  • I started with doctor and plague. Doctor to better understand where to find the survivors, plague because I'm a fan of her power (making medkits useless, tells on where survivors are based on where you passed through and seeing them get sick shortly after + the more survivors get cured, the better plague's options get)

However I missed the mobility on both. So I thought: "Which killer do I like going against and had high mobility?" And that's how I ended up maining Billy. I'm not a great killer, calling myself a good killer is even a stretch, but I just hope by playing Billy he gets some advertisement and others will play him more often. He's a fun guy apart from the chainsaw and clubbing

  • NOED and Sprintburst

  • Lol, so if a player,, who you've got no connection to, is cheating you should just let your character get hooked and die? That's about as logical as: "if you're in a shop and there's someone stealing, you will be charged with theft aswell". Don't sweat it, you're fine

  • @Starrseed said:

    It does matter.

Not hitting them makes you die faster

This! I really don't get the downvotes.

When on 2nd hook you still have some influence since the skill checks give you a choice:

    • be the distraction because the killer still (might have to) keep an eye on you
    • Just die quickly so maybe a teammate has a bigger shot at hatch
    • Take "revenge" on a survivor who was a bad sport by giving the killer more time to find him/her

I find that these can give sole direction to the endgame. Sure not total gamechangers but some nudges

Now if your point is: can't we wait it out or opt to die by the click of a button ... That's a point of view I can follow, because this does not influence your choice as a 2nd time hooked survivor

  • It doesn't really matter what you do, some people just get angry. So play the way you like and enjoy!

  • Finding this discussion just underneath one saying "why do we have map offerings?" is kind of funny.

I'm not on the same page I'm afraid. Sure some maps are unbalanced based on perspective, mainly depending how the killer's power works. But I feel there's an ok rotation going on. Or at least in 2vs8

  • A Hyde (from Wednesday) lots of options regarding the survivor as counterpart :D

  • Sure the zombies can be annoying but at least now there's a mini zombieoutbreak going on when Nemi is present.

I think if only Nemi would see the zombies but not the second killer would be an ok compensation. (With zombies giving away your location and Nemi not having high mobility)

Maybe you also have a fair point about the number of vaccines ... Vaccine vendingmachine taking a bit longer to cough up a vaccine than opening the box as solution?

Truth be told, my friend, I don't have any arguments.

I just would like to have a killer to play in 2v8, and these two are basically the only killers I play these days.

Well I hope you get them while I never meet them! ;) gl and hf in your games!

  • @GeneralV said:

We should have Knight and Skull Merchant.

These might be the worst killers to add in my opinion ... Knight is fun in 1 vs 4 but the npcs just make it 2 hard for survivors unless you'd really slow them down to a point they'd be pretty much useless ... Nemi's zombies only are an option because they are slow and can be blinded or hit by a pallet. Either way, love knight, but sad to say I don't think he'd be fun in 2vs8

Skull merchant could be ok at the start of a trail, but as soon as some survivors are dead, she quickly controls way to much of the maps which makes the trail impossible to quickly for survivors

But that's just my opinion, I'm happy to listen to your arguments :)

I’ve been playing a fair bit, but honestly it gets tiring facing the same killers over and over, in my matches it’s been mostly Oni, Hillbilly or Dracula. I think I may just head to regular games for a bit for some variety but I can admit if BP was increased it’d definitely help me play more.

I get a decent amount of huntresses and pyramid heads aswell. With the mix between these I'm reallly happy since I think all of them are great fun to go against

  • Never played slinger myself, but I do like going up against him as a survivor. So good for him! Hope to see him soon/more often

  • He's still a problem... You just can't make distance so you can try hiding, the easy hits from far away, waste of time while mending before you can get to healing, crossing the map with that mobility to start a chase seconds after hooking and even when there's no survivor found he can keep a quick eye on so many gens. + Why not kick the gen first you'll catch up in a sec ... It's just a bit to much

  • First thing that comes to mind is skull merchant because these games can last sooo long + it doesn't make sense ... You should be able to take out the drones, not just temporarily disable them. When working on them I think: just break a propellor and a real drone would be gone. Or throw a rock at it or something …Just break the stupid drone …

Second thing is ... And I generally like the hag, but there are a few maps where first thing in my mind is: "please not hag" because the traps are just unfairly invisible.

