare, then survivors haven't literally said by the same standard 'I should escape every game', but they have in fact argued it to that effect and do so almost every single day. When ever the issue of hook-camping is brought up, their response to being reminded that the counter is do the gens the let the hooked person die is: but what about the guy on the hook?

This counter has a 75% win-rate on-paper, the chance of not being the guy who dies on the hook. That isn't good enough, so what is? They literally do want every single survivor to escape every game; a non-perfect win is never a win. This is where I think the meme about 'killers think they deserve 4k' comes from: it's survivors projecting their own basic AF mindset.

I hear that. Killers get a bad rap, especially since a lot of what we do is predicated on what the survivors in a match do. Can’t call me a camper when you’re trying to loop me AT the hook. Not to mention even if the same percentage of killers were toxic as percentage of survivors (which it’s not) it would still mean more survivors cause more problems. I just know that if we label every survivor as one of the ones that want a free escape, then all we do is hurt ourselves by reinforcing that opinion of us being unreasonable that we have tried so long to get rid of since it’s untrue.

  • Started out as a killer main, now I play both. I think it’s super important for people to play both sides, it gives you perspective and helps your gameplay. That being said, I do still like playing killer a bit more, but I think both can have their fun.

Oh god, stop it. This doesn't even attempt to address the point.

You can stop pretending now. This isn't a thread about reducing toxicity; it's about pushing a dishonest narrative.

I actually don’t like talking about killer toxicity, it happens less than survivor toxicity and is more understandable. That being said, recognizing that it exists is important, but aside from the pure fact that it happens sometimes I don’t like speaking about it because it’s not as big an issue.

  • @ArecBalrin said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/598872#Comment_598872

Do you have any examples of killers saying they 'deserve to 4k' or not? Not a week goes by without killers being beaten with this stick and it's an absolute lie.

You said everything in RakimSockem's post was 'not false when it came to survivor-memes' and that 'almost every statement he made is from a discussion post on this forum'. I note the shifty qualifier; 'almost'. This was though your response to me and I had specifically singled-out the zombie-trope of 'killers measure everything by 4k' and it's variations which duplicate the meaning.

To me, that whole thing read as not only perpetuating a lie, but lying about the lie.

I have no problem saying that I’ve never ran into a killer that directly stated “I should 4K every game”. Just like I’ve never ran into a survivor that stated “I should escape every game”. The almost was used for the two pallets and one window example that Rakim brought up, since he stated that he used it as an exaggeration. If you want to use the 4K example then you can go back to how I agree that no one has ever said that. I play more killer than survivor. I’ve played since it first came out on console and get to red rank almost every season. Killers have been beaten to a pulp by this game but its made improvements. Holding a grudge, as tempting as it is for us, can only hold us back. Feel free to go in on those who blatantly tell you killers have no reason to complain tho.

  • Also bring back the super stealth outfits but with the moon bouquets to make it look like you turned your tv off lmao

  • @ArecBalrin said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/598800#Comment_598800

The same goes for you. If you assert that 'killers think they deserve 4k' is an accurate representation of anything a killer has expressed, point to some examples.

If you don't give the slightest care for basic truth, then any pretense to being anti-toxic is just that: a pretense, with no substance.

But I can tho. I know someone who mains billy at rank 10 and up because “no other killer is viable above that level”, and wants all killers to be at least as strong as billy or more (I play on console btw, that’s why nurse wasn’t involved in the argument). I’ve been told that nurse should have her add-ons buffed and that we should go to mori’s being used instantaneously without hooking people. Do they represent all killers? No way, they sure don’t represent me. But they exist. That doesn’t mean we should focus on them, but it does mean we need to dismiss a holier than thou opinion of ourselves when it comes to talking with other people, especially when they want to better everyone’s lives legitimately, not through unfair balance “fixes”. I’ve gotten into arguments defending killers before, I know what you mean about these false narratives, but devoting all our time to destroying those without building up better models won’t help us.

I have been hearing 'killers think they deserve to 4k' for almost three years now and there has only ever been one case where someone who was a killer saying anything like that. That was a troll who was banned on the Steam forum.

Every single other case of it is a survivor-main claiming killers say they deserve 4k, 'all the time'. They never produce an actual example though.

