idk if you only have the game on Epic, but the Steam version is currently working for me using Proton 8.0-2, without any changes to config or using the Heroic launcher. (I am currently on Debian 12)
-
This used to happen to me on my laptop when my GPU was overheating and used to thermal throttle. Check with MSI Afterburner your CPU /GPU temperatures while in-game. I had to open up the laptop and replace the thermal paste to control the overheating.

I would appreciate if someone has cracked the math and can help me with this.

That's a neat stats site. Signed myself up, wish I had been taking screenshots of my matches all along. Oh well, going forward.
You can pretty much automate the uploading process by using ShareX and following the instructions on their forum post. https://forum.nightlight.gg/docs?topic=137

I thought that I had come up with a solution using these three Rules :
1. When Stake Out has 0 tokens, there is NO benefit from Stake Out. You only get the benefit of Hyperfocus.
2. When Stake Out has atleast 1 Token AND you hit the Great Skill Check, you get double the benefit of Hyperfocus.
3. When Stake Out has atleast 1 Token AND you do not hit the Great Skill Check, you get the bonus from Hyperfocus + an additional 1% from Stake Out.
But even with these rules, I am still off by about 4-5 seconds from the actual result.
Could you please help suggest where I am going wrong? @Peanits

Do you mean to ask if we're only looking at matches where the MMR of killer and survivors are close to each other? I wouldn't think so, I think we are just looking at matches where the average MMR is within the Top 5% of all matches.
-
Thank you for confirming, that was what I assumed but I wasn't sure.
If you do have a chance, could you also answer my question about hyperfocus math? I have tried various ways of figuring out the calculations, I keep coming close but never completely on point.
Thanks again and have a good day! 🙂

Love the data. Question, what do you think caused the win rate drop from 6.1 - 6.2?
I wish bhvr would allow swf indicators in end game screen so that can also be tracked and mapped up with data like this.
Patch 6.2 only had about 110 games on record when I made the presentation, and some of these were Otz doing a perkless all killer challenge; hence a few losses caused the win rate to drop. Since then upto mid-September, it has gone back up to 73% and I think it will increase even more up to his average as I track more data in 6.2 patch.
Yeah, It would be interesting to see his win rates against 2-man, 3-man and 4-man SWFs and compare them to his averages or win rates against solo queue players.

Tunneling isn't necessary, it just makes things easier. I don't do it, but I know if I did, my "win" rate would spike.
That said, I think if you wanted to pursue a killstreak at good+ MMR, tunneling at points would be necessary, but that's not my mindset. I usually don't care if I 3K or 4K, it's just not that important to me.
And there's a difference between "there's two gens left and I only have like four hooks, I need to get someone out" and just tunneling the first down out every time, which is super lame and the mark of an insecure but sweaty killer.
But yeah, most people with enough experience could carry a 90%+ win rate if they were just sweaty af all the time. There are definitely streamers out there that play that way, and it just seems lame to me. Otz likes to win, but most of the time he plays a pretty considerate and "nice" style.
As for streaking, there are definitely really good killers out there (D3AD is certainly one of them), but even if you carry a 90%+ win rate, you're going to run into death squads enough that long streaks are highly unlikely for even the best killers on earth. At top level, really good SWFs are definitely the strongest thing out there.
I agree, tunneling "for the win" can increase your winrate, but is super boring to watch as it results in stomps more often than not.

Hey guys, I have added 2 more slides to the presentation (11 and 12). Hope you guys like it.