  • "throwing someone under the bus" is kinda subjective. I feel like you should always play your role to your best effort without ruining the fun for the other side. And from killerside that's clear: kill the survivors and no tunneling, slugging etc

From survivorside it's not always as clear. For me it means you want to get out, but also with as many other survivors as possible. So do your gens, look out for eachother and help eachother out. I'll only give up on a fellow survivor if he/she was being toxic or going back for them means suicide. (But I won't hide and do nothing, never ... I mean I play for fun and just creeping around looking at rocks and trees for about 15 min isn't fun to me)

  • I'm not saying I don't like this, but I prefer encountering skull merchant to this design

I saw a Krasue like 2 weeks ago. And it was the first this year. She is very unpopular, because her gameplay loop is really boring and basically always the same.

    @Topic:

As already said, strong Pallets are your friend, since she cannot break them. Bodyblocking while not infected works as well. However, she does not have that much counterplay, on most Loops she will get a hit.

Her infection mechanic got changed some point after release. Initially the infection would not go away when you get hooked, which made the Mushrooms more important. But since it takes three business days to cleanse the Infection, she was very good at tunneling so that got changed. Currently you can basically ignore the Mushrooms, unless she leaves you in a chase, but since she will most likely down you and there is not that much counterplay, this almost never happens.

Learning to play against her is also difficult, since she is very rare. She is super boring to play, so only very few dedicated people who really like her are playing here. (Which is a shame, since the concept of Krasue is really cool)

I did it you guys! I went out up against this killer ... And she was the worst

Oh windows is 100% my crutch perk. I'm not particularly good at running chase so it at least lets me keep a chase going for more than 20 secs by knowing where the nearest pallet or window is. Idk why they added breakable doors to windows aura reveal though

Amen. I'm just the worst as bait so I use this perk for every1 to have a good time. You're welcome! ;)

  • Wow, I can only think of very very few times I remembered I played with someone before. But some people can get really salty ... So yeah I can imagine people letting me hang someday because I make lots of mistakes as survivor and when I play killer I'll try to go for a fun trail for everyone but I'll try and get as many kills as possible unless someone was really impressive or took the fall trying to save a teammate who was done for

  • I recognize the pain, because even when you sabotage the hook the killer is going for, in my opinion it only rarely results in a surv being able to free themselves. But this remains a hard nut to crack. I've been thinking about a perk converting a percentage of recovery into struggle but that might only encourage slugging because the killer rather won't pick anyone up if they were down for a while ... Which you could counter that with an other perk which lets you recover to a full state when every1 is down or hooked for more than x seconds. That second one seems really niche but since we all hate slugging ... Idk, I'm just brainstorming here, I'm not at all saying either perk would be without flaw

  • I always thought of these offerings as waste. The only way I can see myself use them is in a scenario where there's a 10-20%-ish random mapchance and split the rest over the offerings. In this scenario having just 1 mapoffering in play is crazy powerfull so better throw one in. However I feel like there should always be a random chance aswell.

  • I liked that both sides could see which class the opponents had. Now I get that this could increase tunneling of some sort, but I feel like the added value of better knowing what you were up against outweighs that. Tunneling in 2vs8 happens but rarely enough that I don't see it as a major issue

  • This makes me sad. Finding out which killer is half the fun. The suspense when everything stays quiet: am I lucky or is it a stealth killer? Hearing the music and thinking: long time since I heard that one, which killer was it again ... + Indeed the disconnects which will certainly increase :( nope, don't like this

  • I took a break just before this killer was released, started again when 2vs8 got active (for reference, I know she wasn't in 2vs8). So I know of the existence of this killer, but even in all the matches I played since, I've never encountered this killer. So quite surprised to see she's apparently actively used. Maybe it's my region idk.

Come to think of it also saw only 1 dogmaster but a billion Weskers.