The fact they keep that meme alive is what instantly dispels any notion that they are capable of being honest or fair.

There are plenty of trolls on here I agree, but I also run into people like that irl, not through a random game chat but through individuals I’m friends with and have discussions about these things with. However, allowing those flame-raisers we talk about here to represent the whole group leads to the same mentality of “camper/tunneler” that I know we both have grown tired of over the years. There are people that play survivor who genuinely care about killer balance, not to mention the people who play both sides like me. If someone reaches out a hand, we can’t smack it down because someone else slapped us with theirs.

  • @Swiftblade131 Ayyyy now there’s an idea, I like it. We do have to try and expose each side to the other I totally agree. I play both sides, and recommend everyone do, but I know that forcing others to do that isn’t the right solution. I like that conference idea, you could get representatives (or a poll) and have moderators to try and help address all the issues. We all have common ground by playing this game, it’s just that we treat it like two separate games. It would obviously need to go through some tweaks, but in the meantime we can try it ourselves. I know I’ve played swf games where I’m trying to respectfully talk to the others about the other side of things. It’s important to recognize we’re on two sides of the same coin, and that tarnishing one side damages the wholeness thing.

  • It’s interesting. And I like the creativity put into it while keeping with mechanics already used in the game. Makes it familiar for players and easier for devs. My concern is that it’s not necessarily a “second objective” so much as adding on to the primary objective. You said you can’t do gens without the keys right? So this becomes another step in the process, albeit a more complex one. It’s not bad by any means tho, I kinda like it, I’m just thinking that calling it a secondary objective is misleading. That implies it’s either not necessary or can be performed in conjunction with the primary objective. At least that’s what I think, but you put some thought into this so you tell me :)

As grand as it would be to see.

The change you are asking for is like draining a sewer that has been overflowing and blocked for the past 3 years and new crap keeps getting tossed in.

It's just not feasible and will take a long time if it ever happens.

“The best time to plant a tree was yesterday, the second best time is right now”. I appreciate your analogy, it’s honestly pretty fitting. I’m not hoping for us to revolutionize the way the community interacts with itself, there will always be jerks and victim-criers. But there are so many more people than just those who get caught up and go along with that mentality without ever attempting to change it. Taking steps to improve these things will help the game live longer, not just because of longevity, but because of new and old players enjoying themselves more without ending so many matches in frustration. It will take time. And it will take some patience. But progress is progress and every bit counts.

    I respect your devotion.

Thank you, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows lol. But I know the potential is there. I know someone with over 500 friends added, and most of them are from the other side of whatever they were playing. It’s a mix of every rank, killer and survivor mains alike, but it shows what things could be. Should everyone be like that? God no but a little bit can go a long way.

    Mute buttons exist

Anyone that gains a victim complex from voice chats when a mute option is present is wanting to be a victim.

I agree that that should be the solution currently, but that fails to address the heart of the issue. We shouldn’t need to mute multiple people a day, or block people every week. While it is the best solution we can recommend to people rn, there should be some effort to reduce these problems before it reaches that point. Otherwise everyone just plays in their bubbles of safety, which isn’t good for the game or the players.

  • @Shaped said:

People will always find a way to be toxic. Most humans are toxic imo. You can't fight it and win.

You’re got a point lmao but I’m not trying to extinguish it, I’m just hoping we can reduce it. I’m not gonna lay down and say there’s no point in trying here, just like how I won’t condemn the human race because of their real toxicity either. We may not be able to stop all toxicity, that seems impossible and immoral tbh, but making steps to reduce the negativity can help out new and old players alike.

Survivors literally invented treating the other side as non-persons and inventing opinions that killers supposedly have and say is part of that. The fact you spout those survivor-memes about what killers supposedly say undermines any claim to fair-mindedness.

Killers responding with the same low-standards are usually critical of those standards, but they're the standards survivors set and maintain. The penny still won't drop no matter how many times it gets explained though.

Killers will stop telling the truth about survivors when survivors stop telling lies about us.