I agree that it's pretty empty talk given that they had been silent on this topic for years. Would have hoped for more than "we'll do things". The 200k number is also not really worth all that much. The game's more than 6 years old, save file modifying had been rampant in past times and probably makes for a good chunk of the bans, and another chunk are bound to be rage-cheaters using free accounts they gave out at multiple points, most of all of course the Epic Store cheater feast - a disaster really, I don't want to know how many thousands of accounts there still are from that in backup, waiting to be used for cheating.
It's disappointing as I have been facing more and more cheaters, subtle and otherwise. MMR and the Epic Store thing have really made this a fairly substantial issue. I would not be surprised if 5% of players in high MMR brackets are cheaters, meaning you will have one in every 4th or 5th game on average. What I have been noticing increasingly more often are subtle wallhacks, which are however still fairly blatant for experienced players. I think these cheats are some of the most popular because you cannot be manually banned with video evidence for this, as no video evidence will ever guarantee someone is wallhacking, even if it is very blatant. They either get caught by EAC or nothing happens. And EAC is infamously terrible at detecting non-public cheats. I personally know about a few players that even admitted to cheating years ago and are not banned to this day. And I've seen others that I suspected of cheating and who turned out to have multiple cheater accusations on their profiles for the same stuff, and they too are still not banned. I have little confidence in EAC.
Here is a suggestion for something that could actually help the game a ton: Implement a function that allows players to save replays of matches to their device, from which they can watch the match from all perspectives and enable/disable auras of every player in them. Not only would this solve the issue of only being able to report a cheater if you happened to have a recording running at the time of the incident, but it would also make it much easier to identify cheating to begin with. You could watch the entire match from the perspective of the suspected player and check for any possible incident, as well as enable player auras to make potential wallhacks obvious.
Not only that, the replay function would also be a tool of gameplay analysis enabling players to get a lot better at the game, understanding the flow of matches, what everyone did in them, how matches were won or lost, mistakes they or anyone made.
You could anonymize all the player names in these replays such that they won't as readily be able to be used to "shame" players or whatever, only of course you'd still have to retain the option to report players from these replays such that the player ID can be identified.
Devs have already stated that in order for the game to have a replay function, the game needs to be built from the ground up to support it. So it's unlikely and possibly quite difficult (not to mention expensive in terms of time and money) to implement a replay system. At this point, the devs have to go ahead with the product they have and include features that can be implemented in a reasonable amount of time like server-side validation etc. (which the devs have already confirmed in their roadmap). I am quite satisfied by the roadmap that they have proposed, now the only question is if they can implement the features they mentioned within the timeline that they have given us.

Otzdarva is a little more proof the game is killer sided. He mostly plays fair as well with that percentage.
I think these stats only prove that if you practice enough and become really good at the game, you can beat the majority of solo queue/ SWF teams. I don't think these stats should be considered for balancing arguments because it's just one person. If the majority of killers at high MMR are having this high a winrate, then we can look at those numbers and see what can/ should be changed.

@Deathstroke said:
I though he would have over 80% win rate but did I see right his win rate dropping below 70% after 6.2+ patch?
It did, but this data only captured 112 games in the 6.2+ patch, so it might have gone up since then. I can post some updates on the patch win rates here in the future if it seems interesting.

How do you figure it’s mediocre? The average kill rate according to the devs is 61%, and the average kill rate on Nightlight is 55%. Regardless of which way you look at it he’s 15-20% above average.
Just to clarify, the figure stated in the summary is his average win rate (percent of games he gets a 3k/4k); his average kill rate over the same time period is 3.048/4 = 76.2%. As you said, devs have noted an average kill rate of 61% according to their stats, so Otz is sitting comfortably above the average. Now whether it is impressive or not, is up to personal opinion. I personally think it's quite an impressive feat to maintain that high a "win rate" on most killers (shown in slide 12).

Yeah, true. A lot of people are unhappy with the mori changes.

Average gens completed is wayyyyy higher than I would have assumed.
Yeah, I think it's because Otz usually plays chill during early game, so atleast a few gens are finished.