  • I feel like WoO should be automatically active for your first 5 to 10 trails as survivor. I mean, lots of my friends just quit the game after only a few matches because they felt like baby seals waiting for the club. I even wonder sometimes if I'd stuck around if I hadn't unlocked this perk in my first hours

  • I hear you, but we have to admit that when it runs, the game's amazing. I think you wouldn't have taken the time to post this if you didn't agree with that.

  • I'd probably play killer more often and ask the other survivor mains in postchat to take on the role more often aswell. This game has a pretty amazing community, so I have faith it'd work out eventhough I'd miss out sadistic counterparts who most of the time turn out to be big teddybears aswell when you thank them for a fun game in post <3

  • I never really thought about people getting different treatment because of ttv ... As a main surv I usually joke prechat about becoming famous through them before they find about I'm really bad at this game :p

  • Yeah always having an extra option besides 1vs 4 would be nice.

I love 2vs8 but I can see how it isn't for every1. So a rotation with chaos shuffle, my little oni and some other variations would be nice :)

  • Soon there'll be dessert-styled offerings for all and bps will rain from the sky :)

  • Lol I remember after one of my first matches I checked out the killer's perks and that's when I found out. Still felt cheated even though the blame was only on me being a noob :D

  • Not using any items or offerings because I didn't want to run out ...

  • I only return for events, binge it like a new season of a series I love and as soon as it's back to classic 1vs4, I'm done.

So I still like the events we've got but the periods inbetween is what feels like a drag to me.

  • Yeah... I love this game but the bloodweb could be improved. I feel like letting the game take the decisions will result in getting a lot of trash. Now if I could give a preference of priority based on categories to flavor what I'm getting ... (First healing, repairing, bp-farming, etc and least prio on maps) I'd feel more tempted to give things out of hand and do what I love most: play the game

  • I'm confused, people like Legion in 1 vs 4? :)

  • All survivors down or on hook. All the rest could be strategy so should be allowed. I don't like being down but it's just a few minutes ... So chill

  • The Undertaker who tomb stones people as a mori. Nice as a skin: Kane with a chokeslam as mori

  • WoO: I had multiple friends quit the game because they couldn't keep a chase going for more than a few seconds. I also always use it because I don't get to play frequently enough to memorize maps.

Yeahyeahyeah crutch-comments etc incoming ... I just want to have fun playing my games, sue me.

  • Maybe it should be considered that some players only get an hour in here and there over multiple weeks ... Not so simple to memorize all the maps in that situation

  • Yeah never really got this. If your mate is wounded and you can't find him/her or already chased with multiple gens to do ... Sure I'll hide to go for the hatch. Otherwise I'd rather take the slim chance of an escape or die and continue to a fresh game, than look at grass and trees for an hour to maybe still be discovered first.

  • In my experience this really improved a lot.

So I feel for you and hope this improves for you, but can't relate anymore.

  • I soloQ all the time because my friends don't want to play dbd. Probably because they're imaginary

  • @Huge_Bush said:

it’s simple. The game should track how many DCs and how many early hook suicides someone attempts. Once it hits a high threshold, matchmaking should start grouping them and matching them against like minded players.

Wow, nice suggestion! However time should also be a component. Maybe look at the 50 most recent matches and max 1 month in the past or something like that.

Going through a rough time can result in bad gameplay but shouldn't be punished forever

  • Played for about 3 years, had a 5 month break and now I fire the game up for a game or 3 about every other weekend. I don't think it'll become the topgame I'm looking forward to on a gaming night anytime soon, but absence does make the heart grow fonder

I have found it kind of odd that even when it says 100% bonus on survivor, meaning there’s a supposed lack of survivors queueing, the queue still takes minutes. Where as even when the bonus is for survivors like that my killer queue is always instant.

Haven't seen a bonus for survivors in months. Perhaps related to when I play which is usually at night?

  • My doc told me to enjoy the simple things like a nice tree

    Jk idk

  • Idk, as a survivor matchmaking can take so long. While as a killer it's click and go. Given it takes 4 survivors and 1 killer to make a match ... I'm feeling like survivors still get plenty of fun compared to killers in general.

True, you shouldn't make unpopular killers OP. Also true: balancing a unbalanced game is hard. I do trust the devs to take action after a period of evaluation. Go devs!