I get the frustration, I really do. I’ve had to block people before because they would continually message me for days spouting their arrogance. But we see more of the survivor toxicity because we have more exposure. Nothing that @RakimSockem said was false when it came to “survivor memes”, as evidenced by the fact that almost every statement he made is from a discussion posted on this very forum. They may not represent everyone, in fact I highly doubt it, but they are still seen. I understand why survivors can tick you off but fighting fire with fire here only burns the whole place down. You want survivors to be less toxic? You have to do the same, and be willing to recognize when you do so. Jerks will be jerks and none of us are gonna become these beacons of morality but the other side won’t stop til we stop too. It’s a cycle, and if we want to break it we have to be the change. Otherwise, we’ll all feel annoyed at every other match we play, which just isn’t healthy.

AH = "as hell" like, REALLY acurate for you to get the grab the exact moment the survivor was going into the hatch and ending the phasing in the precise moment you had to do so

Appreciate the knowledge lol and yeah, when I came out of phasing they were in the air, and I had to use the post phase speed boost to reach them in time 😬

  • @Carlosylu you bet I recorded it lol and wdym by “AH” sorry? 😂

  • I mean, yours are pretty much mine lol, my only addition would be when I pulled someone off of hatch from my spirit phase. It was close but so satisfying, especially since they were the rude one of the 4.

Do you mean go do it? Or is it on accident? I know I’d be pretty satisfied either way lmao. Tho one time I chainsawed around the map for over a whole minute before I ran into the last survivor, who I thought would get the hatch. Pretty nice surprise lol

  • @ElusivePukka said:

Honestly? Every time an experimental build works. I already know I can kill 2-4 people per game playing optimally, despite maining a killer who won't be A-list in my lifetime :P

But every time I deviate from the norm and try playing in weird ways, and it manages to actually work, that's a thing and a half for me to be pleased with.

I'm also proud when I'm aware I filled an emblem in game.. maybe not proud, just excited. Same with if I know I completed my dailies - I'm probably gonna adore the Archives :P

Ooooo that is good. I don’t do that a lot with builds but I’ve def been in games and gone “I wonder...”, then proceeded to shrek whoever I was chasing. That successful adaptation is so so nice, and really makes you feel like you’ve improved.

  • @ElusivePukka said:

    I don't find moments of pride when I play survivor - it's why I'm a killer main.

Moments of relief, sure - I get the hatch quite a lot, and despite wearing the brightest cosmetics in the game (that aren't neon) I still somehow get overlooked in a corner sometimes. Moments I'm proud of a teammate are more common, because I'm something of a teacher in my groups - everything they know about looping, prioritizing, and coordination is based on things I helped them learn.

You know, a five-gen chase would count. I've done three in total against players that I actually count - many more against potatoes, but one of the good ones I never got downed. I was proud of that, but moreover I was just aware of how lucky I was.

Hey, feeling proud of others is just as good. I had to teach a friend killer and survivor tactics, and I was with him the first time he hit rank 10, and the first time he hit rank 1. They grow up so fast 😭

  • Honestly, feel free to go wild with headcannons here. I know I’ve thought about this a few times. In particular, I always imagined that Jake would climb one of the trees and sit on a branch with his back to the trunk, in that typical one leg hanging and the other propped up fashion.

  • Yeah no. I get that it got nerfed hard compared to what it was before, but that’s because it was dummy thicc with power, forget normal OP. I didn’t even run it out of pure sympathy for killers. It’s in a great state rn, as evidenced by plenty of people still using it and very few still complaining about it. If we went super in depth I’d say it might even need a slightly shorter stun, but that’s just nitpicking at that point. I’m really glad you play both sides, I think that’s really important and more people should do it, but DS lasts as long as it should. Any longer and it starts merging back into OP territory.

  • Tunneling is an issue depending on who is involved. From a purely competitive stand point, it makes sense that the killer would want to remove one survivor as quick as possible to reduce the chances of that team winning by forcing a 3v1. Realistically, it’s a jerk move. I’m not gonna rag on the people that do it, they can play how they want and it’s not game-breaking, but it’s still a bit of a jerk move. I don’t recommend doing it as killer, purely so you can get better at the game. Conversely, as a survivor, like @WildDovami said, use it as a chance to get better. Getting tunneled is great for me when it’s a 5 gen chase, and while that def won’t happen every time, it can force you to improve even without you realizing.