Sure thing, although I don't know how interesting I am. 🙂 I only play one or two matches a night so I'm not nearly as prolific and I've only been tracking my games on Nightlight for a month or two but here's what I have so far
- 57 killer games, 69.74% kill rate
- 12 Survivor games, 25% escape rate (I'm a total n00b survivor, I still have trouble hitting skill checks.)
- Most used loadout: Discordance, Fearmonger, Hex: Third Seal, Hex Undying. (Basically this loadout counters the most common survivor perks. Discordance for Prove Thyself, Fearmonger for Exhaustion perks, and Blindness for Windows of Opportunity which is one of the most picked ones and other aura perks)
- I play whatever killer I have a daily ritual for each night so my pick rates are fairly evenly spread out, I don't have any killers in that 57 with more than 5 matches.
- My most common survivor opponents are Meg and Feng with 10 appearances each.
- Average endgame bloodpoint score per match as kill seems to be about 28.8k
- Of the killers I've played enough to get at least 12 kills, Ghost Face has the highest kill rate at 91.67%.
Interesting stats, I have only recently heard about Nightlight. Seems like it tracks stats well. And great build idea btw, esp Third Seal for Windows.
-
Sorry, I don't track the minor patches. But Otz uses Thanatophobia rarely (only approx 40 games total), so it'd be hard to attribute any win rate changes to the thanatophobia nerf.

Cool stats. Otz’s stats look a little similar to mine in some ways. His kill rate is a bit higher (I’m running about 70%, he’s 76%), which makes me feel like maybe I’m higher MMR than I thought. 🤷♂️ Also his top killers including Doctor and Sadako and Freddy line up with mine. I think that might be because they’re basic chase killers so don’t need as much regular practice to be good with them compared to, say, Nurse or Huntress, for example.
Also this lines up with my own experience for the new RPD maps being pretty killer friendly and corn maps being not so killer friendly.
Thanks for putting in the work on this, it’s interesting. 🙂
Thanks. It's really interesting that your own stats correspond to Otz's stats, do you keep a record of your games? I would be interested to see your stats if you do.

Yeah, I generally use a lot of aura reading and one slowdown. And/or one of those weird niche perks like Mad Grit or Hex : Third Seal that don't really have a category.
I rarely actually have a chase perk, unless I dedicate my whole build to chase with something like Enduring/Brutal Strength/Spirit Fury.
Yeah, maybe I should have made a category for niche perks too but that would have too many options I think.

Sure thing, I did the killer one as well. Based on my current favorite loadouts, I went with
- Lethality - Devour Hope and Forced Penance
- Info - Discordance (since Prove Thyself is super popular), Lethal Pursuer, and Floods of Rage. (I like others too but those are my most used right now)
- Chase - Fearmonger. Also Brutal Strength, Enduring, Fire Up, Bamboozle is my most used chase build. Save the Best for Last is also great, and I like Hex: Blood Favour
- Slowdown - I notice you went with specifically only gen slowdown, but Sloppy Butcher and Coulrophobia are also decent slowdown perks. For gen slowdown though I like Pop, Call of Brine, Hex Pentimento, and Jolt. (Which I use depends on the build, and honestly my most used build right now uses no slowdown at all.)
Yeah I guess I should've added healing slowdown as well. Good builds overall btw.

For the survivor questions I ended up with Non on all the categories since I only ever play Plunderer Ace (Plunderer’s Instinct, Appraisal, Ace in the Hole, and Open Handed) and go in with a simple toolkit. I also prefer to heal other people and get healed versus self heal.
I like that, I sometimes play Ace with that build as well (minus the open handed cause I think that's overkill). Only Ace players run these memey builds I feel. :D Thanks for filling in the survey.

You know I put med-kits but I really don't use them often, just the best option.
You should make a killer one as well if you are up for it.
The killer survey is linked in my comment below the original post.

By the way, it's just 4 questions each. Each survey will take at most 2 minutes.

Thanks. Appreciate it.

Hello,
I have made another survey for tracking everyone's favorite killer perks. If you play killer, I would appreciate you filling the survey.
Favorite perks for various categories in Dead by DaylightThanks.
-
thanks for clarifying.
-
Are the altruistic healing modifiers for med-kits (25% for brown med-kit etc) applied separately or together with the double speed modifier for altruistic heals, that is, is the denominator for the calculations = (1 + 1) * (1 + 0.25) or just = ( 1 + 1.25).
-
Thank you, I didn't know such a page existed on the wiki. Also, because the modifier applies to her base movement speed(4.4), the net effect is 5% of her base movement speed(4.4) as I had listed in one of the options. I also have more questions about how several add-ons stack with each other, I will make another thread about those. Hopefully, you can help answer them too. Thanks again. :)