  • I’ve gotten all achievements (aside from Bill’s new ones, I’m on Xbox) and while Left Behind has me worried, nothing compares to Skilled Huntress. Like 100 hatchet DOWNS from OVER 24 meters away?? With a controller?? None of the other achievements forced me to go so out of the way more than that one. A lot of the achievements take time, and some of them are pretty tough, but Skilled Huntress wins this contest by a landslide.

My build was Nurse's, BBQ, Surv, Rancor, Zblock, Masterpiece. I would just control gens so hard with Surv and keep everyone asleep all the time. Literally you would wake up and I would put you to sleep immediately, there was no reprieve. But I also had to sweat my balls off which is why I just eventually settled on doing Ruin/NOED combo, as it meant I could almost play with my eyes closed and still win.

I like new Freddy but I will miss some of the old tactics. Especially Rancor, that perk was so amazing for him because the obsession never saw it coming (since they would need to be asleep when a gen pops to see the aura). I will also miss my super OP builds for Freddy that were IMO impossible to escape unless I literally told you my build before the game.

But as it stands now, I'm just a monster with new Freddy. 4k 4/5gen like 6 or so games I've managed to play yesterday.

Ayyy I loved running rancor on freddy it was one of my favorite things lol. Glad to hear the reworks treating you well, I’m outta town so I haven’t been able to play him, and won’t be able to til Sunday. I’m hyped to get some hours in. I’ve rarely ever ran add-ons before, even with how much I’ve played, but those dream pallets seem too fun to not mess around with.

  • @Chuckyyo said:

To me it's overcoming a group vurvivors who play well, but who also think they are very smart and try to bully and be toxic at every occasion. The kind of SWF where you start a chase and immediately have someone else clicking a flashlight at you, t-bagging at every occasion, 3 people coming to bodyblock on first hook etc. Nothing beats the feeling of succesfully killing of such a group one by one. You can literally imagine how their smiles slowly fade as they don't t-bag and mess around anymore but just run for their lives. And then you give them the slow up and down nod when they die :D

You’re speaking factssss bro, that is by far one of the most satisfying things to do. Dominating newer/respectful people doesn’t feel quite right, you wanna give them some extra chances. But stomping people that deserve it? Priceless. I remember I had a game as wraith on the barn once where I loaded in to a dude with Object, an insta heal, the whole nine yards. He was tea bagging and always had loops prepped to go. He was pretty good too but I just...ignored him. Killed the rest of the team then went after him and made short work of it. That’s the sad part, he had a good team, they got 3 gens done, but he never did anything. All I had to do was look at him to get him to tunnel vision me lol

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Before the update, I was told on numerous occasions that I'm the best Freddy at rank 1. I would play without Ruin or NOED and still body SWF groups. One was actually some friends I mentioned in the Xbox thread that are the few survivor mains of that group, really good ones too. I had them all dead to rights but only got a 2k because they found a key >.> just my luck.

But since I stopped playing Freddy as much, the past like 2 months I just run Ruin/NOED combo so I can have chill games. Still, I don't think any survivors even made it to end game against my Freddy, so it honestly didn't even matter I had NOED. It was just insurance so that I won't get bullied.

I've also been told I'm a really good Spirit, GF and Huntress (when I mained her). One group, I felt so bad for these guys, I had a Spirit daily and just treated it like a normal game. Completely crushed them. The David had NM and DS, he was the best of the group but still an easy catch (even disregarding NM). The Meg was decent, but the other two were low ranks, like 14 and 18 or something. After the game David's like "wow your really good why are you rank 7??" and it was because rank reset and just not playing as much as I was previously (because queue times are too long). I told him and then mentioned I woulda messed around if I knew 2 of them were such low ranks (I didn't tunnel/camp, but I woulda slugged them or something to farm a bit). Just unlucky I had a daily and was playing my main killer. That's part of the reason I'm avoiding my current Spirit daily xD I just know I'm gonna get some low ranks and it will be like throwing puppies into the lion's den. I can't have that on my conscious.

I’ve never ran NOED, but no ruin? Props bro. Thanks for the addition it’s cool to get people to relax some and see what dope things they’ve done. I feel that key struggle so much thoooo lol and ik what you mean about low ranks. I got put up against a bunch of rank 15’s even tho I was like rank 8 at the time (rank reset) and they were all two hooked before a gen was even 50%, it hits you in the feels lol. Hope you like the Freddy Rework and good luck with those daily’s, tho you’re not the one who needs it lmao

  • I could definitely see an increase happening in the future, but I don’t think it would end up being that simple. I’ve had games, as killer and survivor, where after only one hook is destroyed a dead zone is created where the killer can’t carry a survivor to a hook without them wiggling off. Normally this happens in the corners of a map, but it can also happen in some buildings. Additionally, if you increase it by too much then using those perks you mentioned could make it near impossible to even hook a survivor unless the killer is directly next to a hook. People don’t wiggle off very much I’ll give you that, but ultimately I think it’s more balanced to have them wiggle off not as much compared to too much. I see your point tho. Also as a heads up the window is blocked at 3 times not 2. If that happened to you it was a glitch most likely.

When dedi's come around this shouldn't be an issue anymore. Survivors that DC will leave behind a husk that will let you hook them for points and such. You probably won't get 3 hooks, just 1 or 2 at best, but you will get the Malicious and Devout points.

You actually don't need a 4k to get killer adepts. They say "Merciless Victory" which means a 2 pip. At every rank but red that means you can technically not get a 4k and still get the achievement.

However, IMHO, the achievements should be changed to require 4 sacrifices with the killer's 3 teachables. That would bring it more in line with how the achievements worked before emblems and make it slightly easier since you don't need basically a perfect game. It'd also remove mori's from the equation.

True true, I blanked and forgot that the ranks have different pipping requirements and went off of the red rank system. Also agree on the proposed changes, that’s what I’ve been advocating for.

  • Would I love it? You know I would. Is it feasible? Probably not due to a bunch of reasons but it’s a shame cause this games lore is legitimately interesting, and the sky’s the limit. I just wish lore got more love.

  • Hasn’t actually happened in awhile. But I’d say about 10 or so times I’ve been accused of hacking because I wasn’t running aura perks and there was “no way” I could’ve found them with deduction skills. I’ve also played a lot of swf games where I had to convince the others the killer wasn’t hacking. People have trouble accepting their faults, it’s not something we can fix in a day lol

God forbid you have to kill THREE survivors instead of FOUR, what a negative impact that has on the killer!

I get your point about people complaining about not winning all the time, but this isn’t actually about that. @ggallinftw is complaining about the killer adepts, which require you to get a 4K and 2 pip atm. I know some people might not care about achievements but it’s fair to acknowledge those who do, and if you feel the expectations are unrealistic then we should consider how the achievement works.

  • @ggallinftw Toooo realllll I don’t understand dc’s. And they happen so frequently! I hate having to consciously go “I can’t do this or this survivor might dc” for something as basic as following a survivor towards a hook. There is so much thought that goes into it it’s like I majored in Psychology 😂

My five gen chase with No Mither. This is my most proud moment.

My main struggle is not killer specific. It's actually survivor specific. If they leave someone on the hook too long then I can't get the achievement.

Ah, yeah it took me 3 4K games with GF to get his adept so I know what you mean. You honestly need to guide the survivors playstyle, which is a ridiculous requirement, but until it gets fixed like we want we have to make do.

  • I think it’s a mix of them needing to be looked at, and also being the most annoying killers to go against for survivors (in a general way). Both of them have their problems based on their add-ons as well, which might be easier to adjust.

  • Yeah wait times sure are something. I’d honestly recommend doing something in between matches while waiting, whatever it is is up to you. Point is there’s too much waiting time to just sit there, which is too bad. During swf we play games and mess around, during killer lobbies I make food or do work or play other games lol.

  • I think that this is hugely important, cause too many of us forget what it was like coming in. New players don’t have the knowledge or the experience, and as such have to deal with camping/tunneling and higher skilled players smurfing more than others. For the sake of everyone, even if it can be tough, we have to keep new players in mind.

Killer main here. I know that I tend to get that feeling every time I have a game where I manage to kill all 4 survivors with little to no fuss.

I always feel that when I know that they aren’t baby survivors. If they’re new, I feel like a jerk, but when I know they’re skilled? I feel like the mannnn so I hear that.
